When thru the whole trifecta chemo, radiationtherapy & surgery and sadly hysterectomy later bc unable to do fertility since my #cancer was aggressive #pinkoctober #getyourmammogram #checkyourboobs Im so thankful to my #medicalprofessional @hoaghealth #heartofhoag who have cared for me during breast cancer and then #sarcoma cancer During last 5yrs has been rough had to move #home bc drained my #bank #lifesaving since haven’t been able to return to work. MAxed out my #edd 3yrs ago and don’t get any govt aide since I’m single and no kids/husband BUT I AM MY OWN Dependent. And during COVID no add’l #help bc haven’t worked my #SSD barely covers my monthly #bills 😥 I could of not been here today without my #caregiver #mom and #twin @sprwmn78 who have been there every moment. @hoaghealth #recovery #heal after my 6th and hopefully final surgery for #sarcoma + 1 for my #breastcancer few yes ago. The “C” word #cancer is not something one ever wants to hear BUT to have 2x with 3yrs before my 40th was #painful TODAY 9-6-18 is when I got the call that my routine scan found a spot and not good went to hospital- the drive was #emotional w my mom BUT harder was to call my #parents that cancer was back. No parent wants to see the child suffer no matter how old we are. My twin and Inhabe had a lot of #twinempathy during my cancer where she has felt my pain 😥. Had to wait 2wks to get official results since it was so deep in my chest. This time it wasn’t #breastcancer but a rare #sarcoma in my pectoral muscle barely missing my ribs and lungs. During the wait my #medicalteam saw that I was #brave and prepared for the 2 scenarios - (a) major surgery or (b) write my will and enjoy #life I was #lucky it was “a” 18 days after my #40thbirthday in @kauai I went into #hospital for surgery was there for 14 days w another midnight surgery week later due to complications w my fat transfer to recreate my chest. It’s been a LONG 2years. Moved #home have had 6 surgeries overall due to my Sarcoma 😥 Dealing w the cancers have taken a toll on #body emotionally and physically. Not the same person I was and will never be but I’m alive here to say it’s not the end #livelife I struggle most days w energy and pain/stress that my body has been thru and the #money toll it has cost me - no work since 2015 & not by choice. BUT I am #thankful to my awesome caregivers #mom and #twin @sprwmn78 my #medicalteam @hoaghealth #heartofhoag - Dr Dickinson, VanderMolen, Snyder and the nurses who have cared for me from 2015 Ms Booth and Topp and #cancercare team at Hoag Cancer Center. I go in hopefully my 7th and final #surgery on 9.11.20 to #plasticsurgery #cosemtic on good boob and remove more #deadtissue in my cancer chest.
