Life update: currently on hold with the IRS. Also, been BUSY AF. I stood for hours down there and wondered, who were these people and what were their lives like? What was a day in their life like? Were they in love? What was their favorite meal? Did they have a favorite outfit? More darkly, what were the terms of their demise? Plague? Murder, old age? Hundreds of thousands (or more) bones. So there was this one time, right, I was walking through Paris on my rounds to various activities, and it was a cool and drizzly day, but fresh you know? And so, I hit the river and turn the corner and MMMBOP. RIGHT THERE. I saw the Eiffel Tower for the first time. And I cried. I was overwhelmed, it was such an incredible surprise and shock, and everything was so beautiful, and I was alive, ALIVE! I was doing this whole trip on my own, and my heart was in a million tiny fragments, but I swear seeing that view, it made it all real again. Like I got sucked back up to earth from this underground purgatory. Feelings took on a different meaning. Healing, it was starting. The gaping wound, the hopelessness, eased by a micrometer but even that small amount was as perceptible as being punched in the face by, like, Pacquiao. And it got harder, and it got easier. And there were plenty (PLENTY) more tears. And there were years of helpless feelings, hopeless bearings, steps in every direction. And the changes, they all come so stealthily and incrementally. And you may think you feel just as shitty today as you did back then but when you truly stop and assess, you’ve made incredible progress. You’ve invested in yourself, heart and soul and body and mind. Pushed your boundaries, learned new things and perfected old passions. Made new connections. You’re becoming unafraid. You were always brave. You’re becoming.
