#the 5yncri5e songs have been going OFF they are unreal how good theyve all been so far #i was originally a little annoyed at the 5 member subunit situation i kinda wanted like.#i dunno three groups of three and one of 2? or maybe two of 3 one of 4 and one duet?#and i was particularly annoyed because they put who i consider like some of the strongest singers in such a big group #(chisato and especially shiki's seiyuu. chisato's a bit of dark horse in that people dont notice how beautiful her vocal expressions are)#(at first until they listen closer. but shiki's seiyuu came out swinging man her voice is fantastic)#(rich and powerful but also so expressive. one of my absolute fav voices in liella)#i was worried they would shaft them and not give them enough lines or something but MAN i did not have to worry at ALL #their voices are SHINING along with tomari and kinako. natsumi's been a little shafted tho #i hope later songs will have more natsumi.... but man jellyfish. tomari's like. thin but melodic voice has been FANTASTIC #in their previous song a little love her and kinako kind of own that song. both high and thin voices but kinako is a little flatter but mak #makes up for it in expression and again tomari's is beautifully melodic so their parts around the synth breaks #where they say 'a little love...' I NEED a byler fic or edit to Fly Out West by Yot Club idc if I've talked about it before because omg the song works so well and it's so angsty so I'm going to talk about it again (also it's just a good song lol)

OK so it's literally called 'Fly Out West' which is what Mike does at the start of s4 and it's really great for early s4 angst.

Former romantic partner can be easily exchanged for former best friend if you consider how the lack of communication whilst Will is on California would make them feel- especially when Mike says how he felt like he was losing Will.

Here are the lyrics:

I feel like it could so easily be Mike's pov on the first screenshot and Will' pov on the second.

"Hope you've been all good heard you've found a brand new home" obviously Mike thinking about Will in California and how Hawkins isn't the same without him.

But then it goes "you're all I dream about" which is serious Mike pretending in rink o mania to ignore Will only to be focusing on how Will is supposedly sabotaging the whole day vibes.

And then the line "take it from me, I'm too dumb to recognise your doubt" reminds me so much of Finn calling Mike clueless and asking him to just pay attention a bit more about how maybe the painting isn't for a girl that Will likes....

"Tell me how you live so easily young and naive" again reminds me of how Mike originally thinks the painting is for a girl Will likes and suggests that Will isn't going through the sake sexuality struggle Mike is as Mike thinks Will is straight.

"I can't heal you" is literally Mike's feelings of helplessness throughout the series.

Then because this song is so exceptionally bylet coded, I love thinking about the second half of the song being from Will's pov even though it's almost the exact same lyrics as Mike has.

"I think you fake that smile that's on your face" is literally Will watching Mike and El at rink o mania as although he thinks that mleven is all in love or whatever, he also knows his best friend and how El is lying to him about her bullies.

And then of course "you're all I dream about" WILL LITERALLY MAKES A BIG PAINTING WITH A MASSIVE RED HEART ON IT!!! Mike is all he dreams about :((

"I'm too dumb to recognise your doubt" Will doesn't understand the relationship issues in mleven and doesn't know that Mike hasn't said I love you yet.

#so there's this girl who's a year above me and to say that she's good at singing is an understatement. if the goddess of song #herself were to appear in front of me or anyone who's ever heard a note come from her mouth and asked which one was more talented the only #appropriate answer would be that the goddess pales in comparison. i first heard her voice at the auditions for our middle school musical in #the sixth grade and i've been in shock and awe ever since. it's in the name of her voice that i decided i wanted to learn how to write musi #bc i cannot sing but wanted nothing more than some sort of reason to stand next to her. and by some twist of fate. i took music theory last #semester and guess who ended up sitting directly next to me. and who i also said no more than maybe 5-10 words to the entire time. . whoops #in my (and her) defense. it's not like she's unapproachable or anything. she's one of the genuinely kindest people i've ever encountered bu #the problem is. it's a music theory class. i was the only one in it not affiliated w the music department. and everyone in it had known eac #other for 4-7 years. even my like. actual friend in the class was ignoring me a lil (he wasn't he was just hanging out w his closer friends #and so i kept to myself the entire semester bc i didn't want to feel like i was intruding on anything + am terminally shy #(like. to the point where i get physically ill bc of it)#flash forward to today in ap world w our song parody project. our teacher was showing past examples from previous classes and guess who too #the class last year. and ofc. you Do Not get [name redacted] working on a project w/out having her sing for you #her group made a stalin-themed mr sandman parody and our teacher paused the video halfway through and it was my own personal 9/11 #bc there's no good reason for our paths to ever cross again. unless she becomes some celebrity. which i have no doubt she could if merit wa #the only factor at play there. i will never hear her voice again and i'm not sure what i'm going to do abt that.#romeo.txt
