I HC Sky has epilepsy and he’s been having seizures since he was around 7 but Groose bullying him has absolutely NOTHING to do with this

Like Groose is a bully but he’s not ableist. He’d genuinely help Sky and make sure he was okay, and he’d gently talk to him until he calmed down and recovered a bit, but then once Sky was back up again and was for sure good and moving around okay Groose just says some shit like “okay well still fuck you because I actually have more beetles than you and therefore I am cooler than you, shortass.” because they’re fucking ten and Groose hates his guts but its just because he’s irritated by Sky as a person and NOTHING else

He’s just like “Hey, you good? Are you okay now?” and the SECOND Sky is like “Yeah, I’m fine” Groose is like “Oh good. Btw I’m faster than you just so you know, just in case you forgot” and Sky definitely just shoots him the most EXHAUSTED, irritated look, but really he’d just glad Groose is treating him like a normal person even if he really wishes he’d just shut the fuck up sometimes

concept: groose actually has a crush on link and not zelda, but has internalized homophobia so he projects it on zelda because she kinda looks like link. but whenever he sees link smile, he has these ridiculously cheesy fantasies in his head, like slow-dancing at some sort of prom night type of thing with link while corny romantic 70s music plays in the background lmfaoooo

TLOZ fan theory: I can't remember where I saw this one way back when, or all the exact details, but the theory that the Twili in Twilight Princess are very distant ancestors of the Gerudo. Specifically in that all twili we see are red headed, the mirror of twilight is located in the Gerudo desert, and all "evil" magic using Gerudo in the series are Gerudo who have cooler skin tones like the twili do (Twinrova and most iterations of Ganon/dorf).

Not necessarily submitting this following "theory", but after totk came out I tried to make a theory board about this theory and connecting the Zonai to the Sheikah (strong magic, white hair, third eye imagery), the Sheikah to the twili (red eyes, strong magic, history of getting banished), and the twili to the half Zonai champion of old (long pointed ears, blue skin, patterns on skin, red hair), but I just had a lot of seemingly interconnected dots and no solid theories to conclude lol. I will say tho imo it's fun to consider everything being connected in a whacky web like that.

I'm combining these as they fall into the same category of theories, but I gotta be honest... I don't enjoy these theories, especially when they involve the Gerudo. To me, it's uninteresting trying to connect two races over something, or in the "Groose theory" case, a single person to a group of people. With that one, I can argue that the word Gerudo already existed through that Dragonfly you capture in SkSw. When I realized the parallels the Zonai have to the Sheikah I made a loud groan cause it just completely strips away what made the Sheikah interesting in BotW. The Twili one I can't see the vision aside from the points that you mentioned, but like I said. It makes it so uninteresting I wish the lore of the Gerudo could stand on its own to have interesting worldbuild.

he had confidently walked up to you, not asking you if you'd like to go on a date with him, but when you'd like to go

obviously, you turned him down, as you had no interest in someone who was so self-absorbed, which groose tried to play off by telling you he was just joking anyways

but since that first time he asked you out, a lot has happened and groose slowly began to change and become a better person

only now, he felt like he already wasted his chance with you, by being such an asshole to you the first time he asked you out…

instead of trying his luck again, groose attempted to become a better person, before he'd ask you out again

he wants you to see that he truly changed and that he was sorry for what he did in the past

he knows that the next time he'll ask you on a date, he needs to be vulnerable and honest, to show you he's genuine this time!

maybe then you'd give him a chance to see that he isn't such a bad guy…

Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship

1 ) GROOSE IS ONE OF TWO PEOPLE ZELDA IS COMFORTABLE FALLING ASLEEP AROUND. ever since the entire situation with demise and her... nap... in the amber, sleep has been something that evaded zelda, especially around most people. the only people she truly feels at ease around and comfortable enough to fall asleep around are groose and link, with her loosing track about the amount of times she has fallen asleep leaning against groose while they were supposed to be working on something together.

2 ) ZELDA VOLUNTEERED TO PLAY THE ROLE OF THE GODDESS DURING THE WING CEREMONY WHERE GROOSE GRADUATED. while she was never one to actively promote the fact she was hylia reborn, she was more than happy to reprise the role of the goddess for groose's wing ceremony. she remembered how excited he was to do it with her the year link won, and she was more than happy to do the ceremony with him, jokingly saying that she owed him one for his help with the whole demise situation and it was the least she could do. it was also the last time she ever did anything publicly related to hylia, which made the moment even more special between them.

3 ) THESE TWO PHYSICALLY CANNOT KEEP SECRETS FROM EACH OTHER. a lot of people confide in zelda ( and later down the line groose ) about their situations and secrets, and while they are very good at keeping secrets from the majority of skyloft or the surface, these two are the only exceptions to that. groose found out about pipit's plans to propose before anyone else because pipit had asked zelda for advice. zelda found out peatrice's crush on link before link had a chance to tell her because groose had heard link talking about it once during his journey. these two are just non-stop gossip machines between each other, and they absolutely will refuse to let anyone else in on their conversations. these conversations are for them and them alone.

4 ) GROOSE IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS 100% SUCCESSFULLY HELD ZELDA BACK FROM FIGHTING SOMEONE. of course he had the advantage in this situation, considering he could physically pick her up and prevent her from going to said target to fight, but most people would have resigned trying to stop her the moment they realized she was serious. groose has been the only person brave enough to actually stop the reborn goddess in her tacks, opting to throw her over his shoulder and walk away, even if she was still screaming curses at whoever was the target of her rage. this single event has remained a legend amongst their classmates and those who were lucky enough to bare witness to the event.

I was inspired by @breannasfluff 's pride DTIYS!! But, well, why draw just Triple Threat when I could draw the entire Chain instead???

Is what I thought, when I started this over a month ago.

Reasons why I should've drawn only Triple Threat, rather than the entire Chain, is that this probably would've taken like, 3 or 4 weeks less than it actually did :D. (..that's not true, more like 2 weeks probably.) Ahaha

Still, I'm very happy with how this turned out!! :D

I'm still so so late though it's not even Pride Month anymore whoops.

The flags that I chose are my own personal head-canons for the Chain. But also I'll list some of my relationship headcanons too for fun.

Warriors: Gay, painfully single. 

Time: Ambiguously queer, for the purposes of this art I thought genderqueer fit well. Ofc he's married to Malon.

Wind: Queer/Gay (He and Tetra are queer platonic besties to me) I didn't really wanna assign too much to him though since he's like, 14, so he just got a rainbow.

Twilight: Pansexual. Used to have a crush on Midna, later develops a relationship with Shad?? Idk, he can do whatever he wants.

Sky: Bisexual, Polyamorous. Man is totally dating both Sun and Groose.

Four: I have no idea what Four is. Vio is gay, Shadow is gay, Blue and Green are not into romance, and Red is pan. Demiromantic I guess, for all of Four? But like Four would never date anyone cuz the colors. So I just went with a rainbow.

Legend: Transgender, gay, asexual. My headcanon says he's married to Ravio. (For tax reasons, ofc.)

Hyrule: Aroace!! (Aromantic asexual). I'm sorry but I cannot imagine this little fae dating anyone. Queer platonic relationships with the Zeldas though? I can see that.

Wild: Bigender. I also headcanon him as polysexual but I forgot that I headcanoned him as that until literally writing this bit so uh... I forgot to add it to the image. Oh well.

This took forever, literally I am dying, and now I can finally move onto drawing a different piece!! ...I still need to finish my Chain as mythical creatures series so maybe I'll get on that

While interesting ideas, as someone who enjoys mythology, I actually still think Hyrule's god have been far & above a heck of a lot better than 99% of the Greek pantheon has ever been.

Zeus forced Odysseus to kill a baby. And so many of the Greek gods have been noted to just outright rape women.

And another thing is, we've no clue what would happen if a god dies. Like, yeah, we know that Hylia did, but we never see the actual effects of it. For all we know, killing one of the Golden Trio could cause their piece of the Triforce to be destroyed & if all 3 are destroyed, A Link Between Worlds suggests that Hyrule would fall to ruin. Not the kingdom as an organized state, but the land itself might lose vitality.

For all we know, it could result in something similar to what happened with God of War.

Like, yes, Hylia died, but at the same time, we didn't really get to see the state of the land after which. Not really.

Obviously, the land eventually recovered if anything did happen because of it, but we only see that recovered state 2,000+ years afterward.

We don't even know if there are any rules surrounding how these deities are supposed to interact with mortals.

We think that such entities are all-powerful, but what if they aren't? What if there's only so much they can do?

I'm not saying don't go the "fuck the gods" route, just that if you do, it's likely best to fully explore the idea to its conclusion.

Honestly I think Skyward Swords and eventually Botw/totk portrayal of Ganon/Demise isn’t the best. I don’t particularly like the whole divine right thing.

My all time favorite portrayal of Ganon is Wind Waker. He was nuanced, he was believable. Not just pure evil. He clearly cared about his people. Someone with a curse on him like Tetra and Link. Forced to fight even if he doesn’t realize it. The gods truly did fuck them all over. Pitting them against each other for their own gains or entertainment. Shades of grey

Honestly I like the idea of the three of them eventually realizing they were cursed by the gods and ganging up. Fuck divine right. Fuck the gods. Fuck the kingdom of Hyrule.

I want a Ganon to realize that demises hatred exists and that he’s being manipulated by a weenie baby loser of a god. I want a chaotic neutral Ganon.

I want a Zelda and link who question the kingdom’s authority over other peoples. A young kindhearted Zelda who is appalled at her father’s actions and choices towards other kingdoms and races. A Link who shows her how lower class people are treated.

I think the three chosen should unionize

Groose and Pipit go to cafes together and invariably, Groose somehow gets a milk mustache and spills his drink on his homework every time.

Yandere Sky Headcanons

Sky is, without a doubt, a hopeless romantic when he’s in love. We’ve seen him swoon and sigh dreamily when thinking about his loved one, he’s THAT kind of lover boy. Naturally, when adding a layer of insanity tinged love sickness to that adoration, he’s prone to becoming very affectionate.

Unless you are as dense as a rock, it will be no secret that the Hero of the Skies is head over heels in love with you. He basically has heart shaped pupils whenever he looks at you, cartoon heart bubbles magically appear around his head when in your vicinity and his face turns so red you’d think he had a high fever.

Sky is a devout yandere, obsessive in every way, shape and form, and protective to a fault. Even when not around you, you occupy his thoughts and daydreams to the point where it seems like he’s never not thinking about you.

He’s got a masters degree in yearning from Pining University.

And while he hasn’t lost that many people like some of the other mentally unstable chosen ones in the Chain(namely Wild and Legend), the fear of losing them is very real to him. He’s known the blood chilling terror of being a few steps too slow and a few minutes too late with the only thought in his head being “what did I do wrong?”

Following the conclusion of his first and only journey, Sky has come to accept that he made his mistakes and that he must move on in order to grow, but that doesn’t stop him from taking those lessons to heart when falling in love with you.

We’ve seen multiple times throughout the various installments that one of Sky’s favorite hobbies is playing his lyre. It’s a simple pleasure he indulges in whenever they have a moment of peace and the sound never fails to remind him of his home. But he’s found another reason to love it and that is the attention you end up giving him whenever he plays a song.

He isn’t the best musician in the group, but there’s no denying that the simple melodies he strings together are pleasing to the ears, so it’s no wonder you’d take the time to sit down, listen, and compliment him.

Sky doesn’t see it like that, though.

In his deluded, love hazy mind, all that registers is that you’re there giving him your attention and your praise; two things worth more than gold in his eyes. He’s like a drug addict who just got hit with another dosage. If he had a tail he’d be wagging it so hard it would thump against the log he’s sitting on, so he better consider himself lucky that Twilight is the dog of the group.

Though, if would please you, he’d willingly let you collar and leash him. Tell him to sit and roll over, he’ll do it on command without any shame whatsoever. He’ll even walk around on all fours if you want!-

Anyways-

THIS! 👏 MF! 👏 STEALS! 👏 FROM! 👏 YOU! 👏

I mean, technically it isn’t for long, he won’t permanently take something that belongs to you without ever giving it back(in secret so you never find out it was him), but he WILL swipe something of yours from time to time. Most commonly he’ll take a tunic or shirt from you, something you won’t immediately notice is gone.

When he has a moment of privacy, he’ll take out his little treasure and press it against his face, taking in a deeeeeep breath, and sighing lovingly. He’s got it bad for you and he knows it. If he could he’d use your tunic as a pillowcase whenever he went to sleep, but there’s no way he wouldn’t get caught.

Despite all this sugary sweetness, Sky isn’t solely a soft and gentle boy. If he is provoked, or if you’re being bothered, Sky doesn’t hesitate to step up and glare down the nuisance, all the while keeping a calm smile stretched across his face. This is where his surprisingly deep voice comes in handy, people aren’t expecting a voice like his to come from such a soft face.

Out of all the members of the Chain, I actually think that Sky would be one of the most patient when it comes to people trying to mess with them or you respectively; he’s dealt with Groose’s bullying for a few years, I think he’s a natural at letting nasty comment slide right off him like water off a duck’s back.

However, even then his patience is dangerously thin regarding people. If provoked he won’t hesitate to begin plotting the fool’s demise, whether it be a swift cut to the jugular or a slow, agonizing demise is up to the person in question.

And finally, just a hint, do not try to run from him, it won’t work.

If Fi’s ability to dowse objects and seek them out is based on Sky’s own desire to find them, then if you were to try and run away, he’d be able to track you right down to the exact spot you’re standing in. Because there is nothing and no one alive that Sky wants and needs more than you.

Hide in the woods, in a cave, in a dungeon, in a mountain, it doesn’t matter. He will hunt you down, find you, and drag you back home in his loving, suffocating embrace.

Sky: Strawberry, he likes sharing with Sun and/or Groose. It's his favourite fruit he discovered on the surface

Twilight: Vegan chocolate, because I firmly believe that if he eats anything else he will be violently ill (he does it anyway sometimes)

Wild: He'd rather make his own

Warriors: Rum and raisin (is this a normal flavour or is this just a british thing-?) everyone bullies him, they all hate it

Legend: Apple sorbet (he's that bitch who would buy sorbet in an ice cream shop)

Hyrule: Mint chocolate chip. I have no reasons for this, just vibes

Wind: Bubblegum, he likes the bright colours and flavours

Time: Just vanilla, the others bully him for it but he likes it

Four: Strawberry, he just likes it and will not take constructive criticism

Post-game sksw is a setting I've talked about quite indepth on the blog before, but for a quick recap:

Zelda and Link are dating. A lot of skyloft folks have joined in the effort to settle on the surface, but so far only Link and Zelda's house is done. Groose, his goons and Karane are working on building more + some help from other skyloft folks. Pippit cooks for them after a hard day's work and is dating Karane.

Groose was invited by Zelda and Link to live in their house, but has refused to and instead stays at the temple. He says he's looking after it with grandma being gone.

In my hcs Groose, Zelda and Link end up in a poly relationship one day 💛 However the comic isn't about romance so any romantic progression with them is unlikely to show up beyond subtext in the pages.

Legend's life post Link's Awakening is smth I'm keeping fairly vague as I feel the points that matter aren't where they may sleep at night, but where they don't. That'll be explored in the comic, but basically: He's a loner and does not really interact with folks beyond neccesity.

He has a professional relationship with princess Zelda, who sometimes tasks him with places to go do hero stuff at.

Also not sure if this counts but they do visit their Uncle's grave now and then for maintanance.

Mini loves his grandpa who also loves his grandson very much. 🙌 Grandpa struggles to keep up with Mini's intense personality and general unstoppability, but besides that things are good back home.

He spends a lot of time adventuring, guarding and investigating around Hyrule so he can keep the kingdom safe! But he also likes sneaking into the castle to hang with Zelda 😊 They're bestest of friends and get in a lot of trouble together.

In a very subtle way the comic does imply Mini marries into Royalty at some point, but I left it vague so ppl can ignore that if they wanna!

i feel like if link had died during the events of skyward sword, strich would cry a lot (one major reason being regret: he was part of the group of link's bullies and therefore complicit in said bullying, when he never actually had a problem with link), but no one in groose's group would cry more than groose himself
