I really hope at some point down the road in The Legend of Vox Machina, the whole story of the Matron is touched upon a little bit more. How she was mortal, how she ascended and took down the previous god of death and erased her old name and his from history.

I mean if we're gonna get to the Whispered One it'll need to happen anyway, but...

But I just want that scene. Her and Vax, in her domain, the threads of fate, everything tinted red...and she takes off the mask to reveal the sad, lonely, powerful woman underneath. I just really want to see that.

It's Vax, seeing what his future is going to be. The lonely Champion of Ravens, god of the dead and the passage of souls, once mortal, forever changed and detached from the life they knew and the ones they loved.

The few snippets of dialogue I've seen from from Hermes in Hades 2 really reaffirms a core part of whatever his relationship is to Charon to me: Hermes is extremely invested in making sure Charon has someone to talk to.

Please say hi to him. Please make sure he's doing okay. Please look out for him. Someone needs to be checking in on Charon and be there for Charon when Hermes can't be.

Maybe it's because he recognizes Charon is a loner and doesn't have people who worry about him. Maybe its because he knows Charon has a hard time communicating. Maybe its because Charon is a workaholic and will put the people he cares about before himself. Maybe he just really fucking likes Charon.

Probably all of these. But I had that assumption in the first game, and I'm glad its canonized (or so it seems) in second. Hermes worries about his big skull faced man's mental and social well-being so much that he's asking the children of Hades to take some time out of their big important 'find my mom/dad' quests to make sure boatmen aren't too lonely without they speedy chatty birds.

Day 3 of trying to make sense of ultrakill designs: ferryman my beloved

Honestly ferryman is one of the first of the designs I loved when I first got into uktrakill...doesn't help the fact that the lore is so...oughhh I love you ferryman

It's just so interesting (and sad?) how ferryman is probably the only being that actually likes gabriel for who he is instead of his position, and the way he writes about gabriel... also how its one of the instances where we see another side to gabriel, the side that isn't just his angelic duties...

I'm probably just rambling at this point but ferryman and Gabriel's relationship will be in my head always <3 ferrygabe my life belongs to you
