Child's Play 2 is satisfying to watch because the main kid is genuinely SO smart while still being believable for his age. He is like, 'yup I gotta appease the adults by saying I'm fine, and THEN I GOTTA GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE', and starts packing to run away from the foster system so Chucky can't find him anymore! He knows not to go in the dark basement without a weapon, and it saves him! He knows to double check any Good Guy Doll to see if it has batteries because in the last movie Chucky was running without batteries! Bless this kid.

༺ Art ༻
⇢ Chapter two ⇢ Chapter three ⇢ Kinktober Masterlist
Things were never supposed to happen this way.
You had good intentions, but you didn't think things through. God, you should have thought twice.
But you couldn't not do it. The only reason he died was because he fell for you. A cursed girl.
Gyutaro worked at the local plant nursery where you shopped weekly. He wasn't the type for customer service, but he liked seeing you. Always going out of his way to order rare plants and materials for you.
You are a witch after all, so his assistance was very helpful for you and your coven. Of course, Gyutaro didn't know you were a witch, he just thought you were a cute girl who liked the shop. He never thought much about why you came in so often.
Besides, he only worked there because they were chill and didn't care that he would come to work smelling like weed.
He was a strange guy, but you'd be lying if you said you didn't have a crush on him. Those pretty birthmarks and that crooked smile were too much for your heart to resist.
But everything changed when you found out about the accident. One night when he was driving home from work, his motorcycle was hit by a semitruck.
An accident like that doesn't happen every day. It was no coincidence, and you knew it.
Being a witch has its perks, but there are also cons as well. Every boy that's ever loved you has died a tragic death. If only you knew how much he liked you, you would have stopped coming around. But it's too late now.
That poor, sweet boy died because he fell in love with a witch. You couldn't let this be his fate. Maybe he was just some shop employee but he was so much more than that to you.
And that's what caused you to make the rash decision to perform a resurrection ritual. You've only ever resurrected small animals, so this was very new to you.
There was no turning back after you broke into the morgue. Reattaching his body parts and sewing them back together. The accident must have been horrific for his body to have been separated into so many pieces. At least piecing him back together wasn't too hard, the pieces were easy to identify since they had those pretty black spots on them.
At first, you thought the ritual didn't work. After blowing out your candles and double checking you did everything correctly, his body still lay there motionless and cold.
You didn't realize you had been there for so long until an employee came in to start their shift for the day. Quickly hiding behind a metal table, you tried to stay out of sight.
The poor guy wasn't ready for what he saw. In his eyes, it seemed like some kind of devil worshippers broke in and desecrated the body.
He shouldn't have gotten so close.
Maybe it was the smell of fresh flesh that awoke him, or maybe he sensed that his summoner was in danger. Who knows? But Gyutaro opened his eyes and attacked the man. Animalistic as he sunk his jagged teeth into the man's throat.
"Gyutaro, stop!!" You tried to pull him away but there was no use. The warm blood entering his cold dead body was too much to turn away from.
Eventually, you were able to pull him away and coerce him out of the building. And that leads you to where you are now. Desperately trying to lead him into your apartment without any of your neighbors noticing.
He moans and groans as he struggles to walk. Some parts of his body were more decomposed than others, so it'll take a while for them to work properly again.
Somehow you manage to get him inside, helping him onto the couch so he can rest.
Seeing him in this state, a bloodthirsty monster, barely able to control his body, and unable to speak. That's when the regret starts to set in. Maybe he's suffering more now that he's been resurrected. At least in death, he was at rest.
Tears prick at your eyes as you begin to clean the blood off of him.
"Gyutaro... do you remember me? Y/N? I was one of your customers."
He groans and stares at you, "...Y...Y..." He mumbles the beginning of your name but he isn't able to push the word out.
Feeling relieved that he seemingly remembers you, you go on to explain the situation to him. "I don't know how to say this... but Gyutaro, you died. You were in a terrible accident. Do you remember what happened?"
"..." He's silent as his mismatched eyes dart around. Then out of nowhere he begins to yell, banging his arms on the couch, grabbing things off the end table and throwing them across the room in a fit of frustrated rage.
"Hey, hey calm down!" You try to calm him down but to no avail.
He screams until his voice is raw. Unable to speak or properly control himself, his tantrum intensifies. There's nothing you can do as he's far too strong to restrain. So you just let him let it all out until he's left tired and full of so many emotions he isn't able to express in his new form.
Seeing him now, you aren't even sure if he's Gyutaro anymore. How much of him is left in there? Maybe you only created a monster in the shape of the boy you once loved. But either way, this monster is now your responsibility.
You try giving him time to adjust to his new life, but the tantrums keep coming. Bursts of anger ensue when he gets frustrated. He feels like he's trapped inside of a body that barely works. Deep down he knows how to function, but he just can't. Not to mention the nothingness he feels inside. He feels like a walking husk of who he used to be, completely hollow and empty.
Not only is he emotionally numb, but physically too. Whether his arm falls off because the stitches came undone, or he stabs himself because he gets curious about what would happen. He doesn't feel a thing.
You're the only exception. As soon as your fingers grace his cold discolored skin he feels a spark of warmth. A sensation so pleasant that he can't help but crave it. In a body full of nothingness, your touch is the only thing that makes him feel alive again. He just wishes that he could tell you.
Countless nights you've spent researching spells and remedies to help ease him. Some books say he needs human flesh. Others say you must give him some of your life force. Some suggest doing something to get his blood pumping again, something to kickstart his instincts. But nothing comes to mind.
Not until he limps his way into your bedroom one night as you're researching.
The thuds of the zombie boy's footsteps get louder as he walks towards you.
"What is it, Gyu? Are you hungry again?" You turn and give him a soft smile, "Remember, no eating people-"
He interrupts you with a low groan like he has something he wants to tell you.
"Y-Y/N..." he barely mumbles your name.
"Yes? Do you need me to do something?" You say as you get up from your desk to stand in front of him, ready to help him with whatever he needs.
He looks down at you, his undead eyes glossed over. With slow and jagged movements he grabs your wrist and places your hand on his chest. "F-Fe...eel... al-ive..."
Your eyes widen as you feel his heart weakly begin to beat under your touch, "Y-You feel alive when I touch you?"
He nods slowly, "Tou...ch... mo-more..."

Adaine's Furious Fists part 1
Or
Porter takes Adaine under his wing au Day 1
Just a quick story/summary of how things would go if Porter took Adaine under his wing throughout the series. I made a post about how she is the perfect candidate for him with her anger throughout the series and this happened on a whim. Adaine and Porter actually could have had a really interesting story given how their lives actually intertwine a lot if you think about it. So Regardless, read this if you want, I just thought it might be a fun idea.
First day of freshman year porter is scoping out potential prospects in the courtyard not coming up with much.
Puts a maybe down for fabian, he seems more like a grandstander, but he did punch a kid bigger than him without provocation. Still more ropey than strong, but there are dexy barbarians. Gorgug is a likely candidate, he seems soft, but was able to go into a rage and pummel his attacker, Porter could work with that if he had to. But the metal flower and the singing ticks Porter off. Riz is a low maybe to a no, kids being bullied on the first day are usually a good source of rage, but the goblin kid just seems to take it. Fig he doesn't have a chance to see since she sneaks into the teacher's lounge so early. Kirsten is a hard no, religious trauma can bring out a lot of sweet rage, but with Daybreak breathing down her neck it would be hard to get close to her without alerting suspicion. Adaine is a hard no. A tiny trembling high elf wizard with a huge orb she could barely carry, wearing the uniform of the prissy magic school? No way, no how, Porter doesn't even bother to learn her name.
Later that day he sees Adaine have a panic attack over being given detention and he writes her off even harder because it's pathetic. But seeing Fig stand up for her, she's not the ideal barbarian, but she is a young tiefling girl full of rage and Porter see's his opportunity.
Even later he's called to the cafeteria and sees Doreen, Arthur, and Mr. Gibbons dead with corn everywhere. Goldenhorde explains vaguely what happened and tells them to watch. It would be a horrific scene for a bunch of freshman, but Porter has seen and done worse. Still, he doesn't want to talk to Jace right now. The guy is powerful, but too much of a talker for Porter's liking. He knows some of the kids died and were brought back, that's why Arthur and Mr. Gibbons are dead, but little else. He does notice that Doreen's skull is caved in. He thinks of what little he knows about the kids, of the maybes, only fig has a weapon that deals bludgeoning damage so he assumes it was her and now intends to take her under his wing now that she got her first kill.
Once the cops come, he and Jace leave, Porter goes to observe the kids. They all seems broken and beaten, and about to be sick, not surprising. Porter doesn't have any sympathy for them, but he does understand so it's not enough to write any of them off. They're clean enough but the blood on your hands doesn't wash out as easily.
Porter is intent on Fig, because he thinks she's the one who killed Doreen. When Sandra Lynn comes to pick her up he notices that she's an elf, and Fig was dropped off at school by a different elf, yet their daughter's a tiefling. That might explain why she's so angry the first day since she seems like a newly presenting tiefling. Trouble at home can be juicy, especially when fell blood is involved.
Last to leave is the pathetic little high elf girl, you could use her spine like a meter stick with how straight the girl is standing. Porter can understand being sick or scared after your first battle, but he feels like he's within his rights to mock this little elf girl when no one else is around. He has enough of stuck up high elves to deal with as it is, it's good to see them scared.
But speak of the devil, Arianwen fucking Abernant shows up to pick her daughter up and clearly doesn't want to be seen at Aguefort of all places. Porter knows Arianwen and hates her, she's another teacher and their town only has two so they're bound to run into each other from time to time. They're also technically allies through the Shadowcat, who Arianwen is the main liaison. They don't work together exactly, but there's no reason they all can't exchange favors when working on their own evil plans. Arianwen is a cold, stuck up bitch, but she's a powerful stuck up bitch.
The fact that she's hear means the little elf girl is her daughter, now Porter actually feels a bit sorry for the child. It's one thing to be scared after your first battle when you watched people, including your..., 'friends,' might be to early for that since it's the first day, but people your own age die. It's another to be forced to deal with Arianwen afterwards. Porter still finds it pathetic, but is more lenient since he knows what Arianwen is like, especially if the girl is here instead of at the magic school her mother teaches at. that explains the uniform at least.
Then something happens he's too far away to hear, but Arianwen says something to her, likely to berate her. Porter expects the little elf girl to flinch and cower, but to his surprise, she snaps back at her mother despite her fear. It's not much, but despite how afraid she looked only moments ago Porter can see the fury in her eyes when she snaps back at her mother and it's something that Porter wants to see more of.
Later on Goldenhorde/Kalvaxus is given the faculty the full rundown of what happened. Porter knows more than most of his fellow teachers, but when Kalvaxus mentions Doreen being killed he talks about how she was bludgeoned to death by her own ladle. Not Fig's bass like Porter assumed. One of the other members of the faculty, one of the casters that Porter didn't bother to learn the name of, asks which of the kids did it.
Goldenhorde says it was Adaine, for a moment Porter almost asks 'who the fuck is that' out loud. Since he didn't really learn the names of most of them yet. But Tiberia Runestaff, another frigid wizard bitch, chimes in as always 'Adaine Abernant beat Doreen to death with her own ladle? The girl is ten pounds soaking wet and a wizard, why did she use a ladle" clearly angry that one of her wizards would pop their kill cherry with a martial weapon instead of her arcane abilities, but Porter doesn't care.
Learning that Arianwen's daughter was the one who murdered Doreen, and with a ladle is interesting. And moves Adaine from a hard no to a solid maybe in his rage book.

still on this, THE THING IS the bones of this aren't even actually that bad.
bruce has done something horrendous, something objectively heinous, to his child, and to his child who has already suffered so egregiously in such a short lifespan (until they start letting dick grayson be a man in his thirties jason cannot be older than early twenties, like, college age early twenties, at max he's only barely legally allowed to drink). and he has the perfect out he could use if he wanted to deflect responsibility, it was zur, it wasn't really him, so he cannot really be faulted for what he's done. but he doesn't take it, he chooses the hard path but the right path, and takes responsibility. he acknowledges that even if he wasn't in his right mind, it was still him, a version of him anyway, that did something really, really bad to someone he's sworn to love and protect and who did not deserve anything like that. bruce taking the ownership for his shitty decisions rather than trying to find the loophole, that's good. and it can even work with jason attempting to brush it off, like i mentioned before, jason is canonically a forgiving person who does not prioritize himself, and will continuously turn the other cheek to those who hurt him if they happen to be people he loves. i can absolutely see jason trying to give bruce that out (though not with that fucking therapy speak bullshit, jason todd has never been to therapy because people with healthy coping mechanisms don't create the fucking red hood plan at the big age of sixteen).
the thing is, the thing that could have made this good but didn't because instead they decided to continue making this story shitty from start to finish, is that bruce can't take it. it's good that bruce is owning what happened and bearing the responsibility and referring to it as "what i did to you" rather than passing it off in a bid to get jason to move on. and it can work that jason would try to go "it's fine it wasn't really you" about it. but you lose any good when bruce agrees with him and just goes "yeah you're right. anyway!" what's the point of bruce taking responsibility for a horrific deed in a symbol of growth (and we know it's supposed to be about growth because he prefaces it with talking about how his kids are his family and he needs to acknowledge that to them and let them know what they mean to him) if it's immediately smoothed over? it's utterly meaningless, he might as well have just told jason that he can't be blamed and jason could have just nodded and agreed. the bones were there but then ya fucked it, it literally doesn't mean anything at all. it's the narrative equivalent of going "i have a lit stick of dynamite" only for someone to immediately pour water on it. it has no impact now and it loses any catharsis for the readers, let alone deflating that emotional beat in narrative and making everything just seem stupid. even if jason attempts forgiveness, it doesn't work if bruce accepts it. he needed to say that even if jason is trying to absolve him, he still did it, he still needs to own up to it, jason is still entitled to whatever feelings about it, and he still needs to fix it along with actively working for a redemption and acknowledging his responsibility in that regard. not just go "yeah you're right it's in the past hakuna matata never gonna blame myself for my own shortcomings ever again" and promptly move on to more bullshit.
and like, you're nerfing your own ability to write good stories in the future! for one, it's good if bruce grows from this whole debacle, and does consistently put effort for future issues into not just reminding himself he needs to acknowledge his family, but that he can't take the easy way out and he needs to own up to things even when they were done when he wasn't totally himself. for two, you could have a story where bruce doesn't just have to atone, he has to actually fix his mistake. jason's got this chip in him, bruce has acknowledged that this is something HE did and needs to take responsibility for, have him be the one to fix it! have him be the one to try and find a solution, a way to undo it or nerf it or get it out. have him work to fix this issue that he caused, have him be the one to attempt to mend it and do right by someone he did wrong.
not to mention, it can work from a narrative perspective. batman is a detective, have the search for a cure/fix/whatever be a detective story. false leads, dead ends, red herrings, clues that need to be uncovered, new twists and turns. and for another thing, it works to have bruce try to right a wrong he did to jason specifically. bruce's big failure, in his mind, his greatest unforgivable sin, is that he did not save jason. that jason needed his help and bruce failed him, bruce wasn't there. so it makes sense that, when given the opportunity to make up for that in a way, to be there when he's needed, to help him when he needs it, to essentially make it in time in a way he couldn't on the day jason died, of course he'd throw himself into it with 110%. of course he'd decide that, this time, he won't fail. jason is hurting and in need of help because of him but this time it won't end in the worst way imaginable. this time, bruce is gonna fix it. it would make for great storytelling, and good character moments for bruce AS a character.
but i never get the things i want so instead i got some decent legs to build on that were immediately hacked out from under me in the same fucking panel and the chip thing is likely gonna be solved off-page without any real introspection into bruce doing this really horrible thing to jason or growing from his fuckups or growing in his relationship with jason or jason dealing with this and the two of them actually putting in some work to come back together strong than ever and build a new, better baseline as bruce accepts accountability and jason offers forgiveness once it's earned, for once in his life. and this entire plotline will literally never be brought up again except to explain why tim has a clone-damian suit that looks ugly as shit.
#personal#dc comics#batman#jason todd#bruce wayne#ok NOW i'm done now i swear i'm done i'm done now#gonna go rewatch the episodes of MAWS with cunty slade wilson#to remind myself where my current allegiances lie#(ie with cunty slade wilson from MAWS because it's beautiful and it makes me feel better)#(which lord knows i need after this)

Extermination 8.3
Oh fucking boy
This isn't a really revelatory passage, it's just like. Even more reinforcement that Leviathan is a fucking beast. More dead, more downed.
Taylor the fact that you even bothered to show up is above and beyond what should ever be asked of you, you are fifteen for fuck's sake, staking your life against the defeat of a hateful animate Splash Mountain is not your fucking purview! You should be playing Minecraft or something!
"Sorry I wasn't traumatized in a way that lets me save your life" Hello??
I can't imagine Taylor gets to feel like a part of most communities, honestly. Also I'm not sure that the cape community is any kind of monolith, so whether she "fits in" with them all is kind of moot.
Byyyye, Iron Falcon.
That's such a funny thing to ask somebody, honestly.
And then this is a crazy hardcore thing to ask somebody. This arc does a lot to establish that Skitter is just straight up on another level when it comes to comfort on the battlefield compared to even veteran capes, girl will nearly get pulped by Neptune's fucking wrath and then wonder why other people died while she's still conscious
Oh, Taylor. I'm so sorry, he only gets worse the more layers you get into him.
Also. Okay so Gregor the Snail felt like a pretty sympathetic perspective on how fatphobia stings people, but the life and death of Chubster in the realm of this story... kinda sucks. Like oh no, he's too heavy for Skitter to save him, have to leave him to drown I guess. I'm not saying it's an impossible circumstance, it just feels crass to have it in.
Hey Flechette, keep up the good work girl
The thing I keep coming back to with the Endbringers is that. Okay. These things have been causing horrific damage, mass death, and world-changing devastation for decades, and they've never been killed, and only one cape has ever meaningfully made the things fuck off in the history of ever. They are considered to be the most likely cause of extinction for humanity. Every time it seems like they're winning, even in the short-term, it's just the setup for another knockdown. It's giving them hope just so the despair hits deeper. What are the odds that's on purpose? What are the odds that everything the Endbringers suffer except Scion is just play-acting for them? Selling the capes' moves like it's a wrestling match, even as they don't feel a goddamn thing.
What if it's all just a sick game to an alien god?
This is so cool and so, so fucking dire.
God that's dark
Sacrifice play. Some desperate attempt to redeem himself in the public view maybe? A genuine belief that he can make this stick? I dunno. It doesn't matter, unfortunately.
What a way to sell the fucking outrageous devastation that this monster unleashes in the span of. What, an hour? Less?
Also hey what good is all the missiles and lasers and forcefields if Leviathan is just gonna pick the whole PHQ up and smash it onto the shoreline
So many goddamn downed, it's crazy. And y'know, knowing the rest of the arc we know Tattletale's still standing but of course Skitter is fucked up over losing Tattletale, that's the last person she's got who's willing to extend a hand towards her.
Most powers are dead useless here let's be real
Hey, good job Eidolon
Fucking brave of y'all to be shooting Bakuda bombs anywhere in the same ZIP code as someone you care about, but also god it would be so cool if this had actually worked. Just fucking lock Leviathan down in time out for a hundred years or so, buy that much time? Shame it fails.
Well. I'm not gonna miss the fucking Nazis, but rip in peace Dauntless, we hardly knew ye.
Triumvirate member tagged out. Alexandria was already down for the count, wasn't she? Or she at least stopped showing up at some point, so now it's just Eidolon repping the Big Three
although I guess if you asked Eidolon he'd call it "just Big Me"
First dead kid out of the lot, I think, if we don't count Falcon dying off the battlefield. Sorry, Shielder. I think Leviathan knew you were strong enough to keep being a problem. Gotta be fucking awful for Laserdream though, watching your brother die violently in front of you is. I actually can't imagine, thank fuck.
And then Sundancer down but not out. Honestly if anyone was gonna have decent odds of doing damage I'd have given it to The Fucking Sun, but that doesn't do much for defense does it.
Fucking outrageously brutal, god.
Man. I didn't even think about the fact that this thing is silent the entire time. No Godzilla roars or shit the entire time, nothing except for the rush of water.
Clockblocker keeps coming in clutch to save the day against citywide threats... Someone please for the love of god stop putting these children in the line of fire.
Also interesting that Taylor might be the only one here whose first response is to get him out of the water, for all that he's been her enemy.
Clever.
Taylor can be really harshly judgmental at times but I'm gonna be real I'm with her on this one, Trickster what the actual fuck is your problem. Like good job I guess but what the hell.
Y'know, the fucked up thing is that Armsmaster actually isn't wrong here, and his plan could've worked if he was, uhh. Genuine about it.
Does everybody's ability to give a speech go down the fucking toilet when an Endbringer is within half a mile of them? Is that what it is?
Current Thoughts
Wildbow really fucking knows how to put a battle together. Our POV character isn't actually fighting through 95% of this entire arc (and maybe shouldn't have been fighting in that 5% but we'll get there) but you feel just totally surrounded by the death and devastation that's raining down on all sides.
Unfortunately, I think it's about time for Armsmaster's big reveal on how to lose an arm and a shitload of credibility in record timing.

Hello! Nice to meet you!
Could I request Kaveh, Ayato, and Zhongli's s/o telling them "You're not royalty, but you are the ruler of my heart!"?
king of my heart!
not being royalty doesn’t concern him when he’s a ruler in your eyes (and heart). 『kaveh, ayato, zhongli』
kaveh!
All Kaveh did after the Interdarshan Championship was mope, and it was starting to aggravate Alhaitham. In his eyes, it made no sense to be upset about something you did yourself, but he knew that sharing his thoughts to the blond would do nothing but cause him to start a petty argument that only he's involved in. He doesn't know how you deal with him most of the time, if he's honest.
Luckily you invited Kaveh over to your house. It was mostly to help Alhaitham more than your boyfriend. "You know," you started while at the stove, "the things you did were very noble." His head perked up from where he was setting a plate at the table. "Sure, you don't have that insane amount of wealth that was promised or were able to parade in the diadem, but who cares? You're great in my eyes, and you don't need the money or crown of a king to rule my heart."
Sniffles sounded from behind you before his arms were wrapped around you, his pretty face damp with tears. "Oh, you're so lovely! Where would I be without you?" You extinguished the fire in front of you before moving away from the hot metal on the burner. You didn't want to reply and stuck to comforting him, but he'd probably still be moping on the couch in Alhaitham's house until he got sick of it and locked the blond out.
ayato!
He was known to be the head of the Kamisato Clan, used to working more behind the scenes for the more draining issues regarding the nation. However, even though that was the role he preferred to play, it was not hard to see that the male wished to be recognized for his accomplishments.
Ayato allowed you to hear his thoughts late one night. He clarified that no, he does not regret any choices that got him in this position. That'd basically be saying that he regrets every moment he experienced while being in this position. That'd basically be saying he regrets ever meeting and falling in love with you. He also spoke about Ayaka being the main public affairs leader and that he doesn't wish to have her role either (he was also told by multiple people that he can be seen as a little intimidating with how he does things).
Ayato wishes for more recognition for the job he's had to bear and a horrifically young age. Despite how it seems, many Inazuma citizens appreciate what he does; it's just hard to express that appreciation with a figure of high authority that no one really sees. He poured out his insecurities that tender night, and you were right there to soak it all in and comfort him. "My dearest Ayato, though you have these doubts, please always remember that even though you don't think of yourself as royalty, you'll always be the ruler of my heart, no matter what."
zhongli!
Zhongli was lost when he stepped down from his spot as archon. While observing his people when he was getting accustomed to being a normal mortal, it did not allow himself to see the more emotionally intimate parts of humans. The parts of insecurities, times where unknown feelings introduced themselves.
They first appeared while you were enjoying a night out at the harbour. He mentioned it out of the blue, quiet enough for no other patrons to hear him. "Darling, do you see me as less than since I stepped down?" The look you gave him was enough for him to go back to the story being told, but not for you. You didn't want to allow him to feel even an ounce of worthlessness without you reassuring him that the thoughts are lies.
"Less than? Archon, adeptus, funeral parlor worker, whatever you wish to be, you'll always be Zhongli to me. Besides, even if you no longer rule over a nation with the title as 'god', you'll forever rule my heart." His gloved hand interlaced its fingers with yours, his thumb rubbing soothingly on the back of your hand. It was silent, the thank you, but it was there and that's all you needed.

you said you were comfortable with receiving questions about your fics and i have a question about our house armand and daniel's backstory. how much of armand's sexual trauma does daniel know? i mean in the fic he mentions "the brothel in amsterdam" or how hypersexual&relentlessly giving armand is but, did they ever sit down and have a talk about it ever (it seems a bit unlike armand pre-therapy) or did armand Had to open up a bit about it to daniel bc something cathartic happened, for example a breakdown during sex, him disassociating etc. ? i would love to know if you have anything in mind about this or generally how that convo would go when it eventually (hopefully) happens. armand being as secretive about his past as he is, we hardly get anything like this in canon and even in many fics it is hardly dwelled on, but i do think about it a lot! so i would love to know your thoughts!! lots of love x
Hiii! 💖
Omg, I've thought about this so much in the canon of Our House!
If I continue with the fic, I would definitely love to expand on this more because the whole theme of the fic is supposed to be about trauma—how sometimes there are just some things you don't ever really heal from but you can grow around them! You can find ways to live with them, ways so they don't hurt so much, so they're not so intrusive, and ultimately you can still have a good life and love and be loved. That's just what I want for Armand, okay? 🤧
Ngl, I had to skim through my own fic to make sure what I have written still aligns with what's in my head because it's been a while lol. But yeah, Armand was clamped down pretty tight (pun intended) pre-therapy and his sexual trauma wasn't anything that he was willing to recognize at the time and it definitely wasn't anything he wanted Daniel to know. The trick with OH is that the fic is primarily from Daniel's POV, so there's a lot he doesn't know (thanks Armand) and therefore the reader doesn't know. He's been kept in the dark about sooooo much!
Like for example, Daniel didn't know anything about Armand's sexual trauma prior to therapy but in the notes in my head, Lestat knows because he met Armand when Armand was 17 and left Amsterdam for Paris, and they, along with Eleni, also did sex work together sometimes just to survive. Louis met Armand in New York and knew him when he'd just arrived to the USA and was initially making money as a sugar baby. Daniel doesn't know any of this at any point in the story yet lmao. Armand gave him a bit of the Amsterdam and Europe overview in therapy, but "I was in a window in Amsterdam by the time I was thirteen," isn't exactly something Daniel really wanted to pry into, you know? He knows Armand has night terrors a decade later, he knows Armand has an ~interesting~ relationship with sex; he can put two and two together and imagine what kind of horrific things Armand endured.
But beyond that, no, they've never talked it in detail! I did always think at some point it would be inevitable that it comes up in some messy way like the Baby Thing. Like Armand maybe pushes himself too far while exploring a kink, and like you said, triggers himself and it all comes out. But I also like a softer version where he just walks into the living room one night and curls up by Daniel's side, making himself small, and says, "I want to talk to about what happened to me in Europe, about who I had to be before you. Because sometimes I still feel like that lost, forgotten child, and it frightens me. Maybe if you knew him too, you could talk to him for me. You could make it better."
Which I mean... this is a lot to put on Daniel! But that's the secret secondary theme of this fic lol Daniel Molloy Carrying the Entire Fucking World on His Shoulders! 🤪
#thank you for asking this was so fun to answer!!!!!#please forgive my typos lol i have my period im so out of it nothing but typos lately#armand/daniel#fic: our house#tw: sa#fic asks

Aw man. Today's the last day of @tristampparty and I am surprisingly sad about it. I'll be catching up the days I missed at some point, but I've chucked all that I've written, including today, into a google document and I apparently wrote 7.5k words over the course of episode 6 to today.
That's! A Lot!
I really wanna thank everyone who reblogged and gave me their additional thoughts/commentary, and special thanks to Revenantghost for organizing this whole thing! you do good work for this fandom i am giving u a gold star
With that, here we go into Episode 0 - High Noon at July. CWs for pregnancy discussion and a less detailed than last time but still present analysis of sexual assault and transphobia, marked with a [CW] Ofc, spoilers for Trimax and Tristamp
Cowboy kid Knives is something u can pry from my cold dead hands but it's also,,, I don't watch a lot of westerns, but the way Knives describes it seems like he likes the high action and justice. Which yea. yeah.
A lot of ppl interpret Vash then saying that he doesn't like that sorta stuff as him having always had pacifistic tendencies but I don't really read it that way? I just see him being rather similar to Trimax Vash - chill kid with his own interests and hobbies and Knives being the very oversensitive kid so outshines him initially.
Regardless of version of Trigun (except 98. 98 didn't know shit about knives lmao), Vash and Knives have always started off wanting to coexist and be peaceful; it's just how they reacted to it later that differs. In this case, Knives wants to stand up for his friends and make a peaceful world through that, and Vash is more passive in that he just wants to have faith in humanity.
Not to mention they are kids. Young, idealistic kids. This is pre-Tesla, they don't know the extent of how horrible the world is. The loss of innocence and subsequent breakdowns relating to The Horrors is yet to come.
[CW] Mmmmm they really don't make the pregnancy imagery subtle now do they dfgkjdfjk
I also think there's like - merit in also interpreting Knives as trans. Not Just because i think he's also very trans coded (A lot of his breakdowns and story arcs have reflections in how some trans men overcompensate masculinity in a Bad Way. That's a very small subsection of trans guys btw but I am speaking from experience. I got better tho). Anyway it makes the fact that Knives is disregarding Vash's bodily autonomy very much Worse if you take the male plants are trans analogy into it.
He's so far gone that he's willing to do to Vash what would be the worst thing to be done to him; Violating his body to rebuild and make him a perfect independent ("remind him of biological reality"), physically overpowering him ("taking the aggressor, commonly masculine role in sexual assault") to do what he wants. Disregarding the wants and needs of the Plants ("women +fem-presenting ppl that he originally set out to protect because he knew their experience and wanted to help and still has that trauma from witnessing that trauma")
Ofc that's just a reading of the scene, but I quite like it as a trans guy because that makes a really good villain with trans themes/motifs! I hate him so much (affectionate)
No, no she doesn't. Meryl is making a choice and she's gonna damn well stick to it! She's been given agency and she's gonna spend it in the most eldritch horrific scene that someone on that planet could spend it lmao. Well, no Knives takes most eldritch and horrific. Meryl's second tho
Okay this fucking scene drives me INSANE. This is a memory, clearly, but it's one that's being tampered with. Vash asks Knives if they can get along with humans, and then Knives immediately messes with the memory to make sure that he says that he'll protect Vash no matter what. But that is very clearly not what was originally said, so... What did he say? What was present day Knives so desperate to cut off?
I've talked about the narrative being biased against Knives a lot, but something I haven't talked about is that Knives kinda tries to contribute to that narrative a lot. He wants to seem like he never cared about humans, he wants to seem like he always planned this and was going for justice ever since he was a kid. He tells Vash the Tesla incident was just a small grain of sand, he uses Luida to tell everyone he wants to kill Rem, he's unbearably cruel to Vash to make his point. The only difference is that he wants to be right.
So he doesn't let us see what the kid version of him says, because that would contradict the narrative he's built for himself.
I really wanna give props to Studio Orange here for both the design and way they modelled the wing here, that's a really difficult task when the guy you're putting a wing on has a tight as hell bodysuit. But the anatomy holds up surprisingly well!
Also many people have pointed out that the plant mech looks a lot like Rem, and Knives staring into the face of a Plantish representation of his mother that is created and controlled subconsciously by his brother and saying he was rejected is. It sure is a scene!
ONCE AGAIN. INCREDIBLE EFFECTS. I also would like to once again point out the angelic motifs of Knives' design here.
Also Vash saying this is SO important because Meryl!!! is so important!!! I see a lot of people brush Meryl's space in the story off and it Enrages me because Meryl is one of the most important people to Vash. Aside from our frontline yaoi soldier Nicholas D. Wolfwood, Meryl has one of the most tangible impacts on Vash's character.
When Vash is in his breakdown in Trimax, Meryl is the one to kneel at his side and believe in him; When Vash is having his god awful horrible mindscape time in Tristamp, Meryl does the same. When Meryl is kidnapped in Trimax, Vash instantly jumps out of a window in the chance of getting her back. Vash trusted her enough to fire the ion cannon in the sand steamer episode. He immediately went to July the moment she and Roberto were kidnapped.
Meryl has so much faith in Vash and she's insane for that, but Vash recognizes her and that faith pays off in giving him the strength to carry on. He heard her voice, too :]
Also oh to be floating slowly down to the floor while you're a meter away from a cube with the power of an atom bomb while someone named Millions Knives is summoning millions of knives in front of u. Meryl has guts, man.
And now that Vash has gotten his gun back, he's back to using it as a tonfa! (check I think my analysis of episode 7 for more on that). Watching for the swing blocks, the forearm guard, and thwacking the knife tendrils out of the way
This fight scene has soooo much love and care and detail in it I love it so much actually. From seeing Vash's bullets to all the expressions and beautifully detailed firing, there's so much detail in a quick space that you really have to slow it down to see everything.
Seriously how strong is Knives to be able to have a feasible chance again Vash's prosthetic - and Vash matches him! Also the chomp
Now something that I have the shakiest of theories on is that after summoning The Cube, Vash starts moving in a far more controlled manner, he stands still when reloading, he has his movement flurries and then stands still to aim. Which uh. Studio Orange works in 3d, but those are 2d animation techniques. He's moving like 98 Vash.
There's a lot I admire about Studio Orange's use of 3d (I am a mid-tier 2d artist lmao) but I love love love that they're able to get all these really nice, creative camera shots that would be impractical in 2d (all those overhead shots, for example, have a chance of turning about bad/looking weird in 2d, and puts more strain on animators, but 3d you have the models from every angle already. 3d isn't easier by any means, but it does have its strengths)
Also. how Did Wolfwood get over here, dare I ask. mans climbed a tower in just a few minutes what is Wrong with him
Also a nice detail, Vash usually has perfect trigger discipline, but he falters here against Knives, probably because he's been already shooting, but hey, he's stressed. I'll give him a break.
I also appreciate exactly how superhuman Wolfwood is now. Tristamp Wolfwood is on a different level. Like 98 Wolfwood is just some (attractive) guy, Trimax Wolfwood has a lot of gory body horror going on and a subtle kind of endurance/strength, but Tristamp Wolfwood just jumped off a very tall building holding a grown woman and the Punisher and was fine.
Oh hey, same symbol on the tower as was on the sandsteamer and on Vash's wanted poster - symbol of July, probably
Very horribly, Knives probably did just save Vash's life here. But also the rest of July's life (though ofc he just extended the timer)....
I'm not quite sure When Vash started using plant bullets, but he's definitely using them now. Also the nails on his prosthetic are a nice touch!
THE FLYING SAUCER STRIKES AGAIN. I wonder if that's gonna be the basis of the Ark, if that's the route season 2 goes.
I also. Was that allI the Plants collected that escaped in this, or were there a bunch still running in July that get obliterated too? Did Knives inadvertently cause the death of more plants? I mean, when Knives gets revived in Trimax he definitely causes the death of at least 2 plants (there are a couple of bulbs in the background of the blast radius, plus the one that was used to revive him... she uh. Didn't look like she was doing so hot)
Vash's little speech is always so,,, intense. He has such a strong sense of character and it's admirable how well he sticks to his morals despite it all.
On a more body horror note, Knives can survive a long fucking time trying to grab The Cube. In Trimax he gets hit with the angel arm and practically disemboweled instantly, but Tristamp Knives can take over a minute of just like. being right in the direct path of fire. They're really gonna have to work to reconstruct him. Good luck, Legato!
UFO SPOTTED !!! LEAVING JULY AS IT IS DESTROYED !! NOT CLICKBAIT !!!
^ I made that long ago and needed to use it somewhere dfgkjdfg
[RAUCOUS CHEERING]
And ofc I have to bring up Eriks :] I don't actually have too much to say abt him. Studio Orange strip this man and make him bark like a dog next season or we will riot
CHRONICA MENTION!!!!! YAYYYYYY
And that's kinda. It.
Man I have had such fun over the last 12 days, I've really discovered a love for analyzing and theories and putting that out there and chatting with people about Trigun :] I should do this more often lmao but I do want to get back to drawing. I'll find a balance, then!
Thank you all for coming, and Wow if you made it this far I must be doing something right lmao.

You have a very wholesome energy on this blog.
Very proud of your resilience, I have multiple family members who struggle with bipolar disorder including my brother and he has unfortunately become very estranged, in and out of jail, difficult to be around if not harmful at times and refuses to seek help or medicate despite all the help and rehab over the years. Sometimes it feels very hopeless and sad, especially the fear that I might have those symptoms too one day, but I am grateful and soothed that there are stories of hope and healing and positivity like yours.
Wishing the best for you and your daughter! 💗
Thanks! 🩷
My bipolar has put me in the hospital 10 times. For better or worse I seem to only get manic episodes. This is tricky because being manic actually feels great. The problem is that you don't get anything done.
Untreated mania would have made getting through college or holding down a job relatively impossible. (It's still very hard, even with treatment.)
The key for me was finding help I liked and respected early in my life.
Drawing the line between where I stop and my insanity starts was a very personal question. I believe an objective scientific definition is best, but the answer may be different for others.
When I talk about my illness, I include a personal request: I ask that if people think I'm acting strangely to go online and look up the latest criteria for a Bipolar I Disorder Manic Episode in the DSM.
(As of the DSM-5, there are 7 symptoms and having 3 or 4 for a week is the threshold for a manic episode.)
If I need help, get me help but otherwise: I need to be allowed to get excited about my life without my friends and family worrying "Oh no! It's happening again."
Resources ☎️
I've been seeing my therapist for about 20 years now.
If you are interested you can probably find him by Googling "Harold L. Boerlin MD, Irvine CA". He's been doing phone visits since COVID.
He may be able to help you even if you don't live in California, if you are willing to fly out for some initial consultations. I actually have no idea how that would work but I can't recommend him enough.
Dr. B is both a psychologist and a psychiatrist. (He has a medical degree from Harvard.)
Letting someone change you fundamentally with medication is a big ask. However had I not decided this is what I want all those years ago, I would probably be homeless and perhaps have very strained relationships with friends and family today. (My family is also amazing by the way.)
Political Advocacy 🇺🇸📢
In my opinion, the mental health care system in the US is on the brink of collapse.
Too many professionals are not trained in hard science and some are handing out diagnosis like candy.
Recent "Mandated Reporter" laws are vague, ineffective and shatter the essential sacred trust between a client and a therapist.
Mental health parity laws for insurance companies do not work and I strongly advocate for MH to be a seperate insurance the way dental and vision are (with well-funded public assistance programs.)
While in the hospital I've seen human beings get "processed" and it is horrific.
I am in awe of the limitless compassion of most whitecoats (my name for them). However, publicly available resources are often not as unlimited.
Sick patients come in on a 5150 for a 3-day hold, yelling and hitting people. They get some food and shelter for a bit but refuse further help.
Then sometimes doctors fall short. They give up and just give the patient a heavy sedative so they will stop yelling and hitting people.
Then the patient doesn't voluntarily extend to 14 day treatment. They get tossed out on the street like garbage and the cycle repeats.

Yes, I know, I'm shocked too -- but once again, it seems, I have to talk about Disney's Wish. Truthfully, this entire analysis was one I never set out to write, but I felt like I had to after having a really good conversation with my mum about this deleted scene featuring Asha's grandpa, Sabino; the sentiment expressed by some Disney fans that its inclusion would've helped fix the film; and even the purported perspective that the development team was deeply unhappy about the corporate decision to cut it.
So first off -- do I think this scene is that magical missing piece that would've fixed Wish? Not exactly. I do think that Sabino putting the idea of wishes being worth fighting for into words for Asha that she even could've reprised later while fighting Magnifico could've been very powerful. Just imagine how much stronger the story would've been if Asha had used Sabino's song to rally the town against Magnifico -- not only creating the payoff of Asha making her dear Saba's wish of inspiring people as well as her own wish to make things in Rosas better come true, but ALSO bringing Magnifico's worst fears of rebellion against his rule to life in an ironic twist! But even if including this scene could've improved the film, I don't think it would've fixed everything wrong with its story and characters. It did, however, inspire that really fun conversation with my mum, and we realized together what this scene at least partially provides that the finished film didn't --
A reason to care about the wishes Magnifico hoards away.
When I was in college, I took a screenwriting class, and one of the most important lessons the professor taught us was to give your main character(s) a strong desire and then give your audience three strong, disparate reasons to root for your character in reaching their goal. This way, if one of the reasons doesn't resonate with a member of your audience, maybe another one will. The more reasons you give your character to want to succeed, the more people in your audience are likely to feel for your character's position and support them in their actions.
Let's use Disney-Pixar's absolute masterpiece Finding Nemo as an example, just for kicks. Marlin wants to save his son, Nemo, after he gets captured and taken away by human scuba divers. The audience wants Marlin to succeed because his reasons include --
Love. Marlin loves his son very much and is very protective of him, partly because Nemo has a disability that Marlin worries puts him at particular risk being on his own.
Past trauma. As seen in the prologue of the film, Marlin lost the entire rest of his family to a horrific barracuda attack that also resulted in injuring Nemo while he was still an egg, so Nemo is the only family Marlin has left.
Guilt. Marlin feels responsible for what happened to Nemo, because they were in the midst of a fight about Marlin's helicopter parenting when Nemo put himself so close to the human boat and got captured.
The thought process behind this writing trick is that you want your audience to care about what your character is working toward. This is how you get an audience really emotionally invested in their struggles and story, and it also helps define who the character is as a person, understanding not just what they want, but seeing the lengths they'll go to in order to chase that desire. And this is what Wish seems to understand symbolically, but not enough to use this knowledge while shaping its screenplay or characters.
In the finale of the film, all of the people in Rosas whose wishes were taken can still gather enough "stardust" or "magic" or "dreaming whatever" to defeat Magnifico without them. The magic is inside of them, even without the contents of the bubbles Magnifico took from them -- because our wishes, dreams, and ambitions come from who we are, as people. They're a piece of us -- they're informed by who we are -- our happy memories, our past scars, our personalities and hobbies and values. What makes dreams coming true so beautiful is seeing someone become a more complete version of themselves through it!
And yet...what do we learn about any of these characters that tie into these wishes and why it's so important their wishes be returned and/or granted? What visually communicates that these wishes are so integral to these people's personalities and souls that they're a pale shadow of who they used to be without them? What emotional justification is there for anyone to care if Rosas's citizens achieve these flights of fancy? Are there any real stakes or grave consequences if those wishes aren't granted?
Why do we care if this one lady wishes she could fly, or this other one wants to make dresses? What do we care if this one person wants to sail a ship and travel the world? This one guy wants to climb a mountain or something, but...so what? We don't know any of them from Adam! The film tells us that these wishes are really important to these people, but we don't get any emotional reasons to be invested in whether or not these people's individual wishes come true.
Even characters we do meet like Simon -- what about him made him want to be a knight? Where did that wish come from, in his character? Was it fueled by misguided patriotism? A desire for glory? Being bullied as a child and wanting to prevent others from going through the same thing? We have no idea! Imagine how much more Simon's "betrayal" scene would've hurt if we'd gotten to know Simon as this dreamy, idealistic person who grew up reading fairy tales about knights bravely protecting their kingdom and being heralded for it, only for that wish to be twisted by Magnifico to make Simon serve his king blindly with no free will of his own. Imagine how much more interesting of a character Simon would've been if there had been real context behind that wish he'd made and given up, and how much more interesting his relationships with his friends could've been as a result.
What about Asha's mother? Her wish is treated as incredibly important in the film, since Asha tries to steal it from Magnifico like she did Sabino's and Asha and her family react with such upset when Magnifico crushes it, and yet we never once learn what the wish even was. Even when the wish is reformed and returned to Asha's mother, we STILL never learn what it was and by extension what it meant to her mom and why it was a bad thing that it got crushed. Why should we believe this wish of Asha's mum's is so important if we never even learn what it is? Because the film said it's important? In the immortal words of Will Turner,
(source)
Just look at Joe Gardner in Pixar's Soul. Would you care so much about him wanting to get back to the world of the living if you didn't learn through the film that he'd been dreaming of playing jazz since he was a child and had finally landed this big gig with a jazz band after years of rejection and his own mother never supporting his dream right before dying? Would Joe have connected with 22 the way he had over the course of the story if it weren't for not only his goal, but the character, passions, and world view that fueled his pursuit of that goal in the first place?
My mum, while we had this discussion of ours, put forward her own experience. When she was a young woman, she dreamed of having a family of her own: a husband, 2.5 kids, a house with a white picket fence where people could gather together. Over time, though, Mum kind of resigned herself to the reality that it probably wasn't going to happen -- she was pretty solidly focused on her career, she hadn't had much luck in her long-term relationships, and she'd gotten to an age that having her own children was incredibly unlikely. This doesn't mean my mum lost that desire for family -- it's still a part of her, and it informs who she is as a person. She's always taken care of the many cats she's had over the years as if they were her children. She made and has kept life-long friendships with people who've become like siblings to her. She even ended up becoming something like a mother figure for her ex-boyfriend's daughter from a previous marriage, while she and that boyfriend were together. And when I was conceived (pretty miraculously too!), my mum never hesitated for a moment about whether or not she wanted me. Even if my father had chosen not to stand by her and me, she would've pursued that dream of motherhood she'd thought was lost to her all the same.
THIS is what the deleted Sabino scene has that the finished film doesn't, though still in a bite-size amount. The reason the filmmakers give us for why we should care about Sabino's wish (and, one could argue, the town's wishes) is that when his wish is returned to him, it allows Sabino to connect more deeply with his granddaughter and his daughter-in-law through the music he's so passionate about.
The reason we the audience should care about Sabino's wish is the connection he makes with others.
We still don't know where that wish came from in Sabino's character or back-story, and the theme of connection through one's dreams is something that certainly could've been explored more if it had been kept...but for the first time, through this deleted scene, the filmmakers gave us a reason to care about that little magic bubble besides just telling us that they represent a heart's deepest desire and we should want everyone's wishes to come true because wishes are good. (Which honestly has a lot of problems -- the film never even bothers to explore any scenarios where wishes could truly be dangerous or morally wrong to grant, such as a wish to rule this particular kingdom or that this one person will marry you, regardless of their opinion on the matter.)
The song Sabino sings in this scene says that if a wish is powerful enough to fill your heart and make it "close to breaking," then it's one "worth making." But to tell a story worth telling and create characters worth rooting for, you need to show -- not just verbally explain -- why your audience should care.
#disney wish#disney#wish (2023)#wish#opinion#analysis#sabino#asha#oh boy here i go#for the record that will turner reference is my mum talking#we both find the 'why is the rum gone remix' absolutely hilarious and as we were talking about this she referenced it#and I just HAD to include it XDDD

Would you consider the Freelance Surgeon from the Endacopia demo a yandere? I know murdering your lover(s) doesn't instantly qualify someone as one, but if you think about it a little and maybe taking the underground in to account, they could be? There isn't much known about them since it's just a demo but they do claim they did it out of "love." Or I am just reaching? Sorry if I am! Thanks for all the great recommendations by the way :)
Endacopia is pretty fun, and not a game I normally play for this blog, so it made it a cool experience. Endacopia is basically one of those indie horrors, similar to petscop except it's a point and click game. It's mostly comedic with tones of horror in certain places, with the Freelance Surgeon being one of the main aspects of horror.
I'm going to go fairly briefly into the game since the demo isn't super long. The story starts out with the boy Mellow, who is inside his room. After exploring and messing around, he meets a sign named Tip in the hallway and goes to the bathroom area after hearing the sound. After summoning a creature from the toilet, it asks Mellow for a code. Mellow has to go back and receive the code from a creature behind one of the drawings. Upon leaving, he is attacked by a creature that was hidden as the clock on the wall (named Clocky). After a fun mini game of fighting it, Mellow is free to go back into the bathroom where he is taken by the monster and the demo ends.
Before Mellow goes back into the bathroom to give the code, we can see one of the many paintings in the hallway has been knocked down. Upon going inside, we see a surgeon working on a surgery. We can ask him who he is and he sings a little jingle which you can hear here.
youtube
Basically he sings about how he's a brilliant surgeon, that's ahead of his time and how he loved two people (presumably): someone strong and someone beautiful. He ends up combining them as a result to create his bride. He then sings about how his procedures can save the world, how he does it for love, his bride and for the world itself.
He also confirms that he is the one who created Clocky and that he seems to have the ability to make life and revive it. When asked where his bride is, he responds "Underground".
You can actually see where his bride is by interacting with the lights in the hallway to say the word "Underground". After this, Mellow is dragged under the floor into the underground. There he states he can't really see or feel anything (other than being cold), but you can interact with various objects there like a giant comb, some teeth and tooth picks and a book. When interacting, there are horrific images of surgeries, the combination of the two loved ones that the Freelance Surgeon sings about, with multiples of teeth, eyes, hair and limbs.
There is also an elevator that is positioned in the top left corner. Standing there with the candle that is in your inventory, will cause the elevator to eventually open, leading into going to see the horrific creature that is the Freelance Surgeon's Bride. Clicking on it will cause it to scream and after the fifth click, the screen blacks out and the game crashes.
The Freelance surgeon is the center of the horror in Endacopia, with the name possibly also being a reference to this (enda meaning married/married to, and copia meaning to clone or double). It seems far different from the rest of the game which, although does have some uncanny things and some horror elements is mostly pretty comedic. The concept of having a yandere that fuses two of their lovers together is immensely interesting, since I don't think I've ever heard of such a thing before. Would that still be considered a yandere since they loved two people? Does it get resolved when they are fused into one body? Is it really love? Just like you were saying, it is hard to tell since we don't actually know that much about the Freelance Surgeon and when it comes to emotions, especially love in media, it isn't always as clear cut, since it can often be up to interpretation. I do think it is possible that he is a yandere considering he does apparently keep his bride alive and takes care of them, though again the idea of fusing two people does make it a bit iffy, since usually yanderes tend to love one person (but again, it's resolved when they're combined into one? I suppose?), plus we don't really know the whole picture of what's going on, which means there's a lot of wiggle room for it possibly not really being a yandere, but rather some sort of egotism that the Freelance Surgeon has.
But yeah, like you said. It's hard to say. I don't like jumping too much into conclusions until we have much more definitive evidence since things could always change or be interpreted differently. This is especially true since this is a demo and can be subjected to change. I can see where you're coming from though. It is a very fun game, and I like the puzzles ( I died to clocky more than I probably should have lol) and it is very well made. I would recommend people play it since it is very cool and fun and has hidden secrets which are always cool!

AITA for interrupting my friend while he was at work?
I am 18M, my friend S (????M, honestly could be 30 or 60)and I go way back to a a few months ago when I saved his life (long story, but any good Christian would have done the same). But he's always been... odd and made me promise to never question him, which I've listened to. After arriving home from our trip, S told me some TL;DR story about a barber's wife or something, idk wasn't really listening because I was thinking about the rubies of Tibet, but I hope this musical theme doesn't come back later.
Anyway, I was wandering the streets of my favorite city and I know I sound like a stalker but I fell in love with this girl J (16F) who was singing to a bird on a balcony so I bought that bird and gave it to her (the bird later ended up dying horrifically but that's not why I might be the asshole). This girl has adoptive dad T(65M) who's a judge I guess and a weird uncle who's a cop or something, idk what a beadle even does. Anyway they chased me away for telling this girl I feel her (not like that) and I would steal her (figuratively but maybe not?). But that's also not why I'm the asshole because it turns out T is trying to marry J against her will even though he's her adoptive father. I don't get it either but it upset J so much that she was going to poison herself.
So I hatched a plan to literally steal her, she agreed to marry me on a day of the week ending with Y and said she liked my name (in that order). This is where my friend S comes in, I vaguely remembered he said had some conflict with some pious vulture of the law, so I would think he would be on my side, and he agreed to let me use his tonsorial parlor as a safe house to hide J until I can hire a chaise to bring us to my hometown. Maybe in hindsight I should have hired the chaise first and then picked up J but that's okay. Anyway after confirming the plan with J, I was so excited to see S to tell him that J and I were getting married, that I didn't even realize that S was in the middle of his job as a barber and his customer got mad because he was also T, J's creepy adoptive father. Anyway, that foiled my plan to steal J because T locked her in some obscure retreat where I can't find her. But also S was so mad at me for some reason? I'm sorry I lost him a customer but his barber shop seems to be doing a lot better since I scared T away. I know I have bigger problems, but S is still mad at me.
So reddit, AITA for interrupting my friend?

Your Pursuit of Perfection
Story and Artwork By: @GachaWolfieBloom
Chapter 8: Are You Ready For The Next Show?
Summary: A few months after the events of WOTFI 2023, SMG4 starts having really bad dreams about the "Its gotta be perfect" incident. One night however, his fear allows the nightmares to break through and he gets taken to a horrific dimension. He finally meets the tv adware, who manipulates him into returning to his insane ways, intent on claiming much more than the perfect video. Now it's up to his friends to stop this madness and save SMG4. Can they do it in time or will they lose SMG4 forever? (In case you are unaware this is a sequel to the its gotta be perfect movie)
Tags: angst, its gotta be perfect, love confession, luigi, mario, meggy, melony, nightmares, scary, smg3, smg4, smg34, smg3 x smg4, tari, tv adware
Swag and Chris were getting the military ready while the others were discussing what to do. Karen was keeping her kids and the pets safe as she had kind of that caring mother's side to her. "The preparations are almost complete. If something is coming then we will be ready." Swag was more excited for this as he hoped it would be just like the last time. "IF THERE IS A DISTURBANCE IN MY TOWN THEN I'LL BE READY!" Chris raised an eyebrow and said "You'll be ready?"
"SHUT UP CHRIS!" Shroomy came up to them and said "Scoutmaster Shroomy is here to help anyway he can!" Swag wasn't convinced, but Chris knew that they would need all the help they could get. "We must hurry before-" Suddenly a striking thunder sound shook the ground. A shadow like creature of a familiar figure was hovering above them. The citizens started panicking as they ran in different directions.
"May I offer you some corn in these trying times?" Rob offered, but no-one listened. "SMG4 IS EVIL AGAIN! QUICK ARM THE TANKS!" Chris watched as he noticed something different, but he couldn't tell what it was. "But he doesn't look like..."
Back in the nightmare dimension, the presumable Smg4 spoke as the others looked horrified. "Its true that you have defeated me before, but what will you do now that I have returned? Without all of you, your little powers are useless. At bit of a sticky situation isn't it?"
Bob showed no fear as he yelled out "BRO I AIN'T SCARED OF YOUR PINK CRAP! COME AT ME!" Smg4 laughed and said "Really? That's the best you got. I've heard of much better comebacks than that." Meggy tried to reach out to him as she said in a concerned tone "Four? Can you hear me? You have to fight it!"
The man was getting annoyed as he took more serious approach. "You are all so dense! Remember those forces you all 'destroyed' with your little powers when the TV Adware was around? Well guess what? You didn't do such a great job after all. He now controls your friend... me I suppose. SMG4 IS GONE!"
The TV Adware was watching this all unfold with a creepy but pleased smile on his face. Saiko stood her ground as she said "I don't believe you. Four is still in there and I'm sure of it!" Mario pushed Saiko aside as he had his own plan. "Smg4 just needs a little reassurance from his best friend! Something only he would remember!" He got into Four's face and started remencing a memory of them.
"Likkkkeee Smg4 remember when you and Smg3 got trapped in the igloo and Mario had to come and save you! He had found you two making love to each other and you were so embarrassed that you made Mario promise to never ever tell!" Four immediately froze, but then rolled his eyes when Mario realized what he did. "Oops. Mario just did." Three wasn't really worried about what Mario had just spilled about him as he couldn't bear to see this awful sight. He tried to bring Four back by giving him words of encouragement like last time.
"Four? It's me Three. You know me right? I...you... I don't want to lose you again. Please come back." It seemed to be working as he saw tears forming in the man's eyes. His pupils went to their usual blue for a second and his eyebrows went soft. "Three..." However, the attempt failed as Four shut his eyes and clenched his fists. He stomped his foot hard on the ground and yelled "ENOUGH!"
He turned towards Three and said "You had so much power and what did you give it up for? These weaklings?" Three resisted as he shot back "You're wrong!" He tried to sway Three into returning to his state of guilt. "If you had just prevented me from falling back to my past, your precious friends could have been spared. You have done this to all of us and we will never forgive you!"
Meggy pulled him away and said "Don't listen to him Three! He's trying to get into your head!" Four inched closer. "They say that, but who could possibly forgive someone who almost killed them like that?"
Mario decided to stand up to this big bully and said "Alright fake Smg4! Mario is not sorry and there are many embarrassing moments where that one came from!" The cracks etched deeper on Four's face as the dark, goopy creatures surrounded all of them. "It doesn't matter what you say. I am taking over the Showgrounds and you will be powerless to stop it! Take them down!" The creatures immediately attacked, swarming and whooshing around the crew. Saiko started to run from one while shouting "Come get me you stupid tentacle!"
Another one was coming after her, but she dodged both of them at the last second, causing them to crash into each other. Meggy defended herself with her splatshot, One and Two with their meme powers, and the others had their own unique talents for dealing with them. Meggy didn't realize that one of the creatures was behind her and was about to pounce on her when...
Three stopped it and yelled "Oh no you don't! I already let you take one of my friends! I'm not letting you do it to another!" The creature flared around, but it didn't take long for Three to get exhausted. The tentacle flung him off into the distance. "THREE!" Meggy called out, but it was too late. The creatures were getting stronger and the others couldn't fight them off any longer.
As Meggy found herself being wrapped up by one of the tentacles, she called out to One and Two. "Go home and get help!" Two cried out "We can't just leave you here!" Saiko called out "You have to go now or the Showgrounds won't stand a chance!"
"We'll be okay!" Tari said to try and convince them. One placed his hand on Two's shoulder and they both nodded. They teleported themselves back home, but before they did, they both said "Hang tight. We'll come back for you!"
They were all caught by the creatures as Four said "Take them to the dungeon. I'll deal with them later." The creatures took off with them while Mario still had confidence he could escape. "Mario will get out! You'll see!" He tried wiggling, but no amount of effort would get him to escape the grasp.
As they walked off, the TV Adware walked up to Four. "Remember our deal. Make sure that they do not stand in our way this time." He slowly nodded and said "Don't worry. This time they won't stand in our way.”
The Showgrounds will be mine…

As are aware of Bruce's more negative character traits, who while not liking them doesn't dismiss them as a non canon aberration, you seem like the person to ask this question.
Do you think Gut's could be a good comparison as far as characters go in terms of being someone who is capable of great kindness & great cruelty, who is meant to be sympathetic but can at time horrify.
Obviously Guts having been written by one author for one story is a notably more coherent character. This is more of a general comparison if someone embodying two extremes & still making sense.
Guts in the Misty Valley arc could both save & be very cool towards a young child & be a source of comfort, but could also switch to holding a knife to that same child's throat to lure in an enemy for a surprise attack & still feel coherent.
Do you think a well written Batman could be handled as such, and or that Batman as he largely stands in terms of overall collective works could be regarded in a similar light?
I think the sheer insurmountable difference in the writing quality is what makes the comparison difficult. The way I'd describe it is Guts feels like an incredibly well written dark fucked up antihero and Batman feels like a very badly written morally grey goodguy. It's hard to reconcile Bruce's good with his bad because most of the time it genuinely feels like him being kind of a monster happens unintentionally thanks to writers just having no clue what they're doing. Like, clearly during the whole Stephanie War Games saga the audience was supposed to sympathize with Bruce over her but like... they sorta forgot to make him sympathetic and forgot to make Stephanie do anything bad besides being a teenaged girl so the result his he just comes across like a willfully abusive piece of shit motivated apparently by pure spite. Or, again, by pure misogyny if you take Chuck Dixon's word for it. Or whenever he's casually gleefully cruel to criminals and treats them like animals. Most of the time it doesn't feel like the story is commenting on Batman's own issues, it just kinda feels like it's being written by people who think the thoughtless brutality is okay and/or super cool actually and are using Bruce as a vicarious power fantasy. Or all the times they have him lash out with physical violence against his kids, do they actually get how screwed up and over the line that is? Because it feels more like the writers are just like "nah, it's cool, they're not his real kids so it doesn't count as child abuse, just regular abuse which is fine." I've said it before but it genuinely feels like writers think him just being Batman (the beloved childhood icon of whole generations) is a free pass to have him constantly act as awful as they feel like and never face consequences, learn any lessons or grow as a person while expecting everyone to still like him for some reason. I don't think there really is a way to square Batman's constant shittiness with the good person we're supposed to take him to be. Instead it just ends up feeling like there's two Batmans; one who's gruff, antisocial and scary but ultimately a hero who always means well... and another who is a totally incoherently horrible leech of a human being who everyone inexplicably has infinite patience for, presumably because they mistake him for the first guy. On the other hand, Berserk clearly at least understands that the extremes of bastardry Guts ends up going to are indeed extremes. They actually endeavor to make it make internal sense for the character. The dude is at any one time just barely clinging to his sanity after all the horrific shit he's lived through and every single time he tries to let his guard down and start healing the universe punishes him for it, leaving him broken all over again. He ends up being sympathetic because he's somehow only as much of a monster as he is. Even at his absolute darkest he's managed to hold on to even just the faintest glimmer of his humanity despite everything. Also to be perfectly honest, accounting for the sheer difference in quantity of content I would put money on Guts having a much higher proportional rate of humanizing moments of genuine kindness for contrast than Bruce does, even if he does also go a whole lot darker than Bruce ever has.
So if anything the comparison feels more like: here's what to do and here's what not to do.

I hope in the nearing future all Levi x Oc/ Levi x reader shippers see how mentally delusional you all are. I know for a fact your weirdo behavior will be frown upon soon. Also keep in your lane and shut your mouth up about Satosugu and other gay ships. We all knew your group of weirdos will start coming after every gay ship that makes y'all itch.
And that bullshit you all spew about not being homophobic because you have gay relatives is funny as hell. My Dad has a gay son and he's still homophobic so you all did nothing with that bullcrap
Even if you claim Levi isn't gay, it doesn't stop your friends from writing Levi x original male characters. But you guys don't because your homophobic asses can't handle the thought of him being bisexual even though isayama himself said he likes to see Levi with men by calling himself a Levi yaoi enjoyer. If he had said he likes seeing Levi with red haired women you all would have eaten that up. I think it was just fair that that anon called you all retarded. I was giggling so hard. Saying this as a Satosugu shipper btw. Again, tell your friends to not add us into your dumbass discord.
Oh. It's you. You're back, huh? Haven't had enough of getting your ass handed to you? Well, some people just don't know when to quit.
You "giggled" when "that anon" called us "retards"? Tell me you're a 12 year old boy without telling me you're a 12 year old boy.
You're accusing me of being a self-shipper, but everyone who follows me and pays even the most moderate amount of attention knows I don't ship Levi with anyone, including self-shipping. I make it a point again and again to reiterate that about myself. But then, that's all people like you have, isn't it? There's nothing to actually back up your deluded insistence that Levi is gay or in love with Erwin, but you're so deliriously obsessed with the notion, that any time anyone actually points it out, the only thing you can resort to is accusations of bigotry and the pitiful attempt to frame every other ship as "delusional" and "perverse", as if that somehow serves as proof of Levi's romantic interest in Erwin, or anyone else. The only thing it serves as proof of is your pathological inability to accept reality.
I don't claim anything about Levi's sexuality, one way or the other, because there's nothing in canon, or in Isayama's interviews, which addresses Levi's sexuality, period. Everything you say, everything you claim, every psychologically warped belief you hold about Levi, is based on nothing but conjecture, assumption, speculation and theory rooted in conspiracy. You literally have no foundation for anything you claim.
We don't know if Levi is gay, or straight, or asexual, or bisexual. And we don't know because it's irrelevant to his character. You and your ilk are the only ones who can't seem to accept that irrefutable fact, and you and your ilk are the only ones who are dumb enough, and pathetic enough, to reduce a character who's romantic life and sexual orientation have no bearing whatsoever on his actual story and person, and make it the only thing about him that you talk about or care about. You base your entire interaction and relationship to this piece of art on something that only exists in your head, and then you spend all your time online harassing people over it, bullying and insulting them, and accusing them of the very things you yourself are guilty of, all for the horrific crime of pointing out to you that your delusions, I'm so sorry to reiterate, aren't canon.
You aren't a Levi fan. You aren't even an Erwin fan. You aren't a fan of Gojo either, or of Geto. You're a fan of your own fantasies. Something which has zero relation or connection to Isayama's actual work, or to Gege's work either.
But keep trying. Keep making baseless accusations about people you know nothing about. It tracks for you, perfectly. After all, your entire fandom experience revolves around baseless, foundationless fantasy, so you might as well go all the way, and make your interactions with other people just as tightly wrapped in delusion and self-soothing lies.
