also having a character say the word "buddy" last chapter has me thinking it might (? not sure) be worth providing some context of... okay. i am SO not sure if this is an actual thing or just anecdotal. but i remember once being a fan of this ongoing comic and one update came out where the mc was distraught about something and called his boyfriend (a canadian character), who said smth like "what's wrong bud?" and all the non-canadian fans reacted like "did he just call his bf BUD? lmao this emotionally repressed ass he's so funny" meanwhile all the canadian fans went "did he just say BUD? OMG thats so SOFFTTTT my hearts gonna explode alskdlaskjdajsd" which got the fandom discussing it, and people made it out like it was a cultural thing for canadians. again not sure if thats real or just one weird moment of youthful groupthink. but just know that my shit's written from a canadian perspective and if you see the word bud/buddy in my work its probably intended to be read in a tone of sweet, tender loving care. i... think. im totally blanking rn on whether i ever employ buddy in other contexts. i feel like i am fucking gaslighting myself on this one what the hell

taffy: awkward as ever. kids like him, he does not like kids. at the very least, he just doesnt know what to do with them. theyre like climbing his leg and asking him things in weird little kid language and hes like “uhhhhh what language is this.” hes the type when some lady is like “hold my baby!!” he holds it upside down and arms length away while coco cackles at him

and ofc lime: the guy that does the :p face to kids on the bus, helps teach them how to tie their shoes, pushes them on swings when they ask him, goes out of his way to help the kid find his lost toy or whatever, scares the shit out of bullys, teaches them how to play baseball (i like to think that over the timeskip he helps as like an assistant coach for the little league), and teaches them how to stick up for themselves and others (i should mention that a majority of limes soft interactions with these specific age groups is often not around his classmates. if any of them DO catch him being soft theyre either like “AW HES SECRETLY SOFT” or “HOW COME YOURE NOT NICE TO ME LIKE THAT?!” either way he says f off and whacks them)

I would do angst but I get too many ideas for it that won’t last for 1-2 panels- like how Piers would be into rock but also some sad Boi hours music, his little sister being the only person he really cares about, how he goes crazy goes stupid- but slowly gets sad and just lays on the ground and sobs- his sister constantly tells him to get over it and to stop being a wuss- being lazy- him losing his voice constantly (due to singing his emotions out)- Always in bed and refusing to get out of his room for days- him always trying to ignore and pretend that Raihan doesn’t exist but is basically stuck around him and he fuckin panics all the time- so on so forth you get the idea- Piers is really edgy and depressed, but isn’t really that selfish even though he tries to be.
