Tired of the CONSTANT "cozy" "wholesome" "comfy" themes. and i kNOWWWW that's their Brand now. but i've been playing the console games like crazy (hence my absence across my blogs) and it just makes me realize how much i miss when the game was more crude??? the game used to be far more mature and chaotic, not... "wholesome 😊🍵🫚✨✨" it's just... more boring as a whole, AND satch once described a recent S4 (cozy holidays lmaoo) event as "patronizing" and honestly??? i agree. all the coziness "constant positivity" feels patronizing to me. i'm sure that's not the intention, but it really does comes off that way.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

What isn't a headcanon I have for this character?

(First, I'll introduce you to my most base headcanon for the character- it/its pronouns for Metal Sonic! Link is to a post on my Sonic sideblog explaining that)

Hmmm, I think this time I'll talk about one of the quirks I've been writing Metal with in my redemption longfic that I'm writing for it- Metal doesn't refer to itself as "I" or "me" in its dialogue whenever it talks about itself.

The reason for this is that, in my headcanon land, all Eggman robots are programmed not to use first-person pronouns when they talk! They instead refer to themselves as "this unit" or as an "it" in their speech, I.e., "this unit is undamaged". For Metal, speaking like this is natural, and speaking normally is a conscious effort. Eggman programmed them this way to discourage any pesky feelings of self-importance, but Metal doesn't mind this and will in fact make a point of not speaking normally if someone gives it shit about this phrasing.

(This is in heavy contrast with Omega, who does everything in his power to not speak like this, but the programming still slips through when he's particularly emotional/distracted. That's my favorite way to hint through dialogue that Omega's feeling something strongly.)

Also yeah when i saw the Church and the whole vibe the town gave off i was kinda bracing myself for the same "corrupt Church/cult" plot I've seen 500 times but it's really cool that it turned out to be kind of a mystery plot with like the scriptures and rituals being used as clues :D

Love having a cleric who just does not give a shit and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty 💖💖💖 the "coerce" mechanic is weird tho like maybe i missed some dialogue explaining it but how does it work like does he fist fight their soul with his magic Church powers? Either way it's cool as heck and I like how creative it is :]

Anyway I'm very interested in his story tbh like i have no idea where THAT'S gonna go.
