Who's the blackcat?
Personally I believe Oscar's the black cat and Logan's the golden retriever. For many reasons but I think the best example of it is the marshmallow section of the Prema Trio food challenge video. (It should start there, but if not, the timing is 5:08.) Specifically, the part where Oscar is just dead eye staring at Logan and Logan leans down like one of those bird water rocker things.
But yeah, Oscar is a smug little cat who's very ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ (shout out to that Alpine "every one is going to know how messy you are, Oscar" video and the "these are my ladies" video) and Logan is a golden retriever (if you've seen that clip of Logan beating Dalton and Benny at arcade games in Japan, or him messing around in the car before COTA, you can imagine him wagging his tail, he's so excited).

Yandere HellHound
Mom there's a thing in the yard.... What the fuck is that?ย
Mono.... You dumb whore.
"Mastuuurrr!!! I made a mess :(((( shorry.... What do you mean you put the bowl before the milk and chereal? I didn't know that!!!"
No sleep again this time.ย
No matter how hard you try, the videos, the meditation, hell, even masturbating.
You're too scared that someone is there... Knowing about you. It's been months, months of torture no one can help you with.ย
You knew you had a stalker.ย
Someone was keeping tabs on your life, craving every little dirty secret you have, just to ruin your life.
You had doubts of who it was, maybe the guy that wanted the promotion at your job but you got it instead? A crazy ex? That incel you argued against on the internet?ย
Even a demon, now that they started to show up out of nowhere. Whoever it is, it wants you dead.
You got compromising photos in your work mail. Dog poop in your yard. Razors on your doorstep.
A camera in your window.
Maybe you should get a guard dog... Like your friend suggested. The police didn't move a finger anyway.
The day you decide to leave (after staying inside, terrified to leave and come back to a burnt house) to go to the shelter, your friend calls you.
"I'm at your door! Can I come in? I got a solution for your stalker problem!"
Hesitant, you quietly open the door to see your friend... And a dog.... Fire.... Guy? Thing?
"I thought a normal dog would still be a bit dangerous, so I made a contract with a hellhound on your steed! Did you know they are the tough workers of hell?"
What the fuck?
"This guy can handle anything! And will do anything you ask too, just remember to give him some affection sometimes. Right, Mono?"
"Hello mastur!!! I luv you!!!!" He says half drooling.
.....
Maybe you shouldn't have been friends with a witch. But he seems cozy, and seeing your stalker shitting themselves over this behemoth would probably cleanse your worries.
หสโกษห Some more facts about him! หสโกษห
In this universe, Hellhounds are hardly even considered demons. They are entities made of the hottest fire in hell, handled through their charcoal like skin, the only one capable of handling such heat.
That being said, Mono hates wearing clothes. He uses pants because you order him to, but no shirts.
He has a thorn pattern in his neck, your name in the back.ย
You have an "M" at the center of your back. You only noticed days after you got him.
Completely in love with you. Golden retriever behaviour.
If you do not give him attention for too long, he gets needy, and overheats. Be careful of fires!
Diet consists of: wood, charcoal, human fluids, flesh
He seems to be insecure over his eyes, since they are unlike humans.
Very stupid.ย
Not thinking when in a rage to protect you can be.... Messy. Keep your mops in hand.
Has one gold tooth. He says he lost his canine when he was younger in a fight with his siblings.
Drools all the time, keep your mops in hand x2.
That's why he speaks a bit crookedly.
Height: 210 cm (6'11 feet) no. I'm not joking.

General Lance Headcanons
((These are some general headcanons that I came up with for Lance that I wanted to include earlier in my initial headcanon entry for him, but didnโt))
I see him in his late twenties to early thirties, honestly. Like, maybe 28 or nearing 30 at least. Despite his looks, Lance appears far more older than what others think initially. Heโs told he looks like heโs twenty or eighteen, which is such a common assumption that amuses Lance.
His relationship with Clair can be tumultuous. They get along fine, but there are moments when Clairโs overly competitive and sore loser mentality wears Lance down. He can handle her outbursts like a pro; heโs got the patience of a saint, but he does find himself nearing the end of his rope whenever Clair gets too defensive. I think it helps that at one point in his childhood Lance has been in Clairโs shoes, but has managed to keep calm thanks to the Dragon Masterโs guidance. Whenever Clair challenges Lance to battle at the Pokรฉmon League and loses, she throws another one of her outbursts, much to Lanceโs dismay. Heโs often asked by League members, Gym Leaders included, why Clair still has a Gym Leader position. Part of him hopes that whenever Clair faces a Trainer and loses to them that it will make her more humble. Thatโs yet to happen as her pride is so high that it takes the Dragon Master to threaten her by telling Lance whatโs up that she relents the Gym Badge. Regardless, Lance understands Clairโs position but he does not condone her ill behavior.
Lance didnโt grow up with a lot of friends outside of Blackthorn, so it was mainly just him and Clair. When he got old enough to go on his journey, Lance didnโt know what to expect. He was made aware of the different towns and cities across Johto and Kanto as well, so he wasnโt completely sheltered. However, his lack of social skills and stoic exterior has led people to be, letโs say, intimidated by him. It doesnโt help that Lance traveled the two regions with his trusty Dragons, which are far more intimidating than just him alone. This made Lance feel like an outcast, which he kind of was, therefore he ends up keeping to himself. However, all it took for him to come out of his shell was for a couple of little kids to curiously ask him about his cape, which did lighten Lanceโs spirits.
His three Dragonites are all different, personality wise. One is a big softie who loves being cuddled and enjoys wearing Lanceโs cape. They are the equivalent to a Golden Retriever and the youngest. The second Dragonite, the โmiddle childโ so to speak, keeps to themselves. They enjoy lying around and dozing off, but are quite capable of getting shit done when told by Lance. And, lastly, the third Dragonite, the oldest. This one has been with Lance the longest, making them the โleaderโ of the pact. They are a ride or die with Lance, partners til the end, and has zero tolerance for BS (also much like Lance). This Dragonite was gifted to Lance when it was a newly hatched Dratini when Lance was around eleven (the ripe age for upcoming Dragon Tamers to receive their first Dragon Pokรฉmon). Lance loves and cares for his Dragonites deeply and will, without question, lay down his life to protect them as all three are his closest companions.
Despite his stoic demeanor, Lance is a sweetheart. Heโs polite, helpful, friendly, and just wants to enjoy life being around both people and Pokรฉmon. He understands that heโs an intimidating presence but he strives to be more approachable. He tries to find some common ground, although itโs still difficult for him, but he TRIES.
Not much a movie person. Lance doesnโt like sitting for long periods of time while watching a television screen. He likes moving around, so sitting still for an hour just isnโt his forte.
For some reason, I see Lance having a shitty sleep schedule. I mean, heโs constantly on the move and doesnโt stay in place for longer than a minute. One moment heโs getting up at an ungodly hour, say 3AM, training. And then, before you know it, heโs passed out on the couch until 5PM or at noon. At times, heโll go two or three days without sleep. His sleep schedule is in such shambles that the Johto Elite Four have had to set up alert reminders for him to go to bed at around 9PM and get up at 7AM. They nearly have had to do an intervention just to get Lance to sleep properly.
When not wearing his usual uniform, Lance likes to put on a simple black turtleneck or V-neck T-shirt. Usually this is rare, but whenever Lance has free time that isnโt being swallowed up by the League or other pressing matters, Lance likes to dress casually.
Prone to getting into physical altercations, either with people or with Pokรฉmon. Lance can hold his own in a fight (not a Pokรฉmon battle, mind you) and has thrown hands before. While he is nowhere near Brunoโs level of strength, Lance can get a few hits in and can take his fair share of bruises and cuts. These fights are usually provoked by Lance interfering in illegal activities, which causes escalation to ensue. Luckily, Lance has never had a weapon pulled on him.
Gets cold pretty easily. Living near the Ice Path, the winters in Blackthorn can be pretty brutal, so Lance has never truly adapted to being cold. People think itโs funny that the Dragon Tamer Lance gets cold easily since, you know, Ice beats Dragon types. But, truth is, winters in Blackthorn can be deadly under the right conditions. Lance has spent many winters in the Dragonโs Den, caring for the Dragon types there so he has little need (or desire) to venture out into the wild wintry whiteout.
Not a public transportation kind of guy. If Lance wants to go anywhere, itโs either on foot or on his Dragoniteโs back.
Enjoys domestic living, like cooking and cleaning. When he was younger, he was raised by his single mother who did a lot around the home, so that homely influence affected him greatly. He likes keeping things in order and has kept a lot of his motherโs recipes after she passed.
Lance holds onto his relationships very, VERY closely. If anyone dares to harm any one of his friends or family, they are in for a bad time (cue Megalovania).
Keeps in contact with some of the other Champions, like Cynthia and Steven. They all would meet up to discuss news about their respective regions and other events/issues. Isnโt so much political as it rather focuses on the Pokรฉmon League aspect of each region and how each League is being cared for and how they are upholding their foundation. Still, these meetings allow Lance to catch up with other Champions, more than anything.

15 day BL challenge time!
OG here ๐ค
Day 14 - Top 5 most sad boys
Tang Yi (History 3: Trapped)

Thereโs nothing I love more than a bad boy whoโs actually just a wounded little puppy in need of a cuddle. Abused child, adopted son of a mafia boss, forced to lead because his adopted father was shot, living a life of vengeance ever since, oh life has been so cruel to him. But then Tang Yi meets Shao Fei, who is a combination of a golden retriever and a box of fireworks and somehow, against every single rational thought screaming this is a bad idea!!! He falls in love with this chaotic ball of sunshine. And my sad boy finds a safe person that holds him in his sadness and tells him everything will be okay. He finds tenderness and warmth in a man he once saw as an enemy and itโs still sad but itโs like a sadness mingled with happiness. Itโs bittersweet. The circumstances are still harsh and sad, but Tang Yi has found his shelter in the storm in the form of Meng Shao Fei.
Akk (The Eclipse)

There is something so heartbreaking and raw about Akkโs struggles, the way he seems to be carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, so terrified of letting anyone down, of letting anyone in. He has a hollowness in his chest, an ache in his bones, a terror creeping in that heโs not right and he desperately needs to do everything possible to make sure everyone thinks heโs normal. I adore The Eclipse series but the first time I watched it I found it quite triggering because I saw so much of my teenage self in Akk. It is a testament to the acting ability of First that he was able to so accurately and painfully portray the struggle of a queer teenager trapped inside themselves.
Kim Dong Hui (The Time of Fever)

Turns out Iโm drawn to repressed characters desperately struggling with their identity, suffocating in shame and guilt, torn between their heart and desires and what they feel they have to do according to the demands of society and their community. HMMMM I WONDER WHY. The Time of Fever broke my heart and took my breath away, the way it depicted the pining, the longing, the hidden glances, the hope and the guilt and the breathless desire of the queer teenage experience was painfully sublime. And to be honest, Dong Hui and Ho Tae should both be here because theyโre two parts of a whole heart, two boys who just need a hug.
Kenta (Pit Babe)

Kenta was either kidnapped from his birth family or sold by his birth parents into Tonyโs crazy alpha childrenโs farm, abused and neglected his entire childhood and basically trained to be a guard dog and the saddest thing is he still clings to Tony and does everything he tells him to do because Kenta believes that his dad, despite everything, still loves him. When Tony rejects him completely, Kentaโs entire world implodes. Who is he without Tony? In one sentence Tony basically destroys this manโs entire life and identity. Whatโs the termโฆ justifiable homicide? Yeah, Kenta did that. I got no qualms.
Hira (My Beautiful Man)

Hira is such a a tragic figure because he is someone that truly doesnโt believe he has anything of value to offer the world. Itโs almost painful watching him because itโs so hard to see someone think so little of themselves. I just wanna give this dude a hug and the number of a good therapist!!!!

Diamond Of The First Water
In the aftermath of war, Paradis finds itself in need of powerful alliances. When Emperor Armand of Valoria offers his military aid in exchange for the hand of his daughter, Princess Solina, in marriage, Captain Levi Ackerman is thrust into an engagement that begins as a political strategy but soon becomes something much deeper.
Princess Solina, sheltered from the world and unaware of the realities of love and war, finds herself drawn to Leviโthe man known as Humanityโs Strongest Soldier. As they navigate royal customs, public expectations, and the growing threat of Marley, the bond between them deepens into a genuine connection.
But neither Solina nor Levi are prepared for the challenges of a political marriage, the weight of intimacy, and the secrets that lie beneath the surface. As Solina enters a new life with Levi, her naivety is tested, and Levi faces a battle unlike any heโs fought beforeโthe fight to protect his heart.
Can their love flourish in the midst of war, duty, and danger? Or will the forces conspiring against them tear them apart before they can find peace? (Levi x OC)
Chapter Twenty Three
The morning sun spilled through the lace curtains of Solinaโs bedroom in the Rose House, casting a golden glow on the most important day of her life. She stirred awake, her heart already beating a little faster with excitement and nerves. She turned her head to the left, where her wedding dress stood proudly on the mannequinโa masterpiece of intricate embroidery and delicate craftsmanship. The massive gown seemed to sparkle in the light, as if it was alive with magic, a dress worthy of the Diamond of Valoria. The long cathedral veil cascaded down like a waterfall, pooling elegantly at the base of the mannequin.

Solina sat up slowly, her fiery red hair falling in soft waves over her shoulders. Today was the last time sheโd wake up in her room in the Rose House. The thought tugged at her heart, bittersweet and beautiful. She looked around at the familiar space that had been her sanctuary, filled with memories of her family, her music, and her journey into womanhood. Everything would change after today, but she found solace in knowing it was Levi waiting for her at the end of the aisle.
As she ran her fingers over the soft fabric of her blanket, the door creaked open, and Lady Solana stepped in. Solanaโs emerald robe fluttered lightly as she moved, her hair still unstyled but her face glowing with pride and warmth. She carried herself with her usual regal grace, but her eyes betrayed her emotions. Sitting on the edge of Solinaโs bed, she reached out to brush a strand of hair from her daughterโs face.
โGood morning, my darling,โ Lady Solana said softly, her voice thick with emotion. โToday is the day.โ
Solina smiled, though tears pricked her eyes. โGood morning, Mother.โ
Solana studied her daughter for a moment, her eyes traveling from Solinaโs serene face to the wedding dress. Her lips trembled slightly as she placed a hand over her heart. โYou look so calm, Solina. How do you feel?โ
โNervous,โ Solina admitted with a light laugh. โBut alsoโฆ happy. Iโm ready. I think I really am.โ
Lady Solanaโs eyes shimmered with unshed tears. โYou are more than ready, my love. You will be a beautiful bride, and I know youโll make Leviโand all of Valoriaโso proud.โ
At that, Solina leaned forward, wrapping her arms tightly around her mother. โIโll miss you so much, Mother.โ
Lady Solana hugged her back just as fiercely. โAnd Iโll miss you, my precious girl. But I am so proud of the woman youโve become.โ She pulled back slightly, her hands resting on Solinaโs shoulders. โI have something for you.โ
From the pocket of her robe, Lady Solana retrieved a small velvet pouch. She opened it to reveal a set of thin emerald bracelets, each one shining like droplets of dew in the morning sun. โThese were a gift from your father when I became his Rose consort. They brought me good fortune and happiness with your father, and now, I want you to have them.โ
Solina gasped softly, her hands trembling as she accepted the bracelets. She slid them onto her wrist, admiring how they complemented the engagement ring Levi had given her. โThank you, Mother. Iโll cherish them always.โ
Before Solana could reply, the door burst open, and a chorus of voices filled the room. Solomon, Soleil, Solenne, and Solandor all rushed in, their faces alight with excitement. โThere she is, our beautiful bride-to-be!โ Solomon exclaimed, pulling Solina into a brotherly hug.
โYou look like an angel already,โ Soleil added, her eyes twinkling.
The twins, Solandor and Solenne, clung to Solinaโs arms, each vying for her attention. โWeโre going to miss you so much, Sister!โ Solandor said, his voice cracking slightly.
โI donโt want you to go,โ Solenne whispered, her big eyes filled with tears.
Solina hugged them all, her heart swelling with love for her siblings. โIโll miss you too. But you can always visit me. And Solomon will be with me in Paradis.โ
โWeโll come as soon as we can,โ Lady Solana promised, stroking her hair. โBut donโt think for a second that Paradis will keep you to itself. Weโll always be your family.โ
The tender moment was interrupted by a gentle knock on the door. One of Solinaโs maids peeked in, bowing slightly. โYour Highness, breakfast is ready, and weโll begin your preparations shortly.โ
Lady Solana stood, smoothing her robe. โItโs time, my dear. You have a long day ahead of you.โ
Solina took a deep breath, glancing one last time at her wedding dress before turning to her family. โLetโs make today perfect.โ
As she left her room, surrounded by her loving family, Solina felt a surge of determination. No matter the nerves or the challenges ahead, she would walk down that aisle with grace, love, and pride. Today was the beginning of a new chapter, and she was ready to embrace it fully.
โฆ
Meanwhile, the early morning light filtered through the thick curtains of Leviโs chambers, but heโd already been up long before the sun rose. Sitting on the daybed by the window, Levi stared out at the vast expanse of the Imperial Palace grounds. From his vantage point, he could see the edges of the Royal Gardens and, in the distance, the unmistakable silhouette of the Rose House. The house that Solina had called home her entire life.
By now, she must be awake, probably spending hours getting ready for the ceremony. Levi allowed himself a small smile, his sharp, stoic features softening slightly. He could only imagine how stunning she would look in her wedding gown. She always carried herself with grace, even when her anxiety got the better of her. But today, as nervous as he was, Levi was certain she would walk down the aisle with the same quiet strength that had captivated him over the past month.
He leaned back slightly, running a hand through his dark hair. The reality of the day ahead was settling in. He was getting married. Levi Ackermanโwho had spent his entire adult life as Humanityโs Strongest Soldier, never imagining a life beyond the battlefieldโwas about to take a wife. And yet, despite the circumstances of their political arrangement, Levi couldnโt help but feel a spark of happiness. He wasnโt just marrying anyone; he was marrying Solina.
She was kind, patient, intelligent, and so much more than he had expected when he first learned about the arrangement. In fact, he doubted there was another person in the world who could balance the weight of being Valoriaโs Diamond with the humility and warmth that Solina embodied. Levi sighed, resting his chin on his hand. How had he been so lucky?
Of course, Levi wasnโt oblivious to the larger implications of this marriage. It wasnโt just about him and Solinaโit was about Paradis and Valoria. The Valorian military presence on Paradis would ensure their safety, and he knew the alliance was vital for their survival. And while he still wasnโt entirely clear on the Emperorโs intentions with the ice burst stone, Levi had come to trust that the Emperor genuinely wanted the best for his family and his people.
A sharp knock on the door broke Leviโs train of thought. โCome in,โ he said, sitting up straighter.
The door opened to reveal Hange, Jean, and Armin, all looking far more awake and chipper than Levi had anticipated. Hange, as usual, was the first to speak, practically bouncing into the room. โLevi! The man of the hour!โ she exclaimed, throwing her arms wide as if she were announcing him to an audience. โCan you believe it, Jean? Armin? Our Captain is getting married today!โ
Jean smirked, crossing his arms as he leaned against the doorframe. โIf youโd told me a month ago that zcaptain Levi would be excited about his political marriage, I wouldโve called you crazy.โ
Armin chuckled, his blue eyes warm with amusement. โI have to admit, Captain, you look... different. Happier.โ
Levi rolled his eyes, though the corner of his mouth twitched in what might have been the beginnings of a smile. โI donโt know what youโre talking about,โ he said dryly, standing and stretching slightly. โItโs just another day.โ
โJust another day?โ Hange repeated incredulously. โLevi, youโre getting married! Youโre about to walk down the aisle and marry a princess, no less!โ
Jean snickered. โAnd heโs actually happy about it. Admit it, Captain, Solinaโs got you wrapped around her finger.โ
Levi shot Jean a sharp look, though there was no real malice in it. โKeep talking, and Iโll make sure youโre the one cleaning up after this whole thing.โ
Hange laughed, throwing an arm around Leviโs shoulders. โOh, lighten up, Levi. Weโre happy for you. Truly. After everything youโve been through, you deserve this. And Solinaโwell, sheโs amazing. Anyone can see that.โ
Levi didnโt respond immediately, but the faintest hint of color rose to his cheeks. Hangeโs words, though delivered in her usual playful tone, carried a weight of sincerity that he couldnโt ignore. He appreciated their support more than he let on.
Before the conversation could continue, a group of attendants entered the room, carrying Leviโs wedding attire. The uniform was a unique blend of his traditional scout uniform and the Valorian military attire. It was sleek, formal, and regal, with a sash that bore the colors of both Paradis and Valoria. A delicate rose pin sat on the lapel, a nod to Solina and the Rose House.
Jean whistled low. โNow thatโs a look. Youโre going to steal the show, Captain.โ
Hange clapped her hands together. โAlright, letโs get him dressed! This is a momentous occasion!โ
Levi groaned softly but didnโt protest as the attendants began helping him into the uniform. As they worked, his mind drifted once again to Solina. She was probably surrounded by her maids and family, preparing for her grand entrance. The thought brought a small, genuine smile to his face. He couldnโt wait to see her.
Once he was fully dressed, Levi stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the rose pin on his lapel. Hange, Jean, and Armin stood behind him, all grinning like proud parents. โYou clean up nice, Levi,โ Hange said, giving him a thumbs-up.
Levi shook his head but couldnโt suppress the warmth that spread through him. โThanks,โ he muttered, his voice softer than usual.
One of the attendants cleared his throat. โCaptain Ackerman, itโs time to head to the Cathedral. Guests are beginning to arrive.โ
Levi nodded, taking one last glance out the window toward the Rose House. Solina would be making her way to the Cathedral soon, and he would be waiting for her at the altar. As he turned to leave, a quiet determination settled over him. Today wasnโt just about duty or politics. Today was about starting a new chapter with Solina, the woman who had somehow found her way into his guarded heart.
And he was ready.
โฆ
Back in the Rose House, Princess Solina stood motionless in front of the grand mirror, her breath caught in her chest. She was fully dressed now, and as her eyes scanned her reflection, she hardly recognized herself. Her wedding gown, the masterpiece she had envisioned during her fittings, now lived and breathed on her body like a dream made real. The shimmering white fabric, adorned with intricate embroidery and pearls, glistened softly in the sunlight filtering through the roomโs lace-draped windows. Her long cathedral veil, its edges embroidered with delicate roses, flowed behind her, creating a regal aura that could only be described as divine.
Her emerald engagement ring sparkled brilliantly on her finger, perfectly complemented by the emerald bracelets her mother had given her earlier that morning and the thin choker that rested gently against her neck. Her makeup, done with precision and grace, accentuated her natural beauty with soft pink hues and a touch of gold to bring out the flecks in her green eyes. Her hair was styled into an elaborate low bun, loose curls framing her face, and her tiara sat proudly atop her head, holding the veil securely in place. She looked every bit the Diamond of Valoriaโevery bit the bride of royalty.
Behind her, Lady Solana, Solomon, Soleil, Solenne, and Solandor stood in awe. For a moment, no one spoke. Then, Solonne, her youngest sister, gasped. โSolina... youโre beautiful,โ she whispered, her wide eyes filling with admiration.
Soleil, always the more playful one, clutched her hands to her chest dramatically. โI canโt believe this is my sister! You look like one of those goddesses from the ancient myths!โ
Solomon, standing tall and proud in his formal military attire, nodded solemnly. โYou look perfect, Solina. Leviโs going to be speechless.โ
Solandor, the youngest of her brothers, grinned mischievously. โHeโs probably going to faint,โ he added, earning a soft laugh from everyone in the room.
Solina smiled, though her eyes glistened with tears she tried to keep at bay. โThank you,โ she said softly, her voice trembling just a little. โI couldnโt have done this without all of you.โ
Solenne and Soleil stepped forward, holding out the bouquet of roses they had gathered that morning from the Rose Houseโs gardens. The vibrant red blossoms contrasted beautifully with the white of her gown, and as Solina took the bouquet into her hands, she marveled at its fragrance and meaning. โThank you,โ she said again, her voice barely above a whisper.
The moment was interrupted by a soft knock at the door. One of the maids entered, curtsying before speaking. โYour Highness, the Emperor has arrived.โ
At the mention of her father, Solinaโs heart skipped a beat. She hadnโt seen him yet today, and now, as the maids parted to allow him entry, she felt her breath hitch once more. Emperor Armand stepped into the room, his regal demeanor unwavering until his gaze landed on Solina.
He froze in place, his sharp, authoritative eyes widening as they took her in. For a moment, the years melted away. In his mindโs eye, he saw her as a baby, cradled in his arms for the first time. He remembered the joy of teaching her the piano, the laughter they shared during her childhood, and the pride he felt as he watched her grow into the incredible woman standing before him now. He swallowed hard, but the lump in his throat refused to go away.
โSolina,โ he murmured, his voice breaking slightly.
Lady Solana, standing nearby, noticed the telltale shine of tears in her husbandโs eyes. She silently handed him her handkerchief, which he accepted with a small, grateful nod.
Solina felt her own tears welling up, but she held them back. She stepped toward her father, her gown rustling softly with the movement. For a long moment, they simply looked at each other. No words were needed; the love and pride in their gazes spoke volumes. Finally, Emperor Armand opened his arms, and Solina stepped into his embrace. He held her tightly, his chin resting atop her head. โYouโve made me so proud, Solina,โ he said softly. โSo proud.โ
โIโll miss you, Father,โ she whispered, her voice muffled against his chest. โSo much.โ
โAnd I will miss you,โ he replied, his voice steady despite the emotion coursing through him. โBut I know youโll do great things. Youโre ready.โ
Another knock at the door interrupted their moment, and one of the maids peeked inside. โYour Majesties, the carriages have arrived. All the guests are seated, and Captain Levi is waiting at the altar.โ
The announcement brought a rush of movement. The maids hurried to gather the final touches, fluffing out Solinaโs veil and ensuring her gown was arranged perfectly. The Emperor helped his daughter turn toward the door, his hand steady on her arm. โItโs time,โ he said gently.
As Solina prepared to leave, her siblings gathered around her one last time. Each of them hugged her tightly, whispering words of encouragement and love. Solinaโs heart swelled with gratitude. She couldnโt have asked for a more supportive family.
Finally, the maids helped guide Solina out the door and down the steps of the Rose House. Outside, the royal carriages waited, gleaming in the morning sunlight. The first carriage, grand and opulent, was reserved for Solina and the Emperor. Behind it, another carriage stood ready for Lady Solana and the rest of the family.
โAlright, everyone, letโs get her inside!โ one of the maids called, her voice light with humor as they prepared to maneuver Solina and her massive dress into the carriage.
It was no easy feat. Solinaโs gown was expansive, its skirts puffed out to such a degree that it required two maids to hold the fabric on either side while another guided her up the small steps. Solina laughed softly as she tried to sit without crushing the delicate embroidery. Once she was seated, her veil draped over her lap, the Emperor climbed in after her. But even with just the two of them, the space was a tight fit.
โI feel like Iโm being smothered by fabric,โ the Emperor muttered, though there was a teasing smile on his lips.
Solina laughed, her nerves easing slightly at his humor. โItโs not too bad, is it?โ she asked, tilting her head.
โWell,โ he replied, glancing down at the layers of gown encroaching on his lap, โitโs certainly memorable.โ
Outside, Lady Solana, Solomon, Soleil, Solenne, and Solandor climbed into their own carriage, waving cheerfully as they prepared to follow. As the carriages began to move, Solina took a deep breath, clutching her bouquet tightly. This was it. Her wedding day had officially begun. And as nervous as she was, she felt a small flicker of excitement burning brighter with each passing moment.
The royal carriage moved steadily through the pathway of the Imperial Palace, its wheels crunching softly over the cobblestones as the horses trotted gracefully. Every so often, Solina would smooth the folds of her skirt, her emerald ring catching the sunlight streaming through the windows. Though she was nervous, an undeniable excitement danced in her green eyes, and her father noticed.
โYou seem...different today, my dear,โ the Emperor said, his deep, comforting voice breaking the soft silence. โNot as anxious as I thought you might be.โ
Solina smiled faintly, her cheeks tinged with warmth at his observation. โI thought I would be, too,โ she admitted, her voice soft and thoughtful. โBut I feel...happy, Father. Excited, even. I suppose itโs because I know that Iโm marrying someone who truly cares for me. I was so scared before, but Levi has been so kind, so patient. He makes me feel safe.โ
The Emperorโs expression softened, his typically stern gaze melting into something more tender. โThatโs how it should be,โ he said, nodding approvingly. โI had hoped this arrangement would give you more than just security for Valoria and Paradis. I wanted you to find a partner, someone who would cherish you. It seems I was right about Levi.โ
Solina looked down at her bouquet, her fingers brushing over the soft petals. โHeโs a good man,โ she said quietly. โI didnโt think Iโd ever feel this way about someone...not in an arrangement like this.โ
The Emperor reached across the space between them, resting a reassuring hand on hers. โYou deserve happiness, Solina. And it pleases me to see you glowing with it today. Iโll admit, Iโve worried about your anxietyโwondered if this day would overwhelm you. But look at you now.โ He gestured with a slight smile. โA radiant bride.โ
Solinaโs blush deepened, and she let out a soft laugh. โThank you, Father. That means so much coming from you.โ
They rode in silence for a moment, the sounds of the city filtering in through the carriageโs slightly open windows. Solina hesitated, then looked up at her father with a hopeful expression. โWill you visit me in Paradis, Father? I know itโs far, and youโre so busy, but...I would love for you to come.โ
The Emperor leaned back in his seat, considering her words. โOf course I will,โ he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for doubt. โI wouldnโt miss the opportunity to see how youโre settling into your new life. And,โ he added with a teasing glint in his eye, โif you and Levi give me a grandchild, I might visit even more often.โ
Solinaโs eyes widened, and her face turned a deep shade of crimson. โFather!โ she exclaimed, her voice a mixture of embarrassment and indignation. She clutched her bouquet tighter, averting her gaze as if to escape his teasing.
The Emperorโs laughter rumbled through the carriage, rich and full of warmth. โWhat? Itโs only natural,โ he said, still chuckling. โYouโre starting a new life, Solina. Itโs not unreasonable to think about the future.โ
Solina pressed her lips together, shaking her head in disbelief. โYouโre impossible sometimes,โ she muttered, though her tone held no real annoyance. Despite her flustered state, she couldnโt help but smile.
The Emperorโs laughter faded into a more contemplative silence. After a moment, Solina glanced at him, her expression shifting to one of concern. โFather...about Dimaria,โ she began hesitantly. โWill she really be at the countryside for six months? For someone like her, that must feel like...a death sentence.โ
The Emperorโs face hardened slightly, though his voice remained calm. โItโs not something I do lightly,โ he admitted. โSending her away pains me, but Dimaria needs this, Solina. Her behavior has shown me that she lacks the humility and character required of someone in her position. She has had every privilege, yet she has squandered the lessons we tried to teach her. This time in the countryside is for her own good. She may not understand it now, but one day, I hope she will.โ
Solina nodded slowly, her gaze dropping to her lap. โI just wish things didnโt have to be this way. Iโve always wanted us to be closerโto be real sisters.โ
The Emperor sighed, his shoulders heavy with the weight of his role as both a father and a ruler. โI know, Solina. But some things take time. And Dimaria...she has a long road ahead of her. She and Darcy will be at the wedding, but Dimaria leaves for the countryside tomorrow morning. I can only hope that this experience changes her for the better.โ
Solina bit her lip, torn between guilt and understanding. Before she could respond, the carriage began to slow, the sound of horsesโ hooves clattering against the stone road easing to a halt. The Emperor glanced out the window, a faint smile tugging at his lips. โWeโre here.โ
Solina followed his gaze, her heart skipping a beat as the grand cathedral came into view. Its towering spires reached toward the heavens, and the intricate stained glass windows glittered in the sunlight like a kaleidoscope of colors. The streets surrounding the cathedral were lined with onlookers, their faces alight with excitement as they caught a glimpse of the royal carriage. The sounds of the angelic choir drifted through the air, a hauntingly beautiful melody that sent a shiver down Solinaโs spine.
The Emperor turned to her, his expression filled with pride. โAre you ready, Solina?โ he asked gently.
Solina took a deep breath, clutching her bouquet tightly. โYes,โ she said, her voice steady despite the butterflies in her stomach. โIโm ready.โ
The royal carriage rolled to a stop in front of the cathedral, its gilded details gleaming under the morning sun. Princess Solina took a deep breath, the weight of the moment settling over her. Her heart thudded in her chest, not from doubt but from the sheer enormity of what was happening. This was her wedding day. A day she had once dreaded but now looked forward to with equal parts nervousness and excitement.
The footmen hurried to open the carriage door, and the Emperor was the first to step out, his tall frame exuding confidence and authority. He turned, extending a hand toward her. With the extra care, he helped her down from the carriage. The attendants immediately surrounded her, their hands busy fluffing the voluminous folds of her wedding gown and smoothing out the stunning cathedral-length veil embroidered with intricate roses.
The carriage carrying Lady Solana and Solinaโs siblings, Solomon, Soleil, Solenne, and Solandor, arrived right behind them. Solomon stepped out first, straightening his military uniform before helping his mother and siblings out. Lady Solanaโs eyes immediately sought Solina, and her breath caught when she saw her daughter. Her hand went to her chest, and tears welled in her eyes.
โMy beautiful girl,โ Lady Solana whispered as she approached. She leaned in to place a kiss on Solinaโs cheek. โYou are breathtaking, Solina. Levi is going to be speechless.โ
Solina managed a soft, bashful smile. โThank you, Mother. I hope I can make you proud.โ
Lady Solana gently cupped Solinaโs face. โYou already have. You always do. Now, go and shine.โ She stepped back, allowing the maids to finish their work, before turning to enter the cathedral with Solomon escorting her. Solenne, Soleil, and Solandor followed, all beaming with pride for their sister.
Solina turned to her father, who offered his arm. โShall we?โ he asked, his voice warm yet steady, grounding her as always.
She nodded, looping her arm through his. As they ascended the grand steps of the cathedral, the massive wooden doors opened, revealing the breathtaking interior. The soaring vaulted ceilings seemed to touch the heavens, adorned with murals of Valorian history and triumphs. Light streamed through the stained-glass windows, casting a kaleidoscope of colors across the sea of elegantly dressed guests who filled the pews.
The choir began to sing, their angelic voices filling the cathedral with a melody so ethereal it sent shivers down Solinaโs spine. All the guests stood, their heads turning as the Emperor and Solina began their walk down the impossibly long aisle.
Solinaโs nerves began to creep in as she took her first steps. The aisle seemed to stretch endlessly, and the weight of thousands of eyes watching her made her palms sweat. She glanced at her father, who patted her hand gently.
โBreathe, my dear,โ he whispered. โJust focus on one step at a time. And remember, at the end of this aisle is the man who cares for you.โ
Her gaze lifted, and as her eyes found Levi at the end of the aisle, everything else seemed to blur. He stood tall, his custom wedding attireโa unique blend of his Scout uniform and Valorian regaliaโfitting him perfectly. The Valorian rose pinned to his chest and the sash of Paradis made him look regal yet grounded, a soldier and a prince all at once. But it was the look in his eyes that steadied her completely.
Leviโs gray eyes were locked on her, filled with a warmth and awe that made her heart flutter. He had always thought Solina was beautiful, but seeing her like thisโradiant, etherealโwas almost too much to take. He swallowed hard, barely aware of Hange, Armin, and Jean sitting near him with wide grins. All he could think was that he was the luckiest man alive.
Solinaโs focus sharpened as she moved closer to Levi. Along the way, she noticed her family scattered among the guests. Lady Madeline and Lady Blair smiled warmly at her, their pride evident. Lady Darcy, as expected, maintained a neutral expression, while Dimaria avoided looking at her entirely. Her half-siblingsโOpal, Ivoria, Gale, and their spouses were all beaming at her, along with her other siblings James, Gracelyn, Ruby, and Andrewโ their happiness was genuine. And then there was Lady Solana, seated in the front row with Solinaโs younger siblings, openly wiping tears from her cheeks as Solomon rested a comforting hand on her shoulder.
The closer Solina got to Levi, the less aware she became of everyone else. Her heart pounded as the Emperor brought her to the altar, where Levi stood waiting. When they reached him, the Emperor turned to his daughter, his eyes brimming with emotion. He leaned down, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
โYouโve made me proud every day of your life,โ he murmured, his voice thick with love. โAnd I know you will continue to do so.โ
Solina blinked rapidly to keep her tears at bay. โI love you, Father.โ
The Emperor straightened, turning to Levi. He placed Solinaโs hand in Leviโs, his grip firm but not threatening. โCaptain Levi,โ he said solemnly, โshe is my pride and joy. Take care of her. Protect her. She is your greatest mission now.โ
Levi nodded, his voice steady. โI will. Always.โ
As the Emperor stepped back to take his seat, Levi turned to Solina, his fingers tightening gently around hers. Their eyes met, and for a moment, it felt as though they were the only two people in the world.
โYouโre breathtaking,โ Levi whispered, his voice barely audible over the choirโs song.
Solinaโs lips curved into a soft smile, her cheeks warming. โThank you.โ
The choirโs song swelled, and as the ceremony began, all Solina could think was how incredibly lucky she felt to have found someone like Levi. And as they stood together at the altar, ready to exchange vows, she knew that this was only the beginning of their journey.
โฆ
The grand cathedral was silent save for the solemn voice of the priest delivering his sermon on the sanctity of love and marriage. His deep, resonant tone echoed through the vast space, filling every corner and commanding attention. The gathered guests sat in rapt silenceโor at least most of them did. Solina and Levi, however, stood facing one another at the altar, Solinaโs face hidden behind her ethereal veil.
Levi tried his best to maintain a composed expression as the priest droned on about the virtues of unity and selflessness in marriage, but he couldnโt help himself. He subtly rolled his eyes at a particularly long-winded metaphor about the bonds of marriage being like an unyielding fortress. The movement was quick and subtle, but it didnโt escape Solinaโs notice.
Behind the delicate fabric of her veil, her lips quirked into a small smile, and a quiet chuckle escaped her. It was soft, barely audible, but the sound carried just enough to catch the priestโs attention. He paused mid-sentence, giving them a pointed, stern look.
Leviโs expression remained stoic as if daring the priest to say something. Solina, however, bit her lip, trying to contain her laughter. She cast her gaze downward, her shoulders shaking slightly as she suppressed another chuckle.
The priest cleared his throat, clearly unamused, before continuing his sermon with renewed fervor. Solina dared to glance up at Levi, and the corner of his mouth twitched upward in the faintest hint of a smirk. That was all it took to set her nerves at ease. In the sea of formalities and the overwhelming grandeur of the moment, Leviโs subtle humor eased her nerves.
After what felt like an eternity, the priest concluded his sermon, stepping aside to allow the choir to begin their hymn. The choir's voices filled the air with a hauntingly beautiful melody, their harmonies cascading like a waterfall of sound. The music was transcendent, lifting the atmosphere of the ceremony to something almost otherworldly. Solina listened, letting the music soothe her nerves, her gloved fingers trembling ever so slightly in Leviโs steady grasp.
Levi, meanwhile, stood rooted in place, his gaze fixed on Solina. The veil partially obscured her features, but he could still make out the faint outlines of her faceโthe gentle curve of her lips, the slight upward tilt of her nose. He couldnโt help but think how surreal this moment was. Just a month ago, the idea of a political marriage had filled him with dread, but now, standing before Solina, he feltโฆpeaceful. And even excited.
The hymn concluded, and the priest stepped forward once more. โNow, we come to the sacred exchange of vows,โ he announced.
Solinaโs breath hitched slightly, and Levi gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. This was the part she had been most nervous aboutโnot because she didnโt mean every word of the vows, but because the idea of speaking them aloud in front of thousands of people was overwhelming. Levi, understanding her reservations, had agreed that they would stick to the standard vows.
The priest turned to Levi first. โCaptain Levi Ackerman,โ he began, โdo you take Princess Solina Emme Hein of the House of Rose to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, until death do you part?โ
Leviโs gray eyes never left Solinaโs. His voice was steady and low, carrying a weight of sincerity that made her heart flutter. โI do.โ
The priest turned to Solina. โPrincess Solina Emme Hein of the House of Rose, do you take Captain Levi Ackerman to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, until death do you part?โ
Through her veil, Solinaโs emerald eyes glistened with emotion. Her voice, soft but unwavering, carried through the cathedral. โI do.โ
The priest nodded approvingly, stepping back slightly. โThen, by the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. Captain, you may kiss the bride.โ
The moment the words left the priestโs lips, Levi reached forward with steady hands, gently lifting the veil from Solinaโs face. For a brief moment, he simply stared at her. Her radiant beauty, the tears glistening in her eyes, and the soft smile playing on her lipsโall of it made his chest tighten with emotion.
Slowly, he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a kiss that was tender and full of quiet promise. The cathedral erupted in applause, the sound reverberating through the walls, but Levi and Solina barely noticed. In that moment, the world outside of the two of them ceased to exist.
As they pulled away, Solinaโs cheeks flushed a delicate pink, and her lips trembled in a small, nervous smile. Leviโs gaze softened, and he whispered so only she could hear, โYou did great.โ
Her smile widened slightly, and she whispered back, โSo did you.โ
Hand in hand, they turned to face the crowd, the priestโs voice booming over the applause as he announced, โLadies and gentlemen, I present to you, Captain Levi Ackerman and Princess Solina Ackerman!โ
The cathedral erupted into a symphony of clapping and cheering as Levi and Solina began their walk down the aisle together. Solinaโs hand rested lightly on Leviโs arm, her delicate fingers trembling slightly as they passed rows of guests. The long train of her wedding dress trailed elegantly behind her, its intricate embroidery catching the sunlight that streamed through the stained glass windows.
Hange, who was seated in the front row with Armin and Jean, was an absolute spectacle. Tears streamed down her face as she clapped loudly, her cries of "Levi, you old romantic!" echoing through the cathedral. She was practically bouncing in her seat, waving a handkerchief in the air like a proud parent.
Armin covered his face with one hand, clearly mortified, while Jean groaned, muttering, โHange, will you calm down? Youโre going to embarrass us.โ
But Hange was completely undeterred, crying out, โIโm just so proud of him!โ Her voice cracked as she added, โHeโs all grown up and getting married!โ
Levi cast a sideways glance at her, his expression somewhere between exasperation and amusement. Solina, on the other hand, couldnโt suppress a small giggle, the sound soft and sweet. It was clear to her just how much Leviโs friends cared for him, and it warmed her heart.
As they reached the grand doors of the cathedral, Levi and Solina were met with a team of attendants ready to assist with the carriage waiting outside. The ornate, open carriage was adorned with rosesโred ones from the Rose Houseโand gold embellishments that glittered in the midday sun. The horses, adorned with decorative Valorian crests on their bridles, stood tall and regal, waiting to escort the couple back to the imperial palace for the grand reception.
Levi turned to Solina and offered his hand, helping her step into the carriage. But as she moved, the sheer weight and volume of her dress became apparent. The layers of fabric, the beading, and the train were undeniably beautiful, but also undeniably cumbersome.
Levi grunted softly as he leaned down to gather the fabric of her dress. โHow are you even walking in this thing?โ he muttered, half to himself, half to Solina.
Solina laughed softly, her cheeks flushing. โItโs not easy, believe me. Iโve been practicing for weeks.โ
Levi hoisted a portion of the dress into the carriage, muttering, โThis weighs more than my ODM gear.โ
Finally, Solina was settled in the carriage, her dress spread out around her like a shimmering, ivory cloud. Levi climbed in after her, but as he tried to situate himself on the bench, he realized there was barely any room left.
โMove over,โ he muttered, attempting to shift Solinaโs dress to one side.
โI canโt,โ she replied, laughing as she tried to rearrange the fabric. โThereโs nowhere for it to go!โ
Levi finally gave up, sitting as close to Solina as possible without crushing her gown. He was practically pressed against the side of the carriage, his arm pinned awkwardly between his body and the fabric. โThis is ridiculous,โ he muttered, though his voice lacked any real irritation.
Solina couldnโt help but giggle. โI warned you this dress was massive.โ
Levi glanced at her, and despite his cramped position, he couldnโt help but smile. She looked radiant, her laughter lighting up her entire face. The sunlight caught on the delicate embroidery of her gown, making it shimmer as if it were woven with starlight.
โRidiculous or not,โ Levi said quietly, his voice soft, โyou look stunning.โ
Solinaโs cheeks turned a deep shade of pink, and she lowered her gaze, suddenly shy. โThank you,โ she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
The carriage began to move, the horses trotting gracefully down the cobblestone path that led from the cathedral to the palace. The streets were lined with spectators, Valorian citizens who had gathered to catch a glimpse of their Diamond on her wedding day. They cheered and waved, throwing rose petals into the air as the carriage passed by.
Levi glanced at Solina, noticing how her hand rested lightly on her lap, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her glove. He placed his hand over hers, his touch steady and reassuring. Solina looked up at him, her emerald eyes meeting his, and for a moment, the noise of the crowd faded away.
โYou did great,โ Levi said simply, his voice low but filled with sincerity.
Solina smiled, her nerves easing at his words. โSo did you,โ she replied. โI think the priest might have been glaring at us, though.โ
Levi smirked. โHeโll get over it.โ
The two of them laughed softly, the sound a shared secret between them. As the carriage continued its journey, Solinaโs gaze drifted to the palace in the distance, its grand silhouette growing larger with each passing moment. The reality of the day was sinking inโshe was no longer just Princess Solina of the House of Rose. She was Solina Ackerman, a wife, a bridge between two nations, and the official ambassador of Valoria to Paradis.
Levi, meanwhile, found himself thinking about the journey ahead. The wedding was just the beginning. They had a reception to get through, a honeymoon to embark on, and then the daunting task of building a life together in Paradis. But as he looked at Solina, he felt a quiet confidence. Whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face them together.
The carriage pulled up to the palace, where another team of attendants was waiting to assist them. Levi sighed as he prepared to wrestle with the mountain of fabric that was Solinaโs dress once again. โAlright,โ he said, cracking his knuckles. โLetโs get you out of here without tearing this thing.โ
Solina laughed, the sound warm and genuine. โGood luck.โ
As Levi helped her out of the carriage, he couldnโt help but think that despite the chaos, the nerves, and the overwhelming nature of the day, he wouldnโt trade this moment for anything. Solina, with her radiant smile and infectious laughter, had a way of making even the most daunting situations feel manageable. And for the first time in a long time, Levi felt truly content with his life.

hi! Following seeing some of your posts and the art by typosandtea, I was wondering what your lore/ hcs for Cutler are! I LOVE your design for him
also just came to say I think youโre awesome :) have a great day
Thank you so much!! Your headcanons on Cutler have been amazing as well, I'm so glad this character that gets like, two lines of dialogue about him is getting recognized by the fandom (as he DESERVES!)
Headcanons about Cutler
Cutler had his eyes on the cute scrap seller in Rivet City for a while, and their first real interaction was him trying to flirt.
Danse, being on the aroace spectrum (maybe demisexual?) and extremely oblivious, never realized this fact. He assumed Cutler was just trying to haggle for a lower price.
Cutler never bought anything though. Instead he would ask about the original uses of all the pre-war items Danse had in stock and watched as Danse's face lit up. He loved to listen to him ramble about things he was passionate about.
He asked Danse out for a meal one evening and Danse, hungry and poor, was happy with the free food. Danse never quite picked up on Cutler's crush, but Cutler took it in stride anyway - he was a very carefree guy who was perfectly fine with making a new friend.
Danse and Cutler were basically opposites. Cutler was always impulsive and chaotic, big golden retriever energy, and Danse was much more reserved and anxious when he was younger.
They balanced each other out well, Danse could reel Cutler's chaos in and Cutler taught Danse to loosen up a little. They got into trouble sometimes, but never anything too serious.
I also imagine Cutler to be a bit of a nomad. He had a sister at home he'd send mail to regularly, but other than that he was always moving and exploring the wasteland without a specific goal in mind, only staying at places for a few months at a time before moving on.
So of course he was hyped about the Brotherhood recruiting. Free food, clothing, shelter, and education! And once he got bored he'd just dip and find a new place to call home like he always has.
He probably would have left the Brotherhood long before his scouting op if it wasn't for Danse, honestly.
His opinion of Danse was a complicated one. Depsite not usually becoming attached to friends or lovers, he had this urge to keep Danse safe and watch him succeed in life. Danse was such a strange guy with such a complicated mind it was like watching a bug under a microscope... and his crush on him really didn't help.
By the time he realized just how deep of a hole he dug himself into it was too late to back out and go back to his nomad life. Not that he minded, he was more than happy following Danse to wherever he wanted to go.
At a certain point they both knew they loved each other, but nothing was ever said. It really wasn't important to either of them to label their relationship or have some sort of big admission of love. They just silently knew they'd be there for each other no matter what.
The last time they saw each other was when Cutler was leaving on his mission. He waved through the window of the vertibird and Danse, not wanting to break protocol, kept a steady salute and didn't wave back. They really thought they were going to see each other again.
As for physical features
Danse struggles with a bit of face blindness, so he tends to look for concrete features like hair, markings, or clothing to identify people. Cutler of course mirrored this perfectly by being very noticable in terms of appearance.
Blonde hair, green eyes. A burn scar going down his face and to his shoulder. Cheap jewelery with a fake gold chain necklace. And, despite how cold it probably was in rivet city, he always wore a white tank top. He was a very memorable guy and didn't change his outfits often!
When Cutler died he still had his dogtags and chains around his neck, almost tight enough it was constricting blood flow. This sticks with Danse for a long time and plays a bit into my fic Danse and Uncertainty where he gets all emotional seeing a feral with a sundress on. It reminds him that all these monsters were once human, and potentially once someone's friend.
I don't quite have a story in mind for his burn scar, but given how he spent a big chunk of his life moving around it's not surprising he had some scars. He was never self conscious of them and loved showing them off and telling the stories, even if he had to stretch the truth a bit to make them more interesting.

Chapter Fourteen: Rumors (written for Zelinktines24 day 14 prompt) this one is kind of for you @aurathian - you inspired me with your 100 follower ask ๐
Read below or HERE
Even though heโs installed a prayer room at home, Link kneels before the goddess statue at the center of Tarrey Town. Itโs a force of habit ingrained in him from his youth that has become as second nature as breathing, even if heโs long forgotten the why and wherefore. Zelda briefly wonders if she should do the same, but canโt quite bring herself to. The irony isnโt lost on her as she stands silently waiting for him to pray, just as he used to do every morning and night for her.ย
Her mind wanders, trying to recall a time from before the Calamity when she observed him praying and canโt think of one instance. Itโs something he kept from her then so she wouldnโt feel worse that he had a closer connection to Hylia than Zelda did. Heโs different now than he was then. His memory loss has left him open and free in a way he never could or would allow himself to be before. He doesnโt remember things he kept hidden from her, and for that Zelda is grateful.
When he rises, Link brushes red clay off his tan trousers, but faint stains remain. Heโs foregone his Championโs tunic for the more practical Hylian garment heโs dyed forest green. Zelda thinks perhaps the color suits him just as well as the Champion teal.ย
A cool breeze stirs the air, and Zelda pulls Linkโs midnight blue cloak she wears over her travel clothes, closer to her. It smells of him and even though heโs at her side, adds an extra layer of security. An elderly couple stands nearby beneath a shelter, enjoying the pleasant morning. The woman smiles kindly over at them and Link offers a friendly wave in return, before taking Zeldaโs hand.
He guides her to an oddly shaped outcropping of rock with statues of various monsters battling on display.ย
โKilton has a penchant for the monsters of Hyrule,โ Link explains as they approach and an odd little, short, blue man, with an eager expression, emerges from the structure. โSo, if Grantรฉsonโs tip is true, he may have what weโre looking for.โ
Kiltonโs eyes practically light up with joy when he sees Link. โLink! Have you brought me a new picture?โย
โNot today, Kilton.โ Link chuckles, and squeezes Zeldaโs hand. โRumor has it you have a new monster for sale.โ
Zelda doesnโt think the manโs mouth can grow any wider, but his lips spread into a smile that stretches the span of his face. โI do! I do, but sheโs a fearsome little beast, Link!โ
โSurely nothing I canโt handle.โย
In answer, Kiltonโs eyebrows rise to his hairline as he turns away to retrieve a wooden crate with holes along the side. A faint mewling can be heard from within, and he pauses, hands on the lid. โI must warn you, she has devil eyes that glow in the dark!โ At the sound of Kiltonโs voice, the meowing increases to a much louder, higher-pitch. Scowling, he taps on the crateโs top. โQuiet you!โ
The crying ceases, and a small, white paw pokes out of one of the holes, batting at the air, before withdrawing. Crouching down, Zelda peers at where the paw had been and sees a glowing yellow eye gazing back at her. The meowing begins again in earnest.
Kilton covers his ears and rolls his eyes. โOh, she makes a terrible noise!โ
Link eyes the box, a mix of amusement and curiosity on his face. โDonโt be so dramatic, Kilton. Open the crate.โ
โOkay, but remember, you asked for it.โ Kilton shrugs before pulling off the lid, raising it like a shield in front of him and quickly jumping back several feet.
Even though sheโs certain Kilton is being ridiculous, Zelda takes care as she peers over the side of the crate. Sheโs greeted with a soft โMew?โ from a small, fluffy white kitten with large ears sitting timidly in the corner of the enclosure. It stares up at her with round, golden eyes, and Zeldaโs heart melts immediately. Without any hesitation, she scoops it up, feeling its tiny claws gently prick her skin when it begins nuzzling her chest.
Turning to Link, Zelda raises an eyebrow in question. With a nod and a tender smile, Link pulls a leather pouch off his belt and turns to Kilton.
โHow much for your โfearsome beastโ, Kilton?โ
Many thanks to @lovesickflora for being an awesome beta! (when did you change you name?!๐)

authorโs note | itโs been a week since i started playing lovebrush chronicles and i am obsessed yโall. hereโs a short, fluffy drabble dedicated lars rorschach bc that man owns me now !! (work cross-posted from my ao3 account)

His eyes remind you of the Mediterranean Sea.
A delicate blend of pale blue and subtle green hues. It's a little warmer in tone, fittingly enough. His oddly benevolent gaze resembles pools of aqua, with streaks of turquoise in his irises emulating the soft ebbs and flows of water.
I could drown in them, you think.
Waves of azure blue intermingling with seafoam green to create the most stunning shade of aquamarine.
I would like to, you muse.
A yawn escapes your lips as you prepare for bed. Itโs well into nighttime now, just approaching 11pm. Youโve changed into your pyjamas after finishing your usual evening routineโ a scorching hot, full-body shower and your ever-so-elaborate skincare routine.
Eyes shifting to your suitcase by the door, youโre glad you didnโt need to unpack your belongings. Your stay at this dorm is a provisional one since youโll be moving out in the morning and into the off-campus housing that your guardian, Cael, had arranged for you.
Tucked snugly into bed, the journey from your hometown to the small island occupies your thoughts. It had been an exhaustingly arduous overnight trip and with your seasickness rendering you bedridden for most of the time you were aboard the cruise ship, you were thankful for your mentor to have accompanied you.
You hadnโt anticipated your arrival at Harp Island to be an overwhelming one. Your first day for orientation, sure. But stepping foot on the official campus grounds of St. Shelter Academia and meeting so many people all at once was beyond what you had prepared for.
Their faces and names are all a Gaussian blur in your head. The fatigue of travelling and having to assimilate to your surroundings so soon finally catches up to you as you sink into the bed of your temporary accommodation.
It had been a long journey but you were glad to be here, at last.
You turn over, gently resting your cheek against your palm, vivid blue-green eyes flashing in your mind.
Lars Rorschach.
You ponder the possibility of encountering him again. Given his status as one of the academy's key investors, crossing paths with him seemed highly probable. You mull over the extent of his connections within St. Shelter and wonder how far-rooted his relations are with the academy. His familiarity with Cael suggests they were well acquainted, evident in the way they spoke to each other.
It would make sense if he was a former student.
You speculate on the academic path he might have pursued at the academy, envisioning a business-related course, given his role as the CEO of Feinz Group, a thriving multi-billion dollar enterprise. You picture him as someone who was a well-known figure on campus, he is charismatic enough, after all.
Not to mention devastatingly handsome.
With his towering stature and golden hair, sharp nose and chiselled jawline.
Amidst all his striking features, it was his eyes that captivated you the most.
You find yourself wondering if they change colour, refracting and reflecting under different lighting.
Were they blue most days? Or did they lean towards green?
The memory of his eyes sparkling as he openly praised In Passing, blissfully unaware of your identity as the author of the manga, replays in your mind.
"I really like this artist. I hope to get her autograph one day."
His remark was sincere, with all the enthusiasm of an easily excitable golden retriever.
A small smile unknowingly graces your lips as you slowly drift off to sleep, dreaming of aquamarine eyes.

Thomas Baker (he/him). 42. Chris Evans.
Thomas, or Tom or even, Tommy has lived in Ridge Harbor his whole life. His parents moved there shortly after the drought, he was born not long after. They had opened Bakerโs Inn, and while they were not strong believers in the cult they never gave reason for them to be distrustful. Rather they became a somewhat useful tool in the early history of Ridge Harbor. They had aimed to help the community grow, provide shelter, and a place where people could gather, and foster relationships. Thatโs where Thomas grew up, in the inn/tavern meeting new people, helping with drinks, luggage, keeping the fire going, carrying luggage and eventually taking over the inn and running it himself. As Ridge Harbor grew over the years so did the Inn, it started as a small communal room with two rooms for rent, now its a two floor establishment with the first floor being six rooms for rent, a kitchen, and a small lobby, and the upstairs being a large open floor communal room with tables, booths, couches, chairs, and a large hearth in the center. The establishment is now Thomasโ and he runs it more or less just how his parents did. An open door policy, making sure people are warm and welcomed, the beds are comfortable, and no matter who you are you feel like you can stop in to talk to friends. He wants it to be a community space, but also a welcoming sight for any new residents of Ridge Harbor, his mission is to try and make it the first place people want to stop in when they first get to Ridge Harbor.. Thomas is always armed with a warm smile, and warmer personality for everyone, stranger or not. Heโs never been someone who is quick to anger, in fact little ot no one in town has ever actually seen him angry. Thomas makes friends easily, and is quick to forgive if someone does somehow manage to upset him. Heโs witty, friendly, and incredibly chatty. He takes care of and protects not just the people he cares about, but anyone who needs it. Heโs always tried to be a friend to everyone, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to lend,ย in their times of need. Heโs been compared to a Golden Retriever multiple times.ย His own relationship with the cult isโฆ.sure maybe back then their faith helped save the town but now the thing thats going to keep it growing, and keep it going is hard work, and neighbors supporting one another, the community putting their sweat and love into Ridge Harbor, not some mysterious entity, or rituals or faith in unknown, but faith in each other, in community, in helping lift each other up. While Thomas is not hostile towards them, he always offers new people the advice of steering clear, rather than getting themselves roped into it because he warns they wonโt always be happy with what they find the deeper they dig into things.ย

i'm a dog person
i talk a lot and often about my fixations
i often get sick
join my valentines day event!
Leopold!
That man is the best at taking care of you 100%. He is soft and kind and will do anything you ask. He makes you soup, brings you medicine, cuddles with you, whatever you need. He wouldnโt let you lift a finger till you were all better.
Also Leopold gives off disney princess vibes which means he is an animal person. I think he would be a dog over cat person because heโs so much like a wide eyed golden retriever. So of course the two of you get a dog. I imagine an older shelter dog. Maybe the two of you go to the pound and fall in love with this adorable baby who hasnโt been adopted for a long time and you give her a forever home.
She would be obsessed with Leopold and follow him around everywhere and heโs a sucker for puppy dog eyes. Just like your doggy heโs excitable and eager to please and listen. Leopold would do so well with a yapper and nothing van change my mind about that.

โDays Betweenโ
Jinny {OC} x Eugene Sledge

Authorโs note: uh yeah this wasnโt supposed to turn into a story but here we areโฆ..Iโm so normal about the childhood best friends to lovers trope with Eugene. I had this song on repeat the entire time I was writing
Tagging: @rosies-riveters (pls lemme know if you donโt wanna be tagged thatโs totally fine LOL)
Content warnings: none
Word count: 1,580
โYouโll write when you have the time?โ Jinny asked, turning her head to the side to peer at Eugene. He was propped up on his elbows and twirling a strand of golden grass between his fingers, the sunlight shining against his face giving him an almost ethereal quality.ย
Feeling her eyes on him, Eugene met her gaze and offered what he hoped was a reassuring smile. โ โCourse I will. Itโll be like I never left.โ
But of course that wasnโt true and they both knew it. Besides Sid Philips, Jinny was Eugene Sledgeโs closest friend and he was herโs. The absence would be felt strongly and bitterly. It was bad enough that Sidney had already gone and the trio had been cut down to two, but now Eugene was going to leave too and Jinny wasnโt sure what her life looked like without him.ย ย
The grass around them gave them the illusion of shelter from the reality that in just a few days he would be gone for bootcamp and then to war. The fields and woods were their safe place; their childhood playground and teenage hideaways when the responsibilities of everyday life got to be too much. If one of them wasnโt at home it was likely that they could be found here.ย
โIโll miss you.โ Eugene spoke to the sky, but the words were meant for her.ย
Jinny looked up too, catching sight of a flock of birds taking off. There was so much she wanted to say to him: that she didnโt want him to leave, that she loved him more than a friend should love another and that she had for so long but the words were stuck in her throat and sat there choking her. It would be selfish for her to tell him those things, she chided herself. Telling him not to go when she knew how long he had dreamed of fighting was selfish. And telling him she loved him and risking ruining a friendship before he went to war? So instead she put all of the meaning and desires that made them up and put them into another phrase:ย
โIโll miss you too.โ
โ
He was a liar.ย
Jinny knew the thought were harsh, unfair, and frankly untrue as soon as they flashed in her mind. She quickly banished it, sending up a โIโm sorryโ to the heavens, and retrieved the box of bandages from the top shelf of the supply closet she was currently standing in.ย
ย Eugene had written, just like he said he would and as often as he could, and with each letter was the confirmation that he was alive. A sweet balm of relief however temporary. The real reason for the stinging pain in her chest was that no amount of letters would truly make up for him not being home. Because she did miss him and she felt it so acutely every moment. She had carefully folded each letter and tucked them into her nightstand to read again and again when her mind refused to stop worrying. And after she had read and reread them, she penned her own letters to him.ย
Recounting the mundane aspects of her life had seemed pointless and almost ridiculous when s he first put pen to paper. But the more she wrote and as her life shifted with her job at the hospital and rehabilitation center, the easier it came in sharing everything with Eugene. She hoped the stories about her visits to his parentโs home for dinner, her talks with soldiers during rounds, her ramblings about Sidneyโs latest schemes now that he was home, her thoughts about everything and anything might lend the same sense of comfort his letters brought to her.ย
Even now as she set to work organizing the boxes meant to be shipped overseas she began drafting a letter to him, one that she knew she would never send.ย
โDear Eugene,ย I love you. I canโt wait to take our walks together again and talk. I donโt even care about what we say. I just miss hearing your voice. When youโre home, Iโll tell you that in person, as much as you can bear to hear me say it. Just come home safe, thatโs all I want more than anything now or ever. Yours always, Jinny.โ
โ
The grass tickled her calves as it moved in the breeze that was sending the trees into a frenzy. It wasnโt as warm as it had been earlier in the day and Jinny was thankful for the reprieve from the constant sweating under its rays. Her eyes closed and arms crossed against her chest she let her mind drift away from the day just like she had when she was younger. Even though Sidneyโs return wasnโt enough to erase the ever present stain of Eugeneโs absence, having him home was a blessing and made walking their childhood route less bitter. Jinny had missed his constant talking and easy to come by smiles and she found some solace in busying herself with asking details about his upcoming wedding.ย
But today she was making the walk by herself since Sidney was busy and just for a few moments with her eyes closed she could almost feel the peace that had been gone since the war began. How much she had changed shocked her when she truly sat down to think about it. She had been so concerned about others and focused on their wellbeing that her own growth and maturity had come as a surprise. She was tougher now in so many ways but a heaviness came with it and sat on her shoulders even as she left work behind for the day. There was still much of herself that she was figuring out. Yet in moments like this, in the silence and the familiarity and in the missing of her friend, she knew that there were still pieces of her old self there that hadnโt changed.ย
โHey, Jinny.โ
The air left her lungs like she'd suffered a kick to the chest, mind not quite comprehending who that voice belonged to and how he was there and how it had most definitely come from behind her. She turned slowly as if he was Eurydice and she was Orpheus and looking back would send Eugeneโs soul back toย the underworld.ย
Because it was Eugene and he was standing right there with his arms at his sides looking so smart in his uniform. She stared, soaking in all of him, searching for signs of how much he changed in the time he had been away. He was skinnier and he looked tired, and there was that bone deep exhaustion that she saw in the face of every soldier she met at the hospital. But she could still see the laugh lines around his eyes and the sun touching his ginger hair making it glow, and she knew that this was her friend even with all that he brought back with him.ย
And then she was moving and throwing her arms around him and pulling him into her body. There was the possibility that she was hugging him too tightly but she couldnโt quite bring herself to care as all the fears dissipated with him against her. He was solid and warm and his arms were around her waist now holding just as tightly as she was to him. She could feel cheek against her head and his breathing on her ear, and she wondered if he could feel her tears falling on him.ย
โSorry I didnโt write the last few weeks. I was going to write you one last letter, but I figured I could say it all to you once we were face to face.โ
Eugeneโs voice was muffled but she could still hear him. There was a half hearted laugh against his shoulder and finally, after another few moments of holding onto each other, Jinny allowed herself to step back. Her hands were still clasping his arms as if he would vanish without her there to anchor. He was smiling now and so was she, reaching up to touch his cheek. โI guess I can let it slide this time.โ
His hand covered hers to hold it there. It was calloused and strong, so different from the hands she remembered before. She was surprised to see him looking at her with the same curiosity and searching that mirrored her own. He was trying to see the parts of her that had changed and fill in all the pieces of what her letters did not tell him about what he had missed of her life. Eugene swallowed hard and shook his head, still smiling.ย
โI love you Jinny Collins.โ
There were seldom moments in her life that she remembered being too stunned to say something. But standing here with Eugene in her arms Jinny found her mind reeling with his declaration. How many times had Jinny thought those same words? Even before he had left, she had dreamt of saying them to him.ย How many times had she thrown away a draft of a letter that had those three words written carefully at the end? She had loved him for so long. And he loved her?ย She cupped his cheek in her hand and stared up at him with teary eyes and uttered the phrase that she wished she had said the last day they were together in the field of grass:ย
โI love you too.โ

Kiss #47 for pitch black/sandman
kiss 47: "I've had a terrible day at work, so just kiss me."
It is an eternal night in space when Sandy calls him on the deck of a vast star-liner ship bound for Earth. Pitch seeps up like an oil-leak in a water-tank, glossily viscous, painting over the sterile walls in veridian, indigo, scarlet, all the colours of the darkness, toys the cruiser between the raking teeth of his fingernails like heโs planning to swallow it whole, Dreamer and all.
The little ship is just close enough to Earth that he can reach it, but his chest aches a little around an old, cold lance, reminding him not to push it. Itโs a show, nothing more. He hasnโt been the Nightmare King for centuries, millennia, long enough for the humans to crash to Earth from the stars and slowly return there.
Wherever they go, they bring their dreams with them. Their fears, however, stay sowed in the soils where they are born, until their ships venture close enough for a nightmare or two to slip through.
โLong day at work?โ Pitch asks facetiously; after all, there havenโt been anything like days for a long time in the depths of space. But whenever they are apart, it is day, and when they come together, it is night; there is no need for such busybodies as suns to get involved. Somewhere, a sleeping child shivers, the rollercoaster he rides in his sleep teeters and groans, he screams in delicious anticipation of the plummeting fall.
Sandyโs cheeks are crusted with constellations these days, and when he smiles itโs with the wattage of a dying sun going supernova. He holds up his tiny, pudgy hands towards the trailers of darkness like a child marvelling at streamers, gasping in silent delight when the cold shadows stutter and blush silver-gold-pewter-blue at his touch. Curlicues of light lap up the hems of Pitchโs robes, where inky-darkness melts into moonlight-skinned flesh marked with the imprints of old celestial burn scars.
โI missed you,โ Sandy signs, one chubby finger over his lips; obligingly, Pitch lowers his slithering voice to a spidery skittering.
โItโs been just terrible since youโve been gone,โ he promises, in a chilling whisper, โGenerations of children raised with nothing but pure fear of the dark. Iโve been working very hard.โ
Sandy laughs. It is a sound without sound, the itching of sand behind the ear, the memory of the softness of a golden retrieverโs fur, the plush warmth of a cosy bed, the taste of apple-pie. Pitchโs teeth gleam as he bites into it, ripe and willing as a fresh peach, and eats it whole in one convulsive shudder; inside the dark sand that dusts the eyelids of Earthโs sleepers, the comforts of home whisper a fresh breeze through a thousand illusory autumnal woods as slowly the black trees sprout gold leaves. A sleeping man curled up restlessly in the dank shelter of an underpass smiles.
โI believe you,โ he says, an impish smile on a cherubic face, a body small and soft lighter than air as he floats up, space-walking with no tether but Pitchโs crepuscular hooks in the deck like the arching ribs of a cage, โCan you believe that not one of these sailors have known a drop of caution, not one breath of terror?โ
โNothing but sickening-sweet dreams, all the way? How disgusting,โ Pitch remarks, and catches Sandy in one gaunt, glitter-taloned hand. Sandy golden as summer wheat blushes the pale violet of dusk as he is reeled into Pitchโs narrow, cavernous chest.
His small hands are hot as solarflares on Pitchโs comet-cold cheeks. His eyes drip warm honey, his hair tickles like prickling steam from a comfortable mug of cinnamon-spiced chocolate, his plush lips part like the sweet thighs of an angelic lover, all softness and heat within.
โWhat kind of benevolent Guardian am I? I simply must kiss away your terrible day,โ teases Sandy.
โOh, you must,โ Pitch agrees, and bends forward to let him do exactly that.

Personality
Optimus at his core is a gentle-sparked nerd, wanting nothing more than to live a peaceful life absorbing knowledge and engaging in science and archaeology. Unfortunately, the world is not so kind to him, forcing him to harden against it if he wishes to protect what he loves. Already carrying trauma of loss from his youth, he becomes aggressive in his defensiveness as more and more is taken from him. His senses of morality and hope battle with learned cynicism, often seeming to oscillate as they tug in one direction or the other. Once his trust is fully broken, it is difficult to win back, and he is willing to kill for the hope to return to peace.
โฐ โฐ โฐ โฐ โฐ โฐ โฐ
Background
Though born to a Prime, young Optimus was not told of his identity. He resided with his creators in a hidden, well-protected village away from the more contested parts of Cybertron, shielded from the constant battles over the dwindling supply of energon that spread across the planet. They had their own small mine to support them, and the child Prime began his life sheltered in conservative comfort.ย
But despite his creators' best efforts, such sheltering was doomed to fail. What they had attracted raiders, and though they could effectively defend themselves, there came an occasion when the attack was larger than expected, with a newly engineered weapon they had no counter for. Optimus' creators bid their precious sparkling take shelter in a concealed energon cellar in their home, an order he obeyed as he always did between raids. With a supply of fuel and minerals to sate the cravings of his growing frame, he could wait as long as necessary for the battle above to conclude. This one, however, never seemed to end. The time dragged on twice, three times, ten times as long as any raid had been before, and neither his carrier nor sire came to retrieve him. Finally he did what he'd been told never to do, and ventured outside of his hiding place.ย
What he found was a ghost town. Bodies of familiar mecha were strewn along the streets, torn and broken. A few who surrendered were simply missing, taken away as hostages, but his creators were valiant fighters, and both lay now among the slain. Optimus was alone. His energon supply dwindled with no one to restock it, and loneliness burrowed into his spark. As a result, when one cycle he heard a commotion approaching, he couldnโt help but stay out to peer through a window, just to be able to see a living mech.
The one who found him was Sentinel Prime, and though Optimus didn't know it, he'd come exclusively to search for him. He told stories filled with hope and made promises of chances to learn still more, and after they gave the husks of Optimus' creators a respectful burial, the young one left his old home to follow him.ย Sentinel became his mentor and guardian, and he soon came to view his fellow pupils Megatron and Elita One as siblings, granting him a sense of something like family. It was not an overtly affectionate one, but he valued it nonetheless. His best friends, meanwhile, were books. He soaked up knowledge like a sponge, finding particular interest in science and history but devouring other areas of information as well.ย
After reaching maturity, he fought alongside his mentor and adoptive siblings for Sentinel's vision of uniting Cybertron, and together they succeeded in tethering their planet to a star, bringing light to their world and powering the Allspark, revitalizing the natural production of energon and setting off a new golden era. Sentinel tried to offer him leadership, telling him at last of his heritage, but Optimus could not believe that he was worthy, nor truly a Prime, and declined. Instead, he oversaw Cybertron's division of science, while Megatron ruled its defense. The life of peace that followed was everything Optimus could have wanted. He absorbed himself in his study of history and science, feeding his passion for knowledge without the worries of war or survival weighing upon him. He'd found stability after spending all of his youth in strife, and was finally happyโso much that he was blind to his brother's jealous resentment and early signs of betrayal. Megatron wanted more power, and Optimus let him take it when he claimed the excuse of needing to protect their way of life more effectively.
An archaeological discovery eventually lead Optimus to the realization that what Sentinel had told him of his heritage was true. Shaken by the thought, he still tried to deny it to himself.ย He didn't want to be a Prime. Sentinel was the Prime. He only lead in science.ย But the evidence remained regardless of his feelings about it, and, giving in, he began in secret to research what this meant his duties should be.
Meanwhile, Megatronโs ambitions only continued to grow, and clashes between the two of them became more frequent as he tried to encroach on Optimus' areas of leadership and demanded Optimus rally his science division for war against neighboring aliens. Though the aliens had struck first, Optimus maintained the view that they should only engage in defense, and furthermore that his own division should not be on the frontlinesโthey were scientists, not warriors, and he later called a meeting to entreat them to ignore Megatronโs demands and instead stay at his side.ย
Seeking answers to explain his brother's sudden compulsion for war, and took an opportunity to investigate his personal quarters, but found only that an artifact heโd earlier brought there for safekeeping had been restored to pristine condition, and though this was strange, he reasoned that Megatron must have cleaned it up. What he did not realize was that the artifact was sentient and had been communicating with Megatron. The consciousness within itโthe mythical Fallen, one of the original dynasty of Primes who had defied the others and attempted to harvest the Sun of an inhabited worldโtold Megatron of Optimus's snooping. Megatron took this an as excuse to arrest Optimus for treason, and to ambush him along the way in attempt to kill his companions.
Realizing his brother would not see reason, Optimus at last publicly acknowledged his own true title and stood up in opposition against him. Megatron was threatening their peace, their freedom, the life of abundance and potential that meant so much to him. Optimus did not seek war, but he would do what it took to protect the peaceful citizens who relied upon him. He would fight for the right to remain peaceful.ย
That resolve lead only to destruction; Megatron would not be stopped, and battles ravaged their planet, death surrounding them all over again. But Sentinel had a plan. With his new invention, the space bridge carried on his Ark, all of the Autobots could escape to find a new life and future. This was their final plan, their final hope. With this, they could be free again.ย
And then an explosion lit up the sky. Sentinel's Arkโฆ had been shot. Optimusโs mentor and paternal guardian was dead, and all of their hopes with him. Despair and grief tore into Optimus's spark, soon turning to anger as he fixated onto MegatronโMegatron had done all of this. He had started this war, had taken all they had, all they'd once fought for. All of this was because of him, and would only end with him. Optimus would take him down, no matter the cost. Even if he had to die, had to abandon his friendsโฆย
In the end he found enough reason to back down from his suicide mission, but he could not forgive Megatron. Without Sentinel's space bridge and no other options left now, he gave the order to launch the Allspark into space, plunging Cybertron back into darkness and dooming their species to a slow starvation once again. When Megatron left to chase after the Allspark, Optimus realized his folly and, leaving the other Autobots to evacuate on the remaining Ark without him, selected a small group of volunteers to join him in racing his brother to the relic, a hunt that would lead them both to Earth.ย
Even when humans acted against the Autobots, Optimus was unwilling to deploy force against them, recognizing that the smaller aliens were not so different from Cybertronians. Fortunately a certain human by the name of Samuel Witwicky was willing to help him, and when Optimus told his new friend to go through with a last resort plan to keep the Allspark out of Megatron's hands by pushing it into his chest to destroy it along with his own spark, Sam disobeyed and released its energy intoย Megatron'sย spark instead, effectively ending the Cybertronian war and saving Optimusโs life in the process. Optimus was deeply grateful, and since Cybertron could no longer be restored, he chose to stay on Earth, working together with a specially founded military group called NEST to protect the planet from the remaining Decepticons.
But of course things could not end that easily. A shard of the Allspark was stolen and used to resurrect Megatron, while Sam, who had been imprinted with the knowledge contained in a second shard, was abducted. Optimus fought to save the boy, and gave his life in the process. Sam and his other human allies then learned that an ancient traitor Prime known as the Fallen had returned and intended to harvest the sunโฆ and only another Prime could stop him. The key the Fallen soughtโthe legendary Matrix of Leadershipโalso possessed the power to revive Optimus, and so began the race for it. Sam once again saved Optimus's life, and the Fallen was defeated for good.
During the time that followed, the ruins of Sentinelโs ship were discovered on the Earth's moon, and Optimus used the Matrix to resurrect his mentor. Delighted to have him back, Optimus offered to concede Autobot leadership to him, but Sentinel refused, saying in a display of humility that Optimus was the mentor now. This was all a ruse. Once he had been welcomed into the NEST base and given access to top secret information, Sentinel turned on the Autobots and killed Ironhide, before revealing that he had made a deal with Megatron during the war. In shock, Optimus tried to confront him, but Sentinel was unmoved by his words, and used his intact space bridge pillars to bring in an army of Decepticons to launch an assault on the city. He then defeated Optimus in battle during the chaos, but spared his life in belief that he would come to his side. When Optimus refused, Sentinel publicly denounced the Autobots as rebels, leading humanity to believe that Earth would be freed if they exiled them into space.
Optimus did not wish to overstay his welcome, but suspected Decepticon treachery, and so only pretended to comply while hiding along with his soldiers within one of the ship's rocket boosters. Sam asked desperately about the plan before the launch, but after experiencing such a deep betrayal, Optimus's capacity for trust had been brokenโฆ and he lied that there was noneโa lie that proved fortunate, because Sam was bugged and being blackmailed by Decepticons with a hostage under threat. So the Autobots were only presumed dead when Starscream fired upon the launching ship, and were there to save the human race yet again when Sentinel tried to bridge them to Cybertron as slaves to rebuild infrastructure. Even when Megatron asked for a truce and Sentinel begged for mercy, Optimus slew them both. They were traitors and he could not trust them not to betray again.ย
Gratitude from the humans was in short supply. The Autobots had to shoulder blame for the decimation of Chicago, and soon both sides were ruthlessly hunted by a human group in the company of Cybertronian bounty hunter Lockdown. Several were lost, and Optimus himself was injured, taking refuge among piles of scrap in an abandoned building as a missile in his chassis sent him into stasis. He was found by inventor Cade Yeager, who removed the missile and performed some repairs, awakening him. Though Cade intended to keep Optimus hidden, his friend sold them out in hope of a bounty, and the men who arrived threatened to shoot Cade's daughter if he did not reveal the Prime's location. The commotion alerted Optimus and he burst from his hiding place to aid his new friend, providing a distraction while the humans escaped before rendezvousing with them and the remaining Autobot survivors.
With Cade's help, they learned the humans responsible were KSI agents, and that they were melting down Autobots and Decepticons alike to obtain materials to build artificial Transformers. Enraged, Optimus stormed the building, destroying the building and threatening the agents before calming and leaving, deflatedโkilling these humans would not bring back those gone. No sooner were they gone than KSI sent their creations after them including โGalvatronโ, who was none other than a rebuilt Megatron and would not obey their commands. The fight was interrupted by Lockdown capturing Optimus, where he learned of the so-called โCreatorsโ who had hired the bounty hunter, before his fellow Autobots rescued him. He had little motivation now to protect humanity again as Galvatron prepared to detonate a terraforming seed in Hong Kong, but Cade convinced him to have faith in their potential.ย
After the battle was won, Optimus resolved to chase down the one who had sent Lockdown. He found Quintessa on Cybertron, but, weakened by his wounds from the battle on Earth and depleted energon from his journey, the Prime was easily overpowered by her psychic ability and squad of servants. She chained him up, entering his mind to exploit memories from his past, all the while delivering strategically timed painful shocks. Digging into his buried insecurities, she shredded his self worth by giving him full blame for Cybertron's downfall, then extended a veil of generosity in an offer for redemption if he would only obey her. Broken, he accepted.
Now christened โNemesis Primeโ, Optimus returned to Earth to seek an ancient staff for Quintessa, prepared to cut down anyone who stood in his way. With all of his other old friends dead, only Bumblebee was able to get through to his buried sense of self. Optimus remembered his morals, that he would not sacrifice another planet to bring back Cybertron. But the damage Quintessa had done remained, and he gave in to despair, ready to accept his death as the guardians prepared to execute him. After Cade convinced them to let him live, he dragged himself up to save the Earth yet again, only the habit of duty giving him strength.

Red Bottle Brew Pub vs Rusty Bin Bar
There are two bars in my town I'd like to discuss. One where it's socially acceptable to drink, and one where it's not. First, Red Bottle Brew Pub. Here, you will be greeted at the door by a smiling young hostess dressed in the standard issue company shirt. She is saving money for college right now. Some of the staff are in similar situations to your hostess. Others are idealists working a few nights a week because they want to support the local entrepreneur and quality microbrews. Their wages will be deposited into a savings account that will be used to pay the mortgage or travel the world. Only a few staff are truly working to make ends meet. You sit down at the table and for $3.50 you can enjoy a 16 oz. fine microbrew. Surrounded by all your white, educated friends, you can feast upon local sausages, burgers made from grass fed beef, and all sorts of other health foods. The decor creates a wholesome environment where you can bring your kids or enjoy an after work beer or two with your coworkers before headed home to your white picket fence, golden retriever, and warm bed. Any excessive drinking at the Brew Pub is not seen as a personal fault or moral evil. It is a well deserved way of winding down and having fun after a long day of work. Anything you may do in your inebriated state will be laughed off once the hangover wears off. There are no judgements passed here.
However, head down the street to the Rusty Bin and you'll find a much different environment. It is not the extreme of course, go a little further down the street, almost to the other side of the tracks, and you'll find Flint's, where the true low-lifes and alchies hang out. I've yet to patronize this establishment as it has been deemed truly unacceptable, and even dangerous by my former place of employment. So I'll have to describe it's whiter, slightly classier counterpart, the Rusty Bin.
Here, behind the bar you will see young women with low cut shirts and tight jeans. They flirt with the customers, knowing it will bring in the big tips. They rely on these tips to support their children. The Rusty Bin has a surprising number of beers on tap, but it appears everyone is drinking Coors Light, after all it is cheap. The jukebox plays the same Red Hot Chili Peppers song over and over again. The menu consists of an array of deep fried favorites designed to absorb the alcohol, but leave you thirsty for more. When you come to the Rusty Bin after work, you are blowing your paycheck, not drinking a well deserved beer. Excessive drinking is frowned upon by those who see you leaving the bar. Shouldn't you be spending that money to pay your bills, not blowing it on beer?
Yes, I've just made a lot of gross generalizations. Maybe my perceptions are inaccurate, but let me tell you what I see and feel when I'm spending time in each location. At the brew pub, somehow I see fakery. I see people with invisible walls around them. Forced smiles and behaviors learned since childhood of how to look, what to say, what not to say. Somehow, the Rusty Bin seems to much more real. People laugh, cry, pour out their souls in a way I can't describe. Somehow life's pain is very palpable in the Rusty Bin and no one tries to hide it behind their middle class values.
There's a guy named Joey who I have run into a few times at the Rusty Bin, who also had been staying at the homeless shelter I worked at on and off. The first time I saw him, he was drunk by the time my friend and I arrived. He came to talk to us and offered to buy us a beer. We refused of course, but he proceeded to ask, "what's wrong with letting a homeless guy buy you a beer?" We couldn't say no then. Yes, we knew he had very little money. And because he was drunk, he wouldn't be allowed back into the shelter that night. But he wanted to buy us a beer. He drinks, we drink, so why not sit down and do it together instead of trying to pretend that the other doesn't do it. It seemed okay to drink with him because we were being real to who we were.
The next time I saw Joey at the Rusty Bin was quite the experience. My friends and I had been drinking elsewhere all night and so had he. As soon as we arrived, we started drinking with Joey. Soon he asked us to go out back and smoke. A few minutes later, I was not only drunk, but also high, but the conversation that ensued for that few minutes behind the Rusty Bin was one that I would never give up. Here we were, two middle class, college educated white girls, smoking pot with a homeless guy who stayed at the shelter at which we worked. Suddenly, the conversation became very real. (Or felt so, because of the pot.) We all acknowledged that we drink and smoke. Somehow this was okay for my friend and I, but not for Joey. Joey pointed to the roof next door and told us that was where he would be sleeping. It's where he always stayed when he needed to drink and didn't have any other place to go. When I talked about how that wasn't fair, Joey just shrugged and said, "That's the way it is." My friend and I told Joey that when we work at the shelter we felt like we had to put on airs and pretend that we didn't drink or smoke pot. We do, we just can't talk about it. Joey said he just had to respect those boundaries. It was such a real conversation and I just wish it could have happened sooner.

Once upon a time in a small town nestled between lush green fields and a clear blue river, there lived a dog named Charlie. Charlie was a beautiful golden retriever with soulful brown eyes and a playful personality. He had spent his entire life in a small dilapidated dog shelter on the outskirts of town, hoping to find a home and a family he could call his own. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and months into years, but Charlie remained unclaimed. His heart longed for love and companionship, but each day brought only frustration and a growing sense of desolation. The barking of other dogs echoed through the shelter, but Charlie seemed invisible to those looking for a new furry friend. One chilly fall morning, a young couple named Emily and Mark stumbled into the shelter. They had recently lost their beloved canine companion and were eager to fill the void in their lives. As they walked through the rows of cages, their eyes were caught by Charlie, who was sitting at the gate of his enclosure with a wistful expression on his face. Charlie was wagging his tail, desperately hoping that this was the day he would find his new home. Emily knelt down, carefully reached through the bars and ran her hand through Charlie's fur. She felt the warmth of his body and the depth of his longing as he brushed against her fingers. Tears came to her eyes, and she whispered: "It's him, Mark. We have to give him a chance." Mark nodded, fascinated by Charlie's gentle nature and the spark of hope in his eyes. The couple approached the shelter staff, overwhelmed with excitement. The papers were signed, the dues paid, and Charlie's cage door swung open, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his life. At first Charlie couldn't believe his good fortune. Emily and Mark showered him with love and affection, making him feel like the happiest dog in the world. They took him for long walks, played ball in the park, and even let him curl up in their bed at night. Charlie had never felt such warmth and contentment before, and his heart overflowed with happiness. The weeks turned into months, and everything seemed perfect. But then Emily received the news that she had been offered an incredible job across the country. The decision to do so tore at her heart, for she knew that their cozy little home would no longer be a good fit for Charlie. Desperate for a solution, Emily and Mark placed an ad online, hoping to find someone who could offer Charlie the love and care he deserved. Weeks went by, but no one showed interest in the middle-aged dog. Finally, the Anderson family got in touch. They lived in a large suburban home with a spacious backyard and were looking for a companion for their lonely Labrador Bella. The Andersons had lost their previous dog a few months earlier, and the emptiness in their lives seemed to be the same as in Charlie's. With a heavy heart, Emily and Mark agreed to meet the Anderson family. On a misty Sunday afternoon, they found themselves in the Andersons' living room, surrounded by family photos and the soothing aroma of homemade cookies. As tears came to Emily's eyes, she hugged Charlie one last time and whispered: "I love you, my sweet boy. It's better for you." Charlie's tail wagged weakly, as if he understood everything, but deep down his heart ached. It felt as if the rug had been pulled out from under his paws, leaving him unsteady and heartbroken. Just when he thought he had finally found his home, he was snatched away as if cruelly pranked. The Andersons, seeing the sadness in Charlie's eyes, promised Emily and Mark that they would give him the love and care he deserved.
