So I think I've been spending too much time on here, because last night I dreamt about DBD but sort of mashup of AUs? i think most people see vulnerability as a weakness because thats what the media has always portrayed it as, but its really a strength in my opinion. being afraid of vulnerability can be so isolating and prevent us from forming solid, intimate relationships with people. learning how to be vulnerable and embracing vulnerability is learning how to understand ur emotions and how to project them in a way thats authentic. it sounds like bullshit but i swear once u realize being vulnerable is actively choosing to be open and honest about ur emotions ur life can get so much easier

2. you’re called to do something brave, but your fear is real and stuck in your throat. what is the first thing you do?

honestly…. doing something brave… being the overthinker i am that wording is leading me to believe that something perilous is involved and i just dont do well under pressure so probably i would cry and panic :) and do like a cute quick little pros and cons list idk this feels like a very time sensitive thing and thats just not my strong suit

3. what is something people often get wrong about you?

that im super confident and social and that i can easily talk to anyone. while i understand why people think this way, im actually only talkative because im nervous and dont like uncomfortable silence so im overcompensating by making pointless and fast paced conversation.

maybe the good place or big little lies! i rewatched them both recently and theyre just literally perfect shows idk

AHHH i have so many wtf um…i really enjoy the 2018 smash hit box office ball buster “ophelia” with rey from star wars (ms. daisy ridley) its just so good and it was all i could think of at the moment but i have so many movies that id die for and love so much so i dont think its fair to rank them

6. a concert you’ll never forget?

i went to atlive last november to see cage the elephant and greta van fleet but metallica was headlining. i assumed the metallica fans would be kind and caring but these specific fans were the exact opposite and ruined the experience for me sadly and ill never forget it since it was my first time seeing cage and theyre my favorite band in the universe :/// but thankfully i did get to see their performance as well as gretas and they both did awesome!!

ok so context. my nightstand is a three tier corner shelf so i put like my drinks n shit on there sometimes and like my rings but its mostly for decoration so right now on the top shelf we have 2 edward scissorhand funko pops and a fishtank cool tree decoration and an incense burner that looks like a japanese tower thing? and also a dobby figurine, then the next shelf down we have a shelf dedicated to frog memorabilia and has a salt lamp on it and then the next shelf down has some stuffies and books and a sketchpad!!

9. give us a snapshot of an ordinary moment in your life that brings you great joy.

this is hard bc i think i dont take the time to actually reflect on all the small simple things that bring me joy very often but recently ive started coloring in childrens coloring books (not the adult coloring books those r too elaborate) and that brings me so much joy. showering and being in the shower also brings me so much joy and peace i just feel so cut off from the world in the shower its nice :’)

10. what is one thing you’re deeply grateful for right now?

my cat! her name is newspaper but also bestie. like newspaper is her official name but i literally only call her bestie and she likes it. also my frog willie nelson i love him so much and i hope he lives forever and is immortal and rules the world. i also am thankful for books for being a place for me to run to when i feel really bad bc thats been happening kinda alot recently. Hi!! I've seen the untamed and A. I love your posts!! B. I was wondering if you'd read the book and maybe had any warnings to give for someone who is ace and would very much not like to read beyond kissing?? And C. Do you have a favorite episode of CQL? If yes then which and why??

Hello hello, I’m so glad you like my posts! I have indeed read MDZS and do indeed have warnings for it. I listed the major ones here in a post when someone asked for a link to the translation (I promise the link is there if you hover over it). I will add spoilery ace-specific warnings (basically a list of the very few chapters and sections to skip) at the end of this post because tumblr is inconvenient about spoiler cuts. But in the meantime, my favorite episode!

My favorite episode of CQL is ep 44 (with a possible option on the first ~24 minutes of ep 45 as well, but mostly ep 44). It has almost everything I love.Wangxian! Wangxian with kids! The kids themselves! Lan Wangji and WeiWuxian standing together! The inherent ridiculousness that is required to happen whenever Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning are within five feet of each other! And of course, Wei Wuxian finally gets to talk back at people for spreading malicious rumors about him and blaming him for every wrong in the world. This ask probably doesn’t require graphics, but staring at these pictures makes me happy so here we go. The highlights:

Okay, on to the ace-friendly content guidelines:

You’re honestly good to go for quite a long time, though you should know that the dynamic is different. CQL has a lot more build-up and, frankly, pining going on that MDZS does. Some of this can be attributed to translation (there are references EN readers won’t catch), and some to the fact that Wei Wuxian is the POV character and he is undeniably an unreliable narrator who barely knows what he himself wants, let alone anyone else. He spends a long time thinking Lan Wangji dislikes him, and not realizing he himself is bi. He also… flirts in a way that is intended to offend, when he’s pretending to be Mo Xuanyu, and some of those situations involve innuendo. It’s just really different for a long time.

Okay, moving on. This story is not really about smut and sex at all. There is some kissing without explicit consent in chapter 69 (Wei Wuxian doesn’tknow who’s kissing him but the audience does). If you want to skip that section stop reading at “After the song finished, Wei Wuxian crossed his arms and leaned against the tree in a more comfortable position. The flute was between his arms, while the flower was still at his chest, emitting a crisp, quiet fragrance.” and skip to “He began to walk randomly around the forest.”(this is in the middle of a paragraph, but the start is just about giving up looking for the person who kissed him).

You might want to skip chapter 95 entirely, and definitely most of it. You maywant to stop reading at “After a hard struggle, Wei Wuxian finally dragged Lan Wangji back to the inn. When the owner saw that they caught two hens in the middle of the night and even gave them to her, her expression almostcouldn’t be put into words” in Chapter 94 (It’s the start of a bath scene that leads into the next chapter). There is one section at the end of chapter 95 where Wei Wuxian begins to confess his feelings after sex if you want to read that. It starts with “Wei Wuxian had buried the things he wanted to ask Lan Wangji inside of him for a long time, too afraid to ask” and does contain some situational references to the sex (they’re on the bed and Wei Wuxian is calming down), and goes through the end of the chapter. If you want to avoid it entirely you can skip straight from the start of the bath scene in 94 to chapter 96 and just know that they’re having major, major miscommunications about feelings.

You should be good from then on until chapter 111 in terms of actual sex taking place. Wei Wuxian references the sex and wanting to sleep with Lan Wangji in chapter 100 as part of the actual confession scene (“I want/wanted to sleep with you”). It never gets more explicit than that phrase, but it’s almost impossible to edit out by skipping text and there’s a lot of plot happening around it.

In Chapter 111, you have some choices. If you don’t want to read references to the kiss in chapter 69, stop at “As he wished, Wei Wuxian was pinned onto the ground and smooched for a long while.” If you don’t mind that reference, stop at “Only a lil’ fuddy-duddy like you would believe me hahahahahaha…” Then you can either skip rest of the chapter, or to “Carefully, Lan Wangji went to kiss him, his movements somewhat clumsy”and read through “Until now, it’d been thirteen years since scab grew over this wound” if you want the story of how Lan Wangji got a brand on his chest to match Wei Wuxian’s scar (this tangent is embedded within the sex scene).

Chapter 112 is really up to your taste, and there’s nothing super plot-relevant you’ll miss by skipping it. There’s no sex, but there are references to the fact that they’re having sex often, and there’s a bunch of teasing that leads tolight bondage and making out before they’re interrupted by the novel’s version of meeting Mianmian and her family. I think that if you want just the Mianmian scene without the references and teasing you can start at “The two parted at once” and end at “Lan Wangji plunged over and finally caught him, holding him tight in his arms as he protested, ‘We have [bowed as in a marriage ceremony], so we already are… [married].’”

Chapter 113 is the conclusion of the main text and is entirely ace-friendly. They’re married! And happy! Joy and looking to the future!

I have not read most of the extras. The last two (125: Lotus Seed Pod and 126: Dream Come True) are the only two I have read, and they are ace-friendly (there’s some pining and kissing and flirting and cuteness, but nothing beyond that).  I know that you definitely DO NOT want read the Incense Burner extras (117 and 119). They’re reportedly entirely dream/fantasy smut stuff.

The Untamed/陈情令 Rewatch, Episode 5 (spoilers for everything)

[covers MDZS chaps 14 – 17, and kinda 117, aka bonus chap Incense Burner Part 1, lmfao]

WangXian meter: 🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰

(a 🐰 is earned every time there is a WangXian scene or even when they’re just thinking of each other…more than one 🐰 can be given based on the level of WangXian-ness in a scene)

Of course I loved every single moment of Lan Zhan and Wei Ying’s time in the library pavilion, but I wanted to give a little love to their waterbourne abyss adventure first, in particular the moment above, which always makes me laugh, especially since everyone around them was within earshot to hear what Wei Ying was saying. What made the scene even funnier was Jiang Cheng’s exasperated interjection—the guy was probably sick of Wei Ying’s flirting by now—followed by Wei Ying’s snappy response. I just loved the way he said shut up, which served as yet another reminder of the great voice performance provided by Liu Zhixing-laozi, who always makes Wei Ying sound completely adorable because of the way he delivers his lines.

I wish the show had a bigger budget to handle that Caiyi night hunt since it could have been so much better, as exemplified by the way their water adventure was depicted in the donghua. I thought the water ghouls had an interesting design; as CGI effect goes, they were actually one of the better ones in the show, but then everything else kind of fell short. After watching the donghua’s version of these scenes, I found the action portion of the water ghouls hunt even more lacking; I especially missed seeing Wei Ying’s awesome sword surfing.  Still, what it lacked in fight choreography and CGI efficiency, it made up for in WangXian-ness (with a touch of ChengQing to boot)—Big Bro Xichen was probably quite proud of himself for pulling off yet another match-making scheme successfully—so ultimately, I found the whole hunt pretty enjoyable.

The Library Pavilion

I can’t imagine anyone who ships WangXian would dislike anything that took place in the Library Pavilion, so I’m no different.  I loved every second of Wei Ying and Lan Zhan’s interactions in that room, I really don’t have anything more I can say that hasn’t already been mentioned and repeated by everyone else, so I’ll just keep it simple and say bless the production team for sneaking in gay porn…

…and also for keeping in what was most likely a blooper of Xiao Zhan tripping on his way out as if it was something Wei Ying meant to do in the scene:

By the way, after reading the novel, I can’t help but think about that super smutty Incense Burner chapter now every time I watch this scene and then I would giggle uncontrollably like a stupid crazy person. 

ChengQing? YES please

This episode gave us the birth of a new ship—Jiang Cheng/Wen Qing, or ChengQing—and I could not be more happy about it. This development was not from the novel, and just seeing how freaking adorable a lovestruck Jiang Cheng was made me absolutely grateful that Team CQL decided to add it into the show. Every moment between Jiang Cheng and Wen Qing was cuteness to me, especially how bashful he would be within her vicinity. When she tried to examine his wound on the boat, his blushing virgin reaction was just too precious for words. I loved seeing this shy, innocent and boyish side of Jiang Cheng: it made me love his character even more. Although now, considering what has happened, seeing him buy that comb, which is supposed to be a gift representing yearning, only makes my heart hurt like crazy for the poor guy, while also making me wish the show had followed through even more with their romance so that the two of them could have at least enjoyed some happiness before everything was all over.  

There was also a time in the beginning, when I first watched this episode, that I actually worried that the writers of The Untamed were trying to develop a love triangle between Wei Ying/Wen Qing/Jiang Cheng, which would’ve been really stupid and unnecessary; thank goodness that didn’t end up to be the case. As if Jiang Cheng really needed another reason to be bitter or resentful about Wei Ying…that kind of trope would’ve just been pointless noise so I’m relieved the show didn’t choose that dull path.

Wei Ying Continues to Burrow His Way Into Lan Zhan’s Psyche

Exhibit A:

They were only in the Library Pavilion for a few days (even though in the book it was at least a month) but already Lan Zhan had gotten used to Wei Wuxian’s non-stop chatter so when he was actually quiet, he couldn’t help but take a peek his way to see why he was acting so uncharacteristically.

Exhibit B:

The mention of Emperor’s Smile obviously reminded Lan Zhan of their little sword ballet under the moonlight, which will eventually give way to just reminding him of Wei Ying in general.

Random Bits of Randomness

I thought this little moment where Wei Ying fixes Lan Zhan’s sleeve was just adorable, and I have feeling that was probably an improvisation by Xiao Zhan since the opportunity presented itself.

Little did Wei Ying know at the time that he would be the first one for a lot of things when it came to Lan Zhan.

Obviously the folks in the middle—Wei Ying, Lan Zhan, Jiang Cheng, and the Wen siblings—did NOT want to share their boats with some lowly Gusu Lan disciples. Seeing the group of them all crowded on that one boat at the end always gives me a good chuckle. At least Lan Xichen was nice enough to share his boat with his fellow sect brothers.

Questions I still have

The Inn situation: even now I still do not understand why they had to stay at an inn overnight. Big Bro Xichen said that they would set up for Caiyi Town in the morning, and since that place is only like 5 hours away from Cloud Recesses (a fact mentioned in the third episode when Wei Ying had to run back to town to retrieve their invitation), that means they got to town by midday at the latest. So why did they have to rent a room? Couldn’t they head straight for the lake? And it’s not like they were resting at the inn for a couple of hours until night fall so that they could actually do a night hunt in the evening for once, since they didn’t go to the lake until the next day and actually hunted the water ghouls during the day. Hell, some poor villager died during the night while they were hanging out at their inns, waiting for daytime. Then there’s the rooming situation: as much as I loved the arrangement and I hate that I am essentially looking a gift horse in the mouth, but serioulsy, why WAS Wei Ying and Lan Zhan rooming together? It would’ve made more sense for the Yunmeng bros to be roommates and then the Twin Jades to share another room. Yet, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan ended up together, not only in the same room, but in a completely different inn than the others since, according to the innkeeper, the two of them are the first customers he’s had in a while. Not the entire group, only the two of them. I couldn’t help wondering, did the others book up all the rooms in one hotel, so Wei Ying and Lan Zhan had no choice but to go to another hotel instead? Most importantly, was this yet another one of Big Bro Xichen’s clever schemes to further push his little brother together with Wei Ying???

Finally, my other question from this episode is: why doesn’t Su She have a head ribbon on? Is it because he’s married already? Does that mean that all the Gusu Lan disciples who still have their head ribbons on are unmarried or maybe even still virgins, including dear Uncle Lan Qiren, since I’m sure there’s probably a sect rule prohibiting premarital sex.  I will probably never get an answer to this since I’m pretty sure nothing of the sort was mentioned about Su She in the novel, but it’s just so weird to me that they made that choice for the drama.

Happy Lantern festival, folks!

Tomorrow is the first full moon of the new year in the Chinese calendar, the 15th day of the first month. The moon is so pretty and bright, probably because we’re getting a super-moon tomorrow. This is pretty much the Chinese version of Candlemas, where the theme is light. So light some lanterns and candles or lamps and make that call to your nanna. 

On a completly different note, because this lil witch has been talking to nanna, he got a little folk spell. My nanna is of Chinese descent, and growing up she would tell me a lot of folklore and folk practices (and me being a lil shit never paid attention). I remembered one that she mentioned which is a domination type of thing against your enemies, specifically your hidden enemies/people who you suspect is your enemy but don’t got any proof. 

All you do is somehow obtain a physical object of the person which bears their name. Failing that, simply get a piece of paper and cut it into a rough shape of a person and write their name on it. Then you would get a sharp object (like a letter opener) and start scratching across their name with it, but not tearing the paper. Then you would put it on the floor, grab your shoe and start smacking it over and over while saying something like “go away, fuck off, leave my life, bother me no more” etc. I guess this is also the step where you can add in your own ill wishes towards the enemy, feel free to cuss them out, yell at it, and really go for it. You will then burn it in the incense burner of your home altar (if paper), or hide it somewhere on your enemy’s property. 

I don’t know if this is just my nanna’s family tradition or is it an actual thing done in Chinese folk traditions. I wonder if there are similar practices like this in other folk traditions, because I have yet to come across something similar.

    hearing his name, he looks up, sees a man who is both familiar and unfamiliar, someone from a dream that would come back to haunt him time and time again. he seals his lips tight, tearing his eyes away from the stranger as he stares at the ground. uncle and lan huan had come by to also COAX HIM BACK to the dormitories, but lan zhan had refused to move. now this stranger came by expecting him to move from the spot as well?

How we meet in the AU -

Basically i’m watering the plants around the shop that are there, Among the things in this shop, basically plants, herbs, incense, incense burners etc. but still have to take care of the plants, due to not having much traffic i’m used to playing my own music and dancing + singing around the shop while i do my work, So im normally in my own little world, i put a sign out in the front window, “Help wanted”, as i was singing and minding my own buissness while watering the plants and kinda dancing around he walks down the sidewalk and stops for a minute and looks in, slightly smiling he then looked down and noticed help was needed and walked in and made sure the door shut quietly as their is a bell at the top of it, he stood there and just watched for a bit before he spoke up “Eyyy– Nice singin’ there dollface–” i instantly jumped and stopped singing as i turned around after setting the watering can on the counter “How long have you been there….?” he soon looked down at his phone and put it back into his pocket after pulling it out “Mmm…’bout fiwve minutes.” “WHY DIDNT YOU SAY ANYTHING?!” “YOU VWERE HAVWIN FUN ALRIGHT!!” i stepped back and slightly furrowed my brow at him for a moment before straightening out and trying to shake off the embarrassment as i turned off the music and spoke up “So how may i help you” “I’m lookin for a job”

How the relationship starts (and then sum) -

He was already in one when he started working for me…and as time goes on and since we are spending a lot of time together, thats the only reason i knew why he was in a relationship, i started to notice i actually had feelings for him and tried to slightly keep my distance away from him while working with him unless i needed to talk to him cause it wasn’t my place to be and that spot as a partner was taken. i could tell he was getting frustrated as i used to talk to him from across the store as well while we were working but that had stopped a lil bit suddenly as i noticed i had feelings for him, while trying to put up some candles on a tall shelf even on a step ladder i wasnt tall enough he came up and picked me up so i was higher and i froze for a minute and heard him speak “Just put the candles up.” doing so i did it quickly and put them where i wanted them to be and he set me down i jumped down off the step ladder and went to walk away quickly but he’s taller than me..and has longer legs as he picked me up again and sat me down on the counter and put his arms on either side of me looking me dead in the eye “Vwhat evwer problem you’wve got wvith me you need to ice it right nowv and tell me wvhats vwrong.” i couldn’t help but look away as i infact enjoyed when he got demanding when he was angry or ticked about something as i had seen it before while he was stocking shelves and i told him it needed to be sorted a certain way and i told him he had to do it again. but he lifted his hand up and put it on my chin and turned my face back and held it there “Tell me.”

So sorta stuck in the situation and i knew it wouldn’t work to tell him ‘i’m fine its nothing’ cause it was very clear it was something was up, taking a deep breath and i lift my hand up and place it on his arm and slowly push it away as i lift my head out of his grasp and look at him for a minute before speaking up “I like you…a lot. and not in a friend way. and its unprofessional and wrong on many levels for me to like you since 1, you work for me, and 2, you have a person you go home to every day. so i’m trying to keep my distance so i’m not stepping on peoples toes. i wouldn’t want that done to me so why should i do it to someone else.” i finished speaking as he stood there and slightly loosened up and looked at me a bit surprised as i think be thought i started to have sour feelings for him. i pull my legs up and turn around jumping down on the opposite side of the counter as i’d pick up some of the crystals and walk to the shelves and casing for them so i can put them away and put some in stock as he stood there for a good 10 minutes as i continued to work and leaned against one of the cases and spoke up snapping him out of what ever trance he was in.

“You gonna be okay…? I understand if you don’t want to work here anymore. the air is kinda thick with an awkward energy right now so i understand not-” “I’m staying.” as i stood there a bit confused as i figured that would be something to make him quit and i cleared my throat and tilted my head to the side and spoke up with that confused hint in my tone “ excuse me?…” “I’m staying… and don’t think that i’m upset about your feelings by the vway dollface…it just confirms mine–” “What…?” “Vwe share feelings, Faith…”

And with that i stood there surprised as all hell, looking down at the glass casing as i tried to make sure i heard him right he pulled out his phone and checked the time before looking back up and walking towards the casing i was leaning on and kneeled down so he was in my line of vision “And i don’t have anyone to go home to, he left a few days ago… maybe a bit longer.” “ O h…uhm… well then…” Unsure of what to say i just stammered over my words for a bit and tried to gather myself once more as he stood up and kissed the top of my head “Vwe’ll talk more about it after closing time alright?”

Plot idea: Loki with a therapy dog.

At the start of Loki’s time with the Avengers, people notice how the demigod snaps all of a sudden and hides. In the end, Loki hides in the closet more frequently than his Stark Tower apartment. He ends up looking so vulnerable to the Avengers that they start looking for solutions. Steve, being able to recognize Shell Shock, identifies what’s happening before the doctors do.

Tony ups the security system and builds a Code Loki in Jarvis that opens up a series of panic rooms so Loki can hide in those instead of closets. When he shows it off at a safety meeting, he shrugs it off as just preparing for a security breach but the Avengers know it’s a present for Loki.

Natasha and Bruce convince Loki to try meditating and yoga. At first, Natasha has to threaten Loki to get him to keep his eyes closed, but eventually, Loki gets comfortable enough that he nicks a yoga mat from the workout room. Jarvis discreetly lets the pair know that Loki set up a corner of his apartment for meditation and yoga.

When Darcy finds out, she gets him an incense burner and a bunch of stuff for aromatherapy. She finds out how frequently he uses the kit because Loki keeps asking for lavender refills. She ends up stocking up on the bottles of lavender so Loki never has to wait for stuff to arrive in the mail.

Whenever Loki does hide, Steve shows up and just sits with him. He doesn’t talk most of the time, he just sits and makes Loki know he’s not alone. Sometimes Clint joins in, but most of the time he’ll just bring comfort foods to wherever Loki is hiding if the god misses out on a meal.

But Thor, with Clint’s help, comes up with the best option: a therapy “dog.” Thor brings back an intelligent wolf cub native to Asgard to Earth. Clint, via his family, get it house trained and through obedience class with flying colors. Thor then gives the cub to Loki and Loki names the lil guy Fen.

Sometimes while working in the lab, the Fen bats Loki’s leg when he senses his charge is getting stressed out too much then crawl onto Loki’s lap. Loki will cuddle the cub while reading and revising reports for Jane. Sometimes, Loki holds Fen while writing on a whiteboard or tinkering.

At work parties, Fen gets his own invite and Darcy gets him milk whenever she’s out getting coffee orders. Jane even finds a sciency-looking collar for Fen to wear. Other scientists designate a spot in the lab for Fen to have a dog bed and spoil the wolf daily with treats or toys. Everyone is thankful when all Fen wants to do with his toys is cuddle them. After a couple of months, everyone realizes the wolf can read and Tony designs a computer for Fen where he can read every book ever published when the wolf has downtime.

At press conferences, when asked about Fen, everyone says the wolf is a teammate and an honorary mascot. That way, when Loki is out and about with Fen, the public doesn’t deny the pair entry at any establishment because they feel honored to have two Avengers visiting their business. Tony even builds a fancy collar for Fen to ensure everyone knows the wolf is an Avenger.

How old are you? — 16. Whoa, shocking, right?

What do you go by? — Free, or Eph. I’m cool with either one.

How long have you been practising witchcraft? — I started practising witchcraft in February 2017, so a little under one year. However, I’ve been a strong believer of the Pagan Paths for a little while longer; as I’ve been following Norse Paganism since March 2016, but I’ve only recently started witchcraft. c:

What type of witchcraft do you specialise in? — Hmm, I’d probably say Hedge Witchcraft & Divination; as my path was built up onto the Hedge after I kept experiencing over-exposure to the other side, and I wanted to learn how to keep myself from being scared upon waking up & seeing the dead in my room. And divination, I’ve always been the sort to experience very specific Deja vu whilst asleep or lost in thought; but I never remembered it until doing the act, as any sorta typical Deja vu moment would do, until I had a very specific thought about one of my best friends—and low & behold, she experienced the thought detail for detail only a week or two later. So! Instead of freaking out alone, I took it upon myself to learn the beautiful art of divination; specifically dream & tarot. c:

What aspect of witchcraft are you best at? — Well, as stated above; I have an uncanny amount of luck with Hedge Witchcraft & Divination. However, I’ve noticed that I’m specifically fortunate with blessings; sigils; and warding magick. Crystals and anything to do with accent herbs or plants, too. I dunno, honestly.

What is a big goal you are working towards/have already achieved? — Hmm, I guess my big goal is to learn as much about witchcraft and the different paths that I can; for personal benefit, and to help teach others about the craft. And I’m not being specific about new/baby witchlings out there; I want to be able to express knowledge to those who are a little bit sceptical, or towards those who downright hate on witchcraft & practitioners, due to the old stories of Salem. Not that I believe that my word alone will change their frightened minds, but still! I’d love to learn all about witchcraft, because I find it interesting; and want to. c:

Who do you worship? If you worship anyone at all? — Well, I follow Norse & Celtic Paganism; though I do happen to follow Norse Paganism, predominantly, and I do believe in each & every single God/Goddess/Other of both religions. However, I tend to sit beneath Loki’s Hearth; and focus & follow on his teaching.

What’s your aesthetic? — Nature; trees, forest wildlife, owls, mountains, lakes. Although I’m a big fan of cemeteries & graveyards, too! I love reblogging scenes from cemeteries, or of singular graves in a beautiful scenery, or something! :3

What are some of your favourite smells? — Hmm...I really love the smell of firewood being burnt; or coal fires; or log burners. It just has one of those smells to it that makes me feel all happy & cosy, and I love passing by fields where the farmers are burning wood, or houses where someone has a fire going. Like yas.

Do you collect anything? — Jars, books, crystals, jewellery, owl ornaments, and plants. Although! I’ve recently started working on building a bone collection, for different practises that I have yet to dabble with directly, because...bones! c:

What are your favourite tools of witchcraft? — Crystals, tarot cards, sigils, and herbs. Sea salt mixed with some water is also a favourite, and incense! c: 

What’s a non-witchcraft pet peeve of yours? — Noisy eaters, or people moving my shit two inches to the side. Like, you’re ruining my aesthetic, stop it. Or, people who are just loud for no fucking reason; which makes it difficult to live in a bungalow with my mother...because she does all of these things. -_-

What’s a witchcraft pet peeve? — Well, I know I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this one: but I really hate the witches who try to make white witches feel like scum, in comparison to POC witches. I’m not talking about the witches who try to give everyone a fair chance to be recognised; and that book document going about where only POC witches are allowed to add their spells? I think that’s gr8. However, there’re certain witches on this site who behave as though white witches should be throwing down their hats, and proclaiming they’re bad people; specifically because of their skin tone—not because of anything they have very specific control over, like an argument that took a turn b/c they chose to let it. :/

Like, I’m sorry to all those tumblr witches who think that white people should be treated like scum, because our ancestors (and present assholes) treated POC like scum; but I don’t agree with you. And I’m not a straight white cis girl who is racist & privileged, so the fuck outta here with those anon hate comments; I’m fully for #BlackLivesMatter & the support for POC that has been rocketing recently, but I just don’t agree with the treatment that y’all are giving white folk. I mean, I’ve seen literal posts where witches are demanding that their followers don’t buy from small businesses (such as those on Etsy, etc.) if they’re run by white people, because “POC are more important.” Like sure, Barbara; but deliberately attempting to ruin people’s passions? That’s not a way to help the movement for equality go forwards; it’s discriminative in it’s own way, ya walnut.

Sorry, I went off on a rant. xD But might as well be detailed, so that I have something to reference, when all of the haters come & claim that I was shoving my opinion down their throats. I hope I was respectful as possible with my opinion, bc I honestly know that a lot of witches I follow are cool beans about white people & such; or at least don’t flat out try to run people outta business, and I really just wanted to state my opinion that my biggest pet peeves are the witches who try to ruin lives and slap “POC” onto it to make it seem justified. c:

Good advice not relating to witchcraft that you can give? — Okay, so there’s this Welsh folktale that I’ve been told since I was a little girl; called Gelert. It’s a very fascinating story, and I would recommend anyone to go read it, tbh. Anyway, it’s a story about this loyal dog to the Prince Llewellyn; who protects the Prince’s baby from a wolf that has been terrorising the countryside for the past couple of months, whilst his beloved owner is out hunting for the same creature. Llewellyn returns; and sees the room of his baby destroyed, blood on the blanket that had been in the crib, the baby missing—and Gelert laying on the floor, soaked with blood. Immediately, Llewellyn loses his shit & decapitates Gelert, without taking a moment to look around; and then...he hears his baby crying. He rounds the side of the tipped over crib, and finds his kid; and the body of a wolf mangled to pieces, and Llewellyn realises his mistake of decapitating Gelert, but now it’s too late, and his mistakes haunt him for the rest of his days. He buried his most trustworthy companion, and placed a stone on his grave, and blah blah.

Anyway, my advice is to keep a level head in situations that you might find emotionally distressful. Don’t act on your first emotion, because you might end up causing more hurt than relief. Look at the situation; look at every possible angle, and once you’ve done that, make a decision that will benefit everyone. c:

Do you have any good advice pertaining to witchcraft that you can give?— Not really. The only advice I can hand is to question everything; never give up on researching things, even if you stumble across a blog that seems to be legit AF with their fancy spells & recipes, always double check; always triple check; check until you’re 100% certain that the magic you’re thinking of performing isn’t harmful towards you or your surroundings. Also, don’t allow others to declare to you what makes a real witch, or any of that shit; we’re all individuals—so own it.

Do you have a familiar? — Yes, I do! n w n My deceased cat was my beloved familiar when he was alive, and it would seem that he’s not straying too far into the afterlife, as he is often with me in both energies & spirit; I’ve bumped into him on the other side, too. He’s such a brilliant cat, and I’m so blessed to have him as my familiar; he’s always there for me, and offers me guidance & protection. c:

Altar? — Not yet! Since I recently moved from my old house, I had to take down the starts of my altar back there, and I haven’t had time to start building it up. ; - ; However, I’m planning to start building it up over the Christmas break, because I feel unsettled without a visible representation of my worship in my bedroom. :c
