look, i know next to nothing about baldur’s gate 3 besides what my friends have told me and the fact that it’s essentially dungeons and dragons: the video game. i can’t play it even if i wanted to because i don’t own a computer that can run it, so i’ll probably never experience the whole thing for myself

that being said, i am making it a point to learn everything i can about Astarion. i mean just… look at him. listen to him. how can you NOT love him? he has so many layers and i just—i fucking love him

I still sometimes can't get over the fact that Neil voiced both Karl and Astarion. like, Astarion I'm used to. Kamski I'm also used to. but then I remember the dude that played Astarion played Heisenberg and I mentally go 🤯👏. what an actor Neil is.

I highly recommend watching Neil Newbon's streams of himself playing Baldur's Gate 3. His enthusiasm and delight in the game is so infectious (him doing a little chair wiggle and shouting "fuck yes i love this game" during the first cinematic cutscene - i love), it reminds me that it's a game to have fun in and he's so supportive of the rest of his cast and crew that it adds even more dimension to a playthrough.

And also, like, his voice. ofc.

Loving how after four(?) years of playing Astarion Neil Newbon has hit that point where he can no longer do an interview without slipping into character at least twice

So Comicon was so chaotic! 😂 I literally only managed to get Neil's autograph because the lines got all messed up due to organising issues. I was hoping to get Jens but the signal was terrible so my contactless didn't work and I had to book it to get cash so I missed my chance. Oh well, all the more reason to go to the next one! For Neil I was in line for a good few hours. Then they cut the line off and told everyone to leave! Some people had been waiting all day and had priority passes and were super upset. Apparently someone went to Neil directly and he offered to stay past closing to get to everyone which he 100% had no obligation to do. When I did get to see him I was so nervous I was shaking purely out of social anxiety and he took the time out of his day to reassure me and was extremely professional about everything. I gave him my fan art in an envelope and told him it's fine to open it in private as everything seemed really chaotic to me and I was one of the last people. He even gave me a hug which was super sweet. He took the time to individually speak to each person, shaking their hands and talking to them even though he was well past work time. I respect him even more as a professional than I did before.

And absolutely no hate to the con staff, they were just doing as management asked and it must have been a rotten job being the person who had to send people home after they waited for hours.

I think they just booked way to many guests with packed schedules so the sighning/photos/pannels are really short windows to try and fit people in. and only had pay on the day, so there was no cap on the amount of people queuing.

I did however make friends in line and we formed a coven so that was cool 😂😂 I was so exhausted I slept till past dinner today
