My Year End C-drama Review (2023)

Last year, I did two Cdrama Wrapped posts for each half of the year. This year, I watched so much stuff right away I got arrogant and was about to do a January-February summary. And then life happened and handed me my entire ass, so here we are right back on the ground zero.

Well, not exactly. I watched lots of dramas I liked this year and would like to give nods to as many as possible, and before I start forgetting details I thought I better go ahead with the entrees that I'm sure of the answers.

My initial Cdrama reviews were inspired by anniedelavoye's this post 2 years ago, I've extrapolated a lot from there but some entrees remain same.

Part 2

1. First drama I finished in 2023

Hi Venus. Modern workplace romcom isn't my go-to-genre, least of all if the ML is a CEO. If not for the unusual-for-the-genre setup of initial few eps and the strong recommendations of my friends, I might not have pressed play at all. And I'm so glad I did because it turned out to be one of the most refreshing takes of the genre, it was funny, the pacing nor the dialogues were ever draggy, the characters were intelligent and pleasant, and down to earth. It never leaned to the tropes of helpless/badass FL or tsundere/beta ML extremes, there was no dramatic villain arcs, down to the supporting characters everyone were so reasonable and mature and simply had the nicest time ever together. Now I put it like that, it sounds boring but trust me, it wasn't. Do give it a try. Your time won't be wasted.

2. An actor who took my breath away

Jing Boran as Lan Jue/Peizhi from The League of Nobleman

I mean

Look at him. Instant KO.

I remember watching this scene (and every scene that followed after, especially when he had his hair down) and being in disbelief about how he's real. He's literally glowing out the screen! His performance as a model scholarly minister, the way he conducted his glance, his steps, his speech and temperament were nothing but enchanting and... look, I can write poetry about him for ages lol.

And then I watched every single work I could find of him and ended up even more in love, because his resume was nothing but diverse. A measured scholar, a bubbling-out-of-his-skin social butterfly, a ballerina in a tutu, a man pregnant with the cutest radish monster ever, there's nothing he cannot play. I'm definitely going to check out every single work of him that'll be coming out in the future as well. Even if the plot fails, his character will surely be interesting.

(Also, I was FINALLY lured into DMBJ fandom thanks to going down his profile as well, and now I'm here to stay🤭)

3. Most relatable character

Bai Moxi from Gone With the Rain

She was street-smart and sassy, but never foolhardy. She wasn't a damsel nor was overly clever. She had her moments of daydreaming, but she knew what was and wasn't reasonable. She had a high sense of self-worth, she also knew when to make herself scarce. Despite being the most outgoing and energetic personality in the room, she didn't make everything to be about herself. In fact, she couldn't have been happier to be a background supporting character of the story, quietly minding her own business in her corner. In summary, she just felt very real, and exactly like how I love my FLs. Every decision she took felt like what I'd also have done in her situation. (Btw I hope noone messages me about loving Moxi but hating her sister because I don't. I think her character also made a lot of sense based on her circumstances even though she was bit more difficult to love than Moxi.)

Most of all, she was played to a tee by Zhang Nan, the young actress was allowed to shine to her true potential in this role, as she used to be quite stereotyped in either bubbly or petty mean girl roles. The drama horribly fell apart in the latter quarter (I'd like to pretend it all ended before that Great Seperation Scene), but I'm going to remember her charaacter for a long time to come.

4. Most inspiring character

Li Lianhua from Mysterious Lotus Casebook

The tumblr tag for MLC is already filled with Grade A+ poetry, prose and analysis dedicated to him and I'm not capable of wording it any better than them. All I can say is he really touched a vulnerable corner of my heart, and gave it strength. He's just so very admirable and represents all I ever want to be, and his entire character design and all its metaphors and philosophy especially resonate with me as a Buddhist. Like Cheng Yi said at the end of MLC concert, "At the end of the day, if you have a lotus flower in your heart that you can call your own, that's what matters."

5. Best Couple of the Year

Lu Zhaoxi and Ye Shilan (Zeng Shunxi and Liang Jie) in Hi Venus, Zhao Jian and Yuan Zhongxin (Zhou Yutong and Zhang Xincheng) in Young Blood 2

Here are two couples who were each others' equal match in every big, small and miscellaneous ways possible. Where their roles in their partnership did not have anything to do with society-determined gender or power dynamics, not about conforming to them nor about beating them. Everything about their relationships simply had to do with what they meant to each other their admiration, respect and love towards the other person, from beginning to end. In Hi Venus, it was never uncomfortable to watch Shilan being Zhaoxi's subordinate, for he always treated her like any good superior should in any healthy professional relationship. In Young Blood 2, Zhongxin would fully trust Zhao Jian with everyone else's and his own life, not because his head was in wishful romantic clouds but because he was 100% confident in her capabilities and would never disrespect her with "girls should be protected, you stay back and let me take the sword for you" nonsense.

I may check out like 50 dramas per year and may never come by such Het pairing dynamics in some years, yknow? I do not hate on any other kind of dynamic (plus I'd have next to nothing to watch in that case lol) but, THIS... this is so rare -for me to not be icked out by not even a single second of a fictional het couple's screentime lol- hence the gushing! (Though I know I'm not doing the greatest job of phrasing what I feel😆).

Following that note, though not a couple, honorable mentions to Chufeng (Bi Wenjun) and Robin (Zhu Zhengting) from Silence of the Monster who took Sui Yi (Sun Yihan) into their home not because they thought it'd be chivalrous to help a girl, but because it's the nice thing to do as a fellow human. For continuing onto integrating her into their world with ease and enthusiasm not because any of them had feelings for her but because they simply found her a good friend to hang out with.

Suffice to say I DIG ANY relationship where gender does not come into play, like, at all (or barely, if you must).

6. Best harem of the year

Orchid and Lotus harems (from League of Nobleman and Mysterious Lotus Casebook)

(Only sharing the pics of Orchid Harem because it was from the earlier quarter of this year, whereas pics of Lotus Harem will be everywhere in the Cdrama scene for quite a while to come lol)

The support group of devout puppies, zhijis, friends-with-benefits and all sorts of other polycule postions, all centered around one precious babygirl enigma of a man is just my jam, and I love it when it happens because it brings forth the fandom's most unhinged high-art. 😌😌😌

7. Best ensemble of the year

Young Blood 2, I Am Nobody

For me a perfect ensemble is where the supporting characters are just or almost nearly as engaging and thoroughly written as the main leads, you'd love every second spent on any character just as much as you love that of any other. The ultimate relaxing experience where your brain doesn't have to pick favorites and you don't have to speed watch or fast forward or be antsy about who's going to appear next because you know it's gonna be enjoyable no matter whom.

And this year, it's Young Blood 2- with its Class 7 members who were all so different but all so compelling and equally contributing to the plot, complimented by the Class 8 and the unnervingly captivating villains.

And I Am Nobody- with its extensive spread of young and old heroes/antiheroes alike, all with dramatic backstories and individual charisma that were not second to another.

8. Favorite posters/promos of the year

Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Young Blood 2, Sunshine By My Side

Really liked what MLC did with positioning the characters on various spots of the titular Lianhua Lou, the wind-sway choices for the wisps of hair and the skirts... idk the exact angles of it all were just right for each character and their vibes and appealed to me a lot.

The blending-into-painting style poster of Young Blood was so pretty too, plus these Suoyi raincoat posters.

The comic strip posters for Sunshine were also super cute, unique and perfect for the drama's themes.

9. Best opening credit sequence

Love You Seven Times

The drama itself was a hot mess but the opening sequence was entirely worthy of being a parallelish-universe story to Love Between Fairy and Devil without a debate. IF ONLY they put the same effort to the story itself.

10. Favorite Prop/Set designs

A League of Nobleman- Lan Jue's Tea Pavilion, Mysterious Lotus Casebook- Lotus House

I wish I could install a fixture in my home where me and my imaginary homies can chat over tea while being seductively separated by an active stream of freshwater, while my not so elegant period-style caravan is waiting outside in the yard for more cozily cramped get-together times. 🤧

11. Favorite lighting/color grading of the year

The Forbidden Flower, My Journey to You

The former, a kaleidoscopic explosion of colors, a celebration of fleeting life, youth, summer and nostalgia. It was a daring drama on so many fronts and nailed each of them as well, and the use of colors represented its bold soul perfectly.

The latter, a marvelous combination of mountains shrouded by mist, dark-toned wood pavilions and fur-lined robes, pale, dusty makeup with rosy lips and plump cheeks; all combined together on screen to bring a palpable ambience of a secluded glamorous hideout in a dystopian world and its ethereal residents. Seriously, how I especially loved to stare at the bride candidates in their white getups, it was like the light bounced off of the fabric to shine on their faces even more, and the skin and hair looked non-oily and baby soft. And it didn't feel over the top but convincing because the camerawork and editing conjured a believable image of an upcountry with dense and dewy forests, waterfalls and rivers, there's no sun, no heat no sweat, only cold air and pregnant humidity. OF COURSE you are going to look like THAT.

12. A drama that taught me new things

Hi Producer

The infuriating thing about Yu Zheng's show-off genre of costume dramas is that the story may be a hit-or-miss, the "historical facts" provided in them may need to be taken with a grain of salt, but they almost always provide me with great entry points to do my own research 🥲. Most niche facts that take me by surprise and things I'd never have thought to look up on my own are randomly sprinkled all over the place and I run around like a headless chicken trying to collect them all.

13. Most exhilarating drama/scene

Three-Body

That scene in ep 5. The entire buildup to it and the resolution. The phenomenal acting bringing forth the exact emotion and exact tension required. The moment you start to understand at least a sliver of why exactly all the characters are making this much of a fuss about what's happening to them.

I cannot spoil, not even a bit. You'd have to see for yourself.

I Am Nobody

(lol Three Body and I Am Nobody. I swear that was an unintentional coincidence!)

The great V-match between certain two characters, I can't elaborate. (See the thing about exhilarating scenes is that you have to see it for yourself what's the big deal is about lol.) I really liked how both their biggest vulnerabilities and yearnings were pulled out mercilessly in public, how they both fought themselves through each other before actualizing the philosophy of what it was all about. It was beautiful to watch visually as well.

14. A drama location I'd love to visit

Yunnan province

I've seen glimpses of the prosperous and both naturally and culturally diverse Yunnan province through Bite of China Documentaries and Dianxi Xiaoge's vlogs, the beautiful bucolic backdrop of Meet Yourself only heightened the wish to experience it all in person.

15. A drama that was a pleasant surprise

I Am Nobody

Perfect casting job, earnest effort from everyone involved to bring out the 2D to live action in the bestest way possible, it was like a dream come true to see a genre that was previously limited into written media like comics and fanfics (modern cultivation) as a drama even if it meant labelling all the cultivators as aliens lol

It had a lil bit of a flavor of western coming-of-age/"teen gets powers and goes on an adventure in search of their origins" stories, a bit of Japanese anime presenting style and the chaotic-gaggle-of-youth-and-veterans-with-different-extreme-powers genre vibe. And then they incorporated Chinese wuxia philosophy into it and made it their own thing. I hope to see more of this in future, and definitely a season 2!

16. An old drama I watched in 2023

Shaolin Wendao (2017)

This is one of the best period dramas I have ever seen, but I don't recommend it unless you have a strong tolerance for angst. Like, worse than Royal Nirvana and Heroes (2022) level of angst.

HOWEVER, unlike those two, Shaolin Wendao will leave you feeling rewarded for your suffering. This drama achieved a number of things that very few other have managed to do, especially for a story with such a heavy and dark premise.

The characters remained true to their selves from beginning to the end. They grew up in various ways, at the same time remained consistent. The story made sure to make all the characters aware of their individual faults and address them.

The characters were put through immense wringer but also provided viewer with the resolution they deserved. It was SO exhilarating at times, I cried. It felt like a detox, sometimes.

They prioritized telling a realistic story about the changing nature of humans. The ending was blissful but not in the idolized, wrapped-in-a-bow-tie way one would imagine. They wanted to tell a story about tribulations and letting go, and did exactly that.

It will ignite the pain but will also make sure to thoroughly quench it. So there's that.

Oh and also, respect to all the actors. All those characters were so layered and had some quite difficult scenes. I do not understand how Guo Xiaoting didn't get any good roles matching of her caliber for years after this. She was magnificent.

Morganatic Idol Characters (My opinion!)

XENO

The more I look at him, the more I think he's beautiful. I really love the colours on him. I don't know if I would like his personality though...he is said to be arrogant, so I hope he is arrogant in a funny way like Yoritomo and not an arrogant silent type which I don't really enjoy. I generally don't enjoy silent types you only gives answer through stares. But looks-wise he's at top 3.

IVY

He's the big brother character of this game. Nothing more to say.

JACE

I won't sugar coat it. I don't like this guy. He looks nice (design-wise), but his personality type is girls. Even his bio tells that he had hook-ups with girls before his debut. That's not a bad thing, I just hope he doesn't end up like a cringy flirt who stares at the MC from head to toe like....you know what I mean, right? He's the flirty male lead, but I hope they give him a personality outside that like they did for Arthur and Sueharu.

FINN

There always needs to be body builder in the cast, same as there needs to be a flirty male character. I don't really care about him that much....but I'll acknowledge his presence...I guess. I'm not that into large men with ripped body (except for Benkei and Morinaga...and Ibuki and Kurama, the 4 Heavenly Brawny Kings!)

HUGH

You my dear sir, you're an angel! Hugh has to be my fav character because I'm so attracted to his beauty. From his bio, he looks to be like Ieyasu, very silent and always to himself, but he is also expressionless like Yoshitsune. He doesn't sound like a tsundere, but....IDK, I really like him! I did say that I don't like characters who reply with only stares, but he does feel warm like Yoshitsune.

MIU

This guy looks to be one of those characters who looks very friendly from outside, but inside is full of shit! Full of madness! Crazy madness. That's all I can say about him. I'm kinda interested.

HITAKI

Looks like a prince but inside is full of shit. I can feel Alphonse when he talks (ofc they both have the same va). He is one of those prince characters who will smile like this (⌒‿⌒) infront of his fans but when he's with MC, he is gonna tie her up, gag her and spank her 50 times for speaking to other men. I like him and he is at top 4 for now just for his looks.

NAGI

He's the maknae of the 2nd group. He looks to be the purest and innocent soul out the this crazy pool of male leads. I think I'll enjoy his presence.

Sakura Eito (I still have doubts about his name)

This guy......Hohoho...if you know me, I like my blonde hair blue eyes male leads. So you know this guy is gonna be my fav (unless his personality is boring) but dude...who cares about the male leads, when their producer and President of their company looks like this...But Hugh is still my fav. You are my 2nd fav.

MC - Rina Kawanaga

I have nothing to say about her design. Looks like a generic MC design so I hope her personality is interesting. Cybird how about hiring me just to create interesting looking MC. I have so many ideas for MCs for each ikemen games! It's not that difficult to create MCs with different personalities! What do you say? How about I create some fun MCs for you!? You don't have to pay me!!

Now these are just my initial impressions and will likely change once I start playing the game! So there is no need to be offended!

Lilith wasted no time. You gotta wonder if she loves Fixing RWBY just as much as the rest of us. She's just a tsundere for Raymond! We all know that she's a lying piece of living garbage but let's see what kind of laughs she has for us this time.

"Random" PTSD. Because as we all know, PTSD isn't triggered by things that can be tangentially related to the thing that we have issues with in question. So flashes of red going into a dark tunnel reminding her of Adam's red and the dark cafeteria of Beacon. Nah. Not similar. The episode was totally out of nowhere.

lmao WOW she's pressed. Over basically nothing, too. What is the issue with Blake wanting to talk about what's bothering her? What's wrong with former classmates wondering what's eating at her? Is it because they're men and you don't like those things? Is that it? Like seriously what an odd thing to have a freak out over. How dare men exist and do things.

You can tell Lilith doesn't pay attention because they don't barge in to talk about how totally better people they are. They come into the room to talk to everyone and finds only Blake there and are surprised, because they never knew she was a faunus.

Victimized. That, Lilith, is called past tense. I know you haven't noticed, but it's called character growth. Cardin and Velvet worked past their differences.

Plus, they're not love interests. Yet. Raymond is still on the fence about it because it's not important to the story. But he's blushing because it's a girly thing to have on his weapon and he's a burly manly man, so being teased about it makes him embarrassed. But no, it can only be because he's in love with Velvet. I forgot. Blushing doesn't exist as a psychological involuntary response triggered by emotional stress associated with passion, embarrassment, shyness, fear, or anger. No. It can only be from romantic stimulation. Shoujo anime taught us that.

Why is the main villain of the arc appearing in the arc?!

I already explained why this is stupid, but I wouldn't put it past liars to deliberately ignore it or twist my words no matter what I say. So there's barely use explaining anything beyond what I already said. After all, only a moron would genuinely take me saying 'I don't believe you could use your sexuality as an excuse to not know how flirting among this sex works because you're not that dumb' and skew it as queerphobic and me calling Lilith an idiot. Then again, tumblrites were never known for their intelligence. There's a reason I also called out rwde for also having their own Liliths among them, after all.

What? You mean in a series where the main purpose is to stay as close to the original show as possible where it doesn't need to be changed doesn't change things that doesn't need to be changed... doesn't fix shit that doesn't need changing? What a fucking concept.

It's almost like this series is a reconstructive exercise to show how with only a few little tweaks, RWBY could be great and doesn't require a big overhaul to make it good for those who have issues with it or something. That Raymond thinks the show is mostly fine, it just failed in a few things in terms of execution, worldbuilding and other fundamental things and was primarily fine and not completely broken. Wow. You can tell when someone fundamentally doesn't understand something when...

You know it's really funny because we're currently arguing with a guy over the rewrite, because he also thinks it's subpar. Which is fine, but he has his head up his ass to smell his own farts trying to teach Raymond (and subsequently ALL of Hollywood) how to properly write fiction and that he's going to REVOLUTIONIZE the industry. Truly, this guy is what these people claim Raymond is: arrogant, and delusional about his own abilities. Anyway, based on what I've seen his spelling error-riddled script basically makes the girls into murderous psychopaths who will throw everyone else, even their teammates, under the bus to save their own skin and he calls that character development. Truly we live in a clown world.

He might need to be looked at, too, but as per agreement, only Raymond is allowed to look at his script so far. Because he seriously thinks his ideas are so good that people would want to steal from him.

Who are Raymond's pet characters who drove the plot forward?

Roman didn't do shit this episode except hide underneath a table, so that's not true.

Cardin got two scenes where he nudged Blake forward. It's not like he went out and did the work and repaired her relationship with Yang or anything, and then after that he and Russell mostly did the same thing Dee and Dudley did. So unless you're saying D&D were integral to canon and overshadowed the girls, I'd also say that's not true.

Adam? For once she tells the truth. The villain causes stuff to happen. Like in the majority of fiction. Villains usually drive the plot, yes, congratulations, you figured it out. Have a cookie.

Nora and Ren saved Roman. Nora goes and fights with Team RWBY on the roof. Ruby goes and retrieves the weapons. RWBYN take centre stage in the train car scene. Ruby cuts the train car.

But for as much as she loves screaming about how Raymond is misogynistic for this, that and the other, Lilith never really talks about the girls of Fixing in relation unless degrading them, calling them useless, or saying they only exist to be love interests for men. She has some major projection going on.

I also enjoy singing (I have a pretty deep voice) and dancing. sports don't really interest me, but I do walk at least 3-4 miles at least 4 times a day, and sometimes I use dumbells.

Cupid Parasite Review Allan & Ryuki

First Impression: First of all I saw him being the type to be a flirt but looked pretty hot so did pull me in a bit. All the way up until he started talking bout he only was attracted to a woman if she was in love with another man and that made me sick. That was just the initial thought before I knew his story and omg this man broke me. I cried so much through his route. He has so much love and so much passion to give its not even funny. He got the shit end of the deal like his other half of his soul was ripped away from him to be a god leaving him cast out of heaven from being a angel. He spends his life trying to make cupid human so that she doesn't disappear one day because as a god she is to do so after 400 years and she was coming up on that.

When he couldn't stay away from her and she fell in love with him he couldn't hold back and when he did give into her it put in motion of what weakened her and almost killed her. It did kill her but he took her soul first so he could put it back in a human body to keep her alive. He did so and watched over her for the next 20 years from afar to protect her from other demons. He eventually has to make himself known due to the demons almost drowning her and he saves her. She feels the connection without even knowing him and she can't stay away.

It starts bringing her memories back that starts to turn her back into a god. She ends up finding out his story about them being angels and that the gods were just using her he even tries to fight Jupiter when he comes down to take her back. However him as a demon was no match for a god however he still tries to fight and almost ends up dying fighting for her. He pushes to try to get to the heavens to be with her one last time and because he isn't allowed there he falls with her catching him because she has chose to fall from the heavens and become a demon with him. They share an embrace, tears and a kiss that turns her but saves her life at the same time.

Not to mention to fill in the fact that Allan only went after women that were in love wasn't his choice it was because he was a incubus demon that had to feed on dreams of women in love. He actually never slept with any of them he was a virgin til her he only put them to sleep fed off them and then let them go. He is so passionate when he kisses Lynette the first time omg I think even I could feel his passion. First Impression: This mans profile and looks captured my heart until he opened his mouth about he needs beautiful people and he just came off as a arrogant asshole. I had a hard time listening to his bullshit as he went on about stuff. However as you get to know him on his own route you find he sees things the way he does due to his family especially his grandmother is so strict. He is very passionate about clothes design but his grandmother is the one who puts all the looks and beauty in his head. Although he never loses all of it because its ingrained into him he doesn't always see things like that. When he realizes his feelings are changing he gets flustered and scared honestly it looks so cute on him. He is 19 falling in love for the first time and he has no idea what this feeling his.

He had never even kissed a girl before but boy when he kisses the first time there is so much dominance and possessiveness all because he overhears Gill confessing his love and he freaks out begging not to leave him for Gill. The possessiveness is super sexy and I was surprised to see it in him he really is the tsundere of the group but also the one that stole my heart. He is that guy who is so nervous just to hold hands or gets flustered kissing I have always found these actions adorably cute. Anyways once he realizes he is head over heals he wastes no time not asking if Lynette will be his girlfriend but nope to be his wife. He knows without a shadow of a doubt he wants her for the rest of his life and no one else can have her.

He makes her food, had her ring especially made and even made her wedding gown. For a 19 year old this man has never loved before but gives everything he has to make it perfect in every way. I really loved how he went from seeing people with colors to the point that for Lynette who was only acceptable when he met her she became the prettiest color combination and the most beautiful woman in the world to him. It ends it with them on his birthday which also is new years eve and you can tell where its going. He has got her on her back on the couch making out with her whispering in her ear he can't hold back any longer. I love how they gave you just enough spice to know they were going to make love into the night.

mari (nickname for himari) is very fun, she wants to be like her older sister's friend she admires. but said friend is an arrogant tsundere ohoho princess lady. mari is not nearly that arrogant or mean so she'll say lines like "it's a servant's duty to follow their princess!!" only to follow it up with "...so please tell me when you're free to hang out."

she's in tennis club (same club as her older sister's friend) but when i put her in that club on a whim i didn't realize that her eventual boyfriend would enter the tennis club in college which makes it look like he got into it because of her.

also her first meeting with her future boyfriend went like this:

mari: konno tamao, hurry up and fall for me already!

tamao: huh?????? what??????

mari: if i can defeat you, the student council president, i'll be sure to become this place's princess! so fall for me!

tamao: ....do you mean fall before me.

mari: e-eh...? did i say it wrong...?!

tamao: (...what a... unique person...)

tamao is a kind and gentle and down-to-earth guy who is so normal and nice. he falls for mari and how bold she is and how cute she is when she's embarrassed and how nice she is. he has fun when she's being eccentric too. even if she's the kind of girl who attempts to compete with owls in a head turning competition. guy who goes "i really ended up falling for you after all..." at this realization

unfortunately, even though mari is fond of him and eventually upgrades him from her servant to knight, she doesn't even notice his crush. she fell for a different guy, junpei, at first meeting because he saved her from a guy who was hitting on her, and she keeps gushing over how junpei is her prince. tamao is jealous and thinking that he fell for her like she asked so why does she need a prince....

(junpei has a crush on mari's cousin, tamami, who has a crush on tamao who can't see her as anything but a little sister because she has the same name as his older sister and also likes mari, who likes junpei. it's a hellfuck cube. both junpei and tamao hate each other.)

out of her cousins, mari is closest to ayano. ayano thinks her attempts to act like a princess are cute and funny, while mari sees ayano as exactly the sort of bold, confident woman she wants to be... even though ayano is more like a queen than a princess.

mari puts in a lot of work to reach her goals so she studies a ton and exercises to reach the top in everything. but she fails to make it to the tennis competition... tamao thinks she'll be upset but she says that all she has to do is make it to the competition in university. underneath her attitude, she's a sincere, cheerful, hardworking girl!

EPHEMERAL - Fantasy on Dark

This is another game I would play for free in high school. I had it on my phone, and it would let you do one chapter a day. I played all but one route, so on this replay as an adult only one story will be new.

As someone who’s always loved monsters, Halloween and things like that, this games whole vibe really drew me in. It’s a fun monster academy type game, and each of the routes are very different from each other since each love interest is so unique.

One thing that is a little frustrating, but sometimes leads to funny situations is the Main Character you play as is very dumb and sheltered. She picks up on nothing, is super oblivious, and sees nothing coming, even when you as a reader do. She’s also a zombie, which I think is pretty unique from games I’ve played.

Shiba

Shiba was the first route I did in high school and so I started with his again. I didn’t remember everything about this route, but as I played through a lot of it came back to me.

Shiba is so fun. He’s a tsundere werewolf, who’s super kind as well as being kind of dumb. The fact he’s dumb I think is actually a positive because as I said before, the main character is also dumb, so they are really just two idiots in love.

His route made me actually laugh a few times, and is genuinely so fun to play through. His first story I would say is more fun than the second story. The second story has some fun and funny parts, but other parts are so frustrating to read (at least for me).

Overall I love the dumb golden retriever werewolf boyfriend. Shiba is so fun, and his route is probably the best to start with (although there is no real play order).

Natsume

I didn’t play Natsume’s route in high school, so his is the only one for this game that was totally new to me. Although, I did know some stuff going in because my brother actually played his route when I showed him the game back then.

At first I wasn’t sure about Natsume. In most other routes I remember him being not very talkative and sometimes rude. But in his route it’s kind of a roller coaster. Full disclosure he is 100% a yandere, super possessive, super jealous, and he can be pretty mean towards the main character. He often belittles her and mocks her for being dumb (which to be fair she is, but that doesn’t make it right).

His main story is a very hot and cold relationship, where at times he’s super mean, and other times he’s super sweet, and there is little rhyme and reason to his behavior. His route also has way more monster race discrimination than was in Shiba’s route. Natsume’s route is also pretty dark when it comes to themes.

His second story I honestly liked way more than Shiba’s. It has so much interesting plot developments and big revelations. Plus Natsume, while still being a yandere, isn’t super mean to the main character so it was way more pleasant to read.

Overall, I wasn’t sure about him at first. But after finishing everything, I think I enjoyed the plot points and story way more in Natsume’s route than Shiba’s. It was so fun and interesting, and had less parts that made me frustrated or mad. But if you don’t like yandere or overly possessive love interests you probably will hate it, because that’s most of what his route is.

Ray

I’ve mentioned I’ve played Ray’s route before, but I can’t remember if he was the second or last I played in this game the first time. But I remember liking his route.

Ray is arrogant/egotistical and also very possessive. He often talks to the main character as something he owns rather than a person. He can also be quite cold and mean, he often calls the main character dumb, although he also admits the fact she’s dumb and therefore very obvious about her thoughts and feelings, is why he likes her so I don’t know. If you don’t like those traits you probably won’t like his route much. However, I’ve always had a thing for vampires, so obviously I’m going to love him, plus based on other characters I like, the possessive and slightly cold thing isn’t a dealbreaker for me.

As far as his first story goes, I’m unsure if he’s actually not that bad compared to Natsume or if I’m just biased because he’s a vampire. I want to lean into it’s not that bad. He’s not super mean, he just thinks way to highly of himself and is used to treating people as objects (which isn’t good, but because of his high rank many people gladly allowed this behavior). So it’s kind of understandable why he is the way he is. And I also think it’s pretty obvious when he starts to actually care about and love the main girl, even if he doesn’t always show it in the most conventional ways. His route is pretty good, with a little bit of the monster race politics playing into it.

His second story is pretty good too, although it is a tad frustrating. It deals a lot with doubt and insecurity which isn’t always the most fun. But he is clearly in love with the main character, and the ending is honestly my favorite vampire ending. I feel like it’s very different from other vampire romances, and the ending is so beautiful and unique in my opinion.

Overall, I don’t have as much to say, I really like his route but I’m not sure if it’s my favorite. I think I liked this route more when I was younger, but it was still enjoyable now. My love for vampires could be skewing my opinion though. But I think if you like vampires and want a unique vampire love story, and don’t mind a possessive and arrogant love interest, you’ll probably like it.

Nagi

Oh, sweet Nagi. He just might be my favorite, it’s hard because I love all of them uniquely, but Nagi I’d probably say is my favorite. He’s a sweet, shy, insecure, and emotional invisible man. He’s so sweet and his route feels very unique. He’s a good student, he’s so kind and caring to the main character, which is refreshing since he’s the only smart love interest that doesn’t belittle the main character for being dumb. He frequently helps her with school, and they both make each other better.

The main story is very sweet. They have good chemistry together, and I feel have the most open, honest, and venerable relationship out of all of them. This route does have some monster race discrimination as both invisible men and zombies are very low ranks. This route also addresses some of the overall big plot questions brought up in the prologue and other routes, similar to Natsume’s.

The second story is pretty cute, and is fairly different from the other three, as to not spoil too much, I’ll just say one thing that happens in the other three doesn’t at all in this one. The ending is also super sweet.

It’s hard not to love this route because I love Nagi, they have such a loving and healthy relationship for a monster romance, or heck even for an otome romance. Another reason I love Nagi’s route is his has the most scenes from his perspective, which I love it when we see from the love interest’s perspective. I also think his jealousy and possessiveness is the most normal and true to real life, so it is very sweet. I absolutely love him and his route so much!

Overall

As I’ve said, I have a soft spot for this game. It has the nostalgia factor for me, plus it has many tropes and things I absolutely love in any romance or otome. When I originally played it was on the phone and spaced out. But playing it now was the first time I played a otome game that wasn’t mobile. I played it on my switch and could binge it with full voice acting, music, and sound effects. It was such a new experience for me.

The voice acting was great, I love how many voices they had and everyone did such a great job too. Plus the music is so fun, it really puts you in a Halloween mood, so I feel it would be fun to play in October.

The world building and lore is also pretty great, the game sets a lot of things up, and each route is fairly different and answers different questions and such.

On the negative side, the translation to English wasn’t always correct, I never had a hard time reading or understanding it, but it’s definitely noticeable. It’s also fairly short, one story is 11 parts long, and you can finish it in one and a half hours. So with four routes and two stories per route that’s only around 12 hours of play time. I’m not saying this is bad, but it feels a lot shorter than other otome games I’ve played. Also sometimes the pacing is kind of all over the place, and doesn’t always flow well. This is probably because of how short the stories are.

But, all in all, I really liked playing this again. I know it’s not for everyone, I’ve seen other blogs only give it a 5/10 ranking, and I can see where they are coming from. But I think if you can get the game on sale, you should. I don’t think I could justify paying full price, but if you find a big sale (like I got it at 49% off) it’s worth it. Especially since it’s a pretty fun and quick otome game. I think it’s a good game for those who love monsters and want a fairly quick otome to play during the spooky season. I love it, and it will always have a little place in my heart.

cause on 1 hand, he NEVER breaks character, often needs modern day tech explained to him, mannerisms and speech patterns aren't modern and he often expresses emotions around missing his time period, esspecially his alleged boyfriend, who was the prince of the kingdom he worked for

but on the other hand: his tellings of his time period are a lot more in line with fantasy novels and renaissance festivals than historically accurate, he always changes the topic when asked his kingdoms name or any details about when exactly he's from, and his story of how he got sent to the present time is completely different every time he tells it

so is he a time traveler or a very passionate full time larper? yes

It’s gotta be 7 for me. Sitting between Sho and Haru with Towa right behind? Ren there trying to play his games and being constantly interrupted? Ed’s silly old ass next to Jin up ahead? It’s fantastic. A bunch of my favorite characters all together in a way that hopefully won’t give me a headache and would actually be fun.

1: Couldn’t stand to be that close to Yuri for that long. Love him. Cannot stand the arrogance for an extended period of time.

2: 2 could be fun with Haku’s rizz, but Zenji, honey, you’re too much for me too and you don’t sleep 😅.

3: I wouldn’t mind 3. With Rui’s flirtiness that I simply cannot take seriously and Luka’s earnest and natural and accidental rizz, there ain’t too much of an issue. Except Kaito screaming in my ear from right behind me.

4: 4 would be a good spot to be at too. Lyca can get worked up, but he chills out as soon as you talk things out with him so I don’t mind his outbursts too much. We could chill with him and Subaru no problem.

5: I can’t do 5 because being right next to Kaito’s simping for 6 hours straight is too much. I need breaks between him going crazy 😅

6: 6 is a bit tempting because Ed’s fun, but sitting by a tsundere for 6 hours is gonna hurt for the same reason why I can’t sit by 8. He ain’t as malicious as Leo, but damn Jin can have some bite and I’m too anxious to be questioning if he means everything he says.

8: I worry for anyone that chooses 8. Y’all okay? Next to the verbal chess master and the verbal sumo slammer who barely tolerates you? Couldn’t be me, my heart’s too soft.

9: I’d love to be able to say 9 because we love Towa and Ren, but Ren’s such a sourpuss (funny as his comments are) that I’m gonna get pissed off if I’m stuck with it for 6 hours. Happy October!!! A younger me would’ve told you Christmas was my favorite holiday of the year, but I’ve come to enjoy Halloween and October. Dressing up and eating candy is still as much fun as it was when I was a lil girl.

Anyway, the update this time around is short since not much happened in terms of project progress last month.

What’s Happening in October?

Nothing too exciting project-wise. I decided to be real with myself, so I’m taking a small break from drawing and dev work to plan our wedding and prep for a lifting competition. Once those things are out of the way, I’ll fall back to old habits (lol…).

In the second half of October, I’ll be on vacation! I was told to spend more quality time with my fiancee and to enjoy our wedding planning process more, so I’m taking full advantage LOL.

VN Dev | Froot Basket White

I didn’t give myself much opportunities to work on my projects last month. I just felt overwhelmed with work and a bunch of other projects and life stuff. When I did have time to sit at my desk to draw, I chipped away at some of those new Sutoro sprites! Here’s a lil peep!

Other than that, I’ve been figuring out some fun compositions for the CGs in Sutoro’s route. I can’t seem to settle on anything, though, so I’ll be spending this month trying to tackle it again.

The holiday season is coming up, so progress on project work will probably slow down drastically. I hope to at least finish drawing the new sprite art and coding it into the game this month so I can spend next month worrying more about the CG art and other extra art items and visuals.

Cover Story | Kaimana as Vegeta

I love love love Vegeta. I love his overwhelming confidence, his witty comebacks, his arrogance. Wow. Honestly, so hot. Plus he’s so cute when he gets flustered!!! When everyone cast their votes last month for the tsundere character Kai should cosplay, Vegeta won by a hair! I was so excited!!! I’ve been a long time DBZ fan and I don’t often draw DBZ fan art. Having the opportunity to draw Kai dressed as one of my fave character’s of all time was such a treat! I also mentioned wanting to draw someone cosplaying with Kai, but who that would be depended on the character that won. Of course, if I’m drawing Vegeta, I have to draw Goku! And who better to cosplay Goku with Kai than his best friend, Satoru! It honestly fits them so well. Satoru is so fun-loving and energetic, he plays off of Kai’s grumpiness well.

I went with Vegeta’s Namek Saga look because that’s the outfit I associate him with the most. I considered having them pose in their iconic battle poses, but I went with Galick Gun and Kamehameha because they fit together on a cover better. It looks so cool!!! Also it gives me an excuse to have fun with rays and beams of light!

Here’s the final illustration! I removed all the extra fun stuff for the actual cover because, otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to read all the words…

I considered doodling a lil Masa as Frieza in the background, but ended up leaving him out. That would be pretty funny tho… Maybe next time… xDD

Other News…

Not much honestly. Just vibing out here, picking up as many shifts as my body will allow me to make more money to fund my wedding vision lol and enjoying time with the boo thang. Actually, for the last six months I had enjoyed working at a single location, but now I’m back to traveling for work. It was easier before and I didn’t mind it as much, but now I just have to get used to it again??? Or just need to figure out how to make things work better for me again??? But no biggie. Gotta make my bread somehow, know what I mean? lol

If anyone’s interested in fitness or lifting at all, I’ve been training for a powerlifting competition! It’ll be my first meet, so I’m a lil nervous. I’ve been having a lot of fun though! I dunno, but carrying heavy things is just fun. Better than running LMAO (sorry, i dislike cardio so much…) Right now just been struggling to make weight… Is it stress? Is it my inability to stay away from ice cream? Or a bit of both? Maybe its my refusal to do cardio LOL.

Next Month?

The plan is to get wedding stuff out of the way so I can focus more of my creative energy on my projects again. Meaning, don’t expect much updates about project progress from me in November LOL. Just being real.

Vil is always trying to get you flustered and is INSANELY good at it; he knows exactly what to say all the time. It's almost scary. He thinks you're so cute and can't help himself.

The worst part is that he'll ALWAYS play innocent. Which is why he constantly subtly flirts with you in public with stuff he knows only you would understand.

Ah, Rook.

If Vil is annoying, Rook is like annoying³. He finds flustering you wayyyy too fun, you being stoic most of the time makes him feel like everytime you get flustered is a reward. Yeah, Rook being Rook.

Honestly one of the things that he always found attractive about you was because you're just so… fun to mess with. He loves guessing your emotions and always being right.

Every single time you try to deny the way he makes you feel he'll just laugh and pat your head, you're just so cute!

Rook has no problems with your boundaries or anything since even if you try to hide your feelings, he literally knows instantly just by looking at you.

I've said this so many times but Rook would work perfectly with a tsundere.

The way Idia behaves around you ALWAYS depends on how long you two have been together.

We all know that when Idia gets flustered he's incredibly jumpy and shy, to the point he can't even speak. He probably might even run away!

The first few weeks you two would need to have a lot of communication since Idia is always terrified of upsetting you; he might take your attitude the wrong way and feel incredibly guilty.

On the other hand when he actually realizes you're just shy like him, he actually tries to fluster you! However, he's not like Vil or Rook so if you ever have a comeback (which happens often since he IS NOT creative) you'll be able to fluster him back!

Both of you are insanely awkward in general.

Malleus might not know much about social cues, but he's very perceptive and curious; the way you always try to hide your feelings and act cool intrigues him.

He's not good at flirting or anything on purpose, but there's a catch. Malleus is incredibly romantic and always tells you genuine compliments.

He's sooooo cheesy sometimes, every single time he flusters you is by accident. Not that he's not pleased of course.

Doesn't mind it at all, he finds it kinda funny sometimes.

Ace tries to be smug like Vil and fluster you but he's an idiot /affectionate.

He's a HUGE tease and will try to get any literally ANY reaction out of you. Unfortunately for him, he's extremely soft for you. Not that he'll ever admit it.

He thinks you're so cute to the point he'll get nervous just by looking at you, which is why he always fails miserably when trying to tease you.

He's kinda a tsundere too.

Epel lives for the banter.

Just like Ace he always tries to get a reaction out of you, except he prefers to flirt with you as a joke. He didn't know how to flirt so he asked for help (Rook) and was utterly disgusted but hey! he's able to imitate him and make you laugh and perhappsss a bit flustered; and since you're always so stoic every single reaction is a huge win!

Epel is not as good at telling when you're genuinely mad or just shy but he's slowly learning!

Which one do you prefer, Wangxian or Wenzhou 👀

If we’re talking about the novels alone, I like wangxian a bit more. If we take all adaptations into account, I prefer Wenzhou because of the live adaptation. They’re quite similar as ships, power couple, both characters are best of their gen, broadly agree with each other in values and principles, “arrogant” in their own way. Both ships have a shamelessly and cringely courting the other and providing the comedy.

I’ll only talk about the novel here (because my bias for zhang zhehan would completely get in the way if we start talking about the drama)

Things I prefer about wangxian

1.Cloud Recesses flashback.

Both teen wwx and lwj were soooo cute in the flashback, there are traits and dynamics that can only be executed well when the characters are certain age. For example, wwx enjoying provoking lwj because of his tsundere reaction, and lwj being easily flustered as if he’d never been teased before. This brings to my 2nd point.

2. lwj and zzs are both the “pretty one” in the ship, both stoic, but because we got to see lwj in his teen, I think it’s made his character more moe and soft. They're both surprisingly witty when they finally flirt back. I think the contrast and gap in expetations were greater in lwj's case because he's so proper and repressed in his teen.

3. It’s written from the “walking cringe” POV

Wwx and wkx are both shameless and cringe, and wwx is cringer and funnier than wkx in the novel. Wwx also has the advantage of having his inner thoughts, his fanboying of lwj communicated loud and clear to the readers. TYK was written from zzs’ pov, and his inner thoughts are less funny. I hear people talk about how they want to read lwj’s pov, I think if mxtx ever wrote it, it’d be similar to zzs’s, it wouldn’t be the angst and sentimentality people expect

Things I prefer about wenzhou

1.In the novel, Wkx and zzs had a brief period of mutual distrust and intrigue, when tried to figure out each other’s real identity and motive. I like this dimension of the ship. I don’t mean I like how they came to trust each other, I just enjoy their interaction when they’re both intrigued and guarded at the same time.

2. The romance of these novels are paced to suit the plot, they only become canon when the story ends. In the novel, the reason zzs didn’t give wkx a clear and positive response because he wasn’t sure if he’s gonna live, he waited until he’s confident there’s a cure. It’s simpler and more organic than wangxian. In wangxian’s case, their interactions and relationship were so interrupted by events and plot, it left some stupid people confused and arguing over who’s to blame.

He always targets them in matches just because he finds their reaction funny, je tries to make them get first kite

He notices and decides to hold their hand. They look happy and content with that

Then they quickly let go seeing a survivor running up to them to rescue. S/o secretly wishes they wouldn't because they wanted to hold Xie's hand a little bit longer

But if this is with Fan. He would be smug about it

So instead, they just carry s/o bridal style. They're just snuggled into their chest, not even trying to struggle. This makes Xie to not want to chair them, while Fan is conflicting with himself. He ends up holding them the entire match and chasing other survivors around

Outside of matches, Xie lets them hold his hand all they want and he won't say anything, in a way he finds their behavior cute

S/o never really has to snap at him for anything because he never teases them about craving affection

When he's napping somewhere (like a chair for example). S/o cuddle in his lap, Xie woke up when he felt them crawl into his lap, but didn't open his eyes. He just has a very small smile. He doesn't say anything either

He just wraps his arms around them and they just nap together

Fan just loves getting a rise out of them

Their angry face is just so cute! How could he resist?

Well, he couldn't resist until he saw them having a flare gun. He doesn't tease when they have a flare gun

But outside of matches, he doesn't do it so much. At the end of the day, he just wants to relax without issue. He'll tease a little bit, but not much

It was a pretty quiet cuddle session. Which what they both wanted and need

In duo's, it gets pretty annoying for s/o because this time, their two boyfriends won't camp due to the chair having bars. Meaning they have the chance to go chase other survivors

This also means they can't hold one of their hands

And if a different hunter is trying to chair them. They have the most colorful mouth in the entire manor to the point the hunter just throws them at Wu Chang

Yes this sparked an argument between the two Hunter's and s/o is unknowingly hugging Wu Chang while glaring at the other hunter

Fan decided to throw the match out of spite, and Xie is giving up Hunter's location to survivors. S/o was never thrown like that again

At night s/o sleeps in the middle. They pretend to hate it the first time, but after a while. It just becomes a habit

S/o is probably holding onto Fan like a teddy bear and Xie is the one spooning them

When one of them tries to get out of bed s/o grabs on to them. Not saying anything. Fan would playfully roll his eyes. Xie's heart would melt and cave in

It's a sweet yet funny relationship. Xie would be reading and sipping on his tea while s/o is chasing Fan in the background with a shoe and he's just bullying them

I don’t know if many people in the II fandom know about/have seen this video, but this is from an actual, honest-to-god animation created by Adam himself.

I wanted to share this because I think the original characters created for the video are really cute and I sadly haven’t seen any content for them whatsoever.

My take on their personalities are under the cut, along with some misc. artsy headcanons for the official contestants (just for fun)!

Drama Mask: A genuinely friendly guy who adores theater, opera and musicals and wishes to be a professional actor. More laidback and easygoing compared to the others.

Tutu: A refined and ladylike ballet dancer, but she’s also a bit of a tsundere + himedere. Her nicer side makes its presence once you get to know her more, and she secretly yearns for friends.

Music Note: Speaks formally at all times, but is also pretentious, stuck-up and arrogant. Thinks classical music is superior to every other genre. Bad at taking criticism. Good at playing piano, violin, and other string instruments.

Camera: Quiet, yet passionate about photography and takes it very seriously (to the point where others worry it’s an obsession). Otherwise he’s somewhat of a fussy pessimist.

Saxophone: A bit argumentative and temperamental (but not to the same extent as Paintbrush). Often gets into arguments with Music Note (they don’t really get along). Wants to be a jazz musician but isn’t very good at playing any instruments.

As a whole, I like to envision this as a sort of AU where Paper, Painty and Mic go to art school with these characters. I just think it’s fun!

Paper: Wants to be a professional author who publishes his own novels. He also writes 300k-word fanfics about his rarepairs on Ao3. Because that’s funny to me.

Paintbrush: Wants to pursue painting. They heavily enjoy it because it’s relaxing and helps control their temper. That being said, like Music Note, they’re bad at taking criticism, even if it’s constructive. They’re trying to get over this.

Microphone: Wants to be a rock musician. She wishes to be the vocalist of a band, but is having trouble because of her loud singing voice (and penchant for death metal screams). She is a genuinely good singer, however, it’s just that she’s really loud. Also, she blasts heavy metal in her dorm at the worst possible times (usually when people are trying to study). People kinda hate her for it.

Character Tuesday, Solar's Man Harem!

Just gonna jump right into it.

Main House:

Stag is king.

Right hand man, Will Herondale from the Infernal devices series by Cassandra Clare. He is smart, he can be sweet, he pushes people away (naturally), a bookworm, and you wouldn't suspect any of these things based on his personality, an arrogant bully. I absolutely love him and he deserves all the love. Just gotta break through the surface first.

Left hand man, Percy freaking Jackson. I love him, okay? I feel him on so many levels. He loves showing off, but doesn't feel good enough. Never looks before he leaps, but man does he commit to that leap. Loyal to a fault. I fell in love with him when I read his series and I just had to have him. Part of him likes being the center of all the prophecies. The other is absolutely terrified. And I love all of it.

Syaoran from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles was the first to enter. Without spoiling too much hopefully, "Syaoran" is the one I mean, okay? If you've read the manga, you know what I'm talking about. In ways, he should be in the day care (I'll explain in a bit) but he's much more useful around the house and I'll explain that bit later too. Also, he's just so sweet. 💙

I adopted Kyo from Fruits Basket because someone should. He's fiery and funny and cute and angsty and just needs a hug. And he cooks, so I have taken him. And I would hug him all the time. 😀 Specifically because he hates it. 😆

Yato God! From Noragami. And he has his own shrine in the back yard because I want him to always have a home and to know he will never be forgotten, ever, at least by me. I just, I love him so much. I love him. Ugh, I love him. He deserves all the good things. All of them, I tell you!

Honorable Mentions/Waitlist:

The Flash/Barry Allen, Grant Gustin version. I like him more in the first few series, but he's not really just an honorable mention. He's frequently in and out of the house doing speedster things. He's quirky and funny and I'd love just talking to him all day about nerdy stuff. I mean, you've read my My World Monday posts, right? He'd totally help me science out all of my fantasy realm. But... his true love is Iris, and I'm a sucker for unrequited love. So in and out until one day he just stops coming because she finally gave him the time of day. 💔

Damon Salvatore, Vampire Diares. Um, if there was ever a Stag in human (ish) form, it was this guy, but he's straight. Still sexy as hell though, and he can visit whenever he wants. 💙 He really needs to leave the drama wherever it's at though; I feel like he has a lot. >.>

Dean Winchester, Supernatural. Another sexy sexy guy! Honestly, I like the idea that he's still a free spirit though, and there's no way I could get him to settle, so I'll be the one to visit him. Frequently. But he's always welcome. I just don't think he's quite the right fit for what I'm looking for though. Doesn't mean he isn't fun. 😉

Mushra, Shinzo. He used to be in the main house, but I'm just not really attracted to him anymore. He doesn't qualify for the day care and he's quite fiery, but he has to at least be here because I just can't let him go, especially with the tiny fandom Shinzo has. And he's got a good heart. :') So honorable mentions it is.

Karma Akabane, Assassination Classroom. Okay, he would raise hell if I let him in, so he's staying on the waitlist. Of all the people in this section, he's the only one who's "on the waitlist" because I feel like he'd be constantly trying to break in to wreak some havoc and my boys would be trying to chase him out with the broom. 😆 But part of me kinda likes this, so I think it's sort of perfect where he's at, the "waitlist".

Inuyasha is another one that I stopped really being attracted to, so he's an honorable mention. I also thought he'd hate the idea of "being owned" so it works out for the best, but he'll always have a place in my heart. Such a tsundere…

Day Care:

Gerit, OC. He's a good dog and I really just wanna take care of him and pet him on the head all the time because he likes it. 💙 Very easy to please, and so cute.

Deshi, OC. He's very upset about being in the day care, but all I gotta do is set up an awesome game room with all his favorite games and send him food stuffs and he's happy. And he's okay with this, so he "accepts" it. Begrudgingly, lol. Hates that it's called the "Day Care" though, but I find it's most apt.

Fushi, To Your Eternal. I want to teach him all the things and I can totally see him latching onto someone and following them around like a little duck and just being cute all the time and I just want him in my day care so I can teach him all the things and he can be the ultimate squish. 💙💙💙 Cuteness overload! AHHHHHHH!

Explanation:

The Main House is basically characters that I'm attracted to that if I were their age or vice versa, I'd very much want to be with them. The reason Stag is king is because I don't care if I'm with him, or if I am him. I consider him to be sort of my alter ego if I were I guy, and because of the closeness, that's why he's king, and no one can replace him. A similarity between the five in the house (we're excluding Percy in this case, he's pretty loyal either way) is that if you happen to earn your way into their heart, they are loyal to you to the end. All of them share this trait, and all of them have built up walls for one reason or another that makes them hard to reach, and I just want so much to be the one that reaches them.

The Honorable Mentions/Waitlist means that for one reason or another, they don't qualify to be in the Main House, but I still love them dearly. And then there's Karma. He's here more for fun and like I said, it just sorta works where he is, lol.

The Day Care is for characters that I have adopted and wish only to take care of them because their lives are really fucked up and/or they are just so innocent and I want so much to protect them. They are my squishes and I luff them with all my heart! They just need to be taken care of properly. 😤
