You know, I really like how Yana has a different “Yuu” for each chapter in the TWST manga.

I hadn’t a moment to truly look at it until now - but I feel like the story is perfect for an alternate reality theme. The only way any Yuu would be able to ‘fix’ every problem would be if they were some kind of Mary Sue or shounen protag.

I love how each Yuu is reflective of the Dorm leaders. Of *course* the Heartslabyul chapter is going to have a strong, buff, very jock-like Yuu. That’s the complete foil of who Riddle is. Not to mention how it’s reflective of the Dorm’s rambunctiousness.

And *of course* Savanaclaw’s Yuu is a woman. Women are powerful and respected in the Sunset Savannah. Leona’s more likely to listen to a female Yuu, and most of the students in his dorm are strength-oriented that would crumble under the authority of a feminine god.

Then we have Octavinelle’s Yuu - my favorite, personally. He loves food, has a tender heart, and has a bit of chub. Now - yes he’s what Azul fears he will become but *also* I think this Yuu is reflective of Azul’s mother and her ideals. Or at least is the man she was raising Azul to be until his self-hatred began. I feel like most Octavinelle students have a flip side to them, so a Yuu that’s true to himself is perfect for this chapter.

I write my fics similar to this actually - every character has a Yuu in my mind that I think would match them. I don’t just write with one personality for Yuu in my works. Just an example, but the Yuu I place with Deuce is extremely different than the one I put with say Floyd when writing. Both physically and personality wise. It gets a bit wishy-washy since I have to write in 2nd person most of the time, but it’s still there when I’m formulating scenarios. Especially when I write anything that has dialog or flitters into Yuu’s thoughts. This really came out when writing the plot for my game since it’s dialog heavy.

I won’t make it because I’m already doing one game (and I want to move on after this), but there’s some good wiggle room for an alternate reality spinoff using TWST. Like once TWST finishes its main plot, there could definitely be some branching where Yuu has a bit more personality and different routes to go down depending on their chosen dorm.

You know what I think is wasted potential? The Junkers and Junkertown. Specifically in the fact of them being the foil group to Vishkar. Cause in my opinion the way Australia and Junkertown were implemented into Overwatch's story is the weakest to me, especially since I myself am Australian and actually know how Australians act.

The biggest thing to me is the wishy washy attitude the writers have with Roadhog being Maori, he has a skin and his name, that's it. The thing is though, I have never met a Maori or Aboriginal person that didn't show a significant amount of pride in their heritage. Now this also comes into my favorite part of Junkertown and the Junkers implementation, and that is the history.

Part of the reason why Junkertown exists is because of the fact that the Australian government did consult the Aboriginal people in the area about giving the Omnium to the Omnics. Inherently Junkertowns formation was partially because people had pride in their indigenous heritage, so there being basically nothing for Roadhog other then his name and a skin name genuinely makes me mad.

The voice acting would also make me mad in this wasn't just a thing that happened to Australians and New Zealanders in general, I have hardly ever seen an Australian character be played by an Australian, the same goes for New Zealand characters. Hell even Junker Queens voice actor feels like she's being told to play up her accent, and she's actually Australian.

Not only that but to me the Junkers fail at being a foil to Vishkar. The thing about Vishkar is that they pose as a benevolent organization when what they're really doing is gentrifying poor neighborhoods, practicing child labor, and are literally working with a terrorist organization. Junker town is supposed to be the opposite to that, but they're not, not in the way that makes them a foil to Vishkar. To be a foil to Vishkar Junkertown and the Junkers would need to be treated as the complete opposite, basically being this place of complete freedom and chaos, a place of equal intelligence but opposite morals to Vishkar. It has the foundations of that don't get me wrong, but it's not enough to make me see them as foils.

Story wise there also isn't an obvious conflict between the two groups. Overwatch and Talon have a rich history together, Null Sector and the Shambali monks have Ramattra and Zenyatta to represent both groups, there is basically nothing for Vishkar and the Junkers. Hell if there was history for those groups it would give the Junker characters more of a reason to join the fight and leave Australia other then "there's a fight". Cause right now the only Junker character to actually have stakes in the current lore is Hammond because of his connection to Winston.

Environmentally I would have loved to see more vibrant colors and Aboriginal art in Junkertown, I would love it to be more the "Mad Max but Overwatch", I would love for the Junkers to feel like complete opposite of Viskar cause so far we have the other two group rivalries be explored, Talon and Overwatch are mirror foils, there are a lot of similarities between the two groups but their goals are polar opposites, Null Sector and the Shambali monks are philosophical foils they have the same end goal but opposite methods to get to that goal. Vishkar and Junkertown are very obviously supposed to be complete opposites, yet they have none of the nuance that the other groups do have. Vishkar erases the culture of places they go, yet Junkertown isn't that culturally rich, Vishkar pretends to do good but is very much bad, Junkertown is just bad, Vishkar is control and order, Junkertown runs on chaos and freedom yet also has rules that got Junkrat exiled, taxes and harasses it's citizens and is just as elitist as Vishkar? This would make sense if this is how Junkertown worked before JQ's rule but fundamentally, nothing is different from Junker Queen and Howl's rule. They could have still done this plot line, just with Vishkar trying to take over and tax Junkertown rather then JQ.

Basically, Junkertown would be much more interesting to me if they had gone fully into Vishkar and Junkertown being complete opposites. Instead they get a faction that doesn't have any depth and characters who hold little to no stakes of the plot.

Can I pester you for your thoughts on Dabi and Hawks' respective canon endings (if you haven't posted em somewhere already and I've just missed it)

Oh yeah, I did say I'd touch on that and sure never did huh. I got so fed up that I just ignored the ending and didn't feel like acknowledging it with a post anymore.

But I do have an answer for you. It's gonna be a long one, buckle up buttercup.

As for Dabi's 'end'.

Ah yes, fantastic message Horikoshi, if you're not a perfect victim and don't shrink away and make yourself small and hide away from your abuse/abuser - if you get mad and lash out then you should just fucking die. Your ABUSER gets a second chance, but you can just go fuck yourself.

(For a better understanding on how I feel about Dabi's story as a whole I got, what, 2 sentences in and had to pause because I'm sick as hell right now and a little fucked up on cold medicine, and I got so mad my hands started shaking and my heart tried to do it's best impression of a wildebeest stampede in my chest. (Emotional regulation who?))

Dabi is my ride or die, because I came from a home where my sperm donor terrorized me my whole life for the crime of being alive and having the gall to take after my mother. I have an unfortunately personal understanding of how he feels, at least in part, and his end in the story is what bothers me most, and will continue to do so.

Did he go about it the best way? No, I'm not a fan of the murder (arson I couldn't give 2 fucks about, destroy that government property babey) but I can't blame him for turning out the way he did. He went through literal hell and came out the other side torn apart physically and mentally. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't fantasize about killing my sperm donor for all the ways he fucked me up every once in a while, so I can't blame him for that either. I think it's a natural reaction to want to eliminate a perceived threat, especially one as traumatizing as one of the people who are supposed to be guaranteed to love you turning on you the way Endeavor did.

But anyway, I'm rambling at this point so in a nutshell; FUCK Horikoshi and his wishy washy writing and bitchass cop out. The end to Dabi's story is insulting at best and harmful at worst. It's very obvious that he was over My Hero, since he bulldozed over anything that would resemble a satisfying ending in regards to multiple parts of the story, but his handling of Dabi as a character is the most egregious in my opinion. I have well and truly had enough of this man (derogatory).

So now I shall move on to the man, the myth, the legend, the love of my life - you get it. Hawks. And if I'm being honest I'm not very keen on his ending either.

First of all, what ever happened to giving heroes more time to kill?

Fucking give me that man, he needs to be sat down in a plush fucking armchair, with a mug of actual coffee, not that canned shit, bundled in the softest blanket money can buy, just relaxing and reading or watching a show. LET THAT MAN REST. HIS ASS HAS NO BUSINESS BEING THE PRESIDENT OF AN ORGANIZATION THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABOLISHED AT THE END. THAT'S WHAT IT FELT LIKE HORIKOSHI WAS HINTING TOWARDS THE WHOLE TIME. GET RID OF THE HERO SYSTEM. BUT NOOOOO.

To be a little more coherent (hopefully) about it. It's not to say I don't think he could do it, I just think it was one fuck of a leap. That was some Olympic level stretching, at least in my opinion. I just think that man deserves to rest. He belongs in a quiet little house in the countryside and he has a part time job at like, a local farm or something and in his spare time he volunteers all over town and preferably Dabi is there as well 🙄. Give him peace and quiet, let him rest.

I honestly don't know what would have satisfied me canon wise for his ending, but HPSC president just ain't it. Again, I feel like it was Horikoshi catching the cooties for his own work; he just wanted to be done with it so he slapped together what he thought was the most likely of scenarios and just left it at that. In a word; disappointing.

I see a lot of people saying he should have died, because out of everyone of the heroes his death would have made the most sense and had the most meaning or whatever, and I can agree with that, but I'm still glad he's not dead. It absolutely is fucked up how disproportionate the deaths were when it comes to heroes vs villains, no one can deny that. But dammit I need a win, I need a fave who ain't dead.

I think that about wraps up my thoughts without me writing a god damn dissertation. Thanks for the ask, it was a nice distraction.

Stray Kids View on Marriage

Okay, another requested one I will be doing of them. Let's take a look at what their thoughts are on Marriage. Okay, interesting cards here.

Bang Chan (2 of Wands/Detach) Well, sexual chemistry will be important lol He will want spark and fireworks, definitely does not want things to be stale. I just heard stale in the bedroom, yo this boy lol He doesn't want that. I love him for that, thanks for making me laugh here. He definitely wants things to be fun lol I see him as someone who will see things rationally and fairly in Marriage. He isn't the type that will get caught up in emotions too much. He will be objective in the matters of Marriage. I see him being good at being able to carpmentalize things in Marriage. He will also be good at making decisions and will be good at including his partner. He would want both to take part in the decision making. But I will say he may not be too emotionally available as a husband, which kind of surprises me.

Lee Know (Queen of Pentacles rv/Manifest rv) Umm, both of these came reversed, which I never like. Yeah, not liking these cards. This gives me he doesn't really want to get married to be honest. Queen of Pentacles rv is giving me greedy and selfish vibes here and the manifest card reminds me of the magician, with it reversed, it gives me master manipulator. But I can also see this as this is not something he is trying to manifest in his life. This isn't something he wants right now. I can also see the QOP's rv, as him not really having all that he needs career wise and financially, so he doesn't really want Marriage yet, because of that.

Changbin (Queen of Swords/Opportunity Beckons) Now, this could mean there is someone he has in mind and when the right opportunity comes, he will take it, or he is more intellectual when it comes to his ideas on Marriage. He isn't they type to just jump into it. He is pretty cautious about it. He seems like the type that is hard to get to know on a deeper and emotional level. He may also want someone who is that way too. I think it may be hard to tie this boy down. He gives me he is not that emotional. A very rational and logical person when it comes to Marriage and there will be a lot of mystery around him.

Hyunjin (Knight of Cups=/Daydreams and Decisions) This boy is so in his head all the time and so emotional. Does he know what reality is? So, the Knight of Cups was in a challenged position. He can be open emotionally, very charming, very loving, a giver, all about romance, but he could struggle to show it at times, may be distant at times. It is like he likes the idea of Marriage, has thoughts about it, but won't really go for it, or take action on it. It will be hard for him to make decisions. I got very wishy-washy energy. A lot of uncertainty around him regarding Marriage. I got so confused in this boy's energy. Like I can barely think clearly to even explain what he wants. His energy is always difficult to work with ugh

Han (The Devil/Open Up) This boy's energy is not great either. The Devil card is not a great card to get here. I got attachment issues, toxic tendencies. Egotistical, narcissist is what I got too. He struggles to allow himself to open up and be vulnerable. Bruh the fuck is this energy he has, ugh I hate it, once again the sickness feeling coming over me. I can also barely think. This dude does not pass the vibe check for me at all. So, he may look at Marriage in a toxic way, very attached and possessive. He may keep his partner on lock.

Felix (King of Wands/10 of Cups) Felix please save me lol Feeling much better here, thank you. I say he is very determined to get his happily ever after. I say he wants a family, that happily ever after, lots of love and happiness. Marriage may be a big goal for him. A happy family life may be something he wants. He is also a very passionate guy, can be sexual, a bit dominant. I say on the outside he comes of very loving and sweet, and he is, but he also has this daring, adventurous side to him as well. He will be a fun and an exciting husband. I see him planning out a lot of fun adventures for his spouse. He will also be an inspiring and creative husband to his partner. He will bring the passion and love to his Marriage, and I see him wanting kids.

Seungmin (7 of Cups/Reaching Out) Not sure he wants Marriage right now. He seems to be undecided and has many options to choose from. He may struggle to be a team with his partner, to work with his partner, or even seek help from his partner in Marriage. He may even be the cheating type here. He seems confused when it comes to Marriage. Not sure he cares for it, or wants it right now. I am getting, he is like I have so many options, why think of marriage.

I.N (3 of Pentacles/Base Chakra) He needs to be very grounded and stable to get Married. His partner may also need to be stable and grounded as well. He would want to work as a team with his partner, collaboration will be important. He is all about working together for a common goal. He wouldn't be the type of partner that makes all the money and provides for his partner. He wants them both to play a part and both help build their future together. He will need to have all his needs met, financial stability being one of them, to be able to get married. Like he needs a solid foundation. He may need to have all these things set in place before marrying, he won't do it spontaneously. He might even want them to live together and have a house before getting Married.

Okay, some were cute, some were bad, some in between, that is usually how this group works for me lol

Wheeler skin ideas

Guest of Honor Straight up just Warbucks’s outfit. Was looking at poacher outfits for triumphant before changing it and looked at Warbucks and was like, yeah. He is a rich British explorer, wearing the fashion of the day. It’s still explorer themed and an homage to the character she replaced (though not a good one).

Survivor Like the others, just Wheeler but scratched up, I imagine with cut hair and her pants cut into shorts or something. With those big pads they can’t be able to stay on through such conditions.

Triumphant I was going for a poacher, like a rich British explorer but after thinking how it worked with her personality, seems best to do something else. A fighter pilot fits better with her gung ho personality. Somebody said she would be a biker but Winona already has a biker girl outfit. So at least a full body pilots suit would be both menacing and in character. And give her a evil mustache to twirl, for extra measure.

Halloween skins all the survivors have two Halloween skins, a mob from the game and a classic kind of costume. For the mob, she would be a catcoon, badabing badaboom, she loved cats. Or a hound/varg. Kind of like Warly’s carrat outfit, she don’t like dog 😔. And for the more classic costume I would go with a cowboy! She would relate to the cowboys need for exploring the new land and I think she would enjoy the role of a sheriff.

Gladiator more wishy washy because of how general the skins are so just throwing ideas to the wall. Half of her hair shaved off, like Winona’s but just half. Unsure what her face paint would be, would mostly be through doing different patterns and see what works. Her armor would be very light, to match with her health, like mostly covering her upper body and a skirt. I don’t know man :( was thinking the over sexual woman’s armor traditionally in games because there is WAY too much boob armor.

Roseate For this, I would have her in a dress (mostly for the femme x butch thing with Winona, just a bit silly). I have been listening to the great gatsby soundtrack on repeat so I would so some sort of 1920s dress based on the night life. Come on, she’s adventurous! Of course she would be at these parties! Someone who goes places has to enjoy them.

Snowfallen She would be an explorer… of the poles! I’m a big puffy jacket with a fluffy collar that goes around her head (hats ontop) with thick gloves. Her quote would be like, “Surprisingly not as insulated as it looks.” Or something about how she’s still freezing under all those layers.

Verdant More unsure about this, like what nature role she would take. Perhaps an adventure captured by the beauty of nature. Would personally make her look more exotic, to fit with the adventure theme.

Victorian COMPLETELY STEALING THIS FROM kittemfang they reminded me I needed to do this because they posted an amazing plane tester Victorian Wheeler concept, a wanna be aviator testing the prototypes. BASICLY that. Any adventure outfit would look to similar to her current design.

Magmatic like the gladiator, unsure. Plus, IF Wheeler was in the game, doubt they would make any new skins of these sets. Like the others, firey hair with a basic outfit, really not many ideas for this.

Merrymaker Santa. Joking but her ass WOULD get in a full Santa outfit for the kids. Hard to pin down something I’m happy with and I’m too tired to think. It’s a general jolly theme, I’ll edit this if I think of anything.

Moonbound Something like a faux astronaut suit would be fun. She would get to explore a new plane :)

Masquerader Also haven’t looked at specific examples but I would go with a bird theme. All of her bird quotes are somber, about how she wishes to fly.

Other skin ideas Two that are really loose single skin ideas are an Indiana jones outfit. Very basic but very classic outfit for an adventurous character! Second is a commercial airline pilot. Just unique enough from the others to work, but would be a bit off timeline wise but it’s for the funsies. Also it would be cute if there was a flight attendant Walter outfit. The kid trying to help the cool adventurer :)

I’m on a trip right now so this is incoherent, but wanted to get some ideas down. I’ll draw them once I get back and will edit these as see fit.

Why is Wujing the most wishy washy when interpreting his design?

I think that in most cases he is both the easiest, and can be the hardest to interpret. Technically speaking, he is built like a man with mostly human features and can be interpreted as a normal human with the occasion of red hair and tinted skin but otherwise doesn’t need prosthetics like Bajie or faux fur like Wukong. Not to mention that because Wujing has the one of the least impact characteristic he is the most likely to be changed in personality depending on the medium. I have seen him being portrayed as a Gentle Giant with not much to say but always has a big heart, to a Raging Brute with a short temper but while emotional still tries to never give up, to even a Quiet Genius where his quiet nature comes from more of a quizzical point of view. Wujing in the story is shown to be thoughtful, caring, and ruthless, so any of these depictions wouldn't be inaccurate but rather a highlight of only one of these traits.

But design-wise, he could be considered the hardest as if accurately portrayed he would be nearly 12 feet tall, completely blue, and have a full red beard. None of these can be practically done and so most people settle with just making him a normal man with perhaps some monstrous features. I have seen the most in Japanese media that he is portrayed often as a kappa because these are popular river spirits and Wujing is a river spirit himself.

It really just depends if you’re watching a live-action TV show, which is more likely to use the more practical design, or if you’re watching a cartoon or animation that would benefit from the unique indifferent character choices. Depending on what the director wishes to portray Wujing will heavily influence his design. If he is to be seen as a Gentle Giant he might be given a more soft look, allowing the audience (perhaps aimed for children) to be more sympathetic. If he is seen as a Raging Brute he would be more intimidating in appearance whether human or demon. And if he were to be a Quiet Genius they would give him a more noble bearing like a scholar. You have to think more like a producer or a costume designer for a movie when it comes to where you want to put most of your effort into the prosthetics and fur costumes and at least have two characters with simple designs.

You see more in most cases for more long-running tv series or for more domestic movies there are human Wukong designs, mostly inspired by the beloved 1987. There are cases that which most of the cast can look more human as well, making Wujing stand out less. Some of these looks range from hiring tough intimidating men to older more soft spoken men depending on the character.

With Xiyouji movies there is a higher chance of Wujing being more detailed since it is a one-time production compared to TV shows where it has to be consistent. These are either full face makeup or full body paint and you have to see the dedication when it comes to putting on such details. A good example is how the 2014 Monkey King Wukong looks the most human out of the four as he is to be seen as a Gentle Giant, while in the second picture, Marble Mountain 2022 Wujing is given striking fish scale prosthetics as he is a Raging Brute in this movie. Demon Strike Back Wujing leans more to Raging Brute with his such temper hence his intimidating eyes and fish prosthetics, but he said the role by proving himself to be one of the most insightful and thoughtful characters in the movie as he is able to analyze his journeymen emotionally and mentally, giving sight of that Quiet Genius.

While in cartoon movies or television can be inspired by the live action, or wish to portray him more accurately. Even in animation, the 1986 is so popular that even when they can use a more accurate design, his human design is still seen! I believe this is because this is the softest version of Wujing that would give children that Gentle Giant persona that is most likely being portrayed.

But personally, I enjoy when production allows him to have a more monstrous form and allows him to finally look like a demon. We see this only in a few movies and shows but surprisingly it is increasingly popular in comics and video games. This could be allowing Wujing to be more of his Raging Brute persona but surprisingly many of these examples are Quiet Genius as well with Monkey King Reborn 2021, Saiyuki 2001, and Adventure through China Wujing all being seen as Geniuese in their own right despite their monstrous appearances. I would say this is a clever contradictory visualization to have their largest and most-human but still not member to be one of the smartest rather than having him play a Brute.

In any case, there are a lot of ways that people can utilize the beloved Wujing as because his character is one of the most subdued he is easy to play with. We have seen him from Gentle Giant to Ranging Brute to Quiet Genius to anything in between. Whether he is quizzical or thoughtful or just doesn't have anything to say at all he is always a delight to see and given the time he deserves to be fleshed out. I think that the greatest design for a Wujing would allow him to show his Gentle nature without erasing his Rage either. He is a man who is haunted by his past of having a single mistake ruining his life, and pushing to perform cannibalism to survive. But he is a kind man at heart and is shown to be a Thoughtful and Clever individual when he is given the spotlight allowing him to move past his rage and self-hatred to show his earnest feelings of wanting to be a better man. In any case a Wujing is loyal, earnest, and honest to a fault and those are consistent qualities that make him wonderful. Wujing isn't given a lot of screen time but I think that he has so much to offer from anguish, comfort, and philosophical discussions.

Personality: he's the type of guy to want to be with a girl he can physically spar with even wrestle them in a playful way but also in a bit of a competitive sense. Since I see that Kota is not specific at all about personality traits or visual traits he wants in a partner but he's specific about the location (gym) that he wants to meet a partner at. He does like good communication skills in a partner, like the person has to mentally stimulate him and keep him entertained with what they say to him. He does like a mire confident and seductive partner , the type to start a conversation with him and initiate interest in him.

025. What do they consider beautiful in others personality-wise?

((Crowley is a sucker for people who go out of their way to care for others, especially if they're good to her people in particular. It's a difficult world, people who can still afford to be gentle, kind, and compassionate are invaluable.

She loves people she can laugh and joke and be silly with, whether she can convince them to play along with her or they're at least willing to humor her attempts. (If she gets a laugh out of someone she likes, she's winning. :p)

And - in as much as it's a personality - the people who stay in face of of all the fear, damage and ugliness she's wrapped in, that kind of patient, forgiving and accepting that loves her anyway. The people she can feel safe in, she adores completely.))

049. How does your character feel about growing old?

((Left behind. Things being as they are now, she isn't going to grow old by a humanly conceivable timescale. Like, four- to five-digits is likely to be low-balling it by a lot. But it's also only been a little over six years since her clock all but stopped, so there's a lot of it that... she can't really wrap her head around yet. It scares her. Who knows who she'll be by the time her time is up and if she'll still like who she becomes?

She also... never really thought much about living past twenty to begin with. She went from a sick kid to a miserable one, and up until she found the nerve to try to make a break for it, for better or worse, her aunt was the only thing keeping her alive. Before she left, she didn't expect she'd live much longer than Rose did.

Now she's going on 31, stuck at 24,and trying to figure out what to do from here. She doesn't even know what aging will look like for her now; it's not like she's going to be human by the end of it. ...If she even still counts as human now.

She knows she's very likely to outlive a lot of folks close to her, but her alt Other Meredith hits the hardest right now. She's watching herself grow older, where she should be, and for all of Crowley's love and loyalty for Other Meredith and the promise of never abandoning he, Crowley's still going to be left behind when she goes. And she can't, in good conscience, do anything about it.))

((For herself, she'd probably pick a pretty straightfoward Fighter. She'd be pretty happy to support her party with hitting things and shielding them where she can.

Her actual abilities would probably slot pretty well with Paladin, but she'd be kind of wishy-washy on it. She isn't particularly devoted to any kind gods or deities (Gaia's pretty quiet and doesn't really ask for anything) and she doesn't really like the idea of rigidly sticking to specific ideals. I don't think it's something she'd specifically seek out to do.

I could see her perhaps dabbling in magical theory along the lines of a Wizard or Artificer though. She'd happily be a big nerd.))

Her drone, Oculus, didn't have nearly as much of a personality when she first found them. She still ended up adopting them and putting in the time and effort to repair them when they got damaged (again).

I really think Oleander wouldn’t rlly find out until he was older, like maybe even post psychonauts 1 n 2, mainly because he probably had a lot of toxic masculinity pressured onto him from his family environment lingering over. Especially given some of the things in his mind/some of his dialogue lines + not being able to get into the military and such. I’m sure Raz going into his mind and clearing some family trauma up in there tho rlly would help him figure that out later on tho!

For loboto I really don’t have a complex headcanon for him. His parents probably weren’t supportive, and his short hair in his mind as a kid was probably either just his self imaging on how he wanted to look as a child, or he took some scissors to his hair and his mom had to neaten it up even if she didn’t want his hair that short.

Dexter is a trans guy! His parents had a really, wishy-washy personality for actually caring about Dexter, and by the time he really came out he’s already so much of a ‘problem child’ that his parents probably just Didn’t really care what he did gender wise. He was always type to actively fight any sort of girl perceptions of him, even before he knew he was trans. Most of his clothes pre-villainy consisted of t shirts and shorts exclusively (not really how he wanted to dress, but still it’s not girly clothes lmaoo) he Definitely just took a pair of scissors to his hair and just cut it short himself, probably in a public bathroom with some scissors he stole who knows.

Batty’s also a trans guy (I am not immune to trans boy having trans guy mentor gender envy) he grew up in such a weird environment (being an orphanage scientific experiments were conducted in) that he Really didn’t have the freedom to do anything for himself until he was like 16, when he left. He never presented femininely, not exactly by choice but he didn’t dislike it. He kind of just continued to present masculinely as he grew up, but this time socially transitioning as well. He realized he was trans younger than that, but probably didn’t do anything on account of “yeah he Wanted to be a boy, but he didn’t know he could just Do that” until he was out on his own.

Wanda is a trans woman! I think she would probably have had more of a neutral environment like Dexter, not really transphobic, but not really super supportive either. I think she would’ve found out when she was a preteen, like 11-13 ish. I don’t really have much for Wanda’s parents, but I kinda wanna think up something for them, I think it would be interesting if it was like, she had a lot of siblings/really busy parents that they just didn’t rlly remember which one she was anyway so she kinda flew under the radar with being trans anyway.

They’re non binary (they/he), there’s really not much to their backstory in the ways of trans things, I think their parents would be supportive, but I also think they were SUPER OVERLY SHELTERING like to an extreme degree, so any sort of love was probably held over his head to make him anytime he wanted to leave them or what have you. Idk if they woulduse their support as leverage. But maybe.

Hey, this is a bit of topic, but since we mentioned Otto recently, I just realized that Otto wasn’t actually there when Viserys ordered the Maesters to cut Aemma open ( and outed himself as the monster he truly is ) so all he was informed of was probably that the Queen had simply passed in childbirth. What I’m trying to say is that this fact makes his decision to marry Alicent to the king a lot less horrible that if he had known the truth.

Because if you look at Otto’s character as a whole he isn’t all that terrible ( for example compared to Tywin Lannister). I always found his decision to marry Alicent to the king slightly out of character until I realized that all he saw from his perspective was a man who had lost his wife ( like he himself had ) and grieved her a lot, again because he probably didn’t know that all this time Viserys was just feeling guilt for having murdered his wife. So in a way I can understand why he would look at Viserys, a man he saw as a caring father to his only daughter and loving and devoted husband to Aemma ( as far as Otto knew ) and thought; he’s husband material for Alicent.

Especially if you compare that to the husband material bar in Westeros which is as low as can be.

Plus if he had caught wind of Viserys supposed idea to marry Alicent to Deamon in order to put an end to Otto and Deamon’s feud I can see why he thought that Viserys would be the better option.

Or am I being to optimistic about his motivations? 😅

I think I’d say that is a charitable read. Otto was still there for a good chunk of viserys life with aemma. Since he was hand for two kings before him. He may not have known the inner working of their relationship, but he must have saw how many times aemma was pregnant. Now just based on the little we get of aemma, she probably felt like it was her obligation to give viserys a boy. But I think otto is a very smart man. I feel he had to know that was not going to end well (healthy wise that is) for aemma.

That being said, and perhaps this is me giving him too much credit, but I don’t think he thought viserys would stand so headstrong on his decision of naming Rhaenyra heir. Let’s be real, viserys is an extremely wishy washy, reactionary person. Otto probably thought he would be no different this time. It doesn’t negate otto putting his daughter in that precarious situation to begin with. But I do wonder how gung-ho he would’ve been about sending Alicent to viserys if he knew that their (the Hightower/targ) kids would end up being ignored and neglected, and Aegon would be named till after the fact. Bc we even see in ep 3 before and during the hunt, when he is talking to Hobert, that he is starting to read the tea leaves a bit. He said that he doesn’t think the king sees it that way (in terms of naming Aegon heir). And all Hobert says is that it is Otto’s job to change his mind. Hence him offering that nyra marry Aegon. In ep 4, we see him contemplating if he should even tell viserys about the nyra and daemon news. And then of course the rain scene with Alicent.

I said this before that while I do think otto knows what he was doing mentioning nyra could put the kids to the sword, and how Alicent would react to that. I do also think he was being serious and was worried for his daughter now being alone. I think that is what makes otto so interesting. He is manipulative, and maniacal but I do think love is there for Alicent. As fucked as as it is. It the same way I feel about Alicent with her kids naming Aegon.

Like I do kind of believe him when he’s like “but I made you queen??? Isn’t that great???”. Bc when you grow up the way he has (the way Alicent has) working your way up that ladder to positions like the hand and queen is considered ‘a win’. But that does not account for all the trauma he put his daughter through.

Favorite manga panel?: This is like evil, there's too much choice. Like I LOVE kubo's use of negative space so I adore so many of those impact panels. I think Kyoraku Shunsui's Bankai reveal page slays cause of the paint texture. Rose's star blast wound panel. Ichigo's vasto lorde form reveal. Soooo many panels in the Unohanna vs. Zaraki fight like her bankai reveal. I'm going to keep this in mind when I do my re-read after the anime ends and then come back to this kxjhgkjdhfg.

Most heart-wrenching death?: Unohana. I think it was sad for the characters but mostly for ME, cause she served every ounce of cunt and then died. I always say, if Kubo is to finally abandon his habit of reviving/bringing characters back, I hope he stills brings her back no matter what. Tousen's is up there.

Favorite arc and why? Soul Society: The Sneak Entry Arc, hands down. AND NOT JUST CAUSE YUMICHIKA IS INTRODUCED, it's the arc that has the most fights I'm interested in, the most development for some characters and others get to shine. I do definitely think nostalgia is a big reason too because I think that the first time I ever saw Bleach and it's where I got to in Bleach before dropping off when I was a kid. But I do love it.

Favorite movie and why?: I think Memories of Nobody, maybe Hell Verse? Because I think they had good stories and I remember being really into either it was the animation or emotion of Memories of Nobody. I think Hell Verse, I liked the animation. But honestly, I don't remember much about the movies and I watched them only last year.

Favorite piece of merch that you own? I think it's my Yumichika tote bag? But I love alot of my merch, and especially my Ichigo figure my friend's boyfriend won for me in one of those remote crane games (and it got lost to the transit void and we'd all given up hope).

Do you have any tattoos? Yes. Yumichika cat tattoo by @ kiera_tattoo (no pics cause there's something we need to tweak when I can next get a trip to London ;-; ), but I love it!! still thinking about getting a panel tattoo or sword but atm not Looking for one.

If you’re a fic writer, who do you write for? I don't write fic much but it is Yumichika/Ikkaku but usually just musing on how a reveal might look or their past. It's not really shippy.

If you are an artist, do you have a favorite character to draw?: I don't do fanart much, so I've only drawn Yumichika.

If you could be in the Bleach universe would you be a soul reaper, visored, human, quincy, espada or arrancar?: God I'd probably be a human who sits at home not questioning buildings getting exploded.

All right, this has been a long time coming.

The criticism that Tri has received is ridiculous. Let’s face it most of the criticism is against yeeting the 02 newer digidestined.

And then you have the complainers who attack the personalities of the Digidestined because they are ‘not true to character’ or ‘it’s character assassination’

Saying stuff like that just drives me nuts.

I believe that a lot of people say this for the sake of continuity between the series for consistency. But in doing so They miss something so obvious it’s easy to just condemn it instead and walk by it.

So what do I mean?

That, for the most part people do not stay the same forever. Don’t get me wrong personality wise the continuum stops with Tri otherwise they are the same, but it’s not a matter of personality or character consistency.

No, this is a matter of teenage adolescence.

We saw a different side of the Digidestined that I am very grateful for. With all the angst and emotion of the teenage years it was great to see the Digidestined at a degree for the worse.

Let’s kind of list a couple shall we?

Taichi instead of being headstrong is wishy washy at times, an ass at other times and just comes across as unsure.

Yamato is cold and aloof, jagged and sharp. Not much different honestly. Maybe a little bit colder though.

Sora is…how can I put this lightly? Emotionally supportive but emotionally unstable at the same time even though she seems like the most stable one at times.

Koushiro is so analytical to the breaking point of having a melt down and he has a couple times especially prior to the reboot.

Joe is so distracted like crazy but not really changed that much. He just wants to go back to the real life and who can blame him?

Mimi is a straight up savage who forces her way into getting what she wants without being considerate of others. Even when she thinks of being considerate it’s still her feelings primarily the source of offense.

Takeru is more evolved I should say, but he lies and messes around far more than he should. But again he’s a teenager. We all have to learn.

Hikari is developing even more as an empath but struggles more to release her feelings in a healthy way which triggers physical distress like unleashing Cthulhu type monsters from twisted digivolutions.

Meiko is everything you could expect her to be. She’s been isolated, socially awkward but people have some kind of strange expectation from her to just jump on the same level As the other digidestined as far as personality or likability. She is a defeatist for sure but I enjoy her growth and regression back and forth this whole time.

As for the story I thought it was good, not great, but they left out some information we have to figure out for ourselves or make inferences. Gee I wonder when In the digimon adventure series we did NOT have to do that? Mystery isn’t it?

I also wondered about the digivolution fight choices as far as the level they were at. They are either going way too lax like champions fighting ultimate meicrackmon or way too op sending three or two Megas against one. (Rip machinedramon.)

But again the teenage years are unstable. It makes sense as the Digidestined find out who they are they fluctuate between the levels. They were after all afraid to hurt meicrackmon but ruthless against everyone else.

The part I liked most about Tri were the relationships. You could see how they naturally interacted with each other and unlike some of the digimon digivolutions they were NOT choppy (looking at you plastic gattomon).

For example and this is not the takari fanatic enthusiast within me speaking (ok, maybe it is) I enjoyed watching the takari chemistry in dialogue but also body language wise. Don’t ask me how many times they were there for each other.

But also aside from all of that I really enjoyed how for the most part each digidestined interacted with Meiko. And although she is normal and dare I say a bit bland it’s that blandness that really makes the personalities of the Digidestined pop.

Takeru’s heart to heart about Patamon’s infection.

Taichi telling her to shut up but apologize and lead/handhold her along.

Yamato saying a sharp word and the man performing a daring action to express those words.

Mimi’s dress up uniform and encouragement.

Koushiro grilling her about information to save the world.

Meiko relating with Sora about a digimon partner that won’t play nice.

Hikari bringing all of it together helping her understand her place with gentleness, tact, and just reading the atmosphere and between the lines.

You see? Digimon adventure is good if you can look past a few things. And it’s really good if you decipher everything that is going in like I did.

In second place is the relationship with digimon on full display, each digidestined experiencing the negativity or ‘opposite’ of their crests and overcoming the negativity to unleash the power of Megas. (That deserves its own post. More on that later.)

I could go on and on even about the vagueness of both homeostasis and yggdrassil being expressed by their representatives but I wanted to make this post about the Digidestined.
