Worthwhile (click for clarity)

I think a lot of people are already aware, but I LOVE it when I make Jazz tall, long, and creepy. Something about the thought of her being like a model, beautiful and tall, but when people look at her for too long and go, ‘wait a minute, is a real person supposed to look like that…?’ is really delightful to me XD
I actually made this a while ago, but I could never find an opportunity to post it…
Image description:
Panel 1 has an image of Jason and Jazz standing together. However, instead of looking normal, Jazz is faceless, scribbled over with black and looks very elongated and unnatural. She leans over a brightly smiling Jason like a monster. Jason has his arm on around her waist, while a clawed, withered hand rests on his shoulder, presumably Jazz’s.
Damian narrates: My brother recently got a girlfriend.
Panel 2 has an image of Damian’s terrified face. He looks extremely unsettled and frightened. He continues narrating throughout the entire comic.
D: I think she’s the most terrifying thing I’ve seen.
Panel 3 has him standing in the background as a little chibi, shocked as Stephanie and Tim approach Jazz without any hesitation, seemingly accepting her “horrifying” visage. Jazz’s face cannot be seen, only her long red hair.
D: Though no one else seems to notice but me.
Panel 4 has an image of Damian flinching backwards as Jazz’s clawed hand reaches for him. He looks terrified of her. Jazz’s body cannot be seen, only the hand.
D: But even if she’s horrifying
Panel 5 has Damian ducking downwards, closing his eyes, as Jazz’s hand finally reaches him, patting his head. Her hand is surprisingly not scary-looking, but instead, human.
Panel 6 has Damian looking shocked and confused, reaching up to touch his head as a little chibi in the background as Jazz slides out of view, nothing being seen but her red hair, as she leaves.
D: *continuing the narration from panel 3* She has never hurt any of us.
Panel 7 has an image of Jazz’s back again, her skin still being scribbled over and with only her long red hair being shown. She looms over Jason, who’s beaming up at her, supposedly completely oblivious to her terrifying looks.
D: So if you chose someone like her, ahki…
Panel 8 has Jason and Jazz together again, noses touching as they smile at each other, completely wrapped up in one another. There is finally a glimpse of Jazz’s face and she looks normal, smiling happily as Jason beams at her. She is also of a more normal height, although still taller than Jason.
D: Then surely, there is something worthwhile about her….?

man I am sorry to start chewing on stuff on a shitpost but I think about this scene sometimes and I started spitballing to myself and, well,
Mikage looks and sounds bored/disgusted/dismissive when he says this, at odds with the content of what he's saying, that Tatsuya is a "truly good person". And we also see that Tatsuya really isn't a good person; not a monster, just kind of a shallow jerk. He likes Wakaba, but he wants her to be the one to make the move. He wants her to be the one giving love, and himself to be the one accepting it. He assumes that she must love him, despite him never actually doing anything to merit it.
Even in their little-kid hijinks, when Wakaba proclaims him her Onion Prince, he's just confused and unresponsive. He doesn't try to defend her or comfort her. (Granted, they're four or whatever, but he's already not earning the role of being somebody's "prince" by taking the initiative to protest against Wakaba's bullies; even when he's Assigned Prince By Wakaba, he fumbles it.) We're probably not meant to love the fact that Wakaba is back on her bullshit with Saionji (albeit with a different power dynamic), but we're also meant to see that she's way too good for what's-his-nuts here.
He's neither outstandingly good nor exceptionally bad. He's just kind of an immature, stupid teenage boy. So what's this exchange about?
And I think my interpretation ends up being that "you are a truly good person" here isn't a moral judgement. Mikage isn't saying he's a good person sincerely or ironically. He's saying Tatsuya fits in with Akio's system. Tatsuya is unquestioningly, and unfailingly, trying to hold up the prescribed roles of "prince and princess", "boy and girl", "powerful and dependent". He's decided he likes Wakaba because they conveniently knew each other as children, and assumes she must feel the same way, that she'll delightedly fall into his arms -- even that she'll plead with him for his attention and strive to "win" him. He is the prize by virtue of being "the [male] prince". And he fantasizes that her error in not doing what she's supposed to do and being his childhood-friend-turned-lover trope will come back to hurt her, and he'll be the gracious savior who corrects her and lets her be happy at last, but always holding that over her.
His failure isn't his own, it's that Wakaba isn't falling in line the way she's supposed to. Tatsuya himself is fitting perfectly into Ohtori's/Akio's mold. He never goes deeper because there's nothing deeper there; Tatsuya has the inner depth of a puddle on the sidewalk.
What are the Black Rose duelists? They're "bad kids" in some way. Not in the sense that they're delinquents (though Kozue plays with this), but because they're somehow failing to fit into the system, and they sense it, even if they refuse to consciously recognize why. When Mikage pushes them, they reach a point of breakdown where they face whatever deficiency makes them unable to perform their roles the way they're supposed to, and that's what gives them their power as duelists. They let their anger and grief and jealousy about whatever is broken drive them.
The Black Rose duelists can't fit into the system like the mob, but they also lack the ability to make themselves exceptional* as the Student Council duelists do. So unlike the Student Council duelists, who (at least initially) see the dueling system as a way to seize the power that they want, the Black Rose duelists want to break the system -- not to remove it altogether, but to remake it in their own image so that they become it. If they can't force themselves to fit within the limits of the system, they'll instead warp the system to fit them -- just as Mikage isn't really trying to destroy the idea of a Rose Bride or of a power structure, he's trying to make it into what he wants/needs it to be.
Tatsuya isn't failing to fit into the system, though. His failure here isn't internal; it's external, in that Wakaba hasn't correctly fallen in line with the role she's been given. He's angry and upset that she's deviating from her half of the script.
Tatsuya himself fits Akio's prescribed system perfectly; by Ohtori's definition, he's a "good person". Mikage wants to alter that system, and to do so he needs the people who can neither fit nor transcend* the system; he needs "bad people". The Black Rose duelists are ultimately driven by obsessive jealousy and inferiority (Kanae toward Anthy, Kozue toward Miki, Shiori toward Juri, Tsuwabuki toward Touga, Keiko toward Nanami, Wakaba toward Utena). Tatsuya isn't jealous of Wakaba, nor does he feel inferior to her. If anything he believes himself superior, the one she should be grateful to for choosing her. Wakaba is the inferior, and she's not acting like it.
The path he must take doesn't lie through Nemuro Memorial Hall, because it lies through Ohtori.
I think Mikage's coolness and disgust here is just because Tatsuya has wasted his time; there's nothing here for Mikage to work with. I don't think he actually cares that Tatsuya is kind of a shithead. But the choice for his rejection to be framed in terms of morality reinforces that what's good for Ohtori-as-Akio's-structure doesn't equate to goodness or individual wholeness, and it foreshadows Akio's own nature.
ionno just wanted to hash that out and articulate it for myself I guess
*Also obviously the Student Council duelists/Utena are not actually transcending the system or exceptional on that level, but they perceive themselves and are perceived as others by such; that their exceptionalism proves the rule is of course by design.

Izuku Midoriya who starts knitting as physical therapy after his last battle. Who by the time he’s a teacher has insane hand dexterity and is ambidextrous. Whose friends all have their own knit versions of their own merch. Who knits both you and himself little braided rings you both use as place holders until you marry. Which is extremely helpful cause he can just keep remaking his when it falls off without his knowledge or breaks
Izuku Midoriya, who always feels absolutely horrible when he does loose or damage one of these knit rings. And so he spends a few hours when he gets home wrecking you on extremely skilled fingers while whispering compliments and apologies in your ear. “You forgive me don’t you, baby?” Knowing you can’t see straight let alone form works.
Katsuki Bakugou, who despite being an absolute monster with Spicey food , cannot handle even a little sour. Who claims it’s just nasty , and won’t touch one with his friends around. Who falls victim when you give him a war head in place of a regular hard candy and whole face turns red just to twists in shock and betrayal before running out the room to spit it and and definitely not puke.
Katsuki Bakugou who’s a spiteful bastard, and so the next time you have sex, in the middle of moan you find lemon juice being squeezed into your mouth. Shock causing you to yelp and the juice to leak out your mouth. It’s okay though because despite hating the taste, he finds that it’s not so bad when he’s licking it off your throat.
Shoto Todoroki, who’s dense but not nearly as much as people think he is. It took a him a while to figure out he didn’t just really want to be your friend, and then stop ignoring you after the fact. But otherwise very aware of social ques and habits. Who was literally media trained as a child, but he just thinks it’s funnier to blurt things out that should probably stay private. Who acts very lost sometimes but only when it’s beneficial and gets people to leave him alone. And who after getting into a relationship doesn’t do it in private, because he refuses to lie or anything close to you.
Shoto Todoroki who despite not liking to play dense with you in day to day life is more then willing to use it against you in bed “oh right here ? Did that feel good? I’m sorry I can’t quite understand you , love?”
Eijiro Kirishima, who’s a tank of a man , the epitome of typical masculinity out side of his tender personality. Who also eats up trash reality television. Big brother, real house wives, keeping up with the kardashians, toddlers and tiaras, and the holy grail- Jersey Shore. He who has matching meatball shirts with you and that same pair of studded out sunglasses. And who because of said tv shows, has the nastiest reads in the book. A list shit talker when no one’s looking.
Eijiro Kirishima, who comes home one day to see you in the skimpiest outfit known to man, covered in leopard print. And finds himself more horny than he’s ever been in his entire life. Who is in the apartment for maybe 2 minutes before he has you face down, bent over the couch arm.
Denki Kaminari, who’s is actually a little dense and struggles with numbers and letters, due to dyslexia they caught late, but loves to consume literature. Who is might as well be a walking audible commercial. Who is an avid Colleen Hoover hater. Who eats up all sorts of books from biographies to the most jaw dropping smut books ever. Who because of his vast online book collection, is actually really smart just about oddly specific things and people.
Denki Kaminari who drags you into the bedroom because he’s trying to figure out a really oddly worded position in a book, and lets you reap the benefits of his confusion.at least when he gets it right, for the first half it’s mostly maneuvering around each other while listening to the same part of the book in utter confusion.

I was skimming your monster hunter reader posts, and now I’m curious. Reaper Idia seems to kind of waffle between wanting reader to die so they can be together and not wanting reader to die? If that’s the case, how would he react if he ever had to collect the reader’s soul after a monster hunting job gone wrong? Would he be upset, or would he be relieved he doesn’t have to share anymore? Thanks!
Cw: Death, Obsession/Posession
I’m actually glad someone noticed it!! I make some (not all of them, a lot of the cast genuinely believe you being a monster is best and don’t feel guilty at all) of them experience some sort of guilt for wanting MH!Reader to be a monster, but ultimately, they mostly lean towards it being the best outcome.
Deuce and Silver are the few who don’t think it is, but go along with everyone elses decision. And of course Rollo vehemently disagrees.
But, Idia is the only one whose opinion goes back and forth all the time. On one hand, death is brutal, whether quick and painless or long and excruciating, when you’re dead it’s all the same, cruel. But, he’s never known the souls he collects, not on a personal level anyway. He knows that death itself is supposedly a depressing topic in the human world, but it’s his whole life, so it doesn’t bother him. But then you come along… and his views have a swaying opinion.
He doesn’t won’t you to die in pain, but neither does he want you to die painlessly and wake up in the after-life in despair over your sudden death. He doesn’t want that at all… But in the after-life, with him forever… He knows he’s a hypocrite for saying death is cruel, and then secretly wishing to not let you pass on.
Having eternity with you, his favorite person— no… being in existence is a dream. But a person after death, is different from when they were alive… which…
Which is why when he as to collect your soul, he feels so conflicted.
When you look down at your body in your new transparent form, you’re in shock. Everyone is when it happens, he’s witnessed it thousands of times. This is the only time he’ll comfort someone over it though. His hand on your shoulder, letting you slump against him at your despair. It starts with sorrow until he’s guiding you on. You both watch as the monsters gather around, attempting to collect a soul that’s being held by Idia.
Maybe that’s why he quickly took hold of you, so they couldn’t bring you back… Maybe…
You watch Rollo's face when he receives through letter from the monsters themselves of your passing. It’s Grim, the way he falls in on himself like he’s lost everything. But to be fair, Idia knows that he has lost it all, because Rollo’s everything is holding hands with him right now. He stops you from attempting to comfort him, he won’t see or hear any of it anyway. (No… the truth is if you do, you might stay a ghost here forever, and he… doesn't want that.)
When you’ve walked through the entirety of your life, and the moment to pass on has finally come, you smile at him.
But Idia’s not smiling.
When you leave, the light is sliced, Idias head rested on your shoulder as he apologizes.
“I… don’t want that.”
Summary: He starts conflicted with having you live and die when you’re alive. When you finally do die, he’ll feel incredibly sorry for your loss… but it’ll ultimately be overpowered by his love for you when you move. That same love will be what has you spending an eternity in his world.

ren is a werewolf- but not a typical depiction of some big dangerous monster, more just, like, a really big dog, like a great dane.
the transformation is kind of painful but mostly just an inconvenience when he's in the middle of making something and suddenly he's Dog. he's had many many years to get used to it though and has several mechanisms to help him get through it.
usually he walks off though the portal to doc's base and collapses into his lap under the full moon. he can't say anything but they've sort of figured out a code by now (two barks for no, one barks for yes ect. -as well as more recently one of those button voice things made in redstone via custom note blocks).
the improved hearing is pretty good- unless gem's got her hands on a new horn, or mumbo's making a new noise machine, or grian's base gets blown up by a creeper and he calls out in agony in a voice so oud ren can hear it from the other side of the serve. actually maybe the improved hearing is a bit of a curse. comes in handy with creepers though. anyway werewolf ren propaganda!!

random riordanverse teeth headcanons for funsies:
actually starting out with not a hc - Percy's teeth aren't straight! He mentions in Sea of Monsters it as one of his insecurities ("[...] or the fact that my two front teeth weren’t perfectly even [...]") I just think that's fun and cute for him
Nico, Hazel, and Percy can all regenerate their teeth. Nico and Hazel for Hades/Pluto kid reasons and Percy for shark reasons. Percy's just regrow normally but Nico and Hazel have to willfully use their powers to grow it back. They can grow other people's teeth back too if they want to though.
Nico has fangs. Technically not "real" fangs but his canine teeth are just unusually sharp to the point where they look like little fangs. Hazel and Bianca perhaps can also have fangs as a treat :3 Hades kids with fangs...
Jason has fake teeth! Like three or so. Unfortunately humans are not built for biting random stuff super hard all the time and he sacrificed a couple teeth because of it.
(If he feels like it he can ask Nico or Hazel to grow his teeth back for him. It probably doesn't last long. Maybe one day he can get fancy fake teeth.)
Lacy has braces. Piper perhaps also had braces when she was younger and probably hated them.
Walt getting fangs when Anubis is present could be very fun.
Alex with fangs is also fun <3
Niche one but i like to theme both Lacy and Ida around rabbits, so both of them having prominent front teeth would be very cute.
Demeter kids with snake fangs! Snakes are sacred to Demeter!
Snakes are also sacred to Apollo, as are wolves/dogs. Dogs are also sacred to Hecate. Many options for funky teeth.
Will was born without wisdom teeth, cause that's a thing that can happen. He's just never gonna grow 'em and ergo never need them removed.
okay thats all i've got ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
#pjo#riordanverse#percy jackson#nico di angelo#hazel levesque#jason grace#lacy pjo#walt stone#alex fierro#ida pjo#will solace#< all im gonna tag. Piper's mention is brief enough that i dont feel like she warrants tagging here#Alex gets one though in part cause i wanna see more art of her with fangs 👉👈#me giving all my faves fangs <3#headcanons#hcs

Hi lovely :) can I request another Eddie X reader?
Maybe something where they sit in Eddie’s trailer while the power is off from a storm telling scary stories and reader ends up getting scared?
I appreciate you requesting so much!
The storm outside had been raging for at least an hour, rain hammering against the thin metal walls of the trailer while thunder rattled the windows. The power had gone out almost immediately after the storm rolled in, leaving only the occasional flicker of lightning to cast eerie shadows across the living room.
Eddie had been delighted by the blackout, claiming it was “the perfect setting for a good ol’ fashioned horror story session.” You weren’t sure why you agreed to it—maybe because it was better than sitting in silence, or maybe because, despite the way the wind howled outside, you felt safe with Eddie.
He sat across from you on the couch, a flashlight in his hand casting harsh, flickering light under his chin as he grinned.
“Alright, sweetheart, let’s set the scene,” he began, voice low and dramatic. “A couple, stranded in a cabin in the middle of the woods, trapped by a storm not unlike this one.” He wiggled his fingers at you like some cartoonish ghost before continuing. “No power, no way to call for help. And outside, lurking just beyond the trees, a creature—”
“Oh, come on,” you interrupted with a skeptical laugh, hugging your knees to your chest. “A creature? That’s so vague.”
“Oh, so now you’re a horror expert?” Eddie scoffed, crossing his arms. “Fine, Miss ‘That’s So Vague,’ how about something a little more real?” He leaned forward, eyes dark with amusement. “Ever hear of The Hook Man?”
You rolled your eyes. “The urban legend? Please, that one’s been around forever.”
Eddie smirked. “Yeah, but did you know there was a guy a few towns over who actually fit the description? They say he escaped from Pennhurst and—”
A massive crack of thunder shook the trailer, making you jump. The lights of Eddie’s flashlight wobbled as you instinctively grabbed onto his arm.
Eddie barked out a laugh. “Oh-ho! Not so brave now, huh?”
You shot him a glare, but your grip on his arm didn’t loosen. “That was just the thunder,” you muttered, though your heart was still pounding.
Eddie tilted his head at you, a devilish grin stretching across his face. “Mmm, or maybe it was The Hook Man outside, tapping on the trailer, looking for his next victim.” He reached out with his free hand and poked your side, making you flinch.
“Eddie!” you smacked his arm, feeling the warmth of embarrassment creep up your neck. “Not funny!”
He chuckled but shifted closer, his teasing expression softening a little. “Hey, I’ll protect you from The Hook Man,” he said, voice a touch more sincere. “Or, you know, any other terrifying monsters that may or may not be lurking outside in the storm.”
You hesitated for a second before mumbling, “You better.”
Eddie grinned. “Scout’s honor.” He held up three fingers in a mock salute, then nudged you gently. “C’mere, scaredy-cat.”
You rolled your eyes but let him pull you into his side. With the storm still raging outside and the trailer shrouded in darkness, you figured being close to Eddie wasn’t the worst place to be.
“Just don’t tell anyone I got scared,” you muttered.
Eddie smirked, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “Oh, sweetheart, that’s going to the grave.”
Another boom of thunder rattled the trailer, and you tensed. Eddie squeezed your shoulder, letting out a quiet chuckle.
“Man, I wish the power would stay out forever,” he mused, resting his chin on top of your head.
You huffed. “I don’t.”
“Yeah,” he said, tightening his hold around you. “But then you wouldn’t have an excuse to cuddle me, would you?”
You groaned, and he laughed, the sound warm and familiar even as the storm raged on outside.

I imagine Odysseus be like ‘’no this one mine’’ to the crew when the sirens get there tails cut off and Odysseus takes Poseidon somewhere private and that how Poseidon get pregnant
Anon, do you have any idea what you’ve done? My mind is always in dark murky waters with these two. But now it has gone deeper! Anon, you have a mind I think I’ll love.
The crew watched their Captain drag away a siren that looked completely different from the others. It looked like the Queen of Ithaca but with a mix of the god of the seas… Did their Captain found the god hot too all this time?
I can totally see the crew confused as to why their Captain took an interest with that particular siren. They have no clue that it was Poseidon. Though, Eurylochus thinks that their Captain was pissed off at the siren for making a mockery of his beloved wife.
After a few hours (with very suspicious noises), their Captain comes back, with large scratches on his back and… is that gold at the corner of his mouth(?) with a big grin and he exclaimed “Men, we’re going home!”
And then there’s Poseidon… who knew the man he had tried to teach ruthlessness to was actually a total monster in bed?

P'Den held a space on twt last week wherein he answered questions about the four shows he's currently involved in - Zomvivor, The Next Prince, Khemjira and Love Upon A Time - and shared stories from on set of the different shows, about the actors, about his work in general as well as his methods etc. Since I've kinda become a Domundi girlie and follow P'Den on twt, I thought I'd share what he talked about on here ✌
Disclaimer: not a native Thai speaker, still learning 🙏
He spoke Thai most of the time so I'm mostly translating here but some questions were answered in English and then summarized in Thai so those parts I tried to consolidate to a degree. This entire post is not a 1:1 transcription or translation but I tried to stick as close to his word choices as possible, while still writing from a third person perspective. Oh, and I also sorted everything into four parts according to which show he's talking about instead of following the space chronologically.
Cheers, have fun, and do feel free to ask me any follow-up questions!
(Full post under the cut for length.)
To keep things concise (oh the irony after that previous sentence 🤡), the four shows will be abbreviated as ZVV, TNP, KJR and LUAT from here on out.

🧟♂️ "Spoiler about SanNon please, Kru🤣" (San and Non are Zee and Nunew's characters)
He likes seeing people's guesses from the teaser and that there's been a bunch of people who got close to what actually happens in the script. Are we gonna see them fight? ZVV is about raw human instinct coming to light when faced with disaster. The disaster or monster is a representation of a crisis or of problems within society. ZVV is set at a university so, once there's a zombie outbreak, how do the students deal with the problem?
🧟♂️ "On the set of ZVV, were there actual ghosts?"
ZVV was filmed mostly on a university campus, though there are some scenes outside of that setting. [In comparison to the set of KJR] they didn't really have any ghost encounters on set. But people were still afraid sometimes because they often filmed at night. For example, they shot in a library that was closed for renovation so there hadn't been any people in there forever. Or sometimes they shot on campus at night and had to turn off all the lights to set up the lighting. The only ghost encounters where when he'd run into some the extras in the restrooms, especially when he'd be lost in thought, after the extras were already in full zombie makeup. In that case, he'd be screaming sometimes.
🧟♂️ Talking about workshops
Lots of animal exercises where everyone would get assigned a different animal, observe that animal's behavior, and then play as that animal. Some human behaviors are already associated with animals, like 'mischievous like a monkey' or 'furious like a tiger'. Taking those animalistic sides into ZVV made the actors open up to their own instincts.
🧟♂️ "Were there any challenges in filming ZVV? Like anything you'd say was hard to film?"
There was one scene, one sequence really with many small scenes, that took 3 Qs to film! It was a big scene with effects, action, filming with special equipment, rain that had to bet set up. Plus the amount of actors being almost the entire label, maybe 60-70 people in the scene in total. And Aof and Kla wanted it to be perfect as it's one of the major scenes in the show. It was tiring for the actors, too, of course. But they did it and can be really proud of the final product.
🧟♂️ "Development of ZeeNew's acting from ZVV to TNP"
He says they were already good to begin with, ZVV just required a bit of adjustment for them since P'Den is one for realism. Not just them but all the actors had to train 'physical' with Om and Fuang - using one's body, combat scenes, letting one's body respond to emotions, movement. His part was more focused on the script and the character's inner works. ZVV was also intentionally filmed like a movie, making the acting choices really authentic in those situations. Many times, he wouldn't give the actors any choices beforehand, unlike during filming a series usually goes, where he'd go over the blocking, choreography, cues etc. Instead they explained the situation the characters were in, told the actors where the camera(s) was/were, and how far they could go in terms of blocking - but the rest was left up to the actors to go free and explore their own choices. So for Zee and New, at the very beginning, they were used to being given choices or having choices thought-out ahead of time. But once they met with P'Den, he tried to have them be in the present moment as much as possible and make choices according to what their characters feel at the time. He could tell they weren't used to it, but used to getting more input, so he met them halfway at first, giving them some help but still encouraging them to find and explore by themselves. Once they started TNP, they were much more used to his method and developed to be actors that are more free. They'd still ask for his feedback on their own choices sometimes, even though P'Den says they already thought like their characters and understood them well.
🧟♂️ Air date
Coming in the 4th quarter of 2025, as announced. He implied again that it will be aired on Netflix. It's still in editing, considering the CG, but almost done. We'll see the Domundi boys in roles that they don't usually get to play or are a departure from previous ones, like getting to do action and dramatic scenes for some that routinely play comedic roles or trying out comedic scenes for those that come from drama. There are many flavors in this series.

👑 "Does TNP still have any surprises, wow moments, stuff to leave us stunned, something that fans would never see coming? Like something we'd never expect to see lol"
So many! TNP is just The Most in his life so far. Everyone's using every skill they have and still learning new things for the show. There are scenes from the novel and new scenes, there are many grand scenes and special situations. The actors had to learn horse riding, fencing, ballroom dancing. There are many surprises that weren't in the pilot and characters that haven't been introduced yet.
👑 "First impression after working with P'Zee and Nong Nunew ☺️ Thank you, Kru Den, for being so passionate about TNP!"
He first met ZNN for ZVV and is happy to have met them. From an outsider's perspective they look utterly perfect, he had no clue what their real selves would be like. Zee seemed mature and prudent and Nunew's the miracle child who can do anything. Once he got to know them though, both of them still seem really young. They have so much enthusiasm for work, ask a lot of questions, want their work to turn out well, are down to earth and easy to talk to. They're really lovely Nongs to him but really all of Domundi's actors that he's worked with are lovely. He's never felt troubled when working with any of them because they all take their responsibilities seriously. ZeeNew work so much, he sees that they're working every day, yet they always do their homework. He never has to tell them which scenes precede and follow the scene they're currently filming, never has to tell them what their character is doing or feeling. He only has to help remind them of certain points or suggesting choices and then lets them play, sometimes letting them suggest choices themselves for him to decide which one would be most fitting, especially for difficult scenes. For New, that would be scenes where he has to cry right from the start of a scene. Playing music or talking about his character's feelings gets him there. Similarly for Zee, talking about what his character's been through gets him there. He's really happy to be working with this label's kids.
👑 Talking about workshops
The emphasis was on interpreting the script and finding the private moments of the characters and what they're like in those moments, what they think, want, are lacking. When they're with other people, what mask do they need to wear, who do they need to appear to be? TNP is about personas we need to portray in the world. It's Khanin's journey of suddenly finding himself to be a prince who needs to compete in the tradition of fencing, so he has to conduct himself differently depending on the individual. What is he like with his friends, with Charan, when faced with the public? Same goes for the other characters. They also improvised situations that aren't in the script, like filling in the parentheses to understand the course of events.
👑 "If you had to choose three words to describe the first episode of TNP Series, which ones would you use?👀"
Emotional. Roller. Coaster.
The first episode is always the establishing one, the one that explains what a given series is gonna feel like. So of course the different flavors we'll see in the entire 14 episodes of TNP, are all gonna be there in the first EP. No need to be afraid that the first EP's gonna be plastered in exposition. We're getting all the flavors right off the bat. Whatever we assume must be in TNP, we'll get in appetizer format in EP 1. All crew members that got to watch it, and P'Aof too, said that EP 1 has the vibe of a foreign production, kinda like Heartstopper, kinda like Red, White & Royal Blue, kinda like Bridgerton. There are gonna be lots of emotions, twists and turns, a bit of romance, a bit of comedy, a bit of drama, action, royalty. It's an introductory episode with its own depth and style.
👑 More than one person asked about Itthi, a beloved character in the novels
P'Den asked P'Aof for permission earlier to address this. About Itt - TNP has a script advisor, Kru Aumm, who's a talented screenwriter known for Analog Squad, for example, and has worked as a script advisor for Netflix Thailand and GDH. P'Den has worked with her before. Though P'Den is the acting coach for TNP and thus has nothing to do with the script but he knows that Kru Aumm advised about Itt and Wetid. In order not to have the cast size get too big and because these characters have really similar functions (in the story), she advised to merge them into one person, who would serve both Wetid and Itt's purposes. This was also done to tighten up the script. Of course they didn't want to cut too much from the plot that would make the main plot go down. So both characters have been combined into one character, Wetid, that is played by Most Witsarut. His acting skills are great, he's a Directing and Acting graduate as well and P'Den already knew and has worked with him before. As Wetid he'll be fierce and Charan's helper in lots of instances related to the main plot. P'Den saw questions about Itt come up again and again, some people thinking we'd just have to wait to see him in the series, so he asked P'Aof if he may announce that there's no Itthi in the series but that he's been merged into one character with Wetid.
👑 Someone asked about the photo of ZNN napping and cuddling on set of TNP that P'Den shared on twt
It's obvious that, once they need to change scenes, different people would disperse all over the place to get dressed, get their hair and make-up done, and read their own scripts. But these two get together - helping each other memorizing lines, rehearsing by themselves so it'll be faster and easier once they're on set, playing with each other like we've seen in photos. If there's time to rest, they'll play around together, teasing each other back and forth. If they're tired, they'll hug or sit on each other's lap. Sometimes, if they're too lazy to walk onto the set, they'll carry each other onto set. You'd think P'Den would be used to it by now but he still isn't. There's always something new to observe. Most of the time, it's probably New trying to annoy Zee, Zee teasing him back, New acting sulky and then Zee making it up to him. And then they're cuddling (while lying down). It would go something like that. They play with, comfort, and take care of each other all the time. If New gets tired, Zee would get to him even before a crew member. Sometimes New gets water or tissues, for example, even before the crew could (for Zee). Sometimes they fight, just like any other people who are close to each other - same as P'Den and his boyfriend [legally wedded, actually 🙂↕️] sometimes tease each other or fight with each other for some spice in their relationship [his words, not mine 🤣 sounds familiar to zonzons, too, no?], and then hug it out, comfort each other, and call it a day.
(ZeeNuNew) are very professional. At first, he felt a lot of pressure to be working with them because they're already very successful and famous and he was afraid that he wouldn't get up to par with them. P'Den isn't the type of person who feels like he needs to prove himself, he just always does his job the best he can. So he studied the script and scenes extensively, prepared his own timeline for all the scenes and situations, in terms of how the relationships change and the characters grow and develop, so he'd have his own documents to refer back to when he's coaching them or when they have any questions.
The crew is amazing, too, everybody remembers the timeline of the story and helps with the continuity of acting, emotions, hair & make-up etc. Since everybody does their jobs to the best of their abilities and with lots of passion, he hopes that'll prove itself. Nothing is perfect, of course, like there still might be oversights or mistakes but everyone's trying really hard because they know we've been waiting for this for three years. P'Den understands (the frustration) because he himself is also a fan who's had to wait years for things he's a fan of. But they're all really trying to get it right for us.
👑 About the script + final words
There were lots of script adjustments from the novels, both to tighten up the plot and make it more intense as well as to add stuff to make it more fun. There are more scenes to show Khun Charan's and Khanin's skills, in terms of sports disciplines, action scenes, drama. But there's still lots of cute scenes like in the novels. Kru Aumm's team, from Netflix, was coordinating with the script writer all the time to make several instances more condensed while retaining Khanin and Charan's character growth without leaving anyone behind. We are definitely getting the issue of the royal houses vying (for the throne), family issues, issues related to trauma, some political issues that are gonna make it more modern to current day audiences that P'Den thinks we'll enjoy debating and analyzing for sure, various symbols [unsure if he means literal emblems and such or symbolism], beautiful luxurious costumes and locations with hidden meanings that we'll also likely enjoy analyzing.

👻 "Kru Den, which scene in KJR do you think has been the most difficult? Have you encountered a lot of obstacles while filming? I saw that during the latest Q it was raining too ㅜㅜ"
Filming's been going pretty smoothly since it's dry season, the weather's pretty cool, and there's barely any rain. If it is hot, there's always fans, AC units, cooling wipes on set. On Domundi sets there's never a need to worry about the well-being of the crew and actors. Three meals a day, another two that are snacks, and tasty beverages! [lmao] It's just been recently that nature's interfering, like the rain during the previous Q. Which scene does he think was the most difficult? There's been one day where he said it was the biggest and most tiring day since the start of filming, in terms of filming technique, the number of people in the scene, the difficulty and intensity of the scene. People can probably guess what scene it is since there aren't that many scenes in the novel with that large a number of people and that're this brutal.
👻 "For KJR, could you spoil if there's gonna be more exciting things from now on, be it about the cast, scenes or anything else? After announcing the casting of Granny Si, there haven't been any more surprises to get excited about. Could you maybe spoil a little bit more? 😣"
There's so much still! There are still many characters from the novel that haven't been announced so there's still many actors to get wowed by once the series is on air.
👻 Talking about workshops
A lot of improvisation exercises to find the relationships, backgrounds, connection to the past etc. until they could speak and think like their characters.
👻 "KengNamping, TleFirstOne, how is their acting to you, Kru Den?"
It's good he met them ever since the pilot so he got to know everyone's strong points and what they'd still needed to work on.
Keng, for example, comes from movies so he struggled a bit at first with the way series are filmed, since you have a lot of cuts and angles and need to keep playing them the same way to keep the continuity. Whereas in a movie you'd be more free in your acting. He got used to it after the pilot and the workshops. Keng's role doesn't allow him to express a lot. Paran isn't the type of person to show what he's feeling outwardly or immediately. He has a maturity and circumspection to him, a feeling of keeping everything, all his feelings, tucked away in a drawer. For him to outwardly show something, it has to be notable. So Keng's challenge is that he can't feel and express things in one layer, he has to keep it to himself and select how much he'll show. For example, other characters might shout at each other but Por Kru wouldn't do that. He uses his gaze, his deep piercing voice, but wouldn't yell loudly. But Keng does it really well, a little goes a long way. And Keng has a great sense of give-and-receive with his scene partner. Sometimes just seeing him sit with a scene partner, like Mae Nok Noi (the actress who plays Granny Si), just the two of them, there's no need to even be speaking and it's already just right.
Namping is like P'Den, personality-wise. It's like he has two modes: Playful all the time but once he walks onto the set, he's calm, concentrating, ready for rehearsal and blocking, remembers his lines right from the get go. He doesn't hold his script when he enters the set - none of the actors P'Den is working with do, actually. Everyone memorizes their lines at home and did their homework on the ride to work or in the dressing room so once they're on the set, everyone's quiet and ready for blocking, rehearsal, and filming. Namping is that way - in the dressing room he's still playing around but as soon as they're preparing to film, it's on! Cut, moving the camera - and he's back to his cheerful self. P'Den has never seen Namping be exhausted in the almost 20 Qs so far, he's always full of energy which gives the people around him more energy, too.
Tle is detail-oriented, always the first one to get on set, very diligent, open towards different choices. The role of Charnvit isn't easy. It has a nerdiness that's approachable, instead of completely absorbed in one field of interest. He's critical and believes in cause and effect and it's this rationality of his that helps the group. Tle executes that well. Tle also doesn't really play around once he's on set - worlds apart from First!
First is mischievous but once he has to focus, he is really determined. He'll suddenly turn into a school boy, gaze fixed on P'Den and always asking so many questions. People like to ask if Tle and First aren't just playing themselves but Jettana (FirstOne's role) actually has so many dimensions. First can do them all, be it serious parts, dramatic, loving his friends, fun, funny, action, mischievous etc. and not all of them are First's real self 100%.
👻 "Which of the locations for KJR do you think is the scariest, Kru Den?"
Yesterday's! (Q19)
👻 "P'Den, about KJR, would it be any differences about Khemjira's character between series and its book? Because Khem is too easy to cry in its book kaa."
Yes, there will be some differences. When it's understandable that Khem is emotional, sensitive, and feels like crying then he will be crying in the series. But they're not going for a weak Khem. It's good and touching in the novel because you get to feel with the character. When reading you connect via the words and your own imagination. But once it becomes visual on-screen, he thinks people don't like to see the main character cry that much without doing anything for themselves or others. So in the series Khem's gonna be a little tougher. He'll still be sensitive, emotional, naïve, reserved but he will try to survive, just like the title. He'll try to persevere and do things for himself and his friends more.
There are gonna be some side-stories to showcase Paran's ability in dealing with ghosts and supernatural beings in the village, his relationship with the people in the village, and beliefs around shamans. And also side-stories to showcase Khem's strong mind and will and his ability to survive - if he managed to survive 20 years of his life, without his mother, seeing ghosts all the time, enduring all that, then he must be a strong person, not a crybaby. What he will be crying about would be personal and because of his feelings for the other characters. Of course Khem won't turn into the Daughter of the Village Chief [a wild child tomboy female character] but he will be a bit stronger than in the novel.
👻 Final words
They're still going strong with filming. As he said before, there have been some additions and changes to the script so it's still intense but can be shot more realistically. There's interference with beliefs, the principle of karma and the wheel of dharma, saving each other, saving oneself, taking a life to survive in any way, surviving like you're the only one to survive or surviving like we help each other to go on. The message is gonna be concentrated on cases of wiping out ghosts and meeting villagers who can make us come to terms with something. Which is in line with P'Aof wanting to make series not just for entertainment purposes but also to discuss and bring up various issues.
Since the show is 12 episodes long, some parts of the special chapters are going to be mixed into the series as well as side-stories and events from past lives. We're going to see a lot of culture, history, and a thrilling romantic story.

⏳ "P'Kim shared that the scarf scene was improvised, now I wonder how often the boys improvised the scenes?Another one is the part where PhopKhun being intimate, was the awkwardness a deliberation or was it coz JJ was too shy?"
He isn't very keen on improvisation since every scene has to connect to the scene before and after, they can't allow all improvisations to make the cut since the emotions and relationships have to be consistent and some scenes require an agreed-upon sequence, like combat scenes. If there are improvised moments that were kept in the pilot it's because they discussed whether the actors' instincts during filming fit the scene, in which case he let it pass, or not, in which case they'd discuss if it could be adjusted in a fitting way. They mostly just follow the script as is standard practice, these kinds of instinctive choices can make the scene stand out and fit each actors' interpretations of their character. So it's about 90% following the script direction but actors are also free to add their own interpretations and encouraged to be in the moment.
The awkwardness between Phop and Nakhun was indeed deliberate. Some of the choices are of course JJ's, like the facial expressions, but it was scripted to be this way, it's not because JJ was actually too shy or anything. There are gonna be parts where Nakhun becomes more daring but since the pilot takes place at the very beginning of the story, Nakhun gets shy a lot with Phop.
⏳ "Tell us about LUAT please"
Regarding workshop, it's a lot about language. It's like acting in a Shakespeare piece because we're trying to speak an obsolete language. So the kids had to translate their scripts into modern day language and then they'd act out the scenes with modern language first, in order for them to understand the characters' feelings and wants within a given scene. All four understood their characters and scripts, everyone just had their own things to work on, e.g. Nong Tte speaks too fast sometimes, Net doesn't always enunciate clearly. Some things are habitual and just part of their speech patterns, so they'd be difficult to change within the 2 months they had between workshops and filming the pilot. Learning to speak a 2nd or 3rd language accurately and precisely takes time. The LUAT actors are gonna be working with a speech therapist/vocal coach soon.
⏳ "For LUAT, was there any scene that was hard for the crew or the actors?"
Since this was a pilot, they had 2 Qs of time to film it. And during Q1 they had to move (between?) 2 locations so they were tight on time for actual filming. The kids got very little chance to play several takes since they had to keep going. So for the pilot they rehearsed extensively beforehand, ever since the workshop, every single scene. What we see in the pilot, most if not all of it was shot in under three takes. Among those three takes, none of them were bad either, but they were different choices, in the sense of being less or more, or different options for editing later.
What was hard for the crew was the scene of them sitting and drinking together, half-way into the NC scene, on the terrace. It took almost an hour to set up the lighting because they hardly used any electrical lighting, it was mostly practical lighting, lighting up candles and lamps. Meaning the candles had to continue, they had to change them out after every cut, and the oil lamps had to continue, the fire had to be consistent. And the actions and feelings between the characters were difficult as well. It was almost half past midnight at the time so everyone was tired. He remembers this scene requiring a lot of time and effort.
Another difficult one was the lantern-floating scene. A Krathong will just follow the flow of water but they needed it to be in front of the camera to get a nice shot of the pretty candle light on the lotus pond. So an art team crew member on a rowboat had to keep rounding up the Krathongs in front of the camera. It had such a cute vibe, actually, seeing them row back and forth to collect the Krathongs. It was late at night then, too, the other Q's night. Since this was an outdoor scene in a waterfront pavilion without lights or electricity, the light had to be completely set up, which also took a lot of time for the crew. As for the actors, it was an intimate moment wherein the characters finally know their feelings but Klao still feels like there might come a day he won't be here anymore - both in the sense that someone might mean Klao harm and come to hurt him as well as in the sense that he might just warp back to the present at any moment. There's a bittersweetness to it that dampens the romance but doesn't make it sad either so the actors had to find the balance.
⏳ P'Den couldn't find the question anymore but it was: "For LUAT, I'd like to know about Tte's development and him working together with P'Kim - how is it?"
(La)Tte surprised P'Den with how little he speaks, like, he's really silent. He seems like a hard-to-approach manly man, at least from P'Den's perspective as a queer. But he's actually really lovely and diligent and P'Den only just found out that he went to law school. He also takes down every single word P'Den says! Whether it's serious or joking or whatever, he takes notes on everything, as if he's sitting in a lecture hall. Those lines that are an almost-rap at the beginning (of the pilot), where he says so much, were the first lines during workshop. He's really hard-working - during break on-set, P'Den would turn around and see Tte with his script jotting stuff down endlessly. He feels the pressure on him since the last pilot, he's read the comments and knows what he needs to work on so he's really trying to improve at all times. P'Den sees his determination.
As for Tte's chemistry with Kim - they like teasing each other. Tte likes teasing Kim and sometimes Kim will tease him back. For example, when they were shooting the present-day scenes. P'Den saw Tte teasing Kim a lot so that Kim would actually feel annoyed like Nong Pun. Which would come back around once they shot the past scenes. It's one kind of relationship that's really fun, where the Nong messes with/teases the Phi and the Phi gets all huffy.
Kim also surprised him. P'Den knew already what he was capable of but he delivered since the very first take. There's no nervousness because of the camera at all. It's like he's fully prepared. He's a new actor who's done his homework well so there's almost no need to coach him, it's just about helping him in making acting choices. Kim was really sensitive, emotional, about the pouring water part to the point it became another key scene that everyone was talking about. That came from Kim, the credit is almost entirely his for that. He found that (in him) himself.
⏳ "For LUAT, is that one important event still gonna happen?🥹🥹 and are Mae Wanna and Khun Pim part of the script?"
They're currently having script meetings for LUAT. They got a script writer who's previously written period pieces, like Royal Doctor, Thong Ek: The Herbal Master and Ruk Laek Pop. The fact that LUAT is a period piece is pretty straightforward but there might need to be adjustments in the way the story is told because, reading the novel, there is a lot of Nakhun just going about his daily life at times and lots of descriptions of characters' feelings. So they need to add the situations and actions of the characters in order for the audience to get the picture. And they can't just have the characters describe every circumstance in a voiceover or directly tell the audience. They might need to be expanded into situations (small scenes).
But that one really important event is definitely going to be there, otherwise it would become a different story, it wouldn't be LUAT anymore. Therefore, whatever is key to the story - finding his identity, trying to find out where the previous Klao disappeared to and what's going on, disguising himself to get into the opium house and the brothel, adjusting to life in the Ayutthaya period, slowly falling in love with P'Phop, gradually revealing how they could've been close before - all of that has to be there.
As for if Mae Wanna and Khun Pim are going to be in the script, they are catalysts in the relationship of P'Phop and Nakhun. They have their function, they make us see that P'Phop really doesn't care for anyone else aside from Nakhun, no matter if in the past or in this life. And that also makes Nakhun more confident in this man. So P'Den thinks the series script has to have them but he can't say how minor or big their parts are going to be since they're still in talks about the script.
⏳ Final words
More script meetings coming up! P'Den directed the pilot and is also going to be directing the full series. Next up, he'll be sending the kids to clinical speech training with a vocal coach who's a colleague of his at Chulalongkorn University from the faculty of Arts and who got his degree in the US. They'll be learning how to enunciate and pronounce ancient Thai speech more clearly and comfortably. As for the script, they'll try to keep the important or key parts as they are but the way of telling the story might be different, to make it a more modern interpretation, at a time where there are countless period pieces, to make this BL period piece stand out. It won't be just a comedy, that's for sure, it will still have its drama, suspense and thrill. P'Den says he likes series with many different flavors so he'll try to make it as well-rounded as possible.
---
Unrelated to any show but very interesting nonetheless:
"what brought you/inspired you into the world of acting, writing, and directing? how is teaching it like?"
A few more notes: 1) There was a question about what Ar Ning (the actor who plays the King in TNP) is like - I axed it cause I figured most folks on here have no clue who he is anyway 🥴 2) I've read the novels to KJR and TNP but not to LUAT, so I had no way of verifying my choice of name romanizations and my translations for some of the plot details in the question about Mae Wanna, Khun Pim, and the script. Apologies if I've made any mistakes 🙏 3) There were also some shorter questions about learning Thai, several instances of him speaking Spanish (which I can vaguely follow from having learned other Romance languages before but would never actually be able to translate), and some pointless questions I didn't include like "Is NuNew gonna sing an OST for TNP?" which- Duh.

this!!! please remember this everyone!!!!! we have done so much free journalism over the last 15 years if an actual journalist with integrity looked at any of the masterposts that still exist the exposé they’d write on syco, sony, and the entire closeting machine would be nuclear and criminal investigations would be launched, especially when multiple people from the x factor have made allegations as it is (and let’s not even get started on american idol, britain’s got talent, and whatever other fucking show simon cowell/syco was involved with jesus fucking christ the trail of broken souls that’s been left in his wake like his entire bloodline should be cursed.) and like i said the legal movement that came from britney being free of her conservatorship was started by her FANS and journalists piggybacked off it.
h&l literally cannot be out of the closet separately without exposing the other and you have to remember they dangle louis like a coat hanger in front of harry to get him to comply. every single monster tried to convince harry to end the relationship. he refused. remember that h&l have worked damn hard in spite of their trauma to be a TEAM. they make decisions as a team and they will always protect each other first and foremost. louis’ been the punching bag for years by syco and though i believe he still lacks confidence, he is tough as nails and can handle us being mad at him. he literally called us out for it in “bigger than me” but pls realize the thing he cannot and will NOT handle is any of those monsters laying a finger on harry. like that’s his motivation. and i’m not even saying that to romanticize it or make it shippy it’s literally just a fact. all 5 of the band members were bonded FOR LIFE.
DO YOU GET IT?

Hello would you be willing to rant about the ace subtext in Yugioh GX season 3 to me ? I haven't watched GX yet (though I plan to) and I have heard about its gay subtext but this is the first time I hear about ace subtext 💜🖤 ! Don't hesitate to spoil to your heart content btw, I don't mind them (they're generally what stimulates my interest in something in the first place) and I already spoiled myself a huge chunk of the season 3 of GX anyway 😅
OH ABSOLUTELY
I meant to make an essay about this ageeees ago but ended up never getting around to it. For starters, let's just talk about how ace coded Jaden Yuki is.
Jaden, at multiple points in the series, expresses a nonchalance, obliviousness, or straight up disinterest in romance. Multiple people ask him out and he either doesn't get what they're asking or turns them down. (This includes a guy btw, no not that one, an undead ghost king asks Jaden to marry him and Jaden turns him down.) Several minor villains attempt to distract him/flirt with him/straight up use love magic on him and it just. Does not work. His tag force profile says, quote "At times a girl may have a crush on him, but he has rarely, if ever, shown any interest."
Okay, so he's gay, right?
Well, as I mentioned, even the one male character that shows interest in him, he turns down, but maybe that was a fluke.
Enter season 3, and Jesse "Johan" Anderson.
Jesse is a sweet befrilled little bishonen boy, with a rainbow magic motif and the accent of Owen Wilson. He and Jaden instantly click. His entire introduction episode is just the two of them hanging out and talking about their shared interests, and Jaden's other friends commenting that they've never seen him act like this with anyone. Over the course of an arc, the two come to completely rely on each other and work in tandem, and Jesse takes to calling Jaden "partner".
This is the part that a lot of folks like to point to and declare "gay!" and I'm not going to deny it. Jesse is an undeniably queer character.
Interestingly, in a series set in highschool, with a large ensemble of characters undergoing coming-of-age plot lines, and having crises of identity, Jesse is one of the only members of the cast to never having an arc around his identity or his relationships with people.
Chazz learns that he came from an abusive family and has to shed the toxic expectations placed upon him by his older brothers, leaving behind the fruitless scrabble for their approval. Alexis slowly comes to terms with the fact that her crush (Jaden) will never like her back and she has spent so long chasing after friendships that she no longer knows how to exist without being an ever smiling supporter and it terrifies her. Syrus wants desperately to live up to his older brother's reputation, except said older brother is actually a mess, and the more Syrus tries to be like him the more he seems to drive them apart. Heck, even Hassleberry has some (extremely clumsy) magical identity shenanigans going on, and reckoning his past life as a dinosaur (it's a long story) with his understanding of himself. Jaden's a whole other bag of worms.
But Jesse is never troubled by his identity, or the way he loves people. That's what makes Jesse queer: he's comfortable with who he is, revolutionary so for his genre. He's happy to just be in Jaden's life.
Then Yubel shows up.
Okay, about Yubel. Now, you might have heard, but Jaden had this bigender ghost dragon demon sharing tenancy in his brain when he was a kid, who's actually a leftover guardian from a past life, who swore an oath to follow Jaden through his reincarnations and protect him, and underwent painful transformative surgery to make themselves an immortal monster creature so they could do just that. They asked past!Jaden if he would always love them, and he said yes of course. Then in present day they got a little into the protector sauce and started murdering anyone who made Jaden sad, so he decided to send them away into the cold isolation of space to stop the murders from happening. Now they're back, and they have a complex.
Specifically, they are very angry at Jaden for sending them away, but also rationalize it as "Jaden promised to love me forever. Then he sent me into the Torment Nexus. Therefore, sending the person you care about to the Torment Nexus = love."
(Learning all this also adds a fascinating layer to Jaden, because it recontextualizes all those interactions he had where he turned people down. Not only is he just naturally oblivious, but subconsciously he tries to hold people at arms length, so they don't go to extreme lengths for him.)
Yubel is royally pissed to come back from The Pain Dimension and see their "spot" at Jaden's side taken by this funky little rainbow southern boi. So they try to reassert their love by killing everyone Jaden knows; placing him in intense pain, and conveniently getting rid of all those "rivals" for his affection.
The plot of yugioh gx season 3 is the villain trying to force the main character into what their idea of a "romantic" relationship should be, while trying to eradicate the person who is completely comfortable loving him in a nontraditional way.
And! The interesting thing about Jaden! Is that he does love!
Jesse sacrifices himself to save Jaden and everyone, and Jaden cannot cope with that. (see above, for him having trouble forming connections because he equates loving someone with deep personal loss that's his fault) He sets out for basically the afterlife, determined to bring Jesse back from the dead, with everyone else in the show trailing after him and telling him this is a bad idea.
Jaden loves Jesse to death and past it. That cannot be understated.
For Jaden, love exists. It's primal and destructive and powerful and almost tears him apart, and he tries to burn down the universe to get the people he cares about back. He doesn't go on dates, he doesn't know what the word "fiance" means, he visibly cringes when people talk about romantic relationships, but he loves so powerfully that the entire conflict of the season, maybe even the entire show, is that Jaden loves so much.
Yubel puts together that Jaden loves Jesse, so they take over his body. They try to shape themselves into the form they know Jaden loves, and short of that, deliver an ultimatum. Them, or Jesse.
Yubel cannot comprehend a world where Jaden is allowed to love them both. Yubel is representative of the view of love as a monogamous, one-and-done kind of situation. Jaden reaches back out and says "No. I love him, and I love you. And I'm sorry."
Yubel cannot love him into the form of relationship they think is "normal". No matter how hard they try, the two of them are never going to be the traditional, picture perfect couple from Yubel's stories of the knight and his bodyguard. They will both always be "alien". And Jaden will never stop loving Jesse, in that messy and vaguely defined way neither of them will elaborate on, even when asked by other characters.
When Jaden gives up on the idea of love and being loved in exactly the way everyone is telling him he should, that's when he gets a happy ending.
It's a theme that permeates so much of the series. Chazz should stop striving for approval from people who don't care about him. Cyrus should stop trying to change himself just to fit a preconceived mold. Alexis can't keep bending over backwards to help people in the vain hope that one day they will love her back the way she wants.
And at the center of it all an asexual character, learning to accept the part of him that loves different from the way he is told he should.
#im really normal about acearo jaden#the fact that his biggest storylines are about love and he is so so so uninterested in dating#the fact that all his 'romantic' subplots end in either the person realizing it wont work#or accepting that jadens love is just a different shape from everyone elses#yugioh#yugioh gx#gx#ygo gx#yu gi oh gx#jaden yuki#judai yuki#yuki judai#yubel#jesse anderson#johan andersen#asexual#aromantic#essays#asks#answered asks

X-Men hating X-Force
After their effectiveness tracking Cable and destroying Predator X in Messiah Complex, Cyclops commissioned X-Force as a proactive black ops squad. They handled threats like The Purifiers, The Legacy Virus, Bastion, Marauders, The Right, etc. Anyone with genocide on their mind.

Word got out and many X-Men were horrified to the point of leaving - but why?

Nightcrawler and Psylocke (ironically) figured out something was being kept from them and that Cyclops knew about it. Laura doing a spot of lethal torture tipped them off and Betsy confirmed it telepathically. Kurt, especially, was not happy. He died shortly after, which exacerbated everyone's emotions.

Ugh. Greg Land.
After Second Coming and the defeat of many of the more dangerous genocidal agents, folks had time to think. Despite fighting ten different wars at once with fuck all outside assistance (and definitely none from the state,) certain folks made clear their objections to killing in general. Storm asked Scott what Jean would think and we never get an answer on that one. Jean was dead for this 'darkest hour' period after M-Day though she did join Krakoan X-Force to be 'smart, swift and violent.' The canonisation of St Jean was often used as a symbol and rhetorical device, but I have to wonder how she'd behave in the same circumstances.
Xavier, upon sensing no remorse from Scott, looked at him like a stranger. I guess secret drastic action is only okay when he does it - like The Illuminati, or the secret team that didn't come back from Krakoa, or his entire career. It's not always a bad thing, but it often is. The existence of the Xavier Protocols makes his stance a little hypocritical IMO, and that was plans for killing allies not proven ruthless enemies.
It's easy for him to say 'I never wanted this for you' while admitting he's facing every nightmare scenario at once - a multi-front war of genocide. With stakes like that, how do you not kill people? Victory came with a high cost and was a close thing, without X-Force they definitely would have lost. All mutants dead, but with their conscience intact. Somehow I doubt the kids would find comfort in that.

Storm and Logan are processing Kurt's death and the revelation of X-Force hangs in the air. Logan is full of self loathing, and frankly, Storm is full of shit. Their enemies are genocidal monsters who deliberately target children. The Purifiers have lynched mutants, blown up a school bus, and so much more. Their mission hadn't changed at all - in fact they were escalating and joining Bastion plus every other hate militia for a final attack. The state is unwilling or unable to stop them - waiting around for them to attack again, especially with kids on the island, is suicidal.
Heroes don't kill, except when they do. Most heroes aren't constantly at war without a safety net either. Would it be ethical to be the last mutant alive fighting every threat alone, thinking 'at least I didn't kill anyone' as Nimrod tears your heart out? As The Purifiers crucify Academy X, or the Sapien League releases the Legacy virus mark 3? I don't think so. None of them want war, but war wants them.

Hank, of course, leaves. Now that most of the extinction threats are gone he can hang out in Avengers Tower or chill at home without being worried about a robot from the future killing him or his remaining putative students.

I don't say this very often but Namor is right. Fuck Hank's conscience. He's no stranger to opting out of mutant affairs, and in a different story that'd be a viable choice. The X-Men exist in a world of heroes where an endless parade of very dangerous entities specifically want to kill them all. They act as heroes often, but are they actually allowed to be? I'd say no. Especially post M-Day, every threat to mutants is a genocidal one - a war.

Could X-Force have been better? Of course. Would it be nice to have the luxury of traditional superheroics or pursuing a normal life? Definitely. Would the world be better off without X-Force? Depends on whether you value mutant lives. In the sixties, X-Force would be considered a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. As a long running franchise the X-Men's enemies experienced power and motivation creep to the point that they're at war no matter what they do. Ethics are nice to hold onto, but so is breathing. So are the lives of children in your care. If they waited they'd be dead, so these mutants may not like X-Force, but they should probably say a prayer to it for removing the threats that would destroy the school (again) and everyone in it
Scott's assessment is pretty accurate here. Unlike The Avengers, The X-Men aren't a government sponsored team - the government frequently tries to wipe them out. Unlike the Fantasic Four, the X-Men are mostly despised by the public. The other super teams are fickle allies at best.
They've always been a team with a school, and a school means children. How many children need to die before a policy of reactiveness becomes naive? How many genocide attempts or successes before you classify it as a war? The Avengers fight Kang or Ultron or whoever and that's great for them. The X-Men would be helping if they weren't attending funerals, raising mutant children because nobody else will, and fighting for their lives against the countless parties who want every single mutant dead. They don't get the choice most of the time, and when they do it's often because there're other mutant teams doing what they won't.
If the narrative wants to convince me that lethal proactivity is unethical, including unwavering enemies that won't stop until all mutants are gone was a mistake. Putting Norman Osborn in charge of national security, who included mutant existence as a threat to that was a mistake. But they did, and we all have to play the hand we're dealt.
Many of the mutants who objected to X-Force were powerful or well-trained enough to protect themselves non-lethally. What about those who aren't? The X-Men came to the Morlocks' rescue, but it's called the Mutant Massacre for a reason. In a story where endless forces want every mutant dead - which becomes more true every year - fighting a limited and bloodless reactive war is a luxury.

Hi nalyra!
Regarding your latest post about going into the tags, I've been having a similar experience to be honest, especially lately. Definitive factors are the lack of news and s01 and s02 leaving us for 4+ years with this "tale". So much so that I've been actually starting to take it as face value too. Because really what does one have to say otherwise? Hints? Hints are not canon yet so they can't count as proof -also we don't know how they are going to be used.
Promised revisits? Yeah we saw those in season 2 and they definitely did not help change the tale. Contradicting promises and half truths from cast? It's not enough to rely on. The responses are often more about how the actors interpret their characters motivations not what the writers actually write and how they see the characters.
I really don't wish to be negative but I think it's equally possible that season 3 will infact not turn everything onto its head and this is largely based on the creative decisions taken so far. So many relationship dynamics were changed to their core eg. Armand-Louis.Core events altered completely, murder scene, trial scene etc.
And may I just add here a comment about rolin and not everyone has to agree this is just my impression, but listen to the way he talks.
Nickistat is a "super emo relationship", lestat is always described with epithets like "messy" "volatile", the world "sexy" was used a lot. Emphasis is given on how this is the Monster Vampire Show where everyone is equal in monstrosity because that's how monsters monster.
I really don't mean to dump all over anyone's dreams here but when people speak they show you who they are and what their intentions are. How hannah reacted to the 1x5? That's who she is and what she believes and what she writes stems from this.
When they spoke of the 1x5 revisit they were speaking like they somehow altered the whole series and its trajectory when infact no? The scene interpretation and its fall out stays exactly the same. Has stayed the same for the audience!
In no interview did they mention about setting up how lestat functions as the hero in the VC universe, not because to use a quote "this guy is a mess" but of how horrible things keep happening to him (some based on his bad decisions but others not) and he keeps going some times with existential angst others with a joie de vivre.
They did not mention or give emphasis on how the core of iwtv was parental grief, and how it WAS supposed to be about claudia.
We cannot expect season 3 to magically alter all of That. The edited tale very likely will never change but instead "added upon" let's say with some revisits and clarifications.
As of right now 90% of the Fandom is confused and to that i say it's not because all the pieces are missing its because the pieces don't match.
The writers intentions vs the actual book arcs and characters don't match right now there is a dissonance.
I apologize for the offensively long post, of course anyone can feel free to disagree I love hearing how other iwtv fans are experiencing the series and fandom and their thoughts on the future season(s).
And massive thanks to you Nalyra for providing this space that is much needed!!
You're welcome.
I mean... I do think the revisits helped to change the tale? And massively so, because the "sales man" comment alone made it clear that there had been whole memories implanted.
Should have made it clear, I need to say though I guess, because that for example is what I meant.
People... don't take the mental step back to evaluate the tale they were told. They "waited" for the big revisits to change everything they had been shown.
And what the show did instead - was change key scenes... and it expected everyone to be able to follow.
To re-evaluate why Lestat in 1x05 did not have blood on his face outside or in the sky... but was shown in the revisit to have had blood all over - for example. Because it's an implanted memory!!! The hair styles also indicate that, I have talked about that at length before.
What really happened out there is up to interpretation right now, and I do think it has to do with the arc they try to do that Sam hinted at.
But this way of revealing things... and expecting people to have the mental capacity to reevaluate the whole show after the fact... THAT is what did not work.
At least for some.
Because I have seen enough fan reactions to know that it did NOT in fact stay the same for the whole audience.
I do not expect s3 to give us many more explicit revisits. I do expect a revisit to "murder night" because the words in Claudia's diary do not match and the revisit was hinted at before.
But Lestat did not go and contradict everything Louis said in his book - some, yes, but not everything?? - so why would s3 do that.
No the show is not the books, and yet it is.
It is an adaptation.
I do not like all of the choices... but what I do get is what they intended with the revisits and how these few key scenes do, in fact, actually do change the whole tale.
Go on, nonny, do a rewatch.
Look at Lestat's hair in Louis' memory, and notice the hair in what turned out to be a wrong memory... notice what Louis could not have known, but told of, and then... re-evaluate.
Because that is what this show wanted us to do with the revisits :)
Because it's all in there already... and THAT - as much as it frustrates me, given parts of the fandom not understanding it 😅 - is quite ingenious.

I'm seriously thinking about joining the RTV AU as well, but I know very well that my persona will be a punching bag most of the time lol-
...
Anyway, she would be a shapeshifter with extra powers, but they are temporarily limited, being useful during a certain period time but with a great cost afterward. For example, she can stay invisible, but only for up to 1 hour, if she exceeds this time, her magic will deplete very quickly, leading her to a state of 'hibernation' that can last from 1 to 3 days, in certain cases even an entire week, like when she stays in a strong form for too long...So she rathers stop immediately after this happens, causing her to reveal/show herself.
She can't transform into people, only certain specific animals, and even so, she doesn’t copy them 100%, having differences here and there that make her stand out in the animal or being she transformed into...Her strongest forms is a eldritch horror thing and a dragon (ANOTHER DRAGON PERSON?!?!?)
"Is there a way to know when she’s running low on magic?"
Actually, yes. She uses a necklace with a purple crystal that she carries everywhere and refuses to take off at all costs (for some reason). If this crystal appears pale in color, it means her magic is depleted, and in the few minutes she still has left awake, she will look for a hidden place far from everyone to hibernate.
"How wasn't she brainwashed like the others?"
That’s a great question, but maybe it’s related to the necklace that she always wears and also to the fact that she is not a TV fan....And also because she lives in the middle of a freaking forest isolated from everything and everyone.
"What happened during the brainwashing period?"
At first, she was confused because no one was online anymore or replying to her messages. Then she got even more confused when everything she saw on social media was a TV headed guy called RTV, she had never seen him in her life until now...She thought it was just a huge event about some famous person, and everyone was crazy about him, so she didn’t care much at first...But during her occasional trips to the city, she noticed that everyone was acting...Strange? She didn’t know how, but it seemed like everyone started to hate SMG4? She didn’t know much about the guy, but from what she’d heard, he was just a meme guardian of the place who was adored by everyone, at least up until now-
After a long while, she finally putted two and two together, and realized the gravity of the situation, avoiding going out of her house more and more because of that, rarely leaving to get food, but even that was becoming dangerous, forcing her to hunt animals in emergencies. Well, that wasn’t too hard since she could transform, but even so, she felt bad about doing it, so most of the time she was eating fruits back then.
A few weeks later, some people came very close to her house’s area, and fearing the worst, she transformed into something scary to scare them away. Some tried to persist, but she just yeeted them away, not wanting to seriously hurt anyone...But obviously, rumors of a monster in the forest arose, which caught the attention of a certain someone...Some guards entered her zone, and she did the same as last time. But then she thinked that he might know her location, so she migrated to a cave far from her house...Staying there and developing a mindset that anyone who saw her...Would have to be killed...This was the only way for her to stay out of RTV’s direct sights and survive this apocalypse, even though the idea of killing people who weren’t even at fault for anything was, well, terrifying and uneasy. After all, it wasn’t their fault that they no longer had control over their own minds and were being puppeteered by a lunatic with a TV head! She had no idea why no one had taken him down yet- he didn’t seem strong- at least she thought she could take him on easily...Big mistake thinking that...Big mistake.
Days staying alone make her get quite anxious and empty from not having contact with people throughout this process and wondered if any of her friends, or anyone in general, still had their minds in the right place. But her fear of finding out that something might have been done to them or that they had been controlled drove her a bit insane and paranoid about anyone.
One day, however, some explorers (I guess RTV have people to look at anything out of order) entered her cave, and she immediately turned invisible as they ventured further inside...But remember her time limitation? Yeah- she was a bit too close to them when she suddenly became visible again...And remembering her mindset...They're no longer among us. She left their bodies hanging on some stalagmites as some kind of warning to others who might enter...And so, her collection of people began to grow a bit more and more to the point where, besides talking to the dead, she started to develop habits of roaring, growling, and hissing every time someone new entered the cave...She wasn't a monster before, but thanks to RTV and her paranoid, she began to immerse herself in her new role as one.
But not so many days later, two people entered...RTV's guards specifically...She was already preparing to pounce at them when she noticed it was Swag and Chris...She hesitated and backed off, recognizing them as the guards she really loved seeing, before all this chaos started. Unfortunately, they saw the bodies of the other people and ran off to report it to their boss...She had a horrible feeling in her gut that sparing them would have been her downfall. She could flee and migrate again...But she wanted to face RTV head-on, take him down once and for all, avenge everyone he brainwashed...Another mistake...And one she would remember forever.
It didn’t take long for 'The Man itself' to show up and investigate himself, after all, he doubted that anyone could have caused him so much trouble and also managed to stay hidden for so long. When he saw the scene, he found it...interesting...Maybe he could use it as a horror story? Or as a tale of how he heroically defeated and saved everyone from the beast hiding here to boost his popularity? Well, speaking of the beast, she emerged from the shadows and tried to attack RTV, of course, not before being shot a few times by the guards right behind him. But she assumed that getting rid of him would also get rid of the others, so she focused solely on RTV, who didn’t take long to put her in her place.
So he noticed her necklace and immediately removed it, forcing her back to normal, and thus he realized that it was thanks to this small object that he could now force her to take the form he wanted, not her. He could kill her I mean, get her out this place for an indefinite period, or use her to instill fear or gain greater respect from others by showing that he had brought the monster to its knees...The idea was appealing, and that’s exactly what he did.
After removing the bullets and applying some bandages here and there, RTV left her confined in a room where she spent most of her time sleeping to recover her energy and regenerate some of the damage she had suffered. Since the crystal was responsible for controlling her powers as she wanted, but now being in RTV's possession, she could no longer transform at will- only during her insane outbursts when she clawed and tried to break the place to escape. This led to her constantly being muzzled and chained to prevent her outbursts...
"Does she eat?"
Yes, of course...The difference is that feeding her can be quite challenging since they had to remove her muzzle, and she wasn’t much of a fan of anyone there, causing some scratches and even bites in the process...Although she avoided seriously hurting anyone out of fear that RTV might do something to control her... Swag and Chris were sometimes sent there... And since she was a fan of them, she seemed to be calmer and would sometimes talk to them...She usually responds to yes or no questions by nodding or shaking her head and rarely speaking if necessary...The most random question she heard was from Swag (obviously) asking, 'Are you gay?' Her first reaction was to look at him somewhat perplexed before starting to make a sound that seemed like laughter and shaking her head negatively...She adored the two of them, what a shame they’re not in control of themselves.
"What was she used for?"
Every time RTV had problems with some type of rebellion, he (accompanied by a few guards for security measures) would release her and force her to take on a terrifying form to show the rebels that if he could bring a monster like her to heel, they would be no trouble for him. And occasionally, when there were still people disobeying him, he made her kill them and recorded the scene with his head to replay it as if it were a horror show...
And one day, she came across the resistance, and RTV wanted to eliminate them using her. Despite her killing most of the others with some complaints and direct provocations toward RTV, seeing a group that perhaps had a 0.0000001% chance of putting an end to him made her snap. Instead of getting rid of them, she had the brilliant idea of attacking RTV again. Of course, the resistance took advantage of the commotion to flee, and Lari...Took a stab from her precious crystal in the chest, immediately collapsing 'dead,' but not before punching RTV’s screen as revenge...
Well, little needed to say that RTV was furious about this and also for having lost track of the resistance, ordering Swag and Chris to dispose of her body. And so they did, throwing her into the sea...But she was alive, having pretending to be dead the whole time...Managing to reach the surface with difficulty and nearly passing out in the process, but not before seeing a familiar hand extended to her...SMG4, and Beeg on his shoulder, apparently they followed the two goofballs there in hopes of finding a new ally...And it seems they’ve found one now.
"What's her relationship with the resistance?"
She is extremely loyal to SMG4 and Beeg, willing to kill for them. Now Mickey...We don't talk about Mickey...She doesn't like him, especially due to the poor choices he's made with his movie studio in the last years, she thinks he deserved to go bankrupt.
SMG4 considers her an ally and maybe even a friend? She considers him a friend/savior.
Beeg finds her tolerable and an ally, and she considers him a friend/savior.
Mickey tolerates and hates her, but the feeling is mutual this time.
If something bad is happening, her focus is on protecting SMG4 and Beeg. As for Mickey? He can fend for himself! He's a rat! He can escape by crawling into a sewer or something like that.
Also, thanks to being literally impaled by the crystal that gave her powers, she is now able to change her form and transform whenever she wants. However, she still limits it because she doesn't want to hibernate and put others in danger, so she avoids using it as much as possible. The damage she suffers is now doubled, and her regeneration has become severely weakened because of it. If she's shot or takes a strong hit exactly where RTV impaled the crystal, she'll die... Mickey seems quite tempted to do just that.
(Fun facts: She is not the same as the one in the tour, since this one revealed her face, and started using the mask after the whole incident with RTV, she keeps the mask on top of her head, only putting it on when she's on the run...In short, two different people.)
(RTV doesn't know she still alive, since she uses her mask whenever he or anyone else is near.)
(Despite everything she had done, she still blindly believe she is not the one to blame...Which is kinda true...But it wasn't RTV who killed all those people...Was it?)
DONE!-
@4thwallbreakerdraws2 please do tell me if there's anything i need to clarify or change! I had no idea if this concept was good enough for the AU, and i was afraid in doing a comic and messing things up badly- so there it is! PLEASE JUDGE ME!-

Today’s “Yay Veilguard!” Stream of consciousness post is how much I love the writing with all the female characters.
Neve and Bellara and Harding all get very different plotlines and their emotional responses have such a wide range. Harding and Bellara are both the sort of cute adorkable party members but they approach it very differently. Harding buries her emotions and opinions to be likeable, whereas Bellara just blurts out all her thoughts. Meanwhile Neve is measured and thoughtful almost to the point of anxiety.
They all feel full and realized and not just weird feminine stereotypes. I especially love Neve being the in-between of the noir detective and the femme fatale - it gives her such a strong and interesting core. And then you add in her idealism and desire to protect the downtrodden??
I love that Neve feels the most cynical but Bellara and Harding are actually far more vicious. I LOVE that Bellara gets to BE vicious but she’s also conflicted when it comes to Cyrian- like if anyone else had done what he did, she’d be all for killing them, but because it’s HER BROTHER, it’s different. It’s nuanced! It’s complex! She knows what her values say but her heart doesn’t want it!
And then there’s the female villains. I do think with the exception of Hezenkoss and maybe Isseya, the companion quest villains are a little underwritten, but that doesn’t take enjoyment away from playing with them. I love that Aelia is an unapologetic powermonger. I love that Zara is totally morally bankrupt and willing to use anyone she deems as lesser for beauty and power. I love that Isseya is a visible monster but actually the most sympathetic of the villains.
Hezenkoss gets her own section because my GOD I love necromancer grandma so much!! She’s so funny, she’s so unethical and unapologetic about it. An older woman getting to be so unstoppably but affably evil is incredible to me. She’s got such a high level of arrogance and ambition and she’s always chewing the scenery and it’s so enjoyable every time she shows up!
My lowkey favorites though are the Problematic Mother Figures. Shathann and Caterina you will always be legendary to me. To care about children, to try to set them up for success but in ways that are initially harmful, to try to understand them and fail, to hold them to impossible standards and have to deal with their resentment but you do it anyway because you LOVE them- Veilguard isn’t necessarily trying to make a point about parenting (and motherhood in particular) but at the same time it IS with Morrigan and Mythal and Shathann and Ghilan’nain, mother of monsters. I love the depth of emotion they get to especially with Shathann and Taash when it comes to the complicated relationships of family. I wish Lucanis had gotten more of that with Caterina instead of everything being focused on Illario but that’s not the story they were telling so alas.
All this to say, I never felt like I was dealing with a feminine stereotype in the game. The female characters get to be a range of right and wrong, moral and not, peaceful and vicious. And there were so many!!
Bonus final shout-out to Evka, light of my life, love of my heart, leader of the Grey Wardens as far as I’m concerned!! Her calm, decisive demeanor is the best!!
#dragon age#veilguard#random musings#veilguard positive#I love all of my girlies#even the evil ones#also just a side note I love that they confirmed all the winged dragons are female#it just a fun little thing#thanks taash

COUPLING UP

LITTLE MONSTER UNIVERSE
SUMMARY: all of dean and little monster’s foster babies girlfriends and boyfriends (bc i can)
WORD COUNT: 949
CLARA (named tristan)
clara’s boyfriend is huge; like actually massive. thatcher is a good 6’4 but this guy is a clean 6’6 and TOWERS over him. he’s from the south and is the sweetest guy you’ll ever meet. dean tried to hate him; because he was dating his eldest daughter, but he really couldn’t. the man treats clara like a princess, literally worshiping the ground she walks on. he’s an absolute lumberjack (in bree’s words) and his biceps could probably crush a watermelon.
LINCOLN (named davina)
bro has a goth girlfriend. brunette sophie thatcher is what me and bree deduced. it’s very golden retriever boyfriend and black cat girlfriend. link has no thoughts behind those eyes and is just a smiley blob whenever she’s around. her and little monster also get along so well. they bond over bugs and gothic literature and dean can’t even be mad bc you finally have someone to bond with on a deeper level.
THATCHER (named hazel)
we all met thatch’s girlfriend! she is the sweetest little thing you’ll ever meet. very good girl and bad boy vibes. he does not play about his girl though. he has beat up multiple guys for messing with her. everyone was a little shocked after the shit show that was his last girlfriend, but they all love her dearly. thatch always gets teased about how he’s soft with only her, but he really doesn’t care because she deserves the best.
SCARLETT (named caleb)
the nerdiest peter parker nerd you will possibly ever meet. thatcher hates him — for no reason at all but that he just does, but the guy treats scarlett like she’s the only girl in the world. she’s a ballerina, and her boyfriend goes to every single one of her dances and recitals. flowers in hand, and enjoying every minute. he’s also a big reader, and him and clara bond over their love for books.
SAM (named eleanor)
oh he is obsessed with his girlfriend. he’s been dating her since grade 8, and no one finds out until he’s at least 16 because he is so secretive. they had a history class together at 13, and bro was all gooey eyes and in love when his soon to be girlfriend debated a topic with the teacher. he’s a certified genius, super duper smart. but when she smiles at him, he becomes a complete moron. when she holds his hand, he forgets his name. bree and i also came up with the head canon that she’s a woc, and sam helps her take her braids out when she’s ready to take them out.
SADIE (named logan)
her boyfriend is three years older than her — the same age as lincoln, and him, thatcher, and dean aren’t really his biggest cheerleaders. the first conversation link and thatch had with him went a little something like, “if you even dare take advantage of our sister, we will crush your balls.” dean doesn’t really jump in, because he was thinking the same thing. at the end of the day, he is a sweetheart. he always brings all the girls flowers when he comes over, and treats sadie like she hung the moon and stars. he’s also a singer/songwriter, and he writes songs for sadie.
LUKE (named calliope)
luke’s the quarterback of his school’s football team, and he doles into the cliche when he brings home a cheerleader. she is sunshine in a bottle, and possibly the nicest girl anyone has ever met. they win prom king and queen, they dominate their respective teams, and luke is as devote to her as one would be to god. all the girls love her, and little monster is obsessed with their relationship and swoons anytime luke tells her something.
MARLEY (named jasper)
our girl is a whirlwind. she’s crazy, and her boyfriend definitely evens her out. he’s a mellow skater bro, and marley spends her time sitting on the side of skate parks and cheering him on. he’s got a buzz cut, and bree said he probably dyes it pink one time. i love that image so much. they definitely smoke weed together, and when she comes home smelling like a skunk, dean has to compose himself to not flip the fuck out.
LILY (named davis)
lily didn’t want to like her boyfriend. she started off by finding him insufferable. he was a lover of english, and he wrote her poems that lily tried to hate. she would scowl at him when he would slip her a piece of paper in class, but when she would read the words he used to describe her eyes, she just couldn’t resist. lily marches over to him in the halls and smacks the paper against his chest, grabbing at his collar and kissing him on the lips. the poor guy is so confused, but not really complaining. they start dating the next day.
MILO (named briar)
milo is a pretty chill guy, but when he’s with his soccer star girlfriend, his crazy side comes out. she brings out the best in him, and he loves her so dearly for it. he’s always on the sidelines of her games, cheering her on and jumping around like a crazy person when she scores a goal. dean and little monster are just happy that milo isn’t so shy anymore, and that he’s finally opening up and showing his true self.
IRIS (named finn)
iris is insane. she’s half demon/angel after all. she needs someone who matches her crazy, and her boyfriend does just that. he’s a crazy daredevil, a thrill seeker who iris follows blindly. they jump off cliffs into ocean’s, go sky diving, ride a motorcycle blindfolded. little monster and dean definitely get a lot of grey hairs from her. and it’s not even like they can hate the guy, he treats iris right, and he’s super duper nice.
