U know I dislike angstkasa and in general have a distaste of angst for the sake of angst but there’s a certain genre of “examining tsukasa as a kid under a microscope to explore why he has the insane neuroses he has today” that makes me fall to the floor in anguish (complimentary). & it depends on how his relationship with his parents is written. Nothing makes me sadder than the tragedy of his parents realizing that he’s so abnormally unselfish wrt their attention (due to him turning being a big brother into a mental illness) that they’re more upset/concerned about missing big events for him or leaving him home alone or not spending enough time with him than he is -> he sees them upset about this & internalizes it as “I made them sad it’s my fault and I need to be even more independent so they don’t worry.”
I think when he was younger he didn’t really have any “they’re always focused on saki” moments (or if he did it was rare & followed by immense guilt) because he was also focused on and worried about saki, and wanted to spend as much time with her as he could. He’d rather be with his parents and saki than be with his parents while saki was alone. & I think this genre only works if current tsk is like “this had zero lasting effects on my psyche the sad times are over and I don’t need to worry about it anymore.”
Idk I just think that a shoehorned ooc angst situation that casts his parents in a very unfavorable light for no reason < the very realistic depiction of parents who are constantly stressed and worried over their daughter and trying to balance getting her the care she needs with taking care of their son and working and not showing this stress to their kids. and they’re trying so hard to do their best by both of them and tsukasa’s shift from baby who clings to them -> “I need to be responsible and mature and independent to ease my family’s worries/burden (he is like. 5)” is slow and unnoticeable and maybe a little taken for granted (unintentionally) while they have so much on their plate. & then one day kid tsukasa does or says something that makes his abnormally unselfish attitude glaringly obvious and it’s too much so they break down and cry and apologize because even if they’re doing their best they still feel like they should’ve done more for him & kid tsukasa is so confused and doesn’t get it but all he knows is that he made his parents sad. so he further internalizes the “I need to do whatever I can to not upset my parents I want to make them happy” thing.
#it actually makes it more tragic and upsetting if you view his parents with empathy and try to imagine what they were going through too#instead of ‘let’s make them weirdly over the top neglectful and make tsk resent saki’#bc the latter is just ooc tsk angst but the former makes you sad for tsk saki and his parents.#mine#tsukasa

what would make bruce see the others as his sons but not dick?
mental maturity (?) i guess
Bruce canonically struggles at times with a regressed mentality and approach to things. It’s brought up so often that he still sees himself as the boy who had his world taken from him, Batman is fueled by that childish anger and pain and need for vengeance, etc.
When Dick comes along, I imagine Bruce hasn’t yet worked out flipping his approach to Batman from vengeance to hope. (He needs help with it, and Robin can be the key to that change, but it won’t happen gradually.)
I think he could struggle with seeing Dick as a peer for a bit in their early years. Not that he thinks Dick is a grown man or anything, but that he still sees himself as a wounded child, and acts accordingly. Whether he realizes that or not is another story. But it’s hard for him to get in the mindset that he’s supposed to be the responsible adult that makes the *right* choices, not the ones that benefit him best.
It’s kind of in a similar vein to when kids play on the playground together at the local park. They can be different ages, in different grades at school, etc, but when they’re plying together they don’t care about that. They’re just friends and they’re just having fun.
Or sometimes I think of that meme that’s like “working retail is crazy, you’ll be 23 with a 50 year old best friend”. Outside of that proximity, you could lead two entirely different lives with different experiences, but in that setting, you are peers. You’re on equal levels.
Eventually Bruce will grow up and become a father and Dick won’t be excluded from that, but it has to happen gradually. I also think a reason they might click differently than the others is because Dick witnessed Bruce and grew up with him pre-growth, so he knew a different side of Bruce that felt more like a big brother than a dad at times.

I’m really impressed by your analysis of Raf’s new card! Everything you stated makes so much sense and gave me a fresh perspective on his insecurities.
However, I recently came across a discussion on Reddit where someone pointed out that Rafayel's actions could be seen as problematic. They argued there’s a lack of consent from MC, suggesting that MC wasn’t fully into it. They mentioned the use of the dagger as a symbol of the MC's discomfort or pain, which they attributed to her being tense or unrelaxed. They also highlighted how MC seemed to try distracting him, like asking him to answer the phone or pointing out the snow.
Personally, I don’t agree with their interpretation, but I’m struggling to articulate why. Do you have any thoughts or interpretations that might help address this perspective?
Okay, um. First and foremost, thank you for sharing your thoughts and for trusting me with this question, but god did I literally react like this.
But, before we get into the analysis of the deed itself, let’s start first by grounding this discussion in the context of the product that is Love and Deepspace.
This is a 12+ rated action-adventure sci-fi otome game, which sets a clear expectation for the tone and themes presented. While otome games can and often do explore nuanced and occasionally darker themes (and this doesn't mean they have subpar writing just because they're meant for a wider audience), they are typically balanced with the age-appropriate rating in mind. In a banner like this that is intentionally designed to revolve around romantic sex, it’s essential to recognize that the developers aren’t aiming to create content that veers into dead dove or non-consensual territory. To suggest that the writers or developers would include something as serious as this, especially under the guise of a romance storyline, is not only a misinterpretation but also an extreme departure from the genre’s conventions and the intended tone of the game.
The entire theme of the event is centered on exploring romantic tension, intimacy, and the growing bond between characters in a way that’s exciting but ultimately safe and consensual. The "spice" in these scenarios is shockingly suggestive when you have the censorship in mind, and designed to make us scream, not to introduce dark or inappropriate themes that would completely undermine the romantic fantasy. To imply otherwise is frankly absurd and feels like reading intent where there is none.
1) Otome games, particularly those rated 12+, are crafted to engage players in a romantic and emotionally fulfilling experience. They're fluffy, they're angsty, they can be dark and heavy, but even in more mature otome games, themes of non-consent (when they appear) are explicitly framed and addressed with appropriate tonal shifts. This isn’t a game where heavy, disturbing themes are shoehorned into a romantic storyline for shock value.
2) If the developers were truly presenting a situation where non-consensual sex or coercion was involved, it would be a complete betrayal of the genre, the event’s theme, and the player’s trust. The "spice" banner would instantly alienate the audience it’s designed for and spark backlash, not romantic engagement. The devs know their audience and their ratings, and this simply isn’t the place or context for something so serious.
Now that we're done WHY this sort of scenario CANNOT be the case for infold's writing, let's go into the symbolism and the language used to describe the act.
Rafayel enters the room abruptly and begins kissing MC without preamble. While this could initially seem forward, the scene takes care to show that:
MC actively breaks away to question him multiple times. This demonstrates that she is neither overpowered nor silenced, she has the agency to assert herself.
When she bites his lip, Rafayel respects this boundary and answers her questions, and more importantly, stops being non-verbal and communicates. It shows he is responsive to her cues, even when caught up in the moment.
The dynamic here leans into playful tension rather than coercion. MC’s actions (breaking away and biting) and Rafayel’s response (answering her and continuing to interact with her desires) showcase a mutual push-and-pull, common in romantic tension scenes.
As the scene progresses, it becomes clear that MC is not just passively involved but actively reciprocates:
Holds his hand on her own to make him accept the call while they're being sexual. That's freaky.
She flips him over and begins initiating physical affection, kissing him from his ear to his chest. This is a strong indication that she is not only comfortable but also eager to participate in their intimacy.
The "punish" action selected by the player highlights MC’s playful intent and interest in this interaction, especially in the context of teasing Rafayel while his friend’s call looms in the background. This playful edge basically screams mutual enjoyment rather than discomfort.
And now to the main course
the dagger
Listen. As much as we've normalized that this is dick in puss moment, infold can't. So, they've got to use euphemisms to describe Rafayel's dick and what he does with it. The metaphor of the "dagger" isn't meant to represent his dick and it hurting her.
Soft sharpness seeps into me bit by bit: This describes the initial entry, slow and deliberate, emphasizing Rafayel’s care in ensuring the act is comfortable and mutual. "Soft" reflects the intensity of the sensation without implying pain by juxtaposing with "sharpness". It also tells you that "soft sharpness" is his dick and it's describing how gentle he's being. How can sharpness be soft? When you're careful with it that it doesn't feel "sharp" anymore. It's meant to be a stand-in for his cock. It's not describing pain. It's his peanis. The dong. The verb "seeps" here says all you need to know, it's not painful.
Then it (the <<soft sharpness>>) digs into me like a dagger: This directly describes Rafayel increasing his movement (or thrusting), with the "dagger" symbolizing THE MOVEMENT. You know what you do with a dagger? Stab with it. The imagery of a dagger isn’t meant to evoke harm, it’s a stand-in for the deliberate and rhythmic motion of penetration.
So, in smut-language, Rafayel was putting it in slowly, then half-way, he thrusted it all the way in, quickly.
And so, let's interpret the act going forward.
"Yellow sand as far as the eye can see is covered by snow"
Remember that Rafayel indirectly called MC "the snow" by saying "it was soft and beautiful" when she pointed out it was snowing in the desert? This metaphor reflects the emotional and physical dynamic between Rafayel and MC. The “yellow sand” symbolizes Rafayel and his inner turmoil, dryness, and insecurities. The “snow” represents MC and his soothing presence and how her love transforms and comforts him. They are also on top of each other lmao, he is being “covered” by her presence, fully surrendering to her.
"We approach the sea beyond the dunes despite the bumpiness"
The "sea" symbolizes climax or release, both physically and emotionally. The “bumpiness describes the physical intensity of their rhythm as they near this point together.
"Ripples travel along the undulating water's surface"
Yep. They're still going at it. This metaphor captures the sensations and physical effects of reaching climax. The ripples signify the aftereffects of release, the pleasure that radiates and envelops both of them. This is Rafayel and MC experiencing the peak of their intimacy, with the “undulating water” representing their synchronized pleasure and satisfaction.
"Swept into that endless blue"
Post-orgasm bliss. The overwhelming euphoria and serenity that comes with shared climax. It emphasizes the emotional connection they feel in this moment—boundless and all-encompassing.
"This isn't the abyss. Rather, it's a place filled with red flame lilies. This is Rafayel's color."
Now, this is MY interpretation, so take it with a grain of salt.
The "abyss" here symbolizes the emotional and creative void Rafayel has been experiencing--his lack of inspiration and his deep-rooted insecurities that leave him feeling hollow and disconnected. The abyss represents the blank canvas of his mind.
The transition from the abyss to the field of red flame lilies signifies a turning point for Rafayel. The flame lilies are not just a burst of inspiration, they are deeply tied to MC and the way she has reignited his passion BEYOND pain, both as an artist and as a person capable of love and connection.
By stating, “This is Rafayel’s color,” the narrative emphasizes that the flame lilies are uniquely his. They symbolize the return of his personal brand of creativity and vibrancy. It’s not about finding generic inspiration, it’s about rediscovering his own voice and perspective and MC doesn’t simply provide inspiration, she helps him unlock what was already inside him, and I believe, somehow witnesses the bursting of life inside him in her mind throughout the bond they share. MC serves as the guiding force that helps him reclaim his “color,” allowing him to see himself, and his art, in a new light.
Flame lilies are striking and bold, often symbolizing passion, love, and transformation. They’re an apt metaphor for Rafayel’s internal rebirth. Where the abyss was blank and desolate, the lilies are vibrant and overflowing with meaning, mirroring his renewed sense of self.
So, yeah.
And let’s be honest if you’re going to suggest non-consensual sex in a scene where MC flips him over, actively teases him, and metaphorically commands his every move through a glowing mark on his chest, then maybe it’s time to step away from the Reddit threads and reconnect with nature, maybe consider why you're intentionally picking on Rafayel like this.
He even asked, “Are you sure?” AND checked in with her later with "Are you comfortable?" -- all green flags here. If that’s not the gold standard of consent in an otome game, I don’t know what is.
I hope this was satisfactory, anon!!!!!

chapter warnings: use of profanity, mild argument, brief mentions of grooming/toxicity
the subsequent solitary walk of shame back to your apartment provides the perfect environment for you to think about what exactly you were going to say to naoya.
you’ve faced the facts. you don't love him anymore. the man you fell in love with is gone. in fact, there's a high chance that he never even existed, and naoya put up a good facade long enough for you to get attached, until he was sure you loved him too much to leave.
you look back on your entire relationship with the man. you had met him at megumi’s 15th birthday party. he said all the right things, telling you how you were much smarter, more mature than other girls your age. he gave all the right signals, and by the time you started officially dating on your 18th birthday, you were madly in love.
no one approved. not your friends, not your parents. hell, even megumi’s parents, toji and mina fushiguro, who had known you since middle school, told - no - begged you not to waste your youth on a man like naoya, and that if you didn't see it now, you'd learn when it was too late.
it's like a veil has been lifted off your eyes. you realise that it wasn't naoya’s age that made him mature. in all other aspects, he was like a pubescent boy, petulant, selfish and disrespectful.
but yuta… god. you don't think he has a single selfish bone in his body.
you know what you have to do.
“we’re not breaking up,” naoya says with certainty, looking at you as if you're stupid, high, concussed or all three.
“naoya,” you say placatingly, as if negotiating with a toddler. “we aren't compatible anymore. the signs have been there-”
“goddamnit, y/n, i said we are not breaking up!” naoya snaps. he always yells when he doesn't get his way. but again, so do you.
“don't raise your fucking voice at me!” you retort, before he can even finish his sentence.
“i don't want you anymore, i know damn well why you're so secretive and distant, and you know this isn't going anywhere, so why are you trying so hard to grasp onto this…concept of a relationship?!”
“because- this- you don't know what you're saying, baby,” is his response. he’s choosing to go the consolatory route in a last ditch effort to delay the inevitable.
“this is just a rough patch. we can get through this, we’ve done it before, yeah?”
you shake your head, determined not to let your resolve crumble. “no, naoya. come on. we’ve only been together a year, and we argue on and off like we're on the cusp of a divorce. you cheated on me. i...may have cheated on you. this-”
“wait,” he interrupts. “you what?”
damn your honesty.
“yeah,” you breathe out. the relationship is basically over, so you see no point in hiding it.
“when? it was your birthday, right? that's why you got so-” he begins, and you tune him out on his rant as he paces the length of your bedroom.
for all his flaws, naoya is impeccably sharp. he can practically sense your focus shifting before it even fully happens, and snaps his fingers in front of your face.
“hey,” he says. “don't do that, you know it pisses me off.”
“sorry,” you respond, more as a formality than anything else. “but, yeah. it's best if we don't continue this. you're better off with a girl…well, your age.”
naoya scoffs. “you don't say. last time i mess with a fickle brat.”
“last time i mess with a pedophile,” comes your grumbled retort.
the ordeal is more peaceful than you anticipated, and in mere minutes, he’s gone, leaving you alone with your thoughts.

Oh 100% Itachi is a parental figure to Sasuke. And you don’t even have to look at Itachi to see it.
Sasuke treats him more like a father sometimes than a brother. Especially given the overall narrative that this series usually establishes about father-son relationships, which to be fair are also reflected a bit in teacher-student dynamics but nowhere near as much.
And that narrative overall is not unique to Naruto but is a rather typical shonen trope thing about having a goal to supersede your father, to best him at his own game, or to otherwise surpass him. (This is a deeply cultural thing in Japan…but I am not going there today).
And while occasionally brothers do stand in for this as ordinary brothers, usually if a sibling, trope wise, has to step into the “you must live to surpass me” role, it’s because they’re narratively a paternal figure.
And like I said, Sasuke’s got all the clues here. He:
Is always looking for Itachi’s attention, be it positive or negative
Obeys his brother without even thinking about doing otherwise even long after the massacre*
Pre massacre, he’s clingy and needy towards Itachi because his father won’t give him the time of day, but also because canonically that’s just how he’s always been. Sometimes babies really do pick their parents. (I’ve been in that situation, sort of, otherwise I’d of said it seemed unrealistic. But no, sometimes a little baby just says “no, YOU get to be my mom!” And there’s really nothing you can do 🤷♀️ this happened twice, with my niece AND grand nephew.)
Sasuke is always striving to best his brother, even after the massacre, like when he was training with the Kunai, trying to beat Itachi’s record. Yeah that’s a typical sibling thing, but in the bigger context, like after Itachi’s death when Sasuke is once again trying to out-do him, it feels more shonen-trope-fatherly to me. (Though I will concede that I only really watch Shonen that leans in the general direction of Seinen, which is to say more mature themes that twist the typical Shonen narrative; Naruto both is and isn’t an exception to this. Point is I’m biased lol)
* in reference to two:
There is one poignant scene in which Sasuke doesn’t kill Naruto explicitly because he doesn’t want to do what Itachi tells him to anymore. He then semi reneges on this later and decides that severing the bond is more important— he’s still technically not doing it for the reasons Itachi said, but he has changed his mind all the same.
After Itachi dies, Sasuke decides to go counter to his brother’s wishes, but he’s ultimately still doing what he thinks Itachi wants…sort of.
Now, before I go here, I want to say that this is entirely my interpretation, and you’re free to disagree.
But when Itachi tells Sasuke to hate him more, that he’ll only get stronger if he harbors more hate…a lot of Itachi haters take him literally here, and/or are very confused by it. But in my mind, what Itachi is actually saying as a deeply traumatized 18 year old with limited life experience who has just come back to the place that started it all and probably isn’t in a great place is:
I want you to hate me as much as I hate myself.
And, in particular reference to the “you’re weak if you can’t hate with all your heart” thing (I don’t have the panels on hand) :
I want you to throw away or erase everything you ever cared about just like I did.
As someone who has dealt with severely angry and angsty teens before, this is the message I heard. He wasn’t really goading Sasuke on, insofar as he was looking for someone to commiserate with. And nobody else but Sasuke would genuinely understand. I don’t think it was a planned response, personally— Itachi wasn’t looking for Sasuke, and didn’t appear to know that Naruto was his teammate. So my bets are on that being an impulsive reaction to a stressful situation and Itachi trying really hard to put a wall between them while inadvertently pleading for closeness.
But the point is that Sasuke heard what he meant, not what he said. Because he knows his brother. And Sasuke did exactly that — threw away everything, just like Itachi, severed his bonds, just like Itachi, became a rogue, just like Itachi, etc.
You could very well argue that Sasuke just went and did that if his own accord trying to feel closer to Itachi, which I would completely believe. But either way it’s far more son-father than brother-brother in its dynamic. Don’t get me wrong they absolutely have their bro moments, like when Sasuke is chasing Edo tensei Itachi down and calling him a big fat liar essentially, and being a complete child while Itachi basically rolls his eyes at the Drama 🤣 it’s both funny and sad.
But overall there is certainly a sense of paternalism in their relationship. But it’s not solely defined by Itachi, which makes me wonder how anyone ever missed it.
Ever since @shinoposting made a post about Itachi being a more parental figure to Sasuke a couple of months ago, I've seen several angry responses to it, with the sentiment that "Itachi fans want to make Itachi look good and their parents look bad."
Listen.
A five-year-end boy is left alone on the night of the kyuubi attack with his toddler brother.
He doesn't even seem disconcerted, but instead promises "I'll always protect you, no matter what."
Itachi is the one who sits with him, despite his busy schedule, despite grieving Shisui, and despite being burdened with what's more than he could handle, he took time to check on Sasuke's report card.
Itachi was also ready to abandon his first Anbu mission for Sasuke's sake. It was after this their father even recalls he had to go to the Academy.
Itachi "ignored" Sasuke. And, like, what do people even expect from someone who's been this much burdened that isolating himself is the only thing he can do to protect Sasuke and his innocence?
Yet, Itachi doesn't know exactly how not to be distant. That's a sign of how much he was suffering at this point. He was "bad" after the massacre, but before that, he was kind and sweet, who cared about nothing but Sasuke's wellbeing.

Hello, I'm not sure if you'll see this or not but I thought I would ask so I know everyone is excited about BTS year this year and is eager to anticipate their return, and I kind of wanted to talk about the infantilization of BTS prior to their MS and when they come out, so I do know at their core, BTS will still be the same loveable people, but my thoughts are running on who defines what infantilism is when it comes to the boys, for example: I was being accused of infantilizing Jimin and Jungkook because I found some of the things they do cute and adorable, I mean, they have cute moments right? (AYS for example) I still acknowledge they are grown adults and respect them as the adults they are, but now I'm questioning if these things that I'm finding cute really are babying them and I don't want to treat them like that/that way, so i wanted to know if you wouldn't mind sharing your thoughts on this?
Hi anon, how are you? Happy New Year!
Oh, this is an interesting question.
I think what’s happening in the case you’re describing is that the people saying that to you don’t really understand what “infantilisation” means.
Infantilisation happens when we treat or perceive someone as if they lack the maturity or ability to be a responsible adult, regardless of their actual actions. For example, if someone dismisses their ability to act, their opinions, or their choices by labelling them as "childish" or incapable, that’s infantilisation.
A fandom example is when people think they have the right to decide for X members whether they should stay with the agency, collaborate with certain artists, or interact with certain members. It happens when someone undermines a member’s decision-making ability, treating them like a child who doesn’t know what’s best for them. It’s not about finding them cute or endearing – it’s about treating them as though they can’t differentiate between right and wrong or make their own choices about what to say or do. That’s the kind of infantilisation many of us criticise in fandoms and, honestly, on the internet in general when it comes to fans of public figures.
In your case, what you’re describing sounds more like appreciation for their natural charm and personality rather than denial of their maturity. In Korean culture, there’s something called aegyo, which is basically acting cute – almost like a small child being adorable. It’s a big part of Korean entertainment, not just in K-pop, and BTS is known for doing it too. Sometimes it’s their personality shining through, and other times it’s part of their persona. You can usually tell the difference depending on the context.
So finding someone’s actions endearing without dismissing their adulthood is perfectly fine. For example, enjoying how Jimin and Jungkook interacted during AYS (or their playful dynamics in general) doesnt mean you’re erasing their adulthood. They were often super cute during the show, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. That’s not infantilisation – that’s you finding their actions adorable or cute.
Before Jin and Hobi were discharged, I wondered if that side of them would change – if they’d stop being these cheekily adorable and sometimes mischievous people for their fans. But it hasn’t. From what we’ve seen, they’re the same as they were before, just with a year or two more life experience. That’s it. We don’t know if they’ve changed in private, but honestly, that’s none of our business.
Jungkook’s December Wlive was a perfect example of my point. He behaved just as he always has in his lives, especially over the past few years, and more than a few fans called him cute and silly or said they just wanted to squish him because he brings out those emotions in his fans. That doesn’t mean we think he’s a child – some people do, and that is infantilisation – but most of us simply find him endearing at times.
The misunderstanding of terms or labels also reminds me of how some people in the fandom label anyone who happens to see a member in public, take a picture, or mention it as a sasaeng. Or how some even describe certain fansites as sasaengs. A sasaeng is an obsessive fan who invades a celebrity’s personal life and privacy; in this case, is someone going to extreme lengths to follow or interact with idols. A fan spotting a member in public and taking a picture or just mentioning seeing them in X place isn’t being a sasaeng. This behaviour of misunderstanding terms or labels is not new.
I don’t know what’s going on lately, whether it’s newer fans or something else, but I’ve seen people on social media trying to police things that really don’t need policing or making others feel bad for things that are pretty standard in fandoms like this. For example – and I think this wasn’t specifically our fandom but a K-pop stan in general – someone tweeted criticising people who collect photocards. Like, why? Why should anyone feel bad or embarrassed about collecting photocards? Collecting is one of the most normal hobbies ever. Some people collect photocards, others collect toy cars, and some even collect women! (That last one should honestly be a crime, but that’s another conversation.) Why is it okay for men to collect photocards of sports players, sorry, I mean “sports cards” but not for people to collect photocards of artists? The double standards in society are wild.
Anon, I think it’s amazing that you’re so self-aware that you’re checking in with others to see if your behaviour might be problematic. That says a lot about the kind of person you are. In this case, I don’t think you have anything to worry about – but the people who told you that definitely do.

P*rn ☆ Chapter 1, a familiar stranger
Masterlist Word count: 1.2 k Sylus x Fem!Reader
Summary: You have been following a spicy content creator by the name of Red Crow for some time now. Nothing could’ve prepared you for what would happen when he moves into the apartment next door.
Mature content under the cut. No graphic content yet.
∘₊✧───────────────────────────────────────✧₊∘
'Did Rafayel find someone to rent my apartment yet,' Zayne questions as he puts two mugs of tea on your coffee table. You shrug in response.
'Haven't heard anything yet, but knowing him, it'll probably be soon.' Zayne smiles at your sulking expression. He reaches out to ruffle a hand through your hair. You quickly smack his hand away and stare at him with pretend anger.
'How have you been holding up without me?' That question is loaded, and he knows it. For the past four years, he has been your neighbor. But he has always been much more than that.
When he noticed you were living on your own, he would sometimes bring over leftovers. Some days you would come home to a note taped on your door with a request to be quiet because he had a long shift and another even longer shift coming up. You started doing the same, but with notices if you had someone over or were doing something that could cause noise. Eventually, you two got to talking and formed a familial relationship. It always felt like you had a big brother looking out for you.
Ever since he moved to the next city over to work in another hospital, you have missed him tons. Sometimes it hurts when you realize you can't just walk two steps from your front door and be talking to him. Meeting up is even more strenuous than it was before, and you miss him like crazy. It's not just the proximity though, no, it's also that you don't know everything going on in his life anymore. He's doing amazing things, meeting amazing people, helping to make the world a better place, and you barely know the names of his closest colleagues.
'I'm fine,' but your voice betrays you, trembling throughout your words. Zayne's eyes look worried, and his hand moves to touch your shoulder to comfort you. 'I'm fine, really. Just getting used to being alone in the city again.'
'You're not alone anymore. You've got Tara, and you get along alright with that new colleague of yours, right? Jeremiah?'
'I know, it's just...' He reaches out to pull you into his chest.
'I understand. I miss you too.'
'I just hope the next person is nice too,' you mumble against his shirt while he gently rubs your back. All this feels so normal, so nice. You're not sure if you'll ever fully get over not living next to Zayne anymore. It was perfect, and now it's gone. You can't blame him though. This was a very important step for his career and you're glad he did it, it just makes you feel like you're stuck in the same place all over again.
Everything just feels so stagnant, so normal. Like nothing ever changes. You can only tell that time has passed by your growing fingernails and the dust building up on your windowsill... You should really clean. It's been too long.
∘₊✧───────────────────────────────────────✧₊∘
'This is nice,' Luke awes as he walks into Sylus’ new apartment. The place is completely empty and there's a bit of an echo, but he's right. The place is nice. That doesn't mean Sylus has to be happy about it. In fact, he's not even close to being done groaning and whining about being doxed for the third time.
Sylus grumbles: 'My last place was nice.' Kieran nudges him over the threshold of the apartment.
'Stop whining you big baby. Shit happens.' Sylus turns to him with a death glare. Kieran rolls his eyes and holds up his hands in defeat. 'Sorry man. There really isn't much else to say about it.'
Sylus knows damn well that he's right, he's just not ready to admit it. That last place was a little bit special to him. It was the first place he moved into on his own after a long relationship. He knew his job would always be an obstacle in any relationship, but he thought she had gotten over it. She clearly hadn't.
When his popularity skyrocketed, she left him. Told him she couldn't keep sharing him, no matter how many times he told her there was no one to share him with. She was part of the reason he started doing solo stuff. He even offered her to stop doing it. It wasn't even a big deal to him. That didn't matter to her.
Luke and Kieran tried to get him back to who he was, yet even they couldn't ignore the fact that he became a little different. He distanced himself, became harsher, became colder. He wasn't particularly rude or anything, just a bit off-putting if you don't know him.
'Anyway, I'm going to let your neighbor know we're moving you in this week,' Kieran states and quickly leaves the apartment. Luke gives Sylus a look.
'What,' Sylus snaps at him.
'Shouldn't you join him?' Sylus raises an eyebrow and crosses his arms. Suddenly, he looks a lot bigger and a lot more intimidating.
'I just got doxed. Why would I go around introducing myself to everyone?'
Luke just shrugs. Sylus antics don't do much to him anymore after knowing him so long. 'Fair enough.'
∘₊✧───────────────────────────────────────✧₊∘
The doorbell buzzes. It's ever so slightly longer than the average person would press a doorbell, and so ever so slightly more annoying. Mayorly more annoying because you were just dozing off cuddled up to Zayne on the couch. It has been a long time since that happened.
You groan and shift, but Zayne tightens his grip. 'Don't go.' His voice is gravelly, tired, a little strained. For a little while you're considering it, but then the bell buzzes a second time. Longer this time.
'It's just for a second,' you whisper back. He nods and his grip loosens. You get off his chest and quickly shuffle to the front door. When you open it, you have to take a few seconds to digest the picture in front of you. 'Kieran? Why are you here? Does Tara need something?'
It seems his head short-circuits just like yours has as he takes a few seconds to answer. 'Eh, no. I didn't know you live here. I'm just... I'm helping a friend move in. I'm doing a round to warn people about the noise.'
'Oh, good to know. Thank you. Who's your friend?'
'His name is Sylus but he's a pretty private person, so I can't promise you he'll stop by to introduce himself.'
'Fair enough,' you respond while you think back to how Zayne used to be. It was a similar situation. Took more than half a year before you two would even greet each other when passing in the hallway. 'Well, give Tara my best. I'll probably see you soon.'
'I will. See ya.'
'Who was that,' Zayne asks from the couch.
'Friend of the new neighbor. He's moving in this week.' You grab your phone from the coffee table to check if Rafayel send anything about a new tenant, instead you see a notification from Red Crow's socials. A new post.
"No smutty chapter this Friday. I have a busy week. Maybe if you beg, I'll record myself getting off."

Okay, let's talk Eric Frankenstein.
I've seen plenty of fans on here all but excuse Eric's actions as the actions of a child, even in scenes from the present day. To build on this post and many others like it, it is true... to a certain extent.
(btw, this response isn't targeted to who i'm reblogging- just in general to the response on this show from people all over the internet, and i think this post is a good building block-)
I think the analysis across the internet of Dr. Frankenstein's bad parenting is 100% correct- he did not provide a good environment for the Bride nor Eric to grow in. But, like any other person, you will be a product of your environment but once you've become an adult, it is your responsibility to learn and grow from it. If you do not and remain an entitled man-child, you can pinpoint the root of the issue but you cannot excuse it to a certain point.
The same case is here with the Bride and Eric.
I've seen countless people claim that, while Eric's actions are wrong, he has a child's brain stuck in an adult body- and i find that to be infantilization. It begs the question, "Why do we continue to infantilize men?" Don't forget, the Bride and Eric are the product of the same man, the same home. In the present day, they're BOTH close to 200 years old. What is the reason why the Bride has grown, and Eric has not? The Bride is never acknowledged as anything other than an adult woman with a sound mind (which she is), while Eric has ALSO lived 200 years, most of them after the Doctor's death, and has many lived experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. So why do we use this excuse for Eric and not the Bride? He wasn't raised right, but neither was the Bride. The Bride is grown, a capable adult, with empathy (despite her reluctance in showing it) and not as much psychopathic behavior as Eric has displayed... depending, but it is with a different context... the Bride kills a man brutally for abusing a s*x worker and potentially being a threat to Nina, while Eric kills, often, for no apparent reason or from entitlement, or insecurity.
So why do we continue to excuse Eric's actions as anything but as the actions of an entitled, violently misogynistic, delusional man? He may have been a child trapped in a Monster's body in flashbacks, but in the present day the same issues persist. Once again, it has been close to (or over, not entirely sure) 200 years. More time than any human with an equally shitty childhood is granted, and slightly more time than even the Bride has had to mature.
Eric kills Dr. Frankenstein, not to save the Bride, but out of anger, because he views the Bride as a possession, HIS possession, and at that point in time, it might be correct to argue that he has the brain of a child having a tantrum.
But then the behavior persists. For almost 200 more years.
In the present day, we see that Eric has not grown from the person he was in the Bride's flashbacks- he still feels entitled to the Bride.
The Bride, to Eric, is a possession, and he is the rightful owner. She was made for him, and that is that. He surrounds himself with (presumably, from the context) yacht girls/sex workers when we see him in the present day, because he still, after so long, only views women as shiny, beautiful things to look at. In flashbacks, he is not interested in a wife that even knows how to speak, let alone read, or think. He does not want a woman who can speak or think. He does not want a "woman". He wants a possession, a shiny figurine to have on display.
We see the progression of the Bride's and Eric's "relationship", again, through flashbacks- going through nearly 200 years of him stalking her, and her telling him "No" over and over. He never listens, he never learns. He CHOOSES not to see, he chooses to be steadfast in what he believes- that she belongs to him.
I would say that 200 years is enough to learn the meaning of "No." We are shown time and time again that Eric does not WANT to know better. He chooses to live in his delusion. Bogdona begs him to stay, that the Bride does not love him, but that Bogdona loves him. Still, Eric sees being alone as worse than death. But what he cannot see is that, he was not alone with her, and if he had chosen to stay, she wouldn't have to live alone and he would probably be better off there than chasing a fantasy of a woman who in reality, doesn't want anything to do with him. And so, he kills Bogdona. Yes, it is childish in the way that he still views love as a fantasy. Yes, in his twisted mind, he is doing her a favor, and yes, it is still in the earlier days of his existence. But as time passes, Eric still lives in delusion. We can see him talking to Rick Flag Sr., equating both of their love lives to romantic movies. That is because he lives in a fantasyland.
Yes, Eric has the mindset of a child, but let's all analyze that through the lens of your modern age incel, rather than equating him to an actual child when he is not. He speaks eloquently, and he's very worldly about many things. He's been to many different places, and has had experiences with many different people, such as Bogdana. So has the Bride. That is why, when we see him in the present and he still has no understanding of social cues, boundaries, or consent, we should be viewing it how it really is- Eric is not a child, he is the same as a human incel playing video games in his parents' basement. It is not that he is not capable of growth or understanding, he is just as capable as the Bride, he chooses to remain stagnant, entitled, and like a child throwing a tantrum.
Eric is not a child, he is an adult man, and like many adult men, he still has childish tendencies that present themselves in the worst ways- feeling as though women belong to him, owe him something, are NOTHING else outside of him. And it is by CHOICE.
If the Bride can be a capable adult who understands boundaries and doesn't reek of entitlement, then so can Eric.
ERIC IS A CHILD MONSTER
We have all somewhat forgotten what made Frankenstein's monster fascinating and disturbing at the same time, and James Gunn with Creature Commandos has managed to remind us of that for good measure.
Being a childlike creature, a child in its own right but with devastating physical potential makes its every action unpredictable and threatening.
The creature's first words, along with the effects of human gestation, also identify it as a human child. Picking up on Mary Shelley's book: "His eyes—if eyes they may be called—were fixed on me. His jaw opened, and he muttered some inarticulate sounds while a grin wrinkled his cheeks […] one hand stretched out to detain me, but I escaped and rushed downstairs”. Despite Frankenstein’s response of revulsion, the Creature’s initial behavior seems very much like that of an infant, reaching out with a grin and a gurgle for his parent.
Although Victor Frankenstein reacts with revulsion, the creature's initial behavior seems very much like that of an infant, reaching out with a smile and a gurgle toward its parent.
For all intents and purposes in Creature Commandos we find this version of the monster with an extremely selfish mentality. It has no problem threatening its creator with death, demanding a wife like a child demands to have the toy at the supermarket. If he wants something then he will have it; human lives are worth only when it suits him. The Bride for Eric is a perfect wife, he describes her as we might describe a figurine, we like her and we take her. It is also doubly disturbing how Eric manages to talk amicably about his obsession, as if it were totally normal to own Bride all to himself, a love he says is complex: "My bride, she plays these little fetch me games, but she knows inside, as i do, that we are destined to be together ."
Just as in the series, Frankenstein's creature would not have become monstrous if Victor had taken care of him and provided him with a nurturing environment once he brought him to life, as a parent would do for their child.
Victor's neglect of the creature in the book, which we recall describes him as "more horrible than belongs to humanity," sets him up to be deprived forever of any sense of belonging.
A big thought to say that certain toxic and possessive mentalities can be beautifully avoided if one engages with education. And I will repeat myself as always but as the beginning of the new DC universe in the movie and TV world, I couldn't have asked for better ❤️
But hey, this series is the same as Guardians of the Galaxy so it's not worth watching.cit
(I WAS SARCATIC HERE DON'T WORRY )

A study on Lance's underrated role on the team.
Or, "Yes, there was a Space Mom"
Some time ago, I made a post saying that, the closest thing to a "Space Mom" the paladins ever had was actually Lance and I wanted to make a post elaborating more on why I thought so.
Now this is not me saying that we have to put this Team in neat nuclear family boxes, even Shiro, the one who the fandom collectively agrees to call "Space Dad" doesnt fit perfectly the Team Dad trope, but what I mean is that, this role is one that most of the time it appears naturally in any group of friends/people.
So, lets start with seeing how TVTropes describes what is a Team Mom:
"In an ensemble show, especially of the fighting kind, there needs to be someone to hold this Ragtag Bunch of Misfits together before they kill each other or wander off into the woods like so many Player Characters."
"The Team Mom basically acts as the mother figure for everyone else in the group, regardless of age or family relations."
"Although the role itself is traditionally female, the overprotective dad or older brother can qualify for Team Mom"
"They are by definition never the loner, and will in fact tend to be the one who pulls them into the cast's orbit as a Sixth Ranger. If anyone can break through and bring about a Heel–Face Turn or Cooldown Hug, it's them"
"if any of their surrogate children or siblings are threatened, they can snap into angry Mama Bear mode and kick some ass"
Basically, this role is less about gender and age and more about how the character threats the rest of their peers.
It is hard to imagine resident flirty goofball Lance as fitting in a role like this since, usually, characters that are referred to as the "Team Mom", seem a bit more responsible and mature.
And, admittedly, it is a role that he has to grow into a bit, but even in the first episode he already had some shades of this:
Covering for Pidge and taking the brunt of Iverson's anger, running to aid someone who had fallen from one of the pods (before knowing it was a pretty girl) and protecting Coran from a explosion.
Overall through the show, Lance actually ends up being very caring and protective towards his teammates.
I was unsure on how I wanted to do this analysis since, there is actually quite a lot I want to talk about, so I decided to highlight how Lance acts with every member of the team from this angle.
Keith
The Lion Switch and Keith stepping to pilot Black is what, for a lot of fans, kickstarts Lance's arc of becoming a more mature individual and team player.
But even as early as s1, we do have moments of Lance keeping Keith grounded, like when he stops him from being reckless and hurting the balmera.
In season 3, when Keith is dealing with the loss of Shiro, everyone present decides to turn to Lance to handle it, Lance doesnt even notice what they are doing and instead goes to talk to Keith.
It is interesting that, even Coran and Allura (the adult and the diplomat) also look at him to handle the situation. And it's not a case of just looking at the next person in line, since Pidge is very clearly looking in his direction.
They eventually join to talk to Keith too but not before Lance makes the first approach.
And even when it was clear he really wanted to be chosen, Lance still quickly went to support Black's choice and thus, Keith's new position.
Like Allura tells us later, this is what makes Red, the literal right hand lion to call for Lance.
"You value a strong team"
Because thats what makes Lance really shine. His utter love and care for his team.
Even when he was clearly disappointed about not being chosen he decides to forget his own hurt to instead show to his unsure teammate.
And support he did.
After Keith goes to follow Lotor and makes the team enter a difficult situation while Allura is struggling with Blue, it's Lance the one who manages to make him stop and return.
Keith returns with Lance and shows he is regretful of his actions, one would think that Lance would take this chance to scold his "rival" but instead, he just acknowledges that Keith did mess up but now they are going to fix it. Showing Keith he is not alone in this.
After this incident Lance keeps being very vocally supportive of Keith (when he agrees with his orders).
And will usually follow his orders to a T. For example in "The Journey Within" Keith made a system for the team to sound off every certain period of time, and when Keith stops seeing a point to it, Lance keeps going and the team follows his lead.
It is also interesting to mention, these moments of Lance speaking softly to Keith when he is freaking out.
Another example would be when they get captured and Keith calls the name of his teammates, Lance being the first name he calls and the first to answer.
This ended up being quite long and the 10 pic limit doesnt help either so I will be splitting this in parts.
Keith and Allura's section is, unsurprisingly, quite long but I managed to gather a little evidence to talk about Lance's relationship with all the team.
Hope you guys enjoyed this first part

I know that it's common fanon belief to see Starlo as the younger sibling between him and Orion, but I actually like the idea of Starlo being the older brother and what it means for his family dynamic. Generally, the older sibling is expected to be the more responsible and mature sibling in the family. There's this expectation that the older sibling sets an example for the younger sibling(s) and that they'll look after the family/business once the parents get too old to do so themselves. So, what does it mean when the older sibling sorta betrays those familial expectations by behaving immaturely and ditching the family to do their own thing?
I'm trying to figure out how to put this into words in a clear and concise way, but I feel like if it's a case of Starlo being the younger brother, then there's this sorta "Ah, that's just the younger brother acting like a kid, y'know how it is. He'll grow out of it" dynamic, whereas if Starlo is the older brother, then it's more of a "Okay, he should've grown out of this by now, why's he still acting like this? Even Orion is more mature than him; what is going on?" sorta deal. (This frustration would be especially felt by Orion, who has to pick up Starlo's slack in his stead because his older brother isn't mature enough to work like he's supposed to!!!)
These are just personal musings, don't take my word as gospel! You can still do tons of interesting things with the Sunnyside family while having Starlo be the younger brother and Orion the older one. I just find myself gravitating more towards seeing Starlo as the older sibling.
#idk how much grounds i have to speak on this because I'm the youngest sibling in my family and I'm not all that close with my older sibling#(nothing crazy going on there. we just grew into different people and we don't interact much in our daily lives)#but like. with older siblings there's generally all these heavier expectations around you. you're supposed to be what your#younger sibling looks up to. you're supposed to set the bar that the rest of your siblings get measured against.#so what does it mean when--from the family's perspective--you set the bar pretty low by running off from your family/responsibilities#and dedicate your life to LARPing as a cowboy?#obviously Starlo's family loves him. but they don't seem all too supportive. Orion is annoyed by his brother's antics.#Crestina expects him to grow out of it. Solomon is the most positive about it but that's bc he thinks that Starlo did it to#indirectly save the family business.#they only seem to come around post true-pacifist when Starlo opens up to them more and they sell corn in the W.E.#there's something that's lingering on the tip of my tongue about this but i can't articulate it.#something something age =/= maturity and all that? i guess?

{I could see Kyle wanted to say more in response, but he decided to bite his tongue and keep it inside. Honestly though, what more was there to say? I mean, I confessed my feelings for him when I blurted out why I left Roswell in the dust after high school, Kyle got mad at me in response, which honestly, made complete sense... I was mad at me too, but what's done is done. I was a headstrong, overly dramatic teenager, at the time. I had acted impulsively out of emotion more so than logic. Of course over time I realized how silly and immature I had been during that time in my life, but by then, so much time had passed that I was embarrassed to return to Roswell. Either way, that brings us to Matt and Lena's engagement announcement, which reluctantly brought me back to Roswell. So far no part of my return went the way I expected it to, but at least Kyle and I had the chance to hash things out, and he's here with me now. Lucky for me since he had every reason not to forgive me for leaving Roswell without ever telling him how I felt about him. In my defense though, what would it have changed back then? The answer was, nothing. It wouldn't have changed a thing because Kyle was head over heels for Liz, so all my confession would have done was created an awkward halt to our friendship and bond because the feelings weren't reciprocated. Again though, all of this is in the past. I couldn't change any of my choices, even if I wanted to, so there was really no point in dwelling on it anymore... With that thought in mind, I just wanted a clean, fresh start with Kyle. The chance for him and I to get to know each other as the mature adults that we both are now} Sure... If you don't think Liz will mind, that would be great. I love those milkshakes. {I said with a smile as I remained rested closely at Kyle's side here in my hospital bed} Fingers are crossed that your boss gives you the okay. {I hated hospitals, so the idea of Kyle leaving me here by myself overnight left me a little uneasy, but I also didn't want to put Kyle in a bad position with his boss or to get him in trouble, so if he'd have to leave when visiting hours ended, I'd understand}
Continued
@iwannabewooed
Kyle knew he had the track record of being the man that messed up. Of being the guy that lets you down, probably the main reason why Liz and I didn’t work out. Was I proud of who I was in high school? No I was a total jerk. I didn’t care about other people. I had been the guy that purposely humiliated you, I was the guy that picked on the losers, I had no path. Until I took my head out of the gutter, until I got my act together. Lydia had been the constant, my best friend and last night the way I left the hospital, the fight between us reminded me of the guy I fought so hard to stray from.
I was angry yes, I was mad that she never felt i had the right to know how she felt. I was mad at myself for not picking up on the cues. She was my best friend and I never wondered if she felt that way about me. I never felt that way; probably because I never felt that spark. I was focused on Liz at the time, but now I was a doctor. I had my life planned out in front of me. I cared for other people daily, I saved lives and now although I wasn’t the blonde’s doctor. I did in fact stand by her side. I didn’t leave her hospital room until last night. But I suppose it helped give me the clarity I needed. It didn’t help I had my mouth on a beer bottle most of the night. But Sometimes we feel passionately when we drink, our truths come roaring out. Plus Matt and even Maria and Liz spelled it out to me.
I promised not to utter the words Lydia was in town, or that she was in a car wreck, so I didn’t I was vague about my question, and I got the information I wanted. I was the blinded fool in High School. But now I wanted to be smart, Lydia once she was finished with the wedding she was heading back to where she lived? Which honestly I didn’t know. I didn’t want to put my heart on the line unless she gave me the reason to. And I felt it the thought of never seeing her face again, the thought of walking away it scared me, but also brought on that sense of sadness I wanted the blonde in my life. I didn’t want to wonder if i was making the right choice, for once I stopped thinking despite the banging headache i had from the night before.
I had the words framed out in my mind as I stood there, Luckily I didn’t fumble as I spoke. That would’ve been an epic fail. I stood at the doorward because just in case this speech went south; the male wanted to be prepared, but he saw it. The thoughtful look on her face, the way she nodded and waited a minute after his lips closed to speak. He had this speech in the bag; he wanted to get to know Lydia now, not try to remake what we could’ve been in High school. I definitely was the better version of myself now.
A curve of a smile tugged at the corners of my lips as Slowly stepped further into the room. Feelings find you; to be brave to leap forward was another story. “ Well, I did always save the best speeches for those that will remember them.” A tickle in his throat as he held the lilies behind his back. Us trying? We could always start at the wedding; plus he could just imagine Matt’s I told you so face if he were to show up with Lydia on his arm. She kept uttering how she loved him, and he felt that flutter the knots forming in his stomach. He wondered how? He hated who he was back then, so he felt himself uttering his own thoughts. “ “ I have to ask how? How did you love me back then? I was a jerk, I didn’t care about anyone?” The disbelief in his voice as he inched closer until his knees had brushed against the rim of the bed she laid in.
“ I couldn’t come empty handed especially after I was a jerk last night.” A guilt glance flashed over his features but barely. He soon extended the set of lilies out to the blonde. “ Plus just in case my speech failed I needed a plan B.” A plan B let’s just say that only went as far as the flowers; he only had one shot and it appeared he succeeded.

something something about autism masking and how it relates to Mystreet Garroth’s character development. something about how Mystreet Aphmau “Has Never Masked Her Chaotic Audhd Once In Her Life” McGee influences Garroth to crawl out of his posh boy shell and goof off and run wild
#aphmau#Mystreet#garroth romeave#garroth ro'meave#aphmau garroth#i feel like Mystreet Garroth has two different personalities. there’s his first personality that he has in PDH that’s just MCD Garroth with#a little more awkward cute teenage boy and a little less deep seated anger#he’s emotionally mature. he’s gentle. he’s soft. he’s the voice of wisdom. he’s responsible and kind#and overall a very sophisticated lad#fit for a Prince#and then you have his second personality later on that’s the goofy 0 brain cells idiot that runs into walls#in my head I like to blend the two. Garroth as a character in all works is both and it depends on the circumstance which comes out#I don’t like Garroth being reduced to such toddler level stupid though. I feel like that’s something Zane specifically made up to bully him#and it’s not true#or shouldn’t be at least#he’s not! he’s extremely emotionally intelligent and emotionally mature#in my versions he’s not a childish person#he can be petty!! he can be deeply insecure and miss important truths because of that#but emotional intelligence is his strong suit#which contrasts his two clever and sharp-witted brothers#especially Zane who has net zero emotional intelligence#he can be really fucking serious and sophisticated and mature. but he can also be an autistic silly little guy who goes :3#that’s how you know he feels safe <3

I miss them so bad (Dick and Damian)
#ramblings of a lunatic#dc comics#damian wayne#dick grayson#ITS JUST NOT THE SAME MAN#idk i was reading nightwing must die (again...) bc i was in a funk and saw another post saying how fans exaggerate the closeness btwn them#and on the one hand i get it. there is a very rosy portrayal of their relationship you'll come across in fanon#and they weren't very close at the beginning of their relationship#but man. reading Nightwing must die again was like#YES they fight. damian instigates it and while dick tries to exercise patience he does fight back/lash out on occasion#but despite all that it's still emphasized how important the two are to each other#when dick is forced to picture a future where he's lost his way he pictures damian being the one to bring him back#not necessarily bc damian is his favorite person on the planet but bc he gave damian robin. for a lot of practical reasons-#-but also bc how far damians come is (i think at least based on this arc) a testament to dick that hes doing Something right#both as a hero/person#damian is more than just a burden saddled on him (although there's an element of that in their batman and robin run)#he's also a last remaining connection to bruce when he's gone (remembering where he comes from) AND he's training damian+#-his own way! with a dash of tough love and workaholic spirit inherited but also a lot of patience and focus on being More than the darkness#idc what ppl say nightwing must die makes sense for these two. its a retcon but one that works imo#that dick buried his head in the sand about how much damian meant/the responsibility he had to him bc it was a commitment he was afraid of#and how damian ultimately was a point of maturation for dick even if he went back to being Nightwing#they were SO goddamn close and now they're still close but only in ways that are implied#and their bond is deemphasized in comparison to each others bond w/ say bruce. which i think is a shame#it was a wrinkle! a fun wrinkle that the batfamily had that in some ways dick understood damian better than Bruce-#-even if he didn't feel like he could handle the responsibility of raising him full time#it kills me that bc of the n52 we never got the handover of the batman mantle (and damian) from dick to bruce#next nightwing writer...include a flashback to that moment AND have damian appear in the book in present....AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!#anyway. dick is damians brother but also damian a little bit imprinted on him like a baby duck and its rubbed off on dick#they're partners they're mentor mentee but most importantly they were batman and robin. and they were the greatest#NOT bc it was all peaches and roses but bc they cared for each other exponentially despite all that

the amount of mental trauma boboiboy has is astounding.
kid has never catch a break since the day he got his power watch, especially with the weight of the whole galaxy on his shoulders, and the amount of times the descendants of the first elemental users have seen boboiboy as their ancestors AND retakka… yikes…
i’m glad he’s deciding to stay on earth for the time being, lord knows he needs it 😭😭😭
he has yet to get the all third stage elementals, and also i would like to see the origins of the others’ powers too. i think it’d be interesting to see where yaya’s, ying’s, gopal’s and fang’s powers came from.
so we’ll see how that pans out (hopefully my boy’s gonna go clock in with the tapops psychiatrist before he does any shenanigans)
can’t wait for boboiboy galaxy season 3~~
#boboiboy#boboiboy galaxy#boboiboy galaxy season 2#i think they should all get mandated therapy sessions#fang too cuz he lost his entire family???#if we want to compare boboiboy to ejen ali its like#they’re both kids who got put into a lot of pressure early on#and most of the time they have trouble controlling their power and handling the responsibility#the difference is that ali got the one thing that made him special stripped away and#while boboiboy is seen as the only one to be able to handle his#lots to unpack here guys#its wild to look into these cartoons i watched growing up through a more mature view#i think i actually enjoy them more now looking at them deeper

Reno's ride-or-die policy toward Kafka is outstanding but there's something about Kafka letting the boy 14 years younger than him scolds, drop kicks, handchops etc. on him without getting angry even once. Even when Reno's "don't transform senpai" reached its stupidity peak during the raid on Tachikawa base you'd think Kafka will yell back at him at least once but instead, he just keep his reason in his mind and go ahead. Especially when compared side-by-side with how Iharu reacts to Reno being Reno most of the times.
The same goes to his attitude toward Kikoru when she's in need of help. He don't even smirk or telling her to act better around him. He just help her, encourage her, and telling her she shouldn't be too reckless. Yes he allow himself to goof around, stealthy transforming to get the car back up just to look cool. But when it's really matter, he'll stand to protect her and demand nothing.
It's easy to feel offended, to want to getting back at someone for talking down on you. But Kafka with his life experience understand very well that Reno (being a kid) is just worried, and Kikoru (also being a kid) just want some kind of approval. Kafka might not meet all categories of what social expect from a grown adult (not many does), sometimes he just flat out a manchild but he's definitely not a teenager in adult body by any means.
#falramblingsohecanlives#faltalkskn8#kaiju no. 8#that being said. feel free to cuddle kafka#the man still has that side to him#i wrote this but actually have a lot of smol kafka doodles on my backlog there's no shame#btw Iharu's 'less than mature' response toward reno is very much necessery too#this boy need to learn a lot more before he actually wreck something irreversible
