Its personally interesting for me to read armands pov when he interacts with marius, because i reacted very similarly to him as a child. I was angry, sometimes violent, I always rightfully deconstructed the intentions of my family members and called them out when they hurt me. But internally I felt immense shame and self hatred for that self protective behavior, and I convinced myself simultaneously that I was the problem, the "eternal primitive" as armand puts it. I had simultaneous daily fantasies of killing my father and killing myself as penitance. Peak Gothic fiction! I'm shaking armands hand. I think he should kill marius in a rage and be utterly destroyed by it :)
