It’s just been a bad day. Your nerves are wrecked. This is only the second time Price has babysat you, you’ve been watching spooky things all day (which you know you shouldn’t do without Simon around, but you had a craving for scary content) and now it is storming like crazy. You’ve been holed up in your room where you usually feel safest, but every crash of thunder sounds like it’s right over the house. It’s so loud that you can’t even hear Price around the house and you could almost believe you’re alone here.

The final straw is when the power goes out. Silent with fear, you scramble out of bed. You know this house, every inch of it, but in your panic you bump into two walls with a little yip of surprise and pain.

You stumble to the guest room and shove the door open, don’t even bother with knocking or being polite. It’s too dark to even see price.

“You alright, stray? Is something wrong.”

You whimper and dive onto the bed, filled with the single-minded goal of getting to him because he may be scary, but he’s meant to keep you safe. You find his reaching arm and cling on, let him drag you the rest of the way into his big, warm chest.

“What’s wrong, little one? Bad dream or something?”

You shrug, too busy getting as close as you can. His heartbeat is slow and steady where your arm presses against him. You tuck in and try to follow along with his breath. He hums low and soothing as he curls his arms slowly around you, chin on your head.

“You’re alright, I’m here. Not gonna let anything get you,” he says.

You swallow and nod. Wiggle in a little closer. He sweeps his palm up and down your back.

“You can stay here tonight, I don’t mind,” he assures. “And in the morning I’ll make cinnamon rolls, how does that sound?”

“Okay,” you mumble, settling in. “Thank you…”

He makes a pleased noise that you feel more than hear. “Of course, stray.”

The REAL thing I wanted to talk about was Traveling thieves (which is by far my favorite fanfic of ALL TIME), and all the amazingness in ttsbc made me forget it even existed for the past few weeks. But the other day I was just like "oh yeah. Traveling thieves." and then i reread the whole thing. whoopsies.

Ummm anywyas there's so many thoughts in my head about all the little guys, but recently I've been on an Imp and Skizz obsession (just scroll on my page for .2 seconds and you'll see) and YOU. You left them on a CLIFFHANGER. >:((( (not actually mad btw). I just. so excited for them. They're out alone in the woods right now and Skizz is going to have the perfect opportunity to kill Impulse and get away and I just am falling apart thinking about them. (I drew them to cope lol, posted on my blog but also later here so that I can talk about it more). I can see this playing out a few ways. Obviously Skizz isn't actually going to kill Impulse, so he's either going to 1) make up some excuse as to why he can't do it right then, but still plans to do it eventually, or 2) he does it. but he doesn't. Skizz attacks Impulse when he's not expecting it, there's a scuffle, and Skizz comes out on top---BUT THEN HE CAN"T FINISH IT!!! and it's a whole thing where even tho skizz tried to kill him, imp is still so understanding and skizz cries and impulse just freaking gives him a hug and

Mostly I'm just very proud of their expressions, with Impulse being all concerned glancing over at Skizz, meanwhile Skizz is completely deadpan staring forwards, also looking very tired bc he needs a break from this universe. Also I switched up my Impulse design a lil bit from last time (if u even remember that lol it was months ago now). you would think, just looking at them, that Impulse took way longer to design, but nope, I was messing around with Skizz for at least double the time, trying to figure out how to have him facing forward whilst still showing some of the scars on his back. I gave up eventually xD (all that means is that im gonna have to draw him again later, from different angles)

actually that made me remember a question I had: are you planning to ship Imp and Skizz? Ik you said Zed and Tango are going to be a thing far in the future, but... skizzpulse? plzzzz plz pretty please haha im not obsessed

aaaaaand that reminds me of another question, is skizz going to be in ttsbc? (pretty please also same question as tt, if he was in ttsbc, are him and impulse together? Im addicted to them all i care about these days is some good imp and skizz shipfics, and you're such a fantastic writer, both with plot and the vibes of the words themselves. u could write such good imp and skizz. just imagine the possibilites! megumi's always been a light sleeper/had a hard time falling asleep. even when he was a baby, he'd be up like 37 times in the night, so toji and mamaguro would take turns pulling all nighters because what's the point of going to sleep when baby megumi is just gonna start crying 10 minutes later...even when he's older, he still wakes up several times in the night. it's too hot, it's too cold, i'm thirsty, the door slammed four apartments down, etc. of course this only gets worse after the detention center because he starts having nightmares :( dw, this opens the door for some cute itafushi moments down the road im writing a fic abt this

he also wakes up reaalllly early because of this, like 5am...that doesn't mean he's a morning person though. he's very grumpy and almost completely unresponsive to anyone trying to talk to him. not that anyone else is really up at 5am with him...maybe yuuji, but he's on the other side of his sleep cycle (hasn't gone to bed yet, was binge watching a new series) and probably equally zombie-like. anyway, megumi is the epitome of "don't talk to me before i've had my coffee." gojo got him a mug that said that once...

megumi didn't eat breakfast (much to tsumiki's chagrin) until he met yuuji, but that's mostly because he doesn't want to waste yuuji's efforts food :)

to add on to that, he has a pretty small appetite, my personal thought is this comes from when he was younger. he and tsumiki struggled to get food between when their money ran out post parental departure and when gojo came into their lives, so he just got used to not eating a lot...but for the same reason he'll never leave food on his plate. lingering fear that he'll wake up with nothing to eat one day (SORRY i had to make it angsty bc that's just Who I Am 💔💔💔)

um. to end it on a lighter note :) if megumi wasn't a sorcerer, he'd work at an animal rescue facility or a no-kill shelter and he's all the dogs' fav employee :))) (ik a lot of people like vet megumi, but i feel like he'd get too sad when he had to put an animal down bc he couldnt save it........). if he wasn't into that, he'd be interested in ecology and habitat preservation for endangered species.

1(2): drew this one surrounding the feelings of guilt between minhyeok and loyal (mc). idk if they expound on it more bc im stuck on 3-48 but like. its gotta suck feeling like you're the whole reason your best friend is going through it (loyal going to hell to revive minheyok/ minheyok dying because he tried to save loyal) and yet you cant talk at all. i like thinking about the feelings of obligation they both feel for each other. and the fact that theyre both a lil too guilty because none of this is either of their faults but feelings arent exactly logical are they. also did you know minhyeok's cut is in the reverse direction in his halloween event sprites than they should be based on the cg where he gets cut. cause it keeps bothering me.

also not related but since the halloween event i keep playing with the idea of minhyeok having some unknown relation to whatever happened to god (or maybe lilith for that matter but i have less of a support for this one) after he disappeared. i do like him as a "just some guy" character but i do also like the idea of him having that unavoidable bond with you because god adored solomon and having one soul turn back up means its not impossible for the others to appear again. also smthn was up with how the angels liked him

1. i don’t remember diego being so fucking annoying. actually that’s a lie he’s always been annoying but since he was hot i let it slide but now that he’s not treating lila right (how do u fumble a baddie THAT HARD) i think he should participate in the shut the fuck up challenge

2. “their uncle will pick them up” HUH? like obviously this timeline is different but you’re telling me lila has uncles (and parents! or someone! she was talking to some elderly couple before the party!). what does that mean for the others… were their mothers still killed in this timeline or did klaus live out his little amish dream, even if he wasn’t around to experience it? ykwim? like did they show up to this timeline and someone was like “omg where did u wander off to? i was looking all over for u!” and then it turns out it’s their sibling/uncle/whatever in that timeline and they just have to be like ah yes. i surely do know who u are

3. what they did to lila and diego was criminal!!! “she said she couldn’t get pregnant while breast feeding. but she could” dramatic ass reveal for no fucking reason. like get over yourself diego

4. ok i know they prob couldn’t get rays actor to come back but what the fuck do u mean he walked out. and how can allison afford that nice house when all she’s doing is being in commercials nobody wants. our girl has a BEAMER. also i thought they weren’t supposed to have phones or anything like that so why does allison have a vape lollll. not complaining bc that scene was funny to me but why and how

27. anyway not to make this about myself but when i was writing the odesta longfic there were a lot of lore inconsistencies as we kept going bc i forgot some of the details and was too lazy to go back and read it sometimes, and i think that’s what happened this season. the most notable detail is when klaus covered his ears while everyone was shooting at each other. i was expecting some sort of vietnam flashback but like no. he was just there being normal about it, all things considered

we can keep jennifer. whatever. that thing they added at the very last second about her having a particle that causes the end of the world was… whatever. like i get it. they needed a way to explain the end of the world and that was the thing they used and even if it was very late to introduce such a (admittedly confusing) bombshell, at least it fits in with what we already know about this universe’s rules. magic and particles and marigold and whatever. jennifer is fine.

tbh when jennifer started feeling sick i was honestly thinking that they were gonna go the surprise pregnancy route even though they weren’t even fuckinf hinting at that i just have no media literacy. i wouldn’t have minded that tbh, like the monster transformation made more sense but imagine if we did a twilight ripoff for a second, except that jennifer and ben were both equally protective of the killer baby growing outside of jennifer’s womb (or in her womb… whatever. point is there’s a baby). i don’t think this is a good idea—if anything i think this is a shit idea. but something that’s always been so prominent in tua are the moral implications of what they’re doing, like with everyone wanting to kill harlan in s3 instead of letting the entire world die, and with everything that happened with viktor in s1. there was the whole “i can’t kill my brother” bit, sure, but everyone kinda didn’t rlly seem too enthusiastic about it.

actually the baby addition is actually a shit idea. i’m just keeping that part of the rant in bc we need SOME sort of moral dilemma that isn’t just viktor arguing w hargreeves and then his siblings dropping in later with opinions that don’t even seem that strong. everyone needs to have a strong opinion on SOME sort of moral issue that we wanna introduce—that, in a perfect world, we’d be building up to throughout the season—and then yeah whatever there can be an epic fight scene

i don’t watch/read a lot of time travel stuff, but from what i gathered, the timeline can never be restored once it’s fucked with. there has to be consequences, like with any story. and tua did address that—they tried restoring the timeline thousands of times—but i think they shot themselves in the foot there. time travel with a (somewhat) happy ending is possible—there just has to be something to lose, and it has to be something that isn’t nonnegotiable. claire was nonnegotiable, which is why i think they stayed in s3’s timeline for as long as they did

point is, i think they should have gone back to 2019. i mean i don’t think anyone really wanted them to die. i made a joke in s3’s rant that i would just give up, but lucky for me, i am not a fictional character in tua, so the fact they just die in the last five mins and we’re supposed to be ok w that makes the last three seasons pointless. like, actually pointless. what was the message here? why is the ending of the show painted as some sort of utopia just bc we got rid of the siblings? and why is five okay with that? i think him being on board w dying could have been an interesting route to take if they showed his relationship w his siblings consistently deteriorating (both on screen AND off screen) but they only rlly managed to do that with diego, and it was for something fucking stupid

ANYWAY. bring those fools back to 2019, but don’t make them totally happy. just give them something that makes them all just stay put, like how allison has claire (doesn’t matter which timeline. it could be from the fucked up timeline. i don’t think the cleanse would happen bc of that bc claire is only one person and not an entire fucking organization like tua or an assassination like jfk. so hell. might as well throw harlan and sissy in there for viktor. that makes lila and diego’s motivation really easy for staying put, cos then they have their kids. klaus is klaus and no offense to him but i think hes just gonna roll w the cards he’s dealt without trying to fight back, for better or for worse. then ben can have jennifer and since they love each other idk they just stick around. then five’s motivation for staying is that his family is alive and none of them want to leave and that’s good enough for him bc that’s why he time traveled in the first place

again… i don’t think what i came up with is any good. i just think it’s better than them all dying at the last fuckin second. i think this show relied on a lot of haha random xd humor at the beginning and they tried to keep that intact here but everything got so serious that i think them all dying rlly did seem like the only way out but.. it’s not. they could go back to the way things are as long as there were consequences. it would suck, and none of them would be as happy as they could be, but they know that’s as happy as they’re gonna get, so whatever. like, if we were gonna take the suicide route, we might as well gone the time loop route and gone back from the very beginning when five blinks back to 2019. i think that rly would have driven home the “this all would have happened anyway” point way better than them just being like guess ill die :) bc ughhh. no they wouldn’t. also they wouldn’t let lila leave bc she still had marigold in her but… what about her and diego’s kids?? they’re half marigold, and claire is a quarter, so… what’s up with that?

What if geto really js spills the beans by accident and choso ends up getting really mad at the reader so she becomes very lonely again. But instead of going to the bar like last time, she finds herself at gojo’s apartment. When he opens the door to find her there, he’s so very happy since he missed her but also so confused. She starts crying to him trying to blame him for everything bad that happened but deep down all she craves is his touch and affection since shes oh so very lonely. The feeling ends up being mutual and they end up fucking like they both so desperately been craving. After they finish, they lay there. She starts speaking and basically js says how she wishes it could be like this but he won’t let them be happy. She knows he’s a bad guy but she can’t help but crave a happy ending with him. And he really really contemplates js telling her the truth. Even if the truth upsets her, atleast that’ll mean she’ll move on for good and stop hurting herself over him. But, he doesn’t tell her and instead js tells her how she shouldn’t be here right now. Before she could yell at him again for not giving in to her and how he’s making everything confusing again, he continues and says how he really wishes it could be different and he would do anything to go back to the day they first met because all he wants is to be with her. How he wishes he could be choso, maybe even for js one day so he can show her just how much he really loves her. Treat her how she’s been wanting to be treated. And most importantly, so he could actually have something other than a twisted toxic love story with the only woman he’s ever had eyes for. Oh how he regrets everything. And while telling her all of this, she looks at him and says, “Then why? All of this for what when we could’ve been happy from the very beginning. We could’ve been everything we’ve ever wanted if you didn’t make me do that list. So why?” And the look in her eyes breaks him and it’s like he has no control over the things he’s about to say. The reason as to why he made her do it, is about to leave his lips. And he can’t stop himself. It’s like the whole world stops and silence surrounds them as the truth is finally revealed..

so obviously i cant stop thinking abt the sheer tragedy of his character; how he was not supposed to be there, knows nothing abt these assholes’ bullshit but is dragged in it anyway. poor guy’s gonna be traumatized forever (if he even survives..)!!!

so that got me thinking: what options/scenarios does white have?

1. tan decides to intervene himself and murders at least one of them to speed up the process (which eventually leads to more chaos etc) no matter what happens next, white is now a witness. if the boys all end up dead one way or another after that, no matter what was tan’s og plan, it would be a bad idea to let white go.

from that scenario, there are now two possibilities regarding white:

tan relies on the police’s corruption (which might not even work in this case since por’s parents are hella rich and will be doing everything they can so the police can find out what happened to their son) and plans on disappearing forever and abandoning ‘tan’ behind, to be ‘new’ again. in that case, tan doesn’t harm white as he didn’t do anything to non and (with the last bit of sanity he has left) judges him innocent.

following what he said abt jin earlier, he may also consider white as part of the group, and thus as an asshole too (tho he’s well aware white wasn’t part of the group when non’s incident happened) and may want to kill two birds with one stone and eliminate him too.

2. white is not as innocent as we think he is and may harm/ kill someone later on

like many ppl here, i do want him to do a 360 and see him standing above his friends’ corpses with a bloody axe (a girl can dream!)- i really don’t think he’s aware of what’s going on with the group, non, tan or any of that shit. however he could be here for a whole other reason… pretty much like tan & phee infiltrating the group to get answers abt non, he could be here (and dating tee) to get answers abt mr keng or the whole mafia thing tee had going on? i mean white appeared out of nowhere and started dating tee just like that? i get that opposites attract and all but that seems a bit much…. i mean he even appeared not long after mr keng disappeared!! that could be a massive coincidence obviously and we still don’t know what happened with tee’s uncle but well!

following that theory, white could also want to get answers from tee or some other and pull out the gun or the knife and end up killing someone (accidentally or not). that theory does not make much sense tho ik…

really felt like if u did not watch the original series, this show would feel SO all over the place and u would have so many “wtf is happening” moments. the whole omashu shit was kind offfffff a mess. i see where they were going and why they were doing that but in hindsight after the fact i was like… if i knew nothing ab this show that would have been the most confusing clusterfuck.

and i think my biggest/most general complaint that i already talked about that i will briefly touch on: trying to do too much. why are we putting in characters and plot points that do not come till seasons 2-3 and are completely unnecessary now (secret tunnel, wan shi tong, swamp-kinda episode, etc.)

final thoughts?

it was enjoyable. i cannot deny that. landscapes were gorgeous. fights were well choreographed and looked GOOD. some changes were genuinely made for the better, and even changes that i do not necessarily think were better, i could respect the creativity of some changes and understood why they were there. but overall, as most live action remakes go, this was a flat portrayal of one of the greatest pieces of fiction of all time that suffered from some overly ambitious ideas and dull writing with little to no sense of whimsy. while some performances exceeded expectations, others that were crucial to the integrity of this show really disappointed me.

overall: 6.6/10. this number is completely subject to change.

okok first of all jungkook and hobi are both biases individually so whenever they’re in the same frame all my neurons set on fire. anyways ik jungkook has the golden maknae title (deserved) but i feel like its not widely recognized As Much the way hobi is also a golden ace like they’re both sooooo good at everything. and thats jungkooks Thing™️ but like. hoseok is SO fucking good at dancing and so good at rapping and so good at songwriting/producing and ALSO so good at singing and he (also jin) is such a morale booster and icebreaker and i feel like he warms up every room hes in. but also he takes his craft so seriously and his dance teacher side is so intense and respectable. and like ofc they’re all insanely talented and passionate but i feel like jungkook and hobi are kinda two sides of the same coin and idk im ENDEARED………and also their solo music i just . love nearly everything they put out like theyre batting 99.9% for me.
