Mikey x Reader x Draken (Tokyo Revengers)(Part 9)
Being a gang leader doesn’t leave a lot of free time and having hit the critical age of the hormonal teenager, Draken and Mikey are beginning to feel the raging urge of having some needs meet.
You end up ordering hot cakes and mint tea, Mikey orders a milkshake and waffles and Draken takes eggs, bacon and black coffee.
Silence follows when you all start to eat, only munching sounds and your loud thoughts can be heard. The three of you actually so hungry that your plates are empty in less than five minutes.
These are the best hot cakes you have ever had! Or maybe you were that hungry, but whatever it was, you sigh satisfied and grin at feeling comfortable at least by the food.
Searching for the scarce remains of that comforting feeling, your finger slides across the porcelain plate to get the remains of honey you can.
You're usually not that messy but it's a little inevitable when these flavors are the only thing at the moment giving you certain kind of peace of mind.
A golden, honeyed drop rolls from your fingertip to your lips and then down your chin. Your tongue darts out to stop its journey down but it’s a second too slow.
Your gasp catches inside your lungs, and unrequested goosebumps raid your whole body when both blonds mercilessly attack you.
Mikey's lips are the first thing you feel, in a chaste, gentle peck next to your lips, as if asking permission, even so, he doesn't wait as he always does and the next thing you feel is his velvety tongue, wet and warm, following the rebellious path of the honey drop, down your chin.
While Draken, for his part, yanks your wrist in the gentlest of pulls, like re-teaching your body to stretch. The tall gang member merely grins when your stares cross and even when your shocked expression screams of how unsettled you feel for what he is about to do, he still does it.
His mouth opens and your honey-coated index finger finds its way inside it. Those glossy lips close around the stoic digit and his tongue dances slowly, almost sensually lazy around the skin. Devouring the honey but mostly feeding on your blushing, nervous disposition, since his gaze never falters from yours.
You gulp hard, having both blondes stick to a part of your body in public isn’t exactly what you ordered for breakfast and once clean, both reluctantly abandon their task.
Mikey gives one last smooch to your cheek as Draken pecks tenderly the pad of your finger, and soon both are using the sleeves of their uniforms to wipe off the rests of saliva from you.
“—My milkshake was good…. But damn! How do you always manage to taste sweeter, darlin’?”
Mikey’s cheeks are red, chest heaving, all the sign you don’t wanna see.
“It-…. It isn’t me, Sano.” You reply swiftly as if trying to dissuade whatever thought might be inside that hormonal head of his, “… it was the honey what you tasted—”
“Nah~” Draken butts in, “sure the honey was sweet, but nothing compared to your pussy...”
“Draken, shut it—”
“Your pussy is…” Draken openly ignores you and keeps daydreaming, “fuck! Is my favorite flavor.”
“Stop, Draken!”
“I mean, if I could have as every meal, a full plate of your sweet, shaven—”
Both your palms slap at his mouth to stop his next words, and you can hear Mikey burst out laughing.
“Knock it off, Ken Ryuguji.” You scold him like a little child, and he merrily shrugs, nonchalant.
Your face is beat red and your heartbeat a mess, a wild mix of emotions painting your whole face: embarrassment, anger, shock, uneasiness with a pinch of honeyed excitement…. You are not sure where the excitement comes from, but it surprises you to even feel it.
You can feel Draken smirk under your hands and then his lips start kissing your palms making you recoil back, fast.
The sub-commander chuckles. “Do that again.” He asks suddenly.
And putting your hands under the table on top of your thighs, you shake your negative.
Mikey snickers at your sheepishness. “—I bet you thought I was the worst of the two,” the short blonde grins, “…. I’m a walk in the park compared to this one.”
He motions to his bestie and the tall teen stares back smugly, before repeat.
“Do that again.”
You squint your eyes at him, “… it was a spurt of the moment—”
“Nevertheless, do it again.”
You shake your head stubbornly and Draken narrows his eyes mischievously.
“You have the sweetest PUSS—”
His loud statement is cut short by your hands pressing again against his mouth, and Mikey can’t help but laugh, clutching his stomach while he amusedly enjoys Draken’s misbehaving.
“God, it’s like dealing with a child in steroids!”
You complain a little fed up, but your outburst only makes Mikey laugh harder. Draken starts to say something, yet his words come out muffled, and he ends up licking your palm in order for you to let go.
“Gross, Draken—”
“Not Draken,” he points out, “Ken-… Ken Ryuguji.” He asks, and his heartfelt request slowly fades Mikey’s laughter into a curious grin.
“Say my name, my real name…. Do it again.”
That’s what he meant before. His name, he wanted you to say his name.
“I loved the sound of it,” Draken admits, “in your voice,” he continues, “tagging me as taken and owned since no one else is allowed to use that name apart from MY boy—”
You raise an eyebrow and quickly Mikey lifts a finger to claim your attention, “I’m HIS boy.”
“… His boy.” You repeat more to yourself and a thousand memories of them flood your brain, from them eating each other’s mouths, to them jacking off, to them sucking, groping, kissing, fucki—
“Are you a couple?” you can't help but ask, “I mean…. since when are you a couple? I mean…does anyone know? .... Probably not, since no tough, gang member from Japan” you point out, “…would faithfully follow a homosexual couple-…sometimes we are such a closed-minded culture—”
“We don't like men,” Mikey interrupts you, “…we like and are crazy about women.” The Toman leader states and soon adds, “—we have never and will never be with another man.”
You pout, doubts and questions reflecting in your features.
Draken chuckles lightly, to then reach out to you and draw his knuckles gently over your creased forehead until it smoothens.
“We don’t fancy cock,” the tall blond explains, “we fancy pus-…”
Your hand raises in warning and Draken giggles, ending up just mouthing the word without sound. So, you lower your hand.
“But I saw you-…” you remind them, “I saw you, kissing, touching and doing stuff to each other—”
“Sure, Draken is mine and I’m his.” Mikey claims without shame. “We are each other’s exception.”
“-Then I’m just your plaything…”
“NO.” They stress in unison.
“You are OURS.” Draken is the one to speak first, “our girl, our soulmate, the missing part on our triangle…”
“Our future wife.” Mikey adds, swiftly. His black gaze set on you, to watch your reaction firsthand.
You do your best to keep the shock down and under a serene facade of numb detachment, to then say as cold and indifferent as you can.
“I’m your actual cumdump and future sex slave—”
“NO!” they say in unison one more time. Their voices sound strained as an angry beg.
“We love you-”
“DON’T say something you don’t mean,” you say in a fit, “it’s kind of a dick move, you don’t have to pretend,” your words stop them cold. “I already slept with you, I already did everything with you-…. you can cut the crap!”
There’s a solid awkward silence which would have linger there if it wouldn’t be interrupted by the waitress asking you if you needed anything else. You ask for the check and the silence permeates the booth until the check arrives.
“—Like I promised yesterday, this one is on me… you know, for take me to the hospital and pay for it,” you take some bills out of a hidden pocket in your pants and place it on top of the table, “… and this-” you take another couple of bills, “is for the scarring sex, that way we can stop calling it rape,” you add in an icy, full of contempt tone, “… I won’t call the police on you and you won’t look for me again, we are even.”
Your voice is final, yet silence is the only response you get.
You sigh, unable to look them in the face, that way you can keep the tough act at float.
“Excuse me, Sano.” You say to the immobile blond next to you, and to your utter surprise, he does move.
Standing up, Mikey offers you his hand to get out of the booth, yet you don’t take it but do thank for his chivalry to which he faintly nods.
Not a single word has come out of their mouths and somehow that uneased you, but whatever this strike of luck is, you are sure to take advantage of it.
Sporting the same utter silence, the three stand still for a minute before starting to walk to the exit, when a better idea grazes your brain.
“I’m going to pass to the restroom before go, wait for me here?”
Both gang members merely stare at you in response. Those sharp gazes devoid of any recognizable emotions make you look away and at your feet instead, and a little more than shaken, you spin on your hills to go to the bathroom.
Once inside you check the door to confirm that they won't burst inside and once more at ease. You splash some cold water to your face to then look for a window.
“There.” You mutter mutedly when you finally find a way out of the nightmare. A small, yet big enough, window greets you from the last stall, and using the toilet as leverage, you glance back through your shoulder one last time to then sneak out.
Your little legs are the first thing to stick out the window, using your hands to support your weight before letting you fall to the floor of the alley hidden between the streets. Sound of people reach your ear, yet you ignore them.
Before your feet touch the hard ground a wave of happiness begins to invade you, God! You did it! You escaped from them…. You are so excited that your face feels numb and when you feel the soles of your boots touch the ground, you almost jump with excitement.
Crouched down, you close your eyes to enjoy the moment of victory, a victory that threatens to turn to ashes in your mouth when the sun bouncing off the walls of the alley is blocked by something large.
“Look guys, don't we know this cute little thing?”
You hear someone say in a familiar voice and turning around suddenly, your eyes widen in worry, as you encounter a faction of the gang, you defeated the night before.
The beaten and putrid face of the person who betrayed your gang and the Toman and unleashed all the conflict between gangs, smiles macabrely down at you while licking his lips.
“You, little bitch,” the gang member spells slowly, “I’ve been looking for you. Yesterday I lost to you, but today I'm going to get even.”
The traitor's henchmen make a half circle, cornering you against the wall and blocking any escape route, your main enemy takes the center to be able to see you from the front and to delight in the terror your eyes show when he begins to unbutton his pants belt.
“First you are going to pay me for the beating,” his belt opens wide and now his fingers continue with the buttons of his pants, “then you are going to compensate me for my effort,” he lowers the zipper, “and once that you have that annoying mouth full of my cock and my cum slides down your beautiful esophagus, all of we are going to teach you that in gangs there is a rule that should never be broken," he takes out his vulgar cock, erect and swollen, and strokes it a couple of times, smearing drops of precum from the head all over the shaft, “No Girls Allow!”
This is your fucking luck!
From your crouching position you scan the horizon and seeing a small space, you lunge towards it hoping to get away, but one of the boys catches you and pulls you back towards the center of the circle, scratching and kicking to no avail.
With no options left, you throw a punch, and a scream of pain paints the silence of the pleasant morning when the bandage wrapping your closed fist begins to turn red.
Even when that painful punch managed to take down one of the boys, and if it weren't for the incapacitating wound throbbing in your hand, you might have defeated the rest, you now that you are doom. You're so tired and exhausted, the little strength in you slowly fades as you fall to your knees hugging your hand to your chest.
“You fucking stuck-up bitch!” one of the henchmen shouts, kicking you in the stomach, “we are going to teach you how to behave!!”
Yanking you from the hair, he stands behind you and presents you to his leader once he has you subdued. “Go on, shove it all the way in, that's what this slut is good for.”
The insults and laughter do not wait, and you almost block your jaw by closing it so tightly.
“Open your mouth, so I can give you your breakfast.” The traitor mocks, swanking his junk in front of your face before slapping you with it. You almost open your mouth in gag reflection, at the disgust of feeling his warm, wet skin against your cheek.
“Open your fucking mouth, scum.” Large, rough hands fixate on your jaw, trying to open it with violent and rough movements but you refuse, the pain is getting higher and higher, but you prefer it to swallowing what awaits you. “Come on, otherwise we're going to have to use another, tighter hole.”
Everyone laughs, some watching animatedly while others holding your hands to prevent you from hitting them.
“Dibs on her ass.” You hear one say.
“Oh man, I wanted her ass, well I’ll settle for her pussy.”
“Fuck that, I want to fuck her tits, look at those! So freaking big and plush!”
All the stares fall on your breast, and you can almost hear them lick their lips, terror fills you to the point of desperation when one of them finally uses his brain.
“Pinch her nose,” one suggests, “my mom used to do that to force me to eat when I didn't want to.”
“Ten points for Gryffindor,” the traitor says, and one of his henchmen pinches your nose painfully tight. Air stops flooding your system, and everyone waits with bated breath, enjoying the way your face is starting to change color.
“She has to open her mouth eventually, don't she?” one wonders, worry looming just a little, unable to wrap his head at how much you have lasted without air.
“She's stubborn but she's not stupid,” the leader reaches out to smear the tip of his cock against your trembling lips. “Ready to suck me off?”
The air finally runs out and your lungs scream for oxygen, your mouth opens and tears of frustration fall down your cheeks when a loud crash is heard and you suddenly fall to the ground, gasping.
Your tear-filled eyes can't focus properly and you're too busy sucking in air to pay attention to anything else, but you definitely see what looks like a mass of black and gold, delivering out punches.
“Fuckin’ bastard, I’m going to kill ya!”
Someone roars while entering running from the entrance of the alley, someone tall and big, and you can sense with half-numb ears and glassy eyes how all the boys attacking you are now a throbbing, bloody mass on the floor.
Thus, that enemy faction lies unconscious, pulverized and catatonic against the hard and dirty cement of the alley teased by some shy sun rays.
Mikey and Draken don't stop at that, they continue demolishing them with blows until the inert bodies are barely breathing.
The gasps you hear from the two blondes are more of fury than real effort, they both heard your scream and entering the bathroom, they didn't find you.
Panic set in when Mikey, the only other one who was able to slide out the little window into the alley, saw that you were about to be assaulted.
Falling from the sky in front of you, like your angel of salvation, the blonde went crazy with anger, not even waiting for his lover, who had to go around the restaurant to get there.
Once the anger subsided a little, they were able to think again, and both ran to your side. Crouching next to your battered body, covered in bruises and a bleeding hand.
“Damn it, her wound opened again.” Draken exclaimed, removing the shirt under his jacket to stop the bleeding.
“Let's take her to the hospital—”
“And what money are we supposed to pay with, Mikey? Or we let them patch up her again and then sneak out using a bathroom window….” Draken's annoyed gaze falls prejudicially on you and your recent actions, and Mikey immediately tries to calm him down.
“No need for the sarcasm, man.” Mikey disapproves, “later we can discuss how to reprimand this disobedient kitten. I know! Let's take her to Mitsuya and Hakkai.”
The leader of the Toman suggests. "He’s good with this kind of wounds, plus Mitsuya is excellent at sewing-"
“Sweaters and dresses, not people!” Draken chimes, applying more pressure to your wound.
“Take me… home.” You suggest weakly, and they both look down at you.
“My older sister is a nurse,” you inform them, “she will help me for free, she is very good.”
The blondes don't seem convinced and soon the questions everyone harvest in their minds, pops out from Mikey’s mouth.
“Why didn't we take you to her yesterday?”
The blonde motions his head at the wound on your hand, which started it all, and you frown.
"She works in the private sector in Kyoto, just this morning she arrived home to-... just take me to her.”
Draken and Mikey share a look and it's like they're having an internal conversation. You see it in the way they look at each other, and finally reaching a secret agreement, they both nod.
The tall blonde rubs the back of his neck and the short one cracks his knuckles before saying.
“Fine, kitten.” Mikey shares, a sullen grimace on his face is soon replaced by a playful grin, “…let's meet the sister-in-law.”

I totally relate to Neil, I too get deeply anxious with phone calls and when having company over.
"let's start with Miles, he is at least a slight man." 😂😂
Wynn saying honey. 🥰
Not Neil crying. If Neil cries, it makes me cry. Yes he needs a hug and you need to do it Wynn, because I'm in a different reality!!! This poor baby is distraught!!!
Rollins gives 3 year old that thinks he is the boss of the family and his family is so weak that he actually is, and no one does anything about it but the entire street gossips about it.
Wait. Wait wait is Johnny now bloodbonded to senechal Reese?
"We should be speaking again soon." give me a break, you bland potato of a man. 🤮
Required to embrace 2 people, that's fucked up.
👀👀 We'd better learn Johnny's embrace story because that sounds juicy!!
Listen, someone named Roman Pendragon is bad news. Even I can tell you that.
Awww you know, I really like Whethers. I totally get what Johnny is saying, but I also get what Whethers says.
Consider this, was Johnny a rebellious teenager in a previous life?
I don't know if this is because I've got told some Johnny/Britta stuff already, or that sometimes there really is smth there? I'm sure I already talked about my theory that Britta kind of imprinted like a little gosling on Johnny, but Johnny definitely has a tender soft spot for her too.
Yes Britta give us that eavesdropping juice!!!
The archon just plainly ignoring the Prince and asking Miles if he can keep the city safe.
This comes directly from the archon wiki: In fact, it is a large embarrassment to a city's Prince for an Archon to be dispatched to help maintain order. 😂
Miles just crushing Marcos's spirits with the our/my sire. Damn.
Not Britta getting scolded and just doubling down! 😂😂 Miles is so annoyed. And then Neil just trying to mediate in his precious awkward way.
We get a fuck?!? Daddy is aaaangy 😳😳
Why are they always bullying Miles? Because it's just so easy. 😂 It's just so fun.

@nineliabilityrisk asked: ❝ " ... i haven't been getting much sleep . " from henry [ i'm insane about them as per usual ] ❞ ( my wip fics starters, pt. ii )
"It sounds like you're no better than me," came an easy reply, a seemingly snide statement softened by his hands resting on Henry's shoulders. He was standing behind his business partner's chair, thumbs rolling down into muscles. One part easing tense muscles, one part finding an excuse to touch. ( Always. ) "I suppose it's my turn to do the scolding. Get some rest." A sharp smile accompanied the words, amusement seeping into his tone just enough. Usually it was Henry saying these things to him—despite not being aware of how many hours William truly spent working. His fingers shifted higher, thumbs working into the nape of Henry's neck. Even sight unseen, his expression warmed, smile taking on something gentler. "Come home with me." Word choice was intentional—not manipulative but perhaps presumptuous. Had built his perfect family to society's standards once, and now attempted it to his own liking. A house made less empty by Henry's presence—a very wanted presence, if a dangerous one. Adults do not overlook what rebellious teenagers do.
"Is it the dreams?" Speaking generally—not even William Afton was immune to being haunted by his losses. ( Regardless of who was at fault. ) "I'll make tea and we can rest." His fingers combed through Henry's hair, languid movements. "No 'nightmare' can haunt you while I'm there." Part joke, part comfort. Never mind who had caused the nightmares.

Silverfalls Court Chapter 4
Title: Silverfalls Court
Author: Jay Grayson
Word Count: 50K
Genres: drama, suspense, who-done-it, LGBT+
Available on: Kobo and my website
Synopsis: A young girl, lost in the bliss of her first relationship, will do anything in the pursuit of what she believes is true love—even sneaking out of her house in the dead of night. Unfortunately, she is met by someone she didn’t quite expect. Her fight or flight instincts kick in but she in no match for the killer in the woods.
And her death won’t be the only one.
The once peaceful and quaint neighborhood of Silverfalls Court is thrown into chaos and upheaval when bodies keep showing up in the woods. When it becomes apparent that the murderer must be one of them, suspicions grow thick and trust is shattered.
Some, like Lisa-Marie Castel, want to play detective and solve the case on their own while others, like Dominique Pulmer, want to keep their heads down and wait for things to return to normal. Some might even wish to capitalize on the bizarre nature of the story while those who have been personally affected are left to pick up the broken pieces of their lives amidst the chaos.
Full chapter 4 under the cut:
4. Not Here
The second hand ticked loudly—echoing through the room as an oppressive atmosphere settled in. Suri and Jumin both looked down at their feet instead of at their parents. Though they could still feel the heated glares—especially from their father.
Kihyun and Munhee Jung had stayed up until after midnight in wait for their kids to come back home. They’d called but neither had answered. After some more waiting, they retired to bed with a shared, red hot anger that had cooled over night but was by no means gone.
Munhee might have expected Jumin to pull a stunt like this. Since he’d started hanging around Serena and Victoria—Victoria especially—he had been a little more rebellious. But Suri was much better behaved than her older brother and never went against her parents’ wishes.
To Munhee’s left, her husband, Kihyun, stood with his arms crossed. He was disappointed in both of his children and couldn’t wait to hear what they had to say. Nothing that came out of them would serve as a proper excuse, of course, but he kept silent and waited anyway.
But neither spoke. Jumin was far more defensive in his posture than his little sister who looked as if she might cry at any minute. Unlike Jumin, Suri had only been scolded by their parents twice in her memory—once when she nearly failed a test and another when she only got second chair violin in orchestra. She wasn’t used to their judgmental, disappointed stares.
Jumin’s inner monologue was quite different, however. He found the whole production to be an overreaction. They stayed out later than they promised, sure, but they hadn’t left the neighborhood. They simply hung out in the woods and talked for hours, losing track of time in the process.
He knew that explanation would fall flat though. Anything he or Suri said would be rebutted and they would be in trouble no matter what.
Once he was sick of waiting, Kihyun spoke back up. “So? What’s the reason?”
After another moment of silence, Munhee clicked her tongue in irritation at her children. “Your father asked you a question.”
Jumin knew Suri would never answer so he lifted his head with a sigh. “We were just hanging out with our friends and talking. We didn’t mean to be out so late.”
“You don’t have watches?” His father looked between them. “You don’t have phones that tell you the time? Did we buy you those cell phones for no reason?”
He resisted the urge to groan and roll his eyes. “We weren’t looking at them. We were having fun. Talking.”
Munhee jumped back in. “What do you have to talk about for three hours? Huh?”
Despite his best efforts, a small sound of frustration came out of Jumin’s throat. “School stuff—teenager stuff—I don’t know! I didn’t keep a log!”
“Don’t give your mother that tone of voice,” Kihyun scolded immediately, “And don’t make that face either. We are your parents and you will not disrespect us—especially not to our faces.”
“I’m sorry,” Suri finally spoke with a quiet voice. She still didn’t look up. “We didn’t mean to stay out. Really…I…it’ll never happen again.”
“We already know that,” Munhee stated clearly. She shook her head and checked with her husband for a second before saying, “You are both grounded. No hanging around these neighborhood kids for two weeks. No games. No TV. Only school, home, and studying.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t be around these neighborhood kids at all,” Kihyun added with a contemplative frown, “They have made you an unruly child, Jumin.”
Jumin fought with himself again—he didn’t want to make the face he knew he was making but he wasn’t sure he could help it. He could stand his parents berating him for however long they wanted but he didn’t want to hear them talk badly about his friends.
“It’s not them,” he muttered.
“Well, maybe not the Rosello girl,” his father retracted and tapped his chin, “She seems polite at least. It’s the Burns’ girl that really gives me pause.”
Jumin knew it was coming. Any time someone talked about “troublesome kids” they always brought up Victoria. It wasn’t fair. She wasn’t the deranged sociopath that everyone seemed to think and he knew if people just gave her a chance they would see what he and Serena saw.
Her altercations at school were all started by other students—she was just protecting herself. She cut her hair close to the scalp because she was tired of boys and men both trying to hit on her. She talked rudely to people so they would leave her alone. But, deep down, she was just a nice girl who cared about her friends and wanted to be happy just like everyone else.
“Victoria is—” he couldn’t even get the words out before a sudden ringing echoed through the house.
All four of them looked back toward the entry way and then Kihyun and Munhee exchanged a glance. Kihyun cleared his throat and adjusted his glasses. “You two stay right here, I’ll go see who that is.”
Suri looked up but only to look at her brother. She knew he liked Serena and Victoria and she also knew the two older girls were truly nice but she just wished Jumin would bite his tongue when it came to them. Him blowing up and arguing only proved the points their parents were making, after all.
Since she turned thirteen last year, she’d been allowed to hang out with her brother and his friends more often. The two girls often commented on how mature she was for her age and joked about having her help them with their homework because of her grades. She did look over their Algebra three homework once but it was over her head.
Still, they were more fun to be around than her actual peers like Peter and Madison—Serena and Victoria’s younger siblings respectively. Suri actually had many of the same classes as Peter so she tended to avoid him at home. Last night had been an exception since Serena had brought him along to their hangout.
He hadn’t been too obnoxious, she thought in retrospect, though it was obvious whenever he tried to casually flirt with Victoria. Sometimes he flirted with Suri too but Jumin always smacked him down whenever he tried. Still, he didn’t do it much last night since the topic of conversation revolved heavily around Leigh Duval.
What happened to her, how, and why. Victoria was pretty quiet while Serena and Jumin tossed around suspicions. Suri, personally, had no idea who could have been behind the murder and she only spoke up to raise the point that it was possible that no one knew the killer.
But that was too boring, apparently.
Serena and Jumin continued to comb through all of their neighbors, trying to find someone who might magically fit the criteria. That was what took so long.
Kihyun walked back into the room, getting everyone’s attention, and he wasn’t alone. Polly Rosello followed behind him with eyes that looked red and swollen from crying.
“You all left the woods at the same time last night, didn’t you?” Kihyun opened with, staring at his children with a different type of stern expression than he’d had just a moment ago.
Jumin and Suri glanced at one another before both looking to their father. “Yeah…” Jumin answered, “No one stayed behind…”
“That’s what Serena said too,” Miss Rosello commented and raked her fingers through her hair. “She said she came back home with Peter but he…he’s not home…”
“He’s missing?” Munhee asked and her brow rose.
“He must have gone back out after we all got home,” Jumin responded.
“Are you sure?” his father gave him a sideways look, “You promise you’re not leaving anything out?”
Suri gulped before saying, “He’s telling the truth. We all walked back together and only separated to go into our houses.”
Polly rubbed her eyes and fresh tears started to spill. Her shoulders shook but she still managed to speak. “I looked everywhere at home…”
Munhee placed her hand on the woman’s arm and her expression softened. “Have you gone to the Burns’ yet?”
She shook her head and mumbled. “I’m scared.”
“We’ll go with you,” Kihyun quickly responded. “All of us.”
They left as a group and even Rika, the Jungs’ Pomeranian, followed after them. She wouldn’t be much help but she seemed to at least be able to tell that Polly needed cheering up and kept close by her heels with an eager look on her face. She went ignored, naturally, but she didn’t lose any motivation.
At the Burns’ front door, the rest of the Rosellos were already present. Serena had Miguel and Claire behind her as she knocked on the door. The Jungs and Polly met up with them, creating quite the large group for Hailey to open the door to.
“Oh my…um, is something the matter?” The woman glanced between them as worry slowly started to take over.
“I’d like to speak to Victoria, please,” Serena said with clear urgency in her voice.
“Hon, who’s at the door?” Jason’s voice came from close by before he joined his wife in the threshold. He looked like he’d recently rolled out of bed but any traces of tiredness left him as soon as he saw the Rosellos and Jungs staring back at him. “Oh…what’s going on…?”
“Can you go get our daughters, please?” Hailey asked him with a sweet smile. He nodded and left in a hurry. When he was out of sight, she turned back to the group and spoke more quietly, “Before they all get here, can I ask what this is about? It seems…serious…”
Mr. and Mrs. Jung looked to Polly who was still struggling so Kihyun took to answering, “Peter is missing. We just want to see if Victoria knows anything.”
“Oh…” Hailey covered her mouth.
Before she could say anything else, Jason returned with Victoria and Madison. There wasn’t much Madison could actually offer since she wasn’t in the group from the previous night but perhaps she’d seen something.
“Victoria,” Hailey started and looked to her oldest daughter, “You were out with Peter last night, weren’t you?”
“Yeah?” The girl’s brow furrowed. “We all were.” She pointed to Serena, Suri, and Jumin.
“I know,” her mother shook her head and responded, “We just want to know if you saw anything strange?”
Serena cut in almost instantly, “Did Peter contact you or did you see him after we all went home? …He’s…we can’t find him.”
Victoria looked around at everyone again and frowned. “…No? I went to bed.”
“Maybe he left something in the woods?” Mr. Burns suggested after a moment of silence had passed them by.
Polly raised her head up for the first time since arriving. “…I can’t find his inhaler either. He could just be out looking for it…”
“It’s still been hours,” Serena said, successfully squashing the brief glimmer of hope.
“In that case, we’ll all go and look,” Hailey offered. She glanced back into her house and whistled. “Captain, Harry, come on.”
The two large dogs ran outside, excited by the amount of people and Mika who was always a little nervous around them. As the dogs greeted each other, the Burns all filed out of their house.
“Alright, we should start with retracing you kids’ steps,” Jason said and looked, primarily at his oldest daughter.
“Should we split up to cover more area?” Serena suggested as she took in just how large their search group was.
“If we don’t find anything where you kids were then we can split up,” Kihyun said and received a nod from each of the parents. None of them were quite willing to split up while something so unorthodox was happening—even if it would be more efficient. Staying together was safest.
If any other neighbors looked out their windows they would surely be confused by the group as they walked down the street and into the woods and, no doubt, many questions would be asked later.
There was no talking on the trip—the only noise came from the two German Shepherds and the crunching of leaves under everyone’s feet. The older kids moved to the front of the pack as they took everyone to where they had been just hours ago.
Their pace slowed as they entered the clearing. Serena and Victoria looked at each other before separating and checking around the trees.
“Peter?!” Serena called out which started a chain of everyone in the group yelling his name. A lot of them overlapped but, occasionally, they’d take a couple seconds to wait and listen for a possible response.
Everyone stayed within visible distance of each other as they searched though the two German Shepherds ran off on their own. The Burns’ didn’t seem worried about that so no one commented and just continued to look. Munhee picked up Mika and held her in one arm as she stayed close by Suri and checked behind a couple of trees.
“Peter?” Suri shouted and then frowned. It had been several minutes and there hadn’t been anything.
“I guess we will have to split up,” Kihyun mentioned with a sigh.
A few nervous glances were exchanged from person to person while none spoke. No one wanted to be the first to start splitting them into groups, it seemed.
A loud bark broke the silence and it was quickly followed up by even more barking. Hailey looked to her husband. “Where are they?” she asked with a confused inflection.
Jason waited a second before pointing. “That way.” He waved his hand and said, “Come on, let’s go.”
The group rushed toward the dogs and, once they were spotted, Jason ran to the front. He put his hand out to stop them and approached alone to check out what his dogs were making a fuss about. Everyone else watched with baited breath and Polly started to cry again as the stress caught back up to her.
“Oh no…” Jason said in a soft voice but his words were carried to the others.
He didn’t have to say any more. Polly ran past the rest and Serena was quick to join her. “Mama!”
The two reached Jason and immediately stopped. Polly’s eyes widened before she screamed and threw herself toward the ground. Serena tried to reach out for her but she stopped midway and covered her face instead.
Everyone slowly walked closer and, between the sobbing coming from Polly and the solemn expression on Jason’s face, it was clear what or rather, who, was on the ground. Munhee turned to her husband and rested her forehead against his shoulder, holding her dog tightly in her arms. Miguel and Claire started to walk closer to their mother and sister but Jason stopped them, shaking his head wordlessly.
Victoria looked at Jumin who stared forward at Serena. She frowned and felt her stomach sink.
There was no way that it wasn’t Peter on the ground, judging by everyone’s reaction. But that fact, alone, changed everything. Victoria wasn’t sure what exactly it meant for her or her friends but she knew it wasn’t good.

I need the fic where Batman responds to the Red Hood exactly like a parent with a rebellious teenager. he looms out of the shadows to admonish Hood for stealing Black Mask’s kryptonite. he confiscates the rocket launcher. he grounds Jason for releasing the Joker.
the GCPD, watching the most notorious crime lord in the city get scolded by Batman: what is even happening Hood: YOU’RE NOT MY REAL FATHER Batman: the paperwork disagrees. also, you blow up one more warehouse and no more Alfred cookies. Hood, whining: but I had to blow it up, it was full of drugs! and drug dealers! mainly the drug dealers. Batman, shaking Hood like an errant kitten: murder bad.

okay, imagine everyone gets the Robins mixed up. look, it’s hard, their color themes are all too similar, two of them have ‘red’ in their name and two of them have ‘robin’ in their name, and apparently one of them was a girl, and honestly this is too much background reading to be a goon. and it doesn’t really matter if you get their names mixed up, because it will inevitably end with you beaten unconscious and ziptied to a telephone pole. can’t keep things straight with a concussion anyway.
so, fic where a random group of thugs decides to kidnap a Robin and sell them off to their nemesis. only they get the Robins wrong. every time.
Hood squints up at Deathstroke. Deathstroke stares down at him. “in which universe does this look like Nightwing to you?” “he’s got wings on his chest!” “that’s a bat, you moron.” “oh, uh--wait, where are you going?” “you managed to snag the one Bat that’s not opposed to killing, and I’m not going to sit around here and wait while he blows this warehouse up.” “but we searched him--urk!” the warehouse explodes when Deathstroke is two blocks away.
Red Robin groans and pulls himself off the floor of the warehouse. Black Mask makes a hissed growl. “you got the wrong Red, you utter moron!” “s-sorry, but you said--” “I gave you a very clear description! I said red helmet! does this idiot look like he has a red helmet to you?” Red Robin yawns, politely covering his mouth. none of the goons notice that his hands are free. “what am I supposed to do with this skinny-ass creativity-challenged kid, huh?” snick of a bo staff extending. “oh,” Red Robin smiles, “I have a few ideas.” screams.
Spoiler stares unblinking. Ra’s al Ghul stares back, also unblinking. the cave glitters with green light. there is a marble chessboard between them. “would you like a game?” “sure, sounds like fun!” both of them ignore the screams of the hapless goons in the background.
Robin snarls like a vengeful rattlesnake, trussed up with a giant bow on his head. Cluemaster fights the urge to break something. “I’m sorry, but which one of you idiots identified this kid as my daughter?” “I--we--um--” “he’s the wrong age, gender, race--” “we didn’t want to assume!” “aw, how progressive of you!” everyone looks up. Nightwing is perched there, smiling. Batman is perched there, not smiling. “oh shit--”
Deathstroke stares upward, as though searching for patience. “you called me here, wasting my considerably expensive time, to tell me that you have Robin.” “yessir.” “why do you think I give a flying fuck about Robin?” “you--you hate the Teen Titans, right?” “that was ten years ago--you know what, fuck it, fine, show me the kid.” the goons haul in Nightwing. Deathstroke stares, and then smiles. “well, what do you know, you idiots finally managed to get your Robins right.” the goons perk up. “so you’ll buy him?” Deathstroke unsheathes his sword.
“oh, I didn’t say that.”

Bruce isn’t the one with a crippling desire to adopt any black-haired child thrust in front of him. no, that’s one hundred percent his children’s fault.
(or, elder batkid holding younger soon-to-be batkid like simba in lion king: “adopt him, or I will.”)
Nightwing finds Jason stealing the Batmobile’s tires. he’s amused. he finds out that Jason doesn’t have a family and he makes the puppy dog eyes at Batman, the ones he knows Bruce can’t resist. Batman tries to stay strong. Nightwing uses his secret weapon and informs Bruce that if he doesn’t take Jason in, Dick will. Bruce folds like a bad hand (he can’t have grandchildren at this young) and tries to console himself that it’s just this once.
(we all know that’s a lie.)
Red Hood does his whole showdown at the Tower. in the process of insults being bandied about, he finds out that Tim has not yet been adopted by Bruce. Jason is affronted. outraged, even. this whole showdown loses half the emotional punch if Tim hasn’t been adopted. Jason didn’t come here to beat up some random kid wearing Robin colors! Batman is extremely surprised to see Gotham’s latest crime lord appear in front of him with a growled ultimatum and a bruised Robin dangling from his grip like a scruffed kitten. Batman doesn’t know why Hood’s threatening to adopt Robin, but of course he can’t let his son Tim be kidnapped. it’s only when he’s filing the papers that he realizes why it sounded so familiar, and Jason is trying to reschedule his showdown with Robin when he’s attacked by a weepy Batman.
(Bruce is starting to wonder about his children and their propensity for adoption.)
Tim gets attacked in the Cave by a ninja with a sword. a very small ninja who proclaims himself the Son of the Bat. Tim is beyond excited, this is his chance to adopt someone into the family. Tim presents Bruce with a hogtied Damian and chirps the line at him, beaming. Bruce blinks at him. (“Tim, you’re bleeding.” “tis but a flesh wound.” *muffled shouting* “oh, apparently it’s poisoned, but I feel fine.” “TIM--”) Damian is none too pleased by Tim’s claim--“I have no need of your ridiculous threats, I am Father’s rightful heir!”--but is secretly happy to be assured of a place in this strange tradition.
(“No, stop laughing Clark, this is a real problem, Damian tried to get me to adopt Jon the other day--I said stop laughing--”)

okay so one of those ‘take a canon scene and see how it works in fanon batfam’ ideas. in this case, the Batman v Red Hood fight, you know the one, yes that one where Bruce beats the everloving shit out of a Jason that’s not fighting back.
how do you make this work in batfam, you ask? well 😈.
Jason needs connections in the underworld for some case. problem is, Hood’s been an antihero for a good long while now, and most people consider him a Bat. Jason’s solution is simple--stage a confrontation so public and so egregious that the entirety of Gotham knows he’s not a Bat anymore.
and whaddya know? Batman’s the only Bat in Gotham at the moment. Steph’s visiting Cass in Hong Kong, Tim’s in San Francisco, Damian’s spending the month in Bludhaven with Nightwing, it couldn’t be easier. Jason just has to convince Bruce of this plan and they’re good to go!
(Jason does a whole monologue to try and convince Bruce, ending on the ultimatum, “if you don’t help me, I’ll find someone who will!” Bruce panics. he’d rather have Jason plot a fake confrontation with him than go fight-flirt with Black Mask. one villain son-in-law is more than enough.)
it’s a whole production. Jason writes scene directions. there’s fake blood. a dramatic monologue. Batman tears the red bat off his chest. the kind of shit that Gothamites would eat up. by the end of this fight, no one in Gotham will think Red Hood is a Bat.
the plan goes off really, really well.
until it doesn’t.
what Jason maybe hasn’t considered is the vast plethora of people who love him, who would drop everything and come running to save him, and who’ve watched a bunch of footage of Batman beating the shit out of him. while Jason is completely off grid and unable to answer any calls.
Jason returns to the Cave to update Bruce that he found the intel he was looking for, only to find him being held at swordpoint by Talia al Ghul while a furious and weepy Dick demands to know why he did it. the rest of the family stand in silent judgment.
the Cave: *crickets* Bruce, pointing at Jason: it was his idea

on a more cracky note: Bruce getting possessed by something. it details how it’s going to completely ruin his life, bit by bit, inch by inch, and no one will ever ever know because Bruce exclusively communicates in grunts anyway.
Bruce freaking out, trapped in the back of his head, forced to watch as the entity interacts with his family with no one seemingly the wiser.
in reality, everyone immediately cottoned onto the fact that Bruce is acting weird and they’re all exchanging theories and solutions in the background and Bruce is unpossessed by dinner.
Dick: it got the tone of your hns wrong, it was more of a space is the absolute worst I hate it hn when it should’ve been a this city stinks like garbage hn.
Jason: you didn’t look constipated when you saw me shoot someone.
Tim: you only double-checked the mission info six times.
Cass: moved weird.
Steph: you didn’t make that eyebrow crinkle when I cracked a joke like you’re trying to be stern but inside you’re laughing because we all know I’m hilarious.
Damian: as if I don’t regularly check you all for possession, tt.
Alfred: I know everything, Master Bruce.

The Golden Joinery
for #transnaturalweek day 1: team free will + day 3: family
↳ summary: dean recounts a memory from california that changed his life. PRIDE series | gen, sam & dean | word count: 1.4k
[READ ON AO3]
They used to take more hunts in California when they were younger and Dad was still calling the shots.
It’s why Sam eventually developed his idea of Stanford; he’d always been drawn to the sunny weather and the beaches along the coast of the Golden State, and though Dean tried, he couldn’t really fault him. California had meant a lot to him, too.
There was a case that led them to a small town near San Francisco one summer. The heat wasn’t so bad this far north, and on the weekends they’d have time to walk to the wharf. Sam liked watching all the people and their dogs, often pointing out the different breeds and telling Dean why he’d prefer one over the other. The wind on their faces was nice and cool, and if Dean closed his eyes he could imagine they were on a nice and peaceful joyride in the Impala. Just the two of them.
It was around this time that Sam had started shooting up like a weed. He was at Dean’s shoulder now, and he didn’t have to tip-toe for a good hug when the occasion called for it. He didn’t need the bedtime stories, and he was getting the hang of things, too. Started calling him ‘Dean’ in his second year of high school, and offered to cut Dean’s hair once when it’d began growing back.
They never talked about it, though. It wasn’t something Dean really wanted to discuss, because if you couldn’t get it just by looking at him, then you didn’t need to know.
John got it. The difference was, he didn’t want to know, and so half the time he was yelling at Dean it wasn’t because of a fuck up on a hunt—it was that his hair was too short or he wasn’t acting like a lady, or whatever bullshit he could spare to spit at him through the rim of his third beer.
Dean would rather be scolded about the hunts. He’d rather John tell him that his form was wrong, or that he hadn’t cast a spell correctly, because those were things Dean could fix. But this…
“Dean,” Sam smacks his arm, and Dean lifts his head to pay attention. Sam points over at a dog walking by the shore, tongue hanging out of its mouth to drip sweat along the sand.
“That’s a golden! Oh, it’s really cute. I want one like that, if we ever get the chance,” he says. Sam keeps his eyes trained on it until the dog and its owner disappear from view, and then slides his gaze back to Dean. His smile falters a little. “What? You don’t?”
Dean shrugs, “‘Cute?’” he mocks, “I dunno, Sam. Probably sheds everywhere. And how would we take it places? On hunts and stuff like that?”
Sam rolls his eyes, turning back to survey the beach. It’s early enough that they’re both wearing jackets to fight the coastal cold, but the sun is just starting to peek through the morning haze. Dean takes a moment to dread taking his jacket off. It’s a favorite of his, one that John had let him keep because the leather was worn in some places, and it was the perfect amount of baggy to hide his chest. Dean’ll just suggest heading back early if he has to, to keep from taking it off.
“You know how,” Sam says, annoyed. “I’ve told you plenty of times. We settle down somewhere and I can keep it with me when you go to college. Dad won’t say anything about it then because he’ll still be off on his suicidal man hunt on the other side of the country.”
Dean’s too tired to argue it today, so he just huffs shortly in amusement. Sam’s teenage rebelliousness, especially towards John, has been a point of debate between them for a year or so now. Dean plays Devil’s Advocate, which is apparently his favorite team.
There’s silence and the sound of waves, and Dean’s mentally calculating how much time they’ve got before he starts sweating up a storm in this leather when Sam shifts his weight a little on the grass.
“San Francisco is nice,” he starts, in that tone that Dean knows to be Sam’s lead up to a proposition. Dean lifts an eyebrow.
“I guess.”
“Would be nice to live here,” Sam says, “don’t you think?”
Dean doesn't answer that. Instead, he picks at the grass around his legs, ripping them to bits.
“They uh,” Sam clears his throat, “the people here are...more open minded, than some other places.”
Dean’s heart starts to race. He thinks of the week before, when he’d snuck out of the motel to go to a bar with a brightly colored sign. One that was filled with men, and nothing more. He swallows.
“Yeah I uh,” he shrugs, “I guess so.”
His mind races through the rest of that night; mostly observing, a few nice chats here or there, and a quick explanation in the hallway in front of some guy’s apartment. Open, Dean thinks.
Finally, Sam turns to him fully.
“I was doing research the other day, about doctors in the area.”
“Doctors,” Dean repeats. He thinks of the wad of cash he keeps stored in his boots.
“Yeah. I’ve been saving up, and I know you have been too, and I found someone that might be able to do it for you,” Sam rushes to say. “If you want to, of course. I think they’re legit.”
Dean sucks in a shaky breath. He can hear every wave crashing, every conversation on this side of the peer and the other. A plane flies overhead.
“Do what for me?”
Sam’s got his sympathetic look on, and Dean’s walls go up in defense. Sam’s been saving up for him, he’s known—well, of course he’s known, but this makes it real.
“Dean,” Sam says softly, “you know what.”
The back of his neck is starting to burn from the sun, so Dean stands on wobbly legs. He brushes his hands off on his jeans.
“C’mon. Time to go.”
Sam stays seated, looking up at him.
“Dean, you’re my big brother,” he says. “I just...want you to be happy. That’s all.”
Dean shifts from one leg to the other. He squints up at the sun for a second.
“You really believe that?”
“Believe what?” Sam asks.
“That I’m your…”
Sam stands and claps a hand on Dean’s shoulder. When Dean looks over, Sam’s smiling brightly back at him.
“‘Course you are,” he says, “and you’ve always taken care of me when it wasn’t your job to do that. So…” He pauses. “Let me do something for you in return.”
Dean watches his vision blur, feels a track of wetness fall down his cheek and quickly brushes it away with the back of his hand. The hand on his shoulder squeezes, and then Dean’s nodding, and Sam’s hugging him. A wet laugh erupts from Dean’s throat.
“What about dad?” he asks. Sam pulls back.
“Screw dad,” he says, “he can’t tell you what you can and can’t do with your body. You’re eighteen.”
“He could kick me out,” Dean argues.
Sam scoffs, “Of what? The backseat of the car? Please, Dean. You know we can take care of ourselves on our own, anyway. You’ve been doing it your whole life. My whole life.”
But I don’t want to lose him, Dean wants to say. Instead, he nods. Sam’s right, anyway. They’ll be fine. He’ll be fine.
Something catches his eye over Sam’s shoulder, and Dean nudges him to get Sam to turn and look, too.
“So youll take a labrador, but not a golden retriever? They’re practically the same thing,” Sam complains, but when he turns back to Dean he’s obviously teasing, a smirk on his face.
“What?” Dean motions over to it again, “It doesn’t look like it sheds as much.”
Sam sighs, bending down to retrieve his discarded coat and throwing it over his shoulder. He straightens again.
“Guess that’ll be the next thing I’ll have to get you to agree to,” he shrugs, “one down, three hundred or so more to go.”
Sam starts back down towards the direction they’d come from, looking at ease with the summer sun. Dean can easily picture him back here in a few years, with the dog he’s always wanted, and a girl holding his hand. Maybe, in a few years, he’ll have what he wants, too. He takes a step to follow, and for the first time in his life, Dean knows he’s going in the right direction.

Could you do a Dire Crowley x Male teacher reader scenario nfsw please? I’m just in the mood now..
I dont take nsfw scenarios, only headcanons!! I’m sorry!! That’s probably my fault because I haven’t fixed the link for the rules ヾ( ̄0 ̄;ノ I made this as a (kind of) general nsfw hcs but your relationship with Crowley is more of a fwb type!!
I hope this satisfies you still ٩(*•͈ ꇴ •͈*)و ̑̑❀
Warnings: NSFW UNDERCUT!! MINORS DNI Tags: semi-public, light restraints (mention), mild degradation, praise kink, male!reader
"...now, don't forget to turn in your essays on Thursday next week. Take note: it is a two-page, essay!"
You sighed at how eager your students left the classroom, knowing well that they couldn't wait for you to dismiss them anyway. Not that you mind. You're well aware that your students are tired for the day so you rewarded them with an early dismissal.
"No pushing and running out the door now! Show some respect for your subject teacher. Goodness!"
Ah, yes, the early dismissal was for another thing, too.
The Headmaster dropped by (literally) to provide "extra motivation" for students after classes. It was rather thoughtful of him to do so...if you weren't well aware of his other endeavors to have him flock to you after classes.
"What a kind sir you are, rewarding your students greatly!" Headmaster Crowley chuckled almost akin to a crow. You stacked your teaching books neatly to one side before turning around to meet the headmaster. Both of you nearly bumped noses with each other. Well, in this case, you nearly poked yourself in the eye with the beak of his mask. You smiled when Crowley composed himself but did not set a distance.
"And I suppose you would want a reward too?"
The sudden stiffness of his posture is enough of an answer.
You tilt your head at him, a smile that only Crowley can decipher. "Alright. Who am I to deny my gracious headmaster?"
➸ To make things clear between the both of you: you're more than friends but less than lovers. The students don't really know if you guys are dating or not. The juniors try to make it their business but failed to get any straight answers.
➸ The Headmaster is a switch, definitely, but leaning more towards being a power bottom. It's in his entire vibe. He may exude mysterious daddy vibes that can bend you over his office table and pound your ass but think about it--only bottoms TALK SO DAMN MUCH-
➸ Look me in the eyes and tell me this man doesn't release bratty power bottom energy.
➸ He's got a mix of praise and degrading kink. With praise, he is willing to give it as he likes receiving it. You can see imaginary feathers ruffle up when he drinks in your honey praises. He loves it when you tell him what a good boy he is while you're stroking his hair. At the same time, he loves being called a rotten, perverted man as you tightly grip his hair.
➸ You actually didn't think he would have a degrading kink. You thought he'd be so into that but you observed with your sessions together that he deserves more praises than insults. You tried to balance the two but you realized that degrading him when he starts getting bratty then easing into praises is a better way to make him more pliable.
➸ Though, when Crowley praises you, he really sings them. He becomes a bumbling fool when he's under you, taking your cock (or his cock when you wanna ride him) eagerly and stammering praises of how good you feel and how amazing you are. He can make you blush by the eloquence of his compliments.
➸ Having sex naked is for rare and more intimate moments. Most of the time (and Crowley wordlessly insists) you both get frisky with only half your clothes off. You already know why ;)
➸ "There's something sexy about neckties, yknow? So sharp and elegant." | "Dire, if you have any particular interest in light bondage you can tell me."
➸ He's not wrong is he? Impromptu and light bondage is his preference. Even though he wants it to be done to him mostly, he'd still ask you if you're fine with a bit of restraints! If you are then get ready for a lot of flirting that involves tie pulling and tie bondage LMAO
➸ Another kink of his: he likes to gift you pieces of jewelry that you graciously wear yourself. He doesn't want you to take them off especially when you fuck.
➸ Fucking....crows.....
➸ He's a raven actually but-
➸ HE ALSO MAKES USE OF YOUR TITLE AS A TEACHER. HE CALLS YOU SIR. In every!! way!! he gets to!! You know he's a brat needing your attention when his sir sounds a little more than professional.
➸ You wonder where this man's decency is because he always wants to do it with you after classes or at his office. You indulge him anyways; grinding your arousal with each other, an intense and heated make-out session against the desk, until you pull away and tell him that you both should take it elsewhere lest your students walk in with. They do not need to be traumatized.
➸ Quickies and semi-public sex with Crowley hit differently when you two take it to bed, though. When you're out doing frivolous activities at school like two rowdy teenagers, there's this almost rebellious atmosphere, the thrill of doing the act. However, in private that atmosphere completely shifts and you'd find yourself wondering if there's any meaning to your intimate dance
➸ And when aftercare happens that warm feeling just grows. He always insists on taking care of you after sex. He does the equivalent of preening (from what you noticed) which is stroking your head and nuzzling your neck. He cleans you up from your neck down to your feet then bundles you in blankets. This level of comfort doesn't happen when you fuck at school but he makes it up by fixing your uniform and buying you food.
➸ You scold him when he takes too long cleaning around your dick though.
➸ Could you be more than friends that are not less than lovers? That's a conversation for both of you to tackle next time.

“Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear grandma, happy birthday to you!” the sound of multiple claps echo across the room, symbolizing the start of a new year for you.
Today was your 75th birthday celebration and around you were your two grandkids along with your only daughter. It seemed as the years went by, the need for such grand celebrations weren’t as important as they used to be. A simple cutting of the cake surrounded by the people you love being enough to suffice.
“Grandma! You have to blow the candles out!” your youngest grandson eagerly reminds you, ready to blow them out himself if you didn’t take action soon, “and don’t forget to make a wish and don’t tell us or else it won’t come true!”
“Mm,” you smile warmly, gently closing your eyes and puffing a gentle huff of air, your mind blank of any wishes, for you had stopped believing in the magic of wishes a long long time ago.
“Alright, now to cut it … Jia go grab a cutting knife from the block set,” you hear your daughter command your oldest grandchild, who at this moment was clearly too consumed with whatever she had going on in her phone to even bother listening, “Jia!” she finally snaps her head up at the sound of her mother’s voice raising an octave, “How many times do I have to tell you to stop using that phone so much, not only is it rude but we’re celebrating your grandma’s birthday. The least you can do is have the courtesy to turn off your phone.”
She rolls her eyes in response, “Mom, I’m sure grandma doesn’t mind … right grandma?” she flashes you the toothy grin that you were used to seeing whenever she wanted something, knowing she’s always had a special place in your heart as the first grandchild.
All you can do is chuckle softly, feeling too old to entertain and be dragged into the bickering arguments between your daughter and granddaughter. Carefully you get up yourself and grab a cutting knife despite your daughter’s pleas to sit.
“Look at what you’ve made your grandma do Ji—” but before your daughter could continue with her scolding, you raise a hand as a gesture of interrupting.
“I’m old, but I’m not that old Yeojin, getting up to grab a knife isn’t the end of the world for me,” you sigh, “Now let’s stop with all of the bickering and eat some cake.”
It was odd really, growing up you could never exactly picture yourself getting to this age (not that you weren’t ever hoping to), but like any other person you just always pictured yourself being young forever.
It wasn’t until your first gray hair appeared several years ago that it suddenly struck you that you really were actually aging. From there the wrinkles upon your skin grew to be more prevalent and things you had no problem doing when you were in your teenage years began to consume much more energy from you.
And now that you observed yourself in the mirror, here on your 75th birthday, did you realize that life had really gone by in the blink of an eye.
Of course 75 wasn’t too old of an age, but now retired and living under the light supervision of your nearly 50 year old daughter, you had long ago realized that the days of wild adventures and endless partying were long over. In a way it was time to start asking yourself if you had lived a life you could be proud of and if you fulfilled the promise you made over 50 years ago.
Honestly, you were unsure, but before you could dwell on your thoughts for any longer, the sound of an argument going on downstairs catches your attention.
“Hand me the phone Jia!” you hear your daughter’s voice yell across the room as you made your way into the living room.
“I said no! I’m not twelve anymore, you can’t just make me hand you my things whenever you want,” Jia scoffs in return, adamant on her rebellious stance.
“Considering that I’m the one whose paying that phone bill every month, I wouldn’t exactly call it yours little lady,” Yeojin sternly furrows her brows while her hand continued to remain held out, her patience running on a thin line, “Jia if you don’t give me that phone then—”
“What?” she interrupts, challenging whatever her mother was going to say. With your newly profound headache growing by the second, you grab the keys to your small old Toyota, deciding that you weren’t going to be helping handle this on your birthday.
Their voices, which became nothing more than background noise while you grabbed your winter jacket, were brought back to your attention once you were making your way out the door.
“Mom where are you going?” Yeojin asks before you could run off, “It’s raining and you shouldn’t be driving at this hour of night.”
“And why is that?”
“Because Grandma you’re—” Jia suddenly chimes in, “well you’re um—” old, is what you know your granddaughter wants to say, but out of respect chooses not to.
You sigh, “I’m just going to the diner to grab myself a late night snack while you two continue with your useless arguing. Hopefully when I come back, you two will have realized how pointless these arguments are.”
“Mom—” Yeojin begins, but almost as if a lightbulb went off in her head, she suddenly grabs Jia’s phone while she was distracted in watching you leave, “Go with your grandma,” she commands, and Jia’s eyes immediately go wide.
“Hey you can’t just—” Jia’s about to complain until she sees the firm look on her mother’s face, “But—” she glances in your direction, knowing that just like her mom, she wouldn’t feel too good having you out driving this late at night, especially on a rainy day.
“You cried about getting your permit for months, now is the time to put it to use,” Yeojin sends her knowing look, recalling the number of months that Jia would complain about all of her classmates getting either their permits or license’s while she was still stuck taking the bus.
“Ugh,” she groans, “Fine, grandma wait for me in the car,” she ultimately says. After putting on her shoes, Jia begins to make her way out to the car, but not before her mother stops her midway to tell her to “Drive safe.”
“Mom, I know,” she scoffs, “but don’t expect me to spend hours there or something. We’re strictly going for whatever food she wants and back. No way in hell are we dining in.”
To that, Yeojin laughs. There was no way her mother wouldn’t want to dine in, but deciding she’d let Jia figure that out on her own, instead she says, “Well as long as you listen to whatever your grandma has to say to you then I don’t mind what time you come back.”
“That’s if she doesn’t put me to sleep first,” Jia mumbles to herself, but still loud enough for her mother to hear.
One could say, she wasn’t exactly looking forward to spending one on one time with her grandma, not without her phone at least. Of course that didn’t mean she didn’t love her grandma to death because truly she did, but often she found herself halfway asleep whenever she had long conversations with her. The same old endearing “you and your mother need to learn to communicate” or the “back in my day” conversations were quite repetitive.
“Mm, you need to start putting that attitude of yours under control little lady,” Yeojin shakes her head in disapproval, “I understand that your grandma can be a bit…”
“Boring,” Jia completes the sentence for her.
“Tedious,” Yeojin corrects, “at times, but occasionally she has an interesting story to tell here and there,” she chuckles, “so don’t count her out just yet. You may be surprised with whatever story she has prepared to tell.”
And with that all Jia could do was sigh, preparing for the long night ahead.
“Grandma, we’ve been here for like 2 hours now,” Jia complains, staring at you as you ate your BLT sandwich, the sound of both loud and pleased munches coming out of your mouth, “You’re really telling me you’re not full yet?”
With a mouthful of food in your mouth, you shake your head no. It isn’t until you gulp down your food that you’re able to verbally give a response, “You know I’m a slow eater, plus it’s my birthday. You don’t hear me complain on your birthday, do you?”
To that, Jia remained silent. She guessed you had a point, not like there was much left for an elderly lady like you to do. The least she could do was suck up her complaints, and deal with it. It just sucked that whenever she looked up at the wall clock it seemed like time was moving as slow as a snail.
God, how she should’ve somehow managed to take back her phone. It also didn’t help that those “stories” her mom had mentioned weren’t planning on making an appearance tonight because all you did was silently eat your food and stare out the window.
Honestly, Jia hadn’t expected much but it seemed as if today you were even quieter than usual, not even bothering to make the small conversation you usually did, like asking her how school was going or if she had a boyfriend yet (not that she ever responded truthfully). So in short, you were doing absolutely nothing to appease Jia’s boredom.
All Jia could do was tap her nails against the old diner’s table and observe the other late night foodies around you two.
The first person she noticed was a middle aged man who was eating a burger along with a strawberry shake. Based on his tiresome appearance and the hat he wore, she could only assume that he was most likely a trucker who needed to make a pit stop.
The second person she noticed was not a single person, but a group of three. A father, a mother, and their little daughter. The sight of them tugging slightly at her heart strings, reminding her of a time in her childhood before her parents’ divorce. If only she had appreciated those moments a little more while they were happening.
Deciding that she wasn’t in the mood for nostalgic sulking, she instead focused her attention on the last set of people in the diner. A couple, who was only a couple of feet away from you two, seated in one of the booths rather than at a table like Jia and you.
The young man, who Jia assumed was in his mid 20′s, was seated with a woman who was just as good looking as him. The two of them sat facing across from one another rather than besides each other, the serious look on their faces clearly signaling that whatever they were talking about was of importance.
It wasn’t until she took a clearer look at the woman that she realized she was crying, the sounds of her whimpers becoming clearer once she had taken note of the woman’s disheveled appearance. It looked like she had been crying for hours, her hand holding onto the man’s at the center of the table as if begging him to stay…
“Yejin we just can’t be together anymore,” Jia overhears the man say, and it’s only then that she realizes that the woman is begging him to stay.
“Jimin, all I’m asking is why?” she hears the woman plead, her voice sounding weak and defeated, “I just— I just don’t understand—” she manages to stutter the sentence out, “Does it have to do with what you were telling me the other night? About feeling incompenent with your career?”
He vigorously shakes his head no, prepared to deny the accusation, “No—”
But she’s quick to cut him off, “Because if it is,” she squeezes his hand tighter, “I already told you I don’t care. I don’t care if you’re the poorest or richest man on the planet, okay? As long as I’m with you, I just don’t care,” she repeats, “You’re my person Jimin,” the woman, who Jia now identified as Yejin, with whatever energy she had left, forced a small smile to grace upon her lips.
A small smile that spoke nothing but genuine love for the man across from her, but with eyes that were desperately hoping for a small sign that the man in front of her would break, “You’re all I have.”
The man, Jimin, instead of reciprocating the warm gesture, pulls his hands away, forcing himself to be the ultimate bad guy in this story.
This was for the best he reasoned with himself, not for him, but for her.
The woman in front of him who he loved so much that he couldn’t bear the thought of denying her a future where she’d have to worry everyday about what their future held, even if it meant not being with him,
“It’s for that reason that we can’t….” he clears his throat, “After tonight we’ll be nothing more than strangers.” he says in a voice that hid any feeling of despair he felt, saving the emotion for later when he was by himself.
“Please,” her voice breaks, “Jimin please,” a single teardrop falls from her eye, “Our future, it'll be worth it, I promise. Every stupid stubborn inch of it because as long as I’m by your side we’ll get through anything. And when we’re old and gray we’ll laugh about this stupid conversation—”
“Yejin—”
“No,” Yejin shakes her head vigorously, desperately fighting tooth and nail for her boyfriend of 7 years and her childhood friend of even more, the person she thought she’d been through it all with, “I refuse to—”
“Yejin!” he firmly interrupts her before she could continue, unsure of just how much more he could hear, “Look at me.” Fuck Yejin. Don’t do this to me. Just accept it., was all he could think at the moment, “I’m—” for a second he struggles to say the words, struggles to officially shatter the heart that had trusted him enough to show itself completely bare, “I’m doing this for me. I’m choosing me. And I don’t know what else I can say or do for you to realize that,” how disgusting it felt to spew the lies out of his mouth.
And it was once he said those words, that Yejin no longer fought against what was happening. It was then that Jimin knew, she had finally accepted it.
The two sat there in silence for what felt like an eternity, until Yejin grabbed her keys from the table, mustering the courage to be the first one to leave, but not before planting a soft kiss on top of Jimin’s head, a final gesture of good bye.
Jia, who’d witness the whole heartbreaking scene play out in front of her, struggled to tear her eyes away. But it was once she did, that she had noticed she wasn’t the only one who had paid attention to the break up.
Watching the couple, you looked as if you’d seen a ghost, truly at a loss for words. Never did you imagine you’d witness history repeat itself.
A voice breaks you away from your thoughts, “Grandma, are you okay?” Jia warily asks, concerned with why you looked so shocked.
“Oh,” you blink rapidly as if being brought back to reality, “Yeah, it’s just—” you glance at the booth once again, watching the man sulk in his seat.
His head was leaned against the glass window, dazedly looking at the view outside. By now his eyes were puffy, the emotions he had kept bottled in, now manifesting itself in the salty tears that were now silently falling down his face.
And before you could think twice, you grabbed the extra sandwich you had ordered and began to walk towards his booth, Jia following behind with a shocked expression.
“Grandma, what are you doing?!” she asks in a panicky tone, but before she could stop you from doing anything, you were already standing beside the booth the man was in.
The dirty-blonde haired man turns his attention towards the two of you, a worn out expression on his face.
“You seem like you could use this,” you offer him the sandwich with a warm smile on your face, “a young man like you shouldn’t be in such distress, or else you’ll end up with wrinkles like mine,” you try to joke around, an attempt to brighten the mood.
He lets out a forced chuckle, showing you that despite his down mood, he was still a very polite young man through and through.
“You don’t mind if we…” you stare at the seat across from him, signaling that you were hoping to sit.
He looks as if he wants to say no, shyly avoiding eye contact for a moment, unsure of how to reject a kind old woman.
“Oh it’s just that um—” but before he could spew out an excuse, you were already making yourself comfortable in the booth, your granddaughter hesitantly sitting in the spot next to him, still giving you the “What are you doing” eyes.
He feigns an awkward smile, scolding himself for being so timid. It wasn’t that he didn’t appreciate the kind gesture, for any other day he would’ve been more than happy to receive a free BLT sandwich and make conversation with an elder, but tonight … well tonight he just wanted to sulk in his own misery.
“So what is a young man like you doing out here so late at night?” you ask, the closed eye smile on your face causing your wrinkles to protrude.
He remains silent, unsure of what to respond with, “Was that your girlfriend just now who left?” you boldly ask, the phrase “having a filter” clearly not in your dictionary.
“Grandma!” Jia frantically says, “Sir I’m sorry, we’ll leave now,” she forces an awkward laugh, now getting up from the booth, “she can be a bit pushy—”
“She’s my ex now,” he surprisingly answers, catching not only Jia but himself off guard.
You on the other hand remain with a warm sympathetic smile on your face.
Honestly, he wasn’t sure what came over him to be so straightforward. He’d been holding so much in for so long, he figured that maybe it wouldn’t hurt to talk to a random old lady and her granddaughter for a night. Not like he’d ever see them again, right?
Letting out a bitter scoff directed at himself, he continues, “I broke up with her just now Mrs—”
“Ms. y/l/n,” you correct him, “and this is my granddaughter Jia,” you signal to Jia to sit back down, and she watches the two of you with wary eyes, confused by the sudden conversational exchange between the two of you.
Hmm, well she did want to know why he broke up with his girlfriend, so maybe it wouldn’t hurt to just sit and listen for a bit. Shaking his hand, she seats herself once more.
“You don’t seem too happy about your break up, for someone who did the breaking that is…” you lightheartedly comment, secretly analyzing his tense posture. Though relaxing just a bit, it was clear that he still didn’t feel completely comfortable sharing the details of his private life. It wasn’t surprising really, you were nothing more than a stranger. It wasn’t like you expected him to be so open, not right away at least, “you don’t mind me asking why?”
“Because—” he pauses for a moment, trying to find the right words, “we—” he sighs, holding back, “we just weren’t meant to be,” he ultimately says with a small sad smile on his face.
You stare at him for what feels like an eternity, a frown now on your face.
“And what makes you say that?” you ask.
He gulps, the intense stare from both you and Jia now making him nervous, “Because she’s destined for greatness,” he longingly states, “and I was nothing more than an obstacle along the way even if she didn’t realize it,” he looks down at the table, “Because all I want in this world is for her to live a long happy life, a life where she can do anything she pleases whenever she wants, without a worry in the world,” he concludes, now sporting a dull expression.
“You—” you clench your teeth, almost looking at him in disgust, “You stupid boy,” you harshly mumble, but still loud enough for both him and Jia to hear.
“Grandma!” Jia’s eyes widen, taken aback by your sudden rude remark, but all you can do is continue to stare at the man in front of you, a pained expression on your face. Almost as if you wanted to cry.
Jimin on the other hand didn’t know what to make of your words. Was he offended? No, not really. Surprised? Couldn’t say he was. Was it deserved? He’d like to think so. “Look—” he’s about to say something until you interrupt him.
“What about you?” you demand pointedly, “Don’t you care about what you want? What about your happiness?” you feel your upper lip tremble along with a rush of emotions that you were sure you hadn’t felt in years.
Anger. Sadness. Fear.
Everything you had kept bottled in for so long was beginning to make its appearance all because you witnessed this young man break up with his girlfriend.
“Grandma I think we should g—”
“No,” you firmly state, your voice slightly trembling, “I’m not going to let it happen again, I can’t,” a single tear falls from your face as you come into eye contact with the young man. God, he looked so much like him.
Wiping the tear away, you quickly compose yourself, “I’m going to tell the two of you a story,” you point towards the boy, “and you better listen good and well,” you turn to your granddaughter, “you too little lady because it’s a lesson that can be learned by anyone.”
Her face twists to one of skepticism, but she silently nods her head, deciding she wasn’t going to push your buttons for she had never seen you act like this before. Jimin does the same as well, now fearing getting on your wrong side.
“Good,” you let out a deep breath of air, unsure of where to start.
This was the first time in your life that you were telling someone absolutely everything, and never had you imagined it’d be in this exact diner with some random stranger (who you’d just happen to be a first hand witness of his breakup) and your granddaughter.
But a part of you couldn’t help but think that maybe …just maybe it was meant to be this way. That coming to this diner and witnessing what you’d just seen was the universe’s way of telling you that just because your fate was already sealed, didn’t mean you couldn’t change someone else’s. And so you continue, “So I guess…” you pause, “I guess we should start at the beginning.”
“It was the year 1992, Nirvana had just released their all too famous album ‘Nevermind’ months prior to the new year, marking the first shift that we’d see in pop culture during the 90’s. People my age were beginning to slowly throw away their mousse bottles and bright colored outfits and opting in for a more toned down look of mom-jeans and oversized band shirts.
I had just turned 17 at the time and moved here to the city of Gwacheon because of my dad’s job. You wouldn’t believe me but back then this city we know now was a snooze fest. It was nothing but government official buildings and a vacant town center that played outdated music.
I remember being so bitter about moving because like any other teen who moved from one city to another, I had just barely begun to make friends in the city before, only to find out I’d have to leave months later.
I remember having a childish frown on my face the whole ride to the new neighborhood, convinced that by having a fit I’d somehow have my way and go back to the city before, but all in all that’s where the story begins…”
“Mom it’s just not fair!” you complain, crossing your arms while leaning your head against the window, watching as the new town you’d have to learn to call home was nearing with every stop, “I was just beginning to get used to that school, I was even supposed to go on a date!”
Sighing, your mom turns from the passenger's seat to face you, a mix of sympathy and annoyance on her face. It’d been over 4 hours already of hearing you complain in the car, and though your dad had learned to mute you out from the driver’s seat, your mom had to endure each and every complaint.
“Y/N you know your dad’s job requires him to move around from time to time, it’s something out of our control, unless you’re magically going to find him a job out there that pays him as much as his current one then be my guest,” she stares at you knowingly, while you stay silent.
She furrows her brows once she notices something about your appearance, “And what did I tell you about lining your lips like that? And that thing around your neck you’re wearing, you’re lucky it hasn’t suffocat—”
“It’s called a choker and everyone my age wears them mom,” you roll your eyes, wanting this conversation to be over now, despite it being you who started it, “times are changing meaning fashion is too.”
“I thought you kids liked the whole poofy hair and leg warmers kind of stuff. And that one man who's always on MTV,” she twiddles her fingers, trying to remember his name, “you know the one who danced as a zombie in that one video, how does it go again—” she begins to snap her fingers, humming the tune, “cause this is Thriller,” she sings.
“Michael Jackson mom, Michael Jackson,” you answer in annoyance, how the hell did she not know his name?
“Ahh that’s his name,” she laughs, “I’m sorry I’m not so invested in that kind of stuff like you young people are.”
You roll your eyes at this, “Mom I’m sure even grandma knows who Michael Jackson is, you’re just—” but before you could go on any further, the car suddenly comes to a halt.
“And here we are,” your dad finally speaks, an exhausted sigh coming out of his mouth.
The moving truck, which was following right behind you guys had made its stop as well and while your parents immediately stepped out the car to begin attending to the family things, you just looked at your new home in a mix of dismay and surprise. It was definitely a nice home, it’s resemblance to the houses around you being a bit uncanny.
Suddenly, interrupting your deep thinking, your car door opens.
Your mom, who for some reason had a complete 180 turn in attitude, now had an impatient look on her face along with an eyebrow raised. “You’re either going to help your dad take out our things or you’re coming with me to introduce ourselves to the neighbors.”
You stare at her for a moment, thinking to yourself which one you wanted to do. Though still slightly pissed off at your dad for his sudden bomb drop of news that you were all moving, you weren’t exactly in the mood to be social right now, let alone with your new neighbors as it would just ultimately mean having to accept the reality of your situation. “I think I’ll just—”
“Come with me? Great,” your mom answers for you, and you only groan in irritation. You couldn’t say you were shocked as this was only expected from her.
Getting out of the car, you begin to follow her to the next door neighbor’s house on the left side of your new home, your mom having come to the conclusion that the neighbors on the right side must’ve not been home due to the lack of cars in the driveway, “And remember y/n, be nice,” she reminds you, noticing the family SUV parked outside the house, she adds, “and who knows maybe there’s someone your age you can make friends with here.”
You stay silent, not sure if whether finding someone your age living inside the house would be a good or bad thing.
At your last house, there was a girl your exact same age who despite being a very kind person, was just a little too talkative. You’d often randomly find her in your room after learning that your mom let her in because she thought that “that’s what teen girls like to do right? Gossip and cut up some magazines in their room.” Not only would you find yourself getting migraines all the time but you were just too nice to kick her out.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
The muffled sound of what you could only assume were kids running around and things being thrown made you mumble “Oh great,” to yourself. If your mom got friendly with the neighbors like she somehow always did, you’d find yourself babysitting these kids sometime in the future for free.
Minutes pass and nothing.
Personally you took that as a sign of ‘do not disturb’ but your mom, being the relentless person she was, knocked one more time.
“Mom clearly they don’t want to—” and of course just as you were about to convince her to leave, the sound of the kids screaming and laughing comes to a sudden halt and the door swings wide open.
There in front of you stood a middle-aged woman, probably near your mom’s age, who had her hair completely disheveled and one of her kids (a little girl) in her arms while the other (a little boy) gripping onto her right leg like a sloth holding onto a branch.
Despite her stressed appearance, there was still a sense of motherly tidiness to her. “Hello,” your mom greets with a grin on her face, “we just came to introduce ourselves as your new next door neighbors,” she sticks her hand out for the woman to shake, “I’m y/m/n.”
The woman, who looks a bit confused at first, suddenly snaps back to reality with a “Ohh” expression on her face remembering that the house aside from her having its “For Sale” sign removed not too long ago.
She’s quick to shake your mom’s hand in return, “Kim Yerin,” she smiles, “and these are my twins, Minjun and Yeonha. Say hi you two,” she nudges the little girl in her arms who currently had her head rested on her mother’s shoulder while doing the same to the boy wrapped around her leg.
The two, clearly shy in front of strangers, only stare at the two of you with curious eyes, “And this must be your daughter I assume,” the woman faces her attention towards you, who had just been quietly watching the exchange, and waits for you to introduce yourself.
Your face slightly reddens when you feel your mother nudge you, “Y/N,” your introduction comes out as more of a whisper.
“And how old are you?” she curiously asks.
“Just turned seventeen,” you answer, an awkward smile forming on your face.
And as if a lightbulb suddenly went off on her head, a huge grin appears on her face, “You’re my older sons age,” she chuckles, “I don’t know if he’s come back home yet,” she mumbles looking behind her and your nerves begin to rise as you know what she’s about to do, “Seokjin!” she yells loud enough that her voice echoes across the walls of her home, “Give me a moment,” she flashes you two a smile before slightly closing the door, placing her foot in the ridge in order to create a crack so that it wouldn’t be completely closed. “Seokjin!” she calls for her son again, and soon you hear the sound of feet scuffling down the stairs.
“You and that camcorder, we have guests,” you hear her say.
“Say hiiii,” a voice behind the door says and you soon hear the kids giggle.
Yerin opens the door all the way once again, and to your surprise you come to face a tall boy with a camcorder blocking most of his face.
With the lens facing your direction, a whispered “Woah,” then comes out of his mouth. The sound of the lens zooming in causing your eyebrows to furrow in confusion.
“Seokjin,” his mother says more harshly, making him set the camera down and finally reveal his face. And once he did… wow were you surprised.
Though he was sporting what you considered an outdated mullet, the boy was relatively handsome. Currently dressed in a simple black fitted long sleeve shirt and cuffed blue jeans, the young man stuck his hand out for you to shake, a small smile gracing his lips.
“Seokjin but you can call me Jin for short,” he politely introduces himself.
Awkwardly avoiding eye contact, you return the shake, “Y/N.”
“Seokjin, I was just telling y/n here that you two are the same age, maybe you could show her around school this Monday,” she suggests, and your mom is quick to chime in.
“Maybe he can show her around town right now, I’m sure she’d love that, wouldn’t you y/n? That’s if he can of course,” she adds and your eyes widen at the suggestion. Soon it becomes apparent that both you and Jin are feeling flustered at both your mothers’ intrusiveness.
“I d-d—” you stutter.
“Mom…” he begins, his ears reddening. Unbeknownst to you, you’d soon find out that it was something that only occurred whenever he was nervous.
“I’ll even lend you the car this one time,” his mother says, grabbing the keys from the key rack next to door and handing them to him.
A silence momentarily fills the air, awkwardness seeping deep until Mrs. Kim breaks it, “Well go you two! me and Mrs….”
“Y/L/N,” your mom completes for her.
“Will be here drinking tea inside and waiting for you to return,” she gently pushes Jin, who had just put on his Converse, out the door while your mom begins to make her way inside, “And remember to drive safe Seokjin,” she says for a final time before practically slamming the door shut.
The two of you stand there for what feels like forever, staring at anything but each other’s eyes.
“Sorry about that, my mom can be a bit… pushy,” he says, and you want to tell him that it's fine, that your mom is exactly the same, but the words can’t seem to come out. “So…” he mumbles, barely audible to the ear, “Where should we go first?” he asks fiddling with keys in his hands, which only causes you to look at him in confusion. Did he forget you weren’t from here?
“Um…” you say, and slowly he fits the puzzle pieces and realizes what exactly he had asked.
“Oh right,” he awkwardly laughs, scratching the back of his neck as a nervous gesture.
You notice that he’s still holding his camcorder with the other hand, its small red button still glowing, and so out of nowhere you voice the first question that came to your mind.
“Is that thing still recording?” you ask which averts his attention to the grey bulky object in his hand.
“Oh I must’ve forgot to turn it off,” he says, genuinely surprised at his lousy mistake, “My bad,” he adds and you shake your head in a way to say that it was fine. “So … are you hungry?” he kindly asks, and you think to yourself for a moment … the two of you had to go somewhere as it wasn’t like you could just walk right back in and lie.
Gently, you shrug your shoulders, “Yeah I can go for something to eat,” you say, which by now was the longest sentence he’d heard you speak since your introduction to him.
“Great,” he smiles, making his way towards the Hyundai SUV with you following close behind. To your surprise he walks over to your side and opens the door “like a gentleman” before entering the car himself. You mumble a quiet “thank you,” in return.
It’s once he turns on the ignition that you begin to dread the awkwardness inside the car. It wasn’t that you weren’t a social person because truly you were, or at least you always tried to be. You were just never good at initiating conversations first because honestly, who was? The image of your mom immediately came to your mind, but she was different. That lady could spark a conversation with a plant if she really wanted to.
“And here’s the number one song in the country for a third week straight, Emotions by Mariah Carey!” the radio host announces and soon the famous tune begins to play causing Jin to tap his finger against the driving wheel, clearly a fan of the song.
You on the other hand kept your attention on the view outside, noting how boring this town was. From the dull buildings to the empty streets, everything was just so boring. But you couldn’t complain too much, for in a couple of months from now you’d be well off on your way to a college in the city of Seoul, which even though it wasn’t too far from here, it was still much more populated.
“So y/n,” Jin lowers the music down, “where did you move from?” he asks, an attempt at making conversation while driving.
“Buk district in Busan,” you answer in a short and precise manner.
“Oh…” he simply says, “Did you like it over there?”
The delivery of the question causes you to quietly chuckle to yourself, “Yeah I did,” you smile to yourself remembering the friends you had made over there, but almost immediately you remember that any chance of ever seeing them again was long gone, and a frown soon replaces the small smile.
Jin notices the change in facial expression from you, “Well I’m sure you’ll like it around here,” he attempts to comfort you, “I know things may look a little different, hell maybe even a little boring,” he laughs, “but trust me you’ll learn to love this place,” he flashes you a reassuring smile.
To that you could only feign a look of happiness. Not wanting to be a complete asshole, you try and think of something you could ask him, something to spark a conversation like he was trying to.
“It’s Jin right… “ you ask, and to that he nods, “um…” you hum, “how old are your siblings?” you stifly ask, adding an extra comment at the end, “I heard them being pretty um … hyper… before my mom knocked.”
Immediately a smile appears on his face, “Ahh Minjun and Yeonha,” he chuckles, “they’re four but turning five in a couple of months. They’re a handful,” he jokes around, “but we wouldn’t have it any other way,” he says, referring to him and the rest of his family.
“And they’re your only siblings?”
He nods, shrugging while answering, “Yeah, but I always wanted siblings growing up and so to not only get one but two at the same time was pretty cool,” he glances at you, “what about you?”
You nod your head no, “My mom told me that once she had me and dealt with all the sleepless nights due to me crying all the time, that she knew one was enough,” you manage to joke around, the atmosphere in the car now becoming less tense.
“I think my parents thought the same way, but surprises happen,” he laughs, “I mean it’s probably a good thing that I was pretty old when they were born. It meant an extra set of hands to help around the house especially considering my dad’s always working.”
And at the mention of his father you couldn’t help but grow a little curious. He was the only person you hadn’t been introduced to and despite Jin’s mother being an overall gorgeous woman, you assumed that Jin must’ve gotten his most prominent features from his dad as his mother didn’t really resemble him.
“What does he work in?” you continue the flow of the conversation.
“He’s a finance manager for one of the many corporation companies you’ll find around here,” and to that he frowns, “I’m assuming your dad must work in a similar field.”
You look at the window again, “Yeah,” you sigh, “so I guess a lot of people around here work in the business field.”
“I think that’s what causes this place to be a little boring sometimes,” he comments, focusing on the road in front of him, “The lack of creativity,” and by looking at the buildings and overall aura of the town, you understand what he means, “People here already have expectations set on them, and with the pressure of being successful, no one ever really takes the risk of pursuing what they’re really passionate about.”
“Hm,” you hum, unsure of what to add to that, for Jin had hit the nail on its head.
“Butttttt,” he sings, “when you meet people like me you’ll realize not everyone around here is the same,” and with that he piques your curiosity, the car suddenly coming to a halt.
Looking out the window, you notice you’re in front of an old school diner, it’s neon lights currently turned off because of the daylight. Not that it really mattered, as the bright cherry red and blue color painted walls were definitely enough to grab anyone’s attention.
Through the see through glass you notice a group of guys sitting at one of the booths, staring at the two of you as you both exited the car. A mixture of both excitement (which you assumed was directed at Jin) and confusion (which was probably directed on you) on their faces.
“Come on, follow me,” Jin says, leading you inside to the group of boys who looked around your age.
They’re quick to greet Jin, practically shouting his name across the diner. It must’ve been a regular occurrence because none of the waiters even turned to focus their attention on them, “Somehow I knew you guys would be here,” Jin teases.
One of the boys rolls their eyes, “So are you going to introduce us to your new lady friend?” he smiles, and immediately the spotlight is set on you, both you and Jin standing in front of their booth.
“Y/N this is Yoongi,” Jin points at the boy who asked the daring question, “This is Taehyung,” he points at the boy next to him, “and finally this is Namjoon,” he points at the final boy across from them, “You guys this is y/n. She just moved here from Busan.”
“Ahh Busan!” the black haired boy, Taehyung, says excitedly, “I once had a pen pal from there,” he trivially says causing the other boys to laugh.
“Ahh Taehyung and his pen pals,” Yoongi shakes his head, tapping the boys shoulders, “And how did that one out of the many turn out?” he asks in a joking manner, only causing Taehyung to pout, knowing Yoongi was teasing him.
“Hmm,” he groaned, “It’s only been a couple of months without a reply, that doesn’t mean we’re not friends anymore!”
“Yeah Yeah Yeah,” Yoongi rolls his eyes again, scooting to the side to make space for you, “Well don’t just stand there, sit,” he lightly teases, and you glance at Jin as if to confirm if it was okay to do so. He smiles at your shyness, confident that you’d get along with his friends just fine, it’d just take some warming up on your part until then.
Setting his camcorder down on the table, he takes a seat next to Namjoon while you take yours next to Yoongi and Taehyung.
“So y/n,” Namjoon speaks up, “how are you liking it here so far?” But before you can think of a response, Jin answers for you.
“She literally just moved here,” he glances at the clock on the wall, “like an hour ago,” he laughs, “I don’t even think she’s unpacked her stuff.”
“Well don’t expect too much,” Yoongi says, contradicting what Jin had told you earlier, “this place is a snooze fest!” he dramatically adds, only causing Jin to nudge him with his leg from under the table, “Hey it's true, if it weren’t for you guys I’d be dying of boredom all the time.”
“Which is exactly why we need to show y/n the best spots in town to visit and how to have some fun,” Jin declares and to that, the boys shrug, not minding the new addition to their group.
“Well wasn’t that easy,” you think to yourself, it seemed making friends wasn’t as hard as you thought it would be.
“As long as you’re not some kind of party pooper then—”
“Like there's parties in town to even poop at,” Taehyung interrupts causing Yoongi to look at him with a “Huh?” expression making everyone including yourself laugh out loud.
“You do realize it’s not literal—” but before he could continue, Yoongi raises his hand to cover his face, “You and that camera Jin,” and immediately you follow suit, having failed to notice that Jin had turned on his camcorder. Taehyung instead of covering his face, poses by flashing two peace signs, while Namjoon flashed his dimpled smile once the camera was pointed to him.
“Ahh why do you feel the need to record everything?” Yoongi asks, still covering his face.
“You’ll thank me later,” Jin says, “Come on y/n say hiiii,” he begins to near the camera to your face.
“Does he always do this?” you ask his friends around him, and to that they nod.
“He says it’s his practice for becoming a director in the future, but….” Namjoon playfully scoffs, “I don’t see the point in recording absolutely everything.”
“Because I want to make sure when I find the project I want to create, I’ll have all the film I need.” Slowly you take your hands off your face once you notice he wasn’t going to relent anytime soon, “Come on, you know you wanna smileeee,” he sings, and slowly but surely you smile indeed. An awkward one, but a smile nonetheless.
“Well cheers to a new friendship,” Taehyung flashes you his signature boxy smile, raising his milkshake drink in the air, Namjoon and Yoongi imitating the action. You and Seokjin on the other hand create an imaginary motion as if you had drink in your hands, grateful for the blossoming friendship in the making.
“After that first day in Gwacheon, Seokjin along with his friends showed me the best spots in town, whether it was somewhere to eat or somewhere to simply get a good view, they were showing me things that proved the boring town to be different than what it seemed.
Seokjin would especially be eager to show me his favorite spots, always recording my reactions to first time meals or whenever he’d show me a new location. When I’d ask him why, he’d tell me it was because it was like watching a kid eat candy for the first time.
Soon I’d find myself hanging out with him the most, I’m not sure if it was because we were next door neighbors or maybe it was because he was my first friend here, but it wasn’t like I was complaining. It seemed as if with every time we hung out, I was learning something new about him, never a day too dull…”
“You’re not even blowing into it,” Jin complains, watching as you blew air into the Mario game cartridge, your face getting red at your serious effort, “Let me see,” he says, but to that you stubbornly refuse, continuing to blow heavy puffs of air into it.
For the past hour the two of you had been playing his new Mario game on the Nintendo SNES, but out of nowhere the game completely blacked out.
Suspecting that there must have been built-up dust in the cartridge, you took it as your responsibility to blow air into it.
“Fine,” you hiss, passing him the game.
“Ah don’t be like that either,” he teases, squeezing your cheek with his hand.
“Hey!” you cry out and he raises his hands to his defense.
“Sorry I can’t help it,” he laughs, “they’re just so…” he pauses, “squeezable?”
You flip him off, only making him laugh even more, “Just fix the game already,” you mumble, not actually offended, but pretending to be which he of course was used to by now.
Knock. Knock.
“Seokjinnieeee!” the sound of his younger sister’s voice, Yeonha, fills the room. Immediately she goes to tackle him, and Jin (pretending that she was stronger than him) playfully throws himself on the floor only causing her to go into a fit of giggles.
Then out of nowhere you feel tiny arms wrap themselves around your shoulders, “Y/Nieeee,” Minjun blitzes you from behind, a grin now appearing on your face.
With his arms still wrapped around your shoulders, you get up from the floor and begin to run around the room, pretending to be an airplane soaring across the sky.
“Do that too! Do that too!” Yeonha commands Seokjin, forcibly wrapping her arms around his very broad shoulders.
And soon the two of you find yourselves going at “war” with one other, purposely missing each other whenever it’d look like you two would crash as a scare effect for the kids.
By the time you two were all done, you were out of breath and completely exhausted. “Again, again, again!” you hear the two kids squeal, but you were just way too tired to go at it a second time.
Feigning a sad expression on your face, you say, “I’m sorry, I have to be back for dinner soon at my house, but next time I see you I promise you we’ll do that again for you guys.”
Both of the kids, with a saddened expression on their faces, simultaneously go “Aww.” but completely understand, knowing you were never one to falsify your promises.
“Wait you do?” Seokjin asks, completely believing your lie. Glaring at him, you wink at him in a knowing way, and though it takes him a while, he quietly says “Ohh.” once he understands. Scratching the back of his neck, he says, “How bout I walk you out haha,” he innocently smiles with his eyes closed.
“Byeeee Y/N,” the kids say, their attention already on something else.
Waving goodbye, you and Jin make your way downstairs, greeted by his mom, who had used to the time that you two spent playing with kids to make dinner,
“Already leaving Y/N?” she asks when she spots your backpack in your hand, “I made japchae, I’m sure your mom wouldn’t mind you staying for dinner,” she kindly suggests, but you politely nod your head no.
“It’s fine Mrs. Kim,” you say, “I don’t want to lessen the servings any more than I should.”
“You sure I can always—” she’s about to say something until she meets Jin’s expression, which was one of panic. Subtly he was nodding his head in a way to say that she should drop it, not only his ears, but his face becoming red. Softly chuckling to herself, she drops the subject, “Ahh well have a good night y/n.”
“Goodnight Mrs. Kim,” you dismiss yourself, Jin following right behind you as you make your way out the door.
“Whew I sure am tired,” you say once you hear the door behind you close, now standing on his front porch, the sun beginning to set, “We didn’t even get to work on our calculus homework,” you mention, feigning a chuckle.
Jin shrugs, “I doubt we were gonna work on it either way,” he laughs changing the topic, “So y/n um…” he pauses, feeling a lump in his throat form as he nervously rocked back and forth, “I’ve been wanting to ask you something I just don’t know how you’ll react…”
You look at him with a genuine clueless expression on your face. Moments of silence pass before you respond, “Well go on ahead,” you laugh, “you know you can tell me anything,” you smile at him.
And for a moment it feels as if the words can’t come out, the fear of being denied overwhelming the feeling of hope, “Um well…” he gulps, “you know it’s been a couple of months since you moved here and well…” he avoids eye contact with you, “I feel like I see you all the time…” he continues, and for a small second you become scared … Did you do something? Did he no longer ever wanna see you again? With that thought, you feel your stomach drop, “And well I wanted to tell you that I—”
“Oh y/n honey, you forgot your notebook!” Jin’s mom suddenly opens the door, interrupting the moment and catching the both of you by surprise.
Jin immediately shoots his mom a “What are you doing?” look, but it seems like she didn’t catch onto it as she continued having a huge smile on her face. Oh what a kind … oblivious … woman she could be sometimes.
“O-oh,” you stutter, still in a state of surprise at her sudden intrusion, “Um thank you Mrs. Kim, um I should get going!” you awkwardly laugh, “Um I’ll see you at school tomorrow Jin!” you wave goodbye, practically running back to your house. The last thing you hear before closing your own door was the sound of Jin groaning, “Moooom!”
“Ah y/n you made it just in time for dinner,” your own mother greets you, “For a moment I thought you’d spend dinner with the Kims’ for another night,” she teases, causing a ferocious blush to appear on your cheeks.
“What makes you say that?” you mumble while avoiding eye contact, only causing her to send you a knowing look.
Deciding she’d play along with your oblivious act this once, she shrugs, “Hmm I don’t know, maybe because there’s a special someone you like in that house of theirs.”
Your blush deepens.
“Not true,” is all you can muster, “We’re just close friends, that’s all,” you state, but deep down you knew you could only wish for more.
“Mmm well y/n, time is ticking,” she playfully sings, “if you don’t confess soon, who knows when you’ll get the chance once you’re off at college. Just ask your dad, he had to wait 4 years until I came back to our hometown to confess. Isn’t that right y/f/n?” she turns to your dad, who was currently watching Cheers on the television.
Getting up from the couch, he makes his way over to you two, “What’s this about a boy I’m hearing?” he turns on his “Protective Dad” persona.
To that, you roll your eyes, “Dad,” you laugh as he ruffles your hair, placing a kiss to your forehead, “I need to go do my homework,” you announce, needing an excuse to get to your room and out of this conversation.
Your mom narrows her eyes at you, knowing exactly what you were doing but choosing to act dumb about it, “Then what are you doing here young lady, go get to it!” she commands, watching you immediately turn and make your way up the stairs.
“Ah kids these days,” your mom says under her breath, shaking her head in amusement, silently rooting for the two of you.
“I wouldn’t find out that Jin was trying to confess to me that night until a couple of years later in some random conversation, and when I tell you there were several other attempts on both his part and mine to confess, I really mean it. But it was almost as if the universe was waiting for the right moment to let it happen. I just never would’ve thought that the moment would be one so …. unexpected ….”
“So how is he?” you ask Jin’s mother, placing the care basket you made for Jin on his dining table.
“Well you know it is,” she laughs, “no parent really wants to see their kid high off of anesthesia, especially because he’s just been talking complete nonsense for the past hour and refusing to take a nap. But I prefer this than having him walk around with his wisdom teeth aching him.”
You nod your head in understanding, “You don’t mind if I—” and she nods her head yes, understanding what you were insinuating.
“Go for it,” she smiles, “he’ll probably scold me tomorrow for allowing you to see him in that state, but I’m sure he’ll get over it,” she chuckles.
And without a moment of hesitation, you make your way up the stairs and into his room, the first thing you hear is your name being loudly shouted.
“Y/N!” he slurs out your name, his high pitched laughter following right after.
A grin immediately appears on your face as you watch the boy who even though was usually in a joking mood most of the time, now had that same mood heightened because of the anesthesia.
You take a seat on the corner of his bed, “How are you feeling Jin?” you ask, genuinely wanting an answer.
He shoots you a toothy grin and gives you not one, but two thumbs up, “I’m feeling amaaaazinnggg,” he sings, “especially now that you’re here,” he dramatically winks.
You feel your face redden, “This is the effects of the anesthesia,” you tell yourself, not allowing yourself to have false hope.
“Y/N Y/N Y/N,” he hums, “you’re so prettyyyyyy,” he stammers his words, his swollen cheeks making it hard to take him seriously.
“Really? You think?” you go along with him, to which he nods.
“Veryyyyy,” he adds, “too bad I can’t completely see you!” he exclaims, only causing your brow to quirk in confusion.
“What do you mean?”
“I can’t see you!” he repeats in a sardonic tone, almost as if you were dumb for not understanding. It isn’t until you notice that the bangs of his mullet, which was usually parted, were now prickling at his eyes, probably causing his view of you to be blocked by certain strands of hair.
Laughing to yourself, you grab one of the hairpins you had on and scoot closer to him, carefully clipping his bangs to the side, “Ta da,” you giggle at Jin’s childlike expression, “Now you can see me,” you say.
“Now I can see you,” he repeats in awe, and maybe it was because of the effects of the anesthesia but for some reason you looked much more ethereal than usual. Suddenly, out of nowhere Jin grabs his camera from the bed stand, and you look at him in amazement.
You let out a breath of disbelief, “How is it that even when you’re high off of anesthesia, you still somehow manage to pull out that camera of yours?” you ask him.
“Because y/n, 50 years from now the world needs to know how pretty you areeeee,” he looks at you like a lovestruck fool, his eyes halfway closed as he points the lens in your direction.
“Who would’ve thought that Jin could be such a flirt?” you think to yourself.
“I’m not!” Jin pouts, and it’s only then that you realize you must’ve said the thought out loud, “I’m only flirty with you because I like youuuuu,” he gushes.
“Jin you don’t know what you’re saying,” you blink slowly, not sure whether to believe the words coming out of his mouth.
“Oh but I do!” he barks back like a toddler, “I’ve been trying to confess to you for sooooooo long but I get interrupted EACH. AND. EVERY. TIME,” he complains, and suddenly you feel your heart pound ten times faster, an idiotic smile now forming on your face, “like seriously, every time I get the courage to finally fess up, something just has to happen,” he rambles on, now turning off the camera, something you take note of.
Affectionately, you play with some of the strands of his hair from the back, watching him yawn in the process, “Come on silly boy, I think it’s time for you to sleep,” and surely he does in no time, his soft snores filling the room.
It’s only then that you grab a post-it note from his desk, scribbling something you were sure he’d read the next day. Happily making your way downstairs, excited for what was to come.
That same night when Jin groggily woke up from his nap, he was confused as to why he had a glitter hair pin in his hair, and why his camera had a post-it note attached to it on his wooden desk. Grabbing the camera, he immediately recognized the handwriting.
‘check your footage from yesterday, you can thank me later xx. y/n.’
And it was once he did that he could’ve swore he felt his eyes go as wide as saucers, his mouth gaping completely open. “I-I confessed,” he says to himself, unsure of whether he really believed it or not, “I confessed!” he repeats to himself, this time much more confident and enthusiastic about it.
Deciding he had no time to waste, he quickly ran down his stairs, his mom confusingly staring at him as he began to grab his jacket and shoes, “And where do you think you’re going?” she asks.
“Mom, I confessed!” he excitedly shouts before slamming the door behind him shut, ready to knock on your door.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
“Oh Jin!” your mother greets him, amused by his swollen right cheek, “What a surprise,” she chuckles.
“Hello Mrs. Y/L/N,” he respectfully greets, “any chance y/n’s here?” he politely asks, hoping you were home.
Based on the excited look on Jin’s face she could only imagine that he had only good news to share, and so she didn’t hesitate to call you down, “Y/N!” she shouts, and as if you were waiting for it, your bedroom door opens without a second even passing.
Quickly you make your way down, your mom already having a sense as to what was going to happen by the excited expression on both of your faces. Closing the door once you made your way out, she immediately presses her ear against it.
“Y/N,” Jin breathes out, “I-I confe-OW,” he loudly groans, completely forgetting about his mouth still being sore from the procedure, only causing you to laugh. Even now the universe was finding ways to delay the inevitable.
“You confessed,” you instead say for him, and he nods excitedly, holding his mouth in pain. But it’s only then that he realizes … just because he confessed didn’t mean you automatically felt the same way.
His face reddens.
Ready to make a dash for it, you grab his hand before he could. A touching smile now on your face, “I like you too,” you say, squeezing his hand in reassurance. And immediately you see the relief wash over him, his tense shoulders relaxing.
“I’d kiss you, but I don’t think I can move my lips,” he manages to mumble out, the sudden jolt of pain minutes earlier now making it hard for him to talk.
You giggle at this, then tippy toeing and placing a peck to his lips, deciding that it’d be enough to satisfy the two of you. And without notice your mom opens the door, making the two of you jump in surprise.
“Awwwww, finally!” she pretends to weep, and you’re quick to furrow your brows.
“Mom!”
“And so that was the exact moment our friendship had officially blossomed into something more… I had officially fallen in love with the boy next door. And so we spent the rest of the school year doing whatever it is high school couples do. The occasional hand holding here and there, the timid kisses, but most importantly… despite there now being a shift in our relationship, we still spoke to one another like the best of friends we were before. Because at the end of the day he was still just the boy next door.
But of course soon we’d find ourselves having to confront the looming topic over our heads … college.”
Knock. Knock. Knock.
The door opens.
“It arrived,” you frantically say to the boy in front of you, an envelope in your hand. He motions for you to come in, his heart now beating as fast as yours.
Sitting down on the dining chair, you watch as he runs up the stairs to his room in order to grab the envelope that had arrived at his house a day prior to yours.
The sealed envelopes, which read ‘Seoul National University” in a big blue font along with its famous logo stamped onto it were now being held by your guys’ jittery fingers.
“When are they getting here?” you ask Jin, who had just seated himself.
Glancing at his watch, he answers, “Any second now,” his foot bounces up and down out of nervousness, “I told them to be here an hour earlier than planned because I knew they’d get here late,” he says, patting himself in the back for his trick.
“Well they need to get here faster,” you complain, tapping your nails against the table.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
“Finally,” you groan, watching the rest of your friends walk into Jin’s kitchen.
“Sorry we caught traffic,” Taehyung lies, munching on his last fry.
You roll your eyes at the poor attempt, ”You’re such a bad liar,” you say, deciding not to press him any further on the issue. “Let’s just get to opening these things.”
The boys nod, taking a final deep breath in, ready to rip open the envelopes.
“Wait,” Jin suddenly demands, “Let me set the camera,” and immediately he’s met with dramatic eye rolls and groans, but you guys allow him to do so nonetheless. “Okay you guys, remember whatever the results are behind these, we all have to promise ourselves that it won’t change anything. It doesn’t make anyone better than the rest, and we’ll all certainly still be friends in college,” he says and you all nod in agreement, for a moment forgetting that whatever the results were inside your envelopes, you’d all still remain friends no matter what.
“Okay, 1..2...3,” you count down, and at the same time you all pull out your decision letters.
“I got in!” Namjoon yells excitedly.
“Me too!” Taehyung says after him, a grin on his face.
“Holy shit, me too,” Yoongi repeats after him.
“Me as well,” Seokjin says nonchalantly, not exactly caring for his acceptance but more about yours as he immediately turns his attention towards you.
Having watched you stay up late studying for the entrance exams for the past couple of weeks, he knew just how nervous you were about these letters and as both your boyfriend and your friend, he couldn’t help but root for you much more than himself.
But it’s once he sees the saddened expression on your face that he knows …
“Y/N…” Taehyung whispers in sadness.
“I—” you slouch your shoulders, looking away from their gazes, “I didn’t get in,” you murmur, your voice signaling that you were on the verge of crying.
Jin is quick to turn off the camera and goes to wrap his arms around you, placing a soft kiss on top of your head and softly rubbing your back in an effort to comfort you. He sends a look to the boys as if to say he thinks it’d be best for them to leave, for now at least.
They nod in understanding, beginning to make their way out until they hear you say “Wait!” and at an attempt to ease the tension, you try and hide the sadness in your voice, “Congratulations, truly,” you send them a weak smile before they leave, and they send you a small smile in return, sad that their friend didn’t get into the college of their dreams.
“Hey don’t cry,” Jin comforts you, giving you more pecks on top of your head, feeling his heart swell more and more by the second.
“I thought I worked so hard,” you sniffle, the tears slowly falling down your cheeks.
“Hey don’t say that! You did work hard princess,” he scolds you, pulling you into a tight hug and tipping your chin up so that he could look at you properly, a soft look on his face while he brushed your hair away from your face, “That stupid school doesn’t know what they’re missing out on, you hear me?” He squeezes your cheek when you don’t reply, “Heyyyyyyyy, don’t ignore meeee,” he teases, placing a soft kiss on your lips.
All you can do is roll your eyes once you feel your cheeks get hot, damn him and his everlasting effect on you. “My dad’s going to be so disappointed,” you mumble, already dreading the conversation. The sole reason you even wanted to get into that school was to impress him, to make him feel that he didn’t have to worry about your future.
“No he’s not,” Jin states in confidence, and you look at him in curiosity, “because your dad is nothing like mine,” he jokes, reassuring you, “Because I’m sure that for both your mom and dad, as long as you’re happy and pursuing whatever it is you want to, they’ll be more than happy to support you along the way.”
“You think so?” you ask him, a small pout on your lips.
“Ah I know so princess,” he gives you a small comforting smile, “Come on let’s watch a movie and eat some popcorn before you go home. I just bought Goodfellas on VHS the other day,” he says, leading you to the living room, the heavy feeling that had been weighing down your chest, not so heavy anymore.
“And so that night I told my parents the decision SNU had made, and just like Jin said they were completely supportive, not even the slightest disappointed. Luckily, the college that did accept me was not at all far away from Seoul National University meaning Jin and I did not have to worry about a ‘long distance relationship’ because trust me, a long distance relationship in the 90s was even ten times more harder to manage than how you kids have it today with your phones.
Honestly, our first year in college passed by in the blink of an eye. I’m not sure if it's because I was always with Jin and our group of friends running around in a big old city with so many more different things to explore, but by the time we reached our second year, we were beginning to ask ourselves where time was going by…. “
“Cheers to our first year!” you and the boys lift up your drinks of Soju, clinking the bottles as a way of commemorating your first successful year in college.
Laughter fills the air while you all talk about the good and the bad of college, from the nightmare drunk stories to typing last minute essays on a jammed computer inside the library. “To think we were all panicking about how we’d do,” Yoongi says, shaking his head.
“I know, but now we have to start declaring our majors soon,” Taehyung mentions, “I still don’t know whether I want to major in sociology or psychology…”
“Me neither, I’ve been leaning towards linguistics,” Namjoon adds, “What about you y/n?” he asks you.
You think about it for a moment before answering, “Engineering Physics.”
“Woah,” Namjoon looks at you in shock, “Good luck to you,” he jokingly scoffs.
You shrug, a certain glimmer appearing in your eyes as you make eye contact with him, “Don’t you find it interesting? The possibilities of there being more than one universe out there, different dimensions, hell maybe even a parallel universe!” you say in excitement, clearly passionate about the field, “Namjoon there’s probably hundreds of you who like to pick their nose just like you!” you throw in the playful jab, making him flip you off while the rest of the boys laugh their asses off.
“What about you Jin?” Yoongi asks his longtime friend, who for some reason tonight was quieter than usual, something clearly on his mind.
And as if brought back to reality he looks at all you with a surprised expression, “O-oh,” he stutters, “um Business Administration?” he says, unconvinced of his own answer.
Yoongi nods his head, “As expected, as expected. Business does run in the family,” and though you know Yoongi meant no harm in the comment, you couldn’t help but notice how tense Jin got after hearing it, as if it only further killed his mood.
“Hey,” you softly whisper into his ear, grabbing his attention while Yoongi begins to talk about something else, “everything good?”
Immediately his expression softens, and he quietly nods yes, not wanting you to worry. But no matter how well Jin thought he was at hiding emotions like sadness or anger from you, any change in his behavior, albeit small or large, was always obvious to you.
Making a mental note to talk to him later, you subtly keep an eye on him for the rest of night, your mind wondering what it could be.
Jin plays with your loose strands of hair while he watches you soundly sleep, your skin warm and slick with the efforts of your earlier endeavors.
It hadn’t been long since he moved into this apartment with Namjoon, and though you weren’t exactly officially living with them, with the number of mornings he’d wake up to having you beside him, he and Namjoon might as well have considered you their third roommate.
Not like Joon was complaining, the breakfasts he’d wake up to you making completely cancelling out the occasional use of his ear plugs for nights like these…..
Trailing his fingers across your shoulders, he traces the curves of your collarbones, savoring the moment. It wasn’t until he suddenly heard you speak that he realized you weren’t asleep at all, “Can’t sleep?” you ask, opening your eyes.
“Y/N, go to sleep, it’s late,” he mumbles in the darkness.
Ignoring him, you move to make yourself more comfortable, “Something’s bothering you,” you simply state, and that he can’t deny.
“Y/N... “ he’s about to begin, but you weren’t having any of it.
“Seokjin,” you say his full name, something you’d rarely done since you met him, “you know you can tell me,” you reassure, squeezing his hand, “it’s my job to listen,” you add for extra comfort.
And for a moment he looks as if he’s contemplating something, not really accustomed to being the one talking.
Especially because if you were to ask anyone who’s ever known Jin, then they’d tell you they’d almost never seen the man in a bad nor sad mood.
Because for the sake of others, Jin had always been the one to remain cheerful when things were bad, the one to crack jokes even whenever he felt down, the one who liked imitating Mariah Carey’s whistle notes in the car while driving, the person everyone could always rely on whether it be for laughs, advice, or just anything.
It was just who Jin was as a person.
He sighs once he’s made his decision to tell you, “You know how we were talking about declaring majors and stuff tonight?”
Silently, you nod your head, and he sighs again, “Well I was thinking about something the other day…” he pauses, shifting his body to the side, leaning his head against his hand and now completely facing you, “Remember that first conversation we had in my mom’s car the day you moved into town, when I was taking you to diner?” He asks the rhetorical question, continuing with his thoughts, “How I said that people usually have expectations already set on them and with the pressure of being successful, no one ever truly takes the risk of pursuing what they’re passionate about?”
You nod again, wondering where this was going.
“It wasn’t until earlier this month when I revisited that conversation in the midst of everyone talking about declaring majors and their future careers that I realized that really I was just talking about myself,” he sighs, and suddenly everything becomes clearer to you, and a look of understanding becomes apparent on your face.
He gulps before continuing, “For so long I’ve been so scared to seriously pursue directing and the world of entertainment all because of my fear of disappointing my dad because Yoongi’s right … business does run in my family and I don’t know if it’s cause I’m the oldest but there’s always been an expectation set on me. An expectation to be the best. An expectation to be successful.”
Slowly, you begin to run your hands through his hair, allowing him to talk as much as he wanted because you knew this was one of the very rare moments that he was going voice everything he had been thinking for so long.
“And so when I hear people like you or Taehyung or even just classmates talk so passionately about what they wanna do in the future I can’t help but wish I had that same courage to to pursue what I want. I mean hell, look at Yoongi pursuing a career in music and producing. I like business, I do, but it’s just not for me, and now just like how you and the rest of the boys are pursuing your dreams, I wanna pursue mine, no matter what it takes. For the first time in my life I want to be 100% selfish, I want to choose me.”
He remains silent after finishing his little speech, a signal that he now wanted your input. He needed to hear something, anything, for he was tired of bearing the weight of his worries by himself.
Gathering your thoughts, you give him a kiss to the lips before continuing, your heart swelling for the man in front of you, “Jin if you want to pursue your dreams then do it,” you grab his hand and kiss his knuckle, “Because I’m just as sure you’ll be successful in the future, plus it’s better to live a life without regrets than with…” you pause, “But I also don’t think it’d be right if I wasn’t rational with you. You’re gonna have to tell your parents, and it’s also important to know that like any other career there is a risk of not making it because at the end of the day that’s how life works and sometimes things are just out of our control… but the real question is if you’re willing to accept it if it happens…”
Jin breaks away his eye contact with you, your words sadly ringing true, “Hey,” you turn his head with your hand in order to have him face you again, now resting your hand on his cheek, “Everything will be okay,” you reassure, “I’ll be with you every step of the way,” you kiss his other cheek.
To that, he smiles.
“Tomorrow,” he randomly says, only causing you to be confused until he continues, “Tomorrow I’m going home and telling my parents what I wanna do. And you’re coming with me… for moral support that is,” he shoots you a grin, and for a moment your eyes are wide in surprise because well… you certainly weren’t expecting him to do it so soon, “Please?” he pouts, making you roll your eyes playfully.
“Like you have to ask,” you say, tightly wrapping your arms around his broad shoulders and burying your face in the crook of his neck, a good night’s sleep following soon after.
“If only we had known things weren’t going to go down as smoothly as we thought it was…”
“Dad you don’t get it…” Jin pushes his hair back with his hand, a sign that he was stressed.
His dad scoffs, “What’s there not to get? You’re choosing something that’s a complete risk over something that has a future, a guaranteed solid one at that. Let’s be feasible here Seokjin...”
Silently you watch the exchange between father and son. Yeah, the two of you knew that there’d be some backlash to Jin’s decision from his parents (if not only his father) but to be here for over 3 hours now, watching the two go back and forth wasn’t what anyone had expected. Neither side relenting on why the other was wrong. But time was ticking, and soon one would pop, you just hadn’t expected it to be Jin first.
“I just can’t dad!” he shouts, interrupting his dad, his voice echoing across the walls. Momentary silence followed, enough to hear a pin drop fall, “I-I just can’t,” Jin’s voice breaks, his eyes desperately pleading for his dad to just once in his life understand.
A scornful laugh comes out of his dad’s mouth before he exhales a big deep breath, “Okay,” he monotonously states, and for a moment a flicker of hope appears in both Jin’s and your eyes, but as fast as it came, it left even quicker, “You can pursue your little venture into the world or entertainment and directing, but just know I never agreed to paying for a degree in Film, I agreed to one in Business. And so if you really want it that bad, it’s coming out of your pocket,”he declares, shocking everyone in the room.
“Sungjin,” Jin’s mother, who had only watched the exchange like you the whole time, finally speaks up, in just as much as shock as you and Jin. Paying for college out of his pocket? That was almost impossible.
Jin’s father raises his hand, as if to let him continue, “Be grateful I’m still agreeing to pay for that apartment of yours, I’m not cruel enough to let my own son jump from place to place.”
Jin shakes his head, “No,” he says, and you look at him confused, “I’ll pay for my own apartment as well as everything else you help pay for,” with a hardened scowl now on his face he continues, “and I’ll prove you wrong,” he declares.
His father could only look at him with skepticism until his own expression followed his son’s. The two really were two sides of the same coin.
“Come on y/n let’s go,” he scoffs, getting up from his chair and going to kiss his mom on the cheek, you politely (but also awkwardly) dismiss yourself, following him outside and into his car.
“Why the hell did you do that?” you finally ask, one of the many questions you had running in your head, “and how the hell do you plan on paying for everything out of your own pocket?”
“Because y/n,” he runs his hand through his hair, turning on the car in order to let the ignition warm up, “I want to prove him wrong,” he repeats his reasoning from earlier, shrugging his shoulders in the process, “I’ll just pick up extra hours at work, holiday season is starting soon and my manager being the lazy man he is would rather overwork an employee aka me than hire someone new.”
You pout, “Does that mean no more movie nights?” you whine, making him laugh.
“We’ll still have them princess,” he gives you a peck on the cheek, “Just not as frequent that’s all,” he then follows the kiss with a squeeze on the cheek, “meaning we have to savor them more,” he concludes, the two of you well on your way home, a happy couple once in love.
“This …. This is where our story slowly begins to take a bit of shift. It’s where the bright flowers we once held onto so tightly begin to slowly wilt when faced with the real world, where destiny and fate cross roads, creating and molding choices both within and out of our control…”
“Place your tassels to the left...” the students in the arena follow the command. “and congratulations to the new class of 1996!” the chancellor of SNU announces, and soon the sight of graduation caps being thrown left and right follows.
You feel your throat go sore from the amount of cheering you’re doing on the stands, watching as Jin and your group of friends hug in celebration, following with excited waves directed towards you and Jin’s mother along with his siblings.
Jin’s father, who claimed he was too busy with work, wasn’t able to make it, not that it was much of a surprise to anyone. Ever since Jin declared his financial independence from his dad, their relationship wasn’t exactly a favorable one, not that there was ever much to work with.
But in the end Jin understood his father and he understood why he couldn’t be supportive because like any other parent all Jin’s father wanted was to ensure Jin lived a successful life where he wouldn’t have to worry about finances and whether there’d be food on the table albeit it be for only himself or his future family.
The class song, “Fantasy” by Mariah Carey begins to play, and you feel your stomach cramp at laughing so hard because of Jin’s sudden dancing, the boys soon following his movements. You really had to take him to a Mariah Carey concert soon.
“Let’s go meet them in the parking lot,” Jin’s mother shouts over the chaos of people leaving the bleacher stands.
You nod, following her lead, all while helping Minjun and Yeonha (who were now 10) not get lost in the crowd. Once you make it to the parking lot, you find Jin, who had made it there before you all, and immediately you run to hug him, his siblings following suit.
His mom who's holding his famous old camcorder, records the moment, but once Jin spots it, he’s quick to cover his face by nuzzling his head into the crook of your neck. “How is it that the person always recording things, hates being recorded?” you chuckle, trying to push him off so that he’d have no choice but to be recorded.
“Mm don’t forget being pictured,” he mumbles, maneuvering you in a way that he could reach the camera in his mom’s hands, tackle her into a big hug and successfully get her to turn off the camera.
“Congratulations my Seokjin,” his mom kisses his cheek, ruffling his hair like she did when he was a kid.
Jin, who ditched the mullet about two years ago, now sported a more clean cut look, resembling a comma in the front while still a little lengthy from the sides. In a way it made him look a bit more youthful, not that he had to worry, for that man truly did not age. You were sure that even now at 21 years of age, Jin was going to look like this for the rest of his life because 4 years ago at age of 17 he looked exactly the same. You could only hope your own genes did the same.
“Thanks mom,” he smiled.
“Now for a picture,” she said while pulling out a Kodak disposable camera from her purse, but before she could even attempt at taking a picture, Jin was already getting into his car.
“Ahh later mom, let’s just go eat for now,” he announces, “The graduation boy is really hungry,” he gives her the puppy dog eyes before entering the car.
She rolls her eyes, “Fine. We’ll meet you two over there,” she says, “Come on you two,” she motions to the two twins to follow her back to her car.
“I still can’t believe you wanna drive all the way out to that old diner in Gwacheon as a way of celebrating your graduation,” you say as Jin reverses out of his parking spot, one hand on the steering wheel while the rest of his body was turned to make sure that no cars were passing.
Once he was safely out of the parking lot, he then replies, “Because y/n, there’s nothing better than a nice BLT sandwich on a Saturday night, don’t you think?”
“They’re not even all that—” you’re about to lecture him until he interrupts.
“Ah Ah ah, I’m the graduation boy,” he pouts while driving, “We went all the way to Itaewon to try that Italian food you wanted so bad when it was your graduation day, and you didn’t hear me complain.”
You narrow your eyes at him, damn him …
“Mm,” you mumble.
“Oh I love this song!” Jin, with his right hand, turns up the volume to the radio, “Californiaaaa loveeee,” he repeats after the robot, the music now blasting in the background as he gets on the highway, now on your way back home.
“Passing” you the imaginary mic in his hand, he expects you to sing with him and for a moment you stare at him with a deadpan look until of course you smile at his foolishness, “California knows how to party,” you sing, passing him the “mic”.
“In the cityyyyy of LA,” he continues along, and it goes like this the whole car ride. The two of you going back and forth singing songs from famous artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, Radiohead, Nirvana, and of course Jin’s favorite, Miss Mariah Carey.
And just like that the day goes by in the blink of an eye, from eating at the diner with his mom and siblings, to visiting your parents until finally the two of you found yourselves sitting on your porch just like the good old days.
Resting your head against his shoulder, both of you stare at the sky above in silence, the stars out and shining bright tonight.
“We really graduated,” you say in disbelief, breaking the silence. Jin turns his attention to you, a small smile on his face.
“Crazy huh?” he interlocks his hand with yours, kissing the knuckles of it, “Time went by in the blink of an eye, and now we’re officially in the real world. Nothing but a tiny speck in such a large universe, almost like the stars,” he chuckles looking back up to the sky, and you gaze at him with a soft look in your eyes. If only he knew how much brighter he shined compared to them.
“Jin…” you randomly say, “I love you,” and though he’s heard it come out of your mouth many many times before tonight, each and every time he did hear it, his heart swelled the same as the first.
Unlocking his hand from yours, he instead wraps his arm across your shoulder, gently bringing you closer to him, enough that you could even hear the sound of his heart beating. Something that not even a video camera could capture. This was a memory you two would just have to remember on your own when you are both old and grey.
“I love you too princess,” he whispers, “I love you too,” he repeats to himself, “You know, I’ve been thinking these days about our future...” you look up at him from your position, childlike curiosity now shown across your face, “I feel like since we’ve always lived moment to moment since we’ve met, I’ve never really asked you…” he pauses debating whether to ask, “what kind of future do you want?”
Softly chucking, you shrug, “You really wanna hear it?” you ask, and he furrows his brows, almost offended you’d even ask, but rather than scold you he simply nods, “Hmm..” you think for a moment, “I picture us both having successful careers and living in the big city while we’re at our peak, getting married on a whim and occasionally traveling the world in search of an adventure,” you pause, “but when the time comes to finally relax, then I’d want to move back here, to where it’s calm and quiet, buy ourselves a house and maybe we’d even have a kid, just one though,” you emphasize.
He arches his brow, “Just one?” he asks.
You nod your head, “After babysitting your siblings, yes, just one,” you repeat with laughter and he himself can’t help but laugh, “I think a girl preferably, but I wouldn’t be mad at a boy, They would probably take after you in looks,” you add, nudging his shoulder.
He blushes for a moment, before faking smugness and winking at you.
You laugh at his confidence before continuing, “And we’d show them the different places this town has just like how you showed me, enough that they’d want to stay here when they’re older,” Jin notices how your eyes glisten as you talk of a time that felt so far away, “And we’d be a small little happy family, supporting whatever it is that their dream will be. And then we’d grow old and grey, maybe have a couple of grandkids running around, and we’d simply be proud of the life we’ve built together—”
And before you could continue on any further, the feeling of his soft lips placed against yours interrupts you, nothing but passion exchanged in the kiss. It isn’t until you’re both out of breath that you break away, Jin immediately framing his hands over your cheeks, “Promise me?” he asks, and you wrinkle in confusion, “Promise me you’ll live a life you’re proud of?”
“As long as you do the same,” you softly answer in return, and silently he nods, “then let’s do it.”
“If only I knew … If only he had been honest with me that night then maybe things could’ve been talked about right then and there before it got out of control…”
Jin crumples the rejection letter and throws it in the trash, frustrated by yet another rejection letter from a directing internship. Tonight he was visiting his parents for dinner while you were out of town on a trip to Busan with some college friends you’d met your freshman year. Taking the opportunity of being by himself in your guys’ apartment, he shredded the number of rejection letters he’d received from several programs in the past couple of months. Too ashamed to show you them.
Looking at himself in the mirror, he couldn’t but feel frustrated. It’d been a year since the two of you had graduated college, and while your career in engineering physics was going great, he couldn’t say the same about his career in directing. Of course when you’d ask how everything was going, he’d feign a smile and say he was still waiting to hear back, guilty that he was incapable of telling you the truth.
Fixing the yellow unbuttoned dress shirt he was wearing over his plain white t-shirt and striped vest, he combs a hand through his hair one last time before leaving, feeling as if his head was about to explode.
“I made Naengmyun, your favorite,” Jin’s mother sets the bowl of noodles down along with several other sides, making sure her oldest son was eating good tonight. She was also trying to mitigate the awkwardness that was in the air tonight, this being one of the very rare occasions Jin and his father spent time together. Over the last year, things still were still stiff between the two, Jin’s father still clearly not accepting of his career choice.
Jin, who didn’t have much of an appetite, stirred with his noodles, hoping his mother wouldn’t notice.
“So Seokjin…” his mothers begins once she seats herself, “how’s everything been going so far?” she asks, genuinely wanting to know what her son has been up to these days.
Jin, trying not to look too uninterested, gives a simple response, “Um it’s been going good,” he casually says.
She nods, “What about y/n?” she asks, always interested in hearing about you.
At this question, Jin seems to perk up more, this change in behavior not going unnoticed by someone else at the table, “Great,” he says, “she’s currently working at a paid internship for some technical writing company that specializes in space and astronomy,” he continues on, “she really seems to love it.”
A smile appears on his mother’s face, happy to know that you were doing great.
“But what about you?” the voice across the table suddenly asks, and Jin is met with the glare of his father, “you seem to have so much to say about y/n, but so little about yourself,” his dad comments, and Jin could physically feel his stomach drop, his words reminding him of what he just shredded at home not too long ago.
“What do you want me to say?” Jin asks, hiding his nervousness through a monotone voice.
His dad scoffs, “That you’re doing something with your life,” he says a little too harshly, “that you’re not living in the shadow of your girlfriend.”
“Sungj—”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Jin sneers in the same amount of attitude his dad had.
“Seokjin!” his mother shouts, “That’s your father you're speaking to,” she reminds him, believing that the practice of respect should still be something upheld no matter what, “Kids, go to your room,” she tells the twins, and without question they do.
Jin quickly calms himself down, just wanting to leave before this escalated any more, “It means that I told you that business was the way to go, but no you were so adamant on proving me wrong and pursuing your dreams that now you can’t even guarantee yourself an independent future!” his dad spat in return, his voice now raising with every sentence . The bottled feelings from years ago now spilling out... rapidly at that.
“Why is it that with you it’s always business, business, business?” Jin throws his hands in the air, “I mean really that’s all I’ve ever heard from you growing up! Jin you need to be like this, Jin you need to make sure you do this, Jin I need this from you,” he mocks his dad, “I mean really is that all you care about dad? Meeting your expectations? Following your footsteps?”
“I do it because you’re my son Seokjin! My son, who I thought I raised to think critically, to strive for success—”
“You think I’m not trying?” Seokjin shouts, his voice turning hoarse at the end, “You think I wanted to fail? To have to come to the realization that—” he stutters, “that shit’s not going how I planned it?” Jin’s mother feels her eyes brim with tears, “That while my long time girlfriend is on her way to becoming a star in her field that I’m stuck waiting tables with a useless degree in my pocket! Is that what you want me to say, dad? Is that it?”
He remains silent.
“You think I don’t know that I’ve made a mistake? That I don’t wake up with the dread of knowing that I’m not at all good for her? That while she could be with someone who makes just as much money as she does and actually provides for her, she decides to stick with me? The person who can hardly offer her anything?” rather than feeling a weight come off his shoulders, Jin feels an extra burden get added on, almost feeling suffocated.
“Well then I’m sorry dad! I’m sorry I couldn’t be the magnificent first born son you wanted!” by now tears are spilling out of Jin’s eyes in such a rapid pace that his vision blurs.
All his father can do is stare at him, unsure of what to say or do.
Growing up Jin’s father wasn’t much of an affectionate parent, that role being filled more by his mother than his dad. If anything his father usually kept more of a reserved and stoic personality, his love language shown by the long nights of work he puts in for his family at the office and the constant pushing for success. And so here in this moment, to have his oldest son who he’d push to his complete limit cry his heart out in front of him, probably in desperate need of a hug, Sungjin just couldn’t bring himself to comfort him.
And so instead he simply said, “Goodnight Seokjin,” in the softest voice possible, before making his way upstairs to his bedroom, leaving the words he so desperately wanted to say unsaid.
Jin feels the arms of his mother hug him, her eyes as teary stained as his, “Ah Seokjin,” her voice breaks as she attempts to comfort him.
“I—” Jin hesitates, “I need to go back home mom,” and gently he breaks away from the hug.
“Seokjin…” his mother worries, “Just stay here for the night, I’ll grab your old sheets from the closet and—”
“Mom,” he simply says, a way of finalizing his decision
Knowing she wasn’t going to be able to convince him, she squeezes his shoulder in an effort to comfort him, “Drive safe,” she says.
He nods, just wanting to go home and sleep the night away.
Unlocking the door to your guys’ apartment, Jin was surprised to see you in the kitchen making ramen, your packed bags laid across the couch.
Having heard the door open, you turn to face him, “Hey—” and almost immediately your expression goes from one of happiness to one of concern. Quickly you rush towards him, his puffy eyes telling you that he’d been crying, “Hey, what’s wrong?” you raise your hand to cup his cheek.
Jin simply stares at you with a saddened look, unsure of what to say. “Hey, I’ve realized tonight after an argument with my father that I’m a complete utter failure, and you have no chance at a happy future by being with me.” Is that what he should say? It was the truth, wasn’t it?
“It’s—” he pauses, “It’s nothing,” he lowers your hand from his face, taking off his shoes and setting his keys down.
“Seokjin—”
“Y/N, it’s nothing,” he repeats, his way of telling you that he was serious, “I’m going to bed,” he exhales a deep sigh, making his way towards the bedroom, leaving you standing in the living room by yourself, wondering what in the hell just happened?
The next morning, as per usual Jin awoke to an empty bed, your Monday’s usually having you go in very early in the morning.
Jin groaned as he got up, remembering that today was his day off. God, did he just wanna stay in bed all day, but remembering that the two of you were running low on groceries, he thought might as well make himself useful and do the buying for the week.
Looking at himself in the bathroom mirror, he noticed the strands of his hair he once kept short now getting longer, resembling the mullet he used to have when he was a teen. Not that he hated it or anything, but it was an odd sight to see, and so he grabbed his hair cutting scissors from the cabinet and began to unevenly chop the long strands of hair ultimately resulting in a chopped banged look. To make it look more natural, he ruffled his hair at the end, not bothering to style it.
After that he changed into casual clothing and made his way to the grocery store, relying on nothing but his pure memory for the things he needed to buy.
Humming while pushing the cart full of groceries back to his car, he stops when something catches his eye.
Across the street was the headquarters of one of the internships he had applied for. And maybe it was due to the argument he had with his dad the day before, or the fact that he’d been feeling like a complete utter failure recently, but getting into his car, Jin couldn’t bring himself to drive away and go back home. Instead he got out of the car and began to walk across the street, unsure of what it was he was planning to do.
Ding. Ding.
Jin rings the service bell, that impulsive courageous feeling he felt earlier suddenly abandoning him.
A man, who looked like he was near Jin’s age, walks out of the back office, a tag that read the name “Jungkook” pinned on the left side of his chest, “Hello, how can I help you?” he greets, a small smile on his face.
“Oh um—” Jin becomes flustered, but deciding that there was no backing down he continued on, “I sent in an application here a couple of months ago and I haven’t heard back from anyone, so I was just wondering—”
Jungkook’s face becomes one of nervousness, “Oh I’m sorry sir—” he tries to interrupt but Jin relents.
“If there’d been some kind of delay in the process, and well if there has been, if I could talk to someone because I really need—”
“Sir,” Jungkook repeats, this time halting Jin from continuing, “that position you’re talking about was filled months ago,” he practically whispers with a look of both awkwardness and pity on his face, “maybe your letter got lost in the mail, but there’s not really much you can do by coming in here.”
Jin, clearly in denial, nods his head no, “Please,” he pleads, “I just need to talk to someone for like ten minutes at most, I swear.”
“Sir—”
“Can’t you write down my number or something? Pass it on at least?!”
Jungkook can only stare at the frantic man, unsure of what to say or do, “I-” he stutters, “I can’t,” he ultimately says, not wanting to give this man false hope nor waste his time by writing his name and number down, “I’m gonna have to call security if you don’t leave,” he says, voice wobbling.
It’s only then that Jin realizes how crazy he must’ve looked. Not only was he in casual clothing, but his hair was all messy and he was sure his eyes must’ve been dilated in cause of his desperation.
“I’m-I’m sorry,” he whispers under his breath, hastily making his way out.
What was he thinking? Barging in and demanding things like that…. God he was losing it. Though he knew better than to let his dad’s words get to him, for some reason they were just eating at him.
“... it’s also important to know that like any other career there is a risk of not making it because at the end of the day that’s how life works and sometimes things are just out of our control… but the real question is if you’re willing to accept it if it happens…”
Your words from years ago ring in his head, and he shakes his head in denial. No he wasn’t … he wasn’t willing to accept it and he knew he’d only continue looking like a fool if he didn’t. But he just couldn’t. Because fully accepting it would mean he’d let you down. That the person you said you were sure was going to make it, was nothing but a failure.
And so he walks back to his car, dreadfully going back home, forgetting the words you spoke after.
That everything would be okay, and that you’d be with him every step of the way.
“Since the day Jin and I had met, we had never seriously fought over anything, yeah, we’d occasionally get into a petty quarrel, but never enough to really get us truly mad. Things like which character in a movie was morally correct, or who ate the leftovers from the night before were as heated as our arguments ever got, and even then we’d always forgive each other after a couple of hours of cooling off, but this time… this time it was different. This time it was serious.”
Opening the door, Jin sighed as set down the bagged groceries on the floor, mentally and physically exhausted from everything, personally declaring to himself that this week was just a really bad week for him.
Taking off his shoes, he began to make his way into the kitchen, deciding that maybe a cold cup of water would relax him.
But when he was met with you, sitting on the kitchen isle’s chair with several shredded pieces of paper on the surface of the isle in front of you, along with an unshredded one in your hand, he was sure he wanted to curl up in a ball and disappear.
The look on your face said everything, it was a mixture of betrayal, anger, and sadness all in one. The two of you stared at each other for the longest, words not having to be exchanged in order to understand what was going on, until finally you break the silence and it’s what you ask that Jin swore he felt his soul go cold, “W-Why?” is all you say, your voice weak and fragile.
He gulps down the lump in his throat, the words barely managing to come out of his mouth, “Because y/n I just—” he pauses, unsure of what to say, “I just couldn’t tell you,” he ultimately says, pushing his hair back with his hand.
“But why?” you repeat the same question from before, your voice now growing louder as you get up from the seat, “I just don’t understand,” you add because no, you weren’t angry, you weren’t sad … you were hurt. You were concerned. You were worried. For you had just found out that the man you loved more than anything went to this extent to hide something from you. To hide something so … trivial.
Tears well up in your eyes when you notice the glossiness in his own eyes, “You—” his voice cracks, “You wouldn’t get it,” he states, and this causes you to get defensive.
“I’m sure I would, if you’d just talk to me,” you barked back, coming closer to him, “Whatever it was, it should’ve never resorted to this!” you flail the paper in your hands around.
You don’t mean to yell, but you do. It was frustration that was coming out of your mouth, he had to understand that … right?
Sighing you continue, “Today at work I just couldn’t focus, not when I knew there was something seriously bothering you,” you explain how you’d come to find the paper along with the rest of it’s shredded companions, “So I asked if I could leave early, thinking that since you had the day off I could maybe possibly get whatever it was out of you. Of course seeing that you weren’t here, I did some snooping of my own and well…” you shake your head.
“You’ve been lying to me for months Seokjin…. each time I’d ask you if you’d heard anything you’d say no, knowing you had … and for what? Because you didn’t wanna show me that you got rejected?” you sigh in dismay because despite him not answering you, you knew exactly why he didn’t tell you anything, “I would’ve helped you, you know? We could’ve worked on your resume or make a better project to show, I could’ve helped,” you grab his hand, a way of wanting to show that even now you were still beside him, “Say something Jin,” your voice breaks.
“You don’t—” he looks down at you, “You don’t get it y/n,” he monotonously repeats, removing your hand from his and walking towards the bedroom, a tired expression on his face.
He could feel it… he could feel himself cracking. With every minute that continued to pass in this wretched day, the selfless Jin everyone knew and loved was reaching his breaking point and the last person he wanted to take it out on was you. But you just kept pushing.
“Seokjin!” you force him to turn around by pulling at his hand, “Just talk to me!” you demand.
“And say what!” he finally screams, “What do you want me to say y/n?!” he cries out, tears spewing out of his eyes, “That I completely failed at my dream? That my dad was right, and that film was nothing but a mistake? That I could be working at some fancy company that pays a decent salary rather than relying on tips from a hard day’s work? That when I look at myself in the mirror, I see nothing but a failure!”
“Don’t say that about yourself,” you demand.
“It’s true isn’t it?” he questions, “Can’t you see that I’m not the person you think I am, that you’ve wasted your time being with some—”
“Just shut up already,” you grit your teeth, “... can’t you see I don’t care? I don’t care if you’re the richest or poorest man on Earth, I don’t care if your dad thinks that your career path is wrong, I don’t care if you or other people think you don’t deserve what you have, I just don’t care! What I do care about is your happiness and that shouldn’t rely on meeting other people’s expectations, including my own Seokjin. Because trust me, as long as I’m with you, I’m the happiest girl in the world. I promise you, if there’s one thing that’s true in this world, it’s that,” you lay your heart bare.
By now the both of you are crying, tears silently rolling down from the corners of each other's eyes.
It hurt to see Jin think so lowly of himself, especially when you knew just how much of an amazing person he was.
“Y/N…” he whispers your name as softly as he can, “I’m just really tired, and I just really wanna go to sleep,” his voice breaks.
“Seokjin—”
“Please?” he frowns, his eyes yearning to be closed.
“I’ll—” you pause for a moment, “I’ll see you in bed then,” you ultimately say, sadness looming in the air for the words unsaid.
Silently nodding, Jin makes his way to the bedroom, gently shutting the door behind him and exhaling a deep breath of air, silent muffled sobs finally escaping. A decision already set in his mind.
“A part of me used to think that I should’ve immediately went to bed that night, that then I would’ve caught him crying and maybe we could’ve thoroughly talked everything out that night, but then I think about all of the events that later happened after that night, and that’s when I understand that maybe we were doomed from the beginning…”
It had been a couple of weeks since the argument with Jin and though your interactions were still a little stiff with one another, you were still hopeful that things would get better. They had to.
Sighing, you unlock the door to your apartment, ready to take a nap after a long day of work. Kicking off your shoes, you say something outloud, assuming that Jin was in the kitchen like he usually was whenever you’d come back from work, “Jin take out the kimchi from the fridge for me please,” your voice weirdly echoes across the room, changing your course of direction from the bathroom to the kitchen.
“Jin?” you ask to an empty kitchen, “Hm,” you hum to yourself, maybe he was in the bedroom …
Walking inside, you see that he isn’t there, but what you do notice is the sudden emptiness of the room. The clothes he’d have thrown around no longer scattered around the room, and his little Mario figurines were no longer on the wooden shelf you two had built from scratch …. What in the hell was going on?
“Seokjin?” you shout again, hoping this was some kind of stupid prank on his part.
In a panicked manner, you look inside every possible room in the apartment, from the closets to the restroom, Jin being nowhere to be found. It isn’t until you do a second search of the kitchen that you notice that there was a note on the floor (most likely accidentally falling to the floor earlier).
Eyebrows furrowing when you read the note, you immediately grab your keys, shock and anger acting as your driving force.
“Right when I left, it began to rain heavy... It’s weird … I remember driving with such a rage that night I was sure I was driving recklessly… but for some reason, as ironic as it was, there was an artist playing on the radio that must’ve kept me at bay, Mariah Carey singing Without You …”
Knock. Knock. Knock.
The door opens.
“Ah Y/N,” Mrs. Kim greets you, her apron from either cooking or baking still on, “I feel like I haven’t seen you in such a long time,” she chuckles, hugging you in the process. Despite your current dilemma, you feign a smile, not wanting to be disrespectful even if you were in a horrible mood. “Is Seokjin with you?” she genuinely asks, and this causes your expression to be one of shock.
He wasn’t here? Then where the hell was he?
“O-oh no,” you stutter, partially due to the freezing weather, “I thought he was here...” you say, and his mother’s face immediately becomes one of concern.
“No...” she hesitantly says, clearly confused, “Not that I know of,” she furrows her brows, “Oh honey, you’re soaking, come in, come in,” she insists, “maybe we can try calling his job using the house phone,” she begins to ramble, but you stop yourself before completely entering, a sudden thought crossing your mind.
“A-a-actually it’s fine,” you say, “I think I know where he is.”
She tilts her head in confusion, “Are you sure? The rain is only getting heavier, and I’m sure neither Seokjin or your parents would want you driving in these conditions,” she says, noting the dull look in your eyes. You appreciated her concern, for you knew she loved you in her own special way, always imagining that you’d one day be her future daughter in law.
It was only expected really, you’d been in Jin’s life for almost 7 years now, both she and your mom always glancing at your ring finger whenever you’d visit, itching to see it decorated by a piece of jewelry.
If only Ms. Kim knew that that dream was slowly slipping away from your grasp at this current moment …
“Yes I’m sure Mrs. Kim,” you finally respond, “Don’t worry, I’ll drive safe,” you try to say as lightheartedly as possible.
Hesitantly, she nods, allowing you to leave.
“When Mrs. Kim had offered me to come inside, something had hit me out of nowhere and I remembered that it was raining. Pouring in fact. And my mind suddenly went back to the days when we were 17, remembering how he’d knock on my door with a bag of takeout after coming back from the one place you could always find him at on a rainy day… the diner. ”
Water is dripping from all over your body when you enter the diner, from your hair to your clothes, you were drenched in mother nature’s tears. The only thing that wasn’t completely soaking wet was the note in your hand, the one you slammed on the booth’s table he sat at once you spotted him.
He looks up at you with a pained expression on his face, “Everything I do is for you, and this is for the best. Don’t come looking for me, for I’ll be long gone by the next morning’s sunrise. I’m sorry. Yours forever, Jin,” you read the note out loud to him, a mixture of anger and hurt found in your voice.
He remains silent, watching as your fingers trembled in anger, “What?” you rhetorically ask, “Did you think I wasn’t going to come all the way down here to look for you, that I was just gonna accept this bullshit of a letter or whatever the fuck you wanna call it, and call it a day? Is that what you honestly thought?”
After several minutes of continuous silence, your voice rises in anger, “Don’t just look at me, say something!” you yell.
“Y/N,” he says, the volume in which you said it, catching the attention of the late night goers also at the diner, “you’re causing a scene.”
You take a seat across from him, planning on being as loud as you needed to be until you got some answers, “How could I not when my boyfriend of over 7 years decides to pack up his things and leave to God knows where while only leaving some sorry excuse of a note for me.” your voice shakes, “What the hell did you expect?”
“I’m sorry,” he whispers, genuinely meaning the two simple words, more than you could ever know. Did you think he wanted to leave you? That he wanted to toss away everything you two had built to the trash? That he wanted to hurt the person who meant the most to him in this world? Of course he didn’t. But he had to be the bad guy in this story. Not for him, but for you. Because he loved you so much, that’d he’d do anything to see you live the life you dreamt of.
“No,” you say, “I don’t believe this,” you fling the letter around in his face, “I need you to tell it to my face, then I’ll believe you,” tears begin to well up in your eyes. There was just no way. The Jin you knew would never do this to you, never in a million years.
“Y/N—” he sighs, but he knows you won’t relent until you hear it from him, “Y/N we can’t be together anymore,” he says, and the words echo in your mind as he continues, “After tonight we’ll be nothing more than strangers,” he says in such a monotone voice, if you didn’t know any better you’d think he was a heartless being.
What you didn’t know was that Jin wanted to cry. He wanted to scream. Every nerve in his body was begging him to break out in tears, but no matter how much he wanted to … he just couldn’t bring himself to break outwardly. Not right now at least. Because right now he needed to be unbreakable.
“You don’t know what you’re saying,” a single teardrop slowly rolls down your cheek, the agonizing ache you felt in your heart now growing because of his words, “Seokjin,” you whimper, “I-If this is because of what you were saying a couple of weeks ago,” forcibly you grab his hand from across the table, your lips quivering in fear of losing the person you loved the most, “then why can’t you see I don’t care? Because to me you’ll always be the tall, lanky, boy with an outdated mullet who first showed me around town 7 years ago with a camera pointed at my face. Because as long as we’re with each other, we’ll get through anything Seokjin …” you squeeze his hand tighter, “You’re my person Seokjin, mine, and mine only,” you try to smile, only causing more tears to spill out of your eyes as they crease.
“Y/N…” just accept it, is what he wants to say because what he was about to say would change how you viewed him, it would make you question everything you ever knew about the person you loved, “I don’t know what else I can say or do for you to understand that I just don’t want to be with you anymore,” he feels the a knot forming in his throat, as if to tell him to stop immediately, that what he was saying would have irreversible consequences, “And I haven’t been for a while…” How disgusting he was.
“You’re—” your voice croaks, “You’re a liar—Seokjin please....” you cry.
He pulls his wallet out and sets the money for his meal down, getting up from his seat in the process, “I truly am sorry Y/N…” is all he can say, before giving you a final kiss on the forehead, his feet fighting against his will to turn around and apologize. To tell you that he was just being an idiot and beg for your forgiveness. But he couldn’t.
He wouldn’t.
And so pushing the door open, he took one final glance at you, knowing he’d left his heart with you.

The Past Catches Up With You
OUAT Peter Pan Imagine
Prompt: “I know what I have to do. But going back means I’ll have to face my past. I’ve been running from it for so long” & “Once you’re grown up, you can never come back.”
The sound if arrows flying through the air then hitting their target and the clashing of swords filled the area. “Nice one, Devin. Now try letting go of the arrow when you breath out,” you instructed one of the Lost Boys. Devin wordlessly nodded and did what you told him, his arrow hitting the target dummy straight in the head. “Excellent work. Rufio, don’t do such fancy moves. It’s about hitting the target in the weak points, not showing off,” you commanded. “Whatever you say, mom,” Rufio sassed, ignoring your helpful tips. You narrowed your eyes at him and strode up to him, quickly knocking him off his feet with a few well placed punches and kicks. “And this is why Pan ordered me to train you boys. You guys are good fighters, but he wants the best, so you either listen to what I say or you’ll end up worse than this,” you scolded the dazed teen. You walked away, towards Pan’s second-in-command, and one of your best friends, Felix.
“Nice way to show them who’s boss, (y/n),” Felix complemented as he sharpened his sword. “Thanks, Felix. These boys have sure have authority problems when it comes to someone other than Pan giving them orders,” you said, sitting next to Felix on a log. “They listen to me, though,” Felix pointed out. “True. I have theory that they don’t respect me as much cause I’m the only girl here. And I happen to be one of Pan’s most trustworthy,” you told the scar-faced teen. “It’s possible. The boys aren’t too keen on newcomers. You being a girl doesn’t make matters better.” You rolled your eyes; you’ve been here for a couple of years, but time on Neverland was different than everywhere else. “I’ve earned this position despite being a girl. They should know that Pan doesn’t just trust me without a proper reason,” you said, crossing your arms in front of your chest. “Speak of the devil,” Felix said, motioning his head towards a figure appearing from the green foliage.
Peter Pan stood to the side of the training ground, eyes intensely watching the boys as they practiced archery, swording fighting, and sparring. Authority and dark magical power radiated from his figure, his green eyes glowing as they seemingly stared into the very existence of his Lost Boys. He was expressionless as he mentally noted what the boys were doing wrong and right. The sight before you made you feel warm, but you tried not to show how the piper affected you. Said boy locked eyes with you, a smirk breaking out onto his lips as he strode over to you. “Tired, love. Are the boys too much for you to handle?” he teased, raising one magnificently sculpted eyebrow. “More like they can’t handle me. Rufio over there is still bandaging his hurt pride when I knocked him to the ground for back talking,” you chuckled, eyeing said boy. He was grumpily pouting on a wooden log across from where you were. Peter found this rather amusing, a sly smirk on his face. “His loss, love. Come, I think the boys had enough training for today,” he said, getting up from the log. He whistled loudly, getting all the, boys attention and told them, “Alright, boys training’s over! Get back to camp if you want your fill of dinner before its gone!”
A stampede of hungry, teenage boys rushed towards the main camp, dirt and dust flying as they did so. You camly got up and followed the horde of Lost Boys, used to their frenzied antics. Peter walked alongside you, as you took your time walking the path back to the main camp. “I’m still surprised you can put up with our rowdiness. Being a princess and all, I’d expect you complain endlessly about how ‘wild’ we are,” Peter said as you traveled through the jungle of Neverland. “Hey, I was a rebel princess. If I wasn’t, I wouldn’t even be here,” you defended yourself, punching the King of Neverland playfully, but hard, in the arm. Pan allowed you to hit him, as you knew he could easily stop you, and playfully cried out in pain.
Before you were the first Lost Girl on Neverland, you were a princess, although not first in line to inherit your kingdom. Unlike the other inhabitants of Neverland, you were not from the Enchanted Forest or the Land Without Magic. You were a princess from another dimension, and you hated your royal roots. You hated the stuffy dresses, the countless rules, the strict and stone faced members of the royal house ... hell, you couldn’t even talk to or hang out with anyone that wasn’t humanoid or a royal non-humanoid from an allied kingdom. Like the monsters that were repressed by your people. It was suffocating and you didn’t conform to your families strict ideals.
As such, your family finally had enough of your “rebelliousness” and decided to send you off to an institution know for “correcting” wayward princesses. You, in turn, had enough of royalty and fled your home without a word, seeking out the freedom you dearly longed for. Eventually, you found your way to Neverland, encountering Pan and his Lost Boys, who met your arrival with them encircling you with weapons drawn, aimed to kill. The only reason you were still alive today was that you were able to hear Pan’s flute, meaning you were lost, and therefore part of the Lost Boys. It took awhile for everyone to trust you, especially Pan, but it happened and you were never felt more like you were home.
Back to the present, you and Peter finally reached the main camp, a raging bonfire going on in the middle of the layout of tents and huts. The boys were either chowing down or were dancing to the beat of the drums. Peter left you to go include himself in the boys merry making as you grabbed a bite to eat. Grabbing a slice of meat from the day’s hunt, you silently greeted a few of the boys with a raise of your cup. The younger boys dragged you to sit with them, happily chatting away as they told you about their day.
Soon you were done with your meal and the music called to you. Like you were under a spell, you jumped into the frey of wildly dancing bodies, letting the music guide your movements. You danced freely with your fellow lost brothers, your mind focusing on the sound of the pan flute and the drums. As you danced around the fire, you saw Peter staring intensely at you with his green eyes, the light of the bonfire casting shadows across his face, intensifying the strikingness of his attractive features. You couldn’t help but keep his gaze as you danced, enjoying the way he was looking at you with such intensity, an undistinguishable emotion flowing in his eyes.
Unfortunately, the party was interrupted by a loud sound and a bright light. Everyone stopped in the middle of what they were doing, staring at a hole ripped into the fabric of space and time right near the center of the campgrounds. The portal seemed to shine brighter as two figures appeared from the other side of it. As they stepped through, the portal closed behind them, allowing you to see their features now that the unnatural brightness was gone. One of the figures was a teenage boy, characterized with tan skin, dark brown hair, and a mole on his right cheek. He was wearing red hoodie over a light grey shirt, dark grey skinny jeans, and olive/white sneakers on his slender build. His brown eyes eyed the Lost Boys nervously, his hand twitching over the hilt of the sword in his sheath. The other figure was a teenage girl with long blonde hair, light blue eyes, and fair skin. On her head, she wore a magenta headband with devil horns, paired with a green and mint collared short sleeved dress, pink and purple striped leggings, white boots with pink tips and a star on each heel, along with a black spider necklace. But the most astonishing part about the girl was the pink heart shaped marks she had on her cheeks.
Peter and the Lost Boys immediately surrounded the two newcomers, weapons pointed at them. “Who the hell are you and what are you doing on my island?” Peter growled. The boy immediately pulled out his sword and took a defensive stance. The girl on the other hand, raised her hands up and yelled, “Stop! We’re not here to hurt anyone! We’re just looking for someone!” Peter dismissed her claim, saying, “Whoever you are looking for is not here! Now leave before my boys and I make you wish you never stepped foot here!” The boy raised their weapons, slowly drawing closer to the new girl and boy. The girl now raised her up hands up and took a defensive stance, her hands glowing purple with magic.
Before any violence could come to a head, you shouted a command out to the Lost Boys and Peter, breaking the tense air. “Everyone put your weapons down!” you shouted, voice strong and dominating. The Lost Boys, confused by the order, slightly lowered their weapons and allowed you to walk through the crowd of them to the new visitors. As you showed yourself to the newcomers, the blonde haired girl’s eyes widened and her mouth dropped open in shock. “ (Y/n)?” the girl said. “Star,” you said breathlessly, unable to bite back the smile that made its way to your face. Star’s hands stopped glowing and she tackled you ina hug, which you gladly returned. “Um, what’s going on?” the hoodie wearing boy asked, completely clueless. “Marco, this is my cousin I told you about? I’m pretty sure I told you about my favorite family member,” Star explained, looking at her friend while still holding on you.
“Oh, isn’t this precious,” Pan sneered, interrupting the moment. “A family reunion. How wonderful that they’ve come to visit.” You decided to ignore Peter and his terrible attitude, continuing to talk to your four-years younger cousin. “How did you find me, Star? Neverland isn’t on any map and can’t be visited through ordinary means,” you asked. “I was able to use your old tiara to finding out what dimension you were in! Pretty cool right,” Star bragged a giant smile on her face. Before you could say another word, Peter got in between the two of you, creating a distance of a few feet. “Peter!” you exclaimed angrily. “What the hell?” “I don’t care that you’re her family. I want you off my island. (y/n) has already told me about the way you treated her and I don’t want someone like you here because of it,” he coldly told Star. “Hey, man, back off!” Star’s friend, Marco, yelled stepping in front of Star protectively. The Lost Boys didn’t like this, murder in their eyes as they crowded around you four, fingers itching to use their weapons. “Everyone stop! I don’t want any fighting!” you shouted, dreading for any blows coming to a head. The Lost Boys slightly calmed down, but they were still tense.
“Peter, Star was the only one in my family that I could be myself around. I see I rubbed off on you a bit,” you said. “You guys keep talking about our family as if they were abusive, keeping you locked up and so on,” Star pointed out. “I forget you were too young to understand at the time. Grandma Etheria and the rest of the Butterfly family constantly looked down at me, finding fault in everything I did. I didn’t dress right, talk right, sit right, walk right ... and they let me know. It practically destroyed my self-esteem. And to make matter worse, Grandma Etheria decided to send me to St. Olga’s,” you explained to your younger cousin. “Oh no, not St. O’s!” Star exclaimed in horror. “Please don’t tell me they tried to turn you into a mindless ‘perfect’ princess!” As she said this, she grabbed your forearms and shook you a bit. “Calm down, Star, I didn’t go to St. O’s. I left home before I was forcibly shipped off. I had a pair of dimension scissors and used them to hop from dimension to dimension until I eventually found my way here,” you continued, smiling when you reminisced about finding Neverland, your true home.
“I’m happy you found a place you could finally be yourself. If I wasn’t so desperate for your help, I wouldn’t even ask you this,” Star said. This worried you; what did she want you to do? Star quickly answered your question before you voiced it, saying, “I need you to come back to Mewni with me.” “What?!” you shouted, eyes wide and mouth agape. “I’m sorry, but I really need your help! My mom has disappeared and I can’t find her, the Butterfly castle and kingdom are destroyed by Eclipsa’s half-monster daughter and she escaped her crystal! I can’t do this on my own and everything is in disarray!” Star cried.
All this new information shocked you, making you stand there in silence. Peter decided to step in, angrily setting in Star’s face. “You might be royalty, but I’m the king here. I say who steps foot on and leaves my island. This includes (y/n). Since she’s lost, that means she belongs here and with me. Shfe’s mine, and she’s not going anywhere off this island,” he threatened. Star stood her ground, staring into his harsh green eyes that seemed to glow with dark power. “Then you don’t know (y/n), because she hates other people making choices for her.” She turned towards you and continues, saying, “(y/n), I’m sorry for our family treating you so terribly and I understand your reason for running away. But I still care for you and so does my mother, both of us missing you terribly when you left. If you still love us as much as we love you, I beg you to help me. I need you, my mom needs you, Mewni needs you!”
(y/n) could only stand there in silence, which Peter mistook for her not wanting to return to her home, while in reality she was pondering over her beloved cousin’s words. “Get off my island. I never want to see your faces again,” he threatened, before whistling loudly, causing the Lost Boys to snap into a a violent, wild frenzy. The area was quickly filled with the sounds of weapons clashing, cries of pain, and angry shouts as Star and Marco fought the Lost Boys. Luckily, Star and Marco were successfully able to defend themselves, despite being greatly outnumbered. Star’s voice filled the air as she shouted spells and Marco yelled as he used karate moves/defended himself with his sword. You tried yelling at both sides to stop fighting, but neither side listened to you, either not hearing you over all the noise or not caring enough to listen to you. This made you angry, so angry you used your magic to cast a powerful spell to end the violence.
Unlike Star, you didn't need to verbally say a spell to use your magic, simply sending out a wave of bluish-white magic to emit from your magically glowing figure. As the wave of magic hit the Lost Boys, Peter, Star, and Marco, they were enveloped into a quartz of crystal, frozen in place. You sighed as you stood past the crystal prisons of your fellow Lost Boys, stopping at Peter’s crystal, staring at his evil smirk on his face and the magic accumulated in his hands. “You just couldn’t wait and let me think for a moment could you, “ you said sadly. You used your magic to reverse the spell, and on Star and Marco as well. The three teens fell to the ground, gasping for breath. “I’m so sorry, guys. This was the only way to get you to stop fighting and listen to me,” you apologized, helping Star up first. “Was that the Crystal Imprisonment Spell that Rhombulas uses? Where did you learn it?” Star asked, amazed that you could do such advanced magic. “Glossaryck used to give me private lessons. He said that I needed to learn magic, too, in case something happens. But he wasn’t specific on what that was,” (y/n) explained. “That sounds like Glossaryck.”
You turned towards Peter as he growled, getting up from the ground and his green eyes trained on you. “You little ... How dare you use your magic on me!” he yelled, “Release the Lost Boys right now (y/n)!” “You left me no choice, Peter. You all were attacking my family and I couldn’t just stay by,” you said sternly, brows furrowed as you scolded him. “How can you defend them? They’re the main reason why you are on Neverland in the first place! Or haven’t you forgot that?” Pan seethed. “I haven’t forgotten what they did to me, Pan. But this just isn’t about my family anymore. My homeland is in danger and you’re wrong to think I’ll just sit around and watch shit hit the fan!” you yelled, turning around to walk away, thinking that was the end of it. But it wasn’t and Pan wanted to let you know it. “Oh really? Well, know this, princess, you’ll eventually be disappointed as nothing is going to change. You’ll still be the miserable, insecure, little girl you were when you came here, scrutinized by your family and your people,” Peter threatened, teeth clenched and pure hatred seeping from his pores.
You stopped, back still facing Peter. Said boy smirked, thinking he won this argument. But what you said surprised the male, saying, without looking at him, “I know what I have to do now, Peter. I know going back means I’ll have to face my past. I’ve been running from it for so long but I have to face it sooner or later. And I choose now.” Pan stood there shocked, mouth open a bit as he contemplated your words, and watched as Marco effortlessly opened a portal to another dimension with a pair of scissors, then entered the hole in the fabric of time and space while mumbling about ‘nachos,’ whatever that was. Star on the other hand, nervously looked behind her at Peter, seemingly contemplating if taking (y/n) away from her current home was a good thing, before regretfully entering the swirling portal.
Before the (h/c) haired girl followed the two, she turned her head to the side, looking at so called King of Neverland. “I promise I’ll come back as soon as I can, Peter, to my home, the Lost Boys, and you,” she said, so much raw emotion held in her eyes. But Peter didn’t care, only focussing on the frustration that took over his heart and mind. “I forbid you from leaving, (y/n)! When you leave this island, you’ll eventually grow up, and once you’re grown up, you can never come back!” he shouted angrily. (Y/n) physically flinched and quickly turned her head back towards the portal, trying not to show the tears in the corners of her eyes. “Goodbye, Peter. Until we meet again.” And with those words, she stepped through the portal and left Neverland, seemingly forever.
As the portal closed behind her, (y/n)’s magic seemed to leave with her, as the crystals imprisoning the Lost Boys started to melt, freeing them from their containment. Felix was the first to get his bearings, stroding over to Peter and placing a hand on his shoulder, said King of Neverland not tearing his eyes away from the spot in which (y/n) walked into the portal. “Pan, what happened? Where’s (y/n) and the other two?” Felix asked his fearless leader, a scowl on his scarred face. “She’s gone, Felix. She left Neverland,” Peter told his second-in-command emotionlessly.
Before the taller male could question him some more, the green-clad boy turned and walked away from the center of the campgrounds, towards his own private tent. Felix knew he was taking the Lost Girl’s departure harder than he let on. But he gave his trustful leader some space, allowing Peter to let his emotions loose in private. “(Y/n), I hope you know what you’re doing,” Felix said quietly to himself, before moving to help his fellow Lost Boys recover from the recent events.
~ Time Skip ~
“Again! I expect you to redo everything until you lot get this right! I have no excuse for weak, boys in my army of Lost Boys!” Peter seethed. It was several months, possibly a year, since (y/n) left Peter and Neverland. At first, Peter was angry, at (y/n) and her cousin, for leaving Neverland. Then, he was angry at himself for letting the Lost Girl leave, thinking he should have done everything he could from letting the girl leave. Eventually, Peter’s anger faded away and was replaced with a longing to see his favorite girl again. It was only until (y/n) left did Peter realize he felt something for the rebel princess, seeing her more as just another inhabitant of Neverland and a pawn in his games. And when he realized this non-platonic feelings, he regretted being so heartless to (y/n) before she left, hating himself for letting that be the last thing he ever said to the (h/c) haired girl.
Since (y/n) left Neverland, Peter changed, unfortunately for the worse. He was harsher and more cruel towards his Lost Boys and those that had the misfortune of being his enemy. All Pan cared for now was power, stopping at nothing to increase his magical strength by achieving immortality, regardless of the lives he had to take. And that meant he was setting in motion the events that would lead to taking the heart of the Truest Believer from a young boy to remain young forever.
Hence, the current intense training session the Lost Boys were doing, as Pan need them to be prepared for everything and anything, failure not being an option. “Who knew (y/n) leaving effect Pan this much? He’s been running us into the ground during training even since the girl left him,” Rufio mumbled to a couple of other Lost Boys. Pan heard this, and he did not like it. “What was that Rufio?” he snarled and turned towards the wise-cracking Lost Boy. Rufio’s face paled in fear as Pan strode towards him, his friends that once surrounded him nowhere to be seen, as they fled from Pan’s wrath.
The poor Lost Boy stood quaking in his boots as the King of Neverland stood in front of him, the slightly shorter leader wrapping a hand around Rufio’s throat, crushing his windpipe and preventing any air from reaching his lungs. Rufio gasped from breath as the other Lost Boys stood there in fear induced silence, unable to do anything but watch. “You’ve been mouthing off too much for my tastes. Looks like I’m going to have to put a stop to it permanently,” Peter growled. He shoved his hand into his chest, fingers wrapping around the boys heart. “Please, no...” Rufio pleaded.
Pan was just about to rip the boys heart out of his chest and then crush it to dust, when a loud noise and bright light shook the camp site. Everyone turned their heads to the sky, where a giant multicolored portal hung just below the treetops. Something or someone, came out of it, falling to the ground, and the portal closed violently with a loud bang. Peter and the Lost Boys were unable to do anything, as the figure got up from the ground and their features finally revealed by the light of the fire. (H/c) locks framed a (face shape) face, (e/c) eyes looking over everything as a bright smile broke out on the female’s (thin/plump) lips.
Felix was the first to break the silence, calling out the name of the person. “(y/n)? Is that really you?” the second-in-command asked, shocked that the girl had finally returned to Neverland. “Yeah, it's me,” the former Lost Girl replied a smile on her face. Felix immediately caught the girl in a hug, picking up the (much/slightly) shorter girl in his excitement. It seemed the spell was broken, as the Lost Boys immediately started moving towards the former Lost Girl, chatter filling the silence.
“Welcome back, (y/n),” Felix said to the girl, after he pulled away from her. “It’s great to be back,” (y/n) replied, her face so full of light and joy. Her (e/c) eyes caught Peter’s, causing the girl to stare straight into the piper’s eyes. He was stunned; here she was, the girl Peter has been obsessing over ever since she left, popping out of the blue, acting as if she never left in the first place. Their longing glaze was broken by a younger Lost Boy tugging on (y/n)’s hand, her attention turning towards the little one. “(Y/n), will you be staying here? Please don’t leave us again,” he said, his voice honey sweet and blue eyes looking at the (h/c) girl with pleading eyes. “Don’t worry, Jack,” (y/n) said, lowing herself so she could be eye level with the young boy. “I won’t be leave you.”
She rose to her full height and announced with a loud voice, “In fact, I will never have to leave Neverland again. From this moment forward, this island will be my forever home!” The campsite erupted in cheers and howls, all the Lost Boys loudly showing their approval. “If that’s the case then, let’s celebrate! To our one and only Lost Girl!” Felix cheered. As if it wasn’t already possible, the boys got even louder, happily cheering at the chance to party. Peter could only stare on wordlessly, as (y/n) was swept away by several Lost Boys, losing his sight on the magnificent girl.
~ Time Skip ~
The Lost Boys howled in delight as the drums were banged and the fire in the center of the campsite crackled. Peter watched from the side lines as they danced wildly. But his gaze was focused on one very special dancer. His green eyes followed (y/n), watching every move of her limbs and bend of her body as she danced without a care in the world. She was one with the music as she her body followed the rhythm of the drums. Peter’s eyes caught (y/n)’s (e/c) ones, everything around him seeming to slow down as did so.
He immediately tore his gaze away from her, pretending to be watching Felix wrestle some unfortunate soul into the dirt ground. In the corner of his eye, he saw (y/n) stop her lively dancing and steadily make his way towards him. Peter felt his breath get caught in his chest as she came closer, but was able to calm himself down before (y/n) got close enough to notice the effect she had on him.
“Enjoying the party?” she asked him, leaning against the bark of a tree next to him. “Of course. I enjoy seeing my boys let loose for once. The drinks help a bit, too,” he replied, gesturing towards the wooded cup in his hand. (Y/n) gazed out at rowdy group of wild teenage boys in front of her, a closed-mouth smile on her face. “I missed this. The freedom, how carefree everything is, not having any responsibilities,” she admitted. “You missed all of this? Even Rufio’s attitude?” he asked, surprised.
(Y/n) let out a short laugh, music to Peter’s ears. “Is it so surprising I missed my home. There wasn’t a day where I didn’t long to come back here and just let loose,” (y/n) continued, (e/c) eyes glowing in the firelight as she stared out at the wild party goers. It was silent for a little bit, a hint of awkwardness in the air. “So, um, what exactly happened back on Meowy?” Peter spoke up, desperately trying to break the silence. “Mewni. And so much happened. Everything has changed. And I couldn’t be happier,” (y/n) explained, a smile on her face as she reminisced. “Tell me about it. I’ve never heard of it before.”
“Well, I won’t go into the long and detailed history, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to hear about that. But I will tell you that Mewni is now unified between its people and the kingdom is in the hands of its true queen,” (y/n) explained as shortly as she could. “Well, that’s good,” Peter replies. A pregnant pause filled the air, until Peter thankfully broke it. “Is what you said before actually true?” he asked, voice barely above a whisper. “What?” you question, thinking you misheard him. “You said would never leave Neverland again? Was that true? Or was that just something you said that was in spur of the moment?” Peter continued. In the back of his mind, he couldn’t believe what she was true. Why would she want to stay here and be with me? he thought. Especially after how I treated her the last time I saw her. “Peter,” (y/n) said softly. “I was serious when I said that. Nothing will make me leave Neverland and you guys again.”
Peter felt his heart stop for moment, in disbelief at what she just told him. (Y/n) turned her kind gaze away from looking down at her hands folded in her lap. “Besides, it’s not like I can return home anyway,” she said softly. “Wait, what?” Peter thought he heard wrong. “It’s no big deal. You already know I never saw Mewni as my home. Neverland is my home. When the chance came for me to spend forever in my homeworld or spend forever here, I made my choice,” she explained nonchalantly. Peter could only open his mouth wide in shocked silence. He never thought she would such a thing. Give up her family and everything she known just to be with for him and the Lost Boys. It was almost insane.
“You really did all of that? Even after what I said to you before you left?” Peter gaped. “I’m sorry ... for what I said by the way. I wasn’t thinking straight and -” “Wow, the Peter Pan apologizing. To little old me,” (y/n) teased a goofy smile on her face. “Don’t make fun of me. You know I’m don’t ever apologize ” Peter pouted. (y/n) giggled, forcing a hidden smile to make its way to Peter’s lips. “I missed you, you know. Can you believe that?” Peter admitted, trying to hide his warming cheeks. (y/n) was astonished at his confession.“You really missed me? I thought you would have forgotten about me.” “I would never. There wasn’t a day I didn’t think about you,” Peter continued, gently taking the girl’s hands into his. (Y/n) looked down their combined hands, cheeks red at the feeling of Peter’s warm hands. “I did, too. The thought of Neverland and you kept me going. You were my reason to keep fighting, so one day I would be able to return to you.”
Peter gently placed his fingertips under her chin, directing her downcast eyes to look at him. “(Y/n) ...” he trailed off. He didn't know what he was going to say, his eyes flicking to her luscious soft lips. Peter couldn’t help but subconsciously darted his tongue out to wet his own, longing to meet them with hers. His hand trailed to cup her cheek, enjoying the site of her reddening skin under his rough fingertips. (Y/n)’s luminous (e/c) orbs nervously flew to look back at him, her breathing hitching in her throat. He watched her for a moment, looking for any indication that she was uncomfortable. But there was none, so Peter slowly inched closer, stopping until there was little more than an inch between them. He heart stopped as (y/n) closed the distance between them, the organ soaring at the feeling of her luscious lips on his own. Peter felt her wrap her hands around his neck loosely, his other hand moving to grip tightly to (y/n)’s hip. He could taste the Neverberries from the juice she had before, along with a specific taste he couldn’t quite identify. But he couldn't get enough it, shown by him adding more pressure into the kiss. (Y/n) reacted positively, fingers gripping onto the hairs at the base of his neck, a little mewl coming from her lips as she relaxed into his hold. Peter was just about to kick it up a notch when they were rudely interrupted.
“Hey, lovebirds! Get a tent will ya?” Felix shouted from across the campfire, hands cupped over his mouth and announcing the scene to everyone. (Y/n) was the first to pull away, face red as the Lost Boys howling once they noticed what their leader and Lost Girl were doing. “Shut up all of you!” Peter hollered at the boys. He was just about to teach them all a lesson when he felt (y/n) lean her head onto his chest. He looked down she was hiding her face in his shirt in embarrassment, the sight causing his heart pang in pity. “Peter, let’s go somewhere else. Please,” (y/n) quietly pleaded. “Alright, dear. Let’s head back to my tent. I still want to be with my favorite Lost Girl,” he whispered in her ear, placing a kiss on her forehead. Peter wrapped an arm around the girl’s waist and gently led her away from the center of camp. The Lost Boys started cheer and make lewd comments, which Peter when stopped at the entrance of his private abode, (y/n) continuing on inside without him. “Not another word from any you, or else I’ll be locking you in the cages for a week!” he threatened, glaring at them with darkness in his eyes. The boys shut up, knowing their leader was serious as they avoided eye contact. “Felix, knock up into shape if anything happens.” The second-in-command smirked, giving Peter a quick wink. The green-clad boy ignored it, heading inside and back to the beautiful girl waiting for him. (y/n) was laying on his fur-covered bed, patiently waiting for him. Peter sighed and crawled next to her, pulling her into arms once he was comfortable. He snuggled into neck, placing soft kisses onto her exposed neck. “Stay with, darling. I want you in my arms tonight,” Peter pleaded, already feeling his eyes close in bliss. “With you. Always.”

Hi can I request a dadlevi x momreader where they have a teenage daughter and the 104th cadet boys gave a crush on her and Levi gets really protective and the reader has to reassure him that she's not a baby anymore please see thank you😁
Parent Troubles
A/n: Sorry this is so late I had some serious writers block. I hope you don't mind that I made it more gender-neutral. I loved this Idea <3
Levi Ackerman x Parent Reader ( gender-neutral)
" Protective?!" the child both you and Levi cherished spoke up from the sofa in your office. "I can barely talk to my friend for 2 seconds before he butts in, I mean he appears out of nowhere...". You listened to them as they babbled on while you scribbled away at the mountain of paperwork you had.
" You should probably clean this office before Dad sees it..." the 15-year-old commented on the state of your not so sanitary office. You grimaced at the thought of Levi busting into your office only to discover you hadn't been keeping up his level of cleanliness. You were relieved that he had been too occupied with your teenage kid to keep tabs on your sense of hygiene.
You were interrupted by them standing in front of your desk. You looked up to them dragging their hand under the tabletop, a motion you were all too familiar with. " I wonder what Dad would say?" a mischievous grin plastered on their face.
you narrowed your eyes at them knowing exactly what they were up to. You sighed putting your pen down and folding your arms across your chest.
" What do you want?" "All alright!" they shouted with glee " Keep Dad busy for a couple of hours tomorrow and my lips are sealed about your office, deal?"
"Deal"
You should have known this would be no easy feat, although the more you thought about it, the more you enjoyed the thought of spending some alone time with Levi.
Both of you were Captains so you understood how busy things could get and with your kid treading into their rebellious stage, life seemed to just sweep away your time.
You had been wandering the halls thinking of a way to get Levi distracted tomorrow. Of course, there were plenty of ideas that floated through your head. Maybe a little too many inappropriate ones that unintentionally popped up now and then.
When you had wandered to Levi's office, you decided to wing it. You slipped in and made your way over, leaning on the side desk your back facing him. You had momentarily caught his attention before he continued his work.
After all these years, your heart still raced in his presence. The room was silent despite the faint sounds of his pen moving along the paper. Your thoughts were running miles as you tried to form the correct sentence that didn't sound suspicious but, it's not like you were only doing this to get out of trouble. You did want to spend time with him.
" If you have something on your mind, spit it out! we're not flustered teens that can't communicate anymore." You glanced over your shoulder at him. " I was thinking... if maybe you'd want to do something tomorrow." " We haven't had time alone in a while". You added
You expected him to decline. You knew Levi loved you. Although he would never admit it, he wanted to spend every moment he had with you but reality still sets and he's too busy.
He set his pen down and glanced up at you, " okay, there"s something I've been wanting to do for a while anyway." Your eyes lit up " really?" Levi slightly smiled, after all these years you still got the same look in your eyes every time you get excited.
" All right! let's get started "
when you said you wanted to spend the day with Levi, this is exactly what you were trying to avoid.
" Did you think I wouldn't notice that you haven't cleaned your office in weeks?"
You pouted and refused to make eye contact like a child being scolded.
You and Levi chatted here and there while cleaning. " How did you find out?" you asked him curiously. " I came in here the other day looking for that Brat of ours..." " now that I think about it just the thought of Jean or Eren or anyone putting their sleazy hands on them just boils my blood"
You lightly chuckled at his protectiveness " you know they're starting to grow up, They're not a little kid anymore" Levi looked up at you. " I know but you guys are all I have..." Levi was only this vulnerable around you, " I know you're all we have too" you pulled him into a hug.
The two of you continued to clean your office until the door swung open abruptly.
" Guess what! I got asked on a date... ohhhh you got busted huh" they laughed. You cleared your throat "Speaking of busted!" you pointed behind them. They glanced behind them shocked to Levi was there the whole time. They bolted out the door Levi not too far behind them.
You smiled, you loved the family you had.

Saving Her (Ojiro Mashirao x Wolf!Reader)
Part 6: Shopping for clothes, food court and boba experience served with Ashido’s endless shipping and topped off with an incredibly protective Dadzawa.
Word Count: 5.8k
After another hour of shopping around the huge mall, Aizawa decided now would probably be a good time to try and round his students up. Since if there were any problems tracking down those problematic and ridiculously talented children, he could deal with it before it got too late and past their curfew.
Besides, you still needed clothes and he was not equipped to handle that. As Kayama said, he had the fashion sense of an emo teenager going through his rebellious phase. The thing was, she had been saying that since she met him, so it lost its effect a long time ago.
"Heeyy, Ojiro-kun!! Y/N-chan!!!"
The both of you turned around to see Uraraka waving enthusiastically at you. Yaoyorozu and Ashido were with her, along with Shoji, Asui and Hagakure coming from the opposite direction.
Ojiro had spared his teacher from having to call all of them and simply sent a message in the group chat.
You didn't even want to know how often they used it based off of the glance you got when he pulled out his phone and let you see. In the span of the six-inch screen, you had caught a glimpse of topics ranging from food to homework to bodily functions and your head was spinning.
Aizawa sighed boredly and you threw him a sly side glance as Jirou, Kaminari and Ojiro ran out to meet the rest of the group once the boy by your side ensured you would stay with the only one responsible here.
"You're not really tired, are you, Aizawa-sensei?" You asked cheekily, skipping over to him.
He huffed out a laugh as he leaned against the wall. "You're cute, kid. Cut it out."
"I can't help it~" You whined, pouting childishly.
You protested as he ruffled your hair. Unlike when Ojiro did it, he was rougher and always messed it up. Nearly patting it down so it laid flat, you glared and the nerve he had to laugh outright at you had your mock frown wavering into a bright smile.
The sound made your eyes sparkle happily and he caught on quick.
"You did that on purpose, kid." He stated with a sigh, already feeling himself succumbing to your adorable nature.
No one should be that cute. It wasn't good for his heart.
He raised an eyebrow at you as you scuffed your feet on the ground, a cheeky smile still plastered on your face.
Aizawa ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head slightly. You were cute, even with how reluctant he was to admit to sometimes. Damn, he was getting a soft spot for you.
But the instant Ashido cooed, he returned to his stiff, normal, rugged teacher self.
"Alright, get going." He said dryly, gently redirecting you towards Ojiro who was holding out his hand to you before following. "We don't have all day."
"Technically, we do." Kaminari whispered in your ear and you giggled, covering it up with Aizawa fixated a glare on the two of you.
You held up your hand in surrender. "We are innocent."
"Yeah, yeah, likely story." Aizawa didn't believe you for a second. "Just go."
You skipped on ahead, Ojiro glued to your side. The girls flocked around you, Yaoyorozu leading the group to a different clothing store that she and her companions had been at earlier. This seemed much more suited to you, not to mention, a lot more affordable.
You were picking out a couple of things that seemed nice but you were really taking a gamble. You never had been clothes shopping before and weren't really sure what to expect. People mostly dressed you in whatever they wanted you to be presented in.
Luckily, Yaoyorozu swooped in to help.
Ojiro was surprisingly pretty knowledgeable about fashion too and when asked, he had blushed before proudly gushing about his little sister who he usually took on all her shopping trips when their parents were busy working. She had quite an acute fashion sense.
A huge pile of clothes later, you were shoved into a fitting room, with Shoji, Kaminari, Ojiro and Aizawa all waiting outside like some kind of odd band.
Either that, or a very disgruntled dad who was forced to tag along with all his unusual children.
The girls were gushing over each item that you put on, rushing out to get different sizes if the ones they picked didn't fit, making you show the boys and guardian everything that you liked.
You tended to gravitate more towards comfy clothes but there were a few Yaoyorozu and Hagakure found that were both beautiful and versatile. Those were an immediate yes from Aizawa and Ojiro, wanting you to have as much variety as possible.
Everything the girls had picked out that you show them complimented your figure beautifully but was still modest.
While you weren't looking, Shoji had selected some shoes for you, noticing that the ones you had one were practically falling apart on your feet. They were sturdy but had a geometric pattern that you found you rather liked a lot.
Thanking him, you beamed and he hid a smile.
Aizawa paid for all of it without batting an eye and you felt guilty for making him spend his money.
"You're not making me do anything, kid." He called out, as if he could read your thoughts. "I'm doing this because I want to provide for you, not because I feel forced to, got it?"
Besides, he had more than enough thanks to his hero work and teaching at the school. He rarely splurged on anything, the last thing being his old yellow sleeping bag which he had gotten years ago.
This wasn't even going to make a dent in the funds he had saved up.
You sniffled, nodding once. His bluntness took you by surprise but you concealed it well. You had no idea he could be so caring. You were overwhelmed by his generosity and the kindness of the people that surrounded you.
How did I get so lucky? What did I do to deserve this?
Aizawa's hands grasped empty air where the bags had been a minute ago, glancing at his students who were now in possession of your newly purchased things but shrugged, leaving them to it. Less work for him.
He watched them stumble one after another, all of them eagerly making their way to the food court. He checked the time on his phone, suppressing a yawn. It was about time to eat anyway.
Finally. He could sit down and take a nap.
You yelped as Ashido suddenly grasped your arm, pulling you along and you stumbled a few feet before righting yourself. Your hand slipped out of Ojiro's and you shouted in surprise as she took off like a racecar.
"Wha... Where are we going?!" You exclaimed as she sped ahead, dragging you along with her and leaving everyone else in the dust.
She excitedly pointed up ahead and you followed her finger.
"What's 'bubble tea'?" You asked innocently, never hearing of it before.
Your friend gasped in shock that you had never had the pleasure of experiencing the best thing in the world but then the wicked smile that crossed her face as she got behind the line was borderline evil.
"Oh, you're going to love this!!" Ashido said, her eyes gleaming.
When it was your turn, Ojiro finally caught up to the two of you. He was out of breath but all the tension in his body dissipated as he spotted you, safe and sound next to the pink girl. Unknown to you, he had zipped after you the second your hand slipped out of his but he had gotten swarmed by the crowd and lost sight of you.
Thankfully, Ashido hadn't taken you too far.
You squeaked, drawing your hands into your chest as you were crushed to his chest. "O-Ojiro-kun?"
"Geez, Y/N." He breathed, exasperated. "Don't scare me like that."
His scolding was light since he obviously knew it wasn't your fault but he was still concerned. You mumbled an apology and he hastily corrected his mistake, reassuring you that you didn't do anything wrong and you sank into his embrace, relieved.
Seeing as how it was your turn to order, he reluctantly let you go. You wandered up to the counter to shyly ask the barista what was good for someone who hadn't tried boba before and the girl launched into an advertisement of all her favorites.
Ojiro was busy sending a quick message to Aizawa to let him know that he had found you when Ashido slinked into his field of vision.
She bumped his hip with hers, pumping a fist into the air. "Oh, lighten up Ojiro, she's safe with me!! I won't let anybody take her!!"
She knew of the people after you but she had no idea about the incident that had occurred inside one of the stores just hours ago. As Ojiro clued her in, her eyes went wide and filled with guilt.
"Holy... I'm so sorry, I had no idea." She said, shoulders dropping as her usual energy dulled down. "Is she okay?"
Ojiro nodded, not once taking his eyes off of you. "Yeah, she was a bit shaky at first, but who wouldn't be? I think she's okay so long as we don't leave her."
Ashido nodded understandingly.
Seeing as how you were having trouble deciding what to get after a multitude of options from the enthusiastic barista, you turned back to Ojiro helplessly.
He slid up behind you, hands on your waist as he rested his chin on your shoulder.
"Can we please have one regular milk tea with tapioca, a chai milk tea, and a taro milk tea with no ice, half sugar and tapioca, please?" He requested of the nice girl behind the counter, squeezing your side to let you know that everything was alright and you relaxed in his embrace.
Talking to strangers freaked you out even though she seemed nice enough. You just didn't like looking like an idiot who didn't know what they were doing, lacking the social skills everyone else seemed to have no problems with.
Ashido beamed, hopping over from looking at the menu to where the two of you were standing.
"No way, you remembered my order?!" She shrieked in disbelief and awe as she heard the complicated order. "Ojiro, you're amazing!!"
You had to agree with that statement. She proceeded to tell you of the time when she ordered it back when they were at Yaoyorozu's house to study for the upcoming exam, saying that there's no other way he could've heard it if it wasn't from back then.
You latched onto her story as if it was the most incredible thing in the world.
As Ojiro paid for the drinks, you helped carry them back to the table where Aizawa was sitting, Ashiso slurping on her drink already with a dazed look of joy on her face.
The underground hero looked out of place with children, families and teenagers milling around him.
He was sitting at a table by himself with several huge bags from various stores, most of which were very girly in design, signifying everyone's purchases. Seemed like everyone had left their stuff with him. You felt kind of bad but he looked like he didn't care so you suppressed it.
You set down the cups, glancing around the packed food court.
"Where's everybody else?" You asked.
Aizawa gestured to the ramen stands on the opposite side of the food court. "It's close to dinnertime, so they went to go get some food."
On cue, Ashido's stomach rumbled loudly.
"Oops." She grinned, tossing the now empty cup in a nearby trash can. "That's my cue!!"
Your eyes were as wide as saucers. "You finished it already?! It's been two minutes!!"
Flashing you a megawatt smile, she flounced off in another direction, presumably to get some food.
Uncertainly, you sank down in a chair across from Aizawa. Now that you thought about it, you were kind of hungry, but this was normal. All you had to do was not think about it and then the urges would go away.
Eventually.
You really didn't want to ask them to buy you anything, they didn't owe you anything and they've already done so much for you. One day without food wouldn't kill you.
Aizawa could read you better than that.
"Ojiro."
The boy looked up as his teacher called his name.
"She's hungry. Go get some gyūdon for her." Aizawa instructed without batting an eye at your flabbergasted expression.
It would be easy enough on your stomach, since he was sure you lacked the proper nutrients you needed for a girl your age. This would suffice for now until he could come up with a meal plan for you to get adjusted to your new normal. He was not going to have you starve from now on.
Nodding once, Ojiro sped towards where they were selling it but not before his teacher halted him to hand him ¥10,000. His eyes widened as he took in the hefty amount.
He looked mildly uncomfortable. "Aizawa-sensei—"
"Get something for yourself too, I don't care what you choose." Aizawa interrupted swiftly, his hard stare leaving no room for argument. "Make sure it's an appropriate enough meal for dinner though."
As Ojiro left to go hunt down some gyūdon, you swung your legs happily, beaming at the gruff man sitting across from you. His rough exterior and indifferent demeanor hid it well, but you still saw it. That softness in his gaze when he thought no one else was looking. He loved his students.
"Stop that." He said flatly as he caught you staring but you just giggled.
"I can't help it." You countered, resting your chin in the palm of your hand, your ears swiveling easily. "It's cute."
Aizawa snorted at that. "Enough, Y/N."
You conceded but the laughter in your eyes didn't fade and he shook his head, already done with your antics.
You knew exactly how much you were annoying him, which is why you were surprised when he suddenly asked you,
"How are you doing with all of this?"
He scrutinized you closely and your mouth opened and closed, at a loss for words. The possibility of you having done something wrong crossed your mind and your anxiety spiked.
Glancing down, you squeaked. "What do you mean?"
His eyes narrowed at you and you gulped.
Aizawa sighed, running a hand through his hair. He should've phrased it better. He knew by now you were insecure of your place, still figuring things out for yourself. His class had been a culture shock to you.
"How are you adjusting?" He corrected himself quietly, studying your facial expressions.
You contemplated his question before giving your answer.
"I think I'm doing okay," You said slowly, scratching your fluffy ears in thought. "It's been kind of weird having a place to call home and people who actually don't see me as a pet but it's nice."
Aizawa's jaw ticked and he clenched his hand into a fist at your honesty, overcome with the sudden urge to hunt down the Quirk Traffickers right then and there. He was taken aback by such a strong feeling.
The last time he felt something like this was when the League of Villains threatened his students at USJ.
Taking a deep breath, he calmed himself down. He was a pro, he knew how to handle himself better than this.
However, all logic and reasoning fled the instant he saw it.
Aizawa moved faster than you could blink, catching the wrist inching towards your ears in an iron grip and stopped them from making contact.
"Don't touch her." He seethed, warning coming through clear as his eyes flashed red, the pressure on the boy's wrist making it clear that he would snap it if he so much as looked at you again.
As a pro-hero, he wasn't allowed to threaten them with bodily harm, but he couldn't help the anger that bubbled up when the gang of boys tried to lay their filthy hands on you.
"Are you okay?" He asked again but for a different reason than before as security intervened and took over.
You nodded, slightly dazed at how fast it happened.
You hadn't even sensed them behind you, caught up in your conversation with him that you had lost awareness of your surroundings. You felt a bit ashamed of your own helplessness but grateful that he had protected you. Your ears were sensitive and touching them was an intimate gesture reserved only privileged for certain people.
"Do you want to leave?" He asked caringly, eyes concerned, not taking any measures to hide his worry.
You shook your head. You weren't that shaken up. He took care of it before anything even happened. You almost were completely unaffected.
"I'm okay..." You mumbled, fiddling with your hands in your lap as your fingers shook. "Thank you, Aizawa-sensei."
He nodded to you before sinking back down in his chair. You picked up where he left off, asking about his well being. He seemed surprised to hear you ask about him but he answered that he was fine.
You seemed disappointed in his reply but before he could follow it up with a very brief elaboration, you cut him off.
"Do you think anyone will want me?" You asked, tears pricking the corner of your eyes as the more recent development started to catch up to you.
You were sure that if you didn't have these ears and tail that people wouldn't just try to touch you out of nowhere. You were sure that if you had a different quirk, maybe your parents wouldn't have given you up.
"What did I do wrong?" You whispered brokenly.
Aizawa's heart shattered as he heard that. "You didn't do anything wrong, kid."
You sniffled, ears drooping sadly. "But... But if I—"
"It's not your fault that they left, they were shitty parents for leaving you." He interrupted brazenly with a fire that took you aback as he swore in front of you. "You deserve someone better than people who leave at the drop of a hat."
He seemed like he was speaking from experience but you didn't pry further, certain he was already uncomfortable with all your anxiety and insecurities.
"You didn't have to do all of this, you know." The defeat in your small voice made him bristle.
Who the fuck treated you so bad that you didn't expect decent respect and kindness?
"You signed the paper but you don't actually have to do any of the stuff it says." You continued quietly, not noticing how the man across from you was shaking with anger. "I can find another place to stay, you won't have to pay for anything, I can manage on my own. I don't want to be a burden to someone as nice as you."
If he was angry before, he was livid now.
You jumped as he suddenly stood up, chair falling over from the force, drawing the attention of a couple of bystanders.
He strode over to you, crouching down in front of you. The bags piled high on the table obstructed the view for most of the people around you and they begrudgingly went about their business when he glared at them.
You, however, couldn't look away.
"You better listen, kid, because I'm only going to say this once." Aizawa ground out, jaw ticking. "I didn't sign that agreement out of pity. I signed it because I want you to be able to live a life not hindered by fear. I don't want you to have to live looking over your shoulder everyday because you're scared you're being followed, that's why I signed it."
You were at a loss of words by how passionate he was. The emotion cracked his steady tone and betrayed his true state. He was frazzled by your half-conscious words you spewed out, taking them to heart and relating to you on another level entirely.
"Were... were you..." You trailed off.
You couldn't bear to say it.
But he shook his head. "Not Quirk Traffickers. But I was raised by people who weren't exactly kind or the forgiving type."
He didn't divulge anything else and you didn't point it out, knowing he said that to you more for your own benefit rather than your own. Similar to you, he didn't seem like he wanted pity. He said it so that you saw that he understood.
"You're not living out on the streets. I'm not doing any of this because I feel like I have to, I told you, I want to do it." He ran a hand through his hair, sighing. "Look, kid, you might not see it yet, but I actually don't mind taking care of you, okay? If you find someone else you want to live with, that's fine."
You were about to object that you couldn't envision someone caring for you like he had but you couldn't get a word in edgewise.
"I will talk to them first, though, before you go with them." Aizawa continued authoritatively, slipping into da— teacher mode. "If they're unsuited to care for you or if they're criminals then you can't go with them until they prove to me that they can take proper care of you and keep you safe. If you— Why are you laughing?"
You had doubled over in a fit of giggles, tears leaking out of the corner of your eyes as you laughed uncontrollably.
He lifted an eyebrow, unamused. "Kid, what are you doing?"
You bit your lip but your eyes creased, giving your smile away. "I-I can't breathe!!"
It took a couple seconds and several deep breaths but you finally got ahold of yourself and cleared up his confusion.
"It's just... you sound a lot like a dad, or at least, I think that's what a dad sounds like." You tapped a finger to your chin thoughtfully, mulling it over.
You completely missed the way he froze when he heard you say 'dad'.
Swinging your legs, you ducked your head. "I... I know I didn't say this before, and you could definitely say no if you want to!! But, I-I d-don't really want to have anyone else be my guardian."
Aizawa was able to breathe a little bit better after hearing you say that and his eyes softened.
You squeaked as his hand plopped on your head, ruffling your hair and being careful not to knock into your ears.
With great difficulty, he held back a smile. "Alright, kid, we can do that."
Your ears perked up and he gave you a lopsided smile, but the fondness in his gaze was unmistakable. Goodness, he would put away all the villains in the world just to see you this happy.
"Really?!" You practically shouted and he chuckled, not even caring about the dirty looks the two of you were getting as a result of your loud volume.
He shrugged to hide the skip his heart did when you looked up at him so lovingly. "Sure, I'll talk to Principal Nezu later and see if we can work out a more permanent arrangement."
"Adoption?" You asked curiously.
The innocent question sent his heart rate spiking and he nearly choked on air. You had no idea just how bad he wanted to adopt you.
"Don't you want me to foster you first, kid?" He joked but it came out strained.
That was a pretty big decision to make and usually the adult was the one to decide to take on a kid. For you to bring it up so casually caught him off-guard.
You frowned, pouting slightly. Maybe you moved too fast. Obviously, he wanted to see if he could even handle a mutt like you before he even though about adopting you and—
"Stop that."
His sharp command whistled through the noise in your head and you blinked, focusing on his face and wincing at the intensity of his narrowed eyes.
"Whatever you're thinking, I didn't suggest fostering because I don't want to adopt you. I just want you to be sure you want to have me as your... parent." Aizawa finished, unsure if he had earned the right to call himself your dad yet.
He shuffled over to the other end of the table and righted his displaced chair. "You'll turn 18 soon enough and by then you could live on your own if you want."
Ah, there it was.
Your expression cleared. He was worried you wanted him to adopt him only to find out you guys couldn't get along for whatever reason and then up and leave. Whether it was you or him doing the leaving, it would impact you both and he didn't want you to make a mistake you would regret.
Adoption was a serious decision and it wasn't like either one of you could get out of it if it didn't work out.
You weren't completely oblivious. You knew there was a chance of this failing, but you were willing to take this chance and he was willing to accept you into his life more permanently.
To know that he was thinking of you first only sealed the deal.
You swallowed hard. You only had courage to say this once.
"I don't remember my parents or what they were like. I only know what it's like to have friends because Ojiro-kun showed me how. I don't know what to expect when it comes to having a dad to depend on or anything like that." You took a deep breath, growing quieter. "But... I do want someone like that one day."
Even if it didn't come right away. You could wait. You waited an eternity, what was a little longer?
Aizawa nodded, understanding where you were coming from. "Well then, I'll talk it over to Nezu and make sure my adopting you won't affect you getting into UA."
Your jaw dropped to the floor. "What?!"
"Uh huh," He clicked his tongue absentmindedly as he scrolled through his texts on his phone, completely disregarding your shock. "He said you could enroll in the general studies but off the record, you'll be taking hero courses."
They didn't want to attract the traffickers' attention. They would keep you under the radar as much as possible while you attended.
Pocketing the handheld device, leaned back in his seat. "You're a good kid, Y/N."
You beamed at him and he cracked a smile. No matter what you went through, you always seemed to bounce right back. No matter how bleak the darkness was, your light burned even brighter.
One day, you were going to be a force to be reckoned with. He could already see it.
"You'll still have to take the entrance exam." He stated and you nodded eagerly.
"I'll do my best!!" You cheered.
He chuckled, folding his arms over his chest. He had no doubt about it.
By the time Ojiro got back to your table, he was surprised to find you and his teacher conversing as if it was the easiest thing in the universe. He was certain Aizawa didn't have it in him to openly express emotions other than exhaustion.
Well, that and boredom.
Ojiro tilted his head at the two of you in confusion, holding a tray that contained three bowls of steaming hot food. "Did I miss something?"
You bit your lip to suppress a smile and Aizawa raised an eyebrow but neither one of you answered him.
Setting down the tray, he served the food. His gaze fell on your tail, which was happily swishing behind you and he decided that it didn't matter if you didn't want to tell him, he was just glad to see you enjoying yourself.
Your mouth watered when the food was set down in front of you but Aizawa was surprised to find three helpings of gyūdon rather than just two.
Reaching into his pocket, Ojiro pulled out the remaining yen he had stuffed there earlier to his teacher and your eyes went wide.
Similarly, Aizawa's eyes narrowed in suspicion at the amount left. There was no way there should be this much left after buying this much food.
"Ojiro..." He warned with a sharp look, daring him to confirm his suspicions.
The boy had an apologetic look on his face but stood fast. "I used your money to pay for Y/N's but I used mine to buy ours."
Before his teacher could say a word, Ojiro rushed out. "You haven't eaten anything yet so you must be hungry too!! I'm sorry Aizawa-sensei, I just thought—"
Aizawa held up a hand to stop his rambling. He was nearly as bad as Midoriya.
"It's fine. Thank you." The man said curtly, reaching over the table to split a pair of chopsticks for you. "But you're not allowed to do it again."
"But sensei—!!" Ojiro protested.
Aizawa gave him a look that shut him up quickly.
You had been trying to ignore their disagreement. Tension never did sit too well with you and even though you knew that Aizawa wasn't really mad at Ojiro, you couldn't help but flinch at their raised voices.
So when they finally took notice of your unease and quieted down, you could focus all of your attention on satisfying your rumbling tummy.
You stared at the big bowl before you. Rice and beef soaked in aromatic broth had you salivating. Garnished with steamed edamame and a sprig of parsley, the beef bowl almost looked too good to eat.
But it smelled so good.
You were about to take a huge bite when Aizawa firmly instructed you to blow on it first. Pouting, you did as you were told and by the time you did eat it, you didn't burn yourself.
You laughed at him sheepishly as he sent you a knowing glare afterwards, knowing full well that you would have burned your tongue in your eagerness if he didn't stop you.
Kicking your feet happily, you took a sip of bubble tea for the very first time, beaming brightly at the two of them as the sugary drink flooded your taste buds.
You almost poked a hole in the straw with your canines by accident when you bit down in your haste to chew the tapioca pearls.
Ojiro looked on excitedly as you experienced boba for the first time, matching your energy and Aizawa's gaze was soft, fatherly. But he was not going to admit that to either of you.
You wiggled in your seat, vibrating with energy after that meal and the drink that you counted as an unofficial dessert.
Aizawa even ate, begrudgingly, but it still counted since you refused to give up on him.
You were slightly concerned when he still didn't touch his food even after you and Ojiro were almost done with yours. The way he picked at his food disinterestedly was a bit alarming. It was as if he hadn't been doing a good job of taking care of himself.
You frowned as you watched him longer, only for nothing to change.
Aizawa had been startled when you grasped onto his arm, pleading with your eyes for him to eat what Ojiro had so thoughtfully bought for him, saying that you were worried about him. He had tried to shove you off, change the subject or even get Ojiro to pry you off of him, but you persisted.
Finally, Aiawa sighed, giving into your puppy eyes and ate his portion.
You cheered, high-fiving Ojiro, the victory in your eyes not dimming even as he fixated a glare on the two of you.
It lost its potency as you flat out ignored him, giving all of your attention to the blushing tail boy beside you.
Everyone else that came with you to the mall had finished eating faster than the three of you did since they had gotten theirs earlier, so they went looking for you. Imagine their surprise when they saw their teacher laughing for the first time after you cracked a joke.
The girls had gathered around you and you had to admit, while you never had gyūdon before, it was now your favorite food.
You had waited to try the bubble tea until Ojiro got back, unsure which one was yours at the time since they were vastly different in color and you didn't want to accidentally drink the wrong one.
Aizawa was no help since he didn't drink that stuff so you were forced to wait until your friend returned.
Of course, this led to you trying to guess which one Ojiro had intended for you while he was still gone, your guardian looking on in amusement as you went back and forth between the two options. You weren't even trying to make him smile and yet, he couldn't help it.
Aizawa shook his head at you when you had practically pounced on the cup as his student pointed out which one he had ordered for you, his amusement only increasing when you drank it so fast that it almost came out of your nose when something he said made you laugh.
You cried at the uncomfortable sensation, willing it to go away as everyone chuckled at the expression you were making.
Ashido gave you a hug to make it go by faster. But once you could breathe again, a sly smirk crept up her face as Ojiro offered you a sip of his.
You were curious so naturally, you accepted. Only after you took a sip did Ashido crack.
"That counts!!!" She shrieked excitedly, Uraraka and Hagakure squealing alongside her and you were left in the dark.
"Huh?" You squeaked, blinking down at the drink in your hand, wondering if you had done something wrong.
You glanced at Ojiro but he looked just as puzzled as you.
He shrugged at you helplessly, turning to the pink girl practically vibrating in the chair she had stolen. "Mind clueing us in?"
The smile on Ashido's face could only be classified as devious. "YOU KISSED!!!"
It was indirect but it still counted!!! And she was going to milk it for all it was worth.
Ojiro nearly choked on his saliva and you violently coughed, the boba going down the wrong way as she declared it so loud every single one of the surrounding tables heard her.
Aizawa almost fell out of his seat.
Needless to say, for the rest of the time you were there, Ashido wouldn't let it go and relentlessly teased the two of you until you were both cherry red from embarrassment, refusing to look at each other.
But as you filed out of the Kiyashi shopping mall back to the car, his tail crept around your waist to guide you in the dark and you couldn't see it, but his bashful smile matched yours all the way there.

rebellious teenagers |
in which | junhwan and chan sneak out
characters | junhwan miller, seventeen ensemble
word count | 1.4k
circa | oh my!
It’s rare that all fourteen members of Seventeen gather to eat dinner together but after some insistence (read: a lot of bribery and guilting, mostly from Soonyoung and Jun), they all found their way to the living room of the lower floor dorm. A very noisy and chaotic laughter-filled meal ensued, loud voices filing the apartment as the boys wiped clean every dish that Mingyu made with some inexperienced but eager help from Junhwan.
Now, the boys have quieted down, sprawled out in different positions around the living room. All of their attention is on the current conversation.
“No, seriously, what’s the hardest part about being leader?” Soonyoung presses, wanting an honest answer from the eldest member.
“I don’t know, probably talking the company out of insane diets and workout plans,” Seungcheol fumbles for an answer, feeling a little pressured under all his members’ gazes.
Vernon “boo”s his response, earning laughter from the others.
“I don’t know what you all want from me, it’s really not that bad,” Seungcheol says honestly.
“Please, being a single father of thirteen cannot be that easy,” Seungkwan pushes.
“You’re right,” Chan speaks up, “And you’re the problem child.”
Seungkwan gasps in faux hurt as the others laugh.
“At least I’m cool enough to be the problem child,” Seungkwan argues, “You’re a goodie two shoes.”
“Am not!” Chan objects.
“Yeah, you kind of are,” Minghao agrees with Seungkwan.
Upon Chan’s disgruntled expression, Wonwoo pats him on the shoulder, “It’s Junhwan’s influence; don’t stress over it too much.”
That only causes Chan to shoot him a glare. Wonwoo retracts his hand.
“I’m not a goodie two shoes and neither is Junhwan, he’s just mute.”
Chan looks at Junhwan as if asking for backup, but the younger boy stays silent even as most of the others look at him as well. Chan sighs, knowing his point is just being disproven further as Junhwan attempts to hide behind Jeonghan, who coos at him.
Chan doesn’t want to be a “bad kid,” but he also doesn’t want to be a goodie two shoes, no matter how out-of-date the insult it. As the conversation piece is dropped and everyone moves on to talk about something else, a plan begins forming in Chan’s mind, one that could disprove Seungkwan’s outrageous accusation. Now he just has to get Junhwan on board.
“Hyung, I really don’t think this is a good idea,” Junhwan whispers, clinging onto Chan’s shirt.
“Dude, chill,” Chan says, prying Junhwan’s fingers off his sleeve.
Junhwan makes an unhappy noise but doesn’t protest further, relenting to just walking nervously beside Chan. Anxiety is coming off Junhwan is waves as they get further and further away from the apartment building home to Seventeen’s dorm, the dorms they just snuck out of in the middle of the night. Chan is still surprised he managed to pressure Junhwan into coming with him.
“Okay, seriously, relax,” Chan says.
“I can’t,” Junhwan whispers.
“Why are you whispering?”
“I-I don’t know,” Junhwan mumbles. “But, what if something happens?”
“Nothing going to happen,” Chan assures him.
“But-“
“And if something does happen,” Chan cuts him off, “I’m a legal adult now. And I will handle it like an adult.”
“If you’re an adult, then why did we have to sneak out of our rooms like a couple of high schoolers sneaking out for a party?”
Junhwan’s tone hadn’t been snarky; he’d asked it like a genuine question. Which is why Chan just sighs grumpily rather than snapping at him.
“Because you are a high schooler. And the second Jeonghan caught wind of you leaving the dorm he’d demand to come along or make Mingyu come with us or something and then it’d be lame.”
“Mingyu is... lame?”
“No, I just meant-“
Chan sighs again.
“I just thought it’d be fun to go out together late at night without having to worry about the other members texting us and constantly asking where we are.”
“Really? Because I’m pretty sure your initial reasoning was to prove Seungkwan wrong,” Junhwan muses.
This time, he was being snarky.
“My initial reasoning doesn’t concern you!” Chan rounds on him.
Junhwan just laughs, blocking Chan’s hands as he tries to hit him.
Junhwan taps his feet idly on the ground, humming the melody to a song he’d been working on recently. He sips his soda and looks over at where Chan is trying to climb up a slide on the playground they wound up at. Junhwan sits on a swing, a plastic bag holding the trash from the snacks he and Chan had eaten sitting on the ground beside him.
Chan gets about halfway up the slide before his foot slips and he comes sliding back down. He tries again, getting a little farther. When he slips, he grabs onto the sides of the slide and pulls himself the rest of the way up to the top. He turns and triumphantly sits at the top of the slide.
“Chan hyung,” Junhwan calls.
“Yeah?”
“Shouldn’t we head back?”
“We’ve only been out for an hour and a half.”
“I know.”
“What? Are you scared of getting in trouble?”
“Yes.”
Chan laughs, “Fine, let’s head home.”
They head back to the dorms. Chan fills the silence with talk about the new video game a friend of his got him hooked on. Junhwan’s never been a video game person; he prefers books, however lame that must be. He can, however, play a mean game of Candy Crush.
He doesn’t bore Chan by babbling on about the Jane Austen novel his mom sent him last week; she’d said something about reading good English literature even if he’s not attending school in an English-speaking country. He’s sure Chan could care less about the misadventures of Emma Woodhouse.
Junhwan gets off the elevator first and makes it back inside the dorm without making a sound. There are no lights on, just like when he left. It must be around four a.m. now; if no one woke up when he left, no one will back awake now.
He toes his shoes off and carefully begins making his way back toward his bedroom. He freezes when a light is shone at his back. He’s stuck in place for a moment, scared he’s about to be scolded to hell and back. He slowly turns around but can’t tell who is shining their phone flashlight at him.
When whoever caught him sees that he’s being blinded, they lower their phone and place it flat on the kitchen table so the light reflects off the ceiling and around the room. Junhwan realizes it’s only Seokmin eating cereal in the kitchen. They stare at each other for several long moments.
“I won’t tell if you won’t,” Seokmin whispers.
“Deal,” Junhwan agrees.
Seokmin nods and turns his phone light back off. Junhwan continues on his way back into his and Joshua’s room. Moving as slowly and carefully as possible, Junhwan barely even breathes as he changes his jeans out for shorts and climbs into bed. He lays down and tries not to shift too much as he attempts to fall asleep.
“Junhwan?” Joshua asks suddenly into the darkness of the room once Junhwan has settled back into bed.
Junhwan doesn’t show any outward reaction, but his heart rate spikes suddenly as Joshua speaks without warning.
“Yeah?” he asks shakily.
Is Joshua going to get mad at him? Is he going to tell Seungcheol or Jeonghan? Is he going to get Junhwan in trouble? Junhwan can’t handle being in trouble. What if Jeonghan gets mad at him for sneaking out? He doesn’t want Jeonghan to get mad at him. Oh no, this is so bad-
“You didn’t just get some girl pregnant, right?”
Joshua tone is serious but knowing the other American, Junhwan can tell he’s joking.
“No.”
“Used protection?”
“Oh my god,” Junhwan groans embarrassedly. “Chan and I ate chips in a park; I didn’t hook up with anybody.”
Joshua laughs at successfully getting Junhwan flustered, “Dude, I know. You’re too much of a good kid to actually do anything bad.”
“So you won’t tell Jeonghan?” Junhwan asks carefully.
“Nah,” Joshua dismisses his worry and Junhwan breathes a sigh of relief. “I’ll let eating chips in a park at three in the morning slide. Though I can’t promise Seungkwan will also be sworn to secrecy after Chan tells him how you two snuck out tonight.”

I’ll Handle This (4)
In Which Gabriel and Plagg Argue
“I’ll solve all your problems,” Plagg had said. “You just have to agree to it.” A fixed relationship with his father, Lila to stop bothering him, and Ladybug to fall in love with him? Who wouldn’t agree to that?
Except Plagg was the God of Destruction and Chaos and had a more…hands-on approach. Adrien just wants his body back.
Ao3 | FF.net
After the shopping trip, the teens walked back to the school together, and then separated.
“Ugh, walking is exhausting.” Plagg groaned.
“You’re using my muscles, you know.” Adrien spoke, poking out of the pocket. “I don’t usually walk this much, since my bodyguard drives me everywhere.”
“Well, then I’m sure this is good for you.” Plagg stomped in big steps. “But I haven’t used legs since the last time I switched with a wielder, so I get to complain.”
“I think by that logic, you don’t get to complain, because you usually get to float. And not going to lie…it’s pretty sweet.”
“Just wait until you start floating in your sleep, and then you phase through the ceiling and then keep going and end up in space.”
Adrien froze, staring up at his own face from the pocket. “That can happen?”
“Oh yes. Good luck sleeping tonight!”
Not too much longer, Plagg arrived back at the Agreste manor.
He could feel Adrien shaking in his pocket. “What’s up, Bub?”
“My father is going to be waiting for you. I just know it. He’s going to yell and threaten to pull you out of school—“
“What, like he did this morning? Relax. There’s plenty of windows in the mansion.”
But Adrien came spiraling out of the shirt to look Plagg in the eyes. “But I don’t want you to break anymore windows! I don’t want you to make my father angry anymore! You’re hurting him!”
Plagg gave him a hard look. “Is that what you think, Adrien? That your disobedience hurts him?”
“Why else would he be mean? He loves me...”
Plagg reached up and scratched his ears. “Of course he does, kid. But...sometimes, in people like your dad, love isn’t the strongest motivator. I know it is with you. Love is about the only thing that controls you. Your love for your friends, for your family, your city, for Ladybug...that all drives your decisions.”
Adrien was quiet as he agreed.
“But for people like your father, they’re driven by power. They base decisions on what will make them look good and get more respect. He does love you, Adrien, but he wants your unconditional loyalty. He doesn’t want you to question him, or to disagree with him, because you’re his son. He made you, and you’re half of him. So if anyone is to be completely submitted to his will, it’s you.”
Adrien frowned. “I don’t believe that. I think...I think he’s just scared. Of losing me, that is. Like we lost mom. So he keeps me restricted.”
“But he’s always treated you like this, even before you lost your mom.”
Adrien had no argument to that, and just slowly lowered himself into Plagg’s hands.
“Just think about it. I’ll do all the talking, you just listen and see.”
“Okay.”
Plagg tucked him back into the pocket, before approaching the gate and ringing the doorbell.
The camera didn’t even come out, the gate just opened.
It felt like walking into a hell mouth.
Inside, Gabriel stood at the bottom of the stairs, with his arms crossed. Next to him, Nathalie stood with her own arms crossed. And next to her stood Lila, with her arms also crossed.
Plagg couldn’t help but snicker. They looked like three Russian puzzle dolls. Would Lila pop open and show another smaller, angrier creature?
“What’s so funny?” Demanded Gabriel. “Where have you been?”
“Chill man, I was out with my friends.”
“And spending my money?”
“You literally let me spend whatever money I want. I just usually never have anything I want to buy. I treat my friends to a nice lunch and it’s the end of the world?”
Gabriel sniffed, “you obviously can’t see that your so-called ‘friends’ are only hanging around you because of our wealth. I disprove of the company you keep, especially Mr. Lahiffe—“
“Why?”
“You don’t get to question my authority.”
“I’m just honestly curious as to why you don’t like them. I don’t buy stuff for my friends, despite what you think. Nino is a really good friend and a nice person. He doesn’t get in trouble, and his grades are pretty good. So what’s up?”
“I simply don’t care for his plebeian attitude.”
Plagg scoffed. “Plebeian?! Excuse me, what century is this again? Are we nobles or something I didn’t know about?” He pitched his voice high to have a ‘proper’ voice. “Oh yes Martha, we shan’t have our child run around with the rift raft in the fields. He must get a proper education so he may marry his cousin, have a child with three eyes, and die at the ripe old age at 26!”
“Adrien!” Gabriel yelled. “How dare you mock me!”
“Then stop talking like a 17th century noble! We have money, but high society never did anyone favors! You just sound like an old idiot! An old, out of touch, insensitive idiot!” Then he pointed at Lila. “And if you want to talk about people taking advantage of us, why don’t you turn yourself 90 degrees that-a-way to grill this blood sucking parasite.”
“On the contrary,” Gabriel interrupted. “Miss Rossi only has your best interests at heart, which is why she came here and told me all about your little charade you put on during school today. You assaulted your bodyguard!”
“He’s fine.”
“Whether or not he’s fine is beside the point, Adrien. I hired him to protect you, and you attack him?”
“He wasn’t protecting me. He was trying to kidnap me! I wanted to be at school!”
“Well naughty children don’t get to do what they want to do!”
“Do you want me to be happy or stupid?!”
“No! Wait—“
“Ah ha!” Plagg pointed. “You just want me to be miserable!”
Gabriel flared his nostrils. “Stop trying to twist my words. The fact remains that you have been completely out of control these last few days, and I have no choice but to discipline you accordingly. From now on, you will have no contact with these teenagers that are encouraging you to behave like this monster. Instead, you will only be allowed to interact with Miss Rossi at photo shoots.”
Plagg saw the corner of the man’s mouth curve up. Check mate, the gesture said.
Time to take it up a notch.
“I’m not sure the best way to handle this situation, so I’ll handle it the way Chloe would.” He laid down on the floor and began to kick and scream. “DADDY! DADDY I HATE HER! FIRE HER AT ONCE!!”
“If you don’t stop this tantrum this instant, you’re being pulled out of school.”
“Ha!” He laughed, still from the floor. “I’ll just reenroll! I broke one window getting out the first time, there’s not a lock in this earth that can hold me, old man.”
“Adrien, go to your room.”
“Make me.”
“You’re angering me, and you won’t like me when I’m angry.”
“I don’t like you now.”
“This attitude of yours is disrespectful, disgusting, immature, and embarrassing. I raised you better than—“
“Are you done?” Plagg asked, scratching his ear. “Because you just keep talking. That’s all you do. This gaslighting is getting really old. I know I’m acting immature, that’s the whole thing. Pointing it out just makes you look stupid. Are you going to hit me or something?”
“I’m not going to hit you, Adrien.”
“Huh. Didn’t know you had it in you.”
Gabriel frowned. “You really think I would hit you?”
“You’ve already hit emotional and verbal abuse, I assumed that was the next step.”
“I am not abusive! I am strict, but I only have your best interests at heart.”
“Right, like making me schmooze with Miss Sausage Hair here?”
“Hey!” Lila cried.
“Oh shut up, you’re plenty at fault here too.”
“That’s it. Adrien, you’re grounded. No phone, no computer, no tv, no video games, and no school.”
“So you want me to just sit in my room and stare out the window? Or are you going to board those up too?”
“There’s plenty of books for you to read. Books that will hopefully change your mind about this rebellious streak.”
“Until when?”
“Until I say so!”
“Cool. I quit modeling.”
“WHAT!?”
“You heard me. I quit modeling. Or you can fire Lila and unground me. Your choice, Gabe.”
Gabriel ground his teeth as Lila just stood there in shock.
“I’ll give you some time to think about it.” Plagg cracked his neck. “I’ve got homework to do.”
“But—“
“Ah ah ah,” Plagg held up a hand. “Talk to the hand, cause the face ain’t listening.” He skipped up the stairs, and out of the lobby.
Gabriel simmered in rage, feeling the control which had been so firmly in his hands slip away.
“Mr. Agreste—“ Lila began.
“No.” He interrupted. “I need some time to think. Keep your eye on Adrien and let me know exactly what he’s up to, who he’s with, what he’s doing. You do this, and I will reward you greatly.”
“Of course, Mr. Agreste.”
—
As soon as Plagg closed the bedroom door, Adrien spiraled out of his pocket.
“Hey kid, I know that was rough...”
“Rough?! No kidding! You’re a monster! How could you talk to my father like that!? How could you insinuate that he would hit me? And you got me grounded and pulled from school! You quit modeling!”
“Honestly Adrien, I thought he might hit me. His anger reflects violence. You see it too.”
Adrien rubbed his paws over his cheeks, trying to stop the tears.
“Come on kid, it’s for the best.” And he reached out for him.
But Adrien darted away. “I’m going to see Tikki! I need comfort from someone that’s not trying to ruin my life!”
Before Plagg could protest, Adrien had flitted out the window and into the streets.
The sun was setting, and traffic was dwindling, as working folks made their way home.
Finding Marinette’s house was a matter of finding the school, and then going from there, while sticking to the shadows and staying high enough away from straying eyes.
When he reached her balcony, he loitered at the window, trying to figure out how to phase in. Then he wondered if he should even bother. Tikki might scold him for leaving Plagg. Or maybe she’d laugh at him for being upset. She was millennia old too. His problems probably would sound trivial to her as well.
Eventually, he just knocked.
Marinette answered, a grave look on her face. “Plagg? What’s wrong? Why are you crying? Is Chat okay?”
“He’s fine.” Adrien sniffed. “Can I talk to Tikki please?”
Shocked by his politeness and shy demeanor, she blinked twice and answered, “Uh, sure.”
Tikki appeared then, looking at him with concerned eyes.
“I’ll just leave you two alone then,” Marinette stated, closing the window.
“Adrien? What’s wrong?”
It all came out of him then. “He’s a monster!” Adrien blubbered. “He’s ruining everything and making it all worse! I don’t know how to stop him! But my father is done with me and is going to pull me out of school! Plagg keeps acting like it’s no big deal, but he doesn’t understand! He’s just treating this like a big game!”
To his relief, Tikki hugged him tightly. “Oh Adrien. Plagg means well, I promise. His methods don’t make much sense, but they do produce results. It’ll be alright.”
Adrien just sniffed, taking comfort from the hug. “I feel so helpless. I can’t do anything without outing myself as Chat Noir, and that’s the last thing I need...unless Plagg beats me to it. I know everyone is suspicious of him. This is a nightmare.”
“I’ll talk to him when I get a chance,” promised Tikki. “He does mean well, I promise. But this is your life, and making you watch him work is torture.”
“Exactly! Tikki you understand! If he does pull this off, I will thank him, but like...what if it doesn’t work? He acts like humans are so predictable and easy to manipulate, but even with all his life and experiences, he can’t account for everything. I’m worried he’s being too cocky.”
Tikki petted his head. “Plagg can get over his head sometimes. He’s lazy and stubborn, but that just makes him ridiculously creative. Some of his attempts may fail, but I really think you just have to trust that he’s in control.”
“I know, I know, and in my head, I know he’s doing this for me. I know he doesn’t want to be in my body, and I know he’s crazy smart…but I feel…betrayed? Scared? I don’t know what I’m feeling.”
“Unstable.” Tikki provided. “Because you have no control over your life.”
He frowned, holding onto his tail.
“But, from what Plagg has told me, you didn’t have much control of it before either.”
He rubbed a paw against his cheek. “Sadly, no. I didn’t.”
The trap door opened again, and Marinette peeked her head out. She placed a plate with a cheese danish on it on the ground nearby. “Anything I can do?”
Tikki answered for him, only slightly lying, “sometimes Plagg gets emotional when he thinks about past holders that we lost tragically. He said Chat was busy and he didn’t want to bother him.”
“Oh Plagg, I’m so sorry.”
Adrien rubbed his eyes with his paws again. He may not be in his body, but he did feel a little embarrassed to be crying in front of his crush.
“Say Marinette, now that you’re the guardian, it would be really helpful if you could comfort him.”
“Me? I...I guess. What do I do?”
“Just do what feels right.”
Adrien floated a little closer to her, desperate for her affection, but hesitant to take it for himself.
She cupped him in her hands, cradling him, holding him, cocooning him with her skin. She brought him up to her face, leaving a lingering kiss right between his ears, then caressed him to her cheek, her fingers encircling him in a hug.
A stray finger itched the back of his head, sending tingles all the way down to his tail and making him purr.
This was heavenly. Her scent surrounded him, dulling his senses and calming his tears.
“It’s okay.” She said softly. “It’s alright to be sad. Things will get better.”
Her words soothed the day's pain, and he really did feel more optimistic. He could do anything with Ladybug’s support.
Finally, he pressed a little kiss to her cheek and allowed her to pull away. “Thank you Marinette. I do feel a lot better now.”
Her smile was so warm and so wonderful, he could stare at her all day.
But an Akuma alert had to go and ruin the whole thing.
“You better get back to Chat! If you need more comfort, come back tonight after patrol!”
“Thanks Marinette! Save that Danish for me!” And he rushed off back to the mansion.

Terushima and Kyoutani with a chaotic fem! s/o
requested: Could I request headcanons for terushima and kyoutani with a s/o who has bad girl vibes like them (you can do it gender neutral if you prefer it) and when they're together they always make a mess but literally everybody adore them because they look super cute and chaotic at the same time
Sorry, this is a little short but I still tried my best oh well
Also requests are open guys!
Yuuji Terushima:
omg are you kidding me y’all are so energetic together everyone around you feels exhausted just looking at you
Literally love at first sight! He just saw you and was like *wow*, completely overwhelmed by your appearance and when your personalities matched up he could already hear wedding bells ringing in his head
He’s head over heels for you, shows you off to everyone, literally every single person he comes across and it’s cute but annoying lol
He also can’t ever say no to you, not matter how dumb your idea is, count him in! You do the most irresponsible things together like breaking into the pool of the swimming club at night. When you got caught they immediately called his teams manager and coach to scold you but when they saw how you two sat there together - both draped in a towel, one of his arms laid across your shoulders, pulling you close to him to warm you up as your head lay on his shoulder - they just couldn’t help but coo a little.
So y’all get through with the wildest stuff because in the end you’re just teenagers who do dumb things occasionally. You also understand that what you did was wrong so people tend to just brush things under the carpet because everyone does dumb things when they’re young and in love! Which you clearly are!
You also 100% support his volleyball team and sometimes help out Misaki with manager things. Even though sometimes you support the teams dumb ideas of doing irresponsible attacks and serves, but you just mean well and Terushima is also more focused when you’re at his games!
Kentaro Kyoutani:
Most intimidating couple of the school ngl
NO ONE dares to approach you both in the school hallways or at lunch (only Oikawa is dumb enough to try, my poor babyboy)
But he actually has a soft spot for you! Everyone just sees your cold demeanor and unbothered face and your rebellious attitude but to him you’re the biggest angel on earth! His babygirl! His cutiepie! He sees a golden glow when he looks at you! Cute!!!
Even though he should know better he occasionally joins in on your dumb ideas, like playing weird pranks on the volleyball team! You once came to the gym early and placed cups filled with water all over the floor so one couldn’t move properly. The team hated it! Oikawa strutted in and made a mess of the whole gymnasium and you two just sat there and laughed your asses off.
Iwaizumi was ready to scold your asses to hell after they spent the whole afternoon cleaning up but Oikawa held him back when he saw how cute you looked together. Kyoutani had an arm wrapped around your waist as you were still laughing about the whole situation, pressing your face to his chest so the sounds you made would be muffled. His other hand was gently patting your hair and oh my god - he was actually smiling. A normal, happy, cute smile. Iwaizumi is so astonished that he forgets about the lecture he was about to give you.
When you come along to games Kyoutani plays even more wild and the team doesn’t know what to think about it. He scores more points but also makes more mistakes. Still, he’s so happy when you jump into his arms when they win a game, they’re kinda weak for the both of you.

butterfly (nakamoto yuta)
Summary: when your secret tattoo is discovered and you're scolded during dance practice, the nice Japanese boy group trainee can't help but interfere.
Genre: fluff, hurt/comfort
Pairing: trainee!yuta x trainee!reader
Word count: 1.9k
Author’s note: trigger warning! unwanted touching? also, we all know that yuta respects women af so i thought this would just be something he’s probably done
“and uh 5, 6, 7, 8.”
“smoother movements, people.”
“y/n, you’re late on the third count.
“one more time from the top.”
“y/n, fix your left arm.”
“last time from the top.”
It was just another day in the practice room, preparing for your next dance evaluation, but today’s practice felt a little harder than usual. Maybe it was the fact that it was over ninety degrees outside (a typical summer day in Korea), or the fact that you were wearing a fairly thick T-shirt with long sweats that were made for chilly weather.
When you woke up from your nap two hours earlier, you had completely forgotten about the group dance practice scheduled in ten minutes, and grabbed whatever clothes you saw first in your closet before dashing to the practice room, where your trainee friends were already warming up with the teacher.
“Ok, 10-minute break. Get some water and come back ready to clean up your moves.” said the instructor, Mr. Kim.
The trainees scattered from the center of the room, with some girls leaving to stop by the water fountain, some guys grabbing a towel to wipe their sweat, and some just plopping down on the floor to catch their breath.
“It’s so hot, Jiwoo. I think I might faint from heat exhaustion,” you tell your friends. Like you, Jiwoo has been training under SM for the past two years. Though make and female trainees were often divided during the training process, today, all trainees, both male and female, were learning the same hip-hop routine for the monthly evaluation.
“It's not that hot though? Maybe it's because you're wearing fleece sweats. Y/n, you really are going to pass out if you keep wearing that. I have extra shorts that you can wear.” Jiwoo pulls out a pair of black athletic shorts from her duffel bag and hands them to you.
“Really? Oh my god, Jiwoo, I don't know what I would do without you.” You take them from her, standing up. “I'll be back, I'm going to go change.”
--
The shorts definitely helped with the heat, but Jiwoo’s size and proportions were a little off from yours. She was a little shorter than you, which made the shorts barely reach halfway to your knee, yet the shorts were a little loose around your thighs, allowing the fabric to fly up each time you squatted or jumped. Nevertheless, it was better to show some skin than pass out from heat exhaustion.
Still, you didn't want the male trainees to see anything that you didn't want them to. And in particular, you didn't want anyone to see the tattoo on your inner thigh.
Not only were tattoos considered ugly and immature, but they were also a nuisance to makeup artists and stylists. Just knowing that you had an inked design on your body would make you less eligible to debut.
So to prevent the shorts from rising up and revealing your tattoo, you put less energy into the jumps, but this compromised the appearance of the performance.
“Ok, everyone stop,” said Mr. Kim. “Y/n, why are you jumping like a half dead frog? At this part, everyone needs to jump up like a spring, a slinky! You're a rusty wire right now, fix it.”
“Sorry, Mr. Kim. I’ll do better.”
In the next rounds of dancing, you decided to put your all into it, fearing a scolding from the teacher. Hopefully, no one would pay attention to you enough to notice what was under your shorts.
“From the top to the second jump,” Mr. Kim ordered.
1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-jump. 1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-jump. You counted in your head, focusing on only the dance and your movements.
1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-jump. 1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-jump. In this moment, you only noticed yourself, your swaying motions, your posture, your expressions.
1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-jump. 1-2-
“STOP!” Mr. Kim roared.
Everyone's eyes widened, unsure if they were the ones going to be scolded. At this point, it had been a longer practice than usual, and as practice dragged on, Mr. Kim’s mood and tolerance dwindled exponentially.
“Y/n. Step up.”
Your heart suddenly began pounding a mile a minute. What did you do wrong? You could have sworn your movements were perfect. You stepped forward from the grid formation, to the front of the class with your back facing them. In the mirror, you saw your fearful face in front of all the other trainee’s wide eyes and pitiful stares.
“Y/n. What is this?” Mr. Kim pointed to your right inner thigh, right where the fabric of the shorts ended and revealed a black mark on your skin. “Lift up your shorts.”
With shaking fingers, you slightly pull up the edge of the shorts to reveal a small inked butterfly on your thigh, just a few inches wide. In your peripheral vision, you could see the other trainees, sending looks of surprise? shock? confusion? to each other.
“Y/n……” the edge of Mr. Kim’s lips slid upward, almost laughing in your face to mock you. “You've been messing up all day and now this. You really continue to surprise me.”
He pulled up the edge of the shorts once more to get a glimpse of your tattoo, his foreign touch on your thigh making you flinch.
“If you're going to be a rebellious bitch and get a tattoo, at least make it creative!” He laughed. “A butterfly?”
At this point, you looked down at your feet in the mirror’s reflection, too embarrassed to face how the other trainees were looking at you. You blinked quickly to prevent any tears from falling. Would you have to get the tattoo removed to keep training? Or worse, would you maybe even be kicked out? Having a tattoo was one thing, but you had been causing some trouble during today's practice with your mistakes.
Mr. Kim’s scolding continued in the back of your mind, but you tuned it out with the clouded thoughts of what might happen to you. You were brought back to the current situation when Mr. Kim’s hands pulled up your shorts again to see the tattoo, this time a little too high, revealing a sliver of your black underwear. You took a step back.
“Hey!” A new body appeared in your field of vision, pushing away Mr. Kim’s hand and stepping in between you and the teacher with his y'all figure.
“M-mr. Kim,” you started.
“Hah, look at this-this,” Mr. Kim didn't know where to start with cursing you. “Y/n, you're dismissed. Leave now. Yuta, get out of my way and go back to your position.”
It took a minute for you to process Mr. Kim’s words. Dismissed from practice? Dismissed from the monthly evaluation? Dismissed from the training you had put the past two years of your life into and given up academics and friends and good food for? With all these thoughts in your mind, you couldn't help but let some tears slide down your cheek as you left the room and went into the hallway. You couldn't even hear the roaring voice of another teenager behind you.
“You can't touch her like that! That's not-"
--
Sitting in an empty recording room, you couldn’t help but let the tears run down your face.
You had worked so hard for so long to get to where you were, and you might have just lost it all because of a stupid butterfly tattoo you thought would be cute a year ago. In your head, you could only hear the sound of your own crying and the troublesome thoughts plaguing your mind.
A boy sat next beside you. Looking at you through his straight blond bangs, he says, “Sorry about what happened to you back there. That wasn't cool at all.”
You try to even your breathing and control your tears for a moment to respond. “Thanks, but it wasn't your fault so you don't need to apologize. Why are you here? Aren't you going to get in trouble for leaving practice?”
“Well, I just didn't think it was fair for you to be treated like that back there,” the boy says, looking down at his feet. “I-I wanted to see if you were ok. Oh, and I'm Yuta by the way. Nakamoto Yuta. Nice to meet you.” He offers a hand to shake, and you grasp it weakly to give it a friendly shake.
“I'm y/n,” you say in an almost silent whisper. “You should go back. One dismissed trainee is enough.”
“No, I'll stay here until you stop crying,” Yuta declares firmly. “I-I just really think it was so unfair for you to go through that. It's so dumb, like honestly, it's just a tattoo! It's no different from… from me wearing this earring or choosing to have blond hair!” He says, readjusting the beanie around his bangs.
After a moment of silence and looking down at your shoes, your sweaty legs and tired ankles, Yuta gently breaks the silence.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
You hesitate for a moment, wondering if it will be burdensome to release your tensions and worries into this stranger you've just met today. However, his aura radiates a warm, welcoming feeling, like a close friend you've reunited with after a long time.
“I just… I just did so much to get here. I don’t think I can live with myself if this is what gets me kicked out.” Your mind reverts back to flashbacks of all the meals you skipped, tears you cried, hours you danced, and sleepless nights you had dedicated to your journey to debut. To throw that all to waste over sweating a little too hard and changing pants at dance practice -- it would be a burden you would not be able to live with.
Coming to terms with the tragic future you’ve set up for yourself, a tear slips from your eye down onto your shoes, not going unnoticed by Yuta.
“Hey, hey, y/n, look at me,” he says.
You look up to him from under your tear-stained eyelashes, meeting his honey-like gaze.
“You’re not going to get kicked out. It’s gonna be ok,” he says, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and squeezing it comfortingly before sharply retracting his arm.
“S-sorry, I… is it ok if I put my arm here?” He asks.
You nod, leaning into his touch and putting your head on his shoulder.
You sit together for a while like that, without exchanging any words. Though he doesn’t say anything besides softly rubbing circles into your shoulder, Yuta’s mere presence and the warmth radiating from his body brings you a sense of consolation.
“I think it’s cute,” Yuta says, after what feels like ten or fifteen minutes of silence.
“Hm?” you say.
“The butterfly,” he explains. “I think it’s cute. Don’t listen to what others say about it. I think it’s really cute.”
“Thanks. It’s supposed to represent, like, hope and endurance,” you say. “I got it a few months into training because it was a difficult time for me. So whenever I mess up, I just look at it and think about…. I guess, I remind myself to keep going.”
Yuta nods, processing the symbolism of it and how much it must’ve meant to you. “I’ll be your butterfly,” he chimes in quietly.
“Huh?
“You’re going to keep training here with me. I’m not going to let you quit now.”
Though his words sound motivational, you wonder, what power does he have over this? Well, whatever happens, you’re glad you were able to make a new friend. Little do you know that Yuta’s father has some... connections with the company.
