Super easy, like, she's already laughing level of easy! You haven't said anything. It's like resting bitch face except she has resting smiling face and honestly if she feels even a little bit happy it's not unusual to see her smile or laugh.

[Arjun] ★ 28. Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth? 

It's funny you ask that because he's the liar of the group. No malicious lies but he finds it easier to go with that rather than honesty. If he doesn't know a person especially, he will just lie if it pleases them. People pleaser detected. If it's a closer one he's more likely to tell them his honest opinion about things that might hurt them if he doesn't.

[Ceto] ★ 37. Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, or things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)? 

Hmmm, I've never thought of that. He strikes me as a very visual memory type of fella, like he'll look at something for a bit, repeat it to himself and he'll remember it until it's useless information. You know when you memorize exactly where a sentence starts and finishes in a book, and once you change the book you get confused? Something like that. Fun fact though, if it's a person important to have striked, he names his snakes after them to never forget them.

[Krys] ★ 14. What animal do they fear most?

Pigeons, I've just decided. Even worse if it's a full-on flock of them. Keep them away from him. Thankfully if it's one or two he'll just eye them suspiciously and there aren't that many around the city. Rather than fear he'd like to have nothing to do with them.

[Sorrel] ★ 18. What embarrasses them?

AGAIN, FUNNY YOU ASK THAT, because he's usually the one to roast the people and make fun of them. If Krys makes sure he won't get hit first, this man will not care, if you're doing something cringe he'll call you out on it. Which is why he does get embarrassed if he catches himself doing something "awfully nice", don't you worry though, if you try to call him out on it he'll retaliate immediately, I don't know where he stores all his comebacks.

★C. Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?

I'll just answer for the ones you asked about.

Rim's the mc so she was pretty much the one driving the plot. Ceto was made to be her "guide" character and then along the way I took out some elements out of him to make Arjun, so OG Ceto is a bit different personality-wise. Those 3 with Louise are the main four.

KRYS AND SORREL THOUGH, obviously any young one I make will just be a student at the university setting I have, but getting them to be relevant story-wise took a bit of doodling, thinking joking around with @ri-cakes before taking those jokes seriously. So even if these two aren't directly plot-related, they're gonna be helpful in including them with subtle details.

White Sheep Covers

Here are the book covers for the upcoming White Sheep series! As the covers say, this series will be available on AO3, Quotev, Tumblr (hopefully idk how links work yet) & Wattpad!

I've completed about half of the first chapter, now, and should have it completed by... April 28th? I have a thing about posting on Fridays, and considering this is being posted on a Thursday... I'd need to get superspeed to pull that off. Or be alone for the next 24 hours...

jaehyun spent all week preparing for your birthday. he planned a schedule months ago to follow automatically when the week hit. he got home he freshened up, ate dinner with you, and did couple things before laying in bed with you cuddling. the second your breathing slowed down and he felt your body relax he reluctantly got out of bed scowling once the warmth of your body wasnt against his, he debating getting back in bed but jaehyun knew he’d risk sleep and comfort to make you feel special anyday

quietly he left the room and went outside to the mailbox (not the safest opinion but he didnt care) he grabbed the packages that he ordered and brought them inside to the living room. then he grabbed the boxes from the shoe closet that he knew you never checked and piled them ontop of the boxes. jaehyun stared at the pile and huffed wondering where to start, he supposed he could start off with the balloons

jaehyun was wrong.

he was currently huffing and puffing on the floor red because the balloon blower that he bought required batteries and it was currently 2:58 am and no stores were open. he sat there looking defeated but kept blowing up the balloons

by the time he was finished the sun rose already, but he got the hard part over (and missing tanks of air from his lungs)

he continued decorating your guys living room and dining table. he put a banner that said “happy birthday” up so as soon ws you walk out of the room you can see it, a stream of ribbon above the entry way of your door so when you step out you see the pretty color, and last but not least confetti and flower petals that leave a trail from the room to the living room and some confetti and flower petals on the dining table of course

staring at the decorated house satisfied jaehyun quietly made it to your guys room and freshened up and changed into the outfit he knew you loved on him before he went to the bakery to pick up your cake and gifts that he stored at taesans home. he looked over at the cake as he drove smiling cause he knew youd love it

when he got home he laid your gifts on the counter neatly and took the cake out of the box as he held a party popper

walking to your guys room he quietly opened it and smiled at your peaceful state. almost feeling bad that he was gonna wake you up he gently caress your cheek causing you to flutter your eyes open. he pops the popper making you fully wake up this time, jaehyun saw the shock on your face from the cake and smiled

His large hands cup your cheeks and you sway a little, feeling light headed. 

You can’t tell if it’s the alcohol or his warm, rough hands. “Congratulations, agent,” he hums, grinning and pretending like he can’t see how open and desperate your expression is. “But I think it’s time to get outta here.” 

He picks you up easily, your legs and arms wrapping around him as his hand rests on the delicious curve of your ass. But you don’t think anything of it, even when Brock needlessly adjusts your position, fingers brushing the seam of your jeans. 

Brock gets you into his car with no problems, you wonderfully pliant and happy to follow his instructions. 

You might have drifted off for the drive home because it seems like in only the blink of an eye the car has come to a stop in an enclosed parking lot. “I worry about leaving ya alone like this so you can have my room, I’ll sleep on the couch.” He breezes past any protests by hauling you out of his car and into his side as you stumble a few steps. 

His apartment is warm as he gets you through the door and helps you lean against the wall. You hastily grab his shoulder when he’s crouching and carefully removing your tired feet from the heels you decided to try out for the night. When he looks up at you from between your legs, heat rushes to your cheeks and you might think it had some kind of purpose but your brain is slow and Brock is on his feet again, kicking his own shoes off as he leads you to his room.

You sit on the bed with a soft thump as your legs realise they can finally give up their task for the night. Brock is flicking through his wardrobe and turns to toss a loose t-shirt and shorts. “Hope these are good enough for our new agent,” he teases with a grin and you nod with a soft laugh. “You think you can get changed by yourself, sweetheart?”

More heat tingles against your cheeks as you nod and put the flung clothes to one side. You barely wait for him to turn away before you’re pulling off your favourite top. It catches on your yawn and you giggle again, managing to free yourself with a few grunts. 

“That sounded pretty tough, you sure you don’t need my help?”

“No - no I’m good!” You assure him in a determined voice that is way too loud for the two feet he’s stood away from you but his chuckle is amused and you get his spare t-shirt on much more easily. Next are the shorts but given that your legs gave up about a minute ago, you flop back on the bed unceremoniously and lift your hips to get the jeans over your ass and kicked off the rest of the way. His shorts go on with one more jut of your hips to pull them in place and this time you stay laid back on the bed. “I did it!” You declare - like you just solved complicated algebra. 

Rumlow laughs as he turns, giving you a playful eyeroll to hide the way he drinks you in. “Real cute, agent. You gonna get under those covers or do I gotta tuck you in?” 

Your embarrassment fuels you as you scramble back and manage to get under the duvet, pulling it back down to cover you. Only to find Brock leaning over you, so dangerously close you think he might kiss you.

He brushes a kiss to your forehead and wishes you goodnight, knowing he leaves you a frustrated and tipsy mess.

WIP Wednesday! (i'll make a banner eventually)

this will be horribly formatted because i never post on here but it's okay... trust

i'm still working on Love. Again. !!! keep your eyes peeled for more time travel (not really) shenanigans, it's just taking awhile because i posted the first chapter without a plot. and the plotting doc is like 7 pages long. help. (it's got hilarious jokes on it so i'll probably lean into that in the fic)

in the meantime i've currently been cooking up a WIP that is near and dear to my heart. it's based on my personal struggles but no fear it shall be posted eventually. hopefully it isn't too out of character for simon, but some of the lines i've written are in WS or AWTWB which made me laugh. it is also my stream of consciousness, so perhaps i'm just simon reincarnate

here's a snippet of what i've written so far (will be posted in a couple weeks) (hopefully a oneshot) (also simon pov)

“Hey, babe.” I say, knocking on the door frame. He still has his arm over his eyes. “You’re back? I thought you’d be gone by now. Like you have every time.” He’s frustrated. I can’t help but be angry that he’s mad. Why is he allowed to be mad when he’s the one who touched me like that?  I don’t reply. He continues anyway. “You know you bait me every time. I can’t take it Simon. You can’t act like you want to be here all the time, you can barely keep your hands off of me, but the second we do anything other than just cuddling, you leave. And it’s always my fault. Penelope on her way?” He’s got such a horrible tone. I back off.  “She is.” He goes through this every time. I can’t do it. If I’m not good enough for him, I’ll lean into it.

it will be horribly angsty. i'm just trying so hard not to post it already haha, trying to make it a one shot.

Submitting a map, best practice; a masterpost

I thought I'd make a styleguide and masterpost for how to submit a map!

On backups: First things first, take a video of the result as a backup. Load the code, skip to the end, see the funny cephalopods dance and hold in the screen capture button. If an update ruins your code, this backup will live on until you delete it. I take the video right away instead of watching a replay and take the screens from that video recording where I can pause and scrub for the frame I want.

1st preference: I love receiving your codes; I'll do all the work for you! Please also make a backup via video capture because updates kill your match codes (learned this the hard way). You can go to the terminal in the lobby and save a game to recieve its code!

The splatoon font is utterly incomprehensible, so please make a backup screenshot of the code; if you typo and then play too many matches, you can lose the code and with it the map. this happens more than you think and it's sad to not be able to feature your map!

On codes: Codes can be generated from any of your last 50 matches, "no-contests" included, and remain available until a patch breaks continuity. Once you have a code, it's saved and you can play as much as you want right away, play 60 more matches and your code persists! Patches can take us by surprise, however, so please prepare a backup.

Second preference; If you're the kind of person who wants to submit screenshots, remember that you need to submit two!

The "question" image should be a clean image of the map, before it is obscured by the handsome judges. This one is easy to grab because the map is displayed for about 3 seconds. This should not be the mid-match map.

The "answer" image should be after the splash of the colliding ink, but before the banner drops. This can be a little tricky to pin down unless you're taking the capture from a video capture. This is very difficult to grab from a twitter video because you cannot pause the video without the video controls being overlayed, but easy on switch where you can track, pause and save the frame as a screenshot.

For Splatfests, if you want to include the vicory or defeat message becasue it's a multiplier battle, feel free to keep it included.

Some advice: Lil Judd and I like to curate interesting and close maps, especially ones that have you scratching your head: to this end, please also submit interesting losses too, noone is thinking less of you for it, we are not @squids-posting-their-ws. It's no fun if you can guess the answer, just because it's a submitted map.

Finally; A video capture (hold in the screenshot button) of the results screen is also a valid option. You can upload the video somewhere manually, such as to youtube. It is no longer possible to upload directly to twitter from your switch so you'll either need to read the information from your SD card, download your video, or by connecting to your switch.

It helps out if you trim your clip: best practice is to have the clip start at the black screen before the map is shown, and end after the banner has come down, but before the players are displayed.

Asks and messages are open! If your messages are open, too, I'll let you know when I've queued your map so long as I have the spoons (as in, when your map enters the hopper, I have a lot of maps and am not sure when it will be seen, but it will be!). To be able to post properly, the blog can't accept submissions via the tumblr submission section; strange, I know.

I make a note of your blog name, for credit purposes, when I queue the map, so if you change your blog name between submission and posting, I might have diffculty crediting you.

This is a picture of HALF of the ballroom at the RT Book Lovers Convention signing. If you've ever been, you can hear this picture. It was loud.

Banners, balloons, anything to try to make it easier to navigate and find the authors you wanted to meet. But wow, it was so fun.

One year, when YA became a Major Thing, RT invited a bunch of massively popular YA authors, including Z Brewer. I met a young person who had come with their mom from HOURS away, solely to meet Z, but couldn't find them.

Being in the Bs was about as good as being in Ws (end of the room, so lots of AC and room to breathe) and it was not difficult to lead them to Z's table.

Where this young person promptly levitated off the ground in shock and excitement and could barely speak two words, when two minutes prior they'd been chatting with me about every single character in every single book Brewer had written so far.

Z signed a piece of swag (they were way, way sold out of books but still there to meet readers because Z @zbrewer is awesome) and I think this young person may have floated all the way to the car.

The thing I miss most about RT is the reader excitement, whether it was young people or not-so-young people like me. Meeting authors and having that moment of being able to say thanks for a book that rocked our worlds was an entirely unique energy, and I miss that part of the conference most of all.

That, and the part afterward where once you walked out of the book signing, you'd find people on every sofa, every chair, tucked into corners and hiding beneath stairs, just everywhere reading the books they just brought. It was like grown up Drop Everything and Read time.
