With all the thoughtfulness with which Sukuna is trying to shrink Megumi's soul and kill his will to live under the pressure of having blood on his hands and guilt on his conscience, i think Sukuna is still under the influence of Yuuji's thought process. It has been clearly pointed out in a number of acts that Megumi does not want to make himself a hero. He saves who he can; who he wants. He kills those who are necessary sacrifices. He is not disturbed by meaningless guilt. The way Sukuna is trying to twist is mind is still very tuned to Itadori and I feel Megumi will be above all of this. Especially since he can hear what Sukuna thinks. It might rattle him up a bit, a bit, because he's still a person who saves people, who has never seen his divine dogs kill any innocent, but he will not shrink down because he just does not think the way Itadori does.

thinking about the relationship between mightily oats' "the worthwhile [words] don't burn" and constable dorfl's "the words in the heart cannot be taken"

#especially the journey both of them had to go through to get to the point of saying that. like the whole of carpe jugulum oats was so TORN #and before that too about what words could you believe and who could you really trust on their word about om and the prophets and he went #out of his way to look up records disproving what the book of om said bc he KNEW nothing they said could be believed and just all the pain #and all that doubt he went thru and the part where he questioned om's 'infinite compassion' as he prayed bc really what compassion?#how many people prayed at the stake just like he was doing in that moment? how many people had to live with the silence of their god just #like he did? but still when his book of om – that he clung to the whole book for reassurance – burned he said the worthily words don't burn #the worthily words are in the heart and in the mind and not feed into his mouth by old man who just #made things up to justify their actions. he had all the words he needded the whole time and holiness was always all around him. he just had #to look #and dorfl being created with words in his head that dictated his every move . words that chained him. then he and the other golems created #'king' for themselves in the hope he'd lead them to freedom but they put too many words in his head and he failed and carrot gave dorfl his #own freedom and his own words and that lead to dorfl destroying his well child basically and destroying himself in the process but the word #in his heart his OWN words remained and they were able to rebuilt him and vimes give him a voice and his words and belief remained in him b #they were always his #god. sorry for the ramble im severally unwell about them #mightily oats #constable dorfl #carpe jugulum #feet of clay #gnu terry pratchett #discworld

Every day I am haunted by the fact JJK could be amazing but it will be just idk Bleach or something

#I've seen a lot of people complaining about the fact that it's impossible to fit the ending of every unfinished arc #in the five chapters that remain for the manga to end for good #And it all just... legitimises my fear and apprehension haha #And it's a pity! It's a pity! The dynamics were so good! And yet nothing! Sukuna was so good! And yet nothing!#It was so nice how he seemed to play with the idea of transcending human categories and values but even the values of curses so to speak #Well beyond everything. Well beyond positive/creative nihilism even! He was not like Mahito #I wonder if Mahito is more a negative nihilism with a funny edge or a positive nihilism. For now it seems positive #with how he seems to have said something like 'nothing matters so we can do whatever we want and create what matters'#But Sukuna transcends all that! It could have been interesting to see how that developed in a way that wasn't just childish edginess #But no. And then there's all the idea of curses and sorcerers not being all that different #and so not really entirely possible to say one side is good and the other bad #There was the idea of the very source of powers with fear and love playing a role here in such a juicy way #And then there's the entire thing happening with Gojo as a concept and the very concepts he plays with which I could eat like an apple #but also I would let those very concepts eat at my heart as a worm inside an apple #Full of holes and rotting inside out and yet delighting at the sweetness #It could all be so good! And yet! Most of the manga is a few sketched dynamics and concepts and a very long fight with Sukuna #promising half finished arcs #WHY it could have been so good. And I don't think criticism is a matter of 'fans being spoiled! Go write your story!' or something #It's not a matter of things not going as fans would want them to be. It's a matter of not writing well #or cohesively things established by the author themselves. And I think that's a fair criticism #If we are to take manga as an art‚ which I wholeheartedly support‚#then we can subject mangas to artistic or literary or whatever you want to call it analysis. There are works that are better constructed #than others‚ and there are works that have good ideas but poor execution. And it's always a pity #In the case of JJK it's truly breaking my heart and the comments I see around about these five last chapters are not helping xD #God it could be so good. So good. And I'm not talking about in specific to me‚ which yes that too given the topics‚#but just so good in general. It could be so good. It could have been so good #And yet it's starting to look more and more like any other shonen. It truly breaks my heart haha #I talk too much #Jujutsu Kaisen #I used Bleach because I think that's one of the mangas that has been the most a let down to the friends I have who like shonen

AND WE'RE JUST GONNA MOVE PAST THAT????????? literally NO one else has been said to be able to do this #and like. hm. is it. is it... love??#like you know how zelda and her powers are implied to work the same. they focus on protecting the one(s) they love & their powers activate #(i know people theorise that mipha was going to tell zelda her power works when she thinks about link but i've always thought she was going #to say that it works when she thinks about saving the person under her care. because it doesnt really make sense to me that her healing #would work for other people if she was only focused on saving link you know? so i've always thought it was just 'saving the people i love')#and zelda is technically able to do this with link after he wakes up and he's the only person her powers woke for #so does this work maybe like an inverse or an extension of how their powers usually work? like instead of it just being their love for the #other person it's the other person/people's love or reciprocated love for them. zelda & link are implied to have really only had each other #but mipha. mipha had a family and a whole kingdom. she was connected to nearly all of them when she passed and both these events #are said to have taken place shortly after she fell. in the dlc she asks link to pass on a message to sidon for her implying that she #can no longer speak to him as she once could. perhaps that's just her power waning over time but if you think about it in the context #of how the domain is slowly losing people who knew her and those who remain only remember her for what she did for them rather than who #she truly was then could she have stopped being able to connect with them because there was no one left who loved her as they once did.#loved her for who she was.#was she in vah ruta reaching out for her father and brother and realising slowly that they were forgetting her #... Finally done with teen wolf rewatch. Phew

#took me like 3 months #thought I was gonna watch a few eisodes I like because I was feeling nostalgic one evening now I finished the whole thing lol #not the movie tho I don't vibe with it #one of a few things I noticed is that scott smiles fondly at stiles' remarks a lot :')#anyway thinking about how each character change along the way #lydia is like a completely different character from the first seasons #since I'm biased I love the dynamic change with scott and stiles #like they kinda swapped roles a bit but still remain themselves??#scott develops from an awkward teen only caring about living normal life when he has more people to protect and learning to become a leader #he's almost unrecognizable from the first ep too #for stiles. he has character development of course but I think he himself hasn't changed much #even if he said they're not kids running in the woods anymore #he's still the mischievous sarcastic lil guy we know showing up at scott's house. running around looking for trouble & helping people #he always has that dark & anxious side #it's us that know more and more about different sides of him as the story goes on #from the start it's just the two of them against the world. now they're holding hands with their friends facing the world #anyway this show did get a little weird and inconsistent which is not surprising consider how long it went #the scripts also revolve around actor/actress availability also #so many characters with interesting dynamic what wasn't given time to explore #free real estate for us fans

the version of hq!! i’m watching has a far better quality of translation than the one i saw in 2015 so i have a better handle of the game logistics but as far as interpersonal dialogue, it’s much more committed to translating the emotion of the vocal performance rather than just the words, but it’s still not overly westernized that it’s scraping to equate certain cultural signals

#tsukishima has a fairly smaller presence in the first season (it’s setting up for the full backstory in season 2)#but i’m catching more subtleties especially in regards to his friendship with yamaguchi #they’re my forever blorbos but ive always thought their relationship outside of the team dynamic was unclear or lost in translation at times #incomprehensible ranting ->#there’s definitely an imbalance but tsukishima has never tried to control what yamaguchi does #when yams goes to learn the jump float serve its a departure but tsuk is like whatever yams said he had something to do so i won’t pry #so tsuk is very passive and uncaring (as a defense mechanism) and it’s literally a miracle that yams has stayed his friend #it’s the remaining thread he has. why even continue to play volleyball? he’s obviously attached to it but feigns disinterest #and yams is the only other person who knows this and who will ever know this.#(i’m pretty sure tsuks whole issue with akiteru is never said out loud and yams only knows bc he was literally there when it happened)

People judge actions based on reactions and Mike is a prime example. He is a very hated character right now but consider this

Season 1: Mike said to El (twice, I believe) "What is wrong with you!" She ran off hurt but returned within a couple episodes. (People often like to parallel him saying this in season 4 to the cliff scene when he didn't but forget the times he did. He didn't get worse or more hypocritical you just picked bad examples). I don't remember him directly apologizing for this, though he did validate that she was not a monster and he did not see her as such and that could be counted for one of these instances.

He is widely forgiven and even forgotten for this.

Season 4: Mike initiates an attempt to understand and console El. When confronted, he cannot say I love you but tries to say everything else he can to make her feel better. She is crying, speaking poorly of herself, and angrily throws letters while confronting him. After many episodes apart (which he spends brainstorming how to fix things and she spends not bringing it up once) he apologizes to her in full, hitting every point and taking full responsibility, at the soonest opportunity.

He is widely antagonized for this.
