Baby Willow who loves Grandpa Jimmy. This girl wasn’t sure about anyone (as a newborn she definitely gave Carmy some stink eye. You insist it’s gas, but he’s still crushed) but Grandpa Jimmy? Immediately yes. Cries until she’s put in his arms. Gives him big toddler kisses and climbs him like a jungle gym given the chance.
Evolves into Teddy making her sister ask Grandpa Jimmy for anything they want when they’re older.
((Once you see Carmy eyeing Willow when he needs something from Jimmy and he immediately gets the 🤨 face because no, Carmen, you cannot send your twelve year old to go ask your shady ass uncle for more money))
jimmy just has such a calming aura to them both. teddy always adored him because he would always bring her a gift, always play with her and be a little silly.
but willow, everyone is kinda floored with how taken willow is with him. when she’s fussy nonstop and suddenly calm with jimmy? carmen is beyond confused. convinced he slipped her something.
“are you fuckin’ stupid? get outta here.” jimmy scoffs, rolling his eyes when carmen accuses him of that. “did i give her somethin’- yeah, it’s called bein’ calm. not tryna rock a baby when you’re fuckin’ stressed. they can sense that shit, carm, you should know better.” even in his gruff, hateful tone willow still isn’t moving or waking.
just the two of them being besties. little willow who’s so shy and sweet and quiet and calm with.. jimmy? it’s a sight lol.

Older!eddie, reacting to hearing both his girls swear for the first time for the blurb request 🤭
i'm assuming you're talking about brielle and delilah, so that's what i did haha! a little parallel type blurb since i know the older!eddie crowd loves it lmao. tw: gina
Seventeen Years Before
"Brie, where ya at, Munchkin?" Eddie's sing-songy tone floated through the small home, over the hum of his boombox in the window.
"In here!" Brielle's little chirp of a tone came from the other room, where she was 'cleaning up', which really meant moving her toys from in front of the TV to the hall.
Gina was gone for the day, and Eddie felt sick at the fact that he was so relieved. They'd been going through a rough patch, endless fighting and bitter remarks behind the toddler's back. So when Eddie had the rare Sunday off, he encouraged Gina to go out with her friends, promising he'd take care of everything.
"Can you come in here, please?" Eddie craned his neck to try and look into the living room, hands still elbow deep in dish water. "I need some help in here. You wanna dry for me?" Really, he wanted to make sure she hadn't somehow found the magic markers, scribbling on the walls again.
"Yes!" Brielle shrieked in laughter, tiny footsteps bounding on the carpeted floor towards the kitchen.
Eddie's head whipped around at the crashing sound, a solid thud that shook the doorframe. Brielle looked up at Eddie from the doorway, hands on the ground, braced from her fall.
"Oh, shit." Eddie muttered, shaking his sudsy hands off, wiping them on his shirt. "Uh-oh. Did you fall?" He tried to keep his voice level. He had learned if he freaked, then she would too.
Brielle looked up, face contorting with a grimace that looked freakishly similar to Gina's. Eddie cringed, crouching in front of her. "Let me see." He picked her up gently, turning her hands over. "No scratches. You're good. All good." His tone lifted, standing with a groan, the toddler on his hip.
"Sit up here and help me dry. Can you do that for me?" Eddie asked, grabbing the rag from the drawer, handing it to Brielle. "Hold it with two hands, alright?"
Brielle's little legs swung on the counter, carefully wiping down each dish Eddie would hand her, his hand hovering over the bottom in case she dropped it.
Eddie turned for a moment, going to finish the stack of sippy cups he hadn't washed out yet. "Are you excited to go to Grandpa's in a few days?" He hummed, looking over at Brielle.
Her face lit up, squealing with excitement, legs kicking faster. "Yes!" She squeaked, arms flinging the towel, knocking over a cup. It toppled before tipping over the side, Eddie's soapy hand splashing out of the water, barely catching it before it crashed.
Brielle's wide eyes met his, matching rounded expressions. "Oh, shit?" Brielle repeated, her tone so adorably soft that Eddie almost thought he heard her wrong.
"What?" Eddie gaped.
"Oh, shit?" Brielle repeated, a slight lisp, the word unfamiliar to her. "It falled?"
"No, no, no," Eddie shook his head, setting the mug down. "Jesus, no, Brielle, look at me." He tried to even out his tone. It would've been funny- really fuckin' funny, actually- if he didn't think Gina might kill him over this. Throw it back in his face and prove her point that he was already not a good father, like she already loved to do.
"You can't say that word." Eddie shook his head. "That's a bad word. A really bad word."
Brielle frowned in confusion. "You says it." She tilted her head to the side.
"I know, and I shouldn't say it." Eddie shook his head. He didn't even realize he'd said it, that she'd heard it. "Look, that's not a good word, ok? And if you say it..." He hesitated.
"If you say that word, Santa doesn't come to visit you." Eddie said seriously. Brielle's face dropped, eyes widening in horror. She was finally old enough to realize the magic of Santa, that he'd bring her toys, all kinds of toys - too many toys, thanks to Santa Wayne who insisted on spoiling her.
"That's why Daddy doesn't get gifts from Santa, because I say bad words." Eddie wasn't entirely sure he should say that, sure parenting books would go against that, but still, he was desperate for her not to say it in front of Gina.
Brielle's face fell, crumbling with fear. "I-I didn't means too!" She wailed, more dramatics than real tears.
"I know, hey, it's ok. You didn't know. That was Daddy's fault." Eddie cringed; definitely not the best thing to do. "It's ok. Now you know, so just don't say it anymore ok?" By some miracle, Brielle managed to forget the word, or at least not say it in front of Gina, which Eddie was beyond thankful for. At least that was one thing she didn't have on him, couldn't throw back in his face and guilt him with.
Seventeen Years Later
"Ed!" You called, flinging through the racks of clothes in the closet. "Eddie! Did you make sure to pack her floaties?"
"Yes, honey." Eddie called back, dragging the next suitcase down the hall towards the front door. "I put two pairs in the beach bag."
"And sunscreen?" You leaned back, eyeing him from your place in the closet.
"Also in the beach bag." Eddie nodded.
"Uh, your sunscreen." You glared at him lightly. "You better make sure that SPF 70 is in there, Munson."
Eddie rolled his eyes. "It is." He grumbled, leaning on the doorframe of the closet, arms crossed over his chest. "Even if it's not, I'll be alright. Never used it before-"
"-And that's why you had to have that place cut off." You glared at him with finality. "Your derm told you to use that, so you better use it, Edward. I'll hold you down and spray it on you if I have to."
Eddie grinned, lines by his eyes crinkling gently. "Don't tempt me with a good time, bunny." He growled lowly, playfully pinching your ass.
You jumped, rolling your eyes at him lightly. "Lilah!" You yelled down the hall. "Do you have your tablet charged? It's a loooong ride, baby. Make sure you've got your charger."
"Okay!" The five year old called back. "I have it in my backpack!"
"Good. Can you bring your backpack here so Daddy can take it out to the car?" You nodded, looking over at Eddie. "Check her bag and make sure."
"I got it." Eddie nodded. "Relax, sweetheart. If we forget something, we'll just stop and get it when we get there."
"I know, I just hate that feeling. I feel like I'm forgetting something, and it's driving me fuc- crazy." You cut yourself off with a small smile, Delilah's bright backpack entering the room before she did. "Thank you, Lilah. Do you want to go potty before we leave one last time?"
Eddie unzipped the backpack, looking in it. "Hm, I don't see your ear phones. Did you pack them?"
"Oh, shit. I forgot." Delilah said flippantly, jumping off the bed. "I'll go get them!"
You and Eddie paused, stunned at the ease and the accuracy that she said. "Did she- you heard that too?" You whispered, eyes wide in shock.
Eddie's lips twitched, swallowing back a smirk. "Yeah." He snickered.
"Eddie!" You gasped. "Don't encourage that." Your own lips were curling, trying to keep your stern composure.
"I'm sorry! But you gotta admit, that's a little funny." Eddie laughed, rubbing a hand over his face.
"She used it correctly too." You rubbed your temples, swallowing back your own smile. "That's somehow worse."
Eddie giggled into his hands, ducking into the closet to compose himself. "Holy shit, never been prouder in my life." He laughed teasingly.
You smacked his shoulder lightly, lips pressed in a tight line. "You're so immature." You shook your head. "Wonder where she got it from." You glared at him lightly, sending him into another fit of giggles.

Maybe a part 3 to resilient?
Resilient chapter 3
Eddie Munson x male reader
Stranger things
Warnings: omegaverse, male reader, angst, Omega male reader, implied mpreg, Eddie feels like Dookie
☁️🐟☁️🐟☁️🐟☁️🐟☁️🐟☁️🐟☁️🐟☁️🐟☁️🐟☁️
(sons name) excitedly ate his pancakes, (name) looking fondly at his kid as Hopp drank his coffee while reading the morning paper "so ducky, you are gonna hang out with grandpa today, isn't that fun?" (Name) Gently cleaned the pups face as they moved on to their bacon, extra crispy just like (sons name) liked it.
(Sons name) Looked giddy before glancing at his grandpa "what we doin!?" He asked with an aggressive level of excitement and Hopp chuckled "you gotta see bud" his eyes holding a glimmer of excitement as he finished his coffee "now finish your food"
Eddie stood infront of the apartment door, nerves invading his mind as he hesitated to knock, pulling back when he was about to and pacing slightly in a small circle.
"Stop being a bitch munson... Just knock on the door" he took a deep breath and knocked on the door, waiting anxiously for ten minutes before knocking once more "he's not there" a withered old voice said as Eddie turned to see an elderly woman at the door across the hall "do you know where he went?" Eddie asked anxiously and the woman sighed "moved to his dad's or whatever... Good kid, gonna miss 'em" Eddie thanked the woman and left the building, a shuttered sigh escaping his lips as she toyed with his car keys, thankful that no one really cared about him as he got inside his mustang and just rested his head on the wheel.
"Fuck" he was at Hopps? That was practically a death wish for Eddie... Hopp had zero qualms for shooting people off his property and added bonus of Sheriff... Yeah he wasn't going there.
He drove around town, aimlessly looking for any sign of the Omega as he tried not to let anxiety flood him as well as avoid anyone he may know, especially Robin and Steve... The two were a danger within themselves.
(Name) Was happy as he ended his shift, walking to the local toy store to get his toddler a few gifts as he had a fair more amount to work with now that he didn't pay rent, already having decorations hidden in his closet for the party in just a few weeks.
(Name) Looked at the toys his son would like, large building blocks and paw patrol were big contenders as he looked at his options carefully "I am not getting that... To many parts" parts he and his dad will definitely step on eventually and frankly that's not what they needed.
(Name) Was excited as he left the store with a few bags of toys, giddy he got to splurge on his little sunshine.
He wasn't expecting to lock eyes with Eddie... He always thought of this day... The day he would eventually see him, have something witty to say or maybe be cool and put together and make Eddie regret hurting him like he did...
But all he did was stare, throat tight and body suddenly freezing cold as Eddie looked like a sad puppy "can... Can we talk?" Eddie said softly, (name)s breathing uneven as he felt himself grow dizzy with anxiety... Suddenly he felt like the helpless teen he was almost four years ago.
It was extremely tense as they sat before one another in the back of a small diner, coffees infront of both of them, neither speaking for a solid ten minutes.
"So... You're back" (name) whispered as he fidgeted with his fingers, Eddie wanted so badly to reach out to him but he knew that would be a terrible idea "I am... Wayne showed me the letters... I-I didn't know" (name) just stared at him coldly, anger flooding through him "yet you still did what you did" (name) whispered, voice shaking with anger as he looked Eddie in the eye "never did you think to believe me, to listen to me... But now suddenly I matter? I don't care if you didn't know, I will never forgive you" (name) seethed, a strength rushing through his veins that he didn't know he had and Eddie looked gutted at his words. Good.
"You sent me a cease and desist, I don't understand why you are talking to me since you clearly despsie me" (name) was more confident as he leaned back "after all, I'm just a gold digger and a whore who wants to earn THE Eddie munsons favor again" paraphrasing Eddie and his band mates + parts of the gangs words and Eddie looked like he was killed over and over again "I am so sorry... I'll cancel the cease and desist! I-I just wanted to make amends... Meet my son..."
"You can meet him but know I will never forgive you..." (Name) Said coldly "you can even do a DNA test if you want... Make sure you are actually the father of a whores pup" (name) knew he was the dad, (sons name) was literally a mini Eddie down to his smile but god did he want to rub salt in the wounds.
"I have to go, I have things I need to go do, I'll let you know when he and myself are ready to see you" the Alpha shakily handed (name) his number, he watched as (name) lifted bags up "goodbye, Munson" (name) said coldly and left Eddie in the diner, coffees untouched.
(Name) Rushed to his car, his dad giving him his old truck to drive and drove off, unsure where as he reeled at what just happened, god he was shaking.
He got home, sitting in the driveway as he felt anger and anxiety flow through him, he avoided ANYTHING Eddie related for almost four years and bam! There he was with a shitty apology and god (name) felt like he vindicated his past self for telling off his ex, fuck Eddie Munson frankly.
(Name) Left the toys in the car, unsure if his kid and dad were home, not wanting to risk it as he unlocked the door "YOU HOME!" (sons name) Squealed as he ran towards his dad, (name) smiling as he lifted the pup in his arms "so are you my little firecracker!" (Sons name) Gently bonking his forehead against his dams, having learned cats do it do it was his new favorite thing "how was your day with grandpa?" (Name) Asked as he walked into the kitchen area where he saw cookies and Joyce along with his siblings "what are you two doing here?" He knew Joyce had gone to go see them but... "Mom got us, we can't miss our favorite nephews birth" will said softly and (name) smiled stupidly before looking at his son "they came just to see you!"
When (sons name) went down for his nap, (name) spoke of the meeting with Eddie to his family as he nibbled on a cookie "he apologized to me and all that but god I just wanted to beat him with the mug... How dare he act remorseful when he was so cruel to me" how dare he expect that sympathy and empathy when he denied (name) it all those years ago, (name) crushed the cookie in his hand as he grew more angry, thankfully wearing scent blockers so no one had to smell the death stench of an angry Omega.
"So are you going to let him meet (sons name)?" Joyce would support anything (name) decided as her step son sighed "...I- I will let him meet him but on my terms... I plan on meeting him again and maybe bring Steve when bringing my terms... Everything is about (sons name)s comfort"
(Name) Spent the night putting the terms together, thinking of anything needed.
Then he sent off the text for a meeting to set boundaries with a deep sigh.
He didn't know if he wanted his son to have Eddie in his life but he knew it wasn't fair to his pup... Didn't mean he liked it though.

Oil is Thicker Then Blood (Part 33)
Uzi took a canister of oil with her when they left, taking a drink out of it to hopefully cool herself off. N was holding Tera much like you would a human baby, supporting her head with his hand. The trip was mostly quiet, both drones overtaken by the same, and separate, worry.
She wasn't sure what has going on with her, as she took a read on her internal temperature, it came back normal, telling her that her oil reserves were full, and that her systems were nominal.
Even so, she felt herself getting warmer as they walked, she took another gulp of oil, even as it continued to do nothing to help. If the heat wasn't coming from her systems though… where was it coming from?
“Are you sure you're okay?” N asked, putting a hand on her back as they rounded the corner to Khan’s apartment, she nodded, this didn't feel like her overheating, that kind of heat was all-encompassing, searing, and painful.
This heat was… none of those things, she was just… warm. It was uncomfortable sure, because it seemed to want to pool into her head and down her back, but she wasn't scared, she wasn't hungry.
“Yeah, I think so.”
They reached the door that was their destination, Uzi's hand pounding into it as their gazes both fell on the still immobile toddler, Tera's eyelights scrunched as she met her mother's eyes.
Her kit would be fine, her core was healthy, the rest would come with time.
She shook her head, shaking the weirdly assuring thought out of her head. Kit?
Her dad opened the door with the biggest smile on his face, ushering them in with a “Come in, Come in!” N was already smiling, although his tail was instinctually arching around Uzi, as if his body was reacting to her discomfort even if he was consciously unaware of it.
“I see my granddaughter has her toddler body! What a cute little head of black hair!” N nodded, agreeing with him although overtaken by more worry, Tera's eyelights roamed over to Khan, staring intently.
“Oh my… has she not moved since the transfer?” Khan asked, stepping a little closer to his essentially-already-his-son-in-law.
“No… that's why we're here, we kinda wanted advice.” N replied, and Uzi nodded back, still slightly distracted by her own temperature.
“You… came to me for parenting advice?” Khan looked touched, one of his hands gripping his shirt over his core.
“She hasn't even been able to move her mouth.” Uzi explained, placing a hand on Tera's core, it was covered by the purple onesie, but she could still feel it thrumming away.
She's okay, see? Stop worrying.
“How long ago did she get this body?” He asked, putting his hand underneath his chin as he thought.
“A couple days ago.” N replied, holding the small toddlers hand and rubbing his thumb gently into it, he wasn't sure if she could feel it or not, but he hoped it was still comforting.
“Hmmm, well Uzi took a day to start moving, it could just be she just hasn't figured it out yet.” Khan suggested, smiling gently at N, possibly as an attempt to ease his worries, but N (nor Uzi) didn't seem to be pacified.
“But, let me take a look at her.”
N nodded, slowly dropping the toddler in her grandpa's arms, Khan looked at her for a moment, and Tera at him, eyes turning upwards into a smile.
“Well she's got her visor down.” He chuckled.
“Yeah, she got that down almost immediately.” Uzi responded, a weird feeling of possessiveness taking over, watching her dad hold her kid. It wasn't so bad she couldn't ignore it, but it was still strange.
When N held her, she didn't feel that way, what was the difference?
Khan held her up, her arms and legs dangling and her head slumping to the side, as if she was a doll.
“Your mom and I massaged your limbs to get the oil flowing, you could try that.” He suggested, turning to his daughter as he began to cradle Tera in his arms.
“Shouldn't her core be doing that?” N replied, pointing at the center of his chest for emphasis.
“Yes but… sometimes some manual movement can do the trick.” Khan took her over to the couch, laying her on her back and sprawling her out, she blinked at the sudden movement.
“I've been moving them for her… is that not the same thing?” N asked as he followed Khan to the couch, Uzi right behind him as she lept up onto the top of the couch on all fours, before jumping again to land next to N, who had crouched down on the floor.
“That was good instinct, but this may be more effective if her limbs are stiff.” Khan explained, taking one of Tera's limp arms and squeezing the tubing between his fingers firmly, but not nearly enough to hurt.
N watched him for a moment, analyzing his movements before taking her other arm and doing the same, only he had to be far more careful.
One wrong move, and he could rip her arm clean off.
He gulped at that thought, but continued, Khan stopped, and grabbed Uzi's hand to put it on Tera's arm, she looked at him curiously.
“Your daughter, you should be the ones doing it.” He smiled, and she couldn't help but smile back, the possessive feeling suddenly draining as she messaged her daughters arm.
She was reminded a bit of the old Biology books she'd read, where some animals licked their newborns not only to get them moving, but to clean them as well.
Only, Tera wasn't a newborn, and she was using her hands.
Tera's eyelights didn't portray any emotion, only her looking between her parents, who were both now focused on their task.
She trained her eyelights on the arm N was working on, eyelights furrowed in strain, the fingers in that arm twitching enough for N to take notice.
“It's working! Come on Tera, you got this!”
Uzi felt her core leap, smile overtaking her face.
Tera, spurred on by the praise, put more effort into moving her limbs, the whole arm jerking into her chest, the fingers on the arm Uzi was working on twitching erratically.
“Good job! Little more!” Uzi found herself joining in on the praise, not noticing the way Khan stiffened for a moment at the way her voice sounded. Or N's tail wrapping around her waist.
N moved down to her leg, keeping the pressure even and controlled as best he could in his excitement.
The arm Uzi had been massaging jerked before it too was pulled into Tera's chest, both arms now clumsily trying to grab everything. Her fingers not quite dexterous enough to do much but barely grip.
Her legs were next, going from stiff to kicking wildly into the air, nearly planting a foot in poor N's face, Uzi snickered, before she too had to dodge a uncontrolled kick to the visor.
“Looks like she just needed a little push.” Khan said, looking down onto the family from behind the couch, N's attention went to her mouth.
“Do we… like squish her face?”
“I guess.”
Both of N's hands came to squish Tera's silicone face, to be honest, it looked a little ridiculous. But still N pinched and squished her cheeks like an overly affectionate aunt.
And slowly, her head began to try to turn away from him, and her mouth turned to show her tiny teeth gritting as N rubbed her face.
He pulled his hands away, both parents leaned in to watch as Tera lifted her head slightly, roving as she slowly looked around the room.
Her eyes locked with Uzi again.
And the first sound out of her mouth was not a word, but a noise;

Hidden Hearts Reunited
A Mikey x reader oneshot (part 1)
-- You were Manjiro's first and closest friend, before Baji, Sanzu, or Draken. You were there. Your mothers were friends, meaning you were destined to be friends either way. You spent every second together since birth, a result of both mothers planning the deliveries on the same day. They realized a distinct difference between you and Manjiro, like night and day; you and Manjiro are polar opposites. Unlike Manjiro, who was always crying and screaming, you were quiet with a cute smile on your little round face. Manjiro would constantly cling onto you, as toddlers, crying louder if you were ever separated. Both mothers gushed at his actions. He would share his toys only with you and sleep peacefully next to you. It was an unbreakable bond between the both of you, from birth --
Tumblr media
You walked hand in hand as you made your way to the hospital to visit Manjiro's mothers, who had fallen ill.
"You know, we don't have to keep holding hands, we aren't toddlers anymore." You spoke with a hushed and gentle voice, barely audible only for Manjiro to hear, as you both crossed the street.
"No friggin' way, how else is everyone supposed to know you're mine." He scoffed as if you said something so ridiculous.
"...Manjiro, I'm not a thing to be claimed." You delivered with a straight face.
"I didn't say that, I mean you're my girl. No one else is supposed to hold your hand except for me." The little boy pouted, explaining in a confident, matter-of-fact tone.
"Well, if that means that you're mine also, I don't mind." Your soft voice brought him comfort, as you tightened your little hands grip on his. Manjiro's cheeks flushed with a warm, rosy hue as your words, expressed in a soft and reassuring voice, reached his ears.
"We're here! C'mon, I can't wait to see her!" Manjiro pulled you behind him as he made a beeline to his mothers hospital room.
"Manjiro, we're in a hospital, keep it down!" You whisper shouted at him.
You sat next to Manjiro as he rambled to his mother about how he beat up a couple of new guys, he always counted the days from week to week to tell her about his stories. On the other you examine his mother, somehow, she seemed different, a lot weaker and sickly. Her hands were cold as she brushed them against your cheek,
"How about you, my little angel?" She asked,
"I'm good, but... I miss you. When are you coming back home?" Your tone is gentle, pleasing to the ears, as you leaned further into her touch despite the coldness of her hand.
Without uttering a word in response, she bent down, gently pressing a kiss on your forehead. Then, with a tender gesture, she drew both you and Manjiro into her embrace, casting a meaningful gaze at both of you.
"Promise me something, you two, please never leave each other's side. Manjiro, you're strong, so protect Y/n. And Y/n you're kind and tender, please soften his heart."
"Huh? Mom, what's that supposed to mean?" He whined and pouted, as you giggled at his facial expression.
That was beginning of it all—the pact that bound both you and Manjiro, the curse intertwining your lives.
As memories lingered from that day at the hospital with Manjiro's mother, the promise made to her weighed heavily on your heart as you made your way to the Sano home without anyone's knowledge, especially Mikey, you went to Manjiro's older brother, Shinichiro and grandpa, to break the news, the upcoming move due to family issues. Despite your attempt to stay quiet and secretive, Manjiro overheard, and the news shattered him. What was he supposed to do now with his mothers promise? And you, you couldn't leave. You were with him from day one, literally. The thought made his throat tighten, but what could he do?
Years passed, and life took unexpected turns, finding yourself back in Japan due to the loss of your parents and your sole remaining relative, your aunt, residing in Japan. Involuntarily, the memories of your past resurfaced, a certain ache in your heart also resurfaced. You couldn't shake the question of whether you could find him ever again in the bustling streets of Shibuya. The thought of your first and only friend lingered in your mind, who you never forgot, wondering if fate would bring you together once more, this time, forever.
"What the hell am I thinking, he probably hates me now."
"Y/n!" You heard your aunt call out, as she approached you with open arms.
Your turned to your caller only for the air to be knocked from your lung with he unexpectedly strong hug, as she continued,
"Oh look at you, all grown up and beautiful!" She exclaimed dreamily.
You smiled, accepting her inviting hug, missing the feeling of being embraced by someone loving, especially after your recent loss.
"C'mon, I made plenty of food at home!" She urged as she grabbed your bags, one in each hand.
"W-wait, let me help, those are kinda heavy-" You reached out to grab one of your bags, but she lightly smacked your hand away.
"What do I look like to you, an old hag?" She picked up both bags with ease.
Woah...she's strong..
You soon realized why she's so strong when you reached her house,
"You live here!" You said, a little shocked by the fancy look home.
"Yep, my earnings from years of hard work." She said walking through the front gate and further inside.
You looked around like a child in a candy store, admiring everything around you. The garden, the nicely mowed grass and bushes. Once you stepped inside, your jaw gapped a little. After a tour of the house, she took you to a room, where the only thing in it was a hatch,
"You're not gonna kill me, are you?"
"Are you crazy, why would I kill my only niece? You're like the child that I never had." She said flicking your forehead, she smirked before she continued,
"It's a surprise, just climb down." She said as she opened it,
Climbing down, you were surprised to be met with a built-in Gym underground.
Oh, makes sense why she's so toned now
"Prepare yourself because I'm not raising no scrawny girl, I'm gonna make you tough, kiddo."
"hUh?" You're voice cracked,
After showing you your room and helping you put your stuff away, you finally sat down and had dinner with your aunt. She was going on about her life and you were invested, truly.
"So tell me, kiddo, how's life been for you?"
"Hmm, I manage." You answered, shrugging a little.
She gave you an unpleasant look before booing, "Boo, tomato, c'mon I know you got more than that."
"Well, what do you want to know about me, auntie?" You asked, laughing a little between your words.
She smiled as she thought,
There it is, she smiled...are you happy sister? I made her smile for you
"What are you looking forward to, here in Tokyo, I could take you anywhere you want."
It took you a second to think before you said, "I wanna go to a specific restaurant actually."
Your aunt looked visibly hurt, "D-do you not like my cooking?"’
The tears in the corners of her eyes made you choke before you frantically shook your head,
"N-no not at all, I promise! It's just...it was my favorite restaurant when I was kid, I always went with...my friend."
"Okay! First thing tomorrow, I'll take you there then." She said, giving you a warm smile,
Well, she changed pretty quick..
"...seriously, this is your go-to place?" She regarded you with an intrigued expression, raising doubts about your choice in restaurants.
“And here I thought you were gonna take us to some gourmet restaurant.” she added as you entered.
A sudden wave of bittersweet nostalgia washed over you, fueled by cherished memories associated with the restaurant.
"Oh, there are people here?" Your aunt expressed surprise.
That shouldn’t be a surprise…
Feeling a bit disheartened by her continual disapproval of the place, you sighed as you made your way to an empty booth. As your eyes scanned the area, they landed on a somewhat shorter boy, with you appearing a little taller than him. His long blonde hair was tied at the top, while the strands on the sides flowed freely. Accompanying him was a more intimidating figure, a boy with a tattoo on the side of his shaved head. They exude an air of trouble, and you realized you had been staring for too long when your eyes met with his pitch-black, piercing gaze. The eye contact lingered long enough for your aunt to shake your shoulder, snapping you out of it, and for his friend to call his name, breaking the sudden connection.
“Mikey..”
As you proceeded to your assigned booth, you couldn't resist one last glance backward, catching his intense gaze. A flicker of recognition sparked deep within your heart. Despite sensing a profound connection, you carried on your chosen path, unaware of the unspoken longing, as the passage of years had erased the memories that once tethered you together. While enjoying your kids' meal, you intermittently picked at your food, occasionally looking up to meet that same compelling gaze. It felt as if your existence was being drawn in, your heart pounding almost painfully in your chest.
Why..Why the hell is he just so…
“Damnit Mikey, what the hell is wrong with you?” His friend asked, annoyed by his sudden absence.
He turned towards that, which seemed to distract mikey, and there you were. Feeling a bit intimidated, you quickly averted your gaze, avoiding his friend's scrutiny.
"Are you planning to order something?" you inquired, using the question as a means to divert your attention.
"No way," she exclaimed, eyeing your food suspiciously. "Let's leave. I'll take you to a proper restaurant," she asserted with confidence.
"Sure, let's go," you responded promptly, rising from your seat.
Your aunt expressed surprise, "Wait, really? I didn't expect you to agree so quickly. Alright then!"
As you both left, she remarked, "Y/n, don't forget to remind me to take you to a clothing store later."
"Y/n... Y/n... Y/N!" He murmured softly. Before he could comprehend, his legs carried him forward, propelled by an instinctive force.
NO WAY, NO FUCKING WAY
"Y/N!" He called out, breathless from his sprint to catch up.
Halted by the unexpected call, you abruptly turned around. On the opposite side of the street, he came into view.
It can’t be…
Time stood still as if the universe held its breath. After years apart, your name lingered in his memory, indelible and unforgettable. In that suspended moment, all else faded away.
“Manjiro...?” you whispered. He didn't need to hear your voice; just from reading your lips, he knew you called out to him..

Cookies for Grandpa
Written for @steddiebingo 12 days of Christmas Prompts: Cookies, candy canes A continuation of Life finds a way but can (theoretically) be read alone! Rating: G | WC: 625 | Tags: Domestic fluff, adopted children, kitchen disasters ao3 | Divider credit
Tumblr media
Their kitchen was coated in flour. Eddie wasn't sure, but he was pretty sure the grainy sound was sugar against the bottom of his workboots.
When Steve had said he and Andrew would be baking cookies to take over to Grandpa's house, Eddie hadn't imagined the kitchen looking quite like a tornado had torn through it after. Any time Steve baked he was meticulous, clean, he needed everything to be just so.
Then again, he'd never had a three year old helping him out, either.
The low murmur of their voices became louder as Eddie passed through to the dining room. There were two pans of cookies laid out. Some of them were more brown on the edges than others— no doubt from the two of them getting distracted while they baked— but otherwise they looked mostly intact.
"Hey!" Steve looked up at Eddie with a bright grin. He had flour in his hair and frosting smeared across one cheek."We were wondering when you would get home!"
"Hi Eddie!" Andrew stood up in his chair, and Steve immediately grabbed on to the back of it to keep him from falling backwards. "We maked cookies!" He had frosting on his face, too, smeared across his forehead and into one of his eyebrows.
"I see that!" Eddie stopped in the doorway to the dining room to remove his sugar encrusted boots, then came close to press a kiss to the tops of their heads. "It sounds like you boys have had a busy day! Do you need help decorating? I'm really good at that."
"Uh-huh!" Andrew dropped the candy cane he'd been eating onto the table before gesturing to the cookies that had already been decorated.
The base frosting was a muddy yellow color. Some of the cookies had what Eddie was sure were supposed to be flowers while others had hearts on them.
"I see you found a use for all of those extra candy canes."
"Who doesn't love a candy cane cookie?" Steve asked. He shot Eddie a wink, then stood up to guide Eddie into his empty chair. "Why don't you two keep decorating? I'll go check on Liz, and then I think there's a kitchen that is in need of some major TLC."
Eddie wasn't sure if that was an excuse for Steve to get some much earned alone time or not, but either way he was happy to sit and take over. "We'll be here!" he said. "Won't we, buddy?"
"Yeah!" Andrew shifted in his seat so he was on his knees instead of standing in the chair. "I show you how!"
"Good luck, Ed." Steve pecked his lips, ruffled Andrew's hair, and headed for where Liz was sleeping in the living room.
It'd been nearly six months since they'd taken Andrew and his sister Liz (short for Elizabeth) into their little home. Six months of paperwork and caseworker visits, of moving so they weren't all crammed into one bedroom and learning how to handle the occassional toddler meltdown.
Nearly six months of learning that they wouldn't be waking up alone together anymore, that bedtime would now come with sharp knees digging into spines and little feet tucking into their underarms and a head full of curls in their face— something that wasn't so new for Steve, since he and Eddie had gotten together.
Six months of diapers and spit-up and learning to run on three hours of sleep.
They'd both been right, it had been hard sometimes, even when it was fun. But as Eddie listened to Steve sweeping up sugar, and as Andrew corrected the placement of his candycanes to make the cookies "even perfecter", it hit him again that he wouldn't trade that six months for the world.

Prompt: Thanksgiving and Percabeth pregnancy!
Set in the same future canon as this fic.
Conceiving Sophia had taken a year of careful, strategic trying, prenatal vitamins, ovulation tests, and a very serious conversation with an OB about potentially looking into fertility tests.
Conceiving their second baby had simply taken Annabeth forgetting to bring her birth control on vacation, and Percy forgetting to pull out once or twice.
They hadn't planned to get pregnant within a year of Sophie being born, but there they were again. And this time, Annabeth had had to suffer the slings and arrows of the first trimester during a New York August. Percy felt terrible for her.
But the temperature had dropped, she'd entered her second trimester, and Percy was pretty sure she'd nearly eaten the entire Thanksgiving turkey herself. At five months pregnant now, she had a sweet little bump and the same beautiful face Percy always wanted to kiss.
Their toddler was a different story. Turns out, a fifteen-month-old mini-Annabeth has a lot in common with drunk Annabeth: a lot to say, but with less-than-great communication skills, prone to running off without warning, and plenty of crying. At least drunk Annabeth was potty trained. Sophie might have started manipulating plumbing at three months and talking at eight months, but she didn't seem to be in any rush to the next milestone. Not that they'd be free of diaper bags any time soon anyway.
Sophie had spent most of dinner combining handfuls of potatoes with cranberry sauce and making a great mess. That her doting grandparents only cooed at, as Percy tried to wipe her down
But now Sophie was down on the couch between Grandpa Paul and Grandpa Fred, watching The Godfather II.
"Is this appropriate for her?" Fred had asked.
"We let Nico babysit a lot. She might find it comforting. All these old school Italians," Percy joked. Nico was taller than him now, and he looked like a young Al Pacino. Whatever. Percy had a beautiful wife and perfect baby.
He walked back into the kitchen to help his mom clean and found her in a battle of kindness with Annabeth.
"--Sweetie, we've got it. Go sit --"
"--Sally, really, I'm fine. Let me help --"
"--That's what my two kids are here for --"
"--They helped cook --"
"--So they can help clean."
His mom looked at him, pleading as if to ask: Can you talk some sense into her?
Percy smiled and shook his head. As if he'd ever been able to do anything of the sort.
"Come on," he said, wrapping his arms around her from behind and resting his hands on her belly. He felt their baby kick against his hands, and Annabeth made a small opmh noise. The baby had started kicking last month, and she always seemed extra active after Annabeth ate, or (Percy argued) when he was around.
"See, even she wants you to sit down and relax," Percy said. Another girl. He couldn't wait. Maybe it was sooner than they expected, but he wouldn't trade this little girl for anything.
"Is she kicking?" Sally asked. Annabeth nodded. "Can I?"
Percy moved his hands, and Annabeth guided Sally to where she could feel.
"i can't believe this was me only ten years ago," Sally said. "Now I have two more babies!"
"Grandbabies," Percy corrected.
"Oh, shush," Sally said. She still hadn't made peace with being a grandma. "I can't be a grandma. I have a middle schooler."
"Maybe by baby four or five, you'll be more comfortable," Annabeth joked.
"Five?!" Sally said. Percy and Annabeth just shrugged. They hadn't planned a final count. They'd just ... see where nature took them. "Well sweetie, if you're planning on doing this three more times, then you should really get your rest in now," Sally said, shooing them both to the living room.
They both came to a dead stop when they reached the living room. Both gradnpas and Sophie had fallen asleep, all with their heads tilted back, mouths open.
"Food coma," Percy whispered.
"I'll say," Annabeth said, before snapping a few pictures. 'Want to lay down in the guest room?" She asked.
"Sure," Percy said, giving her a gentle kiss. When the door closed behind them, he asked: "Should we get a head start on babies three and four?"
"Cheeky. But I feel like a stuffed turkey," she said, climbing under the covers.
"You're a turkey I'd love to -- actually I'm just going to apologize immediately for that," he said as she laughed, rolling onto her side away from him. "Just snuggles?" He asked as he wrapped an arm around her and resting a protective hand on her belly.
"Yep," she said. Their baby kicked in agreement.

Speaking of the wildfires, I actually have a story about my first wildfire and how 9-year-old Granny inadvertently saved my family’s house.
My grandmothers house is in a prime location, overlooking canyons and you can see the shimmer of the ocean in the distance. The street its on is surrounded by canyons on all sides.
I remember my mom shaking me and my brother awake, saying that we have to go, and I remember hearing police outside telling people to evacuate over the megaphone. I remember looking out the window and seeing the fire clawing up the canyon toward my grandmother’s house on the opposite side of the street.
Everything was chaos while we grabbed the things we could. My sister was a toddler, my grandfather didn’t move well, we had four dogs, and we had to get everyone into the car and get out.
We go to my aunts house, who lived nearby but was out of the fire path. Once we got there, it hit me:
We didn’t get everyone out.
We forgot my pet tortoise, Squirtle. (We also forgot some medication, but 9-year-old me didn’t care about that)
I start BAWLING. Ugly, frantic, “we gotta save him” crying.
My mom and grandparents, understandably stressed, told me to chill the fuck out and that it’s “just a turtle”. We couldn’t get back to the house anyways and there wasn’t anything we could do.
Enter my uncles: Good Uncle who is former military and a genuinely nice guy, Bad Uncle who was a motorcycle gang trouble maker and the most offensive human being you have ever met. He’s now a red-hat wearing Republican. We don’t talk to him anymore.
But! At the time, Bad Uncle had a soft spot for me and the tortoise. He saw that I was upset and was like, “shit, I gotta get my niece’s turtle. He’s my buddy. I drove cross country with him on my dashboard.”
Good Uncle was like, “forget the turtle — he’s in the garden and we don’t have time to find him, we need to get grandpas medication.”
So they both got on their motorcycles and ducked past the police roadblocks into my grandmother’s neighborhood. The entire street was on fire by the time they got there… except for my grandmother’s house. The fire from the neighbors house was just starting to creep over and caught the wooden awning in the backyard.
My uncles hopped the fence into the neighbors yard, whose house was already done for, and started flinging water from their pool wherever they could reach. Putting out the fires where they could, just trying to do something, knowing that they didn’t have time and the house was probably going down anyways.
By the time they return, my grandparents and my mother had throughly crushed my hopes of getting my tortoise back. The uncles were only going for my grandpas medication, and chances were they wouldn’t be able to find the tortoise.
Good Uncle get off his Harley and has a bag full of stuff that he rescued from the house.
Bad Uncle gets off his Harley, covered in soot and ash, and reaches into the side bucket thing on his bike, and pulls out a towel.
And wrapped in the towel was Squirtle.
I remember Bad Uncle apologizing that Squirtle got to ride the motorcycle before I did, but I got my tortoise back and he was safe!
The only reason my uncles caught that part of the backyard was on fire was because Bad Uncle decided to look for Squirtle anyway.
A few days later, we’re allowed back into the neighborhood. Every house in the neighborhood burnt to the ground. Every. Single. House.
Except one.
My grandmother’s house survived. I guess whatever my uncles did in the backyard warded off the fire long enough for firefighters to get there or something. All of the patio chairs were arranged in a circle, and one of the firefighters had written in the soot on the grill “Luckiest House in [hometown name]”
And that’s the story of how 9-year-old Granny forgetting her pet tortoise probably saved my grandmother’s house.

OH MY GOD ITS ME IM THE NONNIE 💄
i think about them all the time! their careers, their two girls, just what their life is like!
EEEEEE ILY
They both took a little break to raise the baby, who I believe I named Lila Rose? ( I tried finding the original post but couldn’t) She is a real mix of the both of you. She’s bubbly and active and loooooooves sports which throws you and Eddie for a loop bc neither of you are athletically inclined. You think it’s her grandpas influence bc she would watch baseball with him when he came to help when she was first born. He would prop her up on him while they both sat in his chair and watched the games. She also LOVES her big sister and her big sister LOVES her. She wants to be just like her.
Speaking of Violet Rose, she is much much better. She got into modelling just like her biological mother. VR reached out and wanted to know more about that side of the family. They have a cordial relationship but Poppy will forever be her mom. 🥺 She’s also an LGBTQ + icon and She’s dating a girlypop named Brina and is in looooooooove. They will probably get married.
But back to the main characters. Eddie is still so obsessed with Angel. Especially during pregnancy (talk about breeding kink he didn’t know he had) he LOVED watching you grow the baby. He didn’t let you do anything and you kind got annoyed with him bc damn. Eventually he lightened up and let you do things but also you used it slightly to your advantage. Especially the foot rubs.
Once you had little Lila Rose he fell even more in love with you. Watching you become a mom?! talk about boner alert. 🚨🚨🚨
You and Eddie also have worked on a bunch of music together. Not a collaboration bc your music styles are waaaaaaaaay too different but you are each others muses so the BOPS you produce are 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Corroded Coffin got a Vegas residency for a few months so you and him and your toddler move (VR is living on her own at this point) and it’s fun but you eventually got back to LA in the new house you and Eddie bought together. It’s your favourite place to be.
Eddie also bought a new house in Italy that isn’t tainted. It’s in a completely different city but on the coast and Lila Rose loves the private jet, she’s such a diva about it but it’s too cute bc she’s only 2.
I really should write a little blurb about the honeymoon bc you know they’re FILTHY 😪😫

The Pomegranate Tree [sdv Elliott x male farmer oc] Part Two: Pelican Town
ao3 version
Masterlist | First | Next
Hazel scanned the rustic buildings and people as leather boots tapped stone pavement. It was much quieter, in a way that was appreciated. No cars, simply the chatter of birds and women who shared the experience of motherhood, raising both toddlers and kids in their 20s struggling to move out. Giggles and squeals of two younger children. Casual conversation of strangers seemingly their age. Likely the twenty-something-year-olds in question.
Hazel had once heard a rumor that the people here appreciate gifts. It was hard to remember who exactly he heard that from. Grandpa, the mayor, who knows. The thought led to Hazel collecting a handful of dandelions and daffodils on his way over.
He searched for someone similar to him. Mid or early twenties. Someone who could understand him.
A young ginger woman sat under a tree, book in hand. That he could understand. That was the peace he longed for. A simple book under the tree. He hates to interrupt her moment, but it was the perfect time to test the theory of presents.
"Hi." The stranger looked up from her book. A romance one, judging by the cover. She seemed surprised by the other, green eyes widening. Social anxiety. Understandable. Knowing that a moment too late sent a small wave of guilt over the other.
"I'm Hazel, the new farmer."
"Oh, I've heard about you..." Her tone was quiet, soft. She wasn't sure what to say. Instead of returning to the book, she obliged in the conversation.
"I'm Penny, the not so new school teacher." Hazel joined the other on the grass. Satisfying, thriving grass. Hazel fought the temptation to rip the grass from the ground.
Sitting beside her, he could see the two kids she was monitoring. Six or seven years old, if he had to guess. It felt appropriate for the next line to be one of humor.
"Awfully large class you got." Penny laughed, hiding a pinch of embarrassment.
"Okay... not a teacher. But I have a teaching degree. We don't exactly have enough kids for school." She thought about how to continue the expiation. "So, I'm their 'tutor.' They're each homeschooled." She sighed. "I thought a white lie could impress you."
"You don't need to impress me." Hazel reached into the bag pulling out a dandelion. "I got you something."
Penny's eyes lightened as they looked at the flower, a smile growing on her face. "I love these." The smile made Hazel worry the gift would evolve into a crush and he would have to come out as gay to someone he just met. She seemed like to the type to fall fast.
"Thank you," Penny smiled. The gift was set to her side. "And thank you, for talking to me. You didn't have to."
"No problem." Hazel pushed himself off the ground. "I need to put myself out there and make some friends. Especially with this much opportunity."
"You know, you remind me of someone," Penny said. Hazel stopped. "It's uh, not every day you see a guy with long hair like yours." She panicked. "I'm not judging of course! It looks great. I just thought you would want to meet Elliott."
Elliott. The first syllable of the name reminded him of his younger sister, Ellie. She was finally turning 18, reminding Hazel that he's almost 23. The name all together sounded masculine and feminine at the same time. Each syllable flowed to the next smoothly off the tongue.
He should not be thinking this much about a name.
"He lives on the beach. That way." Penny gestured to two stone pillars, a path leading to sand. That's all he needed to know.
Hazel walked past two strangers he could have introduced himself to. Although he kicked himself for it, this felt more important. To meet a stranger he knew nothing about, only the length of his hair and beauty of the name.
The stranger in question sat at a dock facing the ocean, legs dangling and caressing the water. Hazel found himself unable to move closer. Just like the girl before, it felt shameful to interrupt one's peace. The stranger was minding his business, looking at the water. He wondered what the other was thinking about.
"Hi. I'm the new farmer." The boy seemed startled, surprised that someone besides the local fisherman came to the beach. It seemed to make him happy that someone was there. Someone who also appreciated the water.
"Hazel. The people have spoken of you." Again. That was an anxiety inducing thought.
"I hope I've lived up to your expectations so far." Hazel sat next to the other, unwilling to take off his shoes and touch the water like Elliott was. Not only an embarrassing thing for Hazel to do, revealing his toes so early into the friendship, but the sensory aspect of the water. Cold and wet.
Instead, he admired the aesthetic of the stranger. Dirty blond hair flowed down his back, rather thin with a slight curl. The whole thing was tied together with a red ribbon.
"Penny complimented your hair," Hazel spoke up. "I would have to agree with her." A smile shown on the other's face.
"Thanks, yours too."
Hazel's own hair was tied back into two twin tails, to keep out of his face but not hide it in a single ponytail. A dark brunette, framing hazel green eyes. The name and eye color was a coincidence.
"What brings you to Stardew Valley?"
"A new beginning." A basic answer, but a true one.
"Something we all need."

How I think the members of Lupin's gang will live once they retire
Lupin and Fujiko:
they would live in a big city or near one in a nicer place
it would be where their kids grew up and they would visit their parents every so often
I feel like they would have a girl first then a boy
they wouldn't force the title of Lupin the 4th on their kid
they would want them to decide if they want to learn everything great grandpa taught their dad
I hc that lupin's first born child would transition and tell their dad he's trans by letting Lupin know he want's to become Arsene Lupin the 4th
Lupin cried he was beyond happy and Fujiko was so happy to have " two wonderful sons"
he started training both of his sons almost immediately after
Goemon:
Marries a lady who does like historical reconstruction stuff and tea ceremonies for tourist and stuff
they just get along though the want to see history survive and be told correctly and respected
they get married almost right away and have this cute traditional wedding and its beautiful
they have a few kids together and Goemon is completely IN LOVE with being a dad
his wife loves it too and is the cutest and most fun mom
they live kind of far out into the countryside but close enough to a few schools and a the store if they need to go
if Goemon had his way they would live in the middle of nowhere but his wife didn't want to be that far away from a city (she won but he says they compromised)
they live in a somewhat big home that is a tad modern with the rest being traditional
they both just like their quiet life (besides the kids being kids ) and maybe having a neighbor down a ways but that's it
his kids find a little wiener dog that looks like Josephine that his kids become attached to and he talks his wife into keeping it "for the kids" and 100% not for him (its the meme of the dad who doesn't want the dog but loves the dog the most )
he also has another bigger dog as a guard dog (Josephine 2 thinks she's the other guard dog as well )
Jigen:
he lives out in the actual middle of nowhere
like no neighbors tons of land on a farm ( someone gave me this hc)
he lives on a farm with things like his own gun range, wine cellar, bbq spot (tons of homes way out in the countryside in US are like this)
the house wouldn't be huge just big enough for a few rooms and a gust room or two incase anyone form the gang wants to stay over
he does invite over everyone every so often to just check in and see everyone
someone said animals but idk I think he'd rather have a gun range than "some friggin animals I has to clean up after" but at most I could see a dog or two as guard dogs and "totally only guard dogs" that he doesn't spoil
Pops:
once Ami moves out he turns her room into a guest room
but it's mainly him having it ready if she needs a place to stay
he retires once Lupin sits him down to have a drink with him like he promised (this happens when Lupins kids are both toddlers and he finally admits he need to slow down (not stop just slow down)
he doesn't marry but he does date a women for a long time

Surprise pokemon
Roark x son reader
Male reader, fluff, child reader
Tumblr media
Roark watched as his toddler tried to feed the gym leaders pokemon in the back yard, struggling with onyx as he was using the cup Roark used for Geodude and cranidos "you gotta use the big cup bud!" He said to the boy who slowly moved and looked surprised at the big bowl.
The thing is, the bowl was half the size of his little body.
(Name) eventually fed all three pokemon and followed his dad back inside "guess whose visiting tonight?" Roark asked as he prepared his son breakfast, the boy in his chair boosted by Roarks rock books, thick textbooks.
"Who?" (Name) asked as the elder placed food infront of him and his own spot at the table "grandpa!"
(Name) bounced happily and did his "grandpa dance" while eating, always excited to see his grandfather, Roark happy they're close.
"There's my little grandson!" Byron said when he came by a few hours later, lifting the boy up and into his arms "are you excited for today!"
(Name) had no clue what the two had planned for him, the boy just excited for grandpa.
Today he was getting his first pokemon.
Little (name) was confused as they went to sandgem town, the two gym leaders happened to friends with The professor who was more than happy to facilitate the tiny boy with a pokemon.
"But I got a pokemon already" (name) said simply and the three adults looked at him confused "no you don't?" Roark asked his son confused and (name) puffed out his cheeks "ya I do! I met him in our back yard!"
"What does this pokemon look like?" Rowan asked crouching before the tiny boy with a pen and paper and the boy drew a very crude picture of... "Are you sure you saw this pokemon?" The professor asked wide eyed and the boy nodded "they are my pokemon!"
"Come out!" (Name) said with a small basket of berries, all of which sweet as the adults stood back and watched as a garchomp came out of the bushes "see! I got a pokemon!" The boy was very proud as the garchomp let him pet him and feed him "by arcieus..." The adults were stunned to say the least as the little boy fed one of the single most dangerous pokemon in the region "have you caught this pokemon?"
(Name) shook his head and tentatively the professor walked to the boy and gave him a pokeball and went back as the pokemon got protective of the tiny boy "you wanna stay with me?" (Name) asked the giant of a pokemon who looked down at the boy blankly before a short nod, after some help from his dad the boy caught the pokemon.
"(Name), would it be possible for you to allow me to study your garchomp?"
(Name) shrugged and held his pokeball "gotta ask him" (name) said simply before releasing his pokemon, the boy and pokemon both quite happy "is there any secret pokemon you have?" Roark asked his son who smiled "I got Lotta friends!"
(Name) by the end of the day showed his family/the professor his "friends"
A garchomp
A ralts
And a strange looking ditto
"A shiny ditto?" Roark really needed to keep a closer eye on his son.
"He's shy about it" (name) said feeding the blob an oran berry "I have so many questions.." Rowan said taking notes and pictures.

I have so much love for Tom biting his men. Like let that man turn his partners into pretty art with his bite marks. I feel like if they could (probably after they all retire) Ron and Chris would flaunt the marks. And Jake would be so bitey with his boyfriend as a result of growing up with them.
Viper being Jake’s grandpa/grandpa figure is one of my favorite things. Viper would definitely be so proud of him and take him to see planes as a child. He’d be so proud of Jake following in his footsteps by winning top gun (I think viper was the first ever top gun).
Jake as baby being held by all his dads in his little chickie themed onesies is to cute for this world. I bet when Tom and Ron shows up to like family days with him (they’re pretending he’s Toms nephew) everybody falls in love with him. Tom and Ron probably have all the wife’s of their coworkers fawning over Jake cause he is the cutest baby/toddler/kid there. And then Jake starting to speak in polish when he’s tired probably have them even more in love with kid cause he’s so cute as a child and he can speak more than one language which is so adorable to everyone.
Chris gets so used to being covered in bites that when they go to beaches he entirely forgets that some people are horrified by it. He gets some weird looks over the years. A few nurse friends of Lucas ask if he’s in a safe environment. He can only laugh and tell them he’s fine. His boyfriends just like to get possessive some days.
Oh Jake is insufferable. It’s not only Bradley that gets bit but Javy too. Bradley gets more permanent marks but Jake will bite Javy’s shoulder if he’s just passing by. He’ll also bite Tom’s shoulder. The first time Cyclone saw it happen he thought he was having a stroke. Genuinely couldn’t figure out what was happening.
Oh Viper loved that kid. He showed up to most of Jake’s things when he could. Was there some days even Tom and Ron were deployed. He helped a lot in California with Jake before David and Lucas moved out. Jake cried at his house when he was 18 and telling him he was gay. Viper could only hold Jake and tell him he didn’t care, but by god be careful in the navy. He’s not there to protect him but his dads will do everything they can.
Jake was a little con artist. He’s a good kid don’t get me wrong but he’s as evil as Tom and Ron both can be. But he has all the wives wrapped around his fingers. His feet honestly never touch the ground when they’re at a navy gathering. Little 8 year old Jake speaking polish at Chris asking when tata will be done shaking peoples hands and the wives all melt and tell Ron he’s an incredible brother in law. (Another lie they came up with) Chris just wings it from place to place and banks not no one asking too many questions and if they do he just lies whatever comes first.
Most people figure it out though. They see the way the three of them watch each other. Know they all love Jake more then an uncle would. More then a best friends kid. No one ever really says anything though. Can’t do that to them. Knows it hasn’t ever affected their flying. Viper helps them out here with that again. He protects them as long as he’s in the Navy. Always stations them in Texas when they’re off the ship. Always puts them together. Later on puts Wolfman and Hollywood down there with them.
Jake get a shit ton of Chick themed things when he’s younger. Some when he’s older as well. None of them ever let him live it down that he marries someone with the call sign rooster. That’s just too perfect.

matthew gray gubler one-shot
𝓲𝓶𝓪𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓮 - ghost of you
𝔀𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 - really sad, loads of crying, like super depresso espresso, flashbacks, ofc lennon gubler, daughter of lennon's from a previous relationship when lennon was a young teenager, and some more crying
𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 - based on 5sos's "ghost of you", instead of a break-up, it will be the suicide of lennon and matthew gray gubler's 25yo daughter, carmella rose and each verse will tell a story of how the gubler and criminal minds family deal with the loss of their daughter and niece.
𝓪𝓾𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓻'𝓼 𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓮 - i remembered i had written this in a different book so i wanted to rewrite it for this one! so i'm sorry that it's another depressing one. as always, flashbacks are italics, lyrics is bold italics and everything else is normal font.

here i am waking up, still can't sleep on your side. there's your coffee cup, the lipstick stain fades with time. if i can dream long enough, you'd tell me i'd be just fine. i'll be just fine.
rhiannon gubler finally peeled open her eyes from her restless three-hour sleep, still not able to sleep on the side of the bed she used to share with her older adult sister, carmella, in their shared bedroom at their l.a house that they lived in with their criminal minds uncles and aunties. she couldn't even look at that side of the bed without getting flashbacks of that night that was coming up to four months ago now. a frown instantly came to her face, just like every other morning when her eyes met with her coffee cup, her bright red lipstick stain still there, unmoved, just even more faded than it was the day before. then, she tried to close her eyes again just to back into this dream where she was being told she'd be just fine.
"...rhi, you need to wake up sweetheart," matthew, rhiannon and carmella's dad whispered softly as he held florianne, the third daughter of matthew and lennon gubler as an annoyed groan came out of rhiannon's mouth as she reluctantly got up
"fine..." rhiannon mumbles and grumbles, staring down at the shirt that was laying in front of her, just hoping that telepathically the shirt would just come to her so she didn't have to move any more than she already had done
matthew however, somehow, got the hint from his newly turned teenage daughter and chucked it to her so rhiannon wouldn't have to move any further.
"...there ya go, rhirhi," matthew spoke soft, smiling sympathetically at his second daughter, knowing today was going to be a really hard day for her
"thanks daddy, i'll be down in a couple, just give me a sec," rhiannon spoke lowly after taking a huge gulp of water, matthew nodding his head and taking that as his cue to leave with florianne so rhiannon could have that second on her own before joining the rest of her family downstairs
just as rhiannon was about to walk downstairs to start her long but hard day with her family, she walked past a photo that was of her and her sister from years ago, when rhiannon was a toddler and when carmella was at least seventeen. it took the now sixteen-year-old a second to recognise that it was of the two of them but as soon as she caught eyes with it, she was brought right back to that day of the photo being taken. even if she was only five years old at the time, it was still a photo that had a memorable story attached to it.
flashback : nine years ago
"...RHIANNON STOP!" carmella, the eldest gubler daughter's contagious laughter and squeals filled out the lounge room as rhiannon, the second gubler daughter chased her throughout the room
carmella weaved through her uncle shemar, Uncle thomas, dad, mom and aunty aj as she tried to get away from her sister, who was still hot on her older sister's tail, both of the girls' laughter ringing through everyone's ears making everyone all laugh and smile
"NEVER!" rhiannon yells out before bursting out into laughter as she had accidentally run into grandpa joe who also started bursting out into laughter
"WHAT DID YOU...rhi, you silly little goose!" carmella abruptly stopped running to turn around to see what had happened, bursting out into even more laughter as she noticed the look on grandpa joe's face and rhi's as carmella placed her hands on her knees as she tried to calm herself down from her laughing fit
however, due to carmella's paused position, it gave little rhiannon the upper hand and she took that opportunity to ram her older sister onto the couch for some cuddles so she could attack her seventeen-year-old sister - the one thing five-year-old rhiannon has been trying to do all morning.
"---CARMELLA, WATCH OUT!" uncle shemar suddenly called out, carmella shooting her uncle the death stare as carmella looks at her four-year-old pocket rocket sister, fear in her teenage eyes as rhiannon jumps onto carmella, the both of them falling onto the couch behind them
"what the--holy crap, rhiannon grace!" carmella squealed as she was finally pinned to the couch as rhiannon started to attack her older sister with cuddles, squishing her cheeks, poking her face as the two sisters started to laugh at the sudden attack of little rhiannon
matthew, the father of the two girls suddenly called out for them to look at him. they do as their told only to see that a photo was being taken which made the two girls giggle after the photo had been taken.
"really, dad? you wanted a photo of rhi and me?" carmella chuckled sarcastically, like the teenager she was as matthew giggled as rhiannon had since fallen asleep on her sister
"i always do caramel, what's wrong with that?" matthew matches his eldest daughter's sass by using a very old nickname, caramel, which was used when people couldn't pronounce carmella's name right - which in turn got matthew an eye-roll reaction from his daughter
"nothing daddio just, why did you have to wait until after rhi attacked me, you could've stopped her!" carmella giggled as she didn't dare move as her rhirhi still remained sleeping on big sister's chest
"why would i want to stop the joyful laughter of my two daughters? doesn't that sound a bit silly to do when the both of you are having that much fun?" matthew crossed his arms, acting all sassy as carmella giggled and rolled her eyes again as she very lovingly watched the way her rhirhi slept so soundly on her chest
"i guess you're right, it's not very often it happens now that i'm seventeen and spending less and less time with you guys cause of school..." carmella trailed off as matthew nodded his head, taking the free spot that was next to his daughters as carmella smiled - matthew had shown her the photo of her and rhiannon
Tumblr media
present-day : rhiannon's pov
i didn't even notice i was even crying until i licked my lips when i lifted my hand up to my face to wipe the remaining tears off my cheeks. i placed the photo frame of me and carmella back down and walked past a mirror. and, sure enough, my entire face was red, puffy and it was obvious i had been crying. i quickly rushed off into the bathroom to wash my face to see if the red and puffiness would subside so mom, dad and florianne wouldn't be able to see that i had been crying. however, just like my tears, i didn't even notice mekhai, my cousin, coming into the bathroom to check up on me until i felt his comforting hand on my back and his small, soft words of comfort despite the fact he was two years younger than me, at thirteen.
"...hey, rhi, you okay cuz?"mehkai whispered softly as i turned around to face my little cousin
"does it look like it...i...i am so sorry mehkai, i shouldn't have--"
"--it's fine cuz, come on, let's sit in the hallway for a bit?"mehkai questioned softly, holding his hand out for me to hold as i smiled, taking his hand in mine we then sat in the hallway floor that had recently been vacuumed
mehkai and i sat in silence for a little while before we started to talk again. the silence, however, was comforting almost since it wasn't just me that had lost my sister. florianne, our younger sister and my criminal minds cousins, like mehkai, had also lost carmella as well, so when mehkai spoke up again, it was strange.
"you ready to go back downstairs to see everyone?"mehkai was soft and careful with his choice of words and i was thankful for that
the context of mehkai's question is that, since we lost carmella four months ago, every second day of every second week, a group of our family would come over to regularly check in on us and the extended criminal minds family since the whole lot of us lived together between a house in los angeles and one in las vegas every week. and this week, it was dad's family that was coming to visit us at our house in las vegas and i was not looking forward to it. the only people i like in dad's immediate family are obviously my grandparents, grandpa john, granny marilyn and my dad's siblings, aunty laura and uncle gray and their partners and kids but no one else. despite that fact though, even the people on dad's side that i didn't like were coming and i was not looking forward to it at all.
"i mean...i guess but, no, not really. the last time we saw those other guys were when we were like, what, seven and six? why is it that we have to see them again now after carmella's died?" i trail off of my question, swallowing the lump resting in my throat as mehkai rubbed my back
"i know rhi but, we'll be able to get through it, i promise, just ignore them as you've always done and just don't pay them any mind," mehkai shrugged with a hopeful look in his eyes as i nodded my head - ignoring my entire family and paying them no mind has been the thing i've been doing since carmella's death so, that should be easy enough
so i drown it out like i always do
matthew, lennon and the rest of the family (gubler and extended criminal minds family) watched uneasily as rhiannon had finally come downstairs to see matthew's side of the family as she sat on the couch. completely disassociated from the conversations going on after she had given hugs to her parents, grandpa john and granny marilyn and her aunties and uncles. even though the conversations were asking about how rhiannon was holding up since it had been four months since carmella's passing, not once did the teenager respond.
"---so, matthew, how is rhiannon doing in regard to the loss of carmella? i mean, it's obviously devastating but, how is she really?" one of matthew's mom's sisters judith, just called out as a pin drop could suddenly be heard from everyone as they all lifted their heads to look at the older lady who was littered with wrinkles and freckles -rhiannon even lifted her head to look at her aunty once removed
thankfully, matthew was able to compose himself quickly enough and spoke up on behalf of his now eldest daughter. answering his aunty's deplorable and outright senseless question about his daughter.
"she's doing the best she can judith, what in the right mind makes you say that out loud though? she's a fif...sixteen-year-old girl who has just gone through a devastating loss alongside the rest of her siblings, who is six and her cousins who are also around that age!" matthew refused to even believe that his aunt judith would ask such a question about his daughter
"i...i'm sorry matthew, i...i was just curious and concerned about my niece, i...i don't understand--"
"--she's barely even your niece, this is the first time you've seen her since she was a baby so shut up," laura, matthew's older sister then speaks up in defence of her younger brother which caused the lounge room to stifle their laughter at laura's ruthless yet nonchalant comment to her aunty
"okay then..." judith trailed off as she then quietened down, lowering herself in her seat, bringing her glass of wine closer to her mouth so she'd know to stop talking and stay like that
"...that's what i thought!" laura snarled as she gave her younger brother, sister-in-law and niece a comforting hug as rhiannon barely reacted which everyone noticed, including judith but didn't say anything about it
"who really cares about how i feel anyway, no one even tries to care anymore..." for the first time in what felt like forever, rhiannon speaks up only to then get up off of the couch that she sat with mehkai, pheonix and florianne on before storming away
this broke matthew's heart along with lennon's, and the rest of the criminal minds family's. maybe it truly wasn't the right time to be talking about rhiannon and bringing her up in these conversations if she still felt as though her feelings weren't cared about. which, of course, they were, but maybe not in the best way in an accidental way of just wanting to see rhiannon again and not have her stuck in her room all the time.
florianne's pov
my heart sank and broke as i saw the way my older sister rhiannon refused to eat or drink anything anymore. i used to think it was her just feeling unwell as, when i don't feel well, i struggle to eat too but, because it's now constantly happening, it's no longer a joke or her being sick anymore. she doesn't even sit with me, mommy, daddy and the other cousins at dinner anymore. we were currently in our los angeles house again for the week and i knew that rhiannon wanted to go home. i did too in all honesty even though our los angeles house was also ours because we do come here every other week when we're not at our home in las vegas.
"...florianne, why are you here princess? shouldn't you be with mommy, daddy and your cousins in the lounge room with the rest of the family?" rhiannon's hoarse voice spoke as she stared out into nothing and i shook my head
"nah-uh, it was boring and aunty laura and uncle gray were trying to kick judith out for talking smack about you. besides, i don't like it when you're sad so i wanted to make you happy again," i spoke softly as rhiannon looked up at me and for a split second, she kind of looked happy before her eyes cast back down again
"well, thanks for trying to check in on me florianne but, i'm fine, princess. you should head back into the lounge room though before mommy and daddy wonder where you are..." rhiannon trailed off as she played with her fingers making me sigh, shaking my head - yes, i'm six but that doesn't mean i'm stupid by any means
"...rhiannon, we get you're upset, we all are but, you've got to do more than just not eat and ignore what happened. please, for your own good!" i beg just like any six-year-old begs as rhiannon sighs loudly and bites her lip
"i'm trying florianne, princess, i really am. it's just easier to drown it out by not eating anything and pretending that nothing wrong happened, ya know?" rhiannon whimpers at the end, my eyes widen and with all the strength i had considering i'm smaller than rhi, i pull her in for a hug without hesitation as she starts to cry
"ssh, it's okay rhi. we deal with things differently but not eating anything is not okay, it's not safe, okay?" i say softly, rhiannon nodding her head on my shoulder as i smile softly
"i wanna go home, home," she whispered as my heart broke for my older sister and i nodded my head, agreeing despite how we both loved living in our house in los angeles as well, i also wanted to go home, home
matthew's pov
dancing through our house with the ghost of you and i chase it down, with a shot of truth. dancing through our house with the ghost of you.
lennon, rhiannon, florianne and i were back at our home in las vegas after being in our los angeles house for a week like always with the rest of the criminal minds family. we were all now coddled up on the couch watching home videos of when we were a family from when it was just lennon, me and carmella, to when it was lennon, me, carmella and rhiannon, to when it was lennon, me, carmella, rhiannon and florianne to what it is now with the criminal minds cousins. the majority of the videos we were watching now were of when it was just lennon, me and carmella with a couple including a baby rhiannon which started to bring back a lot of so many old memories that should be making us upset but doing the complete opposite. for florianne, she was finally seeing videos and photos of her older sister carmella and some of rhiannon when they were her age and younger.
"...this is so sweet daddy..." rhiannon mumbles as she saw a video of when she and carmella met for the first time after rhiannon had just been born, florianne also looks at the video of her two older sisters in awe
"...isn't it, rhiannon?" i smiled at my sixteen-year-old as my six-year-old also seemed shocked at seeing their older sister carmella look so young while rhiannon looked even younger as she had just been born
"do you have any more videos of me as a baby with carmella?" rhiannon then questions as she looks up at me as i smile and bit my lip, lennon rubs my back as i give her a small smile
"uh...yea-yeah, there is more but, i think they are at the house in los angeles with uncle nathan and aunty aj because they wanted to show them to mehkai and pheonix but also because there are also videos on there of carmella with your cousins when they were all born as well, or they could be with aunty laura, or even uncle gray," i responded as rhiannon's eyes sparkled almost like they used to
"well, i know we don't see uncle nathan and aunty aj and the boys until...next week or-or the week after that but, could we possibly drive over and watch those videos with them?" rhiannon then asks as florianne also seemed to like that idea and agreed with her older sister as i chuckled breathlessly
"i don't know rhi, it is a personal moment for them but, i can still text uncle nathan, uncle gray and aunty laura and ask but if they say no, you gotta respect that okay you two?" i spoke sternly but still lovingly, the both of them nodding their heads as i smiled - my girls were perfection as i grabbed my phone from my pocket and texted the group chat i had with my siblings and the extended criminal minds family
within seconds of texting the group chat as another video of carmella with her sisters and cousins played on our tv, i had gotten a response back. both gray and laura (sister) had said that they didn't have the videos and nathan responded by saying that he and aj did at their las vegas house just across the road, reminding me that the andersens had travelled up those two hours from los angeles to be in their vegas house for this week and that it was completely okay for the gubler girls to come over to see the rest of the home movies of their sister carmella. i smiled at the responses and thanked my brother and sister and then let nathan know that the girls would be three minutes.
"well, daddy, have uncles responded yet?" florianne speaks up for the first time as i giggle at my youngest daughter
"yes, they have florianne and, whilst uncle gray and aunty laura don't have them, thankfully, uncle nathan does have them and they are just down the road visiting vegas for the week so we are allowed to watch the rest of the home videos of carmella with them. i told them we'll be there in three so, we better be quick, rhiannon, you think you'd be able to get socks and shoes on florianne in a minute?" i challenged rhiannon as she nodded her head, rushing over to the foyer to grab them as i just laughed at how quick, like carmella, my little rhi was
"did you seriously think i had stopped being fast all of a sudden?" rhiannon quips as she comes back from the foyer with florianne's socks and shoes, as well as a pair of everlast slides for herself as i giggle, kissing the top of her head as i run to grab mine
"no, i didn't, cheeky bugger!" i giggle, shaking my head as lennon also laughs at our eldest daughter
getting ready in a minute and a half, we were out the door and on our short walk over to nathan and aj's las vegas house where the cousins, mehkai and pheonix awaited rhiannon and florianne so they could all bunch up on the couch cuddling together.
by the time aj had led us into the house, rhiannon and florianne were already rushing to the couch to cuddle with mehkai and pheonix as i laughed, hugging aj and then nathan who had gotten up from the couch.
"aren't they just a little bit excited and we saw them a few days ago," nathan laughed as we pulled out of our hug and i nodded my head
"i know right, besides, thank you so much for letting them see the rest of carmella's videos, nathan and aj. i completely forgot you were in vegas this week. even though the majority of these videos are of carmella with mehkai and pheonix, i know how badly they both, rhiannon especially, want to watch them. especially since rhi was so entranced by the video of her and carmella first meeting each other after she was born..." i trailed off as they both nodded their heads understandingly
"...oh, don't even need to thank us matthew, it's their sister, they'll always be welcome to come over to watch them throughout the week whenever they feel the need to," aj spoke up this time, giving me a small wink and nudge, nathan then giving me the same look as i chuckled and nodded my head as the four of us, nathan, aj, me and lennon moved into the lounge room where the kids were already waiting to watch the videos as a video was already paused ready to be watched
two hours later after watching videos of carmella, majority of them with the andersen boys, i could tell that my girls were starting to get tired, none more so than rhiannon. the last one was halfway through when i had picked up rhiannon, deciding that it was time to take them home to put them to bed. despite the fact that rhiannon was a teenager, i still picked her up as she was still relatively light whilst lennon grabbed florianne, nathan pausing the video to say goodbye.
nathan's pov
matthew and lennon were halfway home when as i watched them on the few-minute walk back to theirs that rhiannon was starting to stir in her dad's arms. that was when i decided i'd follow after them as aj, agreed to put our boys up to bed. it seemed as if whilst florianne was fast asleep, rhiannon was starting to wake up again on the walk back. the five of us had walked into the gubler household when lennon had placed florianne down as she then grabbed the three adults a drink of beer. that was until rhiannon was fully awake after matthew had placed her on the couch.
"daddy, get up!" rhiannon suddenly says enthusiastically as i am taken aback with confusion
"why rhiannon? i thought you were tired, besides, uncle nathan's here to have a beer with mom and me!" i giggle as i watch matthew put his beer down anyway and walk over to his daughter, grabbing her hands as rhiannon then offers an explanation
"i wanna dance daddy, please?" rhiannon mumbled out, her cute puppy eyes that either me or her dad taught her making butterflies flutter inside our tummies
"why do you wanna dance rhi? it's getting late, theoretically, we should all be going to sleep right now," matthew spoke as i chuckled quietly as rhiannon's mood had seemingly crashed instantly before speaking again
"the last four months, when everyone else or whoever else was here would go to sleep, i would stay awake, down here for however long and just dance alongside the videos we'd watch of carmella dancing as if it was normal and like she was still here. i-i would then, harm myself, clean it all up, patch myself up and then crawl back upstairs to my room to cry myself back to sleep. only to semi-repeat the routine over again the next day when it got really scary one day as some mornings i'd accidentally cut too deeply until mehkai or even sometimes florianne would shake me awake after finding me collapsed on the kitchen floor..." rhiannon's voice wavers at the end as we all notice her getting teary-eyed
i watched as matthew shuffled himself closer to his daughter as they swayed side to side as he pulled her in for a hug, holding her tightly so that she knew she was safe.
"...oh, princess...baby, is this the first time you're telling this to anyone?" lennon and i gasp quietly as we hear rhiannon mutter a "yes" on matthew's shoulder as he rubbed her back
"you need to tell your criminal minds uncles and aunties babe. i mean, when was the last time you cut yourself?" matthew asked worriedly, he had no clue that his daughter had even started self-harming let alone had the thought to go through with it
"i-i don't remember, last week maybe?" rhiannon trailed off as her voice got caught in her throat, she was about to cry again and my heart broke
"can you show me the scars baby?" matthew whispered as rhiannon nodded, lifting up her hoodie which uncovered red patches of semi-infected scars as well as ones that had seemingly healed as matthew's breath got caught in his throat
"babe, you need to stop with the self-harming, it's not going to fix anything, okay?" matthew pleaded as he let the hoodie cover rhiannon's lower body again as she nodded her head in agreement
"i'll try my hardest," rhiannon muttered as matthew solemnly smiled as did i as matthew kissed her head
we then all danced for five more minutes before we were so tired that we fell asleep on the couch. obviously not making it back home, i texted aj in advance, letting her know about the situation and she understood perfectly.
cleaning up today, found that old zeppelin shirt you wore when you ran away, and no one could feel your hurt.
due to rhiannon and the kids having to go back to school but rhiannon not really in the mood, we decided to bring her with us for some reshoots that the criminal minds cast was doing in los angeles whilst the other kids were all at matthew and lennon's house homeschooling them with a tutor, except for florianne who went into her school. however, i decided to stay back and help clean around the gubler household and in particular, rhiannon and carmella's shared room which had been untouched for way too long since i had no reason to be on the criminal minds set. knowing that they, as a family, had handled their grief differently than me and my family did and didn't clean up after themselves, i thought it would be a great way for me to also loosen up but in a productive way.
it wasn't until i walked into carmella's part of the room (rhiannon and carmella slept in the same bed but had different sides of the bedroom) that i could really sense that rhiannon was still very much grieving four months on. carmella's side of the room was absolutely trashed, and last time i was here, it was as clean as clean could be considering a fifteen and twenty-four-year-old shared this room together. this then gave the thought that, this mess must have happened recently and that it couldn't have been florianne or my two boys as this mess was done in a way that wasn't made by a six-year-old or two boys. giving me the hint that it was rhiannon that had made the mess as she had calculated it perfectly. rhiannon was the closest to carmella, they were the two eldest despite the fact that carmella was thirteen when rhiannon was born and were sisters from different fathers, those two were like two peas in a pod, they got along so well. they barely ever fought which is why matthew and lennon made the collective decision alongside the two girls that they'd share a bedroom until they decided that they wanted their own rooms once carmella got into her late teen years and early adult years.
however, it seemed as if they loved sharing a bedroom together so they never got their own separate rooms. so, when carmella died, it was the worst for rhiannon. of course, gia was devastated but, she's still a kid, being only six years old, it's harder for her to understand what was happening especially considering by the time she was born, carmella was in her early young adult years and should have been in the stage of her life where she wasn't always at home with her family even though she had major age gaps between both siblings but she was home and always with her sisters. everyone just knew that rhiannon had a harder time coming to terms with carmella's death than florianne did because one, she was old enough to really understand what was going on and two, she realistically spent the most time with their older sister since they shared a room together and no one, even florianne found it offensive.
after about a good hour or so, everything on carmella's side of the room had been restored and cleaned by me to my satisfaction and what i hoped would be rhiannon's. everything except carmella's wardrobe. which seemed like it had been completely untouched due to her wardrobe door being closed. but, when i opened it, it absolutely shocked me that all the clothes came toppling out of her wardrobe onto the floor in front of me. the main item of clothing i noticed was the led zeppelin shirt that, she, carmella, was wearing the day she ran away and then later killed herself wearing. i had actually not been aware or told that the police had given back all of the clothes that carmella was wearing on the day but, i can't lie, it gave me some relief to say that they did return the clothes. as since i am carmella's uncle, i hadn't seen this shirt in what felt like ages and it brought tears to my eyes just looking at it and seeing it without all the blood that had previously been on it. it was pristine and clean yet it still smelt completely like my niece, as if she never left.
"...uncle nathan...i'm...home..." rhiannon's voice rang through the upstairs level but stopped when she realised where i was
"...you didn't tell me that the police had given you her clothes back...the shirt's clean..." i whisper as tears stream down my cheeks as i hand my niece the clean zeppelin shirt, knowing it meant a deal of a lot more to rhiannon as i watched her face change from confusion to an emotion i wasn't familiar with from her
"...that's because i-i washed it, uncle nathan, i washed it after the police returned it..." rhiannon's voice, which had changed to a small, broken voice struck with grief came out of her mouth, my head tilting in confusion as nicky had now come in after hearing the commotion
"...oh, rhi, babe, you didn't need to do that!" i sniffled, wiping my tears away knowing that it would set rhiannon and her dad off, wrapping her tightly in my grip as matthew watched
"yes, i-i had to uncle nathan. the-the blood everywhere was awful and i-i just needed it to be clean! i couldn't let it rest in her wardrobe knowing that her blood was still all over it," rhiannon softly cries into my shoulder as i brush my fingers through her hair to help calm her down
i had a feeling there was something she still hadn't told her dad and mom about that night four months ago because she was supposedly in her room with my two boys, mehkai and pheonix, her sister florianne and the other cousins but according to frankie, adam's daughter, rhiannon wasn't even anywhere near hers and carmella's room but somewhere else, outside of the house.
"rhi, is there something you're still hiding from your mommy and daddy from the night carmella died?" i spoke carefully and softly, sniffling quietly as rhiannon took in a tearful shaky breath as she nodded her head which worried matthew and i
"ye-yes..." rhiannon trailed off as she started to tell the story, lennon joining us as the three of us were incredibly worried
flashback | four months ago: rhiannon's pov | trigger warning
everyone thought i was playing with mehkai, pheonix, florianne and uncle gray's son, but, in reality, i wasn't. i was on a walk to clear my head when i realised that carmella had turned her life360 off, making me turn back around the path i was walking to run back home to ask uncle adam, who was home from a criminal minds filming session in los angeles with the cast, to ask if he had any idea where carmella was and why she had turned her life360 off. on the run back over, i called carmella, seven times but not once did she pick up, making me run back home even faster.
slamming the door closed as i rushed into the house in los angeles, uncle adam was right up my side in a panic, grabbing the tops of my arms as i breathed heavily
"what's wrong rhi, you nearly woke up florianne and frankie, is everything okay?" uncle adam asked worriedly as i attempted to get my breath back as i held onto uncle adam to keep myself steady
"where-where's carmella? have-have you seen her? she's turned her life360 off when she wasn't supposed to!" i was speaking at what felt like a news reporter who was running out of breath as uncle adam gave me a worried look of confusion
"pardon babe? what did you say?" adam asked with a sorry smile on his face and i gulped and took in another deep breath before asking again
"i said, where's carmella? have you seen her? she turned her life360 off when she wasn't supposed to," i repeated as uncle adam's eyes instantly widened
"umm, i did see her leave but, i reminded her to keep her life360 on and she said she had no plans in turning it off, have you tried calling her?" uncle adam was just as confused as i am as i groaned
"yes, i have! i tried seven times uncle adam! all of them went straight to voicemail and i don't know why or where she is!" i squealed out as i was on the verge of crying, i just wanted to know where my older sister was
"okay, crap, that isn't good babe. okay, rhi, calm down as best as you can, stay here with the kids just in case she comes home and i'll ring matthew and your uncles and the rest of the aunties to let them know. if she does come home, call or text the group chat and everything will be fine, okay?" uncle adam calmly plans as i nodded my head in agreement as i caught my breath
"okay, see you soon uncle adam," i spoke breathlessly as uncle adam ran out of the house, closing the door behind him as i then just anxiously sat back on the couch
florianne, frankie, mehkai, pheonix and the rest of the cousins were all sleeping easy on the floor next to me - as i wished that whilst carmella was okay that i'd get to the level of calm that my sister and cousins were in.
it had been twenty minutes later when the door creaked open. instantly, i calmed down knowing that it was carmella. however, instantly i noticed something wasn't okay, she was unusually quiet and withdrawn.
"carmella, you okay?" i call out quietly but still loud enough that carmella heard me and quiet enough that i didn't wake up the kids
"yeah-yeah, i'm fine, thanks rhi. i'll just be upstairs in the bathroom taking a shower," carmella mumbled as i nodded my head, seemed normal for carmella i guess, she was such a clean freak
"okay. i'm just gonna call uncle adam to let him know you're home," i called back, carmella not responding, just running up the stairs which made me worry
just as i went to call uncle adam, i was startled, just me though, by two loud bangs coming from upstairs. leaving the kids, i ran up the stairs, after making sure that those bangs didn't wake the kids up, as quickly as i could only to be faced with probably my biggest nightmare; carmella covered in her own blood.
"carmella!" i screamed at the top of my lungs, running over to her, just hoping that what i was seeing was only imaginary and that it was like all those crime shows that dad and our uncles and aunties acted in
however, i unlocked my phone and instantly called uncle adam, just hoping he would pick up
uncle adam
"...nics? did you find carm--"
"--call 911 *rhiannon sobs* call 911! she tried to kill herself! please i beg uncle adam, just call 911 and get here as quickly as you can!"
i sob through my phone as i then hear the car door open as uncle adam starts the car up so he could get back home quickly
"rhi-rhiannon, stay on the line rhi! put the phone on speaker and pressurize carmella's bleeding. okay, stay calm and listen to me, stay on the phone with me!"
i struggle to calm down but i try my hardest as i hear uncle adam's voice. he calms his voice down so i can calm down as i gulp and listen to him. i turn my phone to speakerphone, throwing it down in front of me.
i go down onto the floor, grabbing carmella and laying her over my body as i rested my back against the furthest wall from the door. i then put pressure on her bleeding just like i was told to by uncle adam but there was just so much of it that i couldn't seem to figure out where it was coming from.
"rhi, have you done that? are you doing that?"
uncle adam's calm voice comes back as i verbally respond, wiping my tears with my shoulder as i was getting covered in the blood very quickly
"yes, i-i have. uncle adam *sobs* there is so much blood, please-please hurry!"
i whimper, another rough sob leaving my mouth as i try to figure out where the blood was coming from but also trying to make sure that the younger kids weren't hearing this.
"okay-okay, it's okay rhi, calm down babe! i know there's a lot of blood, just calm down. i'm less than a minute away so stay calm and keep on applying pressure. i have also speed-dialled the paramedics and they are less than two minutes away. breathe, stay calm and make sure carmella stays awake. okay, i'm nearly there!"
how uncle adam was staying so calm as this is his niece, is way beyond my knowledge but it was so helpful as i sat on the cold tiled and bloody bathroom floor with my older sister as she bled out onto my lap as i panicked. sobbing in fear that she was probably already dead - hoping to god or jesus or just someone that mehkai, pheonix, florianne, frankie and the other cousins couldn't hear this.
"uncle adam, the-the kids are all downstairs, i-i don't know if they can hear this or not! i-i don't w want them to! what do i do about them?!" i panic, sobbing into my shoulder again as uncle adam breathes before responding
"as bad as it sounds babe, don't worry about them, your main focus is keeping carmella awake and her eyes open. do not let your sister close her eyes. i'm getting out of the car now and i'll deal with the kids and frankie when i get there. just focus on your older sister sweetheart!"
uncle adam spoke calmly again as i mumbled a "yes", completely forgetting about my sister and cousins and just focusing all my attention on carmella
and, just like uncle adam promised, less than a minute later he had come running into the house, alongside uncle shemar, straight to the bathroom upstairs where carmella and i were.
"rhiannon!" uncle adam calls out, i look up from caressing carmella's hair out of her face as i don't even take into consideration how bloody i looked from my lap upwards
"what-what do i do uncle adam?" i whimper out, carmella's body trembling due to my own body trembling as i breathe shakily
"you've done all you can do babe!" uncle adam whispers as he pulls me up, softly placing carmella down on the floor as he pulls me into his embrace, not caring that i was now getting blood all over him
i then looked up to see that uncle shemar had turned the shower off as i connected the dots. that's why she turned the shower on, she wanted to distract me from hearing her kill herself by thinking she was having a shower...
"she wasn't taking a shower!" i cover my mouth as i loudly sob into uncle adam's embrace as he squeezes me even tighter, also feeling uncle shemar next to uncle adam and me
"ssh, it's gonna be okay rhi, stay calm and breathe babe, breathe!" uncle adam whispers as i whimper
i then notice that uncle shemar had also found what she had used. and out of anything, it was a gun. how did i not hear the gunshot? the shower wasn't even...wait, is that what the first bang was before she hit the floor?
"the paramedics are here! adam, clean you and rhiannon up, while i take the kids into matthew and lennon's office while you then after getting changed, let in the paramedics. after that, keep the kids distracted and i'll stay in here with rhiannon as she was the one to find carmella, understand?" uncle shemar devised as both uncle adam and i just nodded our heads, the both of us getting changed so uncle adam could then distract the kids whilst i stayed here with uncle shemar
i spoke up again, "what-what about mommy and daddy, and uncle nathan, what about the aunties and the other uncles? who's gonna tell them?" i ask breathlessly as uncle shemar looks at me softly
"they've already been called the moment 911 was called, your parents and then nathan are carmella's emergency contacts, which then means that they already know and are on their way home already," uncle shemar explained as i gasped, they couldn't know that it was me that found carmella, that would devastate them even more
"please-please don't tell daddy and mommy or uncle nathan or anyone that it was me that found carmella. even if it means you have to hide my bloodied clothes. they cannot know, it'll devastate them, and they'll think it was my fault!" i panicked as uncle shemar went down to his knees, bringing me down with him, holding my hands tight
"i promise rhiannon, i won't tell dad, mom, uncle nathan or the others, they'll never find your bloodied clothes but they will absolutely not and ever think that it was your fault if you were to ever tell them or if they ever found out on their own, okay?" uncle shemar made me understand as i nodded my head as tears streamed down my cheeks, uncle shemar tried to wipe them away
uncle adam then returned with crispy clean clothes at the right moment as i got changed and then immediately, in my clothes hamper, hid away my bloodied clothes.
then, ten minutes later i was asked to be evaluated by the paramedics and tell them exactly what happened and what i'd heard. absolutely hell on earth. i was in hysterics the entire time and i was just blanking on everything about myself for the patient assessment.
"...rhi-rhiannon, are you okay babe?" daisy, the female paramedic quickly corrected herself as she asked kindly, looking up, a tear streamed down my cheek
"i-i was too late... i could have stopped it from happening... it-it's all my fault," i breathe out, a couple more tears streaming down my cheek as my hands shake
"it's not your fault rhiannon. you just thought that carmella was simply taking a shower. do not blame yourself for your sister's death. there was no way you could have predicted she was going to go through with her act of suicide. no one predicts it, no matter how well you know the person. especially when she's the eldest sibling with younger siblings and cousins in the house," daisy softly responds, giving me a hand to hold as i nod my head
"i-i just wish i was more aware," i gulp as i feel uncle adam and uncle shemar hug me from behind, making me cry even more
"we do too, rhiannon," my two uncles say at the same time as i dig my chin into their embrace across my chest, trying to stop my tears
"dai-daisy, have my parents and other uncles and aunties been called?" i shakily ask as daisy looks up, giving me a soft look
"yes, they all have. obviously, they are a couple of hours away in vegas so it'll take them a few hours to get here but, everyone has been called. and your parents have also been called as uncle adam said earlier. everything is going to be okay, rhiannon, you'll see your parents, uncles and aunties soon. but for now, uncle adam and uncle shemar are gonna take care of you," daisy spoke with a sadned smile as she then left for she had to now take carmella's body and place her onto the stretcher
trigger warning over
matthew, lennon and uncle nathan were shocked and taken aback by the new news that it was their own daughter and niece that had found carmella and was with her in those very last moments of her life those four months ago. it horrified matthew that his second eldest was a witness to what his eldest had done to herself. that it was his fifteen-year-old that was the one covered in his twenty-four year-old's blood. that it was his fifteen-year-old that held and rocked his twenty-four-year-old as she died. that his twenty-four-year-old died in the arms of his fifteen-year-old daughter.
"...i-i'm sorry i didn't tell you, mommy, daddy and uncle nathan. uncle shemar promised me he'd never say anything and i-i just never could say anything and the blood-bloodied clothes are still in my clothes hamper...i-i just got so scared, mommy, daddy, i'm so sorry," rhiannon stuttered out as matthew shook his head as lennon and nathan bit their lips, swallowing down their tears
"please...please don't apologise rhi. i-i am sorry that daddy, mommy and uncle nathan were so far away from you that uncle adam and uncle shemar had to be the ones you needed to call. whilst i am forever grateful to them that they were there to take care of you and help you, it should have been me and mammy. you don't need to apologise for anything baby girl. i am so proud of you and glad that you were the last person your older sister saw and that you also made sure that your siblings and cousins were taken care of and made unaware of everything going on. never apologise about this ever again!" matthew's voice wavered the entire time he spoke as he grabbed his fifteen-year-old daughter, pulling her in for a hug as they both cried, lennon and uncle nathan joining shortly after

rhiannongracegubler we're too young, too dumb, to know things like love, but i know better now

carmella rose, you were my best friend, in the entire world. i say were and not "is" or "are" and it still confuses and bothers me that i have to use past tense when i speak about you otherwise my english teacher squeals fury and grammar police rules at me. because she says i now have to talk about you in the past because you're no longer with us. i won't lie, when she first told me that, i blew up right in her face in front of the rest of my class and i was sent to detention yet, i didn't get grounded by dad or mom (not even uncle shemar, uncle nathan or aunty aj). if anything, they were proud of me for standing up for our family and for you. i'll always stand up for your name, caramel, even if some people still can't pronounce it correctly and have to call you by that ridiculous nickname of caramel and not carmella. losing you felt almost like i was in that scene of criminal minds in which dr reid's girlfriend had just been killed by the unsub and dr reid was on his knees sobbing, most likely rocking her back and forth just muttering his girlfriend's name and for her to just wake up, and for everything to be okay again. because that's exactly what it was like except, you didn't get shot due to a murder-suicide by diana, the unsub but by the gun that you held in your own hands. if only we were in the world of criminal minds and i could, i would have done everything in my willpower to convince everyone that you just faked your death as emily prentiss did. but, that's not how life works, especially if you take it away from yourself that easily and unethically. whilst i'll never be able to understand why you decided to take a gun to your head whilst our sister and cousins was home along with me, i can't hate you for it. whilst i hate the idealisation of dying at the hands of a gun in your possession, i can't hate you specifically for doing it. because i love you carmella. i love you too much to hate you for killing yourself. there was obviously a reason as to why you did it. and it's valid, i just wish you had told me sooner or given me the letter earlier so even if i did try to convince you otherwise, i would have been better equipped and would have had more knowledge. yet, you still wouldn't have told me because you knew that i was the only person to convince you to stay alive. which isn't what you wanted. you didn't want to stay, you didn't want me to convince you to take that gun away from your head, hence why you made me think you were having a shower when you then shot yourself. you were my older sister carmella, you taught me everything i know. you taught me that the characters daddy and uncle shemar play on the tv and all the unsubs and injuries they get are all fake and that they're okay in real life. it was you that taught me to not be scared to watch daddy get hurt on the tv because he was always going to be sitting right next to me on the couch or over the phone on facetime. you taught me that no matter what, you were never going to leave me even if you were gone physically. i still see and hear you everywhere carmella, my fear has since changed from the monsters on criminal minds to forgetting what you look and sound like. if i ever forgot how you sounded or how beautiful you looked, i don't know if i'd be able to continue. i love you so much carmella, i hope you're looking after all those criminal minds characters and keeping them all in line. daddy, mommy, florianne and i love and miss you every day. love, rhiannon grace gubler 🤍

matthewgraygubler rhiannon grace gubler, no matter what you say about your older sister, it always makes me cry! this was perfect rhirhi and i'm so proud of you for keeping your older sister alive every chance you can get 🤍
nathanandersen rhi, this killed me and it hasn't stopped killing me. exactly like your dad, any time you talk about carmella, it always makes me cry. you'll never forget how beautiful she was or what she sounded like, i promise, you'll always hear her voice and see her voice somewhere, i can guarantee you 🤍
ajcooke carmella loves you so much, rhi and she is so proud of you! the way you were able to articulate your sister's suicide is beyond anyone my age, let alone yours, you are such an intelligent girl 🤍
so i drown it out like i always do, dancing through our house with the ghost of you
it's now been around seven/eight months since carmella's suicide and i had since turned seventeen and it has started to feel like everything is starting to go back to normal again. the family's stop button has been pressed play again after being on stop for so long. i stopped cutting and self-harming which i'm glad i stopped doing. i stopped pretty much the night that dad, mom and uncle nathan found out but, i still occasionally, every other night, depending on whether we're in los angeles or vegas, go downstairs to watch the home videos of carmella on the tv when i struggle to sleep without her next to me. the way i "drown out" my grief is i no longer ignore it and i actually allow it. i embrace and acknowledge my grief, letting it be until it passes and then i get up, dust myself off and smile and laugh again without feeling guilty about it. even though florianne and my cousins but, florianne in particular, is still six, turning seven in a few months, she was now starting to finally understand carmella's death and why she had done it from the letter that had been written that we showed her. the cousins in the criminal minds family and my biological family were also now starting to finally understand as well. whilst it was hard to tell, especially at how much they all cried, it was healing in a way to explain it to them in the big kid/adult way that it had been explained to me even though i'm still a kid by techical means even at seventeen years old.
"...watching back these videos still shock me at how much of a talented dancer carmella was....i'm shocked she didn't pursue it professionally..." i trailed off as tonight, the family decided that we were going to do an all-nighter of watching the older home videos and some newer ones that had recently been uncovered but having a pass on the dancing ourselves
"...i know, rhi, your sister and cousin was really talented," dad smiled, bitting his lip as all the memories came rushing back, for all of us and different memories too
"do you think she's dancing up there in the sky mommy?" florianne questioned as she cuddled up to mehkai and pheonix who nodded their heads in agreement with their cousin
before mom could respond, i responded instead, "i'm sure she is florianne, mehkai and pheonix. and i think she's finally happy again, no longer needing to fake anything..." i trail off as dad pushes me into him and uncle nathan and i smiled as a group hug had been initiated
"...we love you carmella!" we all mutter and giggle as we continued to watch the videos just like we do every night
and i'll chase it down, with a shot of truth, that my feet don't dance like they did with you.
sure, dancing with my sister florianne, my cousins and dad wasn't the same as dancing with carmella but, it was just as beautiful.
"...carmella would be so proud of how you've recovered in these last seven/eight months. we all are rhiannon, you already went through hell and back with the initial loss of carmella but also with the secret that you had been holding onto the whole time as you were the one that saw everything happen in front of you and was with carmella as she died. yet, you still managed to get back on track and find your happiness again. something you said three months ago, give or take, that you wouldn't even be able to do because you always said you were the happiest with carmella, yet, here we are, sevenish months later and look how happier you are," dad smiled emotionally, wiping a tear of his away as well as one from my own cheek as i can't help but smile at him and the rest of my family
"yeah but, that was only because you guys pointed me in the right direction and didn't give up on me as you promised. i love you so much," i say, a tearful giggle falling out of my mouth as uncle nathan, followed by my sister, cousins and everyone else as they all jump on me
now i understand why you were constantly dancing, carmella. you were dancing with the ghost of your soul that was already dead before you reunited it with the one that was still alive and now, the rest of the family can dance with the completed ghost of you.

this was a mammoth to rewrite but i genuinely enjoyed writing it which says a lot about me i think considering i write so many depressing one-shots. but, i promise, the next one-shot will be less depressing and more happy and fluffy, i promise.
ok ily bye xx

Dragon Ball Ships Week 2023 - Day 6: Vacation
Title: Family Getaway Characters: Son Goku,Chi-Chi, Son Misaki (OC), Son Goten, Bulla Briefs, Son Gohan, Videl and Son Pan Pairings: Goku/Chi-Chi; Bulla/Goten and Gohan/Videl Summary: The Son family gets together for a weekend trip and Goten has some news to share.
Cross-posted on AO3 and FFN
“Misaki, let’s go. We’ll be late if we don’t leave now. Your brothers are already waiting for us.” Chi-Chi said loudly from outside. “I’m here.” The fourteen-year old girl walked out of their house on Mount Paozu. She was carrying a large bag. “Why are you taking this bag with you? We’re only staying for the weekend.” “I know, but I need them, trust me. Thanks, dad.” She smiled at Goku. “I’m so happy to see Gohan and Goten again, it’s been a while. It sucks that they live in the city now.” “I miss them too.” “It’s been over a year already, but our house is so empty without Goten. I don’t have anyone else to bother anymore.” “It’s not the same without him, but I’m glad he found a good wife. He said he has a surprise for us, but wouldn’t tell me no matter how much I begged. He wanted to see our reactions.” “My guess is that Bulla is pregnant.” “Do you think so?” Chi-Chi beamed in happiness. “That would be amazing! Another grandchild in our family, to keep Pan some company.” “Mom, Pan is seven already. I don’t think they will keep each other company, to be honest.” “Maybe it’s time for Gohan and Videl to have another child then. What do you think, Goku?” “I think I’m hungry.” He scratched the back of his neck and smiled, followed by the two most important woman to him right away. “Oh dad, mom meant Gohan having another child.” Misaki couldn’t stop laughing. “Not everything is about food.” “I’m just really, really hungry. But about Pan becoming an older sister, I think it would be nice.” “Yeah, it would.” Chi-Chi glanced inside the house. “Are you two ready?” “Yes.” Father and daughter said together, and he put his arm around her shoulders. “Great.” She closed the door and then sat down beside Goku in the car. “Then let’s go.” **** A peaceful sensation filled Chi-Chi’s body as she stepped out of the car when they arrived at the beach a few hours later. Goku stretched his arms up while Misaki got out of the car. “Oh how I needed to stretch my legs.” “If you’re already complaining about them at fourteen, I can’t even imagine how you will be when you get older.” A familiar voice echoed, bringing a large grin to her lips. “Goten!” She ran to him and hugged him tight. “I should smack you for being so rude to your youngest sister.” “I missed you too, Saki.” He returned the hug. “It’s been a while.” “It’s so good to know you don’t miss your parents.” Chi-Chi teased. “Only your sister.” “Of course I miss you both too. Life in West City is hectic.” “Then why don’t you move back to the countryside? It’s much more peaceful there.” “I would in a heartbeat, but Bulla prefers to live in the city. She grew up there and it’d be a tough change for her. But we’re definitely considering buying a house there, so we can go sometimes.” “Oh, I’d love that.” “Uncle Goten, daddy is… Grandpa!” Pan flew towards Goku and the impact brought them both down to the floor. “Hey.” “Panny, take it easy. You’re not a toddler anymore.” “Let her be, son. I can take much more weight on an impact.” “This is true. What did Gohan want again, Panny?” “Oh right.” The girl stood up. “He wanted to talk to you, that’s all I know.” “Alright.” Goten turned to his parents. “Let’s go inside, mom and dad. We saved the biggest and best room for you.” “What about me?” Misaki asked behind him. “You’re gonna sleep on the floor in the living room.” “What the…! I will kill you if you actually do that.” “Mom, is she always like this at home?” “Shut up!” She slapped him in the back of his head. “Ouch!” “I’m just as a Saiyan as you.” She said in a daring tone. “So bring it on.” “As a Saiyan, you should know we never turn away from a challenge or a dare.” “I didn’t expect any less from you, Saiyan or not.” “What happened, Chi-Chi?” “Nothing.” She wiped the tears from her eyes with her index fingers. “This reminds me the time where Goten still lived with us and they’d bicker each other like this all the time. The house is so quiet now.” “I’m sorry, mom.” “Oh no, no. It’s okay, Goten. I’m really happy for you.” “Thanks.” He blushed a little. “Where’s…” “Goten, there you are.” Gohan walked out of the house. “Mom, dad, you made it.” “Hi, Gohan.” “How come everybody just ignore me?” The youngest Son member protested. “Am I invisible or something?” “Yes, you are.” Goten returned the slap she had given him minutes ago. “Hey!” “Goten, you shouldn’t hit your sister.” “She asked for it, mom.” “The hell I did.” “Darling, you shouldn’t swear.” Chi-Chi quickly turned to Goku, who couldn’t stop laughing. “And you should help me teach them this is wrong.” “I’m sorry, Chi-Chi. I missed their little bickering as well. Goten is funny as f…” His eyes went wide. “I mean, Goten is so funny.” “Thanks, dad.” He bragged with a huge grin. “We can turn all the lights out for the night. Goten’s smile is gonna light up the whole house.” “Damn right.” “I give up.” Chi-Chi threw her hands up and sighed in frustration. “Sis, you can never be invisible to me.” Gohan said after things seemingly calmed down. “Thank you, Han. At least for someone I’m not.” “Thank Kami, for that, huh?” “We’ve seen that bright white smile of yours for enough time, don’t you think?” “Actually, no, I don’t.” “Of course you wouldn’t.” Misaki rolled her eyes. “Gohan, where am I staying?” “Come on, I’ll show you.” **** After dinner, everyone gathered in the living room to hang out together and then maybe have a game night. “So…” Goten spoke after taking a few deep breaths to ease his nervousness. “I have something to say.” “Finally, I’m dying to know what it is.” “That’s true.” Misaki confirmed. “That’s all mom could talk about.” “I’m sorry about that, mom. I hope it’s worth the wait.” He motioned for Bulla to get closer to him and wrapped an arm around her body. “Okay, so we want to say that we’re expecting our first child.” “Oh my God!” “Is that serious?” Gohan stood up and went to congratulate his brother and his sister-in-law. “I’m so happy for the two of you! This is great news.” “Congratulations!” Videl joined him. “You’re gonna be great parents, I just feel that.” “Thanks, Videl.” Bulla replied with a gentle smile. “I hope so.” “My baby boy is going to be a father.” Chi-Chi cried as she ran to hug her son. “This is such a happy day!” “How couldn’t I be? It’s my second grandchild!” “So I’m gonna be an aunt again.” Misaki approached the couple and hugged them. “Congratulations.” “Thanks, Saki.” Goten could barely hold his excitement. “We’re really happy.” “I can see that. I’m happy for you too.” “Thank you, Misaki.” “So do you know if it’s a boy or a girl yet?” Chi-Chi sat down again and placed her hands over her thighs. “Not yet, it’s still too early. Bulla doesn’t really want to know before she’s due.” “That’s true, though I’m quite sure I won’t be able to wait until then. And there’s also the fact we need to get everything ready before.” “But you can always pick neutral colors, like yellow or green.” “Or you can choose the color you want. Who cares about this anyway? It’s just a color.” “That’s my sister.” “Oh so now you’re proud of me?” “Not quite.” Goten laughed. “I’m just kidding, Saki. Of course I’m proud of you.” “Right. Just for the record, I’m proud of you too.” “I know.” “Oh no, the big ego is back again.” Everyone started laughing and Chi-Chi couldn’t help but feel blessed for having all her family gathered together again. **** “Chi-Chi?” Goku mumbled as he opened his eyes after trying to wrap his arm around his wife and noticing the bed was empty on her side. He rolled over to check what time it was. “Why is she up so early on a Sunday?” He walked down the hall very carefully and slowly, so he wouldn’t wake everyone else up, and entered the kitchen. The smell of just made coffee immediately filled his nostrils, but Chi-Chi also wasn’t there. Goku wondered where she could have gone, until he noticed the door was slightly open.
“Chi-Chi, where are you?” He inhaled the smell of the fresh breeze of the morning and closed his eyes for a moment, as the wind gently messed his hair up. He was also trying to locate her ki, which didn’t take him long, and the following second he teleported to where she was. “I found you.” “Of course you did.” She couldn’t help but smile. “You always do.” “What are you doing here?” Goku looked around; a good feeling increasing in his heart, he just loved being in the nature. “I just wanted to take a moment to myself.” “Is everything okay?” He sat down next to her and embraced his knees. “Everything’s fine.” Chi-Chi looked at him and touched his hand, and he looked down at them. “I’m just taking everything in. You know, the news we were told last night.” “About Goten becoming a father?” The Saiyan looked at his wife with his eyebrows raised. “But isn’t that bound to happen at some point? He’s married man now.” “I know, and I’m truly happy for them. But Goten will always be my little boy.” “Aww, Chi-Chi.” He lied down next to her and brought her closer to him, so she had her head resting on his arm and placed her hand on his bare chest. “We still have Misaki.” “I know, and I love her with all my heart. But before we know it, she’ll be gone too. She’ll find a nice person and want to build a life with them. And then there will be just us.” “Is that a bad thing?” “No.” Chi-Chi shook her head with a smile. “I love spending some time alone with you. But I’m not gonna lie and say I won’t miss her.” “I’ll miss her too. But she’s not gone yet, that will take a few more years.” “You’re right.” She reached for his hand. “I’m so grateful we have such a beautiful family.” “So am I.” He rested his hand on her right cheek. “I’m glad we met each other. In fact, I just remembered something.” “Goku, where are you going?” She asked surprised when he began to walk away. “Don’t worry, I’ll be right back.” He replied over his shoulder before vanishing. **** Stepping on the sand always immediately took Misaki back to her childhood days, where she and her older brothers could easily spend the day playing around. It felt like yesterday to her, and now her other brother was going to become a father too. “So this is where the father of the year is.” She got past Goten and sat beside him. “How does it feel?” “I feel so many things.” He confessed, not taking his eyes away from the sea across him. “It’s such a surreal thing. I’m sitting here, remembering the time dad took me here for the first time.” “Do you still remember it?” “No, I was just a kid. But mom was so mesmerized by it that she took a picture.” Only then Misaki noticed he was holding it between his fingers. “You snatched it from one of mom’s albums?” “I’m too young to die.” Goten couldn’t help but laugh, and she giggled for a moment. “She gave it to me before I moved out.” “It’s a sweet gesture.” “It is.” He looked down at it. “Pretty soon I’ll be bringing my own child to see the sea for the first time.” “You’re gonna be an amazing father.” She laid her head on his shoulder. “I have no doubt about that.” “Thanks, Saki.” A small smile appeared on his lips. “I’m sure you’ll be an amazing mom too.” “What is it?” A very familiar voice echoed behind them. “A sibling reunion and I wasn’t invited?” “We would never have a sibling reunion without you, Han.” The girl tapped the space beside her, motioning for him to sit down. “Misaki is right. The same can’t be said about her though.” “You always have a way to ruin a beautiful moment, don’t you?” “I didn’t, you did that yourself.” “Shut the hell up!” “Whoa, that’s really rude. I’m gonna need to talk to mom about you swearing.” “Don’t you dare. She’ll keep me grounded for life.” “Exactly.” “I hate you.” “I love you too, Saki.” **** “There it is.” Goku grabbed what he wanted and moved away with kintoun. He then glanced down and saw his three children all leaned against each other, simply enjoying their own company. He smiled and then flew away to where Chi-Chi was. “Goku, what took you so long?” She asked nervously when he finally landed in front of her. “I’m sorry. I went to get you something.” He put his hand inside his gi and took out a couple of bright red apples. “Here.” He couldn’t help but smile seeing her eyes go wide for a second and then sparkle with happiness when she took one of them. “You brought apples. You remember.” “Remember what?” “You don’t remember?” “Of course I do.” He grinned and ate a bite of his own apple. Then he climbed on kintoun and stretched his arm at her. “Do you want to go back to the time we were kids and go for a ride?” “Sure, let’s do it.” She grabbed his hand and he pulled her up, and she quickly sat behind him. “Where are we going, by the way?” “You will find on very soon.” “How long have they been there?” Chi-Chi asked when she looked down at where their children were. “I don’t know, but I think for quite a while. They were already here when I came to pick up the apples.” “They really love each other.” “They do.” Goku nodded with a smile. She wrapped her arms around him and rested the right side of her face on his back, closing her eyes. “And I love you.” He looked down and placed his hands over hers. “I love you too, Chi-Chi. I’m so glad to have you in my life.”
