I've talked about this before like way before but it has renewed in my mind .There is something so interesting about this interaction.
I cannot imagine Maria would judge Joel for how he coped with the trauma of losing his child, especially her. Like in my mind there is no other explanation other than Tommy villianized Joel to the extreme, thinking he would never see him again.
Thats a woman protecting her husband and tribe, "Tommy was following Joel" that's bullshit and I know she knows and he knows too.
Its a pretty reasonable coping mechanism from Tommy, he saw his brother die and become self destructive, nothing could stop the path Joel was on, and watching a loved one suffer so horribly much is something you can't imagine, knowing you can't stop it. He left Joel, adding even more guilt, but to deal with that he might've tried to forget the good memories, because forgetting the soft father, the big brother was easier, remembering the monster he left was easier. Because this Joel was something else, this Joel was unhinged and crazy and had no room for emotions and remorse. This is the Joel he gave Maria, and she has every right to act like that, and holy shit did she stutter?
But this doesn't mean my heart doesn't clench for Joel
But also can you imagine Tommys guilt, as he sees more and more of soft father Joel and blames himself for leaving and cutting Joel off like that, imagine him wanting to apologize to Joel with tears in his eyes

When the paladins touched down on Earth, it quickly became Reunion Central. Not that Keith has a problem with it, he’s just unsure of how to approach it. He doesn’t exactly have anyone to return to.
However, he doesn’t have to think about that, the decision is made for him.
He’s pulled into many a meeting of the family, given introductions he immediately forgets and hearing stories about himself. Hunk, Pidge, and Lance are thrilled to show their first families their second one. Keith, Allura, Coran, and Romelle are passed around like trading cards to the tune of “These are my parents!”
Though Keith will admit he’s avoiding Lance’s family. Nothing against them personally, it’s just… there’s so many of them, and they’re all as touchy feely as Lance. He appreciates a good group hug from the team, but it’d be different with people he’s only heard stories about.
Luckily, he’s saved from a social interaction he doesn’t want to participate in yet.
“Keith. Akira. Kogane.”
Unluckily, it’s replaced by a less favorable one.
Keith stiffens, staring but unseeing at Hunk’s grandmother. She, and the rest of the Garretts, turn to the source of the full name yelled across the way. Keith… doesn’t. He stares at the ground, unable to hide his grimace as he hears boots marching towards him.
Someone please put him back into a magic robo-cat that shoots lasers. He’d gladly get into a space fight than talk to him.
“Where the hell did you go!?” he asks, grabbing Keith by the shoulder and turning him around. Keith stares up into brown eyes covered by glasses, rage in those irises. Behind his head, Shiro is sending him a sympathetic smile, unable to stop his fiancé once on the warpath.
“Your brother goes missing and you think the best reaction is to do the same!?” Adam all but screeches.
“Hi Adam,” Keith manages. He missed him, he really did, but he also 100% knew this was coming.
“Don’t Hi Adam me, young man! Where did you go? Do you know how much I was looking for you? I was so worried! And you didn’t even say anything, you just left! Right after I get told my fiancé is dead!”
“Sorry.”
“You’re not sorry and we both know that.”
“Yeah…”
Adam sighs, like this is the biggest problem he has right now, and pulls Keith into a tight embrace. But not too tight. He still remembers how Keith likes his hugs. Keith hugs back.
He’s just as warm as Keith remembers him, and he still smells the same, like vanilla and cinnamon. It’s moments like these where Keith gets why Shiro fell in love with him.
“You’re grounded, by the way.”
“What!?”

tfw it's going to be even harder for me to write/draw spooky fake peppino moments after this update comedically defanged him for a scene, even though:
1) it's a movie Noise wrote / directed / paid off the bosses for, and FP being scared off by yelling could easily be tied to that context (either because he was indeed treating it like a game and therefore was less persistent / more easily startled, or because he was asked to be more of a wimp, or both)
2) it's implied to take place a decent while postgame since Pizzahead and Vigilante are in the same room together and Vigi isn't trying to apprehend him like the credits implied he was going to do, so FP could have just mellowed out more in that time and/or Noise also could have gotten used to him. like FP seems pretty relaxed and just a little confused in the ending scene too, he's chill
there's a lot of ways you can interpret this shitposty joke moment so I'm a little bothered the immediate go-to for most of the fanbase is "fake peppino is a sweet baby who was never creepy". I personally read it as FP nervously retreating like "why are you yelling at me I did as you asked :/"
