So there was a post a while back about Ben Solo always being told "don't do (x), that's how uncle luke lost his hand" when he was a kid - and I raise you: Elrond and Elros being told "don't do (x), that's how Maedhros lost his hand"??

Like, at Amon Ereb when the twins were newly acquired and refusing to eat their vegetables and Maglor is Mag-mothering them until Erestor, feral half-sane clinically depressed anarchist Avari hostage/patient/infiltrator and Certified Little Shit, hits em with:

"I would listen to the Lord Maglor, winyamor, he well knows the dangers that come to young elflings who don't eat enough vegetables - after all, that's how his brother lost his hand."

Elrond looks conflicted. Elros squints suspiciously. "Truly?"

Erestor, practically comatose since the massacre but ultimately saved from Fading by the biological compulsion to fuck with you, lays a hand over his heart. "I would never lie about such a thing! Just what do you take me for? This is a true tale and a grave warning - the Lord Maedhros' hand was tragically lost in the days of his youth, whilst he was still growing as you are. He refused to eat his vegetables and so, cruelly deprived of the strength it needed to grow strong, his body started to fall apart! First his fingers, then his thumb, and then his palm and wrist - all turned blue and dropped off!"

"No!" Elrond gasps. Elros looks both terrified and impressed. Maglor's face is scrunched up into something that the twins probably interpret as pained - at reminder of the horrors of limbs falling off! - but is actually just him busting a rib trying not to laugh.

"Yes!" Erestor cries with relish. "And it never grew back. All because he didn't eat his vegetables. Isn't that right, Lord Maedhros?"

Maedhros, a looming terror at the head of the table, scarred and solemn and impenetrable as his fortresses, narrows his eyes consideringly at the unfolding shenanigans and the rascal behind it. His conclusion? Fuck it. He gives a slow, solemn nod. Completely deadpan and exaggeratedly formal, because it may have been centuries since he last had his brothers smothering laughter at political dinners but the Finwëan sense of humour, once caught, is not an ailment easily cured.

Maglor conceals his wheezes behind his goblet as Erestor nods sagely to the wide-eyed twins, who suddenly seem a sight more interested in their vegetables.

Nintendo had THREE TIMELINES come from OoT and none had a canonically happy ending for the Hero of Time. WHYYYY

Anyway. I love his interactions with TP Link. He’s so strict at first (understandably since he knows how dangerous this hero stuff is), but then immediately starts showing what a softy he is. Any time Link earns a new skill I can just FEEL his pride. That’s his great great great great grandson your honor

Also the thought of him waiting as long as he did, watching his land morph and grow and shrink and fall KILLS ME. Malon is gone, his children are gone, Zelda is gone (I hc that they were besties in the child timeline). Yet he remains. Alone. Again.

I like to think the Skull Kid can see him though. I like to think they’re still friends. And I like to think Link’s Epona remembers him and loves him just as her ancestor did. She knows who he is even when practically everyone has forgotten he even existed

Also he hugs Link at the end. I don’t care that we don’t see it. It happens. Miyamoto told me so

the concept of henry killing clay is very creative and cool, I would like to hear more about it

Basically what happened was Henry was rummaging around his old workshop for parts in the 2000s to use in the 'set everyone on fire' plan and Clay found him cus Henry's old house is on his beat.

Clay confronts him about how Henry intentionally lied to him about William's involvement in the murders and Henry lets it slip that he actually knew Will was responsible the whole time and thinks Clay is pretty stupid for just taking their word at face value.

Clay gets pretty mad about this revelation and says he's 100% gonna report this and take him into custody and shoots Henry point-blank in the chest when he resits. He immediatly regrets this and lets his guard down to panic and check if he's okay.

Henry is a corpse at this point in time so he is actually relitivly unharmed (still pretty shaken mind). As soon as he recovers he stabs Clay in the neck with some pliers or something and he dies.

This is an important event to me because it's the first time Henry takes a life with his own hands. Every other time its been negligence or complicity but now he's an ACTIVE murderer. RIP Clay Burke congrats on missing the housing market crash.

having a bad father was amazing we used to go out into the garage and look out a hole (he chopped a hole in the garage wall) into the backyard and whenever he'd see an animal he'd try to shoot it with a bb gun. and I would get upset because I wanted to be a veterinarian when I grew up or something anyway he got me a bb gun for my 10th birthday and taught me how to shoot it at squirrels. which inevitably meant I shot a squirrel. and once you shoot one squirrel, what's one more ? so my father and I shoulder to shoulder would shoot at animals from the safety of the garage like it was normal. this is all normal to me. when I tell people this they're horrified. there was a swamp behind his house so he would just throw anything that wasn't moving into the water and whatever was able to leave just.... left. we shot a fox. we would shoot at deer. I used to watch my dad chase animals out of his yard with a hatchet and I don't know if he ever caught any of them but I know that if he did they would be dead. when we would go fishing together he would literally beat the fish unconscious with his tackle box and then throw them back in the lake. when i was really young (stopping at like .. 8?) he used to dangle me over bridges and tell me he could drop me to my death and nobody would find out it was him or find my body. hannibal ass father
