stop calling mephone4 a child.
my credentials(/silly): mephone4’s biggest fan + someone who sees mephone as representative of myself. i am also an autistic adult. (relevant)
i went on an autistic tirade rambling about this in a discord server but i wanted to compile my reasoning and stuff here into a tumblr post because this is very important to me.
alright. lets start with the most commonly used argument.
calling mephone a child is ableist.
now i certainly agree that some children CAN act the way mephone does. however, i think it’s harmful when your ONLY argument as to why he is a child is ‘because he cant spell’ or ‘because he creates fantasy worlds in his brain as a means of escapism.’
I think the issue is, we are reducing these very real symptoms of mental disorders to ‘oh he’s just acting childish,’ instead of understanding them for what they are. autism and dyslexia are not cured the second you turn 18. it doesn’t work that way. giving in to the stereotype that only children can act this way… i dunno man. it really rubs me the wrong way.
i think it’d be better to view him as an adult with these symptoms because, well, VERY rarely do we ever get representation of an adult with mental disorders in media. at least not in a way that’s not villainizing them or mocking/infantilizing them. (sidebar, mephone IS NOT THE VILLAIN. he did bad things, yes, and should be held accountable for it, but he is NOT. THE VILLAIN. he is an abuse victim, and his way of acting is actually very good representation of the way abuse victims may go on to mimic actions of their abuser.) cobs (mephone’s abuser btw) LITERALLY infantilizes mephone IN CANON. IN THE SHOW. WHY ARE YOU LISTENING TO COBS. WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE COBS.
bro didnt go to school
i didnt know how to title this section. basically, people reducing him to a child because he doesn’t know adult things are MISSING THE POINT.
HE WAS RAISED BY COBS.
do you think cobs had ANY interest in teaching him ANYTHING about the real world? about how to be an adult? about how to ride a bike or pay taxes? NO. dude popped into existence knowing nothing except what Cobs WANTED him to know. he was meant to just work for Cobs and do tasks all the time and that was IT. OF COURSE his knowledge is going to be limited to what Cobs taught him. that DOES NOT make someone a child. GO REWATCH THE SHOWWWW.
suspend your disbelief for once in your life oh my god
i dont understand how people are able to suspend disbelief for LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE in fiction. such as murder/death, supernatural creatures, the universe itself as a whole, etc. but when it comes to age, the real world standards MUST be applied, no exception. Like since Mephone was canonically created 14 years ago in-universe that means he is 14 years old. we are completely ignoring the fact he is a fictional talking sentient phone robot for a minute.
and adding in the ‘he acts like a child’ argument for a second… season 1. what 1 year old do you know that can walk and talk and create an entire game show?? he has practically acted the EXACT SAME WAY his entire existence, therefore that argument falls completely flat.
it would be DIFFERENT if in-universe they had established rules, where this age means this and that age means that, but the ii universe DOES NOT HAVE THAT. meaning people are free to interpret age however they want. it would ALSO be different if mephone was canonically stated to be a child (we’re getting to that) OR portrayed to be childcoded. which…. he isn’t.
okay so by these rules all of the contestants are younger than mephone.
the agreement amongst child mephone believers seems to be ‘creation date = birth date = real age’. so bot is like 3 years old. the unvitationals are like 2. all the contestants are somewhere between like 4-14. but wait- some season 1 contestants ACT older or younger than the others? no. no theyre ALL 13-14 only. no exceptions. every newbie in season 3 is like 4-5. every newbie in season 2 is like 10. makes perfect sense.
do you understand how ridiculous that is. WE CANNOT , i repeat, CANNOT APPLY REAL WORLD STANDARDS TO A FICTIONAL UNIVERSE. oh my god. they are holograms. they are robots. they are in a weird plane floating in the vastness of space that has a picnic table that can generate food, and the ability to revive dead people, and ghosts and talking corn and. and all of THAT is fine. but god forbid someone interpret the talking phone as an adult. I DONT GET IT.
b-b-but cobs called mephone a child…
once again, common arguement. i strike thee down with a ‘MANIPULATION TACTIC.’ i feel like this has been covered enough and better in other mephone rambles so im not gonna get into it.
personal section
this is more of a personal experiences and opinions thing. less based on fact. agree or disagree idc this is just my experience.
once again, like i stated in the beginning, i see myself in mephone. a lot. I am an adult. i have autism. i have the tendency to act ‘childish’ sometimes due to my condition. im bad at being an adult. i struggle with tasks that are probably easy for other adults. i’m not a child. it’s very disheartening- i WANT to be viewed as an independent functioning adult, despite my condition, but when even a FICTIONAL PHONE who acts just like i do gets reduced to ‘child’ because he acts similarly to someone who’s mentally ill and has been abused. it HURTS MAN. he’s just trying his best:[
anyways conclusion
idc. you can headcanon whatever you want cause technically nothing is confirmed, but this is more food for thought for the people immediately jumping on the ‘child mephone’ bandwagon.
unless someone is canonically stated to be a child or is very heavily child coded, i don’t think its wrong for people to interpret them as an adult.
if sometime in the future mephone is canonically confirmed to be a child like. in universe. ill probably be disappointed.
i am a firm believer in age doesnt work the same way in ii as it does in our universe. theyre all fictional creatures. they were not created by conventional means. you dont have to apply our world’s standards to it.
anyways uhh. ramble over lol

Okay, I'll bite. Test Tube darkfic idea that still utilizes the "ohh no, suddenly Test Tube is scary and evil" trope while also providing a reason for how this occurred.
We know for a fact that MePhone may have based his creations on real objects, as it has been confirmed that Ballpoint Pen was based on Cobs. What if we apply this to Test Tube?
Imagine: MePhone happily doodling away, creating OCs on loose sheets of paper, then Cobs arrives with new tasks for him. But MePhone didn't want to do tasks yet; he was still in the middle of drawing! He argues that fact, to which Cobs dismisses him and tells him that, in completing his tasks, he will contribute to science and innovation, and all of that nerd talk that MePhone didn't really understand. Not that the corn's little spiel convinced him anyway. So Cobs took MePhone's drawings, telling him that he would only return them as soon as he completed his tasks.
MePhone sat there, astonishment, sadness, and fury just some of the many emotions coursing through him after that encounter. Overwhelmed by the emotions that coursed through him like a roaring river, he grabbed his ballpoint pen and quickly sketched something a blank sheet of paper- the only one Cobs didn't take. Cobs. That jerk. Such a jerk, but he was so smart. He knew it. So smug about how smart he was. Standing so tall and smugly with that stupid green husk. Refusing to believe he's ever in the wrong. So stubborn.
Smart. Tall. Green. Stubborn.
His mind preoccupied with repeated those words like a mantra, MePhone's emotions did all the work in sketching. Angry strokes that almost stabbed the paper. And when that angry river of emotions began to subside, he judged what he had just made: a test tube. That's a science-y thing, right? Test Tube did science-y things, like make inventions and mix chemicals. And Test Tube was stubborn, claiming to never be wrong. Just like Cobs. Test Tube was just a caricature, a parody of him. MePhone made Test Tube just to mock his creator in that brief moment of intense rage. As a cherry on top, he wrote "The Nerd" just above the sketch, the sloppily-written letters big and bold to emphasize that fact.
Of course, canon happens. The contestants all find out they were created by MePhone, but Test Tube gets a bonus surprise: she was made simply to parody Cobs! ...THE Cobs? The abuser? The war criminal? Their enemy? Test Tube was based on HIM?
See, she isn't inherently "evil" simply because she was based on Cobs. She snapped. The newfound information led to a horrible identity crisis and self-loathing, so terrible that she isolated herself in her lab (which I assume she would've rebuilt post-finale). No one hears her for days, weeks maybe. They began to worry that something happened to her. But one day, she finally emerges from her lab, walks up to some objects, and asks if they could help her with a new experiment.
Golly, I sure wonder who wrote this ask.

my dumbass ii theory: hoorayyyy
ii17 spoilers?? idk man just trust me
ok. so idk if mephone actually made toilet or not. for the sake of this theory, lets say he did!!!!
we all know that mephone didnt like toilet. he thought he was annoying n stuff. but why would mephone make an assistant that he clearly didnt like?
THEORY 1:
you know when you make an asshole oc or an annoying oc or see an asshole/annoying character and go "wow. i love this silly fella"? yeah. mephone made an annoying oc and went "wow. i love this silly fella" and toilet was silly in theory!!!
but then mephone made toilet real. and he realized "wow. this guy really is annoying. i do not like him at all"
if you dont get this (because i dont think i explained this very clearly), think of an oc/character you like that is annoying or an asshole. you like em, right? you think theyre awesomesauce, right? now imagine they're real and theyre gonna be around you a lot. might be not great, idk
thats basically what i think happened with toilet n mephone. but heres a better theory i have
THEORY 2:
im gonna pull up the proper grammar for this because i think i cooked a little bit
So. MePhone made Toilet an assistant who's annoying and obnoxious, and he just can't stand him. Why would he do that?
Well, think about this: He was made to do tasks for Cobs, who treated him like a tool and was clearly annoyed whenever he didn't do what he wanted him to do. It could be safe to say that Cobs found MePhone annoying, or MePhone thought he was annoying due to neglect and abuse from Cobs.
Now look at how MePhone treats Toilet - he doesn't like him. At all. He constantly tries to get Toilet out of his sight.
And now look at Toilet's personality - loud, obnoxious, annoying. Made to be the perfect assistant, following every task given to him, but without the perfect personality.
Here's what I'm trying to get at.
Toilet is basically a vent oc.
He was made to be the perfect assistant that does everything he's told, but is really annoying - which is probably how MePhone feels about himself. He was supposed to follow every task, but unlike Toilet he didn't follow every task and probably thinks of himself as a burden. So he made Toilet as a way to vent out these feelings, make a character he saw as himself, yet also making a character that was who he was supposed to have been: an assistant that does everything they're told (who he was supposed to have been) but is an obnoxious burden (what he sees himself as).
A mockery of who MePhone was.
So if Toilet is MePhone here, then (please dont kill me for this please please please) MePhone would be Cobs.
Of course, this isn't a perfect comparison. but im trying my best
Cobs was a father figure to MePhone, who admired him very much - just like how Toilet admires MePhone.
MePhone constantly treats Toilet badly. umm im uh. running out. you get what i mean
the cycle of abuse continues
so in conclusion: toilet is basically a vent oc

Welcome to my rant about one of my dearest headcanons...
Cross-dominant (handed) MePhone!
So, what might bring me to this headcanon? Why would it be my dearest?
First — you can see it in canon a lot.
Sure, MePhone4 isn’t the only character in Inanimate Insanity who switches hands, a lot of them do it. (noticed it mostly with OJ when I was looking through Pinterest for screenshots.) However, that doesn’t mean it still doesn’t have some backing inside of canon.
First, let’s look at some pictures where MePhone is using his right hand as his dominant hand.
Here you can see him clearly emoting with his right hand, — which I’ve noticed people tend to do with their dominant hand a lot more —, and also the bumper cars.
In other instances throughout the show, we can see MePhone using his left hand as one would use their dominant hand.
As we can also see here, it’s not a thing that’s limited to III alone.
On the topic of III, have you ever noticed he also uses his left hand as his dominant hand in the intro?
Oh, and let’s get the biggest thing out of the way, he writes with his left hand.
Second — why cross-dominant? why not just ambidextrous?
Headcanon territory time! Time for me to start self-indulging.
I believe MePhone4 is naturally left-handed, that’s his true handedness. But, like many people in real like, he was forced to use his right-hand. (He learned to use his left-hand in writing for funsies, but found that it was way more comfortable than using his right and stuck with it.)
I genuinely believe that Cobs would believe left-handedness was inferiour, and that it would hurt his reputation if one of his creations was left-handed.
Sure, MePhone4 might have been created by him, but he’s still his own object who clearly has his own opinions and mental issues, I fully believe he could have turned out left-handed just because, honestly.
Even if MePhone is capable of using both of his hands, he has strong preferences, and automatically switches them when doing different tasks.
Third — any other things?
Oh, you bet!
Forced use of the right-hand can cause issues! Who would of thought.
From Wikipedia — Bias against left-handed people
As we can see here, it can cause learning disorders, and since many people have started headcanoning MePhone with dyslexia I feel like it fits.
Also to take from my own headcanon pile — I believe he stutters. He had just learned to stay quiet until he feels like he can speak clearly and fluidly again.
Oh, and there’s also these statistics!
From Wikipedia — Left-Handedness
Just wanted to show this, because autistic MePhone is also a pretty common headcanon. I believe at least.
Forth — closing thoughts
Even if it’s just a silly little headcanon, I believe it has a locked packed in it, so I wanted to share it.
MePhone just feels like a left-hander or cross-dominant object to me.

𝘔𝘠 II2 17 FRAME-BY-FRAME ANALYSIS
//spoilers for the ii2 17 trailer ofc
1/2
So you see.../quote
The trailer starts off with this scene;
This leaves a not-so-good taste in my mouth to what Steve might be doing with the finalist. Here me out on this...
Fight to the death.
I KNOW I KNOW IT'S BADDD... but... With the fact that Mephone can bring contestants back, what's stopping Cobs from using similar tech to do the same? I'll come back to this later.
The screen then pans to Mephone, here;
From what I can tell, this seems to be another flashback or past memory of Mephone's. I believe this because of not only his (leaning towards) youthful demeanor, but more importantly, - the background.
(Hey! The next sections are going to suck, bc I'm rewriting them. I wrote them, and they didn't save. 💔)
This if from s2e13, from one of Mephone's memories. Recognize the glass? Mephone is definitely in mepple. I think that (in the ii2 17 ss) mephone is either
Completing a task for Cobs
OORR making the contestants(to a capacity.)
Mephone seems to be looking at something for imperfections, using his hands to border whatever he may be looking at from his POV, and smiling at his work. He had a similar reaction when he made the model boat (and went to show it to Steve), but he 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 had happy reactions is scenes when he was taking his own sort of control in his life in mepple(such as when he was watching TV.), so, I'm not going to rule out either, but I'd love to know what others think on that!
I'm not here to rewrite anymore than I need to, so feel free to go and look at my ii2 17 snippet analysis for this ss HERE! I Stan true to everything 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵 the amount of Metags lawl.
Going back to the actual meat and potatoes of this, the screen resumes to Hotel OJ;
𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴. To Mephone!
From what I can say, he seems to be - though not too kindly - , giving his rebuttal to what Steve has just told the finalists. He has a right to be as mad as he is, due to how 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 he's been trying to get just 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲. That's all he wants! Or at least that's when he thinks. He thinks that with all the precautions he's put, just wanting one good finale for he little show is not too much time ask for, but with the fact that all he's doing is 𝘳𝘶𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘊𝘰𝘣𝘴, he's denying a happy ending to not only himself, but every single one of his contestants. He deserves a good yell at Steve, though. I really want to see that.
Still at the Hotel (but out of the closet now(lol)), things pan to Lightbulb.
From her confident stance, it seems that she's taking a place of leadership. (Would have been nice if she took that before OJ died but,,) as much as I want to bully her (sorry), lightbulb taking this role suggests a few things. Not only does it mean that Lightbulb has started taking things seriously, putting her full attention into being that leader in this situation, but also realizing that this is not the time to just 'try and make people happy again'. Another blank this strikes, is 𝘸𝘩𝘺? Did something happen to Baseball? He seemed to have taken that leadership role as of the end of act 1, but Lightbulb seems to be doing that job for him now. Did Baseball tell her about Nickel? Did Baseball tell 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘕𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘭? Also would love to say, NEWBIE SCREEN TIME! HI CANDLEEE💜💜💜.
Going back to things I reallllyy don't wanna rewrite, this is one. This was in the snippet, and I'm p sure I already yapped about that back HERE. 🤩🙏💯
And here's the reason I had to rewrite so much. I had to get the ss below. ↓
Yay!! More newbies!! And Yay!! More Taco and her past abusive relationships!! Can't 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵 to cover this. Seeing Baseball in the back as he is, makes me think a bit. Of course from a standpoint of the show production, having the
Ahem
"Largest" character in the front, wouldn't be the best idea, but I feel that him being in the back has a deeper reason.
You know how I mentioned Lightbulb taking control? This proves that further. Baseball blends in with the other onlookers, even ones like Cabby, who's in front of him might I add.
Not to Taco. She seems to be looking away, for the obvious reason. Mic. She was able to work up the confidence to talk to Pickle again, but Mic? That's a 𝘸𝘢𝘺 fresher wound for her. Not to mention, the last time she tried to fix a broken friendship that day, he
Uh
Died.
So, it's not like Taco wants to throw herself back into another potty party with a sob story when everyone around her is freaking out.
Looking at Microphone, she has a somber look on her face. One of almost,, remorse? Mic has a reason to miss Taco, that was her first friend almost ever. A look of longing on her face shows that better than I can describe. I think (after hearing about Pickle), Mic night have started thinking about how Taco might have experienced that, and started feeling just that little twinge of regret. Not much, but enough.
It's hard to see from the screenshot I took, but, Mepad is on the verrrry edge on the shot. Another gathering of contestants stand to the other side of him, suggesting that Mean is the main onlooker to something or someone in front of him. This may very well be 𝘔𝘦𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦. I'll come back to this.
We then see the purgatory crew! Yay!! Marshmallow is holding a remote, I will 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 come back to this!!
Moving on, I'm skipping the next frame, as it connects to another one! *
(*i will put another asterisk later)
Continuing the Hotal OJ talk, we see what the others are up too!!!
Last resort protection circle in case anyone dies.
Wow! How nice!!
Lightbulb is still taking her place of leadership, Baseball in tow. mephone seems to be entering the circle they've created for (what I think is) one of two reasons, one MUCH MORE selfish than the other.
To join in the circle watching out.
To go IN the circle.
(Spoiler alert; he's in the circle 😭)
I mean,,,, Mephone kinndaaaa is egotistical, nothing is stopping him from asking the contestants to circle him out of fear...
Also, little thing, OH MY GOD. ALL OF THESE CLIPS ARE SO OUT OF ORDER??? Next post I will be putting them in what I believe is chronological order cuz AE what is this buffoonery bro. I keep saying "I'll come back to this" and that's why. 😭
Back to the screen shot- one thing that I just need to point out whether I like it or not, is the fact that these are the 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 contestants. Anyone who isn't present in the circle is most likely at the library, or dead. This includes the speculations on Soap. Also,
GOO!?!?
WHERE'S GOO.
I'M GOING TO CRY.
ahem
I'm going to break this into 2 parts because of the image limit. I'll tag that HERE when it's done!

hi again (:
Hello there agian sorry for not posting in awhile, life just kinda happend and I just forgot to post on here more often, there are people here so I thought I'd give some ramblings I did to a freind of mine about mephone 4
So to me 4 really feels like a trans character or a hint of one, like his dad is forcing him into a mold of a person to complete tasks do as he's told or else, so when mephone rebels and creates ii it's his escape his expertion and a lot of the ii cast reflect a part of mephone I have a long list of characters but I want to focus on paintbrush
Painty is an expressive character there all about expression wether that be through art and having deep meanings behind them or there emotional state being the only one to get really mad and have a visual to it, to there gender identity, I personally feel that paintbrush is a way of mephone experesing what cobs won't let him do, experss his art and creativity, express his emotions and how he feels and express his Identity, gender identity is very important, its our main part of us that tells peopel who we are and it's so important that it's taught in sentence structure as pronoun, no matter what the transphobs want to tell you,
So what dose all of this have do to with mephone 4 well I'm glad you asked, mephone isn't and wasn't aloud to express himself from day one, so now that cobs dead and he's free to explore themself with 3gs what if he becomes sort of more like a shimmer
Leading up to ii 18 I really wanted mephone to die so he could become the shimmer that was put inside of him to create him, he is that shimmer because its a part of what makes him, himself, so I wanted him to look more aline, but that didn't happen, so what I think would be really cool is if we have in a short episode or a future season is mephone completely remove all mepole symbols off of himself and make his screen purple instead of blue, and maybe change his phone cover to strips as well and maybe change his name? I just want him to be able to express himself now that he has no cobs anymore, so ye that's it thanks for reading if you did 😊

My 3GS rant copy pasted from the iid
So to start with 3gs. What we know. 3gs is the oldest MePhone we see active in ii. He is currently dead (?) due running out of battery. We first see him in one of MePhone 4’s gemory flashbacks. He is in the back of what appears to be a storage closet for broken/deactivated meeple products. It is also assumed that cobs threw him in there with force due to the cracks in the wall behind him. When MePhone 4 activates him he starts playing an audio recording of the shimmer invasions. (We learn more about that in episode 14) after that’s over he repeats “please cobs don’t” over and over and faster and faster until he runs out of battery and powers down. The next time we see him is in episode 14. During the prime shimmer flashbacks we see 3gs invading the shimmer planet with two other unnamed mephones (presumed to be 2g and 3g). They wanted to harness the shimmer life and after the shimmers refused 3gs got upset and exploded a bit of the shimmer planet. He and the two other mephones proceeded to take 6 shimmer eggs. The two other mephones were both killed while 3gs was spared.
Now let me side track here. Both were hit with two spears while 3gs only one. The two had the spears go completely through them (also they exploded too ig), while 3gs just had his bounce off. This is probably the only reason he managed to survive. Maybe he had a screen protector while the others didn’t?
3gs was the only survivor and managed to escape with two shimmer eggs. We know one ended up on mars but the whereabouts of the other are still unknown. 3gs managed to get back to meeple where he told cobs he failed the mission and then was thrown into the closet to slowly loose battery and die.
OK. NOW I GET TO TALK ABOUT THEORIES AND SILLY LITTLE DETAILS 😁😁
So I want to talk about the other recordings 3gs shows during episode 13. First his lecture on “charge” that lasts 2 hours 39 minutes and 17 seconds.
There’s three ways I can see this lecture going. (Hit the word limit cont in 2)
The first way I can see it going is cobs teaching 3gs how to charge and how the charging process works.
The second is 3gs recording the charge on the shimmers. Having recorded the whole invasions (I’ll get into this more later)
The third is 3gs telling the two mephones the game plan for how they’ll do the invasions. Telling them the strategy for how they’ll get into the shimmer planet and steal the shimmers and get back out (spoilers it didn’t work oops)
We already know what the second log is so Umm
Third log. Study 8 am - 12 pm. Makes me think maybe it was a daily thing? Perhaps one of 3gs tasks was to study. What did he study? Mayhaps electronics? Mechanics? Space? Maybe he didn’t have the ability to generate items like 4 did so he had to learn how to do it by hand. So he spend weeks-months studying how. Learned how to build and pilot a space ship. Also studied about space too.
Extra memory recordings! Here’s where i get to the recording stuff I mentioned earlier. I believe that cobs heavily monitored his mephones. And I mean heavily. So heavily that he had them record most events that they experienced. This is so he can make sure that they’re doing their tasks with top performance. Also he can use the recordings to see the mistakes from past MePhone models so he can correct those in newer models.
Noveau recording. Noveau (according to a Google search) means modern or up to date. Perhaps this is 3gs recording himself updating? Noveau is short for noveau riche meaning “people who have recently acquired wealth, typically those perceived as ostentatious or lacking in good taste.” I then looked up ostentatious, which means “: attracting or seeking to attract attention, admiration, or envy often by gaudiness or obviousness : overly elaborate or conspicuous : characterized by, fond of, or evincing ostentation” this is actually very fitting of the mephones in general. Each new generation is new and up to date. New and flashy. (Continued in part 3)
Ok so. We get some voice clips from 3gs va (got during the 2022 ii x bfb meetup) 3gs seems pretty confident and cocky. When asked “how good are your terms with MePhone 2 and 3g” he responds with “they’re fine people but they weren’t as efficient at their jobs as I am” due to this voice clip words like Noveau riche and ostentatious certainly fit him.
Now that I think about it. Maybe the recording is 3gs recording himself advertising the mephone 3gs? Trying to show off how it’s the newest and latest MePhone model, how advanced and sleek it is, how much better he is, how much more efficient he is.
Ok take out the trash recording. Uh tying this back to cobs making the mephones record everything they do, just 3gs taking out the trash. Or could be 3gs recording a message reminding himself to take out the trash later. Taking out the trash could also mean like. Getting rid of the shimmers??? Shimmers = trash. Take out the shimmers…
Ok now toooo. Random theories!!
First off. The ship we see X on. I personally believe that is not the ship MePhone 4 and mepad were on. I know X is looking specifically for 4 but perhaps they just stumbled on 3GS old ship buried in the sand and falling apart after years of neglect and they just thought it was 4’s. MePhone 4’s ship landed by the cave so I don’t know how he would have gotten it by the beach. Besides maybe X was told to look for the ship first? They knew that 4 is on the island just not specifically where.
Ok and now to the “why did 3gs steal the shimmers just to hide them?”
I believe that on the way back to meeple 3gs realized that what he had done was terrible, that he was the bad guy in the situation. He didn’t want cobs to get either of the eggs. So he took one of the shimmer eggs to mars and hid it there. And took the other to a different planet (or hid it somewhere else on mars) doing so caused him to run out of fuel and caused him to crash his ship on the ii island (continued in part 4)
(This ties back to the ship in the sand being 3gs) 3gs then calls cobs to come get him. Afterwards 3gs explains to cobs what happened, but says he didn’t manage to get the shimmers and then gets sent to the closet.
Okokok so. How would cobs know what the shimmers looked like if he never went. Cobs saw fans egg and seemed to know what it was. So I think 3gs sent cobs updates with images of the shimmers as he was doing the invasions, or he recorded the invasions, and cobs looked back on those recordings before putting him in the closet. So he would know what they looked like.
And I’m starting to get to the point where this is draining so I’m gonna stop for now, I’ve pretty much said everything I’ve wanted too atm. May make a part 5. May not. Idk but I’m done for the moment

Why do all the mephones have different powers?
This is a pretty easy one to answer! It’s because they all have a different purpose.
MePhone4 (the MePhone we know best) has the ability to create things at will because he was made to create. Steve Cobs built MePhone4 so that he could have easy assess to a spaceship (and from all the “tasks” we see MePhone has, we can assume he was meant to make more that just that).
MePhone4S has more violent abilities (and weapons) because his main directive was to eliminate MePhone4 and take over the show. Which we now know is because Steve Cobs uses Inanimate Insanity for product placement, and didn’t want an older MePhone on TV. MePhone4S also had things like Siri and The Talking Hand, which were most likely there to help him host the show after MePhone4 was eliminated.
MePhone5 also had the ability to track and kill any pervious MePhones because he and 4S were meant to serve the same purpose. Kill the last MePhone and take over the show.
From that point we see these powers get more advanced with every MePhone. When MePhone4 survives MePhone5’s attack because he had 4S, Steve builds MePhone5S and MePhone5C. Two MePhones meant to work together to take down MePhone4. They were deadly, but still charismatic enough to effectively host the show if they succeeded.
As the MePhone’s go on, they get deadlier, but also weaker. So that if one eventually manages to take down MePhone4, it won’t be as difficult to replace them. We see this in 6 and 6+ who are able to be killed with just a touch, and we see this in action with 7 and 7+, who are killed and replaced easily in Inanimate Insanity Infinity.
The only Meeple products that we don’t have a solid idea on the purpose of their abilities is MePhoneX, A.D.A.M., and MePad.
As far as we know, A.D.A.M. doesn’t have any real powers because he’s just the shows producer. Though we don’t know that for sure. MePhoneX, while seemingly very dangerous, has only appeared in one scene, and therefore we don’t know exactly what his purpose is yet. But it’s safe to assume that he was built with the intention of tracking and killing MePhone4, like many of the other MePhones.
MePad is the most difficult one, because we don’t actually know what he was built for (though I certainly have a theory that I think is pretty solid). So I can’t really answer why he has his powers with 100% certainty.
Knowing what they were made to do also allows us to figure out what they Weren’t meant to do. As MePhone4 doesn’t have any dangerous powers (and is often quite helpless) we can assume he was never made to cause anyone harm. Which would explain why he was building a spaceship, instead of just going into space himself (something that we know previous MePhones had the ability to do).
I hope this clears things up!
#send an ask or something if you want me to make a post on what I think MePad’s purpose is#I haven’t really shared any theories on this blog before so I’m not sure if that’s something you guys want to see#tags for organization:#inanimate insanity#MePhone4#MePhone4S#MePhone5#MePhone5S#MePhone5C#MePhone6#MePhone6+#MePhone7#MePhone7+#MePhoneX#adam ii#MePad

EPISODE 14 Theory:
So, I did kinda come up with a theory on what would happen in the next episode of Inanimate Insanity II, so just bear with me for a few moments, since this will be a very long read.
RECAP ON EP. 13:
During Episode 13 (”Mine Your Own Business”), the challenge that the contestants were chosen to do was to mine diamond-shaped gems known as “Gemories” inside Gemory Cave, in which those gems start to reveal several hints about MePhone4′s backstory and the dark origins of the whole show.
About Gemories, the word itself is a combination of “gem” and “memory”, as MePhone4 wanted to expel all of his remaining memories of Cobs before Inanimate Insanity began. The emoji “💠” has been hinted at through the social media used by the Inanimate Insanity crew, which also appears to be the exact shape that these Gemories take.
For each of the final six contestants, a selected Gemory will show a certain flashback. Those follow as:
Test Tube - The creation of MePhone4 and the installation of his screen protector, in which he eventually removed in rebellion against Steve Cobs, his creator
Knife - MePhone4′s growing interest in creating his own reality survival show, in which Cobs claims as “trash”
Lightbulb - MePhone4 completing one of his tasks, in which he had to generate a tree; Steve Cobs expected a spaceship to be generated from him by the end of that day
Microphone - Not specified in the actual episode, but could have been when Adam was created and was immediately discarded
Baseball - MePhone4 trying to interact with Cobs, but was yelled at in the process, due to Cobs being in a meeting for the possible creation of MePhone4S (”I’ve always liked that red.”)
Suitcase - MePhone4 meeting a broken MePhone3GS inside a dark, shallow room, which was the exact same room that Adam was thrown away due to his malfunctioning problems
As shown, when these six Gemories were connected, they formed a similar silhouette of Cobs, in which the seventh Gemory would had possibly been placed in.
The seventh Gemory depicted MePhone4′s escape from Cobs and Meeple Headquarters, along with saving MePad and taking off his screen protector so that he would be free from his creator.
The connection of the seventh Gemory to MePad would eventually lead up to the events of Episode 14.
FIRST-HAND CLUES ON EPISODE 14:
The first clues to what Episode 14 will be about can be seen in the short teaser that was uploaded on the 9th anniversary of the show.
In this sneak peek, at the very end, shows a sequences of a transforming object, shifting from the Meeple logo, to what looks like a silhouette of the InvisiBows that Taco and Microphone wore during the events of Episode 13.
The Meeple logo symbolizes Meeple as a whole. This means that Meeple and its origins and uprisings would be brought up during the events of Episode 14, and could reveal what really happened to Meeple products such as MePhone4 and MePad.
The other symbol, however, is much more mysterious-looking than the other. Some people believed that Bow would be coming back, and others may see it as Taco secretly working for Cobs to take down MePhone4, but we would get back into that later. For me, I do see it as a symbol that may have been hinted at through the InvisiBows worn by Taco and Microphone.
This symbol can especially be seen on the white InvisiBow that Microphone can be seen wearing throughout Episode 13. This means that Taco would eventually betray Microphone, and could possibly get caught red-handed being a spy for Cobs.
Now, there are many more clues and hints on what will happen during Episode 14. Take this picture from the InanimateTweet Twitter account during Easter 2020.
This could mean that Cobs will play a bigger role in this episode, rather than being in multiple flashbacks like in Episode 13. This also hints Fan surprisingly returning, as you can his silhouette in the picture, along with Cobs and Test Tube. But the most important aspect of this picture is the egg being in the center.
Many believe that the egg will hatch in Episode 14, as it had already started to crack last episode. The sneak peek also shows the egg in the same position as it was in this picture.
The thing that could be inside of the egg is still pretty much unknown, but with it coming from Mars (throwback to “Marsh on Mars”) and it catching Cobs’ unwanted attention and his desire to take the egg from the contestants (another throwback to “Theft and Battery”), the egg will possibly play a huge role in Episode 14, both causing twists and turns in the events, and either developing or destroying relationships between other contestants.
HOW WILL THE EGG AFFECT EPISODE 14?:
This is what the biggest question is, regarding Episode 14. The egg has been a huge part of the series, appearing in almost every episode, alongside with contestants such as Fan and Test Tube, and it was also at risks at certain times. This time though, the egg is starting to hatch, and this comes with several clues on Episode 14.
The egg will possibly play a role in MePhone4 and Cobs’ trauma arc, meaning that it will determine several events to take place, and it is especially evident in the most recent sneak peek released a month ago.
In the sneak peek, we can see MePhone4 venting about his problems with Cobs to his assistant MePad, while also generating the painting created by Paintbrush a few episodes ago. As he continues to reveal that the show was never his in the first place, due to the manipulation tactics done by Cobs, here we see Taco and Microphone in the same setting as MePhone4 and MePad.
However, this is interrupted when a static wave ends up affecting MePhone4, resulting in the generation of what looks like a living room set.
The static wave actually hints to the egg that will be hatching this episode. This is because the sound that accompanies the wave of energy was placed in the same state that the egg was seen in the other sneak peek.
However, it had only seemed to affect MePhone4, but not MePad. It may be because MePhones usually have a generator-option set up in their systems, but nevertheless a MePad would end up getting one anyways.
The living room set that was generated as a result of the wave seems suspicious at best.
This specific living room set may reveal the actual origins of Inanimate Insanity, if not, the whole reason why the show was even created in the first place. It also seems that Cobs might be the one that is pulling the strings on the hosts and the contestants, like marionettes and string puppets.
Those origins may possible change the views of the contestants’ visions of the actual show, and may even scar them for life. The egg may also become a big-time factor on the change of the point of views of each of the final six contestants.
WHAT ABOUT THE CONTESTANTS THEMSELVES?:
Some of the sneak peeks that have been revealed over the last few months also reveal clues about the contestants themselves and their motives for the show.
Over the general group, it will seem that the final six contestants will try to reform their original groups; the Grand Slams and the Bright Lights. Since there are four Grand Slams members and two Bright Lights members remaining in the game, this might seem the case, as shown in the picture above.
All contestants, except for Lightbulb have been mentioned or shown, either visually or audio-wise, like in the audio sneak peek with Baseball, Suitcase and Test Tube.
However, with all sneak peeks combined, it is possible that one of those contestants will play a much bigger role than the others, and it would have been Suitcase herself that gets the role.
Taking a look at this sneak peek of what looks like a storyboard, this may reveal either another hallucination, a flashback, or a sudden vision that Suitcase encounters in this episode. This indicates that Suitcase might be in danger, shown by the vision.
CONCLUSION:
So, this is all I really have for now, but with the trailer just coming out, more clues have popped up, including Test Tube going berserk this episode, MePhone’s eventual plan, and if the egg was the cause of the chaos that happens in this episode. Sorry if this theory seems rushed.
We’ll have to wait a week until the full episode is out.

Hazed Out AU - Chapter 1
Author’s note: i know that we are all sobbing over the new episode, which is a great moment to drop the first chapter of our AU, so that y’all get more content to enjoy and distract yourself from all the pain that the episode caused, because it has nothing to do with the new episode even though it’s still a bit messed up, but still take it! i hope that all of you get to enjoy it, as we worked really hard on it! -mod Cinna
The contestants patiently stood in the field, waiting as they bickered in between themselves and talking about pretty much anything that came to mind in the peaceful early morning. The sun’s gentle rays of light gave a soothing warmth as MePhone stepped into the area, standing in front of the contestants as they quickly went quiet and drifted their attention towards the small smartphone. Mephone shifted, resting his hands on his hips as he took a quick glance to MePad, his ever so intelligent assistant, watching and standing beside him.
“Greetings and salutations!” MePhone spoke, his deep although quite cheerful voice resonating audibly as he gave his characteristic greeting. “I hope that everyone is ready for today’s challenge! It will depend entirely on your own ability to work together as a team and come up with something new and interesting” the host explained excitedly. The contestants just took their time to attentively listen to his instructions, “today’s challenge will be for each team to come up with their very own performance act, you will be scored in a scale of 1 to 20 depending on how spectacular your display of talent gets to be!” MePhone grinned at his own playful wording, enjoying himself quite a bit as some of the contestants gave him an annoyed glance. others snickered a bit, although their expression quickly changed to a more annoyed one as Cheesy took care of slapping his knee audibly shortly after, making his presence known in his own, quite obnoxious, way.
“Anyways…” MePhone drifted, refocusing himself on the subject at hand. “You will be judged by a few other guests and I, so I’d recommend that all of you do your best in the presentation! You have until tonight to come up with something and rehearse it, so all of you better hurry and get things going!” The host explained calmly, some of the contestants being visibly annoyed at how little time they had to get ready for the challenge. “And… what are you going to do in the meantime while we are busy with the performance?” PaintBrush asked, their voice tone consisting of curiosity, but believing that he was probably just going to sit around and not do much anyways.
“Well, PaintBrush, I’ll be taking care of setting the stage up for tonight, which isn’t an easy task as the equipment is actually quite heavy, complex, and annoying to get ready and going” MePhone complained, visibly irritated at having to do it himself. Unfortunately he really didn’t have anyone else that could help him carry around the equipment as Toilet would probably break them, and they were too heavy to be pushed around by MePad.
“I’d recommend that everyone gets around to working on their acts as soon as possible, you don’t have much time to work with and get things ready. I hope that everyone gets to do well in their performances and we will see you tonight, remember to not be late.” MePad noted, watching as the contestants dispersed into their own respective teams and left the area. Each of them moved to more private places so that the other team wouldn’t try to copy their performance.
MePhone turned around, gesturing MePad to follow him as they both left, chatting a bit together meanwhile they went to do their own tasks as well.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time skip
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MePhone shifted, holding firmly onto the large box he carried in his arms, trying to get onto the stage as he carefully walked up the stairs. He watched where he placed his feet as to not fall nor drop the box. This one being particularly heavy, filled with equipment that will be used to prepare the stage for the performances of both teams.
The small smartphone gave a soft sigh, taking a few moments to admire the peaceful evening silence and the sky’s landscape, the gentle gradient of oranges, purples and dark blues reminding the host that nighttime is getting near, and alongside it the presentation of the acts created by the teams. MePhone quickly snapped out of his thoughts, getting back to the task in hand and taking a few more steps across the stage, his dark shoes clicking gently against the wooden floor. while he lowered the large box he heard a soft rattle as the equipment all shifted inside, he placed the box onto the wooden floorboards of the stage.
MePhone lowered himself onto the floor as well, kneeling down beside the large box and starting to unpack its contents, taking several long cables out, some thin and some others fairly big, along with a few controllers and other miscellaneous electronics. He placed them onto the floor one after another, untangling them in the process to make it easier for him to work with them.
After a few moments of unpacking electronics, MePhone got interrupted by a quite annoying but all-too-familiar voice, making him jump a bit in his place. “MISTAH PHONE!” Toilet, the fairly loud and silly assistant called out, jumping onto the stage with the small smartphone, who just gave an irritated glance his way. “what is it, Toilet?” MePhone asked, his tone of voice clearly portraying his irritation at having the relaxing quiet of the evening be disturbed by his loud assistant. “Are ya almost done here?” Toilet asked back in his usual excited tone, “yeah, just go get MePad and the contestants; It’s almost time for the presentation” Mephone requested, getting up shortly after from his spot on the floor as he gestured Toilet to leave, just wanting to get everything set up already.
“OKaY, Mistah pHONe!” the cheerful assistant exclaimed, hopping off the stage and leaving the area as MePhone continued, getting behind a large speaker that was hidden behind the curtains and pushing it forwards, placing it so that it was closer to the edge of the stage, doing the same with another speaker located in the contrary end of the platform, before he grabbed a few of the large cables that rested on the floor.
Mephone kneeled down beside one of the speakers, starting to connect the cords into one of them, hearing the satisfying click it did as it was plugged in, before getting back up.
MePhone walked calmly to the other one, sitting back down as he heard everyone else approaching the area in the distance, struggling quite a bit as he tried to make the cord connect, not really being able to tell if the cable was bended or if it just wasn’t the correct one for the speaker, pressing his hands against the back of it as he tried to make the wire connect.
“Hello, sir” MePad greeted, calling MePhone’s attention as he took a glance towards the origin of the voice, “Hey, MePad.” the host greeted back, watching as the intelligent tablet walked up towards the stage alongside the contestants, some wearing hats, capes or ribbons of some sort for their presentations, cheerfully chatting amongst themselves, some also having sheets of paper in their hands, reading as they walked, doing what the smartphone supposed was rehearsing their acts.
“Hey, Mistah Phone! I’ll turn the power on now!!” MePhone suddenly stopped on his tracks, jolting in surprise as he heard Toilet. “Wait! Toilet, Don’t!—“ Before the smartphone could properly reply, he saw the lights turn on, blinding him for a small moment before he felt a sharp pain shot through and up his arms, freezing him in place as the intense pain spread across his body, overwhelming his system, making him glitch out as a few sparks came out of where his hands were placed against the speaker, barely able to tell much of what was going on as the intense electricity spread throughout his body.
“AAahH! A-A-a-A-AaAH!—” Mephone screamed out in pain, getting cut off and drawn out as his screen flickered on and off repeatedly, his teeth jittering as he shook in place, eyes open wide in shock as static and glitches spread across his screen. “Toilet! Turn it off!! Now!!” Baseball called out, everyone watching how it all happened so quickly and suddenly with concerned and shocked expressions, not knowing what to do as the lights flickered on and off repeatedly, before turning off completely.
The small smartphone collapsed, slamming his side against the wooden floorboards, making a small crack on his screen due to the impact as his screen continued glitching and flickering, a distorted warning that he was overheating appearing in his screen as his body twitched in place due to the intense electricity shock, before his screen, alongside his system, shut down entirely, totally unresponsive now as he laid unconscious.
to be continued....

NEW II AU ALART
Yeah it’s the new year but I got something better
Mephone4’s neighborhood AU
Sorry for the pencil drawings I’m too lazy to do digital
LET ME SET THE SCENE
Mephone4 and Mephone3Gs are roaming and they’ve gotten a lot of therapy and have become a lot better mentally but mephone4 still feels like he’s missing something. His love for television is still very present and he realizes how he still wants to be an entertainer but instead of doing high risk, flashy, brainrot reality tv, he decides to go into children’s television! Since he wanted a good role model on tv he thought he could be that role model to kids just like himself :D
While it’s difficult to find a program that would take mephone and he keeps doubting himself, 3GS reassured him that this can really be beneficial and that he will be with him the whole way so mephone4 also puts 3GS as a part of the show too :D
My whole inspiration for this is Mister Roger’s Neighborhood because I LOVEEE mister Roger’s and his progressive and beautiful work and I feel like mephone would need a role model like that instead of a commercial mascot.
The show follows the same segments as mister Roger’s, with different activities and going to see different people within the neighborhood. All of these people will be real people, not the contestants because… being on tv again will probably not be beneficial even if on a kids show. But me and my friend (who is also working on this silly AU with me @teacup789 ) do think Bot and Floory would make an appearance as guests once in a while. 3GS will run the make-believe land as the main character. Basically in mister Roger’s mister Roger’s makes a prompt of what they learn that day and makes believe that his characters in the make believe land are going though the same problem. Every puppet in the make believe land is puppeteered by mister Roger’s (mephone4) and there are one or two humans that guide the story within make believe land and help all the residents with their issues and tasks. That person in this AU is 3GS because of their kind and gentle nature and low stress of the role like Lady Aberline in the actual show.
This is all a silly idea because of my love for both old children’s television and a depressed phone :]
Me when I combine the two most randomest hyperfixations because I have free will:

It’s no problem! Even with characters I dislike, I’ve been trying to learn how to see why others may like them.
Interesting you bring up the idea of a redemption arc. I don’t know how likely it is that Mephone will even forgive him, even if he sees the error of his ways, but I think even if there isn’t forgiveness, it’s more so about the sincerity of the redemption. A redemption would have to be REAALLY well thought out for it to happen imo.
Like I said, I admit to disliking Cobs. I do admit that as a villain, he’s really intreguing. Not that I want to see him send hitmen after someone who was supposed to be his son or see him use his creations/children for his own benefit, it’s more that he reflects a type of person that we see all the time.
The greedy man who puts himself over the people he should care about. Even if he was running Meeple, he had the choice to treat his Mephones like royalty to ensure proper functionality, and keep them alive once the newest technology was discovered, but it’s interesting how he chooses instead to see his children as just machines with tasks and actually kills them when they’re “obsolete.” What goes on in the mind of that corn on the cob? That’s what I’m interested in after ep 13.
Sorry about the tangent! It is an interesting discussion to have! For those who are worried, I dont stan Cobs, I just have been wanting to talk about him for a while! Plz no hate toward me or OP, it’s just a discussion abt evil corn man and why some people may like him.
im curious, what is it about Cobs that you like? no, i’m not a hater! i think it’d be a nice discussion to have to see why cobs “stans” exist. what do you think about the things he has done in the show?
I really just like him for his appearance, it appeals to me. I do not support his personality at all and I do indeed think it is wrong of the things he does in the show. Although, I do believe he can find the error of his ways and redeem himself. It’s like most other villains of a cartoon show. For example: Discord from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. He redeemed himself in the end in the older season finale. If other villains of a cartoon can become good, then so can Cobs! Also, I must thank you for not attacking me for an opinion on a character, I really do appreciate it. It means the universe to me. I’m more than glad I could answer a question that isn’t rasping and full of aggression.

I've kinda been dumping old au ideas here for anyone to take but I'm reclaiming the one cobs kidnapping contestants to experiment on them (The one with him taking Taco cause of her materialising tea)
It's not an entirely original idea but I'm taking my version back even tho I don't think ayone took it anyways
I kind of want to expand on it more and I might make a fic of it once I'm done with Secret Phantoms
I think that it could be an alternative to the season 2 finale, instead of contestants being deleted they just dissapeared (teleported to meeple hq or fucking meeple labs idk)
Cobs is fascinated by MePhone's creations, not only has he created life but he's created useful life with powers and abilities that he's planning to contain or replicate
Maybe he also wants the contestants because he believes they have part of the shimmer egg/energy infused with them and he might also want to study their coding
This time the MeLife has nothing to do with this, Cobs just invented teleportation and this is how he's using it lmao. He takes Pickle, OJ and Nickel as trial runs (although he has particular interest in OJ's programmed victory) after that the kidnappings are out of order/unrelated to the deaths in the show :)
Eventually he loses interest in them, any attempts of containing or recreating abilities just don't work and the coding that holds their existence is outdated and hardly staying together, it's a miracle the contestants haven't lagged so bad they glitched out of existence but he finds entertainment in having MePhone witness and assist the experiments and studys, most of which are painful to the contestants. Especially when he digs into their coding.
But he finds alternative uses aswell, Lightbulb is forced the generate power to the whole facility with her electricity constantly being stimulated by the machinery she us trapped in. Test Tube is tortured and threatened into helping Cobs, she directly helps him in his tests and studies of the others. OJ and Paintbrush got off "lucky", they are still experimented on but not as often and their tasks are envied by the others, Paintbrush forced to constantly paint portraits of Cobs and meeple related things and OJ helps manage meeple finances.
Uhhh... thats all a got so far. I made up most of this om the spot and I'm a little tipsy rn (HAPPY NEW YEAR :3) so if this is a bit all over the place, I'm sorry 😞
Very very intriguing. Cobs would definitely make MePhone watch whatever horrible things he does to his contestants. And happy belated new year!
