Around Christmas, I was feeling lonely and bored and so I decided to dowload a dating app. One that promised to be for introverts and that you could find friends on it too. And I will admit I got a bit spooked the first few times someone tried to make contact with me, but I did eventually end up talking to a bunch of people about a bunch of random things, for a couple days or even weeks.

But it's the middle of February and I'm not talking to any of them anymore. At some point, we just stopped and I don't even know how. And it hit me today, how much that just... keeps happening to. Even with people I know in real life. And I just... I don't know. Making friends and making longterm friends seems so easy for everyone around me and I...

I don't know what it is about me that makes people just not want to try. What makes them stop trying. I don't know what part of me is so awful that so many people, people I used to talk to everyday and hang out with regularly, who I've opened up to and who I've helped when they were sad, what makes all of these people decide to just give up on me. What's the reason they're so alright with losing me.

I don't know what college my friend, who was at one point my biggest moral support, went to.

The friend I once planned to go a Pride parade in couple's cosplay with just stopped talking to me one day and I know she kept going out with other people from our friendgroup.

My longest, closest friendship ended in a fight that wasn't even about the two of us, and when I texted her to apologize and tell her that I miss her, she told me that "people come and people go."

It takes me a while, sure, but it's so easy for me to get awfully close to people when the ice gets broken and yet it seems so easy for all of them to just leave me. And I can't help but wonder when the two and a half friends that I somehow have now will leave me too.

this is from "dreamscaperers", and apparently ford had been dreaming about the cipher wheel for weeks before he even found the cave. enough times that he was even able to perfectly draw the wheel on the journal. bill didnt even know about ford yet.
