So yesterday I met Aaron Dismuke at a con and he is legit the sweetest person ever he really liked my Ruby cosplay too. We talked Rosegarden, Oscar, the merge, he mentioned the Oscar protection squad and how we are doing a splendid job, Oscar’s trauma and much more. I also got both a photo and autograph. Anyway the main reason for this post is that he did a recording for me and I legit died. Btw this was all his idea ( I didn’t know what I wanted him to say).

I was scrolling through the recents in the Jeremy Strong tag and oh my god. There’s so many people being so cruel. So can I just say☺️… SHUT UP SHUT THE HELL UPPPPPPPPP

And then the dude they like is wearing a black and white suit or wearing something we’ve seen 1000 times. They’ve got money, it’s a red carpet, wear something we’ve never seen before.

Making fun of him cause he looks sad after the lose,.. yeah of course he’s sad, he deserved that award and worked so hard for it, playing a nonfictional historical character so well that I couldn’t even see him as Jeremy on screen. (Straight man had to do a receiving back shot scene for no award? Loll sorry I just had to add this).

And then I think people making fun of his personality and work is what really fucking gets me. He is seriously the kindest man I have ever met. “Method actor bullshit”. No, shut up. As a person who was in plays and still enjoys being involved in theater, it’s so much more than that. They read one article or see one tik tok video and are like ‘omg this guy is so bad’ and that’s their only research lmao. He works very hard, does his deep research, and puts so much time into what he does just to make the film feel so real.

He is just so unique and beautiful and that’s what I love most about him. I’ve posted this video a couple of times now but I���m doing it again just to show you how sweet he is:

He must have been so tired and yet he took his time with each person and kept the conversation going. And kept a smile on his face the whole time after I gifted him my bracelet😫😫😫 Can’t even watch the video cause I just either get way too excited or cry lolll.

Anyways my point is; people who are so bored and start shit just out of spite about kind people who have done nothing wrong are truly media brain rotted and have nothing better to do with their time. Yeah sure, I’ve made fun of some celebs that aren’t particularly bad people, but I don’t shit on everything they do and just hate them completely and then post about it. So to end this, Jeremy haters: get a hobby and do actual research😉 or if you do that already, wow congrats, so happy for you. Would you like a reward? I'm knitting in the corner at a party

and guys my age stop by to tell me I remind them of their aunt, of their grandmother. This is a compliment and I take it as such. They confess to having tried crochet once, and I smile. They get back in line for the bathroom.

I'm knitting in the corner at a party and a queer woman sits on the floor next to me, arranges her skirt, and smiles up at me. (I try not to blush.) She asks me all the questions on her mind about my craft and I answer them, hands still moving. We swap yarn sources. She doesn't stay, but she knows where to find me.

I'm knitting in the corner at a party and everyone knows where to find me when they need a minute, when socializing is too much and the music is too loud and they need to catch their breath. They pretend to be checking in on me, which is sweet, but I can see the relief in their eyes the moment they stop performing for a house full of people. They sit down and tell me things and all the while they never take their eyes off my hands.

The party has wound down and I'm still knitting and the hosts, two guys in their twenties, thank me for "helping to curate the vibe." I had no idea that's what I was doing. I leave the party having forgotten to drink anything and without that woman's number but with many rows added to my top-down raglan sweater. I call it a night, and a good one.

I will genuinely never forgive anyone involved in making The Imitation Game for their absolute travesty of Alan Turing’s story.

He was intensely autistic, and gay, and *kind*.

He mentored people below him in the programme - including women, who pretty much everyone else was crappy to.

He had terrible allergies and went cycling in a gas mask in the country to avoid then, and when he got overstimulated at parties he pulled incredibly daft elaborate “walking into a cupboard” leaving gags to handle them that left everyone screaming on the floor despite the silliness.

He got on really well with kids and never talked down to them. He gave his neighbours his sugar rations on their kids’ birthdays so she could always make them birthday cakes - even when he was being persecuted after the war, even when he was suffering horrible side effects from the tortures they put him through.

He was such an utterly, genuinely lovely human being, and he deserved so much damn better, and at the very *least* he deserved to be portrayed as who he was in the 21st fucking century instead of falling into a whole slew of horrifically harmful stereotypes that erased the fucking gift he was to us all over again.
