random little rant BUT

zayne’s new card (absolute zeal) made me appreciate him so much to the point that i fell deeper in love?!?!?! AND, at the end of the day, doctor freaking zayne embodies everything that i stand for in my type of man (or at least in a romantic partner).

as a woman in stem, it’s just so attractive to me to find someone like zayne. someone incredibly smart and knowledgeable about complex topics the typical human mind can’t comprehend, someone so considerate and careful in and out of his workplace and ESPECIALLY to his woman (the way he pushed away all those books in his desk to help mc sit comfortably lives in my mind rent-free 😵‍💫).

and he’s so unexpectedly poetic?! everything he said about finding the right person, finding love in even the most dire of situations just resonated to me in a way that nothing ever has. the way he rendered mc speechless after all that is just peak soulmate-ism 🙌

anyway, i’ll end it here before i go off into a tangent, like i still love you sm rafayel but zayne… he’s everything i’ve ever wanted and more!!

p.s. i might MIGHT change the whole theme of this blog from raf to zayne I’M SORRY 😭😭

in kep's training class there's one other dog about his age who is a recent rescue from down south and she is sweet but soooo scared and shut down, so the trainer has paired her and kep up so kep can be the role model 😅 because he's got such an outgoing, confident temperament he helps set a good example for her, like when today there was a thunder rumble outside and she glanced over at kep, who was blissfully continuing to wiggle at me and beg for treats, and you could see her visibly relax a bit like "oh ok, no one else is concerned about this." and she wagged her tail once today at a stranger! huge progress.

basically kep is her assigned Emotional Support Himbo. he's SO good at being a dumb puppy i love that we've weaponized it.

Jay Headcanons

literally a daVinci man in the flesh—he can do/learn about anything (if he wants to). Circuitry, coding, wiring—he's your dude. Doesn't seem like the most detail-oriented person, but he is.

conventionally a pretty boy—his sense of fashion is atrocious (in comparison to Kai and Nya), but he pulls it off bc he's a pretty boy.

his hair was straighter in the beginning, but once he kept using his lightning ability, his hair became curlier due to the constant usage. he learned to embrace it, asking Kai for hair help (after a particularly bad hair day).

do not let this man near coffee, candy, or any stimulant. the last time he & Lloyd broke into a candy stash, neither of them went to bed for three days. The Bounty barely survived.

intuitively smart—although, barely anyone can keep up with his leaps in logic (RIP Zane, who has to compute as fast as he can to keep up with Jay sometimes).

my guy has a mind map in his room, complete with the red string & everything. sometimes, it's just small mysteries around the monastery and the bounty (i.e., who stole his pudding cup), or their current predicament (Garmadon with his Mega-Weapon, Snakes, Time Twins, etc.).

q!tubbo doesn't feel prepared to raise a kid, HE'S ONLY JUST STOPPED BEING A KID HIMSELF!! but he will try. for sunny, he will try his best. he wants to give her the world, to make sure she always knows she is first choice, that she is loved and adored and cared for.

bc q!tubbo never really felt that, and god forbid sunny ever feel the way he does. he will do his best to make sure she never wants for anything, that she is loved and knows it, and that she never feels like she's second place.

and in return, slowly but surely, q!tubbo feels what its like to be someone's first choice, to be loved unconditionally (even if told otherwise jokingly) and to be adored. because sunny adores him, he's her pa.

there's a lot that still hurts. he still feels like he isn't the other residents' priority and the days since seeing fred have grown too many to still have hope. but he has sunny. and sunny has him. they've got this.

Book 8 TGCF Spoilers!

I actually really love the way Xie Lian is the strongest in all the three realms, yet still needed help from Hua Cheng to defeat Jun Wu. I know some may have been disappointed, but this has never felt contradictory to me. It has never given me the impression that Xie Lian is weak or maybe not as powerful as he’s made out to be. Rather, it yet again cemented the fact (perhaps for one final time in the series) that Xie Lian is human—one of the main themes in his story and TGCF as a whole.

Xie Lian is the strongest in all the three realms. But he still needed Hua Cheng to break his shackles for him so he could fight his battle. Hua cheng did not fight said battle for him—that was Xie lian’s fight and he knew it. But he was there for him. He helped him literally with the power of love haha—his spiritual power comes from his obsession, which is his love for Xie Lian. In more ways than one, it was his love and support that helped Xie Lian stand tall and be able to fight with his full heart and strength again.

The fact that Xie Lian is the strongest is why it is so meaningful that he received help—being someone who had a history of being forced to handle every crisis alone.

It is okay that Hua Cheng helped him. To me, this says that even the strongest people need help sometimes—need love and support. And that support can be everything.

You’re not meant to fight your biggest battles alone.

Receiving help/support does not nullify your strength or make you any less capable (it makes you even stronger).

It’s a beautiful message.
