The Gilmore Girls biggest fault is ruining already established great characters. Very long ramble and its just my opinion. Please read and tell me your thoughts but be nice!

Dean

Dean was a great character in the beginning! He was a dreamy, slightly mysterious, new kid from Chicago who worked on cars. His initial attraction to Rory is because of how intently she reads, Lane says he is thrilled when he hears Rory has been accepted to the prestigious private school Chilton. Then the writers dumb him down, Rory’s love of books bores him, he doesn’t care about her pursuit of an Ivy League education, he cheats on his wife with Rory.

Jess

Now I do really like Jess but his character was basically just an edgier version of Deans original character. Dreamy new boy from New York, mysterious, and he also notices how much Rory likes to read, but he likes reading too. However, to set them apart Jess has an attitude and is mischievous. Jess makes it known he has a thing for Rory pretty much since he’s introduced (Like Dean). It makes Jess look like a jerk. Since he’s literally encouraging Rory to leave her boyfriend for him. Then they do get into a relationship! Jess’s attitude just grows and grows. Some of his actions towards Rory are inexcusable. Then ✨poof✨ he just disappears. Jess was a complex character with a bad past, the show really could have leaned into that. We could have seen more character growth. But nope! (Also side note I think Jess and Paris would have been a great couple)

Marty

Marty was a funny new guy Rory meets at college. We first see him when He and Rory show up extra early to their first class (showing one of their similarities). Then, his first introduction is Rory finding him butt naked in front of her dorm. (My personal favorite introduction). He also has a slightly similar financial situation as Rory. While yes Rory’s grandparents have money Rory doesn’t. What money she gets from Emily and Richard comes with strings. Marty is always working odd jobs to help put him through school. He isn’t a trust fund kid and while I think Rory has a trust fund. She does know what its like not to have money. Lets not forget Lorelai and Rory lived in a shed! (But yeah Rory is pretty spoiled by the end) They have similar sense of humors and they like the same movies! He was really sweet (also cute) and he was a perfect new friend for Rory. But Noooo, he just had to have feelings for her. Then, he disappears for like 3? seasons and pops up like 2 more times.

Paris

Paris was a highly competitive, extremely smart, and witty student. (Also slightly a bitch but love her though). Paris and Rory pushed each other to do better in their classes. We find out though Paris is more than just a strong student. She has home life issues and struggles with self esteem. She also has had a long time crush on cute classmate Tristian. There is some focus on Paris’s issues with self-esteem especially when she meets Jamie and she mentions her bad home life. But, her home life is treated more or less as an ongoing joke. I think Paris’s issues should have been taken more seriously. Especially when she goes to Yale after her breakdown when she isn’t accepted into Harvard. But, when Paris goes to Yale she’s basically just a joke. Her issues are solved by her obsession with arts and crafts? She still has anger issues and takes control over things. Like the newspaper and then CHEATS on her great boyfriend Jamie. I don’t have anything really against Doyle. Im just not a fan of how they did Paris’s character.

Lane

Its pretty universally agreed that Lane was done wrong. Lane was a great kid! The show really could have done so much more with Lane’s religious trauma. Also, with the fact Lane gets kicked out. Not to mention the Dave situation. AMAZING boyfriend Dave. I get it the actor left to star in The OC but Zach? Why not add a new member to the band? Create a nice new character, maybe a member of a different band thats playing at the same placed they are. But Nope! She marries Zach, has an awful experience with sex, then gets pregnant with twins. Zach slept around plenty before Lane, you’d think he would be better with birth control. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Au where they have the miraculous, but after LB and Chats debut, Alya makes an update discord server as well as the Blog. Adrien doesn't go to their school, his father using the amok to stop him, but he joins the server. What's the harm in getting updates quicker than the ladyblog anyways?

Marinette joins for the same reason, as well as supporting her friend.

Alya eventually opens up a general section so people can talk, and share experiences. To bring the server together (she also finds volunteer therapist's with experience who help Akuma victims through the server cause Alyas like that). Adrien is the biggest Ladybug fan, his username is probably something like LBLove123 and Marinette is Chat's. She literally pays nitro so she can make her server name and entire server profile Chat Noir themed. They get into light hearted joke arguments about who the better Hero is, eventually Marinette wins and Adrien has to change his profile picture to some mug of Chat as a losing thingy.

All while this is happening, Lb and Chat are hiding the fact they're on the server from one another.

After like, half a year Adrien dm's marinette like "hey, so you like. Really like Chat Noir, huh?" And she goes "no. He's actually the worst and I hate him" adrien, the autistic little dumbass he is takes it as the truth and responds with "oh :(" So marinette apologises a ton and starts using tone tags. They add eachother as friends and even start playing online UMC on VC together.

Adrien really wants to meet marinette, but she responds with "how about this, when Ladybug and Chat Noir get together." And it's like a reverse crush au, so Adrien is infatuated with this girl he's never met and Marinette falls for Chat. So now, chat is trying to convince Lb to fake date him, and she (as much as she wants to say yes) says no. Because well. It's dangerous! Stuff could happen and it might not end well! Plus, it would mean LbLove123 (who only kept his name to match Marinette's) won the bet she set up in her head

Basically reverse crush online friend adrienette au while they're actually just eachothers dumbass superhero partner.

Plagg would egg him on, Tikki would warn her the risks of people online.

Hello there gorgeous ✨

Prompt idea with reader being a part of a band that's heavily inspired by Babymetal, like the type of music is pop mixed with metal, the outfits, the whole vibe basically. Heaven's got a new band in town and it's reader's band (You can either create a name for them, go without mentioning any name or whatever else you choose to do with that! You can even ask me and we'll both think about the name c:). Adam at first was like "Tf? New band getting popular? Pfft, they probably suck, no one can out-do the first fucking man🙄" but then when Lute asked him to actually go and check it out with her since she got curious when one of the exterminators went there and told her that it was absolutely fucking awesome. They go and it's literally just a blast. The crowd work is astonishing with how the fans, even the shy ones, have no problems with being vocal with the lyrics or movement, the light effects are just top notch, sound quality is gorgeous and clear, the vibe on its own is just one of a kind and Adam is like "Yeah, shit, this is actually really cool, like wtf" but the biggest magic is when he first hears and then sees the reader alongside the two of his like "backup vocals" (I wouldn't really call Mo or Moa that, but I can't find a better word rn) absolutely rocking out, enchanting everyone as if he was some sort of magician, making Adam start questioning his sexuality, simply going "Am I fucking gay? What's actually happening right now?"

A new band was blowing up in heaven, their posters were everywhere and Adam was already pissed off by it. Who the fuck did they think they were? Playing in his area? Fuck no. He avoided them as best as he could - considering that their posters hung in every window it wasn't that easy to do.

Lute landed next to Adam, she was visibly excited about something so the first man stopped with a sigh and turned around to look at her, “Sir, have you heard about Divine Fuck-Ups?” Adam growled as he gave Lute a nod, “Bitch, their posters are everywhere, how could I fucking not?” Lute simply rolled her eyes at him, “Yeah well, the other exorcists won't shut up about how good they are so,” the exorcist pulled out two concert tickets. Adam looked down at her, his expression a mix between hatred and betrayal. Had Lute seriously bought two tickets to a different band's concert? Especially when that band was playing in his fucking area on his fucking main stage? Apparently she fucking did. “You bought fucking tickets,” Adam grumbled, pointing out the most obvious thing ever. “The concert is tonight, I'll pick you up so we won't be late.” And it was not like Adam could have disagreed with her, Lute was onto something and the brunette was pretty sure she'd move mountains to get his ass to that concert.

The concert was… different than what Adam had expected it to be, the crowd was loud and wild, there were multiple mosh pits and none of their fans stood still for even the finest moment, they were constantly moving, vibing, enjoying their music to the brim. The first man had to admit: he was impressed by that. The only thing that bothered him was, that Lute had picked him up so fucking late that they were basically behind the massive crowd, enjoying the concert from the distance which also meant even though Adam was tall, he wasn't seeing shit.

So he simply grabbed Lute's wrist and pulled her with him as he made his way through the crowd, careful not to hurt anyone. Because while he was all for rock ‘n’ roll, the most rock thing to do was to watch out for each other at concerts, a rule he had learned very early.

He had somehow managed to make it to the front row, Lute by his side as he finally laid eyes on you for the first time. Your hair was sticking to your forehead, it was soaked in sweat just like the rest of your body - that was probably the reason why you were shirtless, wearing nothing but a black jeans vest with golden spikes on its shoulders. Your arm was wrapped around the waist of your background singer and you and him shared a microphone as you growled the lyrics of Lute's favorite song.

The background singer that had been in your arm only moments ago, was now dropping to his knees in front of you, grabbing your hips and wiggling them, his face only a couple centimeters away from your crotch, before he quickly got up again. Holy fuck that was hot. Adam was visibly mesmerized by your performance, not just the singing, growling and shouting but the way you owned that stage. The way you made the people go wild, your harmony with your band mates was a once in a lifetime sorta bond and the first man loved everything about it.

The song ended and you breathed heavily into your microphone. “Make some noise for Cove,” you yelled only to lick the man's jaw, Cove - the background singer that had gone down on you during your performance - was enjoying it, a little too much to Adam's liking but who was he to judge? Well he was the first man, that's who he was. “Okay, whatcha say to one more fucking song?” The crowd screamed and cheered, demanding the offered song like it was their air to breathe, shit even Lute screamed at the top of her lungs. Her white hair was all messy, her clothes clung to her body due to her sweating so much and she looked like she had one hell of a time.

The guitarist played the first three cords and the people around Adam were cheering, clapping and whistling. Then the drummer joined in and so did the bassist. Then your voice echoed through the air and Adam felt like he was in trance, all he needed was your voice and your body.

He wasn't able to dance, to enjoy the music, all he was hearing was your angelic sounding voice, it was enchanting through and through. The way you were moving your body held him in a chokehold, the amount of control you must have had over every single muscle was pure bliss in his eyes. He didn't even realize that the last song had ended and that you had just spoken your goodbyes, that's how lost he had been in your voice.

He really didn't understand why but everything inside of him was screaming to get to you, to make you his, to have you. Where those thoughts came from he didn't know, he wasn't gay after all but fuck you had looked hot on stage, better than any woman could have.

Don't ask him how, but he had managed to get a backstage pass once the concert had ended, it definitely had its advantages to be the first man. So there he was, waiting for you to arrive and once the door opened his eyes were basically glued onto you. “Hey there babes,” a cocky, confident smirk was on his lips as he pulled his mask off his head. You gave him a quick glance out of the corner of your eye as you walked over to your dresser, “So you're the bitch who thought of him as important enough to get backstage even though my team told ya no, huh?” Adam tilted his chin upwards as if that was something to accomplish, something to be proud of, “The one fucking and only.” You just rolled your eyes at his answer as you turned around to face him properly, “Listen, if you wanna hook up, now's a bad time. I have to get ready for another gig in just a couple of hours on the other side of heaven, be a fucking babe and leave, okay?” Oh but the brunette wasn't planning to, not now, not when he had the person he desired right in front of him. He walked over to you, his hand was quick to grab you by your hip and pull you in, the first man leaned down a little and murmured, “Oh babes, no need to act like you're fucking hard to get, I know you want me just as much as I want you.”

And that actually caused you to chuckle, because the confidence was so fucking wrong. You had just told him no and yet he acted like he was the man of your dreams. “Cutie,” your finger slid down his chest and stopped at his sternum, tapping him there harshly as your voice dropped an octave and your expression shifted to seriousness, “I do men, not boys. Come back when you decide to act like one.” And fuck, that did things to Adam, things he would never be able to admit to, not fully at least. Because you were acting like hot shit and for the first time he wasn't annoyed by it. Because you were hot shit, fuck probably the hottest shit he had ever laid eyes onto. “Now move your pretty ass out of my dressing room, babes,” you gave the first man one last sweet smile, your finger traced along his jaw and he leaned into every bit of touch he got from you. His eyes were clouded and for the first time in very fucking long it wasn't just lust that fogged up his mind, but interest and maybe even love.

✨ Rook’s Roost AU: Liselath Cordova ✨

Right off the bat imma apologize for the severe gothic period drama of this all. Lisel is basically a little ghost that scurries around in Viago’s attic.

I went ahead and bolded any info I thought was particularly important. For a summary 😆 since this is sort long.

The bones of the story are the same: Liselath was raised Dalish and designated at birth to be the clan’s next hearth keeper, a ceremonial role that catered to a lot of domestic arts (in addition to singing, playing instruments, and dance. Her clan was wiped out after an attack by the Antaam as they began their invasion of Antiva, she was about 15. Lisel was saved by Viago de Riva after he found her in critical condition.

She has a very noticeable scar trailing down her left lower chin, neck, and ending on her right color bone. She’s exceedingly self conscious of it, Lisel likes to hide her past and her scar is a visible representation of it. When you see it, she knows you know something traumatic happened to her and that makes her feel vulnerable.

Viago began training her, somewhat secretly, as a fledgling. He referred to her as if she were just an artist which he patronized and housed, going so far as to give her a last name from a lesser known branch of his family: Cordova. While she definitely talked with other members of the de Riva house, she was never sure which ones were fully aware of her actual position. (She never bothered to ask Viago because that’s a very Lisel thing to do.)

As such, Lisel kept to herself much of the time.

One exception to this was @alystrin03 ‘s Alecto- who Lisel sort of idolized after seeing her interactions with the other Crows. She definitely sent her fan mail letters. Lisel is drawn to anyone who is bold and/or transparent with their feelings.

I’m totally open to adding in other de Rivas/rooks into Lisel’s backstory btw, I just didn’t want to assume! If you think Vi would have let your rook in on the true identity of the weird ghost elf living in the upper apartments of his villa then he totally did. Although Lisel may or may not know that.

Lisel was mostly utilized for reconnaissance and covert poisonings, although Viago made sure she could protect herself with her magic if the need arose.

For this au the biggest difference in their relationship is a slightly more strained dynamic, with Lisel feeling much more anxiously attached to Viago. This is exacerbated when Lisel blows her cover after (insert Antaam incident equivalent) and is sent away to a smaller estate for her own safety.

Viago visits her after about a year and realizes that this relocation has not been good for her- at all. He sends her to join the VG in the hopes that it will lift her spirits (and to pacify some of the guilt he has.) ((maybe at @alystrin03 Alecto’s insistence?))

Seeing as she hasn’t had a year to explore Thedas with Varric and Lace, she’s bitter as fuck and extra reluctant to talk to anyone.

You’d usually find Lisel in her room, the library (is Alana gonna help Lisel with the library or is that too close to real life? 😆 @therivercrow ), staring off into space from a high balcony and pretending she didn’t hear you talking to her. Sometimes when she thinks nobody is around she’ll play a song on her bass and sing on the same balcony, but will skulk away if she notices someone watching her.

Factions & Personality

Overall she’s very aloof and standoffish, which is easily mistaken for shyness. But she’s not shy, she just has a difficult time finding words and keeping up conversations. Lis hates talking about herself or her past and does her best to cut off any conversation which revolves around it. If she likes you, you’ll most likely end up with a letter pushed under your door or a simple gift or errand done for you. Something you don’t remember mentioning needing, but could definitely use. When she’s comfortable with you she might start getting playful, doing little harmless pranks or poking fun. She might even write a song about you 😆 (she has many for Vi and Teia)

She's also likely very interested in any veil jumpers due to their knowledge of Dalish history and customs (if your Rook is Dalish she’s also interested immediately). For Lisel, “interested” means willing to overlook her reluctance to speak and be social. She might even initiate if she feels like you’re a safe person. Either way you’ll probably get a note pushed under your door (on Viago’s expensive stationary ofc, she stole a whole stack of those fuckers when he kicked her out.)

Ngl Liselath is checking out any grey wardens or lord of fortunes out there. She’d love a strong fella (gn) to cling to and take care of.

Missions & Roles

This is somewhat vague, but Liselath is great at getting things done. If you ask her to do something, it’ll be done before the day is over. (This is why Viago had a soft spot for her, she’s a good, responsible student.)

She also has a lot of medical knowledge from her training under Sylaise, so I could see her running the infirmary, acting as healer, or being designated to protect groups caught in the crossfire. She’s fiercely protective of innocents, especially young people. In general I think she’d be happy to sit back as a support role, save for certain missions that involve rescuing people. She would insist on being part of those and wouldn’t accept no for an answer.

She’s also a perfect spy. She’s cute, unassuming, and fantastic at playing dumb. (Also why Viago liked her, she could practically just ask someone to take a drink of poison). Although she’s less enthusiastic at taking on these roles.

She’s great at defensive magic (mind blast and shields) and, being a dancer, she’s quick and agile. A lot of her fighting centers around tiring out her opponents and making them angry at not being able to land a hit, then striking powerfully while they become sloppy from frustration. Her offensive is generally weaker, until she gets hurt- then her anger overrides her reluctance to cause pain.

Also! I wasn’t sure if it was too much to add- but if possible I’d like to keep the relationship between Lis and Catarina. Essentially that she loved her and spent occasional leisure time with her. This never comes up again and doesn’t get Lisel any special privileges, save for small birthday presents. I just like giving her someone to be sort of sweet with + it being Catarina is kinda funny.

A = Affection (How do they show affection for each other? Are they into PDA?)

Vienna shows her affection through all possible methods. Doing things for Jill, buying her things, telling her she loves her endlessly, and her personal favorite, physical affection. Kisses, cuddles, hugs, the whole works. And while Jill does a a bit of each as well, she knows Vienna favors the physical stuff, so that tends to be what she sticks to most. Jill isn’t the biggest fan of PDA, however, but she won’t completely disallow it. She prefers PDA to be more subtle. A slow dance, holding hands or a kiss on the cheek is usually as far as it goes in public.

B = Best (What do they think is the best thing about their partner(s)?)

Vienna swears the best thing about Jill is her voice, which is a good thing, as Jill rarely stops talking. But Vienna truly adores it, and she could listen to her all day. Jill thinks the best thing about Vienna is her work ethic. Vienna is the type of girl that’s pretty enough to just get a lot of things handed to her, but she works for what she wants, and that’s something Jill really admires.

C = Communication (Do they communicate well? How often are fights or misunderstandings?)

Jill is a very clear and direct communicator, which Vienna often finds refreshing, even if it can get a little harsh sometimes. Vienna isn’t quite as blunt or open as Jill in the way she communicates, but given some time, and the right words, she does her best to let Jill know how she’s feeling. Fights and misunderstandings happen, but not too frequently.

D = Domestic (Do they want a family? Kids? Pets?)

Vienna has never really wanted kids, but she loves Jill's daughter Ally. It’s mostly younger kids she can’t connect with. And Ally is basically grown when she meets her. Jill had considered having another kid, but not anymore at this point in her life. There will however, always be a little dog or two running around their apartment.

E = Establish (How did the relationship begin?)

Pretty much answered in letter U, but the official starting point was the day Bobby told Jill the diagnosis. Jill's having a hard time dealing with it, and when she goes to Vienna to tell her everything Bobby said, Jill thinks he’s out of his mind that Vienna should take his place if he should die, and Vienna is caught with an over emotional Jill who's hugging onto her for dear life and Vienna tells her that no matter what happens, she’ll be there for her, and when Jill sees the sincerity in Vienna's eyes and kisses her for the very first time.

F = Family (How does introducing them to friends/family go?)

Jill's mom likes Vienna immediately. To her she’s already a part of the family. She just wants her to try her best to keep Jill happy. Vienna's father doesn't exactly expect her to bring home ✨Jill✨ aka a redheaded jewish woman who's twice her age, so it takes him a minute to digest it all, but not too long for him to decide he likes her. And while Vienna occasionally feels a little out of depth with Jill's friends, they tend to be pretty welcoming to her overall.

G = Gift (Are they gift givers? Any significant or meaningful gifts exchanged between them?)

Jill loves gifts, and Vienna loves giving them to her. She isn’t obscenely wealthy, so she’s a little shy about her gifts meeting Jill's expectations, but she does love to spoil her, and Jill always seems grateful, so it evens out. And Jill likes to surprise Vienna with little gifts as well, which she takes great pride in picking out.

H = Habits (What annoying or endearing habits do they have?)

Vienna has a habit of zoning out when Jill's been talking for a while. It’s not that she doesn’t want to be listening, more so that she just finds it so cute when Jill gets going on some tangent that she can’t help but shut her brain off and just go all heart eyes at her. Jill wants to be mad about it, but usually finds that she can’t. Jill has a habit of popping in on Vienna and scaring the hell out of her, which leads to a conversation about knocking.

| = I Love You (Who said I love you first? When did they know they were in love?)

Vienna said it first. If asked, she’ll say it was love at first sight, and if you believe in that sort of thing, it kind of was. But it was really that first kiss that sealed it for her. Jill knew she was in love after Vienna stepped in and confronted Ramona over something she’d said about Jill. She was calm and gracious about it, even when Ramona started raising her voice and both her defense of her and the way she kept a level head just made it sort of click.

J = Jealousy (Are they the jealous type? What activates their jealousy?)

Jill is more of the jealous type than Vienna. If Jill sees someone chatting to Vienna and getting a little too cozy about it, she will physically insert herself into the conversation by stepping in just a little in front of Vienna and chatting their ear off until they make an excuse to leave. Most people don’t try to approach Vienna again after that.

K = Kempt (Are they clean, organized? Do they help one another with daily routines? Hair, makeup?)

They’re both pretty organized. Sometimes it’ll verge on organized chaos, but it works for them. They tend to take turns either making breakfast or coffee runs for each other in the morning. And Vienna loves to help with Jill's hair and makeup. She also loves when Jill uses her cheek to blot her lipstick.

L = Lush (Do they drink? What happens when one of them is drunk?)

They both drink socially, but neither tend to get too carried away. Vienna will occasionally go over her limit, but she’s a very clingy, lovey sort of drunk. Jill will get sick of her by the end of the night because she’s stuck to her like velcro, but she’ll take care of her until she’s able to sleep it off.

M = Meet (How did they meet? Was it cute or a complete disaster?)

It was somewhere in the middle of cute and disaster. Brad saw her accidentally get mixed up with customers at Zarin Fabrics and begged Jill to come see her in action. After that display and scooping up Ginger like it was no problem, Jill was impressed to say the least and hired her on the spot.

N = Nicknames (What pet names do they have for each other? Any unique ones?)

Jill will use almost any common pet name. Dear, honey/hon, baby, or "my love" (which she only tends to use when she wants Vienna to do something for her). Vienna mostly sticks with babe, but she’ll occasionally she’ll throw in some of the others that Jill uses for her. She’ll also jokingly address her as Miss Zarin when she’s being particularly bossy.

O = Outing (What was the best date they went on, or event they went to together?)

It started as a typical shopping date, which they’d had their share of by this point. But this one became something special. Jill dragged her into their third jewelry store in a row, and jewelry isn’t really Vienna's favorite thing to shop for, so she was getting a little tired of it. That is, until Jill let out this gasp and pointed out this beautiful diamond ring, and Vienna pieced together what Jill was up to. She was letting her know she was ready.

P = Proposal (Who proposes? How?)

Directly connected to the answer above, Vienna proposes. The day after that date, Vienna goes back and buys the ring for Jill. She holds onto it for a couple of weeks, long enough for Jill to think she didn’t get the hint, because Vienna still wants to surprise her. Ultimately she proposes in the middle of Bow Bridge in central park around twilight, with a photographer on the opposite side of the bridge ready to snap a picture of the moment, which becomes Jill's favorite picture of them.

Q = Quote (An important quote or something cute/meaningful one has said.)

Jill: "I know I tease, I poke fun, but you know it’s never from a bad place, right? I only do it because I love you."

Vienna: "I know. And you only get away with it because I love you."

R = Romance (Was it a whirlwind romance or more of a slow burn?)

It sort of falls in the middle. Jill enjoys teasing her about her crush in the beginning, as soon as she finds out about it, really. But it’s a long time before something real happens between them. And I’m also killing Bobby off during his cancer scare on the show (RIP Bobby, you’re actually one of the better RH husbands, but I mean, he’s gotta go somehow.) So, Jill's grief over losing him slows things down a bit.

S = Sex (What's their sex life like? Any kinks they enjoy together?)

Morning sex is pretty common with them. Usually by the end of the day, they’ve been so busy that they don’t have the energy for it at night, so only on their off days do they ever get the luxury of spending the evening in bed together. On some of those blessed relaxed evenings in, Jill's fond of luring Vienna into the bedroom by wearing her heels in the bedroom. Usually shoes are off at the door when they get home, so when Vienna hears the heels click against the hardwood, she knows she’s about to walk in and find Jill either in lingerie or completely naked aside from the shoes, and that’s basically all it takes for Vienna to be ready to fall into bed with her.

T = Together (Are they the kind of couple who are always together?)

Mostly, yes. If there’s a way for Jill to bring Vienna along to something with her, then she will use any excuse to have her there. But, they tend to run errands apart, and sometimes Jill stays longer at the office than Vienna does.

U = Unconventional (Is there anything unconventional about their relationship? Something unique to them?)

Oh, yes. Quite unconventional. Once Bobby gets to know Vienna a bit, and before the results come in from his test telling him about the cancer, he starts to get on board with Vienna seeing Jill. Like, they haven’t done anything, besides Jill teasing her a little (a lot), but Bobby can tell Vienna is basically in love with her already and he wants Jill to be taken care of if the worst should happen. Eventually, after the diagnosis he talks to Vienna about it, and then Jill. Things are a little awkward at first, but with Bobby's blessing, Jill does start to let Vienna in.

V = Vulnerability (What's it like when they show their softer side? How long does it take them to feel comfortable with one another?)

It takes Jill a while before she truly opens up to Vienna. She’s an over sharer, but not about anything deep, not until she’s established a sense of trust. And Vienna has to work up to being vulnerable to Jill, only because she’s absolutely terrified of baring her heart to her too quick and getting burned. But both of them can be real softies at heart.

W = Wedding (What would their wedding be like?)

Nothing overly fancy, believe it or not. Jill's been married twice before at this point, and Vienna doesn’t need a big hurrah. Her father buys her the gown of her dreams, and Jill, never one to be outdone, gets a special dress for the occasion as well. It ends up being a modern twist on a traditional jewish wedding ceremony, a fact that Vienna's father isn’t thrilled about (since her family is very strongly Italian catholic), but he goes along with because he just wants his daughter to be happy.

X = Xchange (In what ways do they share their lives? Sharing food? Wearing each other's clothes?)

They do tend to share food and drinks a lot, Jill sneaking a fry or two from Vienna's plate or asking to try whatever fruity little cocktail Vienna has ordered. And she’s just as chill when Vienna does the same with her.

Y = Yuck (How do they handle the other(s) getting sick?)

Jill will do anything to get Vienna feeling better as soon as possible, only partly because she’s scared of catching a cold herself. And if Jill so much as gets a sniffle, Vienna turns into a 24/7 nurse that Jill knows she can call for anytime.

Z = Zzz (How do they sleep? Are they cuddly? Can't sleep without the other(s)?)

Jill can be a pretty heavy sleeper, and Vienna will usually wake up with Jill's arm slung over her body somehow. They tend to fall asleep cuddling, though don’t often stay that way, and Vienna definitely sleeps better when Jill's in bed with her.

🙏In Seeds & Witches she is fulfilling a basic protagonist role - a playable character of my imaginary game. 🙏In Family Tree she is surviving The Collapse with John Seed instead of Joseph, they keep each other alive trough suffering, grow closer and become married for a while, until Salome's rebirth into The Judge. 🙏In Twisted Untitled she is lured into the cult by John, but eventually becomes a wife to Joseph. Both spouses however are unfaithful...

Dina "carrot" Sommer - young woman, a brainwashed cultist, a loyal and kindhearted "carrot" to Soldier's "sticks". Paired with Jacob Seed, is his biggest fan and his caretaker.

🥕In Seeds & Witches she is a fox witch, forever young she was a close friend and nanny of magical nature to Jacob, Joseph and later to John as well, though he doesn't remember her, because at the time he was just a baby. 🥕In Family Tree Dina is a devoted follower of Jacob specifically, survives the Collapse together with him, becomes his wife and by the end of The Winter they have a child - first of the four they are raising in New Eden. 🥕In Twisted Untitled she fulfills her basic role of Jacob's follower and caretaker.

Blissed Wisp - a long time friend of Joseph Seed, his angel and in some cases lover. A result of a prolonged scientific experiment with Technocyte virus (protoframe, heavily inspired by Warframe and Dark sector games) she is presented to people of Hope County as an actual angelic entity, who participates in quite a few cult activities.

✨In Seeds & Witches Wisp is John's long time friend, a forever young and seemingly immortal witch, who was pretending to be a ghost in the woods before John asked her to live with him and play the role of his aunt. ✨In Family Tree she only arrives at Hope County when it's time for Joseph to leave the bunker, and after she signals him to finally come outside to see the new world, Wisp becomes Eden's mystic protector.

Restless MindMina - young woman with a memory loss, messy military paper on her name full of blank spots, and deep yet unrealized feelings of fear and envy.

⌚️In Seeds & Witches she is a witch with time related abilities, a character who would basically act as a Save file manager in my imaginary game. ⌚️In Twisted Untitled she is a lost lamb that was easily lured into the cult by Joseph himself and trusted to John for he was supposed to teach her their faith. They become lovers first and then connect emotionally on their similarities. Though it is hardly possible to see them treating each other in a friendly manner, since both Mina and John are utter brats.

the oc that's currently on my mind--to be honest my thoughts are divided between totsuka and dimitri from completely different wips (mostly because ive been in a drawing mood and i rlly want to settle on a design for both of them)

Totsuka is, well, sort of a princess? She's the youngest child of a nobleman (he has one wife and *checks notes* seven consorts) in a fantasy world (her country is inspired by feudal japan) and her story is basically a mess but let's set that aside. She is a magic user and in my setting every user has an inertia--there are four (?) elements, and an experient magician shouldn't have much difficulty switching from one to another. The magic you use is based off the element your internal cycle is in, and if you don't actively choose one, it usually settles for one on its own (aka your default element, which we call the inertia)--and Totsuka's default is fire.

Her personality is mostly based off the Shounen Protagonist archetype! She's not very clever and is quite stubborn and hotheaded and would do anything to protect her friends. She values her own interests and dreams very high--and she also has the charisma to get people on her side. I'm sort of co-writing this one with my brother and he's a huge fan of everything shounen (like that One Piece anime) so a lot of the inspiration comes from there.

We're working on an adventure plot fighting against perhaps an evil empire and throwing some fantasy races here and there--it's not a very fleshed out wip but it'll come together eventually (and I'm not very concerned about that since im focusing on Meine currently) so my biggest frustration rn is her design! She used to have light blue hair (she's probably got some fae ancestors and they have colorful hair so she also does) but now since I decided her inertia is fire, I wanted to communicate that on her appearence so her hair is now a gradient of red and yellow (lemme doodle it real quick)

I have a notion of her face and hairstyle (subject to change) but her clothes??? I had a red puffy one a while ago but I don't think it suits her because it's way too warm and she travels the world so it'd get too hot and then I made a few other iterations but I also want her design to make lil references to the other protagonist (Olamina) but that's also tricky because *his* county is on subsaharian africa (or the equivalent in the setting) and their cultures are completely different so how would that even work

For the other character (from Meine! The wip im currently focusing in!), Dimitri, they were like recently conceptualized but her lore is suprisingly clear to my standards considering she's new. I was having trouble deciding his gender but then i decided to just well... leave it? I don't know their gender. They use all pronouns (she/it/they/he/neos...). She's also a child soldier/living weapon!

(There is one single image i want to base her appearence in but let's forget that one for now lol)

Dimitri starts the story off as a villain (yay!) because it was raised by the villain (a powerful and greedy CEO that wants to steal the powers of some of the main characters that get together in order to stop her) and it's all they've ever known. Later on, she's captured by the protagonists and after a few events (that part is obscure to me tho) he joins their side.

I also really, really like that accidentally I made a paralel between her and one of the mcs, Ceres. Ceres has the power of the Archive (she can copy and store people's powers for later use, with some limitations) and was also raised in an unconventional way. Back when she was around six, her mother gave her away to be the test subject of a project, and Dimitri was also abandoned and taken in by the villain. Dimitri's powers are also similar (the Copycat: he can copy/steal people's powers) and their backstories were just so close to being switched up. Ceres ended up in a pretty warm environment, because the leader of the project she's the subject of is a sweet guy that loves children, while Dimitri is, well, a child soldier. This is kind of late, but I have a ton of tags drafted and I'm slowly working through them when I find my motivation. Here's the response for my current WIP: A Tale of Frost and Flames (still a working title)

✨What was the first part of your wip that you created? ✨

It all started with a knight kneeling before his princess and promising to be her sword and to mow down any enemies that stand in her way. Now it has evolved far past just that.

✨If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?✨

Definitely a powerful instrumental intro with a touch of whimsy.

✨Who are your favorite characters you've made? Why?✨

Taliesin is certainly a favorite of mine because I wanted to create a strong morally grey character who is also a dragon. Although I'm attached to all of them, especially the ones I have yet to introduce. Rhidian because he's a himbo who just wants to be a good person and is stuck being the 3rd son of a king, so his job is to be married off to make an alliance. Despite this he wants to make his arranged marriage work.

✨What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?✨

Anything with a heavy romance element in an in-depth fantasy world. Other Media with political drama, faefolk, magic, and dragons.

✨What has been your biggest struggle with your wip? ✨

My biggest struggle has been with my pacing. Trying to find the right pace for plot points to unfold themselves. Just recently I decided that my pace was going too fast, so to slow it down I'm refocusing book one into more of a focus on where Eirallia is now/who she is rather than pushing her too quickly into evolving into the character that I imagine for her. I'm slowing it down to focus more on her character journey, but it's been a struggle to take a step back and to make that choice.

✨Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!✨

Regular animals so far. There's natural wildlife in the kingdoms. As for Melione...there are a lot of creatures in the wylds. Animalistic and not. There is another character that I have in mind (without a name yet), but she has a secondary form that's cat-like.

✨How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)✨

Horses and carriages in the human kingdoms, along with ships and other vessels. Melione is a special case where there is an abundance of magic. Some have wings and other gifts that can get them around quicker.

✨What part of your wip are you working on rn?✨

After some rough decisions, I split the draft that I had been working with into the beginning and end of book one. So right now, I am working on Eirallia's slow processing of grief while she is being overloaded with responsibilities that don't belong to her in a place where she knows that she isn't wanted.

✨What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?✨

It's my hope that my themes of adversity and overcoming will shine through and draw people in. Along with the progression of growth that all of my characters have to go through in order to find who they're meant to be when not being forced into a mold created by their parents and the society that they live in. There's a heavy theme of grief and trying to fit into a mold made for someone else. Basically, Eira's life is a mess. Her love life, her family life, everything is a mess. She's learning along the way how to be herself while processing big losses in her life.

✨ What are your hopes for your wip?✨

My hopes are pretty simple with this one: To be able to physically hold my wip in my hands.

I know its a bit away but I'm so excited for when Girl!Logan gets to F1!

Her and Yuki's friendship is going to cause such chaos!! He'd be so excited on of his F3 friends is on the grid! Constant hang outs and seen together at the track just talking and joking around! Yuki introducing her to Pierre and Charles, maybe Daniel too, while Nico glares at the flirty drivers. Fan forums would be so fun because Yuki gets Logan out of her shell a bit more than Alex in the beginning as they've known each other longer. OG!Logan didn't have many connections or friendships on the grid, so I can definitely see her getting slightly freaked by it but still happy. Then the media swoops, because the media loves rumors, and starts asking if they're dating! Poor Oscar nearly chokes on his water when he hears Logan get asked that question at one of the press conferences they're assigned to! Jealous Koala right there i bet.

Since one of OG Logan's greatest problems once he's an F1 driver was his lack of experience/being pulled up too early with basically a handful of laps in a real F1 car, will Girl!Logan attempt to fix?

First the not so juicy part: yes, one of the biggest points on Logan's list was fixing her lack of experience in f1 cars. Doing two years in F2 is important for her, which means securing enough funding unlike OG Logan. Also with Jenson on board, getting Logan sooner to Williams is a definite possibility.

Now to the fun part: oooooohhhh just thinking about the shenanigans of those two has me giggling 🤭 also I can absolutely see the media pushing the Yugan/Loki (? have to check later if there's already an official shipping name) narrative, because ofc they ship Logan with the only person in her friend group that never had any ulterior motives 😭😭😭

also i think we won't only have a jealous koala but a jealous kiwi too, bc i'm not letting up from liam being smitten as well to bring in a little ✨drama✨like imagine the four of them and whichever fifth unlucky person (in my mind it's Lewis to make it extra weird) being put in the same press conference for Suzuka because ofc. And somebody asks exactly that question because Yuki showed Logan and Liam around his hometown the week prior. And because Logan and Yuki two little shits, they pull the "we can neither confirm nor deny" with Liam and Oscar sitting there shooketh.

✨ - tsukasa is always the three's biggest supporters, comes to all vivid bad squad + leo/need's shows. each time 25ji releases a new song, he'll spam comment about how talented his sibling is and how great their music is. the other fans are.. puzzled, to say the least.

toya is glad, saki is a little embarrassed, kanade is flustered.

✨ - kanade suddenly has a lot more colorful clothes than she knows what to do with, courtesy of saki bringing them shopping.

✨ - she likes braiding kanade's hair :3c

✨ - since tsukasa is infamously stubborn for not caring for himself, kanade, toya and saki work together to make sure he's doing well.

✨ - tsukasa has to give at least one headpat to each of his siblings per day or he'll lose his big brother license™

✨ - tsukasa / kanade are simultaneously the sweetest people toya and saki know, but also the most infuriating.

always talking about how "the other is much nicer" and not taking care of themselves… they sure have their hands full dealing with those two huh

So anyway aside from Mario, I am also really into BATIM and when BATDR came out I lost my mind. Like 2017 me came crawling back from the depths of my mind and binge-watched Superhorrorbro Mike's gameplay when it came out. Distinctly remember having to pause at the biggest plot twist and just pace around my senior studio, rambling like a madman. (Little did I know someone was right outside the door, so whoever heard all that um no you didn't)

(From 9 Dec 2022) (Disclaimer: this is pure brainrot I guess but if you manage to read all this thanks so much! I get insecure about it, but I also really want to share my ramblings in the hopes of someone getting it so yeah)

Shut up I’m still thinking about Audrey, I have thoughts and questions like did she start out as a baby? How long did she even get to grow up with Joey before he died? If her story starts in 1973, and the first game was in 1963, and she has to be in like her early twenties, and Joey died in 1971, then what? That’s two years! Had she always known and just forgot when she entered the machine? Did he put her in an orphanage when she was little? And how did she even end up at Archgate? 

   Maybe she did get to grow up with her father and forgot when she entered the machine and she rediscovers the book with his notes, not understanding its true meaning. Nathan had promised to look after her, which is why she’s an animator at Archgate. She probably told him what happened to his son and after the damage the machine did, it hit the news and Gent got word and secretly took it away.

   Come to think of it, Allison works at Archgate, so maybe Audrey later realizes Allison Connor and Allison Pendle are the same.

   ALSO! Audrey didn’t recognize Henry, but she has the drawing he gave to Joey, so what? Does she put two and two together later on? Did she never get to meet the real him? Did Joey never talk about him? 

   THEORY TIME: There’s also the whole “uncle” thing. I feel like, bear with me here I promise, Audrey’s somehow connected to Henry. Think about it! She’s a talented animator and hard worker, literally employee of the month at Archgate. He originally created the toons and you know Joey basically took the credit. And the whole soul thing. You can’t separate the creation from the creator no matter what, and I think it’s parallel between Audrey with Joey and Bendy with Henry. Look at this weird family. Audrey’s soul was made, maybe from a piece of Joey’s soul, and a part of that was given to Bendy when they made it to the real world. 

   In “Dreams Come to Life”, Joey mentions how he shared his soul with Henry, so obviously the two were close, and whether they like it or not they influenced each other. What I’m getting at is that some of that artistic talent and creativity may have seeped into Audrey. If the Ink Machine is like a pen or canvas, and ink stains, then who's to say that in creating Audrey, parts of her are composed of the important people in Joey’s life: Allison and Henry? Writing it down kind of makes sense. Now, of course similar dialogue lines are probably just references to the first game, but what if?

As a treat for making it this far and while I have the confidence rn, here's some old-ish art technically from last year? I just like the potential between strained character relationships, the drama of it all ✨🤌.

Now, of course neither of the games are perfect and the storyline itself is kind of mixed up/confusing in some places, and this all may be a bunch of hogwash, but that's the beauty of fan work I guess, filling in the pieces and connecting dots like that one Charlie Day meme.

Once again I cast my lot into the digital sea of content like a note in a bottle, hoping to be uncorked and read by a stranger in the midst of multitudes, received not with scorn, but acceptance and understanding.
