Where is Elaine Park?

The search for Elaine Park, a 21-year-old girl from Glendale, California, is still on. She was last seen on the 28th of January 2017, shortly after 6 A.M. - she was leaving the house of her on-again, off-again boyfriend in Calabases, California. Her car was found 5 days later near Corral Canyon, on the Pacific coast highway. All of her belongings were inside - the missing girl, however, was nowhere to be found.

Elaine is a Korean-American woman, standing about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing around 125 pounds. She has long brown hair with blonde tips, brown eyes and a few tattoos on her body - a cow skull and moth on her upper left arm, rose on her left shoulder and a flower-adorned dagger on her lower right arm (click here to see the tattoos). Her make up is often described as heavy - she would almost always wear a winged eyeliner. Elaine was described as a very artistic person who was interested in music and acting - she played a few small roles in various TV shows, such as Desperate Housewives or E.R. Her parents got divorced - apparently, it was hard for Elaine and she struggled with bouts of depression.

The night before she disappeared, Elaine left with her on-again, off-again boyfriend - Divine “Div” Compere - in an Uber to see a movie. The surveillance video captures them returning home just after 1 A.M. (click here to see the surveillance video). When questioned about what happened later on, Div stated that at 4 A.M. Elaine all of the sudden got up shaking and singing, which looked like a panic attack to him. Then she supposedly changed and left the house. The surveillance footage shows her leaving - as her mother said though, Elaine didn’t look panicked at all. For some reason the video stops at 6:05 A.M.

On the 2nd of Febuary, Elaine’s car - charcoal gray 2015 Honda Civic - was found on the Pacific Coast Highway, just south of Corral Canyon Road (Malibu). The doors were unlocked and the keys were still in the ignition. Inside, police found Elaine’s belongings - a mobile phone, laptop, some cash and backpack. The vehicle was forsenically processed - according to police, no evidence of foul play or struggle was found. There have been multiple searches both in the cliffs of Malibu and the shore - bloodhounds, cadaver dogs and divers weren’t able to found any trace of Elaine.

This case stirs a lot of controversy. After Elaine went missing, Police questioned the Compere family - they were described as very cooperative. Div’s house haven’t been searched though, which may be find quite strange considering it was the last place Elaine was seen in. Another confusing thing is the time period shown in the surveillance footage. As written above, the video stops at 6:05 A.M., which is when Elaine’s car is leaving her boyfriend’s house. The next clip shows her leaving through the community gate at 7:14 A.M. - what happened during this time gap is not shown on the footage. Since it was very dark, it is also hard to tell if it was really Elaine who was driving the car at that moment. According to the police, there’s an explanation for the time gap in the footage - it may have been a technical issue concerning the authomatic time change. Another thing that can be find quite bizarre is an unidentified car that appears on the footage right before Elaine is seen leaving the property. Div’s house is placed in the dead end of a gated community, which makes a lot of people question what would an unknown car do there so early and how could it stay unidentified?

Currently, Elaine’s mother is working with a private investigator. He apparently has leads he’s following but prefers not to be specific. In opposition to the police though, he believes that foul play was involved in this case. He supposedly presented some pieces of information to the authorities but it was dismissed as theories and speculations that couldn’t be proven with any evidence.
