Eli, these past few months, had changed. A lot. You didn't know whether you liked it or not either. He wasn't even Eli anymore, he was Hawk.
He'd taken on karate, got a new haircut, and completely changed his demeanor and personality. You couldn't lie, he looked cool, especially while showing off his moves, but what wasn't cool was him getting into unnecessary drama.
You'd seen some things online, though you tend not to stick around for any of it. You were caught up by Eli himself, considering you did online school. The bullying from Sam LaRusso and her friends had gotten too bad long ago, forcing you to hide away for the rest of your high school career.
You considered this transition good for Eli, as he was turning a new page in his story. He was able to defend himself, he was confident, and he wasn't being bullied anymore. But, at the same time, he was unrecognizable.
It wasn't in a bad way, not yet, at least. But this "Hawk" guy, wasn't your boyfriend, Eli. You fell into the arms of Eli Moskowitz, not Hawk.
Thankfully, he knew how to retain his relationship. Thank God his standards didn't raise, nor did his ego, as he changed.
You were slightly sensitive, you'd say, kind of emotional, mentally thin, maybe.
You had a bad day, though. That's all that mattered in this second.
You were trying to deep clean your room because it was nasty, and you were already mad. Nothing was working how you wanted it to. Your grades were dropping because you were becoming depressed and unmotivated, and you just wanted to see your boyfriend again. But of course, he'd been busy with karate and working out.
You yell out of pure frustration as you throw a pillow across the room toward your door before crashing onto your bed.
"Ow"
You quickly look up to see Eli standing in your doorway, having been hit by that pillow.
"Fuck, sorry" You mumble, proceeding to hide your face in another pillow that lays on your bed.
He slowly and cautiously steps in your room, picking up the thrown cushion. "What's wrong?"
"...Bad day"
He frowns, "What's wrong?"
You look up at him, spiky hair immediately catching your attention. "Can you wash out the gel before talking to me? You're intimidating looking like a badass"
He chuckles with a nod, "Yeah, I'll be right back"
You couldn't stand the mohawk. It intimidated you, like you were gonna be the next victim of his karate moves. He understood as you'd been honest about it long ago, and would often wash out his hair in the sink and use a towel to then dry his hair.
Now, his roots were dark brown, while the midsection to ends were bright blue. You'd helped him dye it, the reasoning why the bathroom sink was just barely stained with blue in the bowl.
He re-enters the room, his hair now damp, but un-styled. He sits on the bed beside you, allowing you to sit in silence with a pillow pressed against your face.
You slowly pull it away, looking up at him. You flop your back onto your mattress, staring at the ceiling.
"What's up?" He asks, his eyes gazing upon your tired and stressed expression.
You shrug, sitting up. "I hate online school, I have essentially no friends or hobbies, my proctors are shoving thirty assignments on me while I'm depressed and I need to do a million fucking other things-"
He quickly pulls you into a hug, silencing you. You accept his hug, arms draped around his shoulders as you rest your head on one of his shoulders. He does the same for you, his arms slung around your torso instead.
You groan, hiding your face from the light.
He lightly rubs your back, just trying to show you some comfort.
He speaks up after a solid minute of silence, letting you calm yourself down. "Do you want to get into karate? Or at least meet my friends? A lot of them would really like to meet you"
You shrug, unsure.
"It's okay if you don't want to"
You shrug again, your words mumbled from between his shoulder. "What if they don't like me cause I'm not like them?"
He smiles, a light chuckle escaping his lips. "Trust me, they're not gonna make fun of you or not like you in any way unless you give them a reason. And that in itself is pretty much impossible"
You nod, "Thanks"
"Is there any way I can help with your school stuff? What needs done? What can I do for you?"
"Calm down, Eli. I'll be fine. It's just when there's a lot on my mind, I stress out for no reason I guess. Like, I know everything'll be okay but... I dunno" You shrug, pulling away from his arms. "But thank you"
He nods, laying down on the bed beside you. "You tired? I am"
You nod with a smile, pulling him close to cuddle with him.
"Agh- your grip is insane!"
"Sorry"

I love the loss the writers gave Miguel! I'm gleeful about it.
Robby got a clean win against Miguel, coming back from 2-0. It was such a great upset, in sports terms. imo This win does prove that Robby is the better fighter between the two of them.
Miguel stakes his claim as an All-Valley Champion based on a dirty win against Robby. Miguel actually had to worsen Robby's injured arm between rounds in order to get that win because Robby had tied the match 2-2 with that injury.
Miguel assaulted Robby and forced him into the fight at school, in which Robby had to defend himself from a psycho who tackled him, choked him, tripped him from behind a pillar, kicked him into a balcony railing on purpose, taunted him about his loved ones not wanting him, and was going to break his arm for no reason at all, just because Robby was trying to save his own girlfriend who Miguel had kissed while she was drunk and so Miguel's girlfriend had gone on the warpath. Sure, Miguel "won"... a bully's win.
Miguel "won" the apartment fight that was straight up child abuse on Robby by Johnny. Freaking heartless pos Johnny stood over Robby, and he had to posture and accept that fight once Miguel, his bully who was proudly trained by Johnny, said that he wanted to fight. Then, the asshole bully gaslighted him after "winning" the fight, which the bully won because Robby had stopped fighting back. Miguel claimed that he didn't learn karate to hurt people. Then, what the freaking hell did Miguel just do? He just purposely used his karate to hurt Robby like he has wanted to since s1, before he would even consider being Robby's "friend". He also gaslit Robby about Robby's fight response at the end of his assault on Robby at school. ugh...
These were not clean wins!
If this match for captaincy is the capstone to the rivalry, which I don't think it is, I'm still all for it. Miguel, the narcissistic bully, deserved this hard loss. People can deny it all they want but, compared to the other kids, Miguel does have narcissistic traits. He's entitled, self-serving, lacks remorse, lacks empathy, lacks self-awareness, doesn't take accountability, frames himself as the "good guy", gaslights, is proud to achieve grandeur at others' expense, etc. I was so proud of Robby for calling out that Miguel framed him as the "bad guy" in his college essay. Miguel also later tried to manipulate Robby into believing that Miguel deserves to win captaincy. Kudos to Robby for regaining some of his strength and basically saying, "Fuck you, Miguel!" You go, kiddo! You deserve the world, way more than this crazy kid does.
Man, this win was so good! Robby got the clean win in the only fair fight between him and Miguel. And Robby deserved it! ❤️

Definitely wish we got to see Tory and Daniel interact more because if Tory should fight anyone to get her anger out it is definitely Daniel They definitely parallel each other a lot and I really wish they talked more without the whole Daniel being biased thing” when literally Johnny had to go to Mike make sure Devon got picked who is really mature because I really don’t think it’s Johnny with the whole standing on counter in Daniel dealership
and I’m so happy that Amanda called him out yes yes I know she “voice of reason” but I hated so much that she let Johnny get away with so many things and didn’t listen to Daniel and I know “the karate war is stuipd” but if anything it never was Daniel fault ever and he had so much trust issues and he knew that Terry would come back one day and was trying stop it from before it began and he was so right because it did happen and Daniel went through so much hell in s5 and terry knew how to make himself seem like “oh yeah I’m a rich old man i could never hurt anyone”and I hate the “daniel was the real bully” it is so stuipd that she never yelled or anything at Johnny for what he put Daniel in Kk1 and god damn because I know that if Mr Miyagi was alive he would definitely made sure that Daniel went through the hell that he went through and I love that Jessica was there and chozen to help Daniel and Jessica clear up to Amanda about what Terry did and chozen for always being Daniel side and I adore him for that because he really needed that person that always ready to defend Mr Miyagi legendary and defend him and I know he felt so much joy because of chozen and he could relax and he didn’t have to be stressed
im sorry but if anyone understands Tory it is definitely Daniel
Yes Johnny might have lost his mother but he was a adult by then
And Daniel lost his dad as a kid he was probably like 5 or 8 or something and he saw his dad die infront of his eyes
And Daniel grew up poor just like Tory
And the parallel of the bloody knuckles
And I hate the take “Johnny and Tory are so similar Johnny understands Tory” no he doesn’t he really doesn’t he is projecting onto a child
And I hate I hate so much that people think that Daniel is worng for stopping that fight because if anything he was totally in the right because he definitely know what it like to lose a parent at a young age and fight with anger but he knows not to let it control him
And I really really wish that they would definitely talked more about the bloody knuckle or losing a parent at young age or growing up poor
And I need a young Daniel backstory talking about his dad death because god damn maybe those “Johnny glazer” fan will realize that Johnny isn’t the only one with a sad backstory which i totally believe they threw in the last minute in cobra Kai to make him sympathetic but whatever
And I hate that they made chozen leave because they that chozen would kicked Johnny ass for what he said about mr Miyagi and I really hope he finds out what Johnny said in part 2 because I want Johnny to get beat up by chozen I mean what 👀
#tory nichols#daniel larusso#cobra kai season 3#i really wish they interacted more#cobra kai season 6#ck negative#johnny lawrence#Terry silver#Daniel larusso they could never make me hate you#danzen for the win#we stan Jessica for clearing up what Terry did to Daniel#jessica andrews#my pottery queen you will always be my favorite

heey I was wondering if you could do headcanons about how cobra kai characters (with Miguel plss 🥺) would react if their darling would be hurt in a school fight and/or bullied?
Thank you so much have a great day <33
BULLIES | Miguel Diaz
Headcanons of Miguel Diaz's reaction to his s/o getting bullied
Note : mentions of cobra Kai, Miguel's accident, bullying, violence(not too graphic), Johnny being soft towards y/n, Miguel's family trauma
This man over here is way calmer than you'd think, instead of immediately getting aggressive he'd try to stop the people bullying you by telling them to leave you alone. But if they refused and even mocked him trying to stop them, he'd get extremely mad.
Especially if they're cobra kais
So he'd tell them to fuck off with a sarcastic smile but the moment they try to put their hands on him, they're dead. He's already striking them and just beating them up, he wouldn't go easy on them at all even yelling at them that they shouldn't have messed with you.
Miguel is very protective when it comes to his loved ones and he doesn't take kindly to other disrespecting them, but he's specially protective of those who don't know how to defend themselves or can't at the moment(whether they're injured or outnumbered)
So in the case that you don't do karate he'd get even angrier towards your agressors and he'd beat them so hard that they wouldn't mess with you ever again, which you'd appreciate a lot and give him lots of love since you've never had anyone defend you.
But Miguel promised himself from the moment he met you that he'd protect you forever, even if you weren't dating cause his mom and his Yaya have had a hard life and he felt the need to fill the role of protector, now it's not just a role exclusive to family anymore.
If Miguel has a soft spot for you then so does his family and Johnny too now(also Robby), the older man too felt helpless and weak when he was younger so when the brunette told him about what happened he yelled at him that he better have protected you.
Johnny told him to bring you to train in his dojo so you could protect yourself too, if you decided to join they'd both be happy and the blonde man would be a bit softer which you wouldn't realise until the other members and the Miyagi Do's tell you.
I mean you're his step son's s/o and he's met you before and really liked you for Miguel, so he might be a bit biased but no one can blame him, you're really nice, respectful but not a teacher's pet, and you like the same music he does so..
You're pretty cool to him
And if you don't end up joining the dojo he'd still be really protective of you but he wouldn't have to, since he really did a number on the assholes who tried messing with you so the people at school know you're off limits. Also, you've basically done nothing wrong so the cobras have nothing against you.
Some even have a soft spot for you, like Tory who really likes how loyal you've always been to Miguel (before and after the accident), and Kenny who you defended from Anthony before he had started training. So those two always tell their teammates to not anything to you, saying you're cool.

Hey so i got another yoosung centric ome shot request
Can i have a oke shot fic where yoosung gets physically bullied by his classmates but he usually tries to hide it from mc until one day he comes back really badly beaten up and this drives mc so mad that she decides to avenge him and she successfully does so since she is very physically strong and has a black belt in karate.
It wasn't that bad.
That's what he tried to tell himself when he came home to your shared apartment with a swollen cheek. It couldn't be that bad, he repeated. It would heal within a couple of days and he wouldn't have to think about it. Nobody had ever laid their hands on him before in school, he never had to think about learning how to defend himself.
Zen mentioned how many times he had to do that growing up, but Yoosung never thought he would fall into a similar position. Zen had tough luck on the streets after he ran away from home, and people harassed him because he was a kid without people to protect him! It wasn't like Yoosung had anyone to protect him from bullies if one had decided to target him, but his family cared about him.
They would've put a stop to it if it started. That's what he told himself when he was a kid. But, for some reason, now that he was attending college and taking care of himself, someone decided to target him for no reason. He tried to reason with them, to make them listen, but he couldn't stop them from towering over him. He lost that fight before it started and no amount of shouting helped him.
He just never thought you would tenderly press a bag of frozen peas to his face and tell him you would take care of it. He wasn't sure what you meant by that. Your eyes made him believe that you wanted to go to his college and tell the security to look at what happened from the cameras, but... you sounded more serious than someone who made a split second decision to leave.
He was too tired to argue with you. He didn't want you to put yourself in danger, he was your hero, but you adamantly told him that you had every right to be his hero, too. You were partners, and that meant you protected each other instead of letting one people take all the blame or trouble under their wing.
It was a while before you came back, but when you did, you had a triumphant look on your face as you washed your hands and came to join him on the couch. You settled against the edge of the couch and smiled when he draped his head against your lap. You replaced one of his hands with yours so he could rest as you replaced his peas.
"What did you do, [Y/N]?"
"I took care of it," you said.
Yoosung eyed you suspiciously.
"Listen, I didn't fight them if that's what you're thinking. I told them they needed to hand themselves over the security team because our favorite hacker Seven found evidence of their attack, and when that tall guy tried to argue with me, I flipped him on his butt for trying to harass me, too. That taught him a lesson," you explained.
Oh.
You didn't...
"Yoosungie, you don't have to beat someone up to win a fight. I'm trained to defend my loved ones, and if someone tries to hurt me first, then I'm allowed to defend myself. You don't have to throw yourself into danger to protect people, either. Seven watched me the entire time, and I knew I was safe to defend you, you know, the way you've always defended me."
He sighed and nuzzled his face against your chest. He was working hard at trying to overcome that fear of not being "man" enough. He knew his value wasn't less because he "couldn't win a fight" and he wasn't "weak" just because you wanted to defend him. The idea of you putting yourself in danger scared him... but he knew you were capable.
You could defend yourself, but you still asked for help just to make sure he wouldn't be afraid.
"You're not mad I leapt without thinking, are you?"
"Of course not," he muttered. "I just wish I could've watched you lay that guy out."
You beamed, smile spreading cheek to cheek as you plucked your phone out of your phone. "That's another good thing about being friends with Seven, honeypaws. We can watch that as many times as you want."

Age 20
Currently resides in Naha, Okinawa.
Opens up the family’s Ryuku Karate Dojo.

"Yeah, but you can't quit!"
"I got yelled at, got my ass kicked, and then gave him my money! You know who lives like that? Hookers."
"Yeah, but he's not that bad a guy! You gotta give him a chance. You don't know him like I do."
"...that's hooker talk."
***
Hey so remember when I said the winner of the GOAT Miguetri Moment poll would get a thing???
WELL I AM A WOMAN OF MY WORD DAMMIT
I realized I've never actually made these two a friendship moodboard and that!!! Will not stand, dammit!!!
Anyways their S1 dynamic was/is so important to me. Cute lil idealist Miguel truly believing Johnny Lawrence can solve all problems and cynical defeatist Demetri who has the only brain cell and is like "hey, this dude shat on my other best friend for something he can't help, embarrassed me for trying to defend him, AND I had to pay him??? At least I don't gotta cash out to Kyler." Dude's got a point, honestly. I'd get hazed out of Cobra Kai SO fast, and my parents would be like "thank god, those lessons were expensive" XD Demetri bby never let anyone shame you for making financially smart decisions that are also good for your mental health!!!
And the subtext of Demetri kinda trying to look out for Miguel and steer him away from idolizing this disaster man who peaked in high school??? Like I think I mentioned this on a previous post, but the way he tries to give Miguel the wake-up call Demetri thinks he needs and encourages him not to bend over backwards for people who (at least from what Demetri's seen!) don't treat him or people in general very well is kind of adorable. Like of course Demetri's being cheeky and smug and sarcastic about it, but he's basically saying that Miguel deserves better than Johnny and should respect/value himself a little more!
And Miguel, my beautiful hopeful babygirl Miguel Diaz <3 <3 <3 Like he believes in Demetri's potential long after Demetri's clearly given up on himself??? And tbh I've never read this scene as Miguel being annoyed Demetri trusts Miguel to protect him from bullies (like that's what you do for your friends lmao. And Miguel would in a heartbeat if he needed to because he's a loyal mf!!!). If anything, he seems worried about what Demetri's gonna do when he's not around and can't scare Kyler off and frustrated that Demetri's just dismissing his own potential that fast. Miguel clearly has 0 issue looking out for Demetri when the cards are down, considering how he talked to Johnny about Kreese punching him and readily sided with him after the Arm Break Incident.
Also something I've already mentioned in other posts, I'm sure, but the fact that a) Demetri completely trusts Miguel to protect him from bullies and implies he would do so with no hesitation and b) they're close enough friends after a few months max that they can comfortably walk with their arms brushing and casually give each other little affectionate platonic touches (most notably this little shoulder slap thing they do) is the cutest fucking thing on earth. This friendship is so slept on. Like every time I think about them I wanna cry because they're so fucking ride or die and they've easily had the most wholesome, loyal, and unproblematic friendship in the entire show and WHY aren't more people talking about them??? Any disagreements they have really ARE in the vein of "ugh you're so wrong never talk to me again for 10 minutes but then I have karate gossip I wanna tell you." I love them so much.
THEY ARE BESTIES YOUR HONOR
An argument could also be made that these two have a closer and healthier friendship than Miguel & Eli ever did and I ain't kicking that hornet's nest today but perhaps I will someday :3
"Wanna be my best friend and then judge me" also just. PERFECTLY captures their friendship XD SO much mutual judgment going on in this scene and I am LIVING for it.
Went for a red, blue, green, and white-ish color scheme for this to match their clothes and the bg! Hopefully it came out okay.
As always, pic credits available upon request!

Sorry if you're annoyed with the Green Ranger Jason David Frank posts. It's hot me pretty hard.
I have been suicidal in my life.
But JDF was such a positive pro-fan humble but confident dude. Dead at 49. From suicide.
It's left me with a deep cut in.my soul. I'm wondering if someone like him with positivity, success, family, a form of faith, love, his children, love from all over - could kill himself, then what chance do I have to live into old age??
Who he was, that wasn't an act. He's so positive and uplifting. So it's hard to think he died the way he did.
Suicide for me is just a hibernating giant. If he couldn't see a way out to live, then how will I ever??
So I'm deeply hurt. I mean even as a 12-13 year old. I had stopped watching the show, but i was being mercilessly bullied. I mean utterly tortured. I'm talking a Turkish prison here. Nobody to confide in. Noisy to back me up or defend me. No friends willing to step in. There was groups around me. It was practically coordinated. If a few were in my classes, they'd make sure I had some kind of a harassment or attack.
In desperation I found my Green Ranger Karate VHS. and I practiced. Nite so much for a fight, because could fight just fine, but against a group or 3 groups? I practiced you focus and "Imagine" that "training" was to fight these assholes. Like a group of putties on the show.
About 10 years later I followed JDFs social medias. He was such a good role model. I don't care about private matters as much. But what he did for people, his castmates, his daughter, the fans. I mean during covid he was touring comic shops to help them keep their doors open. Masks and all!
So I'm just devastated. Because I feel like he was a long distance mentor. Someone who had a great life ethic. His positivity was infectious. And I even had planned to meet him at some point.
This tragic dark ending is just crushing for me.
So you'll have endure my indulgences in Power Ranger reblogs.

On Death's Doorstep (pt 21/?)
[<<First],,,,[<Prev],[Next>] [ODD Masterlist]
Word count: 1716
Rating: Teen
Pairing: Anxceit
Warnings: past bullying homophobia cheating and domestic abuse, anxiety, suggestive language
~~~START~~~
Virgil wasn’t sure how to feel about… well, anything really. Orin’s death, his and Patton’s current living situation, the fact that Roman and Remus repeatedly referred to him as their little brother despite the fact that Virgil was older than them…
What Virgil wouldn’t give to be living in precedented times.
But at the moment, his specific predicament was the fact that he was about seventy percent sure he was going on a date tonight. With Janus.
He liked Janus in general. When he was a superhero, he was always a little excited when he was called up to thwart Serpentine’s schemes — consequently, Orin had had a particularly intense grudge against the villainous illusionist — and since coming to live with the villains, Virgil found himself feeling almost content when Janus stopped in. He just wasn’t sure if he liked Janus.
And if he did like Janus, then there was every possibility that Janus would just be the latest addition to the Virgil’s-Shitty-Taste-In-Men list. His first big crush in middle school had been a homophobe, who’d stuffed Virgil into a garbage can every day after he’d realized he’d had a crush on him (until papa had enrolled Virgil in a karate class so he’d know how to defend himself without having to use his blossoming powers); then there was his high school boyfriend, who’d cheated on him with the closeted basketball captain for over six months; and finally there was Orin, who’d ruined Virgil’s life so badly he still wasn’t sure there’d really be any recovering from it. So yeah, Virgil didn’t have a great track record going for him.
On the other hand, if Janus’s only bad trait was that they were a supervillain, then they would easily be the best person he’d ever dated.
If this was a date, which there was a thirty percent chance that it wasn’t.
“Daddy?” Virgil looked down to find his five-year-old — five! He was already five! Where had the years gone? — hugging onto his legs and staring up at him.
“Yeah, buddy?” He asked, hoisting Patton onto his hip.
“Why’re you nervous?”
Virgil’s expression softened and he leaned his forehead against Patton’s. “I’m just being a little silly, kiddo. While you’re hanging out with Roman and Remus tonight, I’m going to hang out with Janus, and I’m just a little anxious about it.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m not sure what we’ll be doing,” Virgil answered.
“I’m not sure what me and uncle Roman and auntie Remus will be doing,” Patton replied with a frown. “Should I be nervous?”
Virgil laughed, stuffing the part of his brain that panicked at the phrase ‘uncle Roman and auntie Remus’ back into the corner of his mind to be dissected again at a later time. “No, Pat, I don’t think you need to be nervous at all. You’re gonna have so much fun with Roman and Remus.”
“Oh,” Patton said, brightening up considerably. “Then why are you nervous? Aren’t you going to have fun with M. Janus?”
Well when you put it like that.
“You’re right,” Virgil agreed, somewhat stunned at his son’s debate skills. “Janus and I are going to have fun tonight.”
“Then you don’t need to be nervous!” Patton cheered, completely proud of himself for figuring out a solution. Virgil was too fond of his smile to explain anxiety disorders to him.
The knock on the door a moment later came as a huge relief.
“Uncle Roman!” Patton screamed happily, wiggling to be let down. “Auntie Remus!”
“Ah, young princeling!” Roman greeted as Patton flung the door open. “Are you ready for the best sleepover of your life!”
“Yes!” Patton yelled as Roman scooped him into the air, completely ignoring the fact that he’d never had any sleepover before.
“Is that what you’re wearing?” Remus asked Virgil, letting themself in
Virgil glanced down at his outfit — black skinny jeans and an oversized blue sweatshirt for a college he hadn’t gone to — uncertainly. It wasn’t like he had a whole lot of clothing options; most of his stuff was just what Janus or one of the others gave him.
“What’s wrong with this?” He demanded defensively.
“It’s not a very good outfit to get lai–” Roman elbowed her hard in the side “–ered in.”
“I’m not trying to get layered,” Virgil hissed, his face heating up uncomfortably.
“Clearly,” Remus snorted.
“Okay!” Roman interjected loudly. “We should get going now. Don’t worry, Vee, you look great! We’ll make sure Patty eats plenty of fruits and veggies before we jack him up on sugar, and we’ll bring him back tomorrow morning. Around ten, just so that there’s plenty of time in case you and Janus decide to have a sleepover as well.”
“Roman!”
“Have fun, Vee-Vee!” Remus grinned, steering Roman, and therefore Patton, back out the door. Just before they’d closed it all the way, however, a duplicate sprung out and darted past Virgil to the bedroom. “Just one more thing though!”
They emerged a moment later holding a purple V-neck sweater aloft triumphantly.
“Wear this on your date.”
“Okay, one,” Virgil listed impatiently. “It’s not a date. Two, I’m not trying to get laid. Three, this sweater’s a little tight on me.
Remus laughed. “It is a date. You’re going on a date. With Janny. So write that down. And B, it’s supposed to be a little tight! Trust me, even if you don’t want to get laid, you still want Janny-Jan-Jan to take one look at you and wish they were getting laid tonight. Just think about it, Virgin, you’ll thank me later!”
She cackled as she shoved the sweater at Virgil before darting out of the apartment.
“I’m not–!” Virgil called after her uselessly. “I have a kid!”
But she was already gone, and Virgil was left alone with only the sweater and a lot to think about.
By the time Janus knocked on the door an hour later, Virgil was dressed in the purple sweater and about eighty-five percent certain it was a date — jury was still out on whether or not he wanted it to be a date though.
Janus stood on the other side of the door with a bouquet of purple and yellow roses in their hand and their usual smirk on their face. For just the quickest second when they caught sight of Virgil’s sweater, their jaw dropped and their eyes popped out of their head, but they quickly schooled their features and shoved the flowers into Virgil’s hands.
“These are for you,” they informed him as Virgil carefully took the bundle. “You look stunning.”
The only consolation Virgil had as his cheeks heated up was that Janus had stopped using their illusion powers to distort their face, so he could see how their cheeks were tinged pink as well. He was definitely going to need to find a way to thank Remus for the fashion advice later.
“Uh, thanks,” he muttered, half trying to hide behind the roses. “So do you.”
And they really did. Their yellow button up was tailored perfectly to their body, and leaving the top few buttons undone both showed off both the lines of their neck, as well as offering the slightest tease of a tattoo hidden behind the rest of the fabric.
“Yes, well, Roman was rather adamant that I wear this top tonight — he said it brought out my eyes or something,” Janus rolled their eyes, trying to move past their own embarrassment.
Virgil nodded — he could see it; the gold shirt highlighted the gold flecks in Janus’s eyes.
“Yeah, Remus made me wear this too,” he admitted. “I should find a vase for these… if there even are any vases in here…”
Virgil turned towards the kitchen doubtfully. He’d never noticed a vase before, but he’d never had any use for one either.
“I think there’s one…” Janus trailed off as they made their way to the sink. They opened the cabinet beneath the sink and reached into the back. “Here.”
They pulled out a large, squared-based vase and placed it on the counter.
“Thanks,” Virgil murmured as he placed the flowers in the vase and filled it partway with water. “So, uh, what do you want to do tonight?”
Janus’s smirk returned and they reached for Virgil’s hand. “Follow me.”
Virgil followed them until they tried to drag him across the threshold of the apartment and into the stairwell.
“Are you sure–?”
“I checked with Franky, he’s allowing you to go up to the roof tonight — I might have implied that Patton would also be there, but he’s been so distracted lately, and what Franky doesn’t know won’t hurt him.”
“Okay.” Virgil braced himself as he crossed the threshold, but no alarm sounded, and he allowed Janus to continue leading him up to the roof.
Stepping onto the roof was not like Virgil had thought it would be. Next to the garden, a pergola covered in fairy lights had been set up, and underneath that sat a small table perfectly set for two.
“Oh,” Virgil whispered, stunned.
“I hope it’s alright,” Janus said, talking to cover their nerves. “Since you’re not allowed to leave the building, there weren’t a whole lot of options. I was just going to set up a rooftop picnic, but the twins insisted on helping me set all this up, and–”
They cut themself off when they noticed tears running down Virgil’s face.
“Darling,” Janus said softly, gently wiping the tears from his face with one hand. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Just,” Virgil shook his head, resting one hand over Janus’s on his cheek. “No one’s ever done anything like this for me before.”
“Ah,” Janus said, stepping closer and bringing their freehand up to cup Virgil’s other cheek. “Well, I intend to romance you correctly — if you’ll allow me to, that is.”
“Yeah,” Virgil flushed, his eyes darting down to Janus’s lips before he forced himself to look back up into their eyes. “Sounds good to me.”
Janus’s lips curled up into a smirk that was very much reminiscent of their supervillain smirk. “Excellent.”
Virgil wasn’t sure which one of them had moved to close the gap between them, but he was one hundred percent certain that A, this was a date, and B, he very much wanted it to be.
~~~END~~~
I sure hope the progression of this relationship has made sense, I figure that 20 chapters 30k+ words and like 10 months (in fic time) is enough that it’s a proper slow-burn, but I’m just not sure that I built up to it as smoothly as I could have, especially with a five-ish month gap between when we last saw them and this chapter (idk maybe I did, I don’t have a natural sense for romantic relationships for obvious reasons)
Idk, I think it’s good, that’s all that really matters
(And hopefully I described V and Jan as wearing properly attractive clothing, cuz I don’t have a natural sense of attractiveness either)
Anyway I hope you enjoyed this little reprieve cuz I plan of fucking everything up in the next chapter 😈 (it’s time for The Thing™)

FAVE PARTS OF JJK-S2 EPISODE 10:
I love this opening so much. Creative and accurate to how old computers start up.
The smooth transition between these two images was so good. From old and grainy footage to the smooth and clear "reality". Also the water animation was amazing!
My two faves working together for the first and last time. They would have been gremlins together. Yuji the movie dork and Kokichi the mecha dork.
They COULD HAVE BEEN MENACES TOGETHER! Talking about comic books and movies and animes and video games with Todo trying to get them into idols!
WE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL!!!
This is an automatic fave. Why would it not? It's pretty iconic. But MAPPA really went EXTRA for this as usual.
Words of wisdom from Mahito. Something to think about more because I can't believe I forgot this detail that jujutsu/sorcery may be bending reality to a sorcere's will as well. After all, the way Gojo's ability works is "bring Infinity" into reality - he acknowledges that technically "infinity" isn't real but his powers make it so anyway.
So, logically, the world of JJK functions the same ways as ours in terms of physics but sorcerers can play around it with their CTs. 🤔
Very creative delivery of exposition by MAPPA as usual
Sad but true and it's fucking awful.
The only reason why curse users would go all out is because they know Gojo isn't there anymore. This also applies to You-Know-Who as well. I swear the only reason he did what he did recently in the manga is because the ultimate threat to his You-Know-What is finally eliminated thru cheating with the CT he stole.
The fact that Kokichi acknowledges that he did wrong, expressed regrets, and worked hard to redeem himself is why he is one of my faves. I'd defend his bad choices! And he is much better than Sugu-!
I find Gojo's overwhelming faith disturbing. It's sweet but disturbing nonetheless.
My two faves being happy together because they can retrieve Gojo. 😭
BEST SCENE EVER! 10 OUT OF 10!
NANAMIIIIIIIN!!!!!
NA-NA-MIN! NA-NA-MIN! NAna-NAna-NA-NA-MIN!
I don't know. It just stood out to me so much how as soon as Gojo was mentioned, Panda suddenly looked worried.
Gorgeous Nanami drawing! 😍
Two faves sharing braincells. As much as I rag on Mahito, I still love (and hate) him so much.
Two faves still sharing braincells bullying old man Jogo. Poor Jogo. ALSO! Gorgeous drawing of Choso of course!
The love they have for Geto...
Classic Karate-chop by Fushigiro
KITTY! GASP! MEOWY?!!!!!! MEOWY IS THAT YOU?!!!!!!!
MEOWY STRETCH!!!!
I approve Ino. Give the loaf kitty attention!
KITTY!!!
MAPPA. Fuck you for this one.
One last pic of the ultimate gremlin!
LMAO!!! Btw, this refers to Gojo! They're ragging on Gojo because he has gorgeous legs - long long lean legs! Ahahahaha

Robby and the Miyagi Fangs
This post focuses on the s2 Miyagi-Dos in general, then on Demetri, and on Miguel and Hawk. I'll make separate posts later about Robby and Sam and about Miguel's rivalry with Robby.
s2 Miyagi-Dos
Robby defending s2 Miyagi-Dos
s2 Miyagi-Dos defending Robby
???????????????????????
In s2, Robby had always protected the Miyagi-Dos, but after the school fight, they abandoned him when he needed them most. For a dojo that's all about defending others and the "right/better way", they didn't defend him or have his back even though he'd always had theirs. They went along with everyone else, thinking the worst of him and supporting his attacker over him to prove themselves the "good guys", and they never reached out to him or gave him support (except for only Sam emailing him a few times. Her last email being "If you're okay, please answer." When he didn't answer, I guess she got her answer... He wasn't okay...).
After joining Cobra Kai, he hadn't done anything to them, but they still deemed him a "traitor".
In this moment, using only words, he was still just defending someone like he had once defended them, and this time Nate had been one of the bullies. Although Robby had allied himself with their attackers, they'd allied themselves with Robby's attackers (Miguel and Hawk). The Miyagi-Dos being upset with Robby was hypocritical. Regardless, he hadn't been part of the house attack. Robby also didn't instigate anything with the Miyagi-Dos in this moment at the drive-in or at any point throughout his time in Cobra Kai. (And Robby teaching the Cobras Miyagi-Do for the tournament was no different than Daniel teaching the Eagle Fangs Miyagi-Do for the tournament. Robby wasn't wrong to want to make sure everyone knows both styles. "It doesn't matter which way you fight as long as it works." Miyagi-Do teaches doing karate your own way.)
Miyagi-Do had been Robby's home. He just couldn't stay there in s3 or go back there in s4 because he needed space from the people there who have hurt him and don't acknowledge his feelings or his side of the story. The Miyagi-Dos judged Robby for being with people who had hurt them, even though some of the Miyagi Fangs had hurt him too.
After Robby returned to Miyagi-Do in s5, he's shown barely interacting with the s2 Miyagi-Dos, but again, they're not good or loyal "friends". Robby only seemed to spend time with Miguel and Hawk, to be accepted by them, and with Anthony, who was probably the safest person for Robby to be around. Other than Sam, the only s2 Miyagi-Do that spoke to Robby was Demetri, and Demetri was pretty disappointing.
Demetri since the school fight
I didn't get Demetri's attitude towards Robby when he returned to Miyagi-Do. Demetri acted like Robby was going to cause problems for all of them, although Robby was the reason that Daniel had even decided to come back and be their sensei again. Not to mention, Demetri knows that Miguel and Hawk had been the ones to start their rivalries with Robby by physically attacking him (multiple times) for petty reasons.
In s2, Robby always protected Demetri and the Miyagi-Dos, even protecting Demetri from Hawk. In the school fight, Robby had been attacked by Miguel, while Robby had been protecting Sam, and antagonized by Miguel to his limit. Robby fighting back was no different than the rest of them fighting back to protect themselves that day. In s4, Robby never attacked or did anything to the Miyagi-Dos. Robby got payback on Hawk for bullying Kenny, but didn't Demetri, Sam, and them get payback on Hawk for bullying them in s3? (The other Cobras got payback on Hawk for his betrayal.) At the drive-in, of course Sam, Demetri, and them all assumed that Hawk had been the innocent one who couldn't possibly (/s) have done something wrong, like bully the new younger kid in Cobra Kai along with Bert and Nate bullying that kid. Not saying that any of their actions were alright, but Sam, Demetri, and all of them have a double standard when it comes to Robby and so easily assume the worst of him, whether it's wrt to the school fight or after.
Also, Robby had never done anything bad to Demetri, but Demetri called him an asshole and compared him to Hawk.
Hawk had turned on Demetri over Cobra Kai, tried to gang assault him over a yelp review (but was saved by Robby), chased and attacked him in the school brawl, bullied him and his friends, and eventually broke his arm. All Hawk did was randomly stop attacking Demetri, apologize to him, and then help him fight off the Cobras in the house fight that Hawk himself had helped lead against Demetri and his friends in the first place, and Demetri was just suddenly okay with him. Sure, eventually in s4, Hawk did join and help the Miyagi-Dos win the boys championship because Demetri had asked him to, but still... Robby had never done anything to hurt Demetri or any of the s2 Miyagi-Dos, and Robby's actions against Miguel and Hawk had been defensive ones and Miguel's injury had been an accident, not that Demetri and them had ever cared to understand this. Demetri acting like Robby was the one who was a problem or the one who betrayed them in the first place or couldn't be trusted was disappointing. Demetri was being an asshole when he called Robby an asshole. He's not loyal to Robby, but expects Robby to be loyal to him. Demetri isn't a good friend at all, to anyone other than Hawk and maybe Miguel.
Robby had accepted Demetri in s2, had been kind to him while others are generally just annoyed with him or bully him, and had protected him more than once from Hawk. Demetri has never acknowledged what Robby had done for him. And just because Demetri believes that Robby can't have issues with Hawk doesn't mean that Robby can't have issues with Hawk.
The way Robby's expression changes after Demetri cuts him off, compares him to Hawk, and brushes off what Robby's saying.
Demetri became yet another person in s5 who didn't let Robby express himself or care about the wrongs done against him or about his side of things.
Miguel and Hawk
Then, there's these two, who act like they're the deciders of who can belong in Miyagi Fang in s5. They acted like they had the right to even question Robby being there, even though Robby had returned for Daniel. Not to mention, Robby had been the one to help Daniel reopen Miyagi-Do in the first place. Miyagi-Do was Robby's home first, not theirs. In s5, Hawk and Miguel had kept insulting Robby and acting like he's always been the bad guy, even though they were the ones who had started their rivalries with him. Because of the school fight and the mohawk incident, they act like they have always been right in their hatred towards him. In the waterpark scenes, they acted like it was their business whether or not he was still in Cobra Kai. Inside the water park, Robby had been protecting Kenny from Hawk once again. (Hawk can easily beat up Kenny, and they all know it.) In the parking lot, Miguel said to Robby that just because Robby came down to Mexico that doesn't mean he's now a "good guy" lmao, and that's after Miguel shoved Robby unprovoked. Miguel thinks that someone doing something that benefits him potentially makes that person a "good guy", but Miguel still has to approve of them in order for them to be a "good guy". Miguel also believes that he has the right to attack that person when he feels like it, but that person can't protect themself or someone they care about (Sam, Kenny) from Miguel or one of his friends (Tory, Hawk). Talk about being self-righteous and entitled.
smh... Miguel and Hawk have always acted like they were never assholes to Robby and like he's wrong for his reactions to their "non"-asshole behaviors.
Miguel - "We're not all assholes."
Hawk - "Oh, I'm an asshole?"
Sure, neither of them are assholes... 😒 (/s)
In s2, Miguel had the perfect opportunity to apologize to Robby when Miguel returned the medal, but he didn't and instead acted like he'd never been an asshole to Robby. In s5, Miguel was still picking fights with Robby, despite what had happened in the school fight. Miguel was still striking first against Robby unprovoked. Miguel had learned nothing from the school fight and was all for the apartment fight as well. Smh, he even had the nerve to ask Robby why Robby didn't hold back at the end of the school fight. Is he serious? Has Miguel zero conscience that he doesn't realize that everything he'd done to Robby in the school fight leading up to the lameass "I'm sorry" was wrong, and of course Robby would be rightfully angry and untrusting of him in the moment? Miguel assumes that, when he apologizes, his apology should be immediately accepted. Again, self-righteous and entitled. Hawk also could have just apologized to Robby in return when Robby apologized, but Hawk didn't either and instead acted like Robby had no right to be upset with him. Miguel and Hawk not apologizing is one thing, but them acting like they'd never done anything wrong to Robby and like he had no right or reason to be upset with them is worse.
Miguel and Hawk only became cool with Robby after he acknowledged and apologized for his faults towards them and after he changed himself to befriend them. Yet, neither acknowledged nor apologized for their faults towards Robby. Even in the scene in which Johnny recapped the two avts, neither Miguel nor Hawk acknowledged what they'd done in the s1 avt. Johnny mentioned in passing what Hawk had done, and Johnny pretended like Miguel hadn't done anything wrong at all. Hawk and Miguel could have spoken up, but neither took the opportunity to take accountability for their wrong actions towards Robby. Also, other than Hawk approaching Robby at the trials, it seemed that Robby always initiated conversations with Miguel and Hawk. In a way, they still didn't care much for Robby or his presence. Not surprising. Miguel only tolerated Robby now, after Johnny let Miguel hurt Robby like he's been wanting to since s1. And Hawk accepted Robby only because Miguel and Demetri told Hawk to accept him.
Overall, every resolution that led to Robby becoming "friends" with the Miyagi-Fangs was about Robby giving into their expectations of him acknowledging his wrongs and/or becoming agreeable to them and them not acknowledging or caring that they had wronged him as well. These friendships are all so fake. Robby seriously deserves and needs better people in his life.
Given how self-righteous all the Miyagi-Fangs behave, acting like they're the perfect "good guys" and not bullies or disloyal "friends" or assholes themselves, it's no wonder that Robby limited his interactions to just Anthony and to the two people he needed to befriend in order to stay accepted amongst them all. The fact that Robby had to fawn around the "good guys" (both the adults and the other kids) and act like he'd never been wronged by them just shows how bad being around them is for him. (Mitch is an idiot, but he betrayed the Miyagi-Fangs for a reason. The "good guys" aren't the better people that they believe they are.)
Robby needs new, real friends because none of the Miyagi Fangs are genuine or loyal friends to him anyway.

Chapter 1: Pilot
Summary: Elitist Academy is exactly what it sounds like: an academy that focuses on teaching students from elite classes of the magic community. When Y/N is thrown into the academy to learn alongside 8 men, she realises she’ll have to learn to work with them, whether she likes it or not.
Pairing: Reader x OT7 (Choose Your Own)
Genre: Magic School au, mystery, angst
Word Count: 2.5k
Warnings: domestic abuse, additional warnings might be added as story progresses
University sucked.
It hadn’t even started yet, but you could already tell what your fate at this new school would be. You stood in the front courtyard, staring at the building in front of you while its gleaming 24-karat gold gates blocked you from making the escape you so desperately desired. An enormous clocktower cast a shadow on your form, embellished to the tip with rich architecture and topped with a long, probably gold, spire. Even the grass you stood on was lush and cut to perfection, no blemish in sight.
You weren’t a fan.
Everything in your vicinity screamed of pride, yet you saw nothing to be proud of. Just the elite trying to flaunt their wealth in each other’s faces, desperate to be seen as the most affluent. You’d witnessed this game so much growing up, that the glittering golds and sparkling reds did nothing to faze you anymore.
What you truly wished for was to be anywhere but here, in this courtyard full of students you would have to learn alongside starting today. Coming to this school was no decision of your own and you hated being forced into things.
But… a part of you couldn’t help thinking that maybe this was better. You knew that ultimately it was your tragic mood that was dampening your outlook on this school and, although it wasn’t exactly the best place in the world for you, it was definitely better than what you had before. Maybe you should be grateful for being thrown here, a place that finally allowed you to get away from-
“Hah!”
Your thoughts came to a sudden halt as you heard the sound of a new commotion brewing amongst a small group of students. At first, you thought they were just noisily playing around, but once you took in the scene properly, you realised that you were wrong.
A group of about three students stood a few metres away from you, laughing altogether as they pointed at something on the ground. They all wore the same uniform as the one you were wearing, with a mixture of maroon, brown, and off-white topped off with a gold emblem in the shape of the academy’s logo pinned to their chest.
When your gaze dropped, you noticed a guy lying on the floor between them, his arms propping himself into a sitting position as his eyes stayed fixed on the floor. He was also in the academy’s uniform, with a light brown fringe that did a poor job of hiding a pair of bright purple eyes. The rest of his hair was covered by a maroon beanie, as if he were trying to hide as much of himself as possible. Aside from that, you could only make out the slope of his nose and plush lips.
You waited for the guy, who had clearly been pushed to the ground, to get back up and give them a piece of his mind. But instead he stayed put, with his head held low and gaze straying from the eyes of the group of three towering over him. His apparent shyness only made the students laugh more as they realised he probably wasn’t going to retaliate.
The sigh that escaped your lips was heavy. You’d think university-aged students would act a little more mature and not like high school bullies who shoved kids in lockers for fun. But then again, these kids were the children of the elite and wealthy. It’s not like they’d be getting taught any great lessons from their families…
You debated if you should step in and tell them off. The guy didn’t seem like he was going to start defending himself and the students clearly weren’t going to stop after realising that. Everyone else seemed engrossed in their own conversations as they waited for the first class’ bell to go off. Which left you as his only hope.
If you were being entirely honest with yourself, you didn’t want to. People like him deserved a little misery from time to time and, if he wasn't even going to stand up for himself, why should you?
But being a bystander would only make you as bad as them, and as annoyed as you were by the guy, you didn’t want to be a bully.
Reluctantly, you took a step towards them. The student closest to you was a girl, clearly a foreigner, with long blonde hair and light greyish-brown eyes. She stood a step behind a guy with dark brown hair, while another boy with lighter brown hair laughed alongside him.
You decided to confront the dark-haired guy.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
Despite your gaze, which had been focused on the guy, the girl stepped forward, directing her haughty eyes at you.
“Whatever I want? Who the hell are you?” She jabbed, as if you were some fly that needed to be swatted.
You couldn’t help but grimace. You didn’t want to start a fight with her considering it was clearly the guy that had pushed purple-eyes to the ground. But she seemed keen on being the one to answer, while the other two simply stared at both you and her in amusement.
Or at least the light-haired guy was staring at the drama in amusement. The dark-haired one was staring at you differently, with his eyebrows pulled together and his gaze scanning your face. You couldn’t understand why he was staring at you so intently, as if he was confused or trying to remember something.
But before you could ask him about it, the guy’s eyes suddenly widened as if something had just struck him. You watched him sputter in disbelief, and then distress.
“Wait… aren’t you…?”
He quickly turned towards the girl beside him, not even bothering to finish his sentence, “Hannah, we need to leave.”
“What?!” she screeched incredulously, “you’re going to let this stuck up brat tell us what to do?! You’re such a sorry excuse for a man, Jihoon!”
Despite the jab, Jihoon grabbed her arm, bowing towards you in the process.
“We are so sorry about this, please forgive us.”
He grabbed the other guy too and started dragging them both away, bickering relentlessly with a livid Hannah.
“What the hell, Jihoon?! What are you, a coward?!”
“Shut up! Do you know who she is?! She could ruin our lives, idiot!”
“She’s just another student! What the hell could she possibly do?!”
“No Hannah… she’s-”
You watched the three disappear into the crowds of students milling around while you listened to their voices dissolve into the unintelligible conversations swimming through the courtyard. That left you and purple-eyes, whose position still hadn’t changed one bit despite the threat’s disappearance.
“Did they hurt you anywhere?” You asked reluctantly, voice void of any real compassion.
Instead of answering, he wordlessly pushed himself off the floor, towering over you when he stood. His gaze stayed on the ground while his broad shoulders hunched slightly, as if he were trying to make himself smaller than he was. But even after a few seconds passed, his lips didn’t open. He simply continued to stare at the ground.
“Seriously?” You couldn’t help after a few beats of silence, “I just helped you and you’re not even going to say anything?”
You weren’t exactly expecting him to throw you a party and kiss the floor you walk on, you would hate to have that from him anyway, but not even a simple thank you? Was he really just going to stand there and ignore your presence?
Apparently so. He continued to stare at the ground, almost looking like he wanted it to swallow him whole.
You scoffed, mostly unsurprised by his lack of decency. Every day you were reminded that they were all the same, every last one of them. So were you really expecting him to be any different? You should have never involved yourself in the first place. Just standing here now was clearly a waste of your time.
So instead you turned on your heel and walked away, both grateful and annoyed when the sound of the bell rang across the courtyard.
He continued to stand in the same spot as he watched you leave angrily, guilt eating away at him with every step you took.
I’m sorry, he thought.
I’m so so sorry.

“Welcome to History of Magic 101. My name is Ms. Kari and I will be this year’s Professor.”
Ms. Kari continued to introduce herself to the class as you sat quietly in the lecture hall. She was dressed as professionally as a Professor would, with a knee-length black coat over a light grey knitted sweater, black dress pants, and black slip-on shoes. She let her blonde mid-length hair fall freely on her shoulders while her greyish-green eyes were framed by a pair of silver-wired glasses. It was clear she was a foreigner.
Of course you knew all foreigners weren’t related, but distantly you still wondered if she was related to Hannah.
The first day of classes were obviously filled with long and boring introductions, ones that you barely paid any interest to. So instead you let your gaze roam around the large hall, taking in the multiple students sitting alongside you curiously. There weren’t many, only around 20 from what you could guess.
As you continued to check out the students, you caught sight of the guy from earlier, his maroon beanie standing out in the sea of varying hair colours. The view of his face was enough to make your blood simmer once again, so you quickly turned to the other side of the class.
Unfortunately, that proved to be a worse decision as a more familiar face caught your attention.
Kim Namjoon.
You could recognise that dirty blonde hair, and even dirtier smirk, anywhere. His father was a good friend of your dad’s, so you were pretty well-acquainted at this point. The dude had the biggest god-complex you’d ever encountered and was an absolute sore to look at. Sure his face was half-decent, but the dirty blonde comb-over fade was like the cherry on top to his disaster of a personality.
He seemed to be paying attention to the lecture intently as he fervently scribbled down the Professor’s words into a thick notebook. You wanted to laugh at his concentration. Did he really think focusing on an introductory lecture was going to help him in any way? How stupid of him.
“So in that case, can I get two volunteers? Don’t be shy, it’s only for a fun activity. I promise,” you caught the Professor ask near the end of her introduction.
You weren’t surprised when you watched Namjoon’s arm raise instantly. He may have been an arrogant jerk, but he was also the biggest suckup you’d ever met. You were sure it was why your father loved him so much.
“Wonderful! Anyone else?” Professor Kari exclaimed, scanning the group of students.
As annoying as goody-two-shoes here was… the teacher would definitely appreciate active participation on the first day of school. And as conflicted as you were about this place, you still had to do well here.
So you raised your hand, earning a pleased smile from the Professor.
“I’m so glad to see such initiative in the first year,” she exclaimed, “alright, please make your way onto the podium and face each other.”
You and Namjoon did as you were told, standing in front of each other as the Professor walked back to her desk and opened the drawer. Namjoon’s calculating gaze fell on you as he faced you with pure confidence. You could even see a hint of a smirk playing on his lips.
“Hey Y/N,” he finally said in that conceited voice he always used, “it’s been a while.”
God was he annoying… But you smiled at the chance to destroy his ego.
The Professor walked back from her desk, placing a big red button between the two of you. It hovered in the air, as if there were an invisible table under it. No doubt the doings of some kind of magic.
“Now the activity is quite simple,” she explained, her eyes darting to the wall clock for a moment, “I will ask three simple questions related to the history of magic. Whoever presses the button first gets to answer the question and whoever answers two questions correctly gets extra credit. Is that understood?”
The two of you nodded eagerly as you felt the air fill with competitive tension. The rest of the students looked just as eager, focusing intently on the two of you as they wondered who of the pair would grab the winner’s title.
“First question,” the Professor began, “how many times has the magic community been discovered by non-magic users?”
A smirk tugged at your lips as you managed to smash the button first, loving the way Namjoon’s expression immediately morphed into frustration.
“In the past, the magic community has been discovered three times: once in 1782, then again in 1820, and then lastly in 1999. Each time, the magic community was able to purge the memories of the non-magic users to make sure the magic community remained a secret once again.”
The Professor's eyes lit up at your explanation, “that’s correct! I’m impressed that you know the dates as well!”
A small smirk played at your lips as you stared smugly at Namjoon, who simply rolled his eyes in response. Professor Kari, completely oblivious to your charades, continued.
“Moving onto the next question: when was the famous Tree of Life first discovered?” She asked.
Your hand moved rapidly, only to stall when Namjoon’s fist slammed onto the button before you could. It was his turn to smirk now, and he wasted no time in sending one your way.
“The Tree of Life is known to be an enormous source of magic and was discovered by Park Bogum in 1738.” he answered quickly. He didn’t need any confirmation as to whether he was right or not, he was already well aware of his accuracy.
“I must say, my expectations for this class have definitely risen because of the two of you. I wasn’t expecting such precise answers,” she said, a little surprised, “but with the class almost ending, we should probably move onto the last question.”
The last question… you had to get this one if you wanted to win against Namjoon because there was no way you were going to lose to this smug bastard. His face revealed equal determination to yours, though his may have been just slightly placated by his arrogance. You bet he didn’t even think he could lose, much less was going to.
Your classmates all leaned forward in their seats, eager to discover who would break the tie despite the fact that you barely even knew them. The tension had clearly thickened, and only one of you would be leaving this place with bragging rights.
“When was Elitist Academy created, and for what reason?”

It's funny you arguing that the script or the writing is anti-Johnny and Miguel. The two most spoiled and made-to-look-carismatic despite doing A LOT of dumb shit. Maybe it's the fact that they face consequences that makes you think the writing dislikes them, or maybe is because some of the fandom is learning to see them more critically. But this statement just doesn't make sense.
Your definition of Protagonist Morality explains perfectly why Johnny and Miguel are still not that much judged as you think.
Because you brought up way too many points, I'll focus on only some of them, or this will get even longer.
Danny is a hyper-judgmental asshole due to unresolved trauma from his youth and it's a problem.
First, this very same description could be used for Johnny. A worthless father who is still suffering because he lost a tournament in his youth and never grew up despite being an old ass man.
But Daniel is a victim of bullying reacting emotionally to seeing a real threat. He is not an asshole. When he saw Johnny at the dealership, he didn't react badly, he gave his old BULLY a jab, which no one can blame him for, but despite this jab he immediately offered to PAY for Johnny's repair. Which he didn't do to antagonize Johnny, he did out of camaraderie. Johnny was the immature child who rejected it because he was butt-hurt about losing a Karate Championship.
Because we get shown Johnny's pity-party life before this happens, everyone takes his side without paying attention to what is happening.
Daniel only snaps when he sees Cobra Kai is back, the same Cobra Kai that EVERY TIME that was brought back did serious damage. Why would it be different this time?
Cobra Kai
It's naive to believe just because CK changed teachers it would get better. It doesn't matter who the teacher is, the fundamentals on which this style is based are already toxic, you can't make it work, you can't make it good. "Strike First. l Strike Hard. No mercy", how could that be good at all? Thankfully the show proves this to us in the very first season. Doesn't matter how well intended Johnny was, the way of the fist will always create monsters, no matter who teaches it.
The problem is in the fundamentals.
Daniel not being willing to give his old BULLY a chance to see if he can use this violent philosophy well with his new dojo is being SENSIBLE.
Stop demonizing Daniel for being right about a VIOLENT philosophy that almost killed him and severely hurt him as a child repeatedly!
Sam
Now that we stablished Cobra Kai will always create monsters, Daniel teaching this to his daughter is good-parenting. I would also make sure my kids stay away from the thing that created the bullies from my youth.
Sam didn't believe what Daniel said about CK until Miguel began acting like a possessive asshole BY HIMSELF. He created the drama by not trusting her, by not giving her time to come clean, by making assumptions and by getting aggressive. But because he's the boy hero everyone is willing to only see the "rich bitch" as the evil one because she didn't bend to his every concern.
When it comes to her first scene with Tory, honestly, Sam was being jealous. Which among all the bullshit we see, it's the smallest of sins. But she isn't shown as the right one for being jealous.
Her behavior towards Tory is actually too good for someone who tried to maim her and broke into her house with a violent gang. Sam acts with too much grace, she should have forbidden her to get back to the same school, that girl broke too many bridges and did nothing to repair that damage besides being poor.
And I hate how we use economic class as an excuse to defend mainly Johnny and Tory after so much shit they've done.
I know it's hard to feel sympathy for rich people, but defending their violent attackers because they had sadder lives is just ridiculous.
And you can't say that the so-called writing of the show doesn't constantly use this pity to make characters like Tory likable despite acting unhinged for dumb reasons (a drunk kiss).
Daniel's protectiveness with Miyagi-Do style
We tend to forget that just because Mr. Miyagi isn't around anymore, it doesn't mean his style of Karate changed. His style is objectively the better one. It brings peace, balance, and healthy ways to deal with fear, aggression, and bullying.
Once again, Daniel's unwillingness to let his kid learn the Karate Style of his bully is logical. Johnny's style is based on his macho-man mentality of "the young people are weak you need to learn to be a MAN". We have been discussing toxic masculinity for years now and I'm baffled how people don't realize the way Johnny keeps perpetuating it. The style is also based on a toxic philosophy. WHY would Daniel or Sam want that?
Besides, Daniel's pride is justifiable. He had a great master and he feels the need to protect his master's teachings. He's right on doing so. The fact that he's a bit smug about it is because... I mean... Miyagi's style is fucking the best, it's not problematic, it works... Daniel smugness comes from being right. And after all that happened this man deserves to be smug about it.
Mr Miyagi deserves to have many people being smug about his teachings as a treat for being awesome.
Last but not least:
This show is bad at writing forgiveness and characters making amends. I agree Aisha and Sam's friendship deserved better. But so does Robby and Miguel's rivalry, Hawk being Satan, Johnny and Daniel, Tory and Sam etc etc
MiyagiDo Karate and Protagonist Morality
So when I watched the first two seasons this bothered me and then last weekend I watched everything else (thus far)... and this still bothered me. So here we are.
Spoilers for all five released seasons of Cobra Kai (although I'll mainly be talking about Demetri, Sam, Danny, and Hawk).
Before I get started...
As much as I'm criticizing the writing of these characters, I don't think the characters are bad, or hate the show. I just think more could be done with them, or in the case of Sam they could have started the ball rolling sooner and she could be a better character than she is.
Except Demetri, they really screwed the pooch on his writing.
Protagonist Morality
So I guess I should explain this term. Protagonist morality is where a show doesn't question the behavior of it's protagonists, assuming that whatever action they've taken is morally correct (for the setting). In a video game, you know all those unguarded chests full of stuff for you. The ones all across the countryside and in towns and often people's houses? The ones you can loot freely and nobody cares or is concerned with all the robbery you're doing?
That's protagonist morality. If the game labels you a thief and you get run out of public spaces for your actions, then the game is labeling your actions as maybe less than a paragon of virtue, and giving you reason to think about it. (Then you do it anyway because it's really nice loot.)
So what about the ACTUAL protagonists?
Johnny, Miguel, and Robby are questioned and judged by the narrative constantly. They generally do things right for them, but not universally seen as correct. And generally the narrative is about them moving forward and making less questionable calls.
The whole point of the start of S2 is that Johnny realizes "No Mercy" is a bad motto, because it just gets people hurt, and changes his teachings to match this bit of character growth. Characters backslide, Johnny and Robby both crash spectacularly at the start of Season 3. Each needs to dig themselves out of the hole their in all through Season 3 (Johnny) and 5 (Robby).
So the show never treats them as not needing growth, as the show is all about their growth.
Daniel
Danny is a hyper-judgmental asshole due to unresolved trauma from his youth and it's a problem. But also the show would be a lot less interesting if he worked through all of this in a timely fashion. Primarily the issue is his reaction to "Cobra Kai" just being back at all, and how he never once gets pushed to question if Cobra Kai in Johnny's hands changed.
Some of this is miscommunication, which is the cornerstone of the Unresolved sexual Karate Tension with Johnny. But his absolute refusal to see good in Cobra Kai had a direct hand in breaking up Sam and Miguel in Season 1 and Danny... came out of it believing he was right.
And when he goes out of his way to try and destroy the S1-2 era of Cobra Kai, the narrative never once actively punishes him for his prejudice. He's also never forced to face why he's like this. It's kind of shit but very much a plot lodestone.
Sam
Like her father, Sam often rushes to a moral judgement on bad info and never goes back. Even if she's wrong. So much of her Season 1 behavior is swept under a rug so that other characters (Kyler, Yaz, Miguel) can be her personal villain. And the worst being Season 2 with Tory.
Sam rushed to 'all Cobras are evil' while in a plot trying to fix her friendship with her best friend, she instigated things with Tory, and blamed Tory for all of it without having to think about why she's following her father so readily. Of course, with the end of Season 2 it didn't matter what her behavior was prior, she had every justification to treat Tory as her own personal satan.
Fortunately for me, and everyone else who likes Sam, most of the later seasons focus real hard on having her grow as a person. Maybe not facing all of her personal failings, but she does grow past them in respectable ways. And while her behavior toward Tory is... still bad, Tory is her personal anxiety attack she's allowed it now. (Unlike someone else.)
She also unpacks some of the prejudice she learned from her dad. Sneaking off behind his back to learn Eagle Fang and figure out before Father Dearest that balance is better than pigheaded arrogance of your own greatness. Leading to the Season 4 finale and her mixed styles.
Demetri Hawk
Before I rant about Demetri, I need to explain why Hawk's narrative, regardless of his failures, is better. Eli starts the show with a clearly defined failing (confidence and courage), focuses hard on overcoming it (through Cobra Kai Karate), and turns him into someone new.
That new person is a loud abrasive asshole, but it's a growth arc.
When Hawk behaves badly, it's treated as a start of darkness. As he grows to love having the power his weaker nerdy self lacked. His acts of vengeance make sense as the flexing of power he's never had before. To the point he becomes the sort of bully he feared. His reactions are all overreactions and that's good writing. You understand why he beats Kyler's flunky to a bloody pulp, it's cathartic but also framed as an act of pure violence and destruction. He needs to live in his anger, his violence, listening to the whispers Kreese offers.
Season 3 is Hawk struggling to choose between good and evil, and in the end he chooses good. Leading him on the path toward balance and being better than either side of him before. Honestly of every character in the show his path is the best defined.
Now Demetri
Demetri is a anxious pessimistic leech. He feels he'll fail before he starts, and therefore doesn't try. He rides the coattails of his friends as they become cool and popular and Hawk was right to call him out. But rather than investigate that, he becomes the target of Hawk's new villain arc, and rushes to the arms of MiyagoDo.
Where he proceeds to never actually face who he was, and just... get to be a cool martial artist with a hot girlfriend as the show sweeps his negative traits under a rug and never touches them.
The narrative never confronts how 'it's fine for me to reap the benefits of your hard work' (start of season 2) or 'I can humiliate my best friend by spilling all his secrets then hide behind my badass martial artist friends' (late season 2) were bad calls, because at the end of the season he just... gets to beat up Hawk to establish the full defeat of Johnny's Cobra Kai.
Directly into Season 3 where he's just as aggressive and antagonistic as Sam is, while neither is treated as being 'over the line' by the narrative. Which is all before Hawk breaks Demetri's arm, meaning he doesn't have the extant trauma reason Sam has.
By Season 5 Demetri is a pretty cool person, but as there's no actual focus on how he got there, it feels cheap. Which really sucks.
What I'd Write-
I don't want to rewrite the whole show, and that makes Danny hard to fix. As so much of him is that paranoia of Cobra Kai. Like- best I could ask for is him going to therapy and trying to work past it (and just being bad at it).
Sam the easy answer is Aisha not forgiving her (at least during S1-2). Where Sam tries to get Aisha back, but every time she either says something about Cobra Kai, or Miguel, or Tory and Aisha points out Sam hasn't given any of them a fair shot, and that Sam has no room to talk after dating Kyler and being Yaz's friend.
Bonus points if Sam also gets taken to task for her going after Tory when Tory was working. Because Amanda already got Tory fired once, but she felt bad about it.
Demetri has a similar route of 'best friend does not forget.' A simple 'why should I ever trust you again' after Moon's party would go a long way to rub Demetri's face in what he did, how he was as bad as everyone who made fun of Hawk's lip at school. How Demetri, for one brief moment, was worse than Kyler.
I want all the characters to either get the kind of care in how they change direction that Miguel has, and failing that being absolutely perfect like Devon (the only person to join Silver's Cobra Kai and not turn evil).
#obs: i have nothing against op#i just think his arguments doesn't make sense#stop larusso slander 2024#daniels the real bully is a meme that had its run.#lets grow past it

could u do a hawk one where his darling is demetri"s little sister who he's been obsessed with since they were kids?
Why not?
“𝐵𝓎 𝒹𝑒𝒶𝓉𝒽”
Yandere Hawk x Demetri's sister!darling: (EDITED)
Warnings: obsessive behaviours, possessive behaviours, unhealthy mindset, manipulation, toxic relationship, stalking, threatening, extreme violence, mentions of injuries, isolation, abuse
Eli had always been obsessed in love with (Y/N).
She was pretty and nice to him, despite his facial scar and shy demeanour.
(Y/N) wouldn't ignore him ever and would even go out of her way to talk to him if he was by himself.
She would do her best to defend him from bullies, not caring if that made the bullies garner hate for her.
His heart would swell every time she would do anything with him nearby, even if it was as small as her looking in his general direction.
As the years passed, his little crush turned into a raging obsession but he never acted on it (in his mind) because he was afraid that (Y/N) would be afraid of him if he did so.
Eli would "admire" her from afar while trying to build up the courage to ask her out.
He would send love letters that described everything about (Y/N) or little gifts with creepy endearing messages about how much he loved her.
(Y/N) was throughly disgusted by these messages, especially the sexually explicit ones but she would just burn them and throw out the gifts.
Eli never noticed when she did this and thought she had every one of his letters, in fact he saw her hugging a folded sheet of paper to her chest, which he assumed was his letter but would later figure out the truth.
When Eli finally thought he could do it, confess to her, let her know that he was the one who sent her those gifts and letters, someone else walked into the picture.
(Y/N) had started dating a guy in the football team, Stanley.
Stanley was a good guy, he was polite, smart and always treated (Y/N) with the utmost respect and care.
He had also sent her sweet, non-creepy, love letters but with his name attached so (Y/N) knew they were his.
Stanley. What a stupid name. Eli thought to himself but never said anything out loud since (Y/N) seemed so happy with Stanley.
In fact, (Y/N) had never looked happier, her smile was the brightest it's ever been which pissed of Eli because it was due to Stanley that she was smiling, not Eli.
Then Miguel came to the Valley and everything changed.
Eli began doing karate at Cobra Kai along side Miguel and turned into Hawk, a completely different guy compared to sweet and shy Eli.
But (Y/N) thought everything was fine! That Eli was just confident now! That was the only difference to her, not realizing how wrong she was.
Hawk threatened Stanley to break up with (Y/N) and stay away from her as much as possible.
Since Hawk was now known as one of the strongest and scariest guys in the Valley, he used his power to threaten Stanley to break up with (Y/N) and stay away from her as much as possible.
Stanley ignored Hawk's threats at first until he got jumped by Hawk, resulting in a black eye, a broken hand and nose as well as bruises all over his body.
Hawk gave him a final warning that if Stanley didn't break up with (Y/N) and stay away from her, Hawk would make sure that Stanley might not be breathing after the next time they meet.
Stanley decided that no matter how much he loved (Y/N) he wouldn't be ready to die by Hawk's hand to stay, so he broke up with her.
(Y/N)'s heart was shattered and she was sobbing in her room, feeling like shit, wondering what she did wrong to have Stanley break up with her.
Demetri attempted to cheer her up using things she loved like chocolate cake and old comics but nothing was working, so as a last resort, he called up Hawk to try and comfort her.
Hawk quietly entered (Y/N)'s room and put a hand on her shoulder.
She looked up at him with red puffy eyes and tear stains on her cheeks.
He sat down and opened up his arms, indirectly telling her that she could hug him.
"Eliiiii!!!" She sobbed as she grasped onto him.
"It's alright, I'm here. No one'll ever hurt you again." He told her as his eyes seemed to darken and a large smirk grew on his face.
As days passed, (Y/N) found herself more attached to Hawk than ever and he adored it.
Hawk would protect her against anyone who laid a hand on her, or flirted with her for that matter.
Once he thought he had manipulated her life enough and had become her protection system, he asked her out.
She agreed, too blinded by his gentle care to see the red flags that were clearly screaming at her.
Once they started dating, he would control what she wore so that “guys won’t try to flirt with what’s mine.”
He wouldn’t let her go out with friends unless he was there or he approved of them, individually so that if there was one person he didn't like there, (Y/N) would be able to go out.
Demetri noticed all of this almost immediately and tried pulling (Y/N) out of the relationship, telling her it wasn't good or deathly and sooner or later Hawk might begin hurting her, but she denied his claims of a toxic relationship or Hawk being a bad person.
But as time passed, Demetri was proven right.
Hawk became more aggressive, he would tightly grip (Y/N)’s wrists until they bruised as he yanked her away from people that he didn't approve of (practically everyone).
He began to hit her for even talking with someone from Miyagi-do, including her own brother!
Either that or he would beat the person over and over until someone, usually Miguel, would have to yank Hawk off of them.
When she wasn't able to even talk to her own brother anymore, that’s when (Y/N) realized he was right all along.
Hawk was toxic, he was abusive, he was psychotic but she was too blinded by her own love for him to see it.
(Y/N) tried to distance herself, to take small breaks from him but it always ended with someone getting hurt, whether it be one of her friends or herself.
It was broken noses, black eyes and fractured bones galore, so (Y/N) decided to try something else.
She publicly broke up with Hawk, yelling that he was a crazy abusive psychopath but that didn’t stop him.
He kept himself as close to her as possible by threatening everyone to stay away from her unless they wanted to end up in the hospital.
That's when it dawned on her, it was too late, she’d dug her own grave by dating Hawk.
She would never get away from him unless it was by death.

Random black phone head cannons
Ok so I just gotta explain, in my head canon they all didn’t die, they got kidnapped yes but the grabber kept them probably doing some fucked up shit that traumatized them and were able to escape in which they became a close knit group finding comfort with one another and end up moving with eachother. I ship them as a poly but this could also be platonic, whatever makes y’all comfortable!😊. Now ONTO THE THE HEAD CANNONS
Griffin still sleeps with a stuffed animal, his room is filled with stuffed nails from all sizes. His most favorite plushie is a Rolly poly plushie the boys got him for his birthday
Finney and bruce still practice baseball even though finney quit his team. he helps bruce practice because he knows how how much bruce wants to get into the big leagues
Finneys room is filled with galaxy posters small planets and rockets made out of cardboard hanging on his ceiling
Robin teaches the others taekwondo and karate to defend themselves. Bruce and vance pick it up easily, while finney griffin and billy struggle
Griffin does both ballet and gymnastic and whenever he has a show or competition the others make sure to come and watch
They also do the same for every game that Bruce has
Robin and vance spar with one another. They’d be outside practicing kicks, punches and blocking
Being the first three of the grabbers abductions vance, billy and griffin were inseparable after escaping is one was missing or they didn’t know where one was they’d freak out.
Griffin, being the first abduction went through so much and struggled the most once they were able to get out. It was so bad that the first few months if one of the boys grabbed him and he didn’t know who it was he would start to have a panic attack.
It got better but now the boys make sure to say something beforehand so griffin knows who it is.
They never leave robin and vance unsupervised, they just don’t if they do they’re either doing something illegal or kill themselves/someone.
Whenever Gwen comes to their house they let her do their nails and style their hair, they can’t say no.
Gwen, robin, and vance also have braid trains in that order.
They go to drive in moves every week using robins uncles truck.
They all take therapy after what happened with the grabber. Vance being the most stubborn and not really opening up while the rest work on their trauma.
Vance does get there eventually with the help of the others he opens up about his trauma from the time in the basement.
Billy was really insecure about the scar on his face, sometimes he’d look at the scar and start to uncontrollably sob it gets so bad that he wouldn’t notice the others trying to comfort him until he calmed down.
He now considers it a battle scar after the other reassured him how it makes him look strong.
Even though they all have their room they usually end up sleeping with each other in one bed.
It’d be robin and griffin in the very middle because they’re small then billy and finney and then Bruce and vance on the outside.
Finney and bruce are the main cooks of the kitchen they always make the best dishes for everyone.
Nobody lets vance be in the kitchen by himself he’s either burn the house down or make a dish that is utterly inedible.
If vance was very sure that he wanted to cook then have someone be with him usually Bruce or finney to help him because if not they would be eating burnt chicken.
Robin has a closet filled with bandanas it’s his most prized possession, he’ll know if someone took one of his bandanas.
Nobody bullies any of them for being gay or having a 6 way relationship because it has robin Arellano and vance hopper in it, saying or ridiculing the relationship the boys have is basically a death wish.
And nobody Bullies finney,bruce,griffin, or billy because of the same exact reason they their bfs are robin Arellano and vance hopper, if anybody did and those two found out they will double teamed.
Finney and bruce tutor the rest of the boys when they’re all struggling with school, they’d have a tutor session on the weekends if anybody needed help.
Vance is protective of all of the boys he just doesn’t admit to it to keep his bad boy act.
That’s pretty much it lol hope you guys liked these and I’m making more in the future😋
