getting very near the maximum amount of single-player completion of this game i'll be able to achieve....

continued notes from [the tags of] the last part re: character usage & activities:

1. this snake has exploded 1500 times. REALLY been hammering at the spb challenges with redz there; i've given thorough attempts to every stage now so there's not much left to mess with and he'll get overtaken by the true mains again eventually. as of posting, there are 33/152 spb medals i don't have. most of those aren't happening, but i'd like to at least get down to 30. 25 if i'm really reaching.

2/3. magician and mecha remain my all-purpose general mains, and the only guys i use in online play [save for when im doing a bit w/ people :p]. mecha will likely be overtaking magician soon because i'm no longer afraid of using him outside of 50cc and he's usually my more consistent character [yknow, as opposed to the "character who is the random button", who'd have guessed]. magician is still my favorite funny pick, but recently i've only been using her on days i dont feel like dealing with how unwieldy mecha's 9w ass is.

3. sliver made a pretty big leap in "matches played" as well, as i started using him in the spb challenges on tracks where i needed a much sharper turn/drift than redz' being a 7w allows. thankfully i've found that his excellent ring-boost stat [+my better understanding of how the spb works] does a lot to make up for the poorer drift-turbos. hes exploded 300 times.

4. cluckoid my fucking GOAT, back in the top 6 again because it's by far the character im actually best with; been using it to clear out grand prix on master difficulty [and get emeralds]. i truly had zero intention of getting all emeralds on master but i just kind of sat down to mess with it one evening and then immediately went on a streak of 8 consecutive gp's where i pulled an emerald. considering the 3 i'd had before that i was like. ok well theres no reason to not finish this out now.

6. and then shadow's still there. he's basically been retired. there's still a good number of time trial medals i want to go for, but ive learned a lot abt the game's mechanics since then and it turns out he's actually really suboptimal for how time trials work. cream the rabbit has been rising up in his stead, but it's doubtful there's enough left to do with her that she'll surpass him. my initial thought-to-be-outlandish goal was to hit 750 medals, but... well i did that already. i think the platinum medals don't actually count as part of the game's "784" medal total??? and are actually extra bonuses that count on top of/beyond that?? so now if i'm being really funny i'd like to go above the 784 ""total"" count but again that is PUSHING IT. we'll see though.

Militat Omnis Amans: The Beginnings by edaen - 92k words, fantasy, werewolf!jk, vampire!jm, forbidden love, super slow burn but super worth it, JIKOOK IN THIS IS MY FAVORITE JIKOOK IN ANY FIC EVER EVER EVER, this is the ultimate all or nothing will freeze hell over for the other kind of love, and the way this is written is just so... how do i describe it. like you can just tell the author wanted to be very realistic with their feelings. you’ve seen the word count, this is SLOW burn. like you will legit feel their struggle to just be able to love each other and while it hurts, it’s also SO GLORIOUS. i love this one so much and if you like reading angst with happy ending but like cranked up to 200% then read this. bonus feels if you read the whole series

Until Dawn (series) by edaen - this is the long series where the previous one above is part of. highly rec if you love fantasy and you wanna read about bts being a rag tag group of supernatural beings fighting evil yay. also it makes the above fic more satisfying because you see more of jikook just being tgt and in love (with bonus angst because of course)

right after his birthday he’s holding his first ever solo concerts, on july 16th & 17th, anyone who is close friends with jaewon is most definitely invited and he will be very happy if they can make it because he’s both very nervous but very proud of it

july and a part of august are filled with hurtlocker promotions and lipstick has a super super super busy festival season so if anyone finds themselves at one of those, odds are lipstick is there too

she doesn’t really care much for hurt locker but the reception is good and minah is very happy with that, she’s relieved to see lipstick still makes such a splash as a group

on top of all of that she’s preparing her own first full length album which she’s releasing on the heels of lipstick promotions, preparing for that is stressful, promoting for that is stressful but the album is super dear to her and she will be very proud that it’s out into the world

the bc concert also happens and honestly, she really likes their setlist (minus party) and she’s super excited to perform as lipgloss again, that’s been a while, she’ll be in a good mood there even if she is tired

filming the documentary will be a lot as minah is doing 50 things at once but at least she will be around the company building a Lot working on things

yena: 

gal.actic’s ten year anniversary happens and yena is just like... meh okay? honestly it’s kinda insane to her that gal.actic is still around and its not like she’s necessarily happy about the fact that they are

but hey it happens and gal.actic has some fanmeets which is a lil weird to yena, gal.actic doesn’t do a lot of concerts or fanmeets and it’s always a bit... odd for her to see how many fans they apparently have? 

at least the fanmeets ask very little performing on her part other than 5 songs (which tbh she all doesn’t want to perform with maybe the exception of a, also someone like u is kinda meh but she still doesn’t really care?)

for gal.actic related work the fanmeets will be kinda positive in yena’s book but don’t expect any overwhelming enthusiasm

the rest of the time she will go straaaaight back to complaining about the stupid festival performances, about the stupid comeback they’re preparing for, about stupid dimensions entertainment not just disbanding them already 

will be taking any excuses she can to sneak out of deepened choreo rehearsals, please enable her, or scold her, either one works

luckily her solo career isn’t exactly on a backburner either, she has some modeling going on, some photoshoots, some brand stuff, and if anyone asks how she’s doing or what she’s doing she’s more likely to bring those up than gal.actic

for the dimensions photoshoot the same applies as for jaewon, i’d love to use the opportunity to get her to interact with labelmates she hasn’t worked with at much, unlike jaewon tho she will actually be in a pretty good mood doing it, she loves photoshoots v much!

- While Ace was traveling with the crew to Alabasta him and Sanji just sort of Clicked, spending ridiculous amounts of their free time chatting together for people who just met. Since both their sleeping patterns are unusual, it wasn’t uncommon to find them in the kitchen at the crack of dawn giggling over tea, Ace insisting on helping prep breakfast

- Ace is 100% Sanjis first crush on a dude so he had some processing to go through that’s a different wormcan

- Sanji was nervous but Absolutely got his number before Ace had to leave, and hogs the phone c o n s t a n t l y

- Lucky for him Ace calls, while inconsistently, for hours whenever he manages to get the time. They love to swap stories about the dumb things they’ve gotten themselves into

- Ace sends a BUNCH of ingredients and little trinkets whenever the crew actually knows where they’re going. While he finds little things for all of them, Ace specifically looks for the weirdest sounding teas and ingredients he can grab for Sanji to try. Whenever the packages get in and they manage to line up the time, the crew will call up Ace to catch up and do little unwrapping parties���

- But once they’ve settled down and the kitchen gets quiet, Sanji takes the time to puzzle the ingredients together while they idly chat, and steep the tea. Ace keeps some of the blends for himself after the joke that if Sanji was going to willingly eat whatever poison Ace picked up off the streets of god knows where, Ace had to at least be decent enough to go down with him

- They drink together, Ace cackling at some of Sanji’s over the top criticisms while he gets onto Sanji for being unwilling to try the ones distilled from peppers— just enjoying their connection across thousands of miles

- Usopp and Nami are the worst teases about Sanjis not so secret crush, regularly bullying him about staring wistfully into the sunset every now and then. Nami particularly loves to hear him go on romantic tangents because 1) it gets him off her back 2) she thinks it’s genuinely adorable 3) has Lowkey been in touch with Ace too so could use it as blackmail at any moment

- (Luffy meanwhile did not pick up on it until Zoro made a jab about it)

Ideas come to me in dreams, otherwise if I'm watching a movie/TV, listening to music, or just seeing something during the day will spark something.

My phone buzzed in my hands and I look down to see Sofia's face smiling at me. I pause my music and pull my earbuds out. 

"The Kid's calling," I say aloud before answering. "Hey, Fi!" 

"Hey yourself, is Steve available? I've got history questions that I need help with and he's not answering his phone."

I roll my eyes but put the phone on speaker. "Steve, Fi needs help with her homework."

"What's up, kiddo?" Steve asks, keeping his eyes on the road. 

"Stupid history homework; about the Commandos and I thought, 'what better way to finish this then get it straight from the source, old man," Sofia says. Sam lets out a small laugh and Bucky shifts awkwardly beside me. 

"Alright, shoot," Steve says with a shake of his head. 

"Original 7 members? I only know 3 of them off hand," Sofia starts.

"Easy, Me, Buck, Dum Dum, Morita, Jones, Monty, and Frenchy," Steve says casually. There's a pause before Sofia's sigh echoes through the car. 

"I don't think my teacher would appreciate it if I put their names in as if we were best friends," Sofia says offhandedly.

Steve cleats his throat awkwardly. "Right. Uh, Steve Rogers, James Barnes, Timothy Dugan, Jim Morita, Gabriel Jones, James Montgomery Falsworth, and Jacques Dernier," Steve reiterates after Sofia's let's out little "uh huhs."

"Why were the Howling Commandos formed?" Sofia asks next. 

"To eliminate and wipe HYDRA bases off the map; although it seems we weren't very successful," Steve says with a frown and I see his eyes flash towards the rear view mirror, to look at Bucky, I'm assuming.

"Who did the Commandos capture during a raid in the Alps?" 

"Arnim Zola." 

There was a pause and I couldn't help but look over at Bucky who almost looked startled that he had spoken.

"Who was that?" Sofia asks a moment later. 

"Oh, uh, Sofia, that was Bucky," I say, my voice cracking at his name. Sofia stays quiet. I check my phone and see the phone was still connected. 

"Bucky?" Sofia asks, sounding doubtful.  "As in Stevie's Bucky?" 

I feel Bucky almost stiffen in surprise next to me. "Yeah, that would be him," I confirm. 

Sofia stays quiet for a few beats again before clearing her throat. "Right, well when do you think you guys are gonna be home? I hate all of this cooking I've gotta do now that you guys are gone, not that either of you were chef's," Sofia complains. 

"I'm not sure, kiddo," Steve chirps from in front of me. I lean my elbows onto the front seat and rest my head near his shoulder. "We've got something really important to take care of." 

"Okay, well stay safe, and don't do anything stupid; Sam, keep them in line," Sofia says with a laugh.

"Will do, Half Pint," Sam promises.

"Well, I'll talk to you guys later. And it was nice to meet you Bucky," she says. 

Bucky doesn't respond, but the rest of us say goodbye before I hang up. 

"Thanks, Steve," I say, clapping my hands over Steve's shoulders. 

"Anytime; I don't mind helping the kid out," Steve says. 

I ruffle Steve's hair before leaning back and laughing. Bucky was looking between Steve and I with confusion written all over his face.

"So the kid?" Bucky asks, his eyes resting on Steve for a moment before looking at me.

"Yeah, she's great," Steve says excitedly and flashes Bucky a smile. 

"She's my sister," I say and look down to see Sofia had texted me. 

I forgot to ask while on the phone but could you ask Steve if I can look through some of his stuff that the museum let him have back?

"Hey Steve, can she look through the stuff the Smithsonian gave back to you? She didn't say what for though," I ask. 

"Yeah, no problem, tell her I've got stuff in the chest at the end of the bed."

"Cool cool, thanks," I say and pass the information onto Sofia. 

"Not a problem," Steve says as he takes the off ramp and turns left. "Sharon's just up here," he points out a black car that was pulled over under the bridge. 

Steve pulls over and ducks out of the car and greets Sharon with a smile. 

Bucky sits up and looks out the front window, eyes flickering across the background, scanning the surrounding area. Bucky's knees hit the back of Sam's seat and he glares at the back of Sam's head. 

"Can you move your seat up?" He asks for probably the 100th time this trip, sounding bored.

"No," Sam replies once again. 

I roll my eyes and squish myself against the window. "Scoot over here more," I offer, pointing towards the leg room that I've got behind Steve's seat. 

"Thanks," Bucky mumbles and scoots over so his arm is pressed against mine. It was quiet while we watched Steve and Sharon talk as she popped her trunk. "So," Bucky starts quietly, trying to exclude Sam from the conversation. "How long have you and Steve been together?" 

Sam, of course, hears and snorts out a laugh, having to hold onto the door for support. 

I felt my face flush and I reach over the seat to smack Sam across the side of his head. "Shut up, bird brain. Steve and I aren't together though," I say, turning to look at Bucky who looked embarrassed. 

"Sorry, I just assumed…" Bucky apologizes. 

"Nah, it's okay, everyone apparently thinks the same thing," I say with a shrug. "Steve's like a brother to me. Plus right now he's not swinging this way."

Bucky's eyebrows shoot up as he looks at me with wide eyes. "So like, he's..?"

"Gay? Yeah, basically. He still likes women, but he's actually with my brother, Graham," I say, pulling up a picture of Graham, Steve, Sofia, and I on my phone. Tony insisted on us having more family pictures even though we were the least conventional family on the planet.

"So being… a homosexual," Bucky says, almost sounding like the term was weird coming off his tongue. "That's openly okay now? I don't mind, but the 30s really pressed people down, so I didn't think Steve… at least I think, from what I remember," Bucky trails off and looks out to see Steve giving Sharon a hug before grabbing the gear from the trunk. 

"He was hard on himself at first," I say, remembering how weird Steve would act whenever Graham would say something to try and test the waters. "I think knowing and befriending Graham really helped him a lot, seeing that it's not a mental illness, that you wouldn't be imprisoned or institutionalized for it."

Bucky still looks at Steve, but there was a small smile crooked at the corner of his mouth and his eyes seemed fond. 

"I'm happy for him," is all Bucky says in reply.  

"So am I," I say, patting Bucky's forearm with my hand. "So am I." 

11. How many stories have you written so far?

Well I've only ever completed 1, (excluding oneshots) but I've got... at leave 7 going, a few that I've discontinued, and a shit ton of ideas that haven't been written yet 😂

12. What's your favourite thing that you ever wrote?

Well I'm honestly so proud of my Beauty and the Beast Lashton fanfic that I wrote and the only one I've ever finished. But I'm also sooo proud of 2 WIPs that I'm writing with the lovely asker

13. How many chapters does your longest series have?

I dont have any series yet, but my longest fic has like 200,000 words and no distinctive chapters yet (writing specific scenes then gluing them together)

14. What's your favourite character/person to write for?

I only really write Lashton or Stucky but I'm my cowritten books I have an OC be with Ashton Irwin and Bucky Barnes because DAMN they are kweens

I personally like writing OCs but I've been getting into readers lately

16. Can you tell us anything about your current WIP?

I suppose, but asker already knows since she's helping me write it 😂 it's a Marvel fic about these two girls and their brother who lose their parents in the Battle of New York in 2012. Brother is working for Stark Industries already when Steve asks my OC to join the Avengers but my OC and her brother keep that a secret from their younger sister (my friends OC). That's enough for now tho 😘

Well the asker is such an amazing writer I love her work, um, @Larry_Lashton on Wattpad is good, @moonstruckbucky and @sunmoonandbucky are phenomenal

That's basically all I write; I've only got one original piece and not many are real to whatever reality.

Absolutely! I usually loosely plot out the whole thing and try and hit the main points but by like... 1/4 or 1/2 way through depending on how long it is I'm like fuck I totally forgot I was going to add that (and by then it wouldn't make sense to add it in)

Listen to music, but I also read what I've got to help myself get back into the flow of the story.

Like I said it was 8th grade and my english teacher showed me this new side of reading that I didnt know about and then I was like fuck I can do this too!

Well I used to only read the Twilight series, but then I read Cassandra Clare's books, and the it sorta branched out from there, so Stephanie Meyer and Cassandra Clare are who you should thank for that 😂

I think it's an amazing thing to write because people already have deep connections with the characters so you dont have to waste the first part telling their story (unless it's an AU, but even then it's totally okay to just jump right into it!)

I definitely enjoy leaving them on the edge of their seats, but I also love writing fluffy scenes that make peoples hearts flutter

zoinks i totally forgot the fact that i never actually made an Official Talk Tag post so hi hey hello!! i’m ap from EST and i have 900 assignments due on monday bUT instead of doing any of those i’ve been writing vir singh (dev patel fc), your local 29 yo speechwriting cynic

i’m almost finished his app but in the meantime here are some quick basics!

he’s a nyc baby who used to be pretty upper-middle class until his mom cheated on his dad and his dad wanted absolutely nothing to do with her after the divorce (including any child support money) so he lived in a pretty poor neighborhood in brooklyn for most of his teenage years

got a scholarship to yale (fuckin NERD) where he went for an english major and minored in russian literature (this has no significance and isn’t even included in his app i’d just like to think he’s read dr zhivago more times than any person should)

he HATES politics. literally didn’t plan to become a political speechwriter even a little bit, and if he had it his way he’d be on a balcony in copenhagen writing the next great american novel but writing doesn’t exactly pay his and his dad’s bills and he’s never actually finished any of the books he’s started so he’s been one of dc’s top speechwriters since grad school and won’t stop anytime soon

he’s constantly exhausted, generally annoyed, and essentially willing to do anything if you pay him enough (can i get a paaaaawn?). he’s also a staunch moderate that is generally socially liberal and fiscally conservative, but he flip-flops on a few issues. at the end of the day tho he’s very easily able to put his own beliefs aside and write a kickass speech about whatever topic/affiliation his boss demands of him

fucking loves literature. has read everything fitzgerald has ever written twice. DEEPLY infatuated with semi-colons and em dashes, and goes crazy when the little grammar details he puts into speeches aren’t given the care and respect they deserve

i am quite literally open to ANY connections (!!!) you can think of but main ones include:

his boss: the person who speaks the words vir pens. could be someone from either political party (vir has no strict ethics about his political ties) and would be someone that vir is FIERCELY loyal to because they’re the person who’s ensured that vir’s had the money he needs to support both him and his dad for years now

roommate: okay listen rooming in dc is EXPENSIVE and vir’s got student loans he’s still paying off so he’d def be sharing an apartment with at least one other person. they could either like each other/be great roomies or be absolutely terrible at sharing a living space (vir goes to bed at absurd times and is TERRIBLE at forgetting to turn down his music, apologies in advance)

partner-in-crime: any and all besties are welcome. whether it’s just someone he gets a drink with (ranging from coffee to vodka) after work or someone who’s been good to vir ever since he moved to dc, he def needs some buddies to vent to

friends-with-benefits/romantic interest: he’s Bisexual with a capital B and def needs the stress relief w/ how much bullshit he puts up with throughout the day, so this would open to p much anyone. i dont think a signif other would be totally out of the question either, especially if they’ve got moneeeeey bc vir is lowkey (read: highkey) looking to marry rich

the pay-off: vir’s trying to support both him and his dad atm and while his job pays well enough for him to get by he’s def somebody that’s willing to do anything if you wave enough money in front of him. could be smthg more lowkey or smthg more sketchy, but i’d def love to see a kind of player/pawn relationship play out here

ok ok so nicolas has two dads stephen and jack who were high school sweethearts and are together for a very long time. back in high school they had a little group of three, the two and a girl alice who was their best friend and later on served as a surrogate for the two. nic has alice as a aunt, he grew up around her and has absolutely no idea that she gave birth to him but he loooooves her very much. she also has a child who nic has a sibling (wanted connection!!!!) and they all live close and live like a big family.

jack has dated alice back in high school when he wasn’t out but he’s definitely in love, in fact nic doesn’t even know what’s like to have a messed up family. he has never once seen his dads fight and if their marriage came to and end he wouldn’t even know how to take it. it’s all a perfect family as far as he knows, a spoiled one.

stephen is a well known lawyer, he takes a lot of the most important people in town as clients and his name is famous for all the cases he won, while jack is university professor + a writer, which provided them enough but still pushed nicolas to provide for himself by finding a job as soon as he was allowed.

when they nic was around 10 jack got a job in new york, manhattan so they all had to leave colorado and only moved back five years ago when jack decided the busy city was too much for him and he missed home.

just because his dads are good people and lovely and well known for their careers, it does not mean that nic wasn’t bullied for having gay dads, he was beat up and all that which was why he started to do boxing to defend himself and continues to do it at college

he’s a little paranoid, obsessed with zodiac sign, wants to do everyone’s astral map. and he’s a gemini so lots of mood swinGS

is allergic to everything, peanuts, shellfish, lactose intolerant, so he watches what he eats a lot. he’s also an athlete so that works out on his favor.

works as a florist downtown, absolutely loves it!!

nic doesn’t take most things seriously and it’s a problem. he’s very irresponsible despite his dads having such serious jobs, definitely a jokester. he literally does not care about anything THAT much. he lives life impulsively, lives in the moment and does what feels right so if it gets him in trouble then he’ll deal with that later but he’ll do that happily knowing that he did what was best for him before. of course what’s usually best for him isn’t best for the people around him, but then again, he doesn’t take things very seriously.

he’s definitely not a bad friend though, he just doesn’t think of a lot of people to be his friends. he’s very social and can be quite nice depending on the person, but the ones he actually respects, cares for and trusts are very few.

can be very affectionate to everyone and INCREDIBLY flirty/sexual. he’s trash so he will most likely try to get in your pants, i promise he’ll be nice about it tho.

loves to do stupid shit but doesn’t get drunk too often, he likes to have control over himself

hurts himself a lot, has bruises all over the place because of the stupid choices he makes, his dads aren’t aware of half of the things he has done and he wants it to continue that way. he’s definitely one guy at his parents house and a different one when he’s away

in high school he used to be very popular. you know one of those typically groups who sits together always and doesn’t let anybody in? those were his friends and himself, not a jock and not the nerds, most likely the people in leather jackets who thinks they are the coolest ever. loves to play basketball though, he almost made it a career for himself but decided he liked arts better at the last minute. he has a pretty normal life for someone of his age, just wants to live life to the fullest.

personality wise, he tries not to be a dickhead but his sense of humor sometimes can be interpreted a different way. very sarcastic and witty, he’s fun and adventurous and absolutely batshit crazy. he won’t say no to nothing, if you want to do something crazy you can ask him and he’ll go with you fOR SURE plus will make things worse

has a short-temper, do not poke the bear or you’ll never hear the end of it. plus, if he doesn’t like you he’ll make sure you know about it and that he ruins your life the best he can.

he’s pansexual so hmu with all the romantic plots and angsty you guYS WANT

he’s had girlfriends and boyfriends but most of them ended badly so he’s not looking to get into another relationship anytime soon, though he’s not against it. if he likes someone then he’ll go for it. he’s very impulsive and quite charming if i do say so myself fsjifdjdf

doesn’t show his art to anyone ever don’t even ask ! if he offers then he’s into you for sURE, but will do it with people. like if you want him to paint with you or something like that then he’s definitely on board. loves shopping, loves cooking, loves buying unnecessary stuff, skateboarding, loves music and loves to jam with friends
