How are Jesse and vrox? I miss them

:’) They’re doing great Nonnie!! Just for you, here’s the SFW alphabets I wrote for them (belong the cut because they’re a tad long):

VROX:

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Vrox is very physically affectionate. Cuddling, putting his head on his partner’s shoulder, holding their hand, kissing them no matter where they are, wrapping his arms around their waist, playing with their hair, getting them in a headlock, he’s very touchy.

B = Best friend (Who is their best friend? How did the friendship start?)

Vrox doesn’t have any best friends, he has a lot of friends but the way he feels for them is kind of equal all-round. If he had to choose, he’d say Jesse is still his best friend.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Vrox is big on cuddling. If he and a partner or even a friend are sitting or lying down together, he will cuddle them. One of his favourite positions is lying with his head or his feet in his partner’s lap.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Vrox considers himself settled down. His and Jesse’s apartment is his home base that he ranges from, at the end of the day he can always come back and be disgustingly domestic and cute. He thinks cleaning is boring but he genuinely enjoys doing the dishes, because he can blast whatever music he wants and sing to it loudly and nobody is allowed to complain because he’s cleaning up. He’s not bad at all at cooking, he’s just lazy and prefers eating cereal.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

He’s not great or very considerate at it. He’d probably just very clearly drift away and ghost them, until they confront him or he finally bites the bullet and breaks up with them. He’s very blunt, even if he tries to say it kindly (or not, depending on why he’s breaking up with someone) and his break-ups usually lead to fights and yelling.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Vrox is a very loyal person, but he thinks legal binding is stupid, a waste of time, and shallow compared to how he feels for his partners. He really, really doesn’t see the point, but he would go through with it if his partner wanted to, and yes he would end up crying.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He’s never really gentle gentle. He’s either rough or he’s playful or he’s intense. Varying degrees of asshole, from endearing to picking a fight. But that just means that when he is gentle, it means something much more.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

He likes hugs, but he prefers giving them. His favourite hug is coming up behind someone, wrapping his arms around their waist and resting his head on the top of theirs or on their shoulder, depending on how tall they are.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Often. Vrox isn’t one to curb his emotions, if he’s feeling a lot of affection, he’ll say it. In a new relationship he says it pretty quickly and casually. Vrox feels anger very intensely, but he feels love just as fiercely.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

He’s the most jealous in his trio, but he’s still not that bad. He tends to act it up sometimes to be dramatic. It’s not very deep, just little flashes of “I want them, not you” but nothing bad, and he gets over it quickly.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss? Where do they like to be kissed?)

He’s very passionate, he goes for it without any insecurities. Sometimes he can go a bit too hard a bit too fast, but it’s not too bad.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Vrox is great with little kids, he’s the guy who waves or makes funny faces at babies in stores until they laugh. He doesn’t desperately want kids of his own, though, and teenagers tend to rub him the wrong way – he likes to be the most sullen, angry thing in the area at all times.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Vrox really doesn’t mind early mornings, but that will not stop him from complaining loudly through yawns. He likes having a long lie-in, conversation and cuddle before he gets up. Most of the time he showers early.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Normally there’s some kind of music and bad dancing, maybe chill binging of a show or movie, making dinner in the messiest way possible. Also, sex of some kind, he has a high libido and he just likes being close to those he loves. If not, definitely cuddling or sweet touching.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Vrox really can’t hide his emotions or secrets if he tries. Pretty much what you see is what you get. He will open up willingly more and more as the relationship goes on, though, about his frustrations with himself and how he wishes he didn’t have this emotion management issue.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

I know this may come as a shock, but Vrox is the least patient person on earth. Unless someone really can’t help it, then he’s a bit more considerate… but not by much.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about their partners? Do they remember every little detail they mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He tries, but sometimes info just doesn’t stick in his brain. He will occasionally forget anniversaries, but for some reason he’s better at remembering tiny insignificant details.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in their relationship?)

With Jesse, it was when he first met him, and when they had their first kiss. Nothing had ever calmed him down so quickly in his hound form and he never would have thought he would be worthy of someone like Jesse. He cried after their first kiss and just held him through the rest of the night, treasuring every second. He never stopped.

With Dante, it was when Vrox comforted him after a PTSD episode. Despite his sulking and annoyance at Dante for being so tough on him, he knows Dante only does it to keep him – and those around him – safe and that he just wants to help him. Being able to be there for him in a moment of rare vulnerability really impacted Vrox. It was also a good reminder to him that he wasn’t the only one struggling.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect their partners? How would they like to be protected?)

Vrox is protective… of everyone. If a stranger is harassing another stranger in the subway he will shove between them, if somebody is being really rude to a retail worker he will call them a dickwad. Even if it makes the situation worse, he just can’t let it go. He likes taking the spotlight off the person being attacked: he’d rather the situation escalate at him, rather than them. God help if somebody he actually cares about is being harassed. As for being protected, it makes him feel special, safe and loved.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He usually forgets anniversaries until the last minute when he runs and buys a gift. If you want to see Vrox panic, just ask him “do you remember what today is?” and he’ll shit himself. With dates he’s more casual but he always makes sure his partners have a good time. He likes giving gifts and seeing people’s faces light up, so his loved ones expect a few gifts every few months. If he sees something that even vaguely reminds him of them, he’ll buy it in an instant. 

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Let’s be honest, Vrox can be difficult to love. He has mood swings, days where he’s inexplicably furious, he can be lazy and too blunt. However, he is aware of all of these things and actively working every day to get better. His bad habits include: forgetting to vacuum until the dust bunnies start unionizing, being a few minutes late to everything, and liking mainstream pop music.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He’s a pretty vain bastard. He knows full well that he’s hot despite all his scars (and, frequently, bruises) and he capitalizes on it. The reason he’s late to most appointments is he’s trying to get his hair to sit exactly right (fighting a losing battle, his hair obeys no man, woman or person.)

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without their partners?)

Yes. He’d still have his friends and family that is the pack, but without Jesse and Dante he might have become a nightmare.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

He wears his partners’ clothes when he’s feeling very unstable, to try and hold onto the thought of what matters most to him.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Jesse using up all the hot water with his longass showers annoys him. Dante being such a bossy, demanding asshole annoys him even more. In general he hates people who pity him or act like he’s delicate or like he’s going to blow up at them if they don’t step carefully around him.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

He usually sleeps on his stomach with his pillow in a death grip, or spooning.

JESSE:

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Jesse’s very affectionate with both words and physical touch, but the peak of his affection lies in very companionable, warm silence. He wants his loved ones to know how much he loves them all the time, with many small touches, gestures and words. He’s very encouraging and he likes holding hands – he’s gotten more comfortable doing it in public, too.

B = Best friend (Who is their best friend? How did the friendship start?)

Practically the whole pack is his best friend, everybody adores him, and he has a lot of human friends, too. He gets along great with a hound named Taylor, another named Lisa, Heath, Noah, and he’s friends with June, too. But he still considers Vrox his best friend, because that’s what they were before they started dating and that’s what they still are.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

He loves cuddling, he’ll almost never protest it, but he does need his space sometimes, especially if he’s trying to concentrate on something: for example, he really doesn’t like being touched or held while he’s trying to sleep, it distracts him too much.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

He feels very happily settled down. The only nagging detail in his 1910’s brain is that he’s not married yet. He’s a very good cook, since his mum and dad taught him well, and he’s very diligent with cleaning. His spaces are messy, but they’re never dirty.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

He’d think about it very long and hard, and then have a heartfelt conversation with his partner and pray that it ends cordially because he never wants to hurt somebody he loves or has loved.

He is a very devoted person and was raised with a much stricter commitment policy by his parents and society at the time. When he loves somebody and he can’t imagine life without them, he’ll start to think about marriage – even just for the thought. Tying the knot is the dream.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Jesse is a very sweet person. He’s very considerate and he never wants to hurt anyone – but he’s not above playfully teasing, punching people’s arms or ruffling their hair.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

He enjoys hugs a lot, he just needs to be alerted to when somebody’s going to hug him. (If Vrox is going to hug him from behind, he’s gotten in the habit of tapping Jesse lightly on the shoulder before he grabs him.) Despite the fact that he’s pretty lanky, he gives beautiful hugs, you can just tell how much he cares about you through the hug.

Jesse was reserved with those three little words for a long time, but through his years with friends and partners he’s relaxed with it a lot more. He still never wants it to lose its meaning, though, it’s never just a throwaway thing to him.

He felt a lot more insecure at the beginning of his relationship with Vrox, and because of that they opened their relationship very slowly. Now he’s very comfortable in himself and knows he’s irreplaceable, jealousy is mostly a bad memory.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss? Where do they like to be kissed?)

He’s a very safe kisser, he knows what he’s doing and follows his partner to match their mood. He often cups his partner’s face or plays with their hair or strokes patterns on their skin while he kisses them, it’s very cute – also when he’s really having a good time he won’t be able to stop smiling which interferes with the kiss in a very cute way.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He feels very awkward around babies and very young kids because he never knows how to deal with them, but he’s very good with teenagers.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Jesse likes sleep-ins, but he also doesn’t mind getting up early – despite falling asleep late the night before. He takes most of the early shifts for his work, so he eats breakfast, has a shower, then he kisses his boyfriends goodbye and off he goes.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Jesse is a massive night owl and he’ll often stay awake till 2AM or later. He has a lot more energy at night so expect him dancing feverishly in his socks to music in his headphones while he does chores he neglected during the day.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Jesse doesn’t hide the things that happened to him, but he also never tells anyone unless they ask. He’s pretty open about his emotions, though, he knows that keeping secrets in any relationship is bound to end badly so he never lets things sit and rot, he’ll always communicate his feelings.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Jesse is a painfully patient person. He won’t lose his cool with anyone – except bigots. Unreasonable people who are just filled with hate and don’t want to learn anything or respect other people just existing? He will need to be held back.

He remembers most things, big and little, but if he’s stressed or busy things will slip a bit.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in their relationship?)

With Vrox, it was the first night he did karaoke with him. The pack’s a bunch of idiots so they hold karaoke nights in the communal area. Jesse was still very much in his shell, but Vrox got him up on stage. Vrox was in a super good mood that night too: he didn’t try to pressure Jesse, he just told him it’d be fun with a big genuine smile and Jesse trusted him. They sang together and hammed it up in the most dramatic way possible, and Jesse was shocked by how much fun he had. It was the moment he realized he didn’t have to have his guard up around everyone, and that he genuinely liked Vrox – despite having some reservations about this abrasive white boy beforehand.

With Dante, it was when Jesse was feeling very, very low again – the lowest he’d felt since he killed himself. Dante noticed and reminded him that he was here for him, and Jesse finally took a big step and opened up. Dante dropped everything to listen and comfort him about it. It was the first time somebody had really been there for him since his parents died. He trusted somebody for the first time in a long time.

(Note: Dante dropped everything for him because he still felt guilty about not being able to be there for him when he first arrived in Hell. It had been a busy, bloody night with a lot of new arrivals, and unfortunately Jesse slipped through the cracks and had to deal with his shock, confusion and despair alone. Dante will never forgive himself for letting that happen to him, even though it wasn’t his fault.)

The first time he kissed them both were also very, very big moments for him. He holds them close to his heart.

Jesse is very protective. He doesn’t really care what people say or do to him, he’s very used to it, but if somebody goes after anyone else, he’ll be furious. Even though both his boyfriends are bigger and scarier than him and they can take care of themselves, he’ll still try and put himself between them and the aggressor – whether to defend them or try and deescalate the situation. He picks a surprising amount of fights for such a sweet guy.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

What makes a date enjoyable to Jesse isn’t the location, it’s just spending time with his partner. His dates are chill, intimate and fun. He doesn’t often get gifts for his partners, but when he does, he makes sure they’re really special. Anniversaries are important to him – but again, he doesn’t like to make a massive deal of it, he just wants to enjoy his partners’ company.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

See, letter S. He tends to get into heated arguments and not caring when the situation escalates to dangerous levels, even if he could be hurt. He uses up all the hot water in his showers, but that’s more because he has to take proper care of his hair. He can put others’ problems and emotions above his own. There are random bits of dried paint around the apartment because he zones out while he paints, gets up to get something, and forgets that he has wet paint on his hands. (Yes he has gotten paint in Vrox’s hair before and yes Vrox screamed like he was shot, to which Jesse reached out without even looking and put a big blue handprint across Vrox’s face.)

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He keeps himself looking presentable because hygiene and ‘good impressions, not just the first one’ were always drilled into him by his parents. He used to have a lot of dysphoria surrounding his appearance but since he transitioned he’s learning to be confidant and that he looks handsome and hot as fuck, as Vrox and Dante keep reminding him. He also knows that if he flashes his dimple at someone, he’ll always get what he wants because it’s just that cute. He does kind of hate his borderline baby-face though – it makes ordering drinks and getting into clubs hell.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without their partners?)

He wouldn’t be incomplete, but he definitely feels more with his partners. He’d still have a ton of friends and lovers and fuck buddies without them, but he wouldn’t feel this specific love that makes him feel more than anything else.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

His favourite food is Skittles. Vrox doesn’t understand how he can like them better than M&Ms. This petty argument has been going on for years now.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

He hates that Vrox has to be caged so often, but that’s more because it makes him sad than anything else. Dante not taking care of himself and then ending up in a PTSD stress mess because he doesn’t chill and look after his own mental health frustrates him, mostly because Jesse has to pick up his pieces and help him be put back together again.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

He normally sleeps on his side with his arms wrapped around himself, kind of curled up. He has nightmares often.

Oc Master Post

Alright! I finally have all my ocs designed and written down! This is the official debut post for this oc blog! It’s really long (gotta go through 10 ocs lmao) so I’ll put a read more so it’s easier to scroll past. If your interested, please read and even ask me questions! I really want to interact with this fandom since everyone seems so nice and funny!

And yes, I did put grils instead of girls on purpose...I’m funny I swear

So I first want to say that my ocs are in an au, one which has NRC have female students (but still in low numbers) and an 8th dorm based on Captain Hook (making Ramshackle the 9th). Also Crowley is a tiny bit nicer to our mc in this au, mostly cause he’s basically her weird dad lol

There’s another addition to this au, but that’ll be addressed in my MC insert’s bio.

I’ll also list additional info that the text in the refs don’t address, including body types because I wanted my ocs to be diverse in that aspect.

Another thing, shipping. Oh great seven, shipping will be a free for all for me. I really like shipping. So any ship and every ship will be possible (as long as it’s not with Cheka or Ortho, cause no. Human Grim is fine, but he has to be in human form). With that in mind this blog will be very self-indulgent when it comes to shipping and such.

Charlotte (or Charlie as people call her) is usually quiet, especially when she first arrives in TW. But the more she’s comfortable around the people, the more she reveals her inner sass. She doesn’t want to admit it, but she’s as much as a dumbass as the ADeuce duo.

She’s also has albinism, but she used to constantly dye her hair into a more strawberry blonde so she wouldn’t get picked on by other kids. This condition also leads to her having to take many breaks during PE so she won’t burn.

She may like cats, but Grim really tests her fondness for them. But once it’s found out he can take a human form (and becomes more chill due to the amount of energy it takes to maintain said form) the two actually become the best of friends, which shocks the first year gang.

Whitney is what you expect from a rabbit, timid, nervous, shy, anxiety filled, and easily intimidated. At first. If you manage it anger her, suddenly you’ll be hit by both a Scottish war cry and a rabbit kick. When she’s angry, she’s a rage filled bunny who throws the most foul of curses. Her switches are rivaled to Deuce’s bad boy switch. And just like the boy, when she calms down she get’s very flustered. 

She doesn’t talk to many people, as she hates attention. But after some she does become acquainted with the boys, almost on the line of friendship with each.

Kaya is seen as a tough no bs girl, many females admire how she can go woman-to-man with the Savanaclaw males. But actually she’s nothing but a goofball that loves to tend to baby animals and make cute things. She has a talent for making beautiful woven baskets and earrings. She helps Ruggie a lot whenever she sees him overun by errands. 

She does have a tendency to nap anywhere and everywhere like Leona and Silver, but she apologizes sheepishly when woken up. Because of her napping habit, she tends to stay up late into the night.

Wendy is a very small moon jellyfish mermaid. She was home-schooled by her mother under the sea, while her father ran a business on land. She visited land often to see her father, fascinated by all neon lights shining in the city.

She’s very quiet, like she’s actually a selective mute. She doesn’t tend to hangout with people because she fears most don’t like her because of her selective muteness. Oddly enough though, she’s always seen with Floyd, to the bafflement of everyone. She finds the eels mannerisms amusing.

She loves to sing, but doesn’t want anyone but her secret singing buddy (Daria) to listen to her. Her voice is very high pitched, but soft that it’s almost hard to hear. She also loves baking, often seen helping Jade and Floyd with preparing the sugary foods and drinks Monstro Lounge offers.

Layla is like that one person who teases everyone and sees most as her friend. She uses both her height and pretty features to get a rise and fluster anyone. Her main victim is Jamil, much to his displeasure. She gets along great with Kalim, fueling his antics of carpet riding and shenanigans. But she does help Jamil in taking care of Kalim, often seeing the snake whisperer overworked.

She’s usually seen hanging out with Kaya and Whitney (with the rabbit being flustered by both of the taller females). She’s drawn to most in the Savanaclaw dorm, as she has the urge to pet their ears. She and Kaya are in the same class, so the two always buddy together, helping each other if needed.

Back home she comes from a line of exotic dancers, always entertaining other for money. With this in mind, she practices her dancing everyday. She hopes she can live up to the expectations her family has put on her. She’s not wealthy, but she’s not poor, so she doesn’t get too surpised over Kalim’s wealth. But she still does, especially when Kalim once offered to get her a tiger cub (she refused though).

Daria is another quiet and reserved girl, she’s not shy per say but she prefers people to approach her than the other way. She doesn’t particularly like that she was sorted into Pomefiore, cause all she wants to do is paint and sing. This leads her to grow close to Epel and anger Vil. She purposefully doesn’t do anything to her appearance, only brushing her hair as she hates tangles. 

She tends to stay in a secret area with Wendy, singing with the fellow quiet girl. If not that then she’s doing artwork in her dorm room, ignoring anyone who dares to pull her away from her work. Often times this leads to both her and Vil having a glaring contest cause she didn’t sleep (”Too busy painting” she says.) or forgot to do her morning skincare routine.

Body Type: Top heavy

Elina is the mom friend, always giving others affection and helping them when she can. Because of her affectionate self, she treats Ortho like her little brother. You’ll often see her playing with the boy, or in her room working on her prosthetics (with Idia helping). She loves making her limbs look non-human, but she has more human structure legs for school (as to not weird out her classmates too much). She’s made them since young, always improving and modernizing her limbs.

Because of a tragic accident, she has prosthetics for both legs and her left arm. And has trauma over car races or cars going over the speed limit. She never mentions her family around others, but it shows how much she cares for them. The same could be said for her friends.

Maria is basically the opposite of Lilia, while he looks young but acts maturely she looks mature but acts like a complete child. Most believe she’s staff before she has to explain that she’s a student. She’s not a brat (thank sevens) but she is very naive and innocent. This causes for her dorm mates to become somewhat protective if someone makes a pass on her (she never notices cause she thinks they’re just being nice). 

She has a talent with designing clothes, no one can explain why. Many have approached her to pay for her designs, but she refuses. She says she much prefers to just make and gift her designs to anyone. When she’s working, it’s the most mature you’ll see her. Everyone she’s interacted with has at least one thing she’s made, whether they wanted it or not.

Jessie is the dorm leader of Bonäuber, a dorm based upon The Captain of the Seas, who is held almost as high regards as the Great Seven. She’s a very childish and extremely cocky girl. She always praises herself for being the best out of everyone, when in actuality she’s not the brightest. The only thing she is good at she is shooting a gun, loving a good hunt. She also has a child fascination for board games, so she often plays (and loses) with Azul and Idia. 

Most don’t like her because she has a bad habit of stealing from anyone and everyone. This is because of her hard childhood, having to steal to survive with no family. The Savage Seas, and the isles among it, were tough on those with no wealth. It wasn’t until a kind pirate gifted saved her from a beating and gifted her a gold coin, her first coin. She now wears the coin on her neck and vows to become a pirate as great as The Captain, using her loot to make others who were in her shoes to have a good life. Because of her ambitions, she always goes for the rich when looting, Kalim being her main target. But because of how nice and generous he is, she gets flustered and runs away without a single coin. (It’s really cute ngl)

As a dorm leader she’s overly not strict, the most she can be is over how clean the dormitory is. Uniform isn’t strict as well, only forcing those in the dorm to wear the striped shirt, vest, belt, bandanna, and boots. Bottoms can be anything, and the corsets were optional. Most dorm members were interestingly mostly females, which confused many. 

Their dorm building is a functioning pirate ship, usually docked on a deserted island. Occasionally the dorm will go on an adventure, since most are those who love the sea and can’t stay in one place.

Sammy (what Jessie calls her) is the vice dorm leader of Bonauber, she’s very mysterious and weird to most in the school. She’s always by the shorter girl’s side, and always takes care of her. She is a big enabler, sharing her ambitions with the leader. She’s very humble about her intelligence and abilities, often only giving praise to Jessie. She’s almost like a mother for the leader.

She’s secretly a crocodile that saved (and traumatized) Jessie when they were younger. As she saw the little girl run from an adult, causing the reptile to attack the adult. She didn’t know why, but at the time a sudden feeling of protecting for the girl took over. Ever since then the reptile was drawn towards the girl, almost obsessive. It wasn’t until she developed her unique magic that she stuck with the girl from childhood. Jessie never realized, as Sam is very keen on keeping the object of her affections(?) in the dark. If anyone threatens the two, Sam will open her eyes and glare with her slit pupils as scales appear faintly.

And that’s all of them! After posting this I’ll start working on two things.

1: cards, I want to draw cards for them as if they are canon characters. I’ll work on the school uniform cards first!

2: Grim’s human design, this one will be easier as he’ll just be a sketch.

Okay so I took a pretty different approach to this one. Though I know Dumbo is a mammal and can exist in the Zootopia universe, I instead opted to have someone else take his role (someone who could actually have his same ear problem ;)

Raspberries Challenge #3: Dumbo

                                                    Jimbo

Nick Wilde and Judy Wilde-Hopps both loved the circus. It is how they met after all. To them there was no greater thing they loved more than going out together in front of the crowd and entertaining them with their incredible acrobatic feats.

That is until…

Their son was born. Then, there was something far more important in their lives.

Little James Wilde, or rather “Jimbo” as his father so affectionately loved to call him, became the talk of the circus upon his arrival. Not because the other circus performers were excited about the new baby, but because they couldn't stop gossiping about the baby's... unique appearance.

Being the hybrid son of a fox and a rabbit, James’ physical appearance was considered anything but normal -- having been born with the overall appearance of a fox, but still having some clear distinguishing rabbit-like features. His fur for example, gray and soft, just like his mother's with a white underbelly reaching all the way down to the lower half of his tail. But with black paws, feet, ears and tail tip like his father. His eyes, a dark shade of amethyst and a small pair of buck teeth at the forefront of his mouth. His tail, long like his father's, though curved a bit upward, puffy, and a little wider on the sides; giving it a similar look to a stretched out cotton tail.

Though much of his overall appearance didn't seem too otherworldly, the one physical feature that no one could seem to resist pointing out were his ears.

Pointed and mostly triangular like his father's, but unnaturally long and a bit narrower at the base. Thin in girth, soft, pink on the inside, and sensitive to touch like his mother's own ears.

Though his loving parents found absolutely nothing wrong with James, the same sentiments did not hold with the other members of the circus, particularly his parent’s fellow acrobats -- the sheep. To them it was commonplace to berate the young hybrid with harsh names such as “freak”, “funny ears”, and of course...their absolute favorite, “Dumbo”. A harsh play on the loving nickname given to the kit by his father and of the fact that he was half rabbit, ie half dumb bunny.

Things were tough for Nick, Judy, and James during the baby’s first year of life, but they managed to make due. What was hardest though was to keep the kit concealed from judgemental eyes. His father Nick, though unsure if the boy could understand him yet would constantly remind him, “Don’t ever let them see that they get to you” followed by Judy adding, “And know that we’ll always love you no matter what.” Though barely able to understand them given his young age, James would simply smile up at them and cuddle into his parent’s warm embrace.

As long as he had them and their love, James didn’t need anything else.

But one day……

James’ happiness was torn away.

A dark day when his parents were arrested and labeled as savages by the press for attacking a crowd of circus goers. What the papers refused to cover however, was that the fox and rabbit couple only attacked the crowd because their child was being mocked, physically tortured, and treated as if he were a part of the circus’ freakshow division by a group of troublesome boys led by a young orange-eyed elephant.

Nick and Judy naturally defended their child -- Judy by grabbing the young troublemaker mocking her baby and spanking him in attempt to discipline him. While Nick, defended both his wife and child when the mocking boy’s father attempted to violently stop Judy from disciplining his son.

When the authorities arrived, they immediately sided with the elephants as neither they nor anyone trusted the word of freaks against the word of an “innocent” child. Because of this, James was separated from his mother and father. And to make matters worse he was made into a clown and shunned by the other acrobats -- even more so than he already was.

He hadn't a friend in the world…

Except, for a short fennec fox named Finnick. A circus usher, Finnick had long been James’ father, Nick's best friend and when he learned what had happened to the boy’s parents he took it upon himself to care for the young hybrid kit.

Though gruff and rough around the edges, Finnick knew what it was like to be an outcast and ridiculed for having large ears. Feeling sorry for him, Finnick made it his mission to make James the most beloved class A circus star the world has ever seen! Big ears or not.

Finnick and little James sat just outside the clown tent as Finnick cleaned the smeared makeup off of the young hybrid’s face. The clowns inside the tent meanwhile, made greater fools of themselves in their drunken stupor -- gabbing about how successful their latest performance was and giving a toast to James or rather…”Dumbo”.

They, along with little James had just finished performing the ringmaster’s newest money making circus act: The baby clown rescue from a burning building -- with James serving as the baby who had to jump out of a burning building down to a trampoline hovering over a large cream filled pie dish.

“See? I told ya you’d be a big hit. They’re drinkin’ a toast to ya!” Finnick said as he washed the young mixed kit’s face. James however didn’t care, all he knew was that he missed his mommy and daddy. The mere thought of them brought a much warranted tear down the baby’s cheeks. He sniffled.

Finnick gave an awkward pause, not knowing how to comfort the young child. “You uh...you’re terrific! Colossal! Stupendous!” Finnick finished wiping the toddler’s sniffling face clean. “There ya go kid. Good as new.” James continued to sniffle with new fresh tears running down his face. “Come on don’t cry like that kid. You’re uh...you’re a success. You oughta be proud!”

James only teared up some more. “Uh…” Finnick scratched the back of his head. What can he do to cheer him up? He reached into his pocket, “Hey look! I got a peanut! Want it? It’s full of vitamins…and...”

James only responded with an irritated mewl and shoved finnick’s arm away. He’s not understanding! That’s not what he wants! James hopped off the small box he sat on and waddled across to the tent in front of them. He stood on the tips of his toes to point up to an ad promoting Nick and Judy’s acrobatic act. “Mm…” he whimpered, still unable to properly speak. Finnick looked up realizing that he was pointing up to an image of his parents.

Finnick grimaced sadly, “Sorry kid. Your mom and dad can’t be here right now.”

Unable to understand, James pointed up at them again and whimpered desperately.

“No Jimbo. It’s late. And they’re like ten blocks up the road. I can’t--”

“Mm…” James whimpered again, while hiccuping new tears. Though Finnick never believed he could ever have a soft spot, the look the kit gave him just made his heart hurt.

He groaned agitatingly, “Can’t believe I’m doin’ this…” Finnick sighed. “Alright, I’ll take you to see your folks.”

James smiled, somehow immediately understanding the fennec fox’s words. The happy baby rushed to hug Finnick.

Finnick smiled, but quickly shook it off. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. No Need to get mushy kid. Come on, I’ll take you to your parents.” Little James took Finnick’s paw and the two snuck out of the circus.

It was a long trek, but they finally made it to the police station where James’ parents were being held.

Within one of the holding cells, Judy sniffled, tears running down her cheeks, while her muzzled husband could only comfort her through the metal bars from his adjoining cell. Though he tried to be strong for her, Nick was trembling -- he’d always had a secret fear of muzzles and now he was forced to wear one. He felt so emotionally broken, what with the cold feel of the metallic device restricting his mouth, the evident pain his wife was in, and of course the thought of their little son being all alone. Despite his fears, the sight of his normally strong wife crying was far more painful to him than having to wear a muzzle.

Nick peeked toward the guard in charge of the holding cells -- he was asleep.

Nick reached into Judy’s cell to cup her chin, “It’s okay darlin’. It’ll all be okay…” he muffled through the muzzle with a shaky voice, struggling to keep from tearing up himself.

“No it’s not,” Judy said between sobs, “We’re here, locked up in a prison cell when all we were trying to do was protect our baby.” She paused as her breath hitched, “And now...poor little James is all by himself...he’s probably so scared...and-and…” A fresh stream of tears ran down her cheeks. “I don’t know if anyone’s even taking care of him.” Judy covered her eyes with her paws, sobbing.

Nick felt a greater need to caress her cheek in comfort. He swallowed hard as a tear managed to escape him. He couldn’t stand to see her like this and of course he couldn’t stand either knowing that their one year old son was helpless and alone.

“Why did I think I could discipline that kid?!” Judy cried suddenly, “If I hadn’t lost it and spanked him then little James wouldn’t be alone right now and we wouldn’t be here,” Judy placed a paw over Nick’s. She looked up at him with tears at the brim of her eyes and ran a finger over the metal of the muzzle, “I’m so sorry sweetheart...you wouldn’t be wearing this horrible thing if it weren’t for me…”

“Hey, hey,” Nick comforted as he wiped a thumb over a running tear on her cheek. “Don’t say that. It’s my fault I’m stuck wearing this thing. I’m the one who bit that charging elephant’s tail after all. But believe me Carrots, I’d do it all over again if it means keeping you and James safe. And even though we are here, I’m proud of you for trying to keep our boy safe. I never knew a bunny could tackle an elephant, even a young one,” he chuckled lightly.

Judy hiccuped, wiping a tear from her eye. Despite her fears for their son, Nick’s words managed to bring a semblance of a smile.

“There,” he smiled at her, “Now no more crying or else you’re gonna get me going too, hehe.” Nick chuckled with a single tear running down his cheek. Judy chuckled with him, her eyes still glossy. “Besides,” Nick continued, “I’ll bet Finnick’s been watching over James for us.”

Judy sniffled, “You think so?”

“You bet. He’s talks big and acts like he doesn’t care, but that talk really doesn’t match his height.”

Judy let out a breathy chuckle. She wiped her remaining tears away and rested her head against the bars next to Nick’s head. She sighed with a shaky breath, “I just wish we could see our baby. I miss him so much…”   

Finnick and James turned the corner into the alleyway just outside Nick and Judy's holding cells. “There it is,” Finnick said pointing to the barred windows. “Cozy little place ain't it?”

Right outside the cell windows, there were a stack of crates leading up to the windows. “Huh, that's convenient.” Finnick carried James as best he could up the large crates, until they were at the very top. Finnick stood in front of James, wanting to make it a surprise to his parents. “Just hope your folks are in here. Psst...Psst! Nick! Judy!”

Nick and Judy's ears stood on end when they heard the familiar gruff voice. Without a word, the two climbed on top of their cell benches to look out their respective windows.

“Finnick!” exclaimed the two in an excited whisper upon laying eyes on their friend.

“Hey guys,” Finnick gave them a two finger salute in greeting.

“What’re you doing here? How’s James?” Judy asked desperately.

“Well,” Finnick stepped aside, revealing their son standing right behind him, “Why don’t you ask ‘im yourself?”

Judy gasped happily with tears of joy swelling in her eyes.

“James!”

“Jimbo!” both Judy and Nick called out happily.

James smiled wide and reached out two little paws, “Mama! Dada!” He wobbled over against the wall beneath their cell windows. Nick and Judy stretched out an arm each while James clasped both his little paws up to his parents. Before the little kit knew it, his tiny paws had at last clasped at his mother and father's fingers. A surge of warm affection ran through the baby. He cooed up at them with an innocent smile.

Tears of joy ran down both Nick and Judy's cheeks as they moved their paws up to their child’s face, each of them caressing one of the baby's soft cheeks. James smiled, until joy overwhelmed him and he immediately wrapped his little arms around his parent’s arms, tearing up as he did. The baby wiped his tears away on his parent’s paws, resting his relieved face on both their paws.

Judy released a sobbing breath, for though they were still parted by prison walls they were a family again. Even if it was just for this moment.

Still…

It wasn't enough. She wished so much that she could hold her baby and rock him to sleep as she used to. To just let him know that his mommy and daddy were there for him.

James looked up to her and as if reading her thoughts, he tried to climb onto their paws. He was still so tiny. Often times he would easily fit into one of Nick's paws alone. Nick and Judy's eyes widened and an idea popped into their minds simultaneously. They pulled their paws away for a moment from the baby and Nick offered his paw to Judy. Judy placed her paw over his with palm up. They lowered their joined paws back down to the baby, like a swing in a playground. Knowing what to do, the baby took a seat on their conjoined paws as they rocked him gently to and fro.

Judy began to sing the baby his favorite lullaby with Nick adding in the occasional “Baby Mine”...

Don’t you cry

Baby mine,

Dry your eyes

Rest your head

Close to my heart,

Never to part,

Baby of mine

Despite his rough exterior, Finnick smiled happily and stepped aside to let them have their family moment together. He looked up to the sky as a warm parental air spread throughout the city…

Everywhere around the city mothers and fathers tucked their children in for the night. Kissing them goodnight and sweet dreams. It was as if James' lullaby was for every child, no matter the species or their current living condition.

Little one when you play,

Don’t you mind what they say,

Let those eyes sparkle and shine

Never a tear,

Baby of mine

Judy and Nick hummed, as around the circus some of the other performers with children rocked their little ones to sleep. To them, there were no fears about whether or not they’d see each other come morning. They knew they had another day to look forward to together and without the fear of being judged as a freak for simply being what they were.

Regardless if his parents could come with him or not, all James knew was that he was enjoying this moment and wished it could last forever.

Overwhelmed with the sweet air of it all, Finnick teared up a bit, letting a lone tear run down his face. He wiped it off and cleared his throat.

As much as he hated to end the sweet moment...it was time to go.

Finnick gave Nick and Judy a sign that they had to head back. They nodded sadly. “Don't worry. I promise I'll bring 'im back if I can,” he whispered to them.

Judy nodded and teared up at the lullaby's next lyric...

You are so precious to me,

Nick teared up as well the second he heard Judy sing that. James was just as precious to him too and didn't want to part ways with him either.

Finnick gently carried James down from his parents' paws. “Come on kid, we gotta go.” James held on tight to his parent’s paws before Finnick could go down the first crate.

Baby mine…...

Finnick carried the baby down, while the little hybrid kit’s paws slowly parted with those of his parents. Once they were down the crates, Finnick held James’ paw and led him away back to the circus, while James kept waving good-bye to his imprisoned parents.

Finnick and James turned a corner and were gone from sight. Despite that she couldn't see them anymore, Judy desperately hopped over to the other window her cell had available and continued to wave good-bye to her baby.

I would love to see a drabble of each turtle regarding nesting. I have this theory that when they mate, their instincts strongly compel them to make a nest to attract/keep their mate. For example, maybe Mikey piles pillows and blankets on the bed or hides food everywhere. How would each turtle and S/O react? Would the turtles be embarrassed? Would the S/O be confused? Would you consider writing this? Thank you for all your writing thus far and for sharing it with us! You're fantastic!

Leo:

Our leader in blue has decided that he wants you as his mate. He’s going to try to lure you into his abode, because he needs to show you what he’s made for you. If you approve, he will claim you. He will approach you formally. “Tenshi, come with me please? I would like to show you something.” Taking your hands firmly in his while keeping his eyes level with yours he will walk backwards through the lair, leading you. Leo knows you like no other, because he pays attention to you and notices the smallest detail. When you reach his room you will discover a new approach to his decor. You balance him, and he’s made sure that both yours and his personal likes are equally represented. The floor will be covered in hand woven grass mats, each painted (by him) with Japanese characters. Love, passion and tranquility are some of the representations that you will find.

If you love the colour green, there will be blue and green candles, or maybe even turquoise (representing the two of you coming together). Love the ocean? Expect sea shells spread in and amongst his Japanese collectables. If you enjoy reading there will be a comfortable chair with a reading lamp above it ready for you to curl up in. As for the bed, it is going to be a sumptuous masterpiece. Navy blue silk sheets await your naked flesh, while a beautiful comforter in your favourite colour is folded neatly at the bottom for nights that you get cold (he can keep you warm with just a sheet, but this is for when he’s on patrol). The pillows are soft and tempting, with more nearby in a basket. A mini fridge will hold bottles of water (I can’t see Leo eating in the place he sleeps, so no food) In this room, your every desire will be fulfilled (some of which you didn’t even know you had). Leo has made sure that you are going to want to spend a lot of time with him in there.

When you enter the room you raise your eyebrows in surprise. “So this is what you’ve been so secretive over?! You’d been wondering for weeks what was going on with him. “I love it!” Still holding your hands he will ask you if you accept what he’s made. All it takes is a nod. Blue eyes that were nervous are now sly.

Raph:

You and Raph haven’t been dating very long. Even though you’ve told him that you want to be with him, a wave of insecurity washes through him and he panics. He starts scavenging like crazy. The first thing he will do is make a bigger bed, after all he’s huge. He wants to make sure that there is enough room for all of the nightly (or anytime of the day your willing to let him) activities that will (hopefully) happen. Raph loves a high thread count for his sheets. We’re talking Egyptian cotton here. There will be a comforter on the bed, but he’s knitted a duvet for it. I visualize it made with a variegated yarn in the colours of the sunset. Matching decorative pillows will line the headboard. Just toss them off (or hell, use them to hold onto, lift your ass up or bite) when you and Raph decide to bump “naughty’s”. The headboard will be hand carved by him. He may act all tough but when he sees something beautiful he can appreciate it (like you). So I see a design with your favourite flowers and vines, maybe even hearts.

Raph will have a collection of your favourite music all ready to go on an iPod that Donnie fixed for him. While out looking for things he managed to find an old lava lamp. It’s now set up in a corner, the red coloured oil casting a romantic light in the room. If you have a hobby, say drawing, he will have an easel set up for you with a good lamp near it because he wants to watch you sketch. Raph, like Leo will have a mini fridge set up. It will be filled with your favourite foods. And, in case the mood strikes, chocolate covered strawberries. He read somewhere that they are supposed to be an aphrodisiac. The floor will be covered in thick pile rugs. One, he doesn’t want you to get cold. Two, you never know when the mood could strike and he ends up taking you on the floor.

“O Raph, you did this for me? Raph had finally shown you. He was a little embarrassed about this, but he couldn’t ignore his instincts anymore. Once you convinced him to talk to you about why he did it (because he was scared of losing you), at least one (probably more than one) of those nightly activities that he’s been fantasizing about for weeks was going to happen very soon (if not that night).

Donnie:

This guy is going to want to encourage you to keep coming back to him. He’s taken tons of notes on your personal preferences and has complied a database on you. With this information he will create a space that you will love. Some nights you’re hot and some you’re cold. Prepared for either situation, he will have an electric blanket (one that he modified so that it won’t catch on fire if you fall asleep with it on) and some lighter throws ready to go. There will be a body pillow for you to cuddle for when he’s on patrol. He’s made humidifier/dehumidifier that is preprogrammed to your personal preferences. Don’t worry, in case he misjudged, there will be a remote nearby.

On your nightstand will be a charging dock for all your electronic devices. Just place it on the black surface and a “Donnie” icon will flash when charging is complete. The lights, t.v, stereo, CD player, everything is controlled by a handheld, easy to use, universal remote (that he will excitedly show you how to use). He knows that you like falling asleep to white noise so he found a machine and programmed it with the sounds you normally listen to. There will be a love seat set up beside his desk (as a reminder for him to pay attention to you), with the pillow that you like to watch movies with in the corner. Area rugs will cover the floor and he will make sure that you have a pair of slippers for you so your feet won’t get cold. In a cupboard on the far wall are all of your favourite snacks with a chilled section for drinks.

You had been confused lately. Donnie was usually distracted with some project or another but whatever he had been doing lately was all encompassing. He was still affectionate with you, but you could feel that his mind was on something else. When he’d finally approached you, head down feet shuffling and told you what he’d done, you had run to his room to see. “Dove, wait for me!” He yelled. Opening the door you checked everything out. When Donnie came into the room you threw your arms around his neck and soundly kissed him. You didn’t come out for a full day (in your nightstand was a drawer filled with toys, some he had made just for you).

Mikey:

When you walked into the lair, Mikey was nowhere to be found. This surprised you. Normally you were greeted with a huge hug. Then you saw an orange rose, a few feet away an actual orange. After grabbing that you saw an orange frisbee. Smiling, you followed the trail that he had left for you. Arms full of various orange items you opened his bedroom door. The bed was now in the center of the room. It was round and piled high with blankets made of different kinds of fabrics and pillows or every shape and size. There was a hammock (big enough for two) strung up in the far corner, surrounded by orange coloured fairy lights. Beanbag chairs covered the floor and swag carpet finished off the look.

Matching his and her robes were hung on wall hooks and a set of bunny slippers were on the floor of your side of the bed. There was a shelf that was dedicated to all your favourite movies and video games. A full sized fridge was stocked with everything imaginable. Mikey had discovered that you loved Cream Soda, so cases of it rested on top of his Orange Crush. There was vanilla ice cream in the freezer for when you wanted a float (one of your favourite treats). Along with board games and cards Mikey also had a set of “special dice” that he kept in a black silk bag tied with orange ribbon (these ones were nine sided…one dice had actions and the other, body parts).

Mikey was so excited when you finally opened the door. You quickly got over your shock. Being with Mikey was so much fun that seeing him do something like this to encourage you to spend even more time with him just made you love him more.

Little did she know was that Rize only had cruel intentions in mind, but when Rize made his move on Kaneki, which only made her uncomfortable and nervous, Touka stepped in. After a few threats and hard stares exchanged between the two men, Rize stepped down and left, Touka immdiately moving to check on Kaneki.

After that small brawl, Kaneki seemed more attached to Touka, admiring him for his compassion and care and he certainly wasn’t complaining about their friendship getting closer. They talk a lot more about many things when the cafe was particularly quiet and Kaneki couldn’t help but start to feel more than friendly feelings towards her friend she had gotten closer to during the time they spent together. Little did she know that Touka had already been crushing on Kaneki for a long while. 

Unfortunately for the both of them, Touka still had his tsun attitude, often too bashful to really move forward with the relationship or give any compliments for the girl he admired (he thinks about how cute and pretty she is constantly, but never said his thoughts aloud.) Kaneki would try to say something affectionate, but her words would only came out as weird stutters with her face a bright crimson - Touka foud this so adorable that it was hard not to kiss Kaneki right then and there. 

Still, Kaneki knows such an attractive and well-liked man like Touka wouldn’t see Kaneki as anything special. No one ever had before, after all. 

By Christmas, Touka finally brings up her courage to ask Kaneki out, but these dorks end up panicking with them ending up as piles of embarrassed yet flattered mush when she finally accepts the date.
