Hi there! When I saw I had an ask, this wasn't what i was expecting, especially since I wouldn't consider myself an expert on any of this even remotely. That being said it made me so happy that you felt you could ask me this anon, here take a flower - (🌻) - while i attempt to explain as best as i can.

Asexuality basically is defined by a lack of interest in sexual activity and like most queer sexualities, can be visualized in the form of a spectrum, so there's sex repulsed asexuals (who don't want to have sex ever), sex neutral asexuals (who are okay with having sex, but depending on some factors), gray-sexuals (who are okay with some form of sexual activity not some other), sex positive asexuals (may enjoy having sex but don't consider it intrinsic to a fulfilling relationship or their wellbeing) and every other kind you can think of in between these extremes.

Asexual people typically do not experience sexual attraction. It is not to be confused with celibacy which is a choice, although of course asexuals can choose whether to have sex, get into romantic relationships or not.

I will stop at that, because like I already mentioned, i'm no expert on this, and i don't want to risk potentially telling you something inaccurate. I am an absolute believer that if you were really close to them like. BEST BEST friends close and they both had feelings for u they’d just take any opportunity they could to show their affection for you without exposing that they like you because you know!!! You’re super close, it’s totally normal for best friends to be affectionate and loving with eachother!!!
