height hc's
sarin hit his growth spurt early. he was already 5'7/167cm by thirteen but he was a gangly, stork like boy who was very proud of how tall he was and thought he would get taller. sadly, sarin's height capped at 17. he's slightly above average height at 5'11/180cm, but sometimes he wishes he had hit the 6'0/182cm mark. he'd also put on more muscle by then so he looked less awkward and noodly.
ragni has always been taller than eydis. he was very concerned he'd stay the same height as her but managed to grow a little more. he still wishes he was taller because he thinks he'd look more threatening. eydis also wishes she was taller because she hates people looming over her. she wants to be the one who looms menacingly.
tiphaine's always been tall.
misri's always been short.

hc + workspace, hc + relationships
word association headcanons || Accepting!
Tumblr media
Workspace:  Mireille’s workspace switches between her piano and her knitting desk.  At her piano, she keeps sheet music books and blank papers for composing in the space inside the piano bench.  Her knitting tends to go everywhere with her (she has a bag for yarn and knitting needles so she can work on her projects on the go), but the Knitting Desk has a drawer for patterns, a drawer for knitting needles, a drawer for crochet needles, and a drawer for various types of yarn.  She tries to keep her yarn extremely organized, because knots in yarn is a mess that she really doesn’t like dealing with.
Relationships:  At heart, Mireille is a hopeless romantic.  Although she’s been hurt before in the past by her relationships (most notably by her ex-girlfriend, Tiphaine), it hasn’t snuffed out that part of her nature that yearns for a healthy, never-ending-love, happily-ever-after relationship.  She takes a bit of a philosophical approach to most relationships too; she’s not one to shy away from a new relationship, as she sees it as an opportunity to experience something beautiful with another person.

pointless cooking/food headcanons because i’m procrastinating instead of being productive. i’m gonna order this from most to least proficient:
ragni enjoys cooking and is pretty good at it, more so in modern verses. he’d usually still rather order takeout but he does end up cooking a lot to save money. prefers spicy food but honestly he’s not picky at all and will eat just about anything.
sarin’s use to cooking but he’d definitely rather get street food. he’s proficient, but it’s nothing special. he really likes spicy food and enjoys light sweets such as wagashi.
eydis hates cooking with a passion which is why ragni is actually decent at it. she’s not bad but she just. really hates cooking. as frugal as she is, she will always opt for spending money so she doesn’t have to cook. she’s really picky.
tiphaine hates cooking too and isn’t even good at it. that said, she’s not particular about what she eats. she’s partial to strongly spiced foods.
misri can’t cook and that’s all you need to know. she makes tea. it works out because she mostly eats raw fruits and vegetables + breads and doesn’t consume meat aside from fish on occasion. it’s why sarin always brings her food.

wardrobe notes
tiphaine
muted & dull colors. favors greens and greys.
high collared blouses with bow style neck ties.
long skirts or high waisted pants with blouses tucked into.
victorian gothic energy.
should give “ghost of a widowed victorian woman” vibes.
misri
gold, white, pink, browns.
inspiration from khmer dancers, thai, and south indian fashions. she probably has a lot of couture style fashion in there too, based off what ionian nobles look like.
flashy golden jewelry. heavy bracelets. large earrings.
consistent make up presentation: gold at the corner of the eyes and a single gold stripe on her top and bottom lip
almost always wears shawls because she’s somehow always cold
sarin
deep reds. wears a lot of patterns.
his main coat is based off tibetan chubas but his clothing style is mostly based on traditional clothes from vietnam, thailand, china, and korea.
prefers sleeveless shirts with high collars and jackets/coats with longer sleeves to compensate. uses his coat to hoard things.
outside of patterns, his clothes aren’t intended to stand out in the way of higher class ionians. it’s all very practical clothing.
ragni
general colors are dark blues and greys.
wears a lot of furs and heavy coats. his silhouette makes him seem a lot bigger than he actually is. wears minimal armor, usually just a chain mail shirt.
has blue tattoos along his arms and neck, similar to many freljord warriors.
usually doesn’t wear cloaks, mantles, or capes. despite this, he adds a lot of bulk around his shoulders with the use of furs.
eydis
medium blues, greys, whites.
wears slimmer fit clothing than ragni, since she doesn’t feel the cold and so has little need for the heavier outfits.
frequently wears cloaks and hoods. more flowing movement compared to the heftier movement of ragni.
less fur, more feathers.
verain
white, gold, blue, occasional dark browns.
fancy and expensive clothing. always looks far too well kept for a man in bilgewater.
button ups and vests are a staple.
honestly not much to say on his clothing.

it’s sunday so here’s my characters and their love languages:
ragni physical touch, though he also is big on words of affirmation. ragni is more touchy with people he likes, but he also goes out of his way to help them out. on the other hand, ragni thrives off being praised and told things but it’s just as important people show him how they feel (actions speak louder than words yada yada) or he starts to doubt.
eydis receiving gifts, though close for acts of service. eydis doesn’t particularly like receiving gifts, but she shows most of her affection by giving people things or helping them out. physical touch is the least important to her.
misri quality time. misri isn’t big on being touched, doesn’t like people helping her, doesn’t care much for gifts, and will doubt anything kind you happen to say. being able to be around someone without constant tension or a need to present herself a certain way is what matters to her.
tiphaine acts of service. if tiph likes you, she’ll help you with just about anything. not to say she won’t complain but she will help. she appreciates the same from others, but she also favors quality time - being in the same room and not talking counts.
sarin quality time. sarin is touchy when he likes someone, but he’s not receptive to it himself. in general, he’s an even mix of all the languages, but the most important to him is just being around someone he cares about

❝     has tiph ever considered joining the army ? has she ever been offered recruitment ? how does she feel about the upcoming reprise of the ionian invasion ? WHERE in noxus does she live exactly and how well versed is she on noxian history and customs? ( as in customs of the empire not the various cultures that have been integrated )    ❞       —— ✱ @vixtionary

bless these questions because they're things i would probably barely think about on my own.
ok so let me preface this with, tiphaine is my attempt at a noxian civilian and a representation of an average noxian's life because i've found whenever i do try to make noxian oc's, i always lean too much into HUHU NOXUS EVIL trope. so then:
war, violence, battle, and strength have always played a part in ti's life, albeit in the background. her father was a trained soldier, and in general the rakkor are a very fight-ready people, largely due to their religious beliefs, with the majority ( from reading ) being able to fight. tiphaine was taught to use a spear, but she had no passion or interest. she's always been quick to concede to others and that hasn't really changed.
so tying into that, nobody's made an effort to recruit tiphaine. she does receive commissions from generals and soldiers ( typically for mage wear ), but that's as far as her involvement with the army goes. and because she shows very little affinity for magic ( outside of her ability to subtly weave it into her work ) nobody's considered her for a mage role either.
tiphaine in general tries very hard to stay out of politics. she's found politics in noxus are a good way to wind up dead or worse and so she'd rather mind her own business. so far, it's been working out for her. she's treating ionia with this same mindset. but on a related note, tiphaine's main passion is her work and creativity. she's rather droll as a person and usually in a sour mood, but she loves being able to make things and exploring new ways to go about it. the only thing she truly cares about when it comes to ionia is the opportunity to learn more for her trade.
some other thoughts: tiphaine doesn't have anyone very close to her that would be involved in noxus' army. she's fortunate in this regard, because it means when an invasion of ionia happens, she has very little to risk. on the other hand, it's not unreasonable to say she's not against a war because it also means more commission work for her.
AND lastly, ti lives in noxus prime, closer to the outskirts in one of the wealthier districts while her tailoring shop is further in the city. she comes from a wealthy family, but they're not ones with high prestige or anything like that.
tiphaine's knowledge of noxus is probably pretty standard and doesn't stand out from ordinary citizens. where it differs, i think, is in her knowledge of noble houses and their lineage, which was one of those specific things she had to learn. she can recite like, who was the first house in power and what is this family famous for. still pretty simple.
for customs, she's pretty familiar with them at this point. i know i said ti is pretty quick to back down, but that mostly just applies to battle and also her life not being at risk. she's been quick to adapt to the very aggressive culture of noxus. while she might not be a soldier, tiphaine is a master craftsmen and adept businesswoman and this is where her value and role in noxus come into play.
tiphaine was still pretty young and impressionable when she moved to noxus. i feel like, had she been older, it might have hit her harder how... ruthless and kinda fucked up a lot of aspects can be? like, she really doesn't bat an eyelash at how execution is seen as a form of entertainment to the masses.
hopefully this adequetly answers everything!!

tiphaine didn’t learn noxian until she was thirteen. prior to this, she knew it at a very, very basic level and only because the rakkoran would do trading with some noxian outposts. she could speak some common, though it wasn’t great.
as a result of learning noxian a bit later in childhood, tiphaine still retains a slight accent. 15+ years in noxus have mostly worn it away and she does make a conscious effort to downplay it.
her rakkoran is terrible now, given she never gets to use it.

i’m still fleshing out tiphaine a lot but one of the things i’ve been thinking about is her background:
magdalena liška is noxian born and raised and comes from a wealthy family. she’s spent most of her adult life traveling runeterra. after noxus began occupying shurima, magdalena turned her attention to the new land. she traveled to targon where she met otho, a rakkoran man.
the two fell into a quick romance and had tiphaine. magdalena made an attempt to settle, but up and left when tiphaine was five. i think her father’s parents were still around and helped a lot with raising her, as otho frequently trained and would be gone for long hours of the day.
her interest in sewing started when tiphaine would repair his torn clothes. as she held little interest towards battle, otho encouraged her to learn tailoring as a trade. he’d sit and sew and even began learning to embroider as a means of bonding.
magdalena came back into the picture when tiphaine was around twelve/thirteen. tiphaine had little choice in the matter. she was taken by her mother and returned to noxus to be the scion of the  liška family, after the unfortunate death of their eldest son. magdalena refused to take responsibility for the family name or to settle down at home and help provide, but she did present tiphaine so her daughter could take her place.
tiphaine doesn’t hate noxus — she rather likes it, in fact. its values have always struck her as similar to those of the rakkoran. both are a people of pride, valuing strength, skill, and their own soldiers.
her grandparents are still alive, but tiphaine is regarded as their successor and will inherit most of the liška name. she sees her mother very rarely. i think she was able to finally see her father, some ten years later, but there’s a divide between them that can no longer be fixed.
she visits him on very seldom occasion, as the journey to targon is an exhausting one that is rarely worthwhile to make.
some other thoughts:
tiphaine has some personal identity issues. while these days she considers herself noxian, it’s not as if she’s able to forget all of the things she was taught while living on targon. despite her dreary demeanor, tiphaine does value the sun and has some religious tendencies in regards to it. a lot of her work includes sun motifs.
she has some abandonment/commitment issues as a result of being torn away from her home and thrown somewhere else without any ability to stand up for herself. for a long time, she probably felt like her father abandoned her or just didn’t care enough to try and bring her back. i think she avoids getting close to people even now, because she’s wary of being forgotten or discarded. she has high standards for herself and others and it’s much easier to keep everyone at a distance rather than risk disappointment or worse.
in general, tiphaine is always on edge about things being taken from her. she hates change, especially when it’s unexpected. she keeps a minimal lifestyle because she can’t lose what she doesn’t have.
