height hc's

sarin hit his growth spurt early. he was already 5'7/167cm by thirteen but he was a gangly, stork like boy who was very proud of how tall he was and thought he would get taller. sadly, sarin's height capped at 17. he's slightly above average height at 5'11/180cm, but sometimes he wishes he had hit the 6'0/182cm mark. he'd also put on more muscle by then so he looked less awkward and noodly.

ragni has always been taller than eydis. he was very concerned he'd stay the same height as her but managed to grow a little more. he still wishes he was taller because he thinks he'd look more threatening. eydis also wishes she was taller because she hates people looming over her. she wants to be the one who looms menacingly.

tiphaine's always been tall.

misri's always been short.

Well.. not in a perfect happy-ever-after way, or i should call it was The Great Gatsby AU ((im trying to change the ending, after all they still my fav couple i cant let them divided))

Alastor first met Angel when he was 24 years old, and Angel was 14 and it was the first time that the youngest son of the Ragni family debuted.

They fell in love, spending that year's summer at the lakefront villa, witnessed by Molly and Cherry.

After that, Alastor has to return to New Orleans, disappeared without a letter. Some time later, the Ragni family received news that he might have died in an accident. Angel's heart also died that day

Heroin later agreed to let Vox, one of the billionaires at this time of America, marry Angel. And the letter from Alastor, who was surprisingly alive, was sent to Angel one day before the wedding.

pointless cooking/food headcanons because i’m procrastinating instead of being productive. i’m gonna order this from most to least proficient:

ragni enjoys cooking and is pretty good at it, more so in modern verses. he’d usually still rather order takeout but he does end up cooking a lot to save money. prefers spicy food but honestly he’s not picky at all and will eat just about anything.

sarin’s use to cooking but he’d definitely rather get street food. he’s proficient, but it’s nothing special. he really likes spicy food and enjoys light sweets such as wagashi.

eydis hates cooking with a passion which is why ragni is actually decent at it. she’s not bad but she just. really hates cooking. as frugal as she is, she will always opt for spending money so she doesn’t have to cook. she’s really picky.

tiphaine hates cooking too and isn’t even good at it. that said, she’s not particular about what she eats. she’s partial to strongly spiced foods.

misri can’t cook and that’s all you need to know. she makes tea. it works out because she mostly eats raw fruits and vegetables + breads and doesn’t consume meat aside from fish on occasion. it’s why sarin always brings her food.

    second year siblings ragni & eydis have always kept to themselves, regarding the other students at durandal with a wary eye. ragni is better known than his far more introverted sister, if only for his brazen attitude and tendency to get into too many fights. he spends most of his time in detention and when he's not in detention, he's trying to get himself into detention.

    most of the school seems to forget who eydis is, as she rarely shows up to class. in truth, her health is poor and leaves her unwilling to participate but she maintains high grades despite it. rumor has it she's a powerful ice mage and an incident in first year ( the details vary but most agree at least one faculty member and three students were frozen solid ) is why the teachers don't mind her missing class so much.

appearance notes

both siblings have dark brown hair

eydis wears hers in a waist length braid, often pulled over her shoulder.

ragni's hair is half shaved and reaches to his ears. has a strip of white in it.

ragni has yellow eyes and eydis has violet.

eydis has constant bags under her eyes and in general looks like death

ragni has a scar on his upper lip; eydis has a crescent shaped scar on her left cheek.

personality & misc

ragni's got that delinquent energy and eydis has 'if you talk to me i'll curse you for 100 years' energy.

they grew up alone and in general are awkward with people and have difficulty opening up.

a third of ragni's detentions are from sneaking animals into school.

ragni wants to be a hero and is afraid of being a failure. despite his behavioral issues, he has very good grades and does well in most subjects. both siblings struggle with group projects, eydis more so as ragni's a good team player in any physical driven subjects.

eydis is definitely softer than she wants to admit and has something of a complex due to her poor physical health.

misri

inspiration from khmer dancers, thai, and south indian fashions. she probably has a lot of couture style fashion in there too, based off what ionian nobles look like. 

flashy golden jewelry. heavy bracelets. large earrings.

consistent make up presentation: gold at the corner of the eyes and a single gold stripe on her top and bottom lip

almost always wears shawls because she’s somehow always cold

sarin

deep reds. wears a lot of patterns.

his main coat is based off tibetan chubas but his clothing style is mostly based on traditional clothes from vietnam, thailand, china, and korea.

prefers sleeveless shirts with high collars and jackets/coats with longer sleeves to compensate. uses his coat to hoard things.

outside of patterns, his clothes aren’t intended to stand out in the way of higher class ionians. it’s all very practical clothing.

ragni

general colors are dark blues and greys.

wears a lot of furs and heavy coats. his silhouette makes him seem a lot bigger than he actually is. wears minimal armor, usually just a chain mail shirt.

has blue tattoos along his arms and neck, similar to many freljord warriors.

usually doesn’t wear cloaks, mantles, or capes. despite this, he adds a lot of bulk around his shoulders with the use of furs.

eydis

medium blues, greys, whites.

wears slimmer fit clothing than ragni, since she doesn’t feel the cold and so has little need for the heavier outfits. 

frequently wears cloaks and hoods. more flowing movement compared to the heftier movement of ragni.

less fur, more feathers.

verain

white, gold, blue, occasional dark browns.

fancy and expensive clothing. always looks far too well kept for a man in bilgewater.

button ups and vests are a staple.

honestly not much to say on his clothing.

ragni does a lot of hunting for his tribe which has left him adept with a few weapons. while his favorite and preferred weapon (at least for battle) is a large battleaxe, he’s also skilled at using the harpoon and bow and arrow.

most of the time, when he goes off for hunts, he carries the harpoon and axe with him as they’re easiest to carry together.

he’s also pretty decent at laying traps.

ragni gets along really well with kids and when he has free time for himself, you’ll often see him playing games with or entertaining younger members of the winter’s claw. he tries really hard to be a good role model to the kids, partially because he spent so long without anyone to look up to.

eydis doesn’t dislike children but she’s not the biggest fan and usually seems uncomfortable around them, kind of like she’s waiting for one to bite her or something. she’s the type of person to get into a petty argument with a child and then refuse to be the bigger person.

it’s sunday so here’s my characters and their love languages:

ragni physical touch, though he also is big on words of affirmation. ragni is more touchy with people he likes, but he also goes out of his way to help them out. on the other hand, ragni thrives off being praised and told things but it’s just as important people show him how they feel (actions speak louder than words yada yada) or he starts to doubt.

eydis receiving gifts, though close for acts of service. eydis doesn’t particularly like receiving gifts, but she shows most of her affection by giving people things or helping them out. physical touch is the least important to her.

misri quality time. misri isn’t big on being touched, doesn’t like people helping her, doesn’t care much for gifts, and will doubt anything kind you happen to say. being able to be around someone without constant tension or a need to present herself a certain way is what matters to her.

tiphaine acts of service. if tiph likes you, she’ll help you with just about anything. not to say she won’t complain but she will help. she appreciates the same from others, but she also favors quality time - being in the same room and not talking counts.

sarin quality time. sarin is touchy when he likes someone, but he’s not receptive to it himself. in general, he’s an even mix of all the languages, but the most important to him is just being around someone he cares about

ragni and eydis' mother had once been part of the lost ones. she met their father when young, before she had the talent to transform herself into the monstrosities the ursine tribe is known for, where she found him trespassing on the ursine's hunting grounds. the rest of the story is forgotten.

ragni inherited the power of the storm from his mother. he's unfamiliar with the ursine tribe and holds them in a similar regard to the rest of the winter's claw, but he is aware of his heritage. most of it is still a mystery but ragni isn't much of one for dwelling on a past that has nothing to do with him.

RAGNI

autophobia: fear of being alone. ragni is fine venturing out by himself but the idea of being truly alone, with no one to rely on, scares him.

atychiphobia: fear of failure. he would rather die than disappoint anyone around him.

belonephobia: fear of needles. he won’t let anyone know, though.

his favorite animal are bears followed by poros.

EYDIS

claustrophobia: fear of being confined or confined spaces.

lockiophobia: fear of childbirth.

related, eydis doesn’t like being in crowded places or being surrounded by people. she has a hard time speaking up and tends to get drowned out in groups.

she likes birds and poros.

MISRI

astraphobia: fear of thunder or lightning. mild but misri doesn’t like the harshness of thunder and gets jittery when exposed to it.

hemophobia: fear of blood. it makes her sick.

nyctophobia: fear of the dark. misri doesn’t mind dim lit places but if she can barely see, she becomes uneasy.

misri is also afraid of variables and to another extent, decision making. she does not like knowing the exact outcome of any given situation and prefers to avoid making her own choices. this is also because she dislikes making an impact on anything and feels that, when she does make a choice, it will end negatively and be her fault.
