Word Count: 843 You were on FaceTime to Tyler. “So you want to come over tonight? Just chill out. You have been pretty stressed recently, watch movies and that yeah” he suggested. “I really like that idea babe, I will see you later. You always know when to cheer me up” you laughed. Trent walked into his brothers room. “Who are you talking too?” He asked his brother. “Y/N, I have invited her over tonight. She has been super stressed with work and stuff. So I thought I would invite her over” he smiled, his brothers face dropped. “why the face? What is wrong with you?” Trent shook his head. “Just nothing, I will see her later then” he smiled as he left the room. Little did Tyler know, that Trent actually liked Y/N, he had feelings for her ever since she had become close friends with his brother. He had no idea if Tyler had feelings for you, it would be extremely awkward if both of the brothers had feelings. There was a knock at the door, it was Y/N. “Hello Ty” you smiled as you grabbed him for a cuddle. “You alright darling?” He smiled as you nodded. “I am okay” you said as you closed the front door. “Thanks for coming, I was worried you weren’t going to babe. I know it has been petty hectic recently” you nodded. “Its been mad, I feel a little relaxed now” you said as you saw Trent standing at the door. “Hello” he grinned as you gave him a cuddle. “Hi” you said as you noticed his face was blushing. “Nice to see you again babe, its been a while” you told Trent. “It has, I hope you are well” “Go in babe, I will get some snacks” Tyler suggested as you went into the living room and sat down on the sofa. “I really like her” Trent whispered to his brother. “You are serious? okay bro. Maybe you should tell her, I know she does have a soft spot for you. She didn’t mention it, but I just know. You know I have been best friends with her for years” Trent smirked. “Work your magic” Tyler teased is brother as they both went into the living room. “Do you mind if Trent joins us?” He asked you, as he hands you a drink. “Thanks, no its fine” you smiled as Trent sat next to you. Tyler trying to hide the smirk that was appearing on his face. “So Y/N, what film do you wish to watch?” Tyler asked. “Hmm don’t mind, as long as it isn’t scary because I will be straight out of that door” you laughed as Tyler smirked. “Hmm maybe I will do that okay” you rolled your eyes at him. “right let’s put it on. That might get you all scared, you might need to cuddle up to one of us. This could get pretty scary. So which one will look after you” you laughed as you turned around to see the boys both grinning. “Hmm this is a great plan, I can see you planned this one well" he winked. Tyler coughed, hoping this would be Trent’s moment to comment on how he really felt about you. But he stayed silent. Trent couldn't comment at all, so Tyler took on charge. "Y/N, Trent has wanted to tell you something, but he is clearly being a baby. So I'll take this lead" you looked so confused at the boys. "So basically what he is trying to say. He has really liked you since we have been friends. So yeah, he was too much of a pussy to mention it. Don't worry I know you have always had a soft spot for him to" you felt like your face was burning in embarrassment. "I feel like the ground needs to swallow me up. I can't believe it" you laughed. "So are you embarrassed because you feel stupid or don't want to talk about us?"  you laughed again. "Yeah I am embarrassed but I am honest, I am quite happy that you finally let out how you feel." you grinned, feeling super happy. “Want to cuddle?” Trent asked. “Oh you are a quick mover aren’t you babe” you smirked as you leant into his body as he put his arm around you smoothly. “Hmm maybe I am? Maybe I’m not” he teased you. "Thanks for telling me after all these years, I am glad you feel the same to be honest. Thanks again" you kissed his cheek as you snuggled in between Trent's legs. "me too, Tyler probably hates us. He has lost his best friend" he laughed. "To be honest, I am glad. I just wanted the two people in my life to be happy. No matter how cringe that sounds" Tyler told you. "Aww Ty, you cutie. I am happy, now Trent will have to take me on many dates" you teased. "Hmm I suppose I will have too now won't I" he laughed as you carried on watching the film.

Hey, y’all! Stories Update!!

Hey, y’all. So, I know I haven’t exactly been posting much on here lately. I’ve, in a way, taken a small break from writing my Negan/JDM stories for a bit. But, that doesn’t mean that I’ve stopped writing. In fact, it’s quite the opposite! I just wanted to let y’all know that I haven’t stopped writing. In fact, I’ve been working on stories with @mychemicalimagines and @supernaturalwritingbunker. I decided I would let you know what they were, in case y’all wanted to go check ‘em out! If you love my Negan writing, feel free to check out these other stories I’ve worked on/been working on! They’re listed in alphabetical order, based on the first name then by the first name of the fic, unless otherwise stated (i.e. the Jasper Hale “You’re My…” Series). Stories we haven’t posted yet don’t have links, but everything else does. I’m hoping that I’ll get some more inspiration to keep writing for Negan here soon. We’ll see! Stay safe. Stay negative of Corona. Have fun! And as always, feel free to reach out and talk. I’m here. I just might not always reply back right away. 

*For the stories listed below, I’ve separated based on which blog it’s from, and whether it’s a movie or show fic. Beyond that. I’ve separated them based on which show or movie it is, and if applicable, I’ve indicated if it’s a series or not. I’ve included the title of the story, what it’s status is (finished, in progress, or on hiatus), how many chapters there are, and the relationship pairings. If it’s on hiatus, the main reason for that, unless otherwise indicated, is that we just aren’t quite ready to finish that particular story. It’s like having a kid, watching it grow, and then them being all grown up. You wanna hold onto that innocence for as long as you can. XD Another reason that they might be on hiatus is we just haven’t had any mojo for writing it. Now, for the “in progress” stories, we are still writing those, but, some haven’t been updated in awhile because they aren’t getting enough love for us to want to continue. Synopsis: Caroline needs to get her head on straight after the ball and is still awake when Klaus drops by.

The kitchen smelled like her childhood. Warm brown sugar and melting chocolate, the memory of afternoons spent baking with her dad were precious moments that still ached. Pre-vampire Caroline has really hated cooking, and she’d found her opinion hadn’t changed much over the past few months. But baking? With its necessary precision and attention to detail, even the most finicky of recipes soothed her. It had been her dad that had first put a wooden spoon in her hand, who had sighed at her scrunched nose and red face and smoothed her bangs.

“Come on, Care Bear. Let’s try a new recipe today. I’ll let you pick.”

But those memories had been filled with afternoon sunshine and the blare of a radio, and they had been a long time ago. Long before the silence between her parents had grown cold and Bill’s business trips had taken longer and longer. Her childhood was bittersweet and it clogged her throat to think of all the things she’d lost.

But that was for another night.

Tonight, all she had was the silence of her home and the shadows of the neighborhood around her. With her mom working the graveyard shift, she had the house to herself. It had been a relief to come home to shadows and silence after the noise and color of the ball. A chance to process and detox, push away the memory of Klaus’ hands on her skin, the boyish, curling smile on his face and the anger as she’d walked away from him. Breath shuddering in her throat, she stirred the cookie dough a little more thoroughly.

A little pre-baking cleaning had helped calm her juggling nerves and here she was, getting worked up again. The fridge was stuffed with sympathy casseroles, and she’d thrown out dozens of wilting flower arrangements. The cards were neatly stacked and organized in piles alphabetically and according to whom she still needed to reply to.

Her mom probably wouldn’t even notice.

Tomorrow’s project would involve freezing what was left of the food that her mom would eat, she’d already packed the leftovers into Tupperware so she could return the pans to her neighbors. But her dad had taught her to never return a dish empty, so at least her midnight baking would have a purpose. Absently licking at a smear of cookie dough, Caroline watched the clock on the oven click over past 3 AM, and mentally counted her blood bags. She’d need an extra tomorrow, to offset her lack of sleep, but her mind couldn’t stop spinning.

Is it so hard to believe I fancy you?

She’d showered as soon as she’d gotten home, needing to remove Klaus’ lingering scent from her skin. She scrubbed herself pink with her favorite soap, and stood in the shower far longer than needed. The dress was already folded and packed in the box it had arrived in, her bra and underwear at the bottom of her dirty clothes hamper. Now she was sitting in her kitchen in old cheer sweats, and surrounded by two dozen cookies while she worked on the next batch.

And nothing had managed to stop the wheels spinning in her head.

Running a hand down her face, Caroline tried again to decide how she felt about the fiasco that had been her night. The dancing, the hunger and lust in his gaze, those falsely boyish smiles and the rage that had burned when she’d flung his diamonds back at his face.

Klaus had meant every word he’d said and none of it. That was the game he played. Perfection and coercion, falsely sweet words that clung like poisoned honey. It’d been easier to push aside her curiosity, that niggling fascination for how his brain worked before he’d turned his gaze towards her.

Klaus was a monster. But he was a smart one, always steps and steps ahead of his enemies. She didn’t want him, she needed to not want him, and she was pretty sure he didn’t want her either, and it stiffened her shoulders to think he saw her as the distraction Damon insisted she play or his very own potential Trojan horse.

She would never betray her friends.

But Caroline didn’t want to die.

Eyes closing at the thought, she took a careful breath. The games Damon played were dangerous. Esther, Bonnie, all his siblings were spinning on a course that could only lead to collateral damage, and she was sick of it.

Tyler too sometimes only saw her as useful. Her dad had died helping him and still the last time they’d talked he’d wanted her to play more games. As if she wasn’t drowning in grief and what if’s, as if her world hadn’t been twisted as violently as his, as if she wasn’t trapped in a spiderweb she had no idea how to escape. Her fingers tightened on the wooden spoon, and she exhaled slowly.

She and Tyler hadn’t chosen what had been done to them but they could choose how they responded and she was starting to feel less and less comfortable about the bitterness he carried. The hard edge of rage. Whatever had happened when he left and found Hayley had sharpened parts of Tyler she hadn’t known were there and she wondered what he saw when he looked at her. If what he saw made him as uncomfortable as it made her.

Lips flattening at the thought, she reached for the bag of chocolate chips and froze at the sounds of her front door opening. Eyes snapping up, body going taut at the potential threat, her stomach knotted at the sight of Klaus stepping into her home.

For a long moment, they just studied each other.

In the hours since she’d left the ball, he’d ditched his jacket and bow tie, his white waistcoat nowhere to be found. His hair was no longer so perfectly arranged, he’d rolled his shirt sleeves to bare his forearms, and if that wasn’t enough to spike her blood pressure, he still wore his suspenders. Hidden behind the counter-top, her nails dug reflexively into her palm. He’d been stupidly good looking earlier at the ball with his sly smiles and dimpled promises, but this? Rumpled, lips bitten red, his gaze dragging along her body with a slow perusal that set her nerves of fire was something else entirely.

Klaus smiled slow, cheeks creasing, all of the anger from before tucked beneath charm and guile. “I’m surprised you’re still awake, love.”

“Your family is exhausting,” she agreed tartly, straightening her spine. “But of the two of us, I’m the only or who is expected to be here at all. Kind of rude, just bargaining in, don’t you think?”

He gave an elegant little shrug and strolled closer. Her jaw flexed, and he reached into his pocket, pulling out a velvet box and setting it on an empty space on the counter. “I do have an invitation. And perhaps it is also just as rude, don’t you think, to return gifts?”

Shoving the wooden spoon back into the cookie dough before she was tempted to smack him with it, Caroline settled a hand on her hip and faked her bravado. “It’s way ruder to offer gifts with so many strings in the first place.”

An amused glance from beneath his lashes before he peered at her cooling racks of cookies. “Most women enjoy apology jewelry.”

“I must have missed the apology.”

One dimple peaked high on his smile and he snagged a cookie. “I didn’t realize you baked.”

She narrowed her eyes as he took a bite, his clear dodge. This entire conversation felt surreal, a little bit domestic, and a lot concerning. Wasn’t she just thinking about how dangerous he was? This, this charm, only highlighted that danger. He slipped so easily from mood to mood, as mercurial as the wind and she needed to remember that.

Promises or no.

“It’s not like we really exchange small talk. And that’s the only cookie you get. I have a dozen dishes to fill and I need this done before mom gets home.” She tipped her chin towards the dining room table where the clean dishes and tinfoil were waiting for her. She was willing to bet he'd already noted the dishes, but so what. “So why don't you get to your point and leave?”

Klaus made a thoughtful noise as he finished the cooking, dusting his hands of crumbs. “Need help?”

“From you? Absolutely not.” The words slipped out before she could catch him and find something politer to say. This was her grief, her method of coping. He didn't get an opinion and he didn't get to pretend they were friends. Not when he wold kill all of them if he thought it necessary. This? This mess and this grief and this small thing to help her mom was hers.

The smile died on his face but she didn’t flinch. She didn't know what he read on his face, but his head tipped in a silent acknowledgement. Instead of baiting her more, his hand returned to his pocket, and this time he produced a rolled up piece of parchment.

Caroline looked at it warily. “What is that?”

“Part of the apology,” he murmured as he set it delicately on top of the box holding the diamonds. “The bracelet is yours love, no strings. Do with it what you will. As for the rest.” He paused, blue eyes narrowed as he studied her, a hint of gold burning the edges of his iris. “The games my mother plays are not kind to her pawns. Be sure you don’t find yourself in over your head, Caroline.”

She lifted her chin to hide her tremble. “Threats?”

“Call it a warning.” Klaus said. “Likely the only one you’ll get.” Just as quickly, that sense of danger melted under another smile and he snagged a second cookie before turning and sauntering away at her protest.She slid her tongue between her teeth at the sight of just how well his pants were tailored and the way the suspenders highlighted the length of his back. The image was going to be burned behind her eyes for days.

As if he could sense her gaze dragging down his spine, he cast one more boyish smile at her as he opened her door. “The cookies were delicious, love. I do so look forward to learning what other secrets you're keeping.”

She watched him go, barely breathing, a mix of alarm and arousal mixing with adrenaline. So many layers. The hidden threat in his words, the reminder that he could walk into her home whenever he wished. The return of the bracelet, that little bit of claim he’d laid on her life.

An apology.

Swallowing, she wiped her shaking hands on her sweats and reached for the parchment. It unrolled to show the familiar lines of her face and the perfect image of a horse.

Thank you for your honesty.

Swallowing, she set the drawing down and didn’t know what to think.

For your alphabet I think Virgil Van Djick but I didn't have any plot A-Z Of My Alphabet Series! Word Count: 959 It was the best awards in Milan, you were really excited but also absolutely dreading it at the same time, You were so scared of all the paparazzi. "Ready baby" you smiled as you got to the private jet as you headed to the awards. "I am ready, I am excited. Are you?" you said to him as you laid your head on his chest as he stroked your hair. "Yeah I am excited. Who would have thought all these years ago in Celtic I would be at the best awards. Its mad, how crazy my career has gone" he smiled. "It has been mad babe. I am very proud of you though, it makes me so amazed at how well you have done. Every game you improve and I love watching you each and every game" you smiled. "I love how supportive you have been, moving with me. Travelling with me to away games, I don't know if many other girlfriends do it to full commitment as you do. I promise I will help you and make your summer the best yet, It has been so busy too" you nodded. "very busy, but all worth it" You looked out of the window, looking at the beautiful views. It was so beautiful, something you didn't imagine you would ever do be in a private jet. It was gorgeous. "We are landing soon, do your seatbelt up babe" Virgil told you as you put your belt back on. You closed your eyes tightly as you hated the landed part. It always made you feel super weird and you ears felt like they were going to explode. The jet landed, Virgil helped you off and grabbed your bags behind you. "Lets go babe" you smiled at him as he grabbed your hand while still carrying your bags. You got to your hotel where you were starting to feel nervous. This was the first huge event you had been with Virgil. Usually you don't come with him but this one you were so happy to go with him. It was going to be amazing at hopefully Virgil won the award. You had a quick cup of tea because you were really thirsty from that plane ride. "So are you getting ready any time son babe?" you smirked at him. "Hmmm well what time do we need to be there because I could squeeze some food in. But I guess if I need to get ready now then I will" you laughed. Virgil took a look at his watch. "Yes you need to get ready babe as the red carpet is in about an hour and half. I don't want you to be late or even us haha" He laughed as you put your cup of tea down and jumped in the shower. Virgil sorted his hair out while you were in the shower. This case he was attempting to get ready before he needed to jump into the shower. You walked out in your bra and knickers, deciding that you needed to get your makeup on. You put all your makeup on, you weren't sure how your look wanted to be. It wasn't going to be too much, it was just enough. A pretty eye look, with heavy mascara on. Also a dark lip colour to go with the dress you had bought with you. Virgil had finished his shower, heading into the bedroom to put a suit on. "Mmm" you bit your lip as you looked and admired your husband. "What is that for baby?" he laughed at you. "You know what I mean. I think you look insane, I can't believe you are my husband" you smiled at him as you put your dress on over your head "How beautiful do you look, shall I help you darling?" you nodded as you looked in the mirror with Virgil behind helping you. "Wow babe" he said as he admired you up and down. "You look absolutely incredible. I cant believe you" you grinned as you kissed him on the lips. "Oops you have mauve lipstick on your sorry" you laughed at him as you smudged your lips. "That's okay" you wiped his mouth. "Thanks" you smiled as you walked downstairs as you got your bag. You headed to the event the car took you. "I am so nervous" you said as you clung onto Virgil's arms. The paparazzi were everywhere as you stood up and got out of the car. You and Virgil walked onto the red carpet. You felt so overwhelmed. The cameras were papping away so many photos of you and Virgil. "I can't believe this, I am so nervous" you said as you finally got to the press bit. Virgil had a view interviews, you  standing there looking a little stupid as you had no idea what to do. He was finishing all his interviews and you were now heading to your seats. "Are you nervous babe?" you said as you sat down and glanced at everyone around you. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo were there. You really couldn't believe it, you were living this life right now. "The player who is the winner for the best player award is...... LIONEL MESSI" you graciously clapped even though you weren't happy that Virgil didn't win. But at the end of the da it was Lionel Messi, he is a footballing legend. There was a pause in the award ceremony. "Sorry you didn't win babe" you whispered. "It is okay babe, next time I promise. Anyway I have won you" he winked at you as you tutted in response. "how cringe can you get" you laughed at him. "But I love you "you said to him, kissing him on the lips.

Second Attempt

Cyrus’s pov

October, 188X

He gritted his teeth, as Cillian Lynch and his band of Slytherin Purebloods walked by, laughing about something.

There was no point confronting them now. That would only lead to trouble.

Even if he had the strong desire to find a cricket bat and knock some sense into them, consequences be damned.

He hurried along, passing the Herbology greenhouses, and heading out to the grounds at large. He’d taken to hanging out between the greenhouses whenever their professor wasn’t there, and knew that most everyone avoided the small cemetery nearby. He dodged a group of Gryffindor girls, including Eleanor, who gave him a roll of her eyes. He shrugged it off.

She would probably grill him later over it, but for now, he needed to find both their head of house, their potions professor and their transfiguration teacher. And Rionnach Dagworth, who was probably in the potions classroom anyways.

His mother had owled him a copy of the weather forecast, which he’d received during breakfast. She’d also included her own predictions, which foretold a strong electrical storm in just over a month’s time.

Just enough time to try and complete this damn arduous task of transforming. He was anxious to see what his form would be.

The rest of the boys in his dorm were off exploring some part of the school, though he suspected they had something up their sleeve for Cillian, though he wasn’t 100% sure on that.

He skidded to a stop in front of the potions classroom and knocked. He was just glad it was Saturday. No risk of interrupting a class, but possibly the potions club.

The heavy door creaked open, revealing the face of Adelia. “Northrup.”

“Selwyn.” He responded, smirking. “Is Rionnach here?”

“She is. And in the middle of a brew.”

Movement caught his eye. “Any chance I can borrow her for a moment?”

“I’ve got five minutes,” came Rionnach, joining the small group. “What do you need, Northrup?”

Adelia excused herself, and he fished the parchment he’d received out of his pocket.

“Received the weather forecast. Looks like we’re still on.” Rionnach’s expression cleared.

“And you want the potions professor to know.” She breathed.

“And you, among others.”

“Well, thanks. I’ll let him know.” A pause. “And thanks for the break.” She laughed, pulling a little at her collar.

“No problem.” He waved, before heading off to the transfiguration classroom. Hopefully, both the teachers he needed would be there.

Teachers informed, he headed towards the Great Hall. Dinner, then to the kitchens. He would need food for the next month, if he was going to survive the month with a mandrake leaf.

He was also going to need a chalkboard.

Rionnach decided post-dinner was a good time to ambush him, and shove him in a broom closet.

“Found this,” she started, brandishing a familiar bottle, slightly coated in dirt. “From the last time we made it.”

“And you had to shove me in a broom closet, why?”

Her only response was a smirk, before pocketing the vial. “Now all we need is a mandrake leaf, a month and keeping Cillian Lynch from ruining it. Again.”

A Newspaper Run-In

This is decidedly more than a paragraph

11 September 1995, early

Leicester 

Ellie pov

I limped into my flat after a weekend spent between the observatory and computer lab. I tossed both Saturday and Sunday's Prophets near the corner I designed my potions corner, and shuffled through the Muggle post that had accumulated over Friday and Saturday, along with whatever owl post that had arrived Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

A tightly rolled scroll stood out, addressed from Percy Weasley, catching my attention. I picked it up, before a clattering of wings and claws caught my attention from the kitchen. It was the Prophet owl, and I pushed the requisite amount into the leather pouch, before taking the paper, and it fluttered off back to London. 

I left it on the counter as I made myself some tea. I had a feeling that I wouldn't be getting much sleep, even if tonight would be busy. The kettle whistled, and I blearily poured, adding the needed sugar and honey after it steeped. I blew, before taking in a mouthful, and…

Promptly spitting it out in shock, as I unfurled the paper and revealed an unpleasantly familiar face giving a nasty looking simpering smile in the picture splashed across the front of the now tea stained paper, as I coughed and unsteadily set my mug down on the counter, a small bit sloshing out. 

My eyes flicked to the bold headline:

MINISTRY SEEKS EDUCATIONAL REFORM

Followed with the subheading:

Dolores Umbridge appointed first-ever “High Inquisitor”.

“WHAT!?” I half shouted, forgetting the absurdly early hour, tossing the tea covered newspaper on the floor, the now-cringing photo of Umbridge landing facedown on the not-as-clean-as-it-could-be linoleum. I stumbled over to my table, sitting down shakily and trying not to be sick.

Umbridge had been bad enough, the times I’d had to interact with her in 7th year at the Ministry, but the fact she was now the DADA professor at Hogwarts certainly didn't help. 

Had Dumbledore lost his mind?

My hand twitched to my mobile before remembering, 1. The twins weren't at Hogwarts anymore, 2. they were spending time in Hogsmeade, and 3. It was going on 06.00, and neither were up yet. 

Never mind that their mobiles didn't work up there.

5. Favorite series and why? (Also asked by @stardustsroses)

I am cutting ACOTAR out of contention because that’s too obvious ^_^

Other than THAT, my favorite series is “The Twelve Kingdoms” by Fuyumi Ono. The world building is absolutely incredible, and she is the absolute best writer I have ever seen at world building.

The general idea for the world is that there are thirteen kingdoms, 1 of which is purely neutral and the birthplace of Kirin- human-like magical beings (who also have an animal form) who are born from a sacred tree. Each of the 12 kingdoms only has one Kirin, and it is the job of the Kirin to pick the next King or Queen. A Kirin is considered a holy and peaceful being who cannot tolerate violence in any form (except maybe the kirin Enki, who is really just a holy pain in the King of En’s ass).

If a King or Queen fails to rule wisely or in any way persecutes their people, the Kirin falls ill. At that point the ruler must change their ways, be killed, or the kirin dies and the King/Queen follows within months. Killing the king or queen is the ideal because then you don’t have to wait for a new Kirin to be born, raised, and pick a new ruler (kingdoms fall prey to demons and monsters if there is no ruler on the throne). The better a ruler is, the more the kingdom thrives (somehow Enki and the King of En have made the perfect kingdom even though they’re complete dorks). 

It’s a wonderful story and there is an anime too that covers the first 3 books (if you want to give it a shot that way). There aren’t really significant differences between the book and anime (A couple characters who kind of vanish anyways).

10. Do you listen to music when you read? Make a mini playlist for one of your favorite books.

I do listen to music when I read, but it’s just whatever I’m enjoying that week, it has nothing to do with the book itself. I like softer music when I’m reading for the most part, so it’s typically The High Kings, Hayley Westenra, or Josh Groban on occasion (his voice puts me to sleep though, so not often). 

I’ve done some ACOTAR/ToG playlists before, I’ll reblog them eventually or if you want you can just search “Music” or “Playlist” on my tags.

OK, but my bookshelf is overly full and not aesthetic at all (I alphabetize all books by author name and then order them by my favorite series/books by that author). I have 3 bookshelves, all totally full, and 2 big boxes of books on the floor. I desperately need more book storage…

Raising the ban on ACOTAR to say: Amarantha.

She’s a complete monster, the most disgusting of characters, but she’s SO WELL WRITTEN! I always loved seeing her in scenes because like, I know I’m rooting for her to die in the most horrible of ways, but Maas gave her such a clear voice and she was more vivid than even the King of Hybern.

Like, I wish he’d been the one Under the Mountain and Amarantha was Queen of Hybern and the main bad, because then maybe I’d actually be scared. Amarantha was just so incredibly well written.

That was me. I'm also particularly found of eight. (That's my dad's baseball number when he was in high school and college.)

Nine New Disney Legends to be Honored During the 2017 D23 Expo in Anaheim on July 14

Oprah Winfrey, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Stan Lee, Julie Taymor, and other remarkable contributors to the Disney legacy will be honored as official Disney Legends during D23 Expo 2017. Hosted by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, the Disney Legends Award ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 14, in Hall D23 of the Anaheim Convention Center.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Disney Legends Awards. The first Disney Legend was Fred MacMurray (The Shaggy Dog, The Absent-Minded Professor, The Happiest Millionaire), who was honored in 1987.

“The Disney Legends Award is the highest honor our company can bestow on an individual, reserved for those few who have truly made an indelible mark on the history of The Walt Disney Company,” said Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger. “It’s a celebration of talent, a recognition of achievement, and an expression of gratitude to the men and women whose work has significantly contributed to Disney’s enduring reputation for creative excellence.”

The awards ceremony is just one of the dozens of spectacular events that Disney fans can enjoy during the three-day D23 Expo.

The 2017 Disney Legends Award honorees (listed alphabetically) are:

CARRIE FISHER became an overnight sensation in 1977 with her iconic performance as Princess Leia in Star Wars. But throughout her career, Carrie took on many roles—as an actress, author, playwright, screenwriter, and outspoken advocate for mental health awareness. For Disney, Carrie appeared in Scream 3 (2000) and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001) for Dimension Films, and, in 2015, she returned to the role that made her famous, starring as General Leia Organa in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She reprised the role for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which will be released in December.

  CLYDE “GERRY” GERONIMI joined the Disney Studio in 1931. His first assignments as an animator were for several memorable Mickey Mouse, Silly Symphony, and Pluto cartoons, and he eventually contributed to more than 50 of the Studio’s shorts. Gerry made the leap to sequence director with 1943’s Victory Through Air Power, and he subsequently contributed to The Three Caballeros, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians. He also directed segments for television’s Mickey Mouse Club and contributed to episodes of Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color. The apex of his Disney career came when he served as supervising director for the 1959 masterpiece Sleeping Beauty.

  MANUEL GONZALES was one of 33 artists selected from thousands of applicants to join Disney in 1936. In 1938, he took over penciling duties on the Sunday Mickey Mouse comic strip from Disney Legend Floyd Gottfredson. He brought Mickey Mouse to newspapers nationwide for nearly 40 years. At its peak, his Mickey-starring comic strip appeared in 120 newspapers around the world with a collective circulation of more than 20 million readers each week. Manuel was presented a “Mousecar” award by Walt Disney in 1966.

  MARK HAMILL began his career in 1970, appearing in numerous television series guest-roles and several TV movies, including a recurring role on ABC’s General Hospital and starring in MTM’s acclaimed The Texas Wheelers. He achieved worldwide attention as Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy, which included The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He returned as Luke in The Force Awakens and will appear in the upcoming The Last Jedi. His stage career includes Broadway shows and the first national tour of Amadeus directed by Sir Peter Hall. A prolific voice-over actor, he has performed in countless animated television shows, feature films, documentaries, and video games. He appears on Disney’s Miles from Tomorrowland and Milo Murphy’s Law, and has also provided the voice of The Joker in the Batman animated series, a role that recently earned him a BAFTA Award.

  WAYNE JACKSON began his career as a Walt Disney Imagineer in October 1965, and in the decades that followed he would put his technical skills and know-how to great use in the development and installation of Disney attractions around the world. Originally trained in aircraft tooling, he began as a technician and machinist assigned to rebuild the shows from the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair that were slated for installation at Disneyland. Instrumental in the early development of Audio-Animatronics® technology, Wayne would go on to help bring Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion to Disneyland. He went on to work on the construction and installation of attractions and show systems at Walt Disney World Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort, and Disneyland Paris.

  STAN LEE got a job as an office assistant at a comic publisher in 1939 called Timely Comics—forerunner of the powerhouse we all know as Marvel. Stan made his debut with a Captain America story in 1941, and by the next year, at the age of just 18, he was promoted to editor. In 1961, Stan teamed up with Jack “King” Kirby to create the Fantastic Four and ushered in a spectacular new age of comics. Stan co-created an enormous roster of Marvel characters, including Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, the X-Men, Daredevil, and Falcon. He became Marvel’s editorial director and publisher in 1972, and eventually was named chairman emeritus. His well-known cameos in Marvel films began with 1989’s telefilm The Trial of the Incredible Hulk, and since the release of X-Men in 2000 he has appeared in nearly every Marvel film project. Outside the super-hero realm, he has even popped up as a wedding guest in Disney’s The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.

  GARRY MARSHALL began his career in Los Angeles writing for a number of hit shows, including The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Lucy Show. But his big break came in 1970, when he produced The Odd Couple for ABC, the first of many big hits he created for the network. Beginning with Happy Days in 1974, he developed a shared universe of spinoffs including Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, and Joanie Loves Chachi. His other ABC sitcoms during these years included Angie, The New Odd Couple, and Blansky’s Beauties. Garry was also a successful movie director, with 18 films to his credit. At Disney, he made stars of two young actresses: Julia Roberts, in Pretty Woman, and Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries. He directed Bette Midler in Beaches, as well as in The Lottery, a short film that for years was a fixture of the Backstage Tour at the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park. Garry was known for his acting, as well, and he appeared in Disney’s Race to Witch Mountain, Chicken Little, and as the Devil in Hocus Pocus.

  JULIE TAYMOR is a Tony®-, Emmy®-, and Grammy®-winning and Oscar®-nominated filmmaker who has changed the face of Broadway with her innovative direction. Her adaptation of The Lion King debuted in 1997, becoming the most successful stage musical of all time; 24 global productions have been seen by more than 90 million people. The show has played in more than 100 cities in 19 countries. It received 11 Tony Award nominations, earning Julie Best Director, Costume Designer, and Best Musical for the show. Her production of The Magic Flute is currently in repertory at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. Her films include A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Titus, The Tempest, the Golden Globe-nominated Across the Universe, and the Oscar-winning Frida. Taymor is a recipient of the MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship and an inductee into the Theater Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement. She is currently directing M. Butterfly on Broadway, opening Fall 2017.

  OPRAH WINFREY is a renowned award-winning producer, actress, talk show host, and philanthropist. For 25 years she was the host of the award-winning talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran for 25 seasons on hundreds of stations domestically and in more than 100 countries around the world. Oprah is also an Academy Award®-nominated actress for her role in Steven Spielberg’s 1985 hit The Color Purple. In 1998, she starred in Beloved for Disney’s Touchstone Pictures, a film that she also produced. Oprah also produced and starred in ABC’s 1989 limited series The Women of Brewster Place, and would go on to produce many films for ABC, including Tuesdays with Morrie, Before Women Had Wings, and Their Eyes Were Watching God under the “Oprah Winfrey Presents” banner. She performed as Eudora in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog in 2009 and will co-star as Mrs. Which in Disney’s 2018 film A Wrinkle in Time.

Honorees receive a two-foot-tall bronze Disney Legends sculpture that signifies the imagination, creativity, and magic they have brought to the Company. Disney Legends Award recipients will also participate in a handprint ceremony at the end of the event, and their bronzed prints will be displayed in the Disney Legends Plaza at the Company’s Burbank headquarters.

Admission to the ceremony will be on a first-come, first-served basis and is included in the price of a ticket to D23 Expo 2017.

Including this year’s honorees, a total of 276 Disney Legends have been named. Past Disney Legends include Tim Allen, Julie Andrews, Beatrice Arthur, Howard Ashman, Regis Philbin, Annette Funicello, Peter Jennings, Johnny Depp, Estelle Getty, George Lucas, Angela Lansbury, Steve Martin, Rue McClanahan, Alan Menken, Hayley Mills, Fess Parker, Sir Tim Rice, Dick Van Dyke, Barbara Walters, Betty White, and Robin Williams. Beginning with the inaugural D23 Expo in 2009, thousands of Disney fans have been able to enjoy the Legends Awards ceremony live.

Taking time to look back

Coming from a small elementary and high school, I found my home at Virginia Wesleyan pretty easily. I was one of 26 graduates in 2015, from my small, private, North Carolina school. It being a preschool through 12th grade school means that I knew the majority of my class from age 4 to when I graduated. The people I grew up with will always hold a spot in my heart; no matter how they have changed year after year; no matter the friendships that ended or how we treated each other in high school. We were all going through our own things back then.

I learned to read from small, eight page laminated books with pictures, write each letter of the alphabet regular and in cursive, add and subtract single digit numbers and that there was no way that I would become a princess like I had always wanted. From preschool to fourth grade I will recount the lessons that could not have been scripted into a lesson plan or be read to me from a book. I had to experience them.

Gluing things that started with the letter ‘B’, like beans, on a piece of paper with the letter drawn really big may not seem like something that I could possibly use now (besides the fact that I know that beans start with the letter ‘B’) but, arts and crafts nourished my creativity. To be honest, it was at this early stage in my life that I decided I wanted to do something that would make use of this quality. Now, I am in pursuit of a career that will allow my creativity to shine.

I loved to be up and moving, but at the same time every day when we were forced to lay on our mats and turn out the lights, I would knockout. It was the glorious “nap time.” It was not as glorious to me then as it is now; I would try to fight it, but inevitably I would end up fast asleep. Now, I try to schedule a nap in most days between classes and/or practice because it is a de-stressing experience for me as long as I have the time.

We had a small playground that had a great sandbox. My friend Ethan would eat the sand and I thought if he seemed to like it, then maybe it was pretty good. So I tried it and it made me sick to my stomach. I learned that just because Ethan is eating the sand out of the sandbox doesn’t mean I should too. The lesson of not following people blindly has stayed with me. I believe this could be one of the reasons why I have become more of a leader as I have grown up.

Preschool was where I learned to care about my classmates, even the ones I did not enjoy as much. One morning, my least favorite person did not show up to school, I told my teacher that I was glad because I did not like him. She asked me, “Would you like it if someone was glad that you weren’t here? What if he is sick? Would you be glad he was sick?” I felt so bad even at that age that I did not care about him. I just knew I did not like him and I thought my day would be better because of it. This is a good example of breaking the golden rule, which I later learned means “do unto others as you would want them to treat you”. It is still hard to keep that rule in mind in college.

The Schoolhouse Rock! animated series taught me a lot from the functions of conjunctions to how bills are made. I figured out that I am a visual and auditory learner when it come to things that are hard to understand. I even find myself now looking up videos to help me understand the movement of cold and warm air during cold and warm fronts in my meteorology class. If there is a video it will probably help me remember and understand the material, thanks to Schoolhouse Rock!

Field day, of course, was a day that was looked forward to for months in advance every year. I would find a friend to do the three-legged race with and I thought I was the egg race star of the class. The fun part of field day was not just the games, it was participating with my classmates as a team. Being able to work as a team was important because they would plan relay races and a big finale game of tug-of-war with another class.

Just because Mr. Bab said earthworms are a great source of protein doesn't mean you should dig them up at recess and have eating contests. I figured out that you can have too much of a “good” thing. I have been a competitive person since birth, but this was when I took it too far. Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should.

Beng in my meteorology class now, had me thinking about when I learned about the topic in middle school. It was third or fourth grade when we studied clouds and the differences between them. We were put into groups of three and I was in a group with two best friends, Somer and Lesley. They had a fight while we were putting cotton balls on a posterboard because they could not agree on where to place the clouds. Thankfully storms don’t last forever, just like best friends fighting. They had made up before our presentation. Sometimes, we just have to weather the storm when a close friend is mad at us, and eventually the clouds will go away and be a thing of the past.

As I read the Sunday Reads of the graduating seniors of The Marlin Chronicle, I notice just how many of them recount how their years at Wesleyan have shaped them. We often forget that some of life’s foundational lessons, the ones we learn while we’re huddled around a table sharing crayons, are some of the most valuable.

We’ve been an outlet now for over five years! It’s incredible to look back on the early days of The Permanent Rain Press, and how much we have grown since 2012. As it draws closer to 2018, we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for your continued support. Whether you watched one of our interviews on YouTube, listened to the farewell episode of The Permanent Rain Radio, or visited our website for local music news and live coverage – we appreciate it!

We do our best to provide high quality and informative content, and couldn’t be more thrilled with the opportunities we have been given in 2017 as we continue to expand our brand. As we introduce our fifth annual “Local Band / Musician of the Year” poll (see below), here are some fun activities we have been up to…

This year, we spoke with a wide variety of artists including rising singer-songwriters Hayley Kiyoko and William Singe, country duo Dan + Shay, author and content creator Connor Franta, Canadian pop punk icons Simple Plan, Family Channel/Disney’s Backstage stars Josh Bogert and Devyn Nekoda, The 100 actor and musician Christopher Larkin, and artist/producer Charlie Puth.

The majority of our content continues to be local and Canadian-based, and our live music coverage is stronger than ever! We covered Khatsahlano! Music + Art Festival and the inaugural FESTERVAL in Vancouver, and ventured across the border to Vans Warped Tour and Bumbershoot in Seattle. As always, we had a grand time reuniting with familiar faces on the Leo Awards and Lighthouse Pictures red carpets, and had an opportunity to chat with participants at the 2017 Whitecaps FC Charity Alumni Match at BC Place in September. It was our first time covering the event, and a pleasure speaking with stars of locally filmed series Once Upon A Time and Riverdale.

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to The Permanent Rain Radio on CiTR 101.9 FM, but ended on a high note with our 63rd episode in mid-April. Thank you to the station, our wonderful guests, co-hosts and listeners for tuning in! It was truly a dream and rewarding experience to grace the airwaves. Our team continues to be evolving, and we are thrilled to have a great group of writers and photographers (based in Vancouver and Victoria) who are passionate about music and the arts. All of their hard work keeps us going! On that note, we thought it would be an appropriate time to introduce our fifth annual “Local Band / Musician of the Year” poll!

It’s always difficult to single out any homegrown act, as we see new releases garnering buzz and accomplishments being made consistently! That being said, our annual “award” is all in good fun – it is based on fan vote. We'd like to take this time to introduce you to 10 acts whom our team believes deserve recognition for their highlights during the year.

Danced Under The Stars

Can S be for Sergio Ramos, where he taking his wife out of date leaving the kids with his parents. He plans the whole date, from venue which is outside nearthe river beautifully decorated with candles etc, the food, the music and dancing to kissing under the stars and being so in love with one another. Word Count: 1,013 You were getting ready for date night, it has been a while since you have had some alone time. Luckily Sergio’s parents were looking after the children. “Mama” you turned to see Sergio Jr shouting at you, “You look so pwetty” he laughed as he had a big grin on his face. “Oh thank you sweetie, I need to do my makeup. Will you be a good boy for nana tonight?” He nodded. “Yes mama I will be good” you smiled as you finished doing your makeup. You walked into the living room to see Sergio with a huge grin on his face. “Oh wow” he said, biting his lip as he grabbed your waist into his waist. “This is beautiful” he kissed your neck. You laughed as the doorbell went, Sergio sighed as he grabbed the door. “Hello mama, thank you so much for looking after the boys. You have got your work cut out, they are hyper. We have had dinner so they should only need a snack. But you know what they are like” you laughed at him. "See you later boys" you kissed them as you headed out. "So where are you taking me?" You asked him as you got to the car. "Somewhere babe, you will soon see gorgeous" You smiled as he turned up the music, hoping he could distract you so he didn't let on where you were going. He arrived at the destination, it was super dark. But you knew where you were. It was near the river. It was somewhere you had gone before, Sergio had taken you here before. It was absolutely beautiful. You climbed out of the car and took his hand. "Serg, its cute here" you said as he shut the door behind you. You sat down on the blanket he had set out for you. "You have candles wow this is the cutest thing you have ever done in our entire relationship" you gasped and shrieked in excitement. "I am so happy with this babe. This took a lot of planning trust me. You have no idea how much I hid it darling, without you finding anything. It is crazy" you laughed as he sat down beside you on the picnic blanket. "You even got my favourite foods, champagne. Oh Sergio. I love you so much, have I ever told you" you smirked. "Mmm I am not sure you have. Come and tell me again" you leant in for a kiss. "I love you so much, I am grateful for everything you have ever done for me. This has been a crazy years. We have three children and I am the happiest I have ever been" you smiled as you pulled Sergio in for a kiss. "I love you" you said into his lips. "I love you too darling. Thank you for the most amazing life, my three beautiful children. The champagne was flowing and it was amazing. You were enjoying every second. Being snuggled into Sergio's arms. He was feeding you strawberries dipped in chocolate. "This is yummy" you said as you now fed Sergio food. You stood up as Sergio put the music on. "Lets dance" you smiled as he puled you to dance under the stars and moon. This is so beautiful" you said as you leant in. "Thank you for doing this, I love it" you smiled at him as you danced under the stars. "I am just so in love with you. I can't believe this, it is so incredible. This has been the greatest evening, but I am now starving again." he laughed, shaking his head as you sat down on the blanket again. "Always thinking about food aren't you" you smirked, hiding your face "shh, food is great". "I was thinking, what about having another baby?" he asked you as you chocked on your strawberry in shock at that comment. "Woah, I didn't think you wanted anymore. Surely 3 is enough no?" you questioned him. "I mean three is enough, but I am ready for another one obviously you need to be ready, I don't want to pressure you at all babe." you nodded. "I am ready, but maybe wait until they are all in school. Life is pretty crazy for now. I can wait and get everything sorted out" you said to him. "Sure baby" he reassured you. "Look at the stars, its so beautiful. I can't believe it, a gorgeous night" you pointed up at the sky as you watched the stars. Sergio got up and shuffled around for a moment before putting his arm out for you to grab it. You pulled up on Sergio's arm as you stood in front of him. "Y/N the past 10 years have been so amazing. I can't imagine life without you, you do so much for us and the boys. I love being with you. I can't remember life without you at all. I am asking you, will you marry me again? I want us to renew our vows" you gasped putting your hands straight to your face. You felt the tears rolling down your face. "Yes I will marry you again" you squealed as you crouched down in front of him. Kissing his face. "I love you" You mumbled in his lips, wiping his face from the lipstick marks. You looked at the ring and admired it. "This is beautiful" you said to him as you couldn't stop looking at it. "Thank you" you whispered, before having to go home to see your three crazy boys This night was beautiful, watching the stars. Dancing under the stars having champagne, It was so beautiful and just what you needed after a hectic couple of days with work and three mad boys to look after. "I wonder if the boys have been good" you laughed. "No probably not, but they love their grandparents. So I probably think they will be as good as gold if I am honest" you nodded in agreement. "Its just us they are naughty for" you laughed. "hmm true babe"
