I haven't drawn my dryads in a long while. Managed to clean my room this week, so making art seems easier to initiate. I've changed their designs so many time over the years. If you're curious, check my dryad tag, or their names for older art on my blog. I take a lot of inspiration from the Guild Wars Sylvari these days too.
.
Willow the Dryad - She's got four arms, and no right eye. I used to have brands burned onto their bodies to symbolize Vonnie's extreme cruelty. But I think it might be over the top. So I turned the brand into an eyepatch. As for personality she's shy and speaks very little.
.
Duilla the Dryad - The leader of the bunch. She's got the most art, and I've updated her gardening uniform too. These drawings were colored in with pastels I smudged into the paper, since I was trying to find a full-coverage medium I can use on this flimsy paper without resorting to water-based media. Still had to seal it with mod podge, so there's still a bit of buckling. Duilla is an Irish Ash tree, poached from Ireland, and plays with plant biology. She's the first botanist to create a true black rose, which is why Vonnie snatched her from her woodland and shoved her in the palace garden.
.
Malu the Dryad - Malu is originally based off of a goat and a Hawthorne tree. I'm not from Europe or the UK, but I'd LOVE to visit and see a true Hawthorne in person. And to leave a gift for the faeries of course. Malu is Duilla's little helper, and she's generally chatty and sweet. She doesn't talk about how Vonnie poached her though, maybe it's too painful?

Birds in the Chinese hawthorn trees at the top of the park hill, mostly American robins and some cedar waxwings. The trees are full of berries they find delicious and things get even more lively here after a couple hard freezes when the berries have fermented inside. The waxwings are especially fond of that.

Crataegus laevigata (English hawthorn, var: "Punicea" or maybe var: "Crimson Cloud")
When I was a six-year old kid in England, I used to climb a local hawthorn tree - as a challenge. Yes indeed, I know from experience, they have formidable thorns. But all the hawthorns growing in the countryside where I lived had plain, white flowers. However, just like it's wild cousin, in early summer this delightful, hot pink confection is always covered in bees.

Jack Alston, Lord Hawthorn, from A Power Unbound by Freya Marske @fahye
Alan looked at his hand engulfed in Jack’s. He said, coming to the realisation along the way, like a sentence that only revealed itself word by word as he wrote it down: “You’re still the kind of arse who’ll pick two fights before breakfast, but you’ve been desperate for someone else to look after, haven’t you?”

COIN-OPERATED VIEWER - It looks as if it was abandoned quite some time ago, nothing but a rotten tooth remains of the anti-aircraft tower. A lonely birch tree grows out of it.
EMPATHY - Its leaves ripped from it by the winter wind...
YOU - "Hang in there, little one."
COIN-OPERATED VIEWER - The little brave birch-tree seems to wave back in the wind.

Emergency Roof Repair and Storm Cleanup Commissions
As mentioned in previous posts and pinned @anotherdayforchaosfay , we have just been through a natural disaster. Please read the pinned post on that blog. Updates will be added once we get outside and photograph the damage for our insurance claim.
I have opened commissions three months earlier than planned because we need to raise money to cover our insurance deductible as well as hiring someone to remove the tree from our roof and yard. The tree is owned by a lazy landlordlord who owns the property next door. We have told him repeatedly it needs to be trimmed or there will be damage. His property got a quick install sunroof.
I have four slots available across the board and prices start at $150 USD.
I have made the option of commissioning me for a quilt available. Three finished quilt tops are listed as commissions because they're ready for handquilting. Several people have inquired about one of the tops, so now's your chance to have it done sooner than later.
If you can do only a partial payment right now, DM me. I'll write up a contract for payments, and will require 50% upfront and weekly/monthly installs after that. You will then receive an invoice.
Commissions will begin immediately because we now have power.
I will close commissions when all slots are filled or June 1st, 2024. Whichever happens first (hopefully the former). If slots are filled, I will reopen them again after I finish all the commissions. I work fast and may complete six quilts netween now and then.
Donations are accepted, and there are four listings available in my shop with the option to pay more than my asking price (if you add an extra zero, I may very well cry).
Samples of my work below as well as in my gallery.

This Chinese hawthorn was blooming when I was there the other day. I need to get a better picture if I can. Birds love the berries in autumn and winter.
