The best part of having a blog is how many random houseplant updates I can make and nobody can stop me. :]
Tumblr media
Repotted one of my succulents (labeled Echeveria 'Pink Ruby' which means it's probably a Sedeveria 'Pink Ruby') from the nursery pot into the first of six really cute little porcelain teacup pots that I got and I'm sooo happy with how it looks. If I sunstress this one enough, it'll turn a pretty bright red, which I think matches this cup well.

And on the note of succulents, I also am trying to prop this burro's tail with a couple stems and some leaves! I really love how they look when they're all bushy, but they're borderline impossible to repot, so I'm starting off with a big pot right away and will just be careful about watering.

The Pilea Moon Valley that I proplifted a while ago also grew enough roots in water that I potted it today. I decided on just using regular houseplant potting soil with worm castings after reading around online and seeing that one person had good luck with using that in low-humidity environments since it retains water a little better and this plant normally wants high humidity. I genuinely adore the texture of these leaves so much.

First bloom opened on my Ons. Red Silk 'HOF'! With many more to come. I actually made a horrible mistake and accidentally broke off another flower spike that this plant started growing, and it still hurts my soul to think about.

Haworthia cooperi is native to the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The tips of the leaves are translucent and in the wild the plant typically grows partially submerged in sandy soil with the windowed leaves above the surface.

I still keep forgetting to post updates on this blog but we got a couple of new plants!
the first is a succulent our mum got for us that was unlabeled, but I think it's some kind of Haworthiopsis, possibly H. limifolia?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
we put it in a pot and it looks very cute on the windowsill and seems to be doing pretty well so far.
the second is a little rosebush that we impulse bought because we're trying to brighten up our room and saw it while getting groceries

the flowers are very pretty and I may have ended up taking a lot of photos of them.
unfortunately the roses have had some issues with what I think is powdery mildew, so we're currently trying to fix that, but they still eem to be doing well other than that at least.
we've also propagated a couple of small succulents from the Haworthia cooperi. one is in Planter 2 with some other plants, and the other is in a pot that we originally tried to grow lavender in but the seeds never sprouted. weirdly, the pot does smell pretty strongly of lavender and I'm not sure what's going on there

it'll be fun to see what these end up looking like
