Diamond Head, Oahu, Hawaii: Diamond Head is a volcanic tuff cone on the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu. It is known to Hawaiians as Lēʻahi, which is most likely derived from lae plus ʻahi because the shape of the ridgeline resembles the shape of a tuna's dorsal fin. Wikipedia

All trees were taken from this page: https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/forestry/info/big-tree/

taro dog
I had fun learning about kalo, also known as the taro plant. I was amazed to read about how so many parts of the plant could be used, especially in cooking, medicinally, and even the mud from the taro patch can be used as dye.
It's fun thinking about a taro potato dog and how they might interact with potato dog.
I'm also happy to discover that my sketchbook can take a light wash of fountain pen ink and water :)

I had a dream last night about Hawaii...and then I woke up, and I was NOT in Hawaii! How unfair! :-)
