Vampire hunter Kabru, whose village was destroyed when a vampire warlord razed it to the ground, meets vampire Mithrun, who lost everything when he was turned into a vampire by the same warlord. They both want revenge. Mithrun is an outcast for wanting to kill his maker, and he's barely alive when Kabru finds him. Kabru sees the potential in him, and suggests that they work together.

Mithrun becomes Kabru's partner, his weapon that he uses against other vampires and monsters. Other vampires look down on Mithrun, they call him a pet, a tool, a race traitor. Other hunters think Kabru is crazy to trust Mithrun, but he does trust him. They have an understanding. They work well together, and become famous as an unstoppable team.

At first, it's cold and pragmatic, but Kabru is incapable of being unkind to someone, and Mithrun slowly learns to feel something other than rage and pain under Kabru's care. He finds himself looking forward to every day because Kabru is by his side.

Mithrun mostly feeds on animal blood, but once in awhile, to keep his strength up, Kabru lets him drink his blood. Mithrun doesn't eat regular food anymore, but he makes sure that Kabru eats regularly, because Kabru is very prone to forgetting. They take care of each other.

They make love tenderly by candlelight and cuddle afterwards. Kabru tells Mithrun that when they've gotten their revenge, they can find someplace quiet to live together, where nobody will bother them, and nobody has to know Mithrun is a vampire. Mithrun hasn't wanted anything since he was turned, but slowly, he starts to want that future that Kabru keeps promising him.

Mithrun cries for the first time in hundreds of years when he thinks Kabru has died. He thinks about having to go on without Kabru, and the tears start flowing uncontrollably.

Mithrun's senses are enhanced as a vampire, and so he loves Kabru's scent and taste. He's constantly stealing and wearing his clothing at every opportunity, because it makes him feel good to be surrounded by the familiar scent. It feels like home.

sorry to boohoo whine woe is me but girl i am so sick to death of being hungry. every DAY you have to eat sometimes multiple times a day. and while i know how lucky i am that i have the means to acquire food my options are 1. eat junk food 2. go out of my house and spend 1 million dollars at some fast food chain i'm probably supposed to boycotting 3. remain hungry. and i have to make this decision multiple times a day!!!!!

took myself on a little shopping trip yesterday in the city where i used to study in hopes of lifting my spirits but by the end of the day i felt so disheartened. wandering the same streets 10 years later and not much has changed. i’m still the same lonely unlovable girl.

not gonna lie i loooooove all the different flavors of guilt that gunter would have if he gets romantically/sexually involved with corrin.

off the top of my head you've got a choice of:

* guilt over the obvious age difference and yeah, i'm gonna say it: him raising corrin as a father figure (corrin's line lol). it's not *not* a skeevy look. even if they start their relationship years after the game events (doubtful, with his age). personally love how their S-support indirectly acknowledges this with him dancing around a way of getting her to reject him without either one of them acknowledging that he has feelings for her in the first place. mind games right from the start!!! (fuckin. hilariously backfired on the old man when he realizes corrin's even more thirsty for him.)

* sort of related with the above re: the mentor/mentee power differential guilt at bare minimum. this one kind of lessens as corrin grows into the authority of a royal, but it's pretty obvious she still has a authorital respect towards him in every route. i know for sure he'd have occasional pangs of guilt as to if he's taking advantage of her trust there.

* garon's "father""" connection with corrin. >:)c and just. holy fuck the potent hatred gunter has against garon and it bleeding out on corrin in the bedroom. him wanting to possessively mark corrin-as-garon's-heir as his (-and then him having the understandable horror/guilt over that.)

* (conquest-specific) guilt over not telling corrin about his late wife and all the skeletons that would dredge up. i honestly headcanon that in cq he never mentions his history to corrin just to let sleeping dogs lie and avoid painful questions, but it forever remains a kind of albatross around his neck. that's not even counting widower's guilt on some level - he's human, it happens.

* (revelation-specific) guilt over whether anankos manipulated any affections/lust for corrin just to get closer to her... >:3c (what if hell, he's right?)

* revelation also has loads more with guilt over his possessed actions. and then guilt if they're fucking while he's possessed and he can't tell corrin anything. and and and-

* more generic guilt that a commoner (and punished for being a commoner) knight lusting over his liege/princess, especially if you introduce pregnancy/children/heirs as a factor.

* we're straying into blatantly headcanon territory briefly here but [mumbles something about my sadist/top/kinky thoughts >_>]

* more benign guilt over him being obviously older and dying earlier/being dependent on corrin when he becomes invalid. lots of conflicted feelings about wanting her but realizing it's a selfish want when he's going to break her heart by dying at minimum 20+ years earlier even if you introduce some magical shit.

the guilt with the already potent chemistry i see those two having would be one hell of a cocktail of unresolved sexual tension, and i don't think it goes away even if they do consummate it .....

Been thinking about the transition between Open Arms and Polyphemus (technically, Warrior of the Mind is in the middle, but it only happens to Odysseus in Athena's time pause powers or whatever its called, so it doesn't count).

The fun thing about it is that I can imagine the debate they had on what to do with the information about the 'cave to the east'

Like, Eurylochus probably argued something like, "You can't trust the creatures that almost drugged you!" and he's right. But they're out of supplies. Everyone's either hungry, or going to be. Now, they can either sail to a different direction and hope they come across another island (which I imagine they had trouble with since they had to follow the birds in Full Speed Ahead), or to the island the lotus eaters told them about.

There's a high chance they'd starve to death if they go back to the open sea, so they chance it on the 'island', which they eventually find (and Polites is probably smug about. See? The lotus eaters weren't lying).

And because of the whole 'getting almost drugged thing', I can see Eurylochus prints on making sure Polites and Odysseus have back up with them this time, hence the additional (including Eurylochus himself) men going with them to the cave.

They were cautious. They were careful.

Unfortunately, a cyclops isn't exactly something anyone can prepare for.

i think the exact reaction would depend a lot on like. the context. around being physically able to eat again. and in general the state of their body and how weird that state feels, and how they're doing emotionally overall. but however we approach this i DO think it would be incredibly overwhelming in some way or another or likely many ways at once.
