I dunno why, but I really like it when Atem comes back from the afterlife bitter and angry, and upset about being abandoned/forgotten by Yugi and the others (not necessarily true, it's just how he perceives it due to reasons that actually make sense and feel legitimate). I'd really like to see more of this trope, but it's so rare for me to find ones that isn't over dramatised (there are ones that I really like, I just can't remember their titles and I can't find them anymore because of course I wasn't logged into AO3 on my phone when I read them XD)
I want a fic where bitter Atem seeks support and advice from tkb because he doesn't want to be angry anymore, and he wants to move on, even if it means leaving Japan behind and cutting his old friends off forever. He can't go to his friends with this because they're the ones he's trying to avoid, and he can't go to Kaiba because he has the emotional intelligence of a boulder, so tkb it is! Bakura sort of tries to help by listening because Atem's grief and anger remind him of how he was before Ryou brought him back, but he doesn’t necessarily urge Atem to try and reconcile with Yugi and the others. The story either ends with the two of them going to a get-together where Atem and his friends make up, or Atem and Bakura leaving Japan for a while to make new experiences and stuff so they can have memories that are not tied to the whole Millennium Item and host fiascos.
Given that Bakura still remembers stuff from the ring and previous hosts (I like the headcanon where the ring was all over the world and passed onto many hosts before ending up back in Egypt), he would probably make a great tour guide and he'd probably lore dump a bunch on Atem about historical things he actually experienced because of being stuck in an item while being semi-lucid the whole time.

A review of Truce at Bakura
(Originally posted to my RL Goodreads account a few years ago.)
Unevenly written, but super fun. This book picks up 24 hours after Return of the Jedi ends, and it’s billed as the book that wraps up the loose threads from ROTJ. I would say it only 50% delivers on that. It does do a good job of portraying Imperial/Rebel relations now that the Emperor is dead and the two sides have to work together to defend Bakura (an Imperial world) from whoever the aliens are who are invading from outside the galaxy (the Ssiruuk?). There’s a great scene in particular where the Imperial governor of Bakura doesn’t believe the Emperor is dead at first, but when Leia tells him Vader killed the Emperor, the governor is like, “Oh never mind, I take it back—that jerk? I TOTALLY believe he killed the Emperor.”
But the book only does a mediocre job of wrapping up the emotional threads after ROTJ, which is what I was really looking forward to. Luke is struggling with the health effects of the Emperor’s Force lightning, which is interesting, but apparently he’s 100% over the emotional trauma of what happened on the 2nd Death Star. Han has zero thoughts on the revelation that Luke and Leia are siblings (one day was apparently all it took for that truth bomb to sink in). I will give Tyers credit that Leia does struggle a lot with the revelation that Darth Vader is her father, and there’s even a scene where she meets Anakin’s Force ghost, BUT unfortunately Tyers just isn’t great at writing emotions/interiority, and so all of Leia’s angsting over this just comes off as predictable and lacking in true depth.
With that said, the story is still a fun romp that feels reminiscent of Star Trek: The Original Series, and I enjoyed it a lot.
Things that I liked, in no particular order:
- Leia is a total boss in this story. It’s clear she’s been coaching Luke and Han on diplomatic protocol now that they’re trying to form an alliance with the Bakuran Imperials—and in one scene it’s even clear that she told the guys to let her do the talking because they don’t know what they’re doing. LOL. This was a relief after The Thrawn Trilogy, where she gets talked over by other characters a lot.
- Luke gets promoted to fleet commander in this book and he kind of sucks at first. He gets better at being a leader as the book goes on, but in the first battle, he ends up leaning heavily on his flagship captain, Tessa Manchisco. Tessa is pretty amused by his inexperience, but is chill enough that she doesn’t rub it in, while Luke recognizes that she’s more competent than him, and is fine with following her lead. I loved their dynamic.
- Han at one point tries to romance Leia aboard the Falcon and asks Chewie to set up a romantic nook on the ship for a date. Chewie instead just puts together a bed where Han and Leia can get it on. Hahaha, at least Leia takes it in stride.
- At the end of the book, Luke pulls rank so that he can fly a TIE fighter, which he’s apparently always wanted to try—it’s one of the most gleefully in-character moments he has in the book.
- The Imperial characters are pretty nuanced. Gaeriel (Luke’s love interest) in particular is super ordinary—which is refreshing in the Star Wars universe. She supports the Empire in the way that most real people support the countries we live in—because we’re stuck here, so even when our home countries do bad things, it’s instinctual to try to move past it and look for the good.
- At one point, Luke Force heals this senile old lady who Gaeriel is taking care of and who Luke suspects got her mind kriffed up by the Empire. At the end of the book, this old lady turns out to be a complete badass who helps save the day with Gaeriel as her side kick. I just loved seeing an old person use their wisdom and experience to kick ass for once, instead of it always being the youngsters!
Things to file under “so bad it’s good”:
- At one point, Luke is despairing over his love life, so he calls to the Force ghosts—all three of them; Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Anakin!—because he basically wants dating advice from them. Man, that’s some Anakin-in-the-prequels level of romance fail right there. I guess it’s genetic?
- To be fair, this scene leads to a genuinely moving one where the Force ghosts don’t show up (wisely), but Leia does, and she and Luke have a touching moment of sibling bonding. What I particularly loved is that Leia doesn’t make fun of Luke’s crush on Gaeriel, but is actually relieved because he’s acting like a human being again instead of being super detached like he was in much of ROTJ. This is really the one nod we get to the emotional trauma Luke went through after Empire Strikes Back, and it’s a good one.
Things that were just plain bad:
- Luke keeps mind tricking people left and right in this book, oftentimes for frivolous reasons, and Tyers seems to have no awareness of the ethical implications of this.
- Han gets weirdly jealous in the middle of the book of both Luke’s (totally innocent) interactions with Leia and also this one random Alderaanian officer who kisses Leia’s hand. It makes no sense and it’s like Tyers is trying to just check off the “romantic tension” box.
- In the final battle, Tessa dies—and in fact, Luke’s entire flagship gets vaporized—but neither Luke nor any of the other characters spare a second thought for these deaths. I blame this on bad writing, not on the characters themselves, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth regardless.

In terms of your YGO/HS AU, how did the characters get their abilities and roles?
Well let's see:
Yugi Heir of Space As Space player he's responsible for making the genesis frog thus making the new universe. Yugi's quest is to solve puzzles that will ultimately help him breed the right frog. Yami Yugi Prince of Time
Timeline management basically Yami is trying to keep everything form falling apart and turning their session into a doom timeline. Yami isn't aware of it yet but he is form a pre-scratch session which was doomed thanks to Zork's interference causing them to loose their space player. Technically this session wasn't supposed to have a Time player but due to shenanigans they have him and he has to prevent that same event that doomed his original session before.
Joey Knight of Light Joey's luck can be a coin toss for him most of the time but he manages to use his light powers to help him win battles. Light also means knowledge and it's actually Joey who discovers Bakura and Marik are working together to take over their session. When he God Tiers he also manages to make a light saber for himself lol.
Tea Sylph of Hope Tea is basically the healer and morale booster of the group, due to her hope powers she's seen as an obstacle that needs to be dealt with by both Marik and Bakura.
Tristan Mage of Breath Mostly a fighter for the group and doing the windy thing to help out when he can, he's also support for the group.
Kaiba Maid of Rage Emotion has always been one of Kaiba's strengths so for him weaponize his rage and anger into ways to help him win is always a plus for him. He's mostly pissed that to ensure a fruitful session has to relay on both Yugi and Yami for the ultimate prize, but that just means he'll be in charge of taking down the Black King. But things take a bad turn when he realizes Mokuba is also in the session and has gone missing.
Bakura Thief of Life Bakura's main goal is to bring Zork into their session so he can basically destroy all life and prevent a new universe. Bakura is also form the pre-scratch session Yami came form and tagged along with him after the scratch so he could continue with his plan. He begrudgingly helps Marik with his take over plan since he still needs him to complete his own plans.
Ryou Page of Void Ryou was killed right after he entered the session thanks to Bakura, but Ryou's dream self was awakened and managed to escape into the void before Bakura's dreamself could find and kill him there. Ryou sticks to the void and manages to uncover many secrets he uses to help his friends form the shadows.
Marik Witch of Mind Marik entered the session with the intent to over take the entirety of it and rule the new universe as god. He god tiers early enough to gain his full witch powers which he uses to manipulate events to go the way he needs them to. But he gets throwted by Ishizu's interference trying to prevent his take over. Ishizu Seer of Doom Ishuzu enters the session to try and prevent Marik form over taking the session. Her doom powers allowed her to see everyone would die if Marik achieved his goals so she tries to stop each of Marik's attempts to over take the session.
Mai Witch of Heart Mai is also a fighter in their group but she's also trying to help Joey find Serenity whose lost in the session. Once she and and other figure out Marik is behind things, Mai attempts to stop Marik by separating his soul form his body but this leads to Yami Marik coming out killing her and causes a doomed timeline.
Yami Marik Prince of Blood When Marik uses his mind powers to try and prevent Mai form separating his soul form his body it results in Yami Marik taking over and using his blood powers to kill everyone, this forces Yami to destroy the timeline and use his time powers to go back and warn his other self of everything. Serenity ,Odion and Mokuba They aren't player characters they just hope a ride with one of the other players. Odion worked along side Marik to help him but when he dies it causes Yami Marik to come out. Both Serenity and Mokuba hitch a ride on their bother's session but become lost once they enter the medium. They meet up with each other on the battlefield and travel together to try and find their brothers. They end up bonding and becomes close friends, but are both killed by Yami Marik on a rampage.
This causes Kaiba to go Grimdark and attack Yami Marik their fight breaks the battlefield in half which causes more deaths including Joey, Tea, and Tristan. Yami Yugi tries to stop the fighting but is knocked down and out almost killed when Ryou comes in and voids him out of the way. The battle concludes on Yugi's planet where he's thrown into the forge and killed along with his genesis frog. Bakura is able to drain the life form both Kaiba and Yami Marik killing them.
Ryou shares the secrets he's learned form the void to Yami Yugi who uses his time powers to destroy this timeline.

Tumblr media
And I ain't talking Denny's. As much as I'd love to use the "Aspect" part of our title (I have a feeling there'll be other moments) and a riff on planets aligning...it's baseball season. Following "Bases Loaded" with a chapter that has four big points for me? C'mon. Wonder if Oda's been in on Ohtani fever? LA Dodgers picked up an incredible Japanese player who's been a big deal over there. I like to think about that occasionally when I watch Dodger games, though the KC Royals are my main team. At least they're not the New York Yankees...which gets me back to One Piece. Let's do three of these today, I like keeping the cover on its own. Do remember everything that follows happens in the shadow of Gear 5 running out here.
York! Please get this girl an emotional support burger. She needs one. We've talked before how this big-eyed blonde shook out to being a great little contrast to Okiku. Now look at this scene in particular, it's great how cute York is all chapter but this one shows it best to me. Your story right now is a combination of Yamato's story with the bombs in the Raid and that Bakura Town element between Kiku/Hawkins of trying to usher the big monster not make the entire place collateral damage. Smooth right? That aside, York's great and great this chapter. We'll get back to her in a sec but our next runner coming home is another favorite we haven't touched on in a while:
Tumblr media
All the subtlety of a baseball bat to the head. Hi Stussy! You're lovely and it's not just because you and Kiku have very similar faces. It's also because you're a blonde and I love that your cover story was running whorehouses. Because that shit is cool, almost as cool as fitting in that whole deal of the Urashima Taro story being scattered around different sharp New World ladies. Stussy is trying to Bon herself. Not only that, but when the crew learns of it? Hammering that theme of respecting her decision to stay behind and lower the dome.
I still think if we have one more cutaway segment, you have all the right elements in play. Springboard with Stussy and her clone story as the lead-in but through the OG Buckin being with Marco bend it back to pulling a Kuma and showing our gaps in Wano. That pairs pretty damn nicely with our last segment today for one major reason:
Tumblr media
So this is obviously a trap, right? But the way it's framed we've also taken the two people who might be able to pull something like this off in the background off the table. And is that the damn special snail Uta had!? Like...reasonable guess that's how Vegapunk intended to do a worldwide broadcast. Speaking of...I wanted more goofing but the continuation of the Vega Coffee gag was awesome. Type of gag I'd always want more of, still dethrones Nami's fearsome Future Kick as my favorite Egghead joke.
Mars though. It's suspicious as hell the antenna snail is just chilling on the floor in this dark room. Like the idea the gurgle sound is massive Vegapunk brain in a vat. Would rather it be the other fairly popular one someone is about to ambush him with a bubble gun. A minute before we go live. It's a perfect setup if we're gonna flip this on it's head, hijack the broadcast against the Gorosei more directly.

Your Werekat is so cute! You mentioned she's from an au. Can you tell me more about it?
OMG thanks Anon! I'm glad you like her!
I honestly don't have much on the AU. It was a small thing @resuri-art and I were joking around about one day in reference to something that had happened in our RP. I'd commented something about the similarities between Ryou and Bakura and said this:
Ryou Then: That's my cursed emotional support demon Bakura Now: That's my fucked up emotional support girlfriend
To which Resuri replied this:
Ryou: This is my boyfriend Bakura, and this is Bakura's girlfriend Kat
Which then rotated in my brain afterwards while I did a few chores around the house and the end result was Vamp Ryou, Human TKB, and WerKat.
Bakura is dating both, but Kat and Ryou are just queerplatonic friends that come up with diabolical nightmare mode Monster World campaigns while Bakura is in the background reminding them that they are supposed to be writing a newbie-friendly campaign.
I honestly haven't gotten further than that lol. If I ever wrote anything fic-wise for these three, it would just be random one-shots that just show their day-to-day life together, similar to Resuri's Conspire fic Everything that can't be said in four panels (if you haven't read it yet, you totally should).

I don't think i remember or saw your Anti / corrupted Verse for Yugi, could you tell me about it a little? Would you ever bring it back?
//Okay! So buckle up, I have three or four that I have done at random times. I don't know for sure if I would bring it back as a permanent thing, but I'm open to it if people are interested outside of a closed thread. Any verse I have threads in is welcome to receive random asks and interactions (within reason, of course!) It's under a Read More because it got long.
The first one was a corruption verse where Yuugi's decision to play the Orichalcos in the duel against Atem planted a seed of corruption. I know a lot of people like to interpret him as a pure soul, but it's shown very early on that he has his own darkness just like everyone. He just heavily gravitates towards kindness and is generally only wishing harm on others if provoked. This seed of Orichalcos magic lay mostly dormant in his soul until post canon, where Yuugi has more of a tendency to bottle up his emotions. The magic actively caused pain the more he tried to resist it and @atlantis-prince offered his hand to join him. If Yuugi did the pain would stop. So he ended up corrupted and working for Dartz and of course he was sent after Atem and pretty much anyone. Some part of him deep down was aware of what was happening but he was numb to it until it was too late. The other Orichalcos verse was actually a role-reversal AU for the doma arc where a partner who wrote Atem discussed with me in DMs how we would have rewritten the season to better match the narrative of the entire series. We realized that if it had been Yuugi that played the card in that duel instead of Atem and was corrupted, and if it was Atem's soul who was taken instead, it would have actually given Yuugi a very interesting character arc where he gets to address his unresolved darkness, anxieties about Atem leaving, etc. It probably would have even influenced his decisions in the end and maybe tried to find a way for Atem to stay instead of participating in the Ceremonial Duel. In this one, the corruption is temporary, since it dissipates after the duel is over and he's left with the horror of what he's done. One twist too, is that without Atem in the puzzle to keep it under control, the dark magic and vengeful spirits trapped in the Puzzle constantly scream in his head and threaten to corrupt him again. He's haunted by constant nightmares and guilt beyond his friends' understanding. It's not just Atem's absence that's hurting him. In fact, when he was in the duel, he was under the influence of both and extremely unhinged as a result, as the Seal pushed Atem out just like it did to Yuugi in the anime. Overall, we had some very big plans and it was going so well! Yuugi would have had the support of the duel spirits (like Mahad) trying to help him through it, and we were planning to include Bakura since we felt it was a shame he was left out and it would have added some interest (he was even going to be the main person helping Yuugi in this situation if you can believe it). I did a short thread once where a piece of Zorc temporarily possessed Yuugi and that was fun to play around with. It was an exploration of what he would do in that situation, and the demon was forced out. Then there was a thread where he was sent a mysterious artifact (seemingly from his father) that latched onto him and possessed him. It was a parasitic magical item that needed to be removed, and it was successfully removed. His father did not send that box and had a hand in getting the bracelet off of Yuugi. Both of these threads were in my Wishshipping verse with @luckyredeyes
One I have mainly been thinking of is maybe an anti-verse or event where Yuugi is corrupted by the shadows. He can either work with an existing villain or it could be a Bad End, or even just an alternate verse where he is not the hero. As said in a previous answer, it would be more like how season0 and the early manga went, but probably my own take. His personality would depend on if this is him being corrupted post-DSOD or if he was corrupted after solving the Puzzle in canon, making him canon-divergent. This one has not been tried yet.

Do you think there will ever be a yugioh final boss whose fearsomeness rests solely on having a frustratingly consistent and economic strategy rather than having a hard to beat boss monster?
Tumblr media
I mean.
There's been a few cases of this.
Yami Bakura is the final boss in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, and his threat was a frustratingly consistent and economic Stall Lockdown Deck Destruction Strategy.
While tied to The Winged Dragon of Ra (which is a hard to beat boss monster), Yami Marik's Deck was centered around a frustratingly consistent recycling of The Winged Dragon of Ra and Monster Reborn to wear down his opponent's resources, body and soul.
Darkness, while he did end on big stompy monsters, the vast bulk of his threat was through a consistent and economic control strategy that Judai had difficulty punching through.
Z-ONE, until he got to Sephylon, which was a last gasp, relied basically entirely on the Timelords being a highly consistent and economic strategy that he dependably summoned, using their offensive-defensive stall-burn strategy to wear down Yusei's resources.
Otes was literally a frustratingly consistent DARK Spellcaster Deck that used its resource churning to blow out Yuga, that just happened to end on a big stompy Fusion as a wincon.
Ai used a super consistent and economic combo Deck, that just had a big Link-6 Win Con.
Like the two anime guys who do fit your description are Don Thousand (who spat out big stompy bosses... on top of the Numeron Network being a devastatingly efficient control card) and Supreme King Z-ARC, who is pretty much playing the Create-A-Cards from a Deviant Art Tween's imagination.
For the Mangas...
I would like to be generous to Tenma Yako, whose Deck is meant to effectively summon 3 Tribute Boss Monsters, though I do understand if Barbaros Ur and The Wicked Avatar do feel like Unga Bunga.
Tragoedia never uses itself, but its Fiend-Zombie Deck was fairly a consistent combo Deck meant to support The Supremacy Sun in a reasonable Timmy-Johnny style of aggro combo play.
Rex Godwin absolutely falls into this trap for the 5D's manga.
E'rah was mostly relying on a control-combo Deck, but I do get Dystopia might urk you, and a lot of her control combo was kinda just Deviant Art-y.
I mean, Eve did efficiently summon three powerful ace monsters in one turn with her Not Behelets, but there is Genesis Omega Dragon.
We're unlikely to escape the concept of the big finisher, because it's good television and comic story telling to end in a big stompy guy who serves as a visual metaphor representing the villain's thesis and the last emotional, physical and literal wall the hero has to climb over.

Tumblr media
You guys are the reason I keep coming back! You are truly the collest, most steady feature of my life and the only reason I am unwell with it is because I feel I don't give back enough.
You guys make my life better! Especially you! You have been such a healthy ficture in my life, even if you might not feel like it yourself, you are a amazing, beautiful person and I truly love spending time with you in whatever fashion!
I don't want to pressure you with anything, but I just want to hug you all the time, because you deserve sweetness and steadiness in your life and when our emotions run rampant, that just happens!!

The thief stares at Atem for a long moment it felt like they only now sharing a kiss. But they might have in the past? When they both realized these feeling were more than hatred instead craving of longing love.. Bakura moves first placing a hand on the others lower back while he made sure support him as the thief dipped the royal back into a sweet yet passionate kiss, feeling of longing for the other and hope they could be together.
A silent plea for his emotions to the Pharaoh be realized..

I thought about this AU again, and now I have an alt borrower AU running free in my head. The idea: neurodivergent Ryou who is very much a mess because life is hard, and borrower!TKB who still take a big brother role with him. "The fuck you're stressed about an exam? I had to fight for my life against a rat twice my side the other day. Your shit is nothing."
Bakura ends up being the emotional support borrower. 100% fluff.
Talking about AU, I have another one that won't ever make it into a fic because, while I wrote parts of it, there isn't enough plot for a real story. It's angstshipping and sickleshipping, in a borrowers AU (big Miyazaki vibes as it takes place in Japan's countryside). Basically it's found family with TKB taking a big brother role and it's 99% fluff (1% hurt/comfort). I imagined this one when I was feeling down and needed something soft to occupy my mind.

So a lot of Casteshipping/Kingshipping fanfic tends to focus on Atem providing emotional support for Bakura. Acknowledging Kul Elna, the Millennium Items, Bakura's time being manipulated by Zorc, etc.
And that's all well and good, it's necessary, but very rarely do I see it going the other way. Bakura needs to provide emotional support to Atem as well.
For example, I feel like Bakura would forget from time to time that Atem was alone, for 3000 years. Bakura had a number of hosts before the Ring came to Ryou, but Atem? Atem had no one.
So Bakura might make an off-handed comment about how close Yugi and Atem are, didn't Atem care for any of the others? Only for Atem to respond "Others...? There were no others. The Puzzle was hidden away until Yugi solved it."
I also headcanon that because of his time in the Puzzle, Atem now suffers from claustrophobia. He might not even realize it until he's in the middle of an episode and goes catatonic.
For example, Atem and Bakura are in an elevator together, only to have it stall between floors. Bakura isn't thrilled, but he's not out of action. By contrast, as soon as Atem realizes he's trapped he sinks to the floor, totally unresponsive.
Also, I imagine that the whole "total amnesia" thing was more traumatic than Atem lets on. Bakura constantly makes jokes about it, and Atem tries to take it in stride, but one day one of the jokes hits too close to home and he cracks.
Bakura has to backtrack, offer comfort, and reassess his ideas on Atem's perceived invulnerability.

“These lines are awfully similar for opposing forces in the narrative, aren’t they? Well, that’s because the writers don’t know how to write villains so they give everyone the same character except the good guys don’t enjoy shooting innocent people.”
...
................
...............................
Did you know that the core philosophy of Batman and The Joker are the same?
No really. Both characters are, at their core, nihilists. They don’t believe that what they do actually matters and that life is inherently pointless.
What makes them different is how that core philosophy manifests. The Joker believes nothing matters so he indulges in hedonism and evil since...well, what he does has no true meaning. Life laughs at him so he’s having his own joke.
But Batman? He believes life is meaningless...so he creates meaning in it. He fights to clean up Gotham not because he believes it’s possible but IN SPITE of it. He refuses to give into the same sad hopelessness that motivates the Joker, rising above it and becoming the hero because he shows where the Joker fails.
This is not a unique concept. Cell from Dragon Ball in his three forms mirror the actions of Piccolo, Vegeta and Goku. Yami Bakura acts very similar to how Season 0 Yami did. The Anti-Spiral from Gurren Lagann eventually becomes just as hammy and dramatic as Simon The Digger.
‘Villain is a reflection of the Hero’ is such a basic and understood concept that Terrible Writing Advice’s own episode on Villains fucking spelled it out.
For those of you who don’t know that quote, it’s from Twiins Iink’s video “The Fall Of Ironwood and RWBY” about how Ironwood’s dialogue from Volume 7 Episode 11 and Ruby’s dialogue from Volume 8 Episode 11 sound similar and thus bad writing. She tries justifying this shit by saying that the only difference between them is that Ironwood gets angry and breaks shit and Ruby cries, saying that if you swapped the two you wouldn’t need to change their dialogue.
...Of course, this completely ignores the context of these scenes. For one, who says a line can change the context. One of my favorite jokes from the Fate fandom is having Oberon-Vortigern say “I think of you as my brother.” It sounds sweet and heartwarming...the joke is the character Vortigern killed his brother in cold blood, changing from a sweet moment to an implied threat.
The second is that our reactions to our emotions partially define what kind of people we are. People can get frustrated and that’s not the problem, that’s not a negative trait. The negative trait would be letting your emotions dictate your actions and cause you to become violent whereas not doing that is a positive trait.
Third is the context of what a character makes of their state. Ironwood doesn’t get better, self reflect or admit to his faults instead doubling down and letting these traits consume him. Ruby does get better, sees her flaws and admits fault before reassessing and calming down.
This is such a fundamental misunderstanding of writing that I would need to believe Twiins Iink is so stupid that she is literally incapable of anything but surface level thought...or she’s so biased that she rejects anything that doesn’t support what she already thinks.
Either way, the people claiming the video that has THAT in it just lost the right to make any judgements of quality.

Ryou Bakura Headcannons
* I mean yeah I see him as a little soft boi
* And he is! I promise
* But he has this uncanny weird vibe on and around him
* Not cause if the ring, Yami Bakura could def do that but he has so much trauma that his Yami doesn’t need to put in that effort
* Hates cream puffs, not cause of the taste but because of constantly being compared to one
* So he only eats them in private
* Has definitely used Y!Bakura to scare off his fangirls whenever he’s tired of them
* I lied, that’s actually him finally being able to shake off the “cutesy perfect boi uwu “ vibe for a bit in public
* You can’t tell me that he doesn’t get tired of being that perfect
* With all the pressure of being perfect, plus the ring, plus being alone with little friends
* Mans had to have snapped
* Only Y!Bakura knows this and has not only helped him through it but connects with him
* And this is why Ryou checks up on Y!Bakura often, and builds all the rpg stuff and all that
* Honestly despite being evil Ryou really enjoys Y!Bakura
* The sibling he’s lost and the emotional support he needs always there with him
* He’s no longer as lonely as they felt before
* I lowkey see Ryou as a person like Mitsuba though his kindness is more genuine and natural
* But also felt that he had to be nice cause if the evil of the ring
* The most introverted ambivert I’ve ever seen
* Also mf has to be mad strong and shit cause he’s not dying from all the running he’s been doing with the gang
* And all the shit Y!Bakura does
* And stay up late at night doing homework and/or those rpg and museum crafts
* Cause those crafts take months to make perfectly
* Plus mf has been brutally harmed at least twice in the whole series
* Someone please give him a rest
* The gang tries to include him but he only joins to make them feel as though he’s not being excluded
* Despite this he doesn’t feel included but just chills along
* Also, he has the most horrid sense of fashion I’ve ever seen
* Pretty sure it’s a white boy thing
* Cause even think yugi is out here wearing bondage despite the facts that he starts wearing it due to Y!Yugi
* This means both Bakuras have little fashion sense, cause the only thing Y!Bakura has going for him is that trench coat
* Egyptian!Bakura is the only one with fashion sense and it’s sad
* His lack of fashion only affects him tho
* He can dress you to be the hottest mf ever
* I mean, he does all those crafts for the museum and rpg and they have to look good for the museum to want a teen to do it
* Likes pastel colors cause they contrast what he usually works on
* Loves angel cake cause like fluffy and it’s just that good
* Doesn’t have a preference of tea, but tea is his preferred drink
* His fave juice is any sour juice, lemon and lime topping it
* Scratch that he adores tf out of lemon tea
* Squeezes lemon juice into almost every tea he drinks
* Y!Bakura hates it and is tired of it
* Mf took control once just to throw out all the lemons in the house
* Ryou got very scary and dared him to try
* No lemons were thrown out that day and Y!Bakura knows what lines to cross now
* Anyways murder is fine, throwing away lemons aren’t!
* Gets spooked so easily it’s actually hilarious
* I could probably rent forever about my little cream puff emo boy
* But I’ll stop here
Let me know if you want more or who you want

Hi since I've been rereading the YuGiOh manga and having a grand ole time, here's my ocs
Katherine "Kat" Mercer. Also goes by Kat Pegasus in the Dueling circles. She/her. She's Cecelias little sister, who, after losing her sister and parents (separate incidents, all in the same year), she's taken in and raised by her brother in law. Takes off to Domino on her own after Duelist Kingdom. Baker of cookies. Very girly and loves games and things that match her aesthetics. Would destroy anyone who crosses her emotionally but also claw their eyes out. Sometimes questionable taste in men. Ultimately ends up with Kaiba, though she had been in a relationship with Bakura.
Iris McGinnis. She/her. A nursing student working two iobs to help support herself, her Mom and her little brother. Is Nesbitts illegitimate daughter and she despises her Dad. Met the Kaiba brothers bc he tried arranging a marriage between her and Seto and now they're friends but they would rather jump out of a plane into the ocean than marry each other. Dry humor and wit, kind of blunt, very bad at processing and expressing her emotions. Also enjoys gardening. Ends up with Alister.
Maddox Griffin (with fantastic art by my dear amazing friend @kohakuhime). He/him. Maddox is the oldest of the three and was childhood friends with Max and Cecelia, so he looks out for Kat. He works for his family's security company and was trained by his ex-CIA Dad and MMA fighter Mom in various forms of combat. He is a single Dad of twin girls named Dahlia and Dinah, and he's raised them on his own since they were a month old when their Mom just left their lives. Good hearted, looks out for everyone but can admit when he himself needs help. Pretty chill but is also a total dork and is bad with working through romantic feelings. This becomes especially obvious in his crisis of realizing he's got a fat crush on Rishid.

I feel that with Atem as Jaden’s guardian Angel, he doesn’t turn into the Supreme King like in canon since Jaden still has Atem supporting him. He probably does the lone wolf thing and becomes feared by the remains of the Dark Army, but Atem is there to help curb the temptation of darkness.
(Oh absolutely, Atem's not letting him fall into darkness but that doesn't mean Jaden isn't tempted by it.)
Atem supposed it was a good thing that he was already a spirit, given that Kaiba was going to kill him for allowing his son to trek into an unknown realm.
But Atem for all he may have tried couldn't stop Jaden, and perhaps his non existent heart went out to the kid he'd guarded for years who was searching for his dear friend. Minus the whole travelling to the afterlife... It appeared the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
Whatever this place was, it seemed to match the storm of emotions inside Jaden. To the point his friends seemed to trail behind him silently. Atem suspected they were still infected by the Brron's spell, and subtly called for some spirits to take them to a safe place to undo the effects. Atem however was very well used to supporting such a thing, he floated beside Jaden keeping a hand on the boys shoulder as he did so.
His hand wasn't cold as you'd believe but warm, he let Jaden focus on that warmth as he had done for years whenever he felt upset. "It's okay Jaden, perhaps we should find a place to rest up for the night?" He asked, his tone soft and even.
"I have to find Jesse..." Came Jaden's quiet reply, not looking at his guardian angel. "Indeed you do, but that doesn't mean you can't take a break" said Atem, kindly but firmly. "Don't give me that look, you know that I'm right and when was the last time you ate?" Continued Atem, Jaden blinked uo at him but blushed a bit as his stomach rumbled.
Atem shook his head fondly, guiding the boy to an empty house and putting out the rations he'd bought along with him. Jaden, to Atem's relief started to eat it. It was a less than he usually would it was something. The boy hung his head, shoulders shaking, wordlessly Atem pulled him into a hug holding him close.
They had known Jaden had a darknesses to them since Atem had shown up all those years ago. Being Jaden's guardian angel it was something he could sense, it was a lot but it was always dormant inside Jaden. Now though, now it had been released into the being known as Haou, the Supreme King.
And Jaden, for all he was and wasn't, was a scared child who had felt that power run through him for the first time during his dual with the Mad King. It had shaken him, part of him even unconsciously seemed to reach out to the darkness.
But, most of him grabbed onto Atem. The last support he had around him, and Atem was able to curb his temptation to the darkness. Whatever Brron was attempting to make was incomplete, the card never formed. Jaden's eyes had flashed gold for mere seconds, the connection made but as quick as it had appeared it was gone.
Unlike Bakura, Haou was a part of Jaden. A part of himself he would one day be able to face without the temptation or fear of losing himself. But that day was not today.
Even still for fear had spread to the Dark Army, of a boy with gold eyes and a guardian spirit.
That didn't matter now, not to Atem at least. His priority was and always will be Jaden, his days at Dual Academy and the journey into this realm had changed him and threathed to make him cold and cruel.
But as Atem tucked Jaden in, he'd nodded over during his meal still holding Atem's hand, he knew that despite that Jaden was still the bright hearted child that he and Kaiba adored. Who made cards to give dual spirits homes.
Atem kept his hand in Jadens, floating as he sat cross legged in deep thought... 'Now, where are you Jesse?'
