I figured now that I’ve got an entire sideblog just for this fandom, I would occasionally post some old-ish sketches every now and then in between the newer fanarts and textposts. So here:

1) The werecat lady, who has no canonical name so I just call her Catherine (ignore the couch, I can’t draw furniture for the life of me)

2) Sally and Catherine with my melody and kuromi cause I thought it was cute and the aesthetics matched (I will make a sanrio reference out of literally anything and you can’t stop me)

3) Brides galore. Emily, Constance, and Melanie ft the phantom looming in sinisterly (also my interpretation of Emily is mainly based on the Tokyo bride cause I adore how she looks)

thinking about how venice is considered one of the most haunted cities in europe again (and for good reason). but if im writing these wiki articles where in canon amadeo was a real known historical figure who died mysteriously, do you think people try to find his ghost? unknowing that he never truly died, that he himself can see ghosts? huh.

So Disney does/did have a couple of Phantoms already!

The most famous one currently is the vile ghost of Henry Ravenswood, the eponymous phantom of Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris.

His wiki reads as such: Henry Ravenswood was a transatlantic American man born in 1795. In 1849 Henry established the Big Thunder Mining Company and the town of Thunder Mesa near Big Thunder Mountain after finding gold there and stealing the land from the Shoshone indigenous peoples.

He moved into a grand manor on the highest hill overlooking the town alongside his wife, Martha, and his daughter, Mélanie, whom he was overly protective of. Henry was an obsessive and disciplinarian who believed no man was ever good enough for his Mélanie, and any would-be suitor who believed otherwise perished at his hands

When Ravenswood passed, he was reborn as the malevolent Phantom - a deranged skeletal figure who haunted his old manor.

The day of Mélanie’s wedding, he lured her groom into the attic and violently hung him from the rafters. When Mélanie refused to believe her groom would abandon her so she stayed behind the mansion, waiting for him to return. The Phantom tormented her till the end her days, mocking her for her devotion. After Mélanie's own demise, he continued to torment her and the manor became home to many infernal spirits summoned by their resident clairvoyant.

Beyond him though, Disney once had a walk about character in the parks based on the Lon Chaney version of the character

The musical was honored in the French pavilion at Epcot in 2020

And there’s a “roastie-toastie” popcorn machine by the Haunted Mansion that features him as well x)

As for werewolves, the painting called “The Arsonist” in the Haunted Mansion was originally meant to shift and reveal him as a werewolf, so there’s definitely an interesting story going on there!

And finally, per Pride and Prejudice, turns out there’s a children’s picture book of Mickey Mouse and Friends of just that xD

Why has no one brought up the fact that we get a butterfly miraculous akumatizatuon from butterfly that turns Chat fully white (with angel wings)? Not only have I not seen it online but we don't really see Ladybug have much of a reaction to it either. Which is strange given that during this time I assume she still carries some of the Chat Blanc related trauma.

My jaw was on the floor when this sequence played out in real time.

So I have been going through some horrible art block for the past week, not in the sense that I’m out of ideas, but in the sense that I just have ideas but my hand just isn’t delivering like usual when I sit down to draw…yknow? (I’m hoping its just the stress of finals week, I’m so over this semester)

So in the spirit of that, heres a sketchdump composed of both old-ish and new-ish drawings that ended up being somewhat incomplete because I either wasn’t fully satisfied with with it and gave up, or I just lost motivation

1)Melanie getting ready for her wedding. This was actually supposed to be the first part of a 2 piece set. The “sequel” drawing was suppose to parallel this one in reference the boudoir scene in the ride. However the second part is probably never gonna see the light of day because I gave up on the first part (hence the lack of rendering and detail. I just kept getting frustrated with the proportions and I just lost motivation.

2) Hair down Constance (because…yes). This one’s actually pretty ok for what it is but again, I kept getting frustrated cause whatever reason the exact vision I had just wasn’t transfering on paper so yeah.

3) Separate Sketches of Gracey and Leota. Not bad I just drew these when I had no sense of direction and was just mindlessly doodling, never bothered to finish them.

4) Sally and Dorian cause I ship them. I admittedly really like this one! Its just that it was meant to be a full body drawing of the two and I just never got back to it. Still cute tho.
