What do u think about the fact that everybody hate on affc and adwd? Like when talking about how great of a serie asoiaf is they say the first three books are great but usually dont include the other two unless they’re fans. Do u think George shouldve made it fit into 1 book? Or just sped up things a little?

well i will tell you honestly i have never actually seen anyone hating on feastdance. i have seen lots of people blogging about how everyone hates on feastdance but i have never actually seen a primary source hater take on feastdance. i am not on twitter or tiktok so it's likely i've just lived in ignorant bliss of this i am not saying that people don't hate feastdance. just that in my own online and irl experience talking about this series i have never met someone who told me they hated feastdance or that the series fell off after asos.

no, i do not think george should have made feastdance one book because i think it's just too big to be one book! the choice to split it by pov rather than time period is an interesting one and one that i will defend. i think affc and adwd have their own very distinct atmospheres and i think splitting by time period would have made the books feel muddied and inconsistent. like, tonally. people who complain about not hearing from their faves for a whole book are green knights of summer who will not survive the winter that is to come and also clearly not theon fans. like girl i do not wanna hear it. one whole book without your fav wow how will you go on. spits.

i also don't think george should have sped things up a little but i personally love slow paced things. i love stories that lumber and linger. i love long silences and contemplative reflection and things that unwind slowly and deliberately.

it's hard for me to provide a meaningful response to feastdance critique because like i said i just haven't seen it. i can tell you that i personally do not understand this take at all because to my mind affc and adwd are just better books than the first three. that is very clear cut and obvious to me. the characters the prose the pacing the atmosphere. i love the first three books, obviously, and acok is my favorite of the series and the one i've reread the most. but imo affc and adwd just stand head and shoulders above the first three.

also adwd has reek iii in it. best chapter of the series. no other book has reek iii in it. when will your fav have chapter 32 reek iii. it won't. only adwd has that.

Sorry to distract a bit from sjm dunking but I truely do not get not liking Cardan bc of his tail, like if it's bc of his initial attitude I get it but the tail??!!! Extra bodyparts are hot (said as an asexual). I love tails and horns and wings and extra arms and stuff [insert Marge Simpson "I just think they're neat" meme]

But from what I see they're just expressing how they felt Abt folly yet ***some*** of you get so heated over it (also they're not even attacking anyone or bringing the fans down or anything like??)
