Exhaustion
Is anyone else exhausted from all the hate over The Acolyte? Dial it back
Lesbian Space Witches
Seriously? That’s the click bait the internet is going with? Gotta suggest they’re all bumpin’ uglies at midnight, instead of reasonable analysis. Misandrous or Androphobic is more accurate. This is why I hate people. Grow up.
As far as the Thread is concerned, all we know is that “some” consider the Coven’s use of it as “dark”. That’s a whole philosophical discussion summed up on one sentence, provided with no context or depth.
Gotta love the good writing.
The Sith Are Back?
More likely than not, but…. Yes, Darth Smiley (Smilo Ren?) is running around with a red saber. That just means that the Kyber crystal was “bled” by its owner, probably a dark side adept. Sith use exclusively crystals from defeated Jedi. Mae, however, is playing flag football, trying to pull one off a Jedi beforehand, and chose not to take Indara’s blade after her death. None of this connects.
It also appears that the entire setup of the show is not “evil twin joins the Sith to avenge her slain family”, but “confused twin does tasks from a dark master that coincidentally involve her past but changes her mind”. After all, Mae did just go all “fuck this shit I’m out” in Ep4
Right there with you, girl!
Nerd Fight!!
A retcon or a fuck up? Ki-Adi-Mundi is currently hanging out with Sol and company. The Acolyte takes place in the year 132 BBY, but every other source has KAM born in 93 BBY, which is almost 40 years after Acolyte. Take that, along with future KAM denying knowledge of the Sith in Phantom Menace despite possibly encountering them four decades before he was born, and you have the grand battle that went on in Wookieepedia.
Not worth the effort to sort through.

Note
(2003 Clone Wars art if possible)
Ki-Adi-Mundi from Star Wars is autistic, genderqueer, polyamorous (any kind of slightly muted flag rather than the saturated blue/red/black if possible), arospec, abrosexual, and uses any pronouns. Most times he considers herself to be either bi, pan, or omni, but sometimes they identify as lesbian (aurora), veldian, or ace.
This is my emotional support Jedi grandpa okay and I do not tolerate how hated he is for basically no reason

PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING ON KO-FI OR BECOMING A PATRON. I’m struggling to pay my college tuition and buying my ADHD meds, I can't work or study without them and, right now, I'm not making enough money to cover both issues. Please, consider sharing too, if you can’t help. Thank you for the support :)
Adding to my usual begging moment, and again I'm really sorry about this because I hate this more than you do, but I am really struggling. My parents aren't making enough money, me neither. I feel like I'll only be free of this situation when i graduate, but for now, please consider donating. If each one of you donated $1 dollar, it would clear my entire debt AT ONCE. I'm not joking. Just please consider helping <3 Love you, may God bless us all.

Choke (and die): Mace Windu is inherently more violent than other Jedi and that’s why he’s good at fighting
Broke: Mace Windu uses Vaapad as the main mechanism to manage his anger
Woke: Mace Windu is cooler than everyone, and that’s why he can use Vaapad where other people can’t
Bespoke: Mace Windu spent many years learning to manage his emotions, including an especially complicated relationship with protective anger, before ever thinking about developing a new lightsaber form, and that’s why the council was willing to grant him the exception to study Juyo and why he was able to develop Vaapad and use it better than anyone else
Also,
Broke: the Jedi council is rigid and unwilling to make reasonable exceptions
Even more broke: Mace Windu and Ki-Adi Mundi were both the recipients of massive exceptions but this is because of favouritism. The reason the council didn’t want to give Anakin whatever exceptions he wanted is because they hate him
Woke: the council is perfectly willing to make exceptions when the person asking for them is trustworthy and responsible enough to handle them

Im so tired of the Ki-Adi-Mundi hate just because he is not in direct favor of some fandom favorites here:
It’s not crazy he didn’t believe Qui-Gon initially like DAMN that does sound crazy and unlikely if you really thought the Sith were dead for a millennia. This also ignores the fact that the Jedi Council believed his claim had merit , something FANDOM ignores in general because people were too focused the Council dared to tell True Jedi™️ Qui-Gon “no” on training Anakin & how “mean” they were to Anakin to realize Mundi was the one to point out the events undergone would draw out the Queen’s attacker (Maul) & Windu tasked Qui-Gon on unearthing the attacker & believed it was “the clue needed to unravel the MYSTERY of the SITH”.
It’s not his fault Ahsoka looked hella guilty & he believed it. It’s really hard not to say Ahsoka didn’t shoot herself in the foot when she went through all of Barris’s traps to make her look hells guilty, which included:
Killing Leta whole hiding her presence to implicate Asoka while having also told Leta prior Ahsoka would help her should she get in trouble before the operation to set her up.
Leading Ahsoka to escape a detention facility while making it look like she killed guards on her way out (mind you, it’s Clones making this call that she’s doing this) [Had Ahsoka stayed in it, she would of saved herself a LOT of the trouble she ended up in.]
Seen later conspiring with Ventress, a known war criminal with ties to the Sith & CIS. Like given Ventress wasn’t even of interest to the case initially, it literally didn’t help Ahsoka because it made her look even worse. Her only counter to that on trial was they had a “understanding”
She both resisted arrest & then was found in the same place that made the nanotech bombs used in the Temple bombing.
Like i’m sorry, I would of thought Ahsoka was guilty too if she weren’t a protagonist and we didn’t watched that unfolded . That is not Ahsoka or the Council fault because that was some methodical planning & improvising on Barris’s part, which is the real problem or one of the big ones on that arc.
Also, Mundi’s marriage is not the result of anything Lucas did when he was still spearheading nor is it involved in the actual canon stuff. The fact it’s dubious even in LEGENDS & never hinted in any of the big media should tell you a lot.And even if it was, its not a legitimate argument for Anakin. The Council in that alternate continuity gave that exception with caveats & expectations which Mundi adhered too under special circumstances involving birth rates, which is weird but a hella lot different situation then the notion Anakin can shoot his shot & be both married & adhere to Jedi commitments.
I mean really, Mundi is hated for daring to be a character whose idea contrasts other “favorited” protagonists & thinking he is a case of exceptionalism in contrast to someone who gets it way more often than he should.

As if Ki-Adi-Mundi didn't have enough haters, last night's episode is making things worse. Personally, I never understood the hate towards Ki-Adi-Mundi to begin with. What did he do to piss off the anti-Jediists?
This post goes through it pretty succinctly.
Basically, it seems to boil down to three main things:
In the films he's one of three Jedi Council characters who are allowed to even speak, so he gets hated along with the rest of them for daring to treat Qui-Gon like he isn't The Enlightened One at all times and being "mean" to Anakin for asking Anakin about his mom.
He doesn't immediately insist Ahsoka's innocent during the Wrong Jedi arc and acts as a devil's advocate when he brings up all the evidence pointing to her guilt.
In Legends, he's apparently married and therefore he is a hypocrite or some shit even though there's no indication he has any opinions on Anakin's relationship with Padme ever.
But yeah, given that fandom seems to have a hate boner for him for no real good reason and we know that Leslye Headland is very intentionally writing the story of "what went wrong with the Jedi" in the Acolyte, it doesn't seem like a random choice to bring in Ki-Adi-Mundi as a cameo. This seems very unfortunately deliberate.

okay that low-key sounds like a bad idea but what if you did a poll for the ugliest character so the whole purpose of propaganda would be to be possibly meanest to your unfave
What a great idea @leftcolornacho! I'm going to implement it in the worst way possible!
Thank you @femmefighter for helping me pick options, and for warning me I was about to get enough hate-mail to build a Death Star replica with.
This is a one-and-done poll. Choose your votes wisely, and please keep the death threats to a respectful minimum ;)
-Jesse xx
In case I wasn't clear enough: this is a joke. If I see people taking this seriously I'm gonna die laughing and then nobody will be able to hand out emoji medals when the hottest man/woman polls wrap up.

sometimes I think about the fact that when the Jedi were founded, there were very different rules (going by Pre-Disney novels, anyway). Attachment wasn’t forbidden. Love and marriage were allowed. You could show emotion and feel things without being scared of falling to the dark side. The Jedi were powerful beings who protected the galaxy while simultaneously also having families and loved ones. Who decided to change that? Who woke up one day and decided to implement those extremely cult-like behaviours? Obviously putting those rules into place would cause more problems for everyone. Was it Yoda? Was it the previous Grand Master?
As Anakin mentioned in Star Wars the Clone Wars, by Karen Traviss, it was incredibly hypocritical for Ki Adi Mundi to be allowed multiple wives and still be on the council. Anakin was aware of the low male birth rate of Ki Adi’s species, but he was also aware that this kind of hypocrisy was something that would cause disillusion. On that topic, in No Prisoners, also by Karen Traviss, Ahsoka tells a clone that the Jedi are allowed to love, they just can’t have emotional attachments. Rightfully so, the clone is confused by this, because how can you love someone without being attached to them?
As someone who grew up in a religious cult myself, it’s fascinating seeing similarities between what I grew up in, and the Jedi Order. Granted, the Jedi and the Republic were the lesser of two evils, but that was one of the reasons why the Jedi fell to easily. They were stuck in their ways of seeing everything black and white. They blindly saw the galaxy as being either “good” or “evil”, and refused to realise there could be people in between. The Jedi only helped planets if the planet agreed to side with them, instead of aiding a planet because of morality and justice. Whereas before the war, the Jedi valued all life and would help people without any kind of deal or reward.
Yoda was flawed. Mace Windu was flawed. The people put in place to guide the Jedi became complacent and forgot what it meant to be peace keepers. Yoda realised this too late, and that is why he trained Luke differently to the rest of the Jedi.
anyway that’s my little rant done. I still hate the sith more than the Jedi so I guess I’m still pro Jedi, but I like the High/Old Republic much better

On this here February 1st, I'll be showing some love for the 21st Nova Corps, a unit lead by Marshal Commander Bacara and Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi. I couldn't find any other named clones from this unit outside of Bacara, and I haven't written for this guy before, so I'll do some headcanons just for him :)
Tumblr media
The 21st Nova Corps
I did a quick dive on Wookiepedia first, and here were some things that stood out to me from what's apparently already been canonized:
The 21st Nova Corps has a reputation for being relentless and exceptionally conditioned/disciplined.
This is in large part due to Bacara having super high expectations, he will kick anyone who doesn't meet them out of the squad, even without Ki-Adi-Mundi's approval.
Actually described as being "at odds with" Mundi, though in another section was said to have a grudging respect for him.
Bacara utilizes aggressive tactics and is extremely strict. He ignores the recommended GAR practice for commanders to remain inconspicuous in battle, and instead chooses to lead his troops from the front.
He's described as a loner and stern. I saw somewhere he was besties with Neyo, too, and they developed combat techniques together.
With that foundation, here are some headcanons I have for him:
Doesn't talk much, but not because he's shy or emotionally constipated. He really only cares about war and rarely meets people who are interested in discussing the topic with as much passion.
Like seriously, he has no other hobbies or interests. Music? Never heard of it. Sports? Boring. Holo-films? Food? Knitting? Yeah no, he's already walking away from this conversation.
If he is comfortable with someone though, he can talk about battle strategies for daaaays.
Fucking hates milk.
Has a mind for improvement. Not quite a perfectionist, he just won't ever settle for "good enough" when something better is still achievable.
Thus, he's constantly working angles in his head, coming up with possible solutions, thinking outside the box. Even for common, everyday situations like getting out of traffic or folding the laundry.
Jason Bourne vibes.
Has one small tattoo on his foot, will never say what it is.
Natural at picking up languages. Fluent in Mando'a but can carry simple conversations in plenty of others.
Spends his R&Rs pouring over wartime history/strategy books in the archives, with a beer.
If someone asked him on a date, he would straight-up say "why?" So confused.
He would be a pretty good partner, though, if he ever opened himself up romantically.
And if he could ever find someone who meets his high standards...
I also read that he was featured on a GAR campaign poster, and I firmly believe he secretly has a massive print of it taped to the back of his closet door.
Can not roll his tongue. Every other clone can and it pisses him off.
Has the best laugh you've ever heard in your life. He does use it occasionally, but very randomly. Not even his squad has been able to work out what exactly his sense of humor is.
His squad... All are just as intense and passionate as their commander. When they're not fighting, they're training to fight. There's no room for shenanigans or relaxing.
Other clones keep a respectful distance. They know the Nova Corps get sent to some pretty hardcore places.
Most of them have never set foot in 79s, or any bar for that matter.
Bacara goes every once in a while, because he does like a good beer, but he's very out of place. Just... kinda sits there... not doing anything...
He gets hit on a lot because he's smoking hot but has never taken anyone home. Not opposed to the idea of getting laid, but it would take a lot to catch his eye.
Eeeevery once in a while, when life gets a little too still and his thoughts wander past all the combat tactics and weapon factoids that are usually in the way, a deep and vulnerable feeling makes its way to the surface and almost cripples him: loneliness.
He has no idea what to do about it, so rather than face it like he would a charging battalion of droids, he instead pushes it right back down and moves on.
Okay but now I'm imagining Queer Eye showing up to help Bacara find some hobbies and a girlfriend 😂

Finally up to speed with Star Wars's the Acolyte and it turns out the angry culture warriors were talking bullshite.
(minor acolyte spoilers)
Tumblr media
Ki-Adi-Mundi
Was told that the Acolyte was likely trained by a rouge Jedi and not a Sith Lord.
Has no reason to suspect the Acolyte was trained by a Sith lord.
Never suggested that the Acolyte was trained by a Sith lord.
Nobody in the meeting suggested that the Acolyte was trained by a Sith lord.
If someone did suggest that the Acolyte was trained by a Sith lord, he'd likely say "Impossible. The Sith have been extinct for a millennia." Like he did when he was told "there's a Sith lord" in the phantom menace.
Outrage farms: BuT He sAiD ThE SiTh wErE ExTiNcT FoR A MiLlEnNiA In tHe pHaNtOm mEnAcE Is hE LyInG!??!?!?!?
I f--king hate star wars fans so much, and I'm a star wars fan.
Seriously, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
(Also his age was only confirmed in Legends. There's nothing in Disney canon to suggest he had the same lifespan/birthday. Stop trying to make outrage out of nothing!)
