Kakashi Hatake x Gender Neutral Emetophobic Reader Headcanons

I wrote these as comfort for myself and anyone else who also has emetophobia. There are parts of these headcanons that can apply for any character, so hopefully anyone can find at least a little bit of comfort here <3<3

- Kakashi hadn’t heard of emetophobia before he met you, but he wasn’t surprised. People can have phobias surrounding anything, he knows that.

- He would never, ever judge you. He treats it like he would the presence of any threat: priority number one is to make sure you’re safe.

- If you’re having a moment where you’re hesitant or afraid to eat or avoiding a food or drink that you actually want, he is not letting you go through that by yourself. The man practically orders you (lovingly of course) to come find him at times like that if he’s not there.

- He’ll remind you of all the logical reasons why you don’t need to be afraid of eating or drinking (in that moment, or ever), and he’ll stay with you for your meal if he can. If he has to work, he’ll bring you with him so you can eat in his office or have your meal under a tree outside while he trains.

- He would absolutely feed you, with no hesitation, if you’re comfortable with that. He’s already very nurturing, so it’s a way of taking care of and soothing you while also making sure you stay healthy and strong.

- He would give you a mask just like his to wear when you go out if you want to, or so you have an item you can mess with to help calm yourself down.

- He always has water with him, both because he needs to stay hydrated with how strenuous his job is, but also because drinking water can help calm you down if you get anxious.

- If you go on long or taxing missions, he makes sure you get as much rest as possible, eat and stay hydrated, to ease your worries about getting a cold of any kind from the strain on your body (it’s also a good excuse to take care of himself in the same way).

- If your stomach feels upset because you’re anxious, he’ll hug you and try his best to distract you. Sometimes he takes you with him to meet up with Team 7 cause they always make you laugh.

- If you have a stomach ache, he’ll have you sit with him and pet your hair in hopes that you drift off and sleep through it. If you don’t, he’ll play a game with you (usually cards or trivia), or hum some random tune for you while he reads.

- Always warns you first if he knows someone you need to interact with has a cold at all. He’ll go with you if he can too, if that would make it easier.

- He’s absolutely honoured if you let him make food for you.

- Early on after you met, before he was comfortable having his mask off in front of you, the two of you would eat together, sitting facing away from each other, and once when you were getting anxious, he turned and kissed your shoulder while he talked you through it.

“Keep breathing for me, alright? I’m right here. You’re okay, I promise”.

- Later on when you were calm again, you damn near melted. It’s still something he does to soothe you to this day.

- He loves it when you tell him about any time you finish a meal, or get past an intrusive thought. He’ll always give you a hug, ruffle your hair or kiss you for being so brave.

Word count: 820 “You’re going with Naruto?” you asked, searching Kakashi’s one visible eye for how much trouble this would cause. He nodded. “Yamato is coming as well. With the village destroyed and construction constantly ongoing, you had been assigned to peel and chop a sizable pile of potatoes, each of which you dropped into provided buckets of water once it was in quarters for easy boiling later. “Why all the secrecy?” He shrugged. “I doubt Danzo would approve of our journey.” “The new Hokage?” Usually Kakashi was more aware of the political ramifications of people’s actions than you were, but this seemed unwise. Picking up another potato, you muttered. “I hope so. I really hope so.” Ever since Kakashi had rescued you nineteen years ago, back when both of you were still children, you’d always known his ninja world was dangerous. Heck, your younger brother had commented that he didn’t know how you had the courage to befriend ninjas when you knew how likely they were to one day shatter the friendship by dying. On the other hand, some team members were more reserved. Sasuke and Sai, in particular, kept their distance at first, not showing much interest in getting closer to you. In contrast, Naruto and Sakura were more excited about your arrival. Naruto, with his warm personality, soon sought your attention and approval, while Sakura enjoyed spending time with you and engaged in conversations whenever she could.

However, as more time passed, you found yourself closer to each of them in your own way. They all cared about you to a degree but it didn't take long for it to get out of hand.

Kakashi Hatake is extremely overprotective of you and he doesn't even try to hide it. He will always have something to say to anything you do, the people you talk to and your assignments. As your sensei, he has developed a strong feeling of responsibility and affection for you.

He is always attentive to everything you do, giving advice and warnings about your choices and relationships. His intention is clear: he wants to ensure your safety and well-being above all else. This behavior may be a result of the losses Kakashi has faced in his life, making him more wary of those he cares about. Kakashi will always be aware of everything about you.

Naruto Uzumaki is the most effusive and open about his affection for you. He follows you around like a puppy, constantly seeking your attention and approval. He is warm and genuine, always ready to support and cheer you up. He is a constant support for you, always ready to be by your side.

There was no way I would be able to complete a whole kinktober in one month, but seeing other people's events made me want to join in so *jazz hands* I made this! Summary: Cuddling up on the couch with your dear husband and falling asleep was exactly what both of you needed after a long week of work.

Kakashi’s frame felt almost weightless as the silver-haired male allowed himself to fall back onto the couch, the several cushions he had gotten when moving in softening his impact significantly. He let out a long-needed sigh, sinking further into the cushions as he allowed himself and his muscles to relax after a long and undoubtedly stressful week.

“Can I get something for you, darling?” Your sweet voice asked from where you rested your arms on the backrest of the couch, your back slightly arched as you stood.

He pondered for a moment, before ultimately shaking his head, ignoring how several strands of his silver hair fell to land in between his eyes.

“I’m going to get myself some tea and join you then.” You said before leaning down to press a soft kiss to the crown of his head, leaving to make your way to the kitchen.

It was almost a routine the two of you settled into for one evening during the week, a day on which neither of you was swamped by mountains of work, leaving barely to no time to spend with the other. You couldn’t deny that you enjoyed the tranquillity and domesticity that followed after a stressful week which had you ready to pull out your hair one by one, the workload gnawing at your nerves. Coming home to rest in the loving embrace of your spouse was the cure to your difficult work life, the one thing keeping you from exploding after a long day of near insanity.

In the kitchen, you placed the tea kettle on the stove and carefully began boiling the water and kept a careful eye on it as you prepared two mugs with your favorite flavors of tea in it. While your husband would always shake his head when you would ask him if he would like something, a nice hot tea in the afternoon to soothe his throat and warm his body was something he was never able to reject.

As soon as the kettle began to whistle loudly on the stove, you slipped your hand into an oven mitten and reached out to pick up the kettle, pouring the steaming hot water until both of your mugs were almost filled to the rim. Atop floated each of your teabags, soaking in the water and staining it a different unsaturated colour.

“Here you go.” You said, placing down one of the mugs in front of your husband and the other where you intend to be sitting. Similar as Kakashi had done before, you also allowed yourself to fall back onto the couch, your body sinking into the soft material.

Kakashi leaned toward you and pressed a kiss to your cheek. “Thank you, my love.”

You rested your head on his shoulder, further leaning into his body. “It was my pleasure,” For a moment, you closed your eyes and simply indulged in the warmth radiating from your husband’s body, a sigh of relief escaping you.

“Exhausted?”

“Very.” You confirmed with a yawn, one you were unable to stifle with your hand.

Kakashi gently knocked his head against yours. “Then get some sleep, my love.”

Your eyes grew heavier with every minute you resisted against the exhaustion weighing down on your frame, the soft and comforting voice of your husband slowly lulling you into a more sleepy state. You could barely keep your eyes open, even as you excessively argued with him about not wanting to go to sleep yet, that you wanted to spend some more time with him before ending the day. There were barely opportunities to spend such a day with your husband, after all, and you were not ready to waste one of them by going to sleep early.

The solution to the silly problem, Kakashi had come up with was rather simple: instead of further indulging in the argument, which he admittedly found to be very endearing, he reached toward the other end of the couch and grabbed onto the wool blanket placed there, pulling it toward him. In one swift movement, he spread the blanket across himself and his spouse, gently tucking them into it.

“We’ll both get some sleep then.” Kakashi said with a certain amount of finality to his words, pressing one last kiss to his dear lover’s temple, before he allowed for his eyes to flutter shut, giving into his own pent-up exhaustion.

Curling into Kakashi’s warm side, you were the first to doze off into an undisturbed dream, swiftly followed by your husband also dozing off, his head leaning onto yours, the tea set on the table long forgotten.
