Influx of anti activity in the Odazai tag recently... Wish the youth of this day was taught that it's their own responsibility to avoid things they don't like. But all these incendiary posts, as if they're expecting us odazai shippers go out of our way to harass them for not liking what we do? I have better things to do with my time, kiddos. Their victim complex is so blatant, I hope they can learn to get out of that mindset and into a healthier one.

OPTIMUS PRIME

Optimus feels... empty, somehow, every single day. Talking with the G.H.O.S.T humans, working alongside Megatron, Elita and the others, catching trouble-maker decepticons, protecting civilians - nothing makes him feel fulfilled.

As far as he knows, he is fine - he is not glitching or has catched a virus, none of his allies has been hurt and things have been relatively calm. Then why does he feel empty? Like he is on autopilot nearly all the time? It's like he has too many things inside of his helm and yet nothing at the same time. Optimus Prime it is not entirely sure what is going on with him, so he decides to remain quiet and just... keep going.

He is thankful that he can make a little change of routine by visiting the Malto family to see how the whole family is doing, as well the young Terrans. And he feels his mood become brighter at knowing he is going to get to see you again. He arrives just in time when both Alex and Dot are about to leave to get some food and things they need for the week, welcoming Optimus and telling him that Bee, the kids and you are by where the cows are nearly all day.

When the mech arrives, he is met with such a precious sight that makes his engines rumble and his spark pulsate with such strenght it nearly hurts him.

You were resting against a tree, sitting on the ground, in your arms was sleeping Twitch on your lap, her helm resting against your chestplate. Meanwhile, Hashtag was resting as her helm was cuddled against your other shoulderplate, one of her arms linked with yours. The both looked so peaceful while you were humming a small lullaby for the two sleeping sisters, craddling the smaller one with one of your arms and holding the servo of the taller one.

"Oh, Optimus!" You quietly welcomed Optimus once you noticed the shadow he was casting over you and the two young terrans. Looking up at the prime, you give him a bright smile. "Sorry, I would greet you - but I have such pretty sleepy helms in my hold." You say, chuckling a little as Twitch snuzzles her head against your chestplate, and even tries to hug you in her sleepy state.

"... they look so comfortable." Optimus said, carefully sitting by your free side, with a soft smile.

"Both were rather rebellious at night and stayed up watching those animated series Robby and Mo showed them - but I can't be mad at them, not when they are so adorable." You coo, gently snuzzling your helm against Hashtag's, who seems to smile in her sleep and snuzzle back a little. "They are just like sparklings - don't tell them I called them that." You joke, giggling as you look at Optimus.

It is the sight of you (divine, perfect you), holding the new generation of their kind, both protectively yet softly, as a Carrier would do with their sparkling, that has Optimus' spark feel complete.

And the picture of you, holding a small sparkling in your arms that looks just like you and him - the solid expression of the love you and Optimus have as the Conjux Endura of the other, comes to Optimus' mind. He can already visualize it - the love in your optics when you look down at your sparkling, smiling softly to then welcome Optimus back home - to his family, to his Conjux and sparkling.

That is what his spark needs to feel complete. And he promises to make it true. To become the Sire and you the Carrier of the sparkling he wishes to have with you, the light of his life.

BUMBLEBEE

Bee was more than sure he didn't want sparklings, even after meeting you and falling in love deeply and hard for you. You two were still young, busy with your own tasks and missions, helping Optimus and the others - and still not each other's Conjuxes... or even dating each other, in general. (Bee promises to himself he is going to confess soon).

And Bee was slightly more confident on the idea of not wanting to have sparklings after being tasked to train the Terrans. Yeah, they were good kids and he cared for them, but geez, they could be a little bit much sometimes. Just like now - Thrash had no ill intentions, far from that! The young terran wanted to help his younger brother try to do some of the training Bee had already put the older terran before. But Jawbreaker still didn't felt confident, anxiously playing with his servos, not knowing how to deal with his brother's excited insistence. Bee wanted to intervine, but always got silenced at a new encouragment from Thrash's side.

"Thrash, sweetspark." Your voice catches the attention of the three mech. You walk towards them, standing in front of the two terrans. "Remember we have to listen to the others - Jawbreaker is not so sure about doing the train, sweetspark. How was that making you feel, Jawbreaker?" You ask gently.

The young terran lowers his helm a little. "Too pressured..." He answered.

"Oh - no, no! I'm sorry, Jawbreaker, I didn't mean to!" Thrash is quick to apologize, worried. Jawbreaker looks at him, giving his brother a small smile for his apology.

"There we go - it is good to try and encourage others, sweetspark, but you gotta also learn when to backoff and let the others express their thoughts and feelings, just like a good sibling, leader or friend would do. Okay?" You ask, placing your servos on both terran's shoulders. As Thrash promises to be more mindful and Jawbreaker thank him for listening - Bee is... speechless.

Your soft yet wise voice, how gently you corrected the older terran and made sure to bring support to the younger terran, the way you worked with your words to give a lesson, how you made Jawbreaker feel heard and how Thrash realized his mistake in such a healthy way...

Oh, Primus - Bee felt his spark twist and vibrate. You could be such a good Carrier, and Bee would make sure to be the best Conjux and Sire of them all. He would keep you and your sparklings safe and sound, just like you two already do with the Terrans. From that day, Bee keeps replaying that recorded moment in his mind - you looked so precious, taking care the terrans, like a Carrier would do... and he is going to become a good Sire, he promises.

WHEELJACK

The day started great - he was going to visit the Maltos, specially his daughter - I mean, Twitch. But when he was right in the middle of the forest that was closer to the Malto's family territory, he was met with the sound of metal clashing with metal.

He started to run towards the commotion to then found Twitch being held by her sibling Nightshade, a couple steps in front of them there was you, giving the final shot to end the last Arachnamechs that ambushed the terrans. Wheeljack was frozen in place as he saw how you held such an angry and deadly expression on your faceplate once you finished the last small bot. To then change into a worried one once you turned and ran towards the two terrans.

"Are you two okay?!" You ask, worried as you kneel in front of Nightshade, who nods, shaking as their hold on Twitch loosens a little, who looks up at you, extending her arms for a hug "My Primus." You thank as you hug the two terrans, who hug you back tightly. "I'm not letting that creep take you two or your siblings, you're safe and sound." You coo and snuggle your helm against the two terrans, making them feel safe and protected.

Wheeljack finally snapped out of his trance and came out - to be met with your main weapon pointed at him.

"Dad2!" Twitch's happy cry made you lower your weapon as the smaller terran is quick to fly and hug Wheeljack.

"You two okay?" Wheeljack asks, holding Twitch. She nods, quick to explain how everything went on and how you saved them, smiling brightly. Wheeljack looked at you, finding the sight of Nightshade quickly holding your hand for comfort, and you giving the young terran such a gentle and reassuring smile.

"Alright, alright - let's go back home, Twitch. We gotta tell Optimus about Mancreep's activity." You said, starting to walk with Nightshade, still holding their servo. "Oh - your, eh, Dad2 can come too - come on." You gave Wheeljack a smile, and Twitch was quick to hold her adoptive dad's servo and pull him to follow them.

From there on, Wheeljack can only think about you - how fierce you looked protecting the terrans, to then look at them with pure love and affection, as a Carrier does with their own sparklings...

You... protected his daughter. No, that is wrong. You protected yours and Wheeljack's sparkling. Such a good Carrier you were. Protecting your sparklings, keeping them safe from dangers and killing it before it could reach them. Wheeljack was so proud of you, his Conjux. Being the best Carrier... what is he doing? How could he leave his Conjux and sparklings all alone? He needs to be by your side and your sparklings sides, too. He has to be a good Sire, after all.

having feelings about trans Gwen,,, like there's the 'superhero leading a double life' allegory for being closeted, which ppl have noted, but there's plenty I haven't seen anyone mention yet! like, the fact her dad has a trans patch in support of her means she's out.

She's a young trans *girl* (as opposed to a trans woman) living as her authentic gender in a loving home. she went to her school dance in a dress. she did ballet! which of course boys can do too, but often times when people are assigned male they don't get the chance to explore feminine hobbies. It's really lovely that someone, likely Gwen's dad, supported her enough to let her have those girly experiences and memories, whether she was living as a girl when she took dance up or as a gnc boy.

While it's subtle rep, I still think it's awesome to imply a character like Gwen is trans. Trans girls don't always get to have a childhood. Transmisogyny fetishizes transfems and presents them as always victimisers, never victims. They're barred from girlhood and it's connotations of innocence, vulnerability, lovableness.

Not that Gwen isn't a hashtag strong female character! And not that she hasn't had to grow up fast in other ways. She Is Literally Spiderwoman and she plays the drums and has agency and expresses negative emotions. But she's also a teenager, and she gets to be hugged and comforted, and to be set up for a soft friends to lovers relationship with another teenager, a cis boy who respects her and only knows her as a girl and thinks she's amazing and draws her in his sketchbook. That is not a role the media often lets trans girls have!!! It's lovely to think young transfems might be able to see themselves in a character consistently shown as worthy of affection.

Of course, the fact that Gwen is in the closet about being spider-woman is even sadder knowing this is her second rodeo. Lots of us have hesitated to come out a second time because our parents were supportive about the first thing and well, putting something else on them feels like taking the piss or hoping for too much.

Something else I wanted to talk about is how Gwen being trans effects a reading of her Peter's death, especially taking into account the new information this film gave us about this. There's this gendered switch happening, where Peter passes on his usual role to a woman. What's more, he has to die for her story to happen. She loves him, and never wanted him to die, but she's blamed for it anyway. Her father talks affectionately about the dead Peter, calling him his daughter's best friend. He talks about him like a son. He vows revenge on Gwen for killing him. It's a fantastic allegory for how some transphobic parents hate their out trans children for 'killing' the kid they had before.

I think with the above in mind, maybe we can see the subtext of Gwen's arc with her dad in this film as that of a supportive parent who's nevertheless got some biases left that hurt his trans daughter, who doesn't speak up for fear his acceptance is conditional.

I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that protecting a trans daughter is this Captain Stacy's motivation while he's working as a cop. Obviously there's the text that he wants to be a 'good cop' to work against the institution's bigotry, and he displays the trans flag on his work jacket. His quitting the police is a fantastic story beat because it makes a point about the real world while also serving a lot of the analogies going on.

Good cops quit. They realise you can't be a well intentioned cog in a bigoted machine. It doesn't matter if you're a bigot or just taking actions a bigot might because you're working within parameters set by bigots. It's an important message. Within a trans reading of the film, I'd also see this plot moment as Stacy realising he can't protect his trans daughter if he's still playing by the rules of a society that see her as threatening and duplicitous. He's then able to stop seeing her on some level as having killed his son.

They're able to be close again because he has completely rejected the cis culture he was a part of, rather than just decrying the worst parts and slotting Gwen in. She no longer has to worry that he'll rescind his acceptance if she's too trans, and so he gets to know all of her because she can let him into her world without self-editing.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on Gwen after watching Across The Spiderverse two hours ago lmao.

Underlove's history

This last two months, Dispatch released a photo of an idol having regular dates with a unknown woman. Fans confirms that is a member of the group STRAY KIDS and they made up theories that she may be dating him for at least a year, she appeared in photos at the airport, waiting rooms at events, performance events and etc. Some others, said that she may be only a staff, but most of the fans confirms that no, a staff wouldn't go out in romantic date with the idol. Look at some knetizens positive comments:

After the threats started, according to the fans, the group member hasn't being posting photos as usual and his bubble message to "try me first".

Stays are in shock and trying to help banning hate users and warning the police, but also, relived that no one knows the girl's identity, that way, she can stay more safe.

On the last fanmeeting of Stray Kids, Changbin couldn't hold back his tears of fear anymore. Apparently, a "fan" screamed out many times asking for his girlfriend's location, asking if she was there. Changbin and the boys seemed to ignore her for the past 20 minutes, but Minho stepped forward to confront and protect his two friends. Changbin can be seen walking behind the curtain and kneeling starting to cry, Chan walks to him to give him support, and only a heartbroken question could be heard far away from the mic:

"Why are they doing this with us?!"

Stays felt the pain in Changbin's voice and everybody started to cheer for him saying that it will be alright soon, and of course.. Stays couldn't hold back the tears.

A video has been posted right at the exact moment of the girl screaming at the boys, but the user soon deleted it to respect Changbin privacy

Stays at the fanmeeting, said that the girl screaming was indeed a user of the hashtag #ComingForYou and she seemed out of her normal. She was banished from the place and some other Stays confront her outside the place before the securities take them back inside.

We all hope Changbin and especially his girlfriend are well... We wish them the best and good energies!

About Chaos Terran AU Transmutate

Transmutate was the last Chaos Terran to be born, and their birth was quite unexpected. Instead of Starscream succeeding in S02E09, a shard was knocked out of his hands and fell into a very convenient pool of water before Spitfire could piece them together. Starscream immediately tries to abort (?) the Terran in formation with the Cyber Slayer. The action shocked Spitfire. She acted before thinking and knocked the weapon away.

The new Chaos Terran survived but their generation was interrupted, causing them to be half-formed, both mentally and physically. They have a skeletal appearance with a hollow abdomen (indicating the lack of a T-cog), their limbs all messed up. They don't have a sense of identity, meaning no name, no gender, and no language. Their frame is too weak to hold the chaos energy it generates which caused them to immediately scream out a huge blast of chaos energy, and the Autobots took the chance to collect some of the shards and escape. The Malto Terrans were very concerned with the safety of the new Terran but were urged to escape quickly.

Starscream called the new Terran a transmutate and the name sticked (I might change this if I ever come up with a better origin). He didn't try to kill them, not wanting to raise further suspicion from the Chaos Terrans as well as wanting to exploit their chaos energy scream in the future.

The world is a really confusing place for Transmutate! It took them a while to realize those who don't share a psychic link with them are also sentient beings, that these bots and organic creatures are different from objects and have their own thoughts and act under a certain logic that is for some reason invisible to them. Transmutate ends up being very good at interpreting their siblings' emotions and thoughts though the link, as well as express themself through it.

Spitfire felt really torn about them. She wished she had either acted quicker before Starscream could have stroked them with the Cyber Slayer, or acted later because she thought death would be better than ending up like this. She was heavily manipulated by Starscream and wanted his approval, but didn't know how to feel about him trying to kill a Chaos Terran. Overall she was very protective of them though she didn't know how to care for them.

Transmutate's birth would somehow help Sideways realize chaos energy's connection to Unicron. Transmutate is the only Chaos Terran who's able to release chaos energy though it's involuntary, so it gave him samples to study. Sideways wasn't a good big brother at all and would intentionally trigger them to collect chaos energy.

Wreck-gar was probably the only being in this world who felt completely positive about Transmutate. She was simply happy to become a big sister and immediately assumed the role. Transmutate's messed up limbs made walking a struggle so Wreck-gar usually carried them in her backpack.

I think the Maltos, especially Twitch and Nightshade, would try very hard to approach the duo, but it was hard to persuade them to willingly stay at the Maltos. The two were friendly and were happy to visit but would always return to their siblings. Transmutate grew an interest in flying due to the two flying Maltos though, and Wreck-gar built them a jetpack.

Thoughts on their future

Eventually Starscream would collect all the shards and start killing the Chaos Terrans, I haven't thought the whole thing through but here are some thoughts:

Spitfire and Aftermath stayed to fight while ordering Wreck-gar to leave with Transmutate.

The Decepticons were more involved with Starscream's plan in this AU, but some grew attached to the kids and allowed the duo to escape.

Wreck-gar decided to return when she felt Aftermath dying. The Maltos arrived and split up - Nightshade was responsible for taking Transmutate away and the rest went to rescue the other Chaos Terrans with Wreck-gar.

Hashtag and Wreck-gar would eventually reach Starscream, join force with Spitfire, have a cool fight, but eventually be over-powered. Starscream would spare Hashtag's life and maybe give her an invitation to join him, which only left Hashtag with severe survivor guilt.

Sensing Spitfire and Wreck-gar's deaths, Transmutate was devastated and could no longer keep the chaos energy within them under control. Feeling about to explode they decided to focus their energy outburst on the one responsible for their siblings' death. The concentrated energy created a very unstable chaos dome (similar to the one they made in BW), which trapped all the Decepticons and the rising Chaos Titan.

The Maltos managed to escape the shield in time.

Instead of watching them explode, Nightshade remembered that Terrans and Chaos Terrans can sync and hopped in to help. The rest of the Terrans joined as well. Their combined form was able to stabilize both Transmutate and the chaos dome, making it a chaos-quintus dome.

Transmutate wasn't that happy about surviving though. They were still mostly nonverbal at this point and their siblings were literally the world to them. For a good while they would refuse to go with the Maltos and just wander outside the dome wanting to get in to the side of their siblings. But the dome wouldn't be so easy to open in this AU.

Eventually they would start living with the Maltos. Initially they might abuse syncing as a replacement for psychic link communication but would eventually learn to communicate with English - maybe picture cards at first, then reading and typing, eventually speaking?

Nightshade would be very enthusiastic about building them assistive tech. Dot would supervise them to make sure they don't make something like a shooting leg again and teach Transmutate to use them. She's also quite insistent that Transmutate fly with a helmet (which gives Transmutate a chance to look not bald but just like any normal person they refuse to wear the helmet when not flying).

Eventually Transmutate would have an upgraded jetpack and a pair of crutches attached their forearms that can transform into jets and arm blades. They usually only wear the multifunctional crutches. They would also repaint themself into their classic colors ^ ^

Transmutate would still want to go back inside the dome, not wanting their siblings bodies to be trapped with the ones who murdered them. And the wish grew stronger as they learned more about Cybertronian biology and realized that there were hope to revive their siblings. Nightshade would very much support the idea and the two would research on it together, but I need to think more on the attitudes of the other Maltos.

It would feel really weird when the Chaos Terrans (excluding Sideways who were somewhere in some other universe doing child labor for Unicron) were revived. By that time Transmutate would have lived longer than their older siblings. Spitfire and Aftermath would refuse to live with the Maltos and move into the previous Decepticon base, and Transmutate would go with them. They regard both the Maltos and the Chaos Terrans as family and would try to bring them together, or at least urge their older siblings to think about who they want to be now that the Decepticons are gone.

Transmutate wouldn't assume the Maltos' surname though, and wouldn't wear a Terran badge. At some point they may reconsider the name and gender they were assigned with, only to realize they feel quite apathetic about it. （So technically they are okay with all pronouns including it/its but most of the character would just continue using they/them.)

I'm still weighing whether to add Rampage to this AU or not. There are already too many characters. But if I do bring him in - he would be a result of Quintesson experiment and meet Transmutate when the latter got abducted by the Quitessons for some reason. I don't want this AU to be an exception if the two are having a "do you think we are friends in every universe" conversation somewhere else lmao.

I've been thinking about ways how to make the Terrans actually memorable, relatable, and likeable for their target audience. The show overuses the "kids being kids" until the Terrans come off as an obnoxious bunch rather than naive youngsters who real children can relate to..

Twitch:

As eldest with Thrash, she steps up to the role as Leader. She tries her best to be a good role model for the triplets, but she has a short temper. She broke the table on her first family game night. She flew right on OP's face after he admits his obliviousness about the Terrans' nature that they themselves don't know about. She and Thrash climbed on Alex's/Dot's car that miraculously didn't break (wth - you grounded them for breaking the kitchen wall but not when they almost crush your car to pose??).

Twitch needs an episode where she learns a hard lesson to control her temper - preferably where she hurt her own family. It's perfect for children who don't behave well when dealing with negative emotions.

Thrash:

He takes the role as the overprotective eldest. It fits his characteristic as the Defender and shield-user. He gatekeeps the triplets for their own safety and out of paranoia after the incident with Swindle. He would also have the "I know better" atittude to reflect those who think they know better than their others around them when--in truth--they don't.

I'd like an episode where he accuses someone is doing something awful to the family only for his accusations to become the very cause of the episode's problem. This can teach children to avoid jumping into conclusions and not let their bad experiences cloud their judgement.

Hashtag:

She represents people who made everything about themselves resolve around their interests and hobbies. She relies on the internet & her hacking skills too much. She also seems to be the type who assumes "lots of reading = expertise" and forgot the importance of direct experiences. Her interaction with Starscream gives off that she has read things about PTSD--most likely to understand Grimlock's situation--while recklessly ignoring the part where he's a millennium-old Decepticon.

I'd like to see moments where the family calls out Hashtag's obsessions, like the time she demands JB to cry on camera when he's obviously uncomfortable with it.

"Stop being a director and be my sister right now."

Nightshade:

They represent children who feels isolated from their own family, and adoptees who doesn't immediately consider their guardians as family. Nothing much to be said here because their alt mode episode originally has a nice buildup for it. Sadly it was scrapped.

Nightshade's different form of enjoyment is also a way to educate children who has yet to understand why they can't find themselves enjoying what most kids do to have fun, that it's okay, and they aren't alone in this.

Jawbreaker:

Big boy represents children who feels left behind either in their own family or in their age group. His journey in choosing an alt mode is perfect, but the show made him appear annoyingly useless to the viewers instead of emphasizing his feelings of uselessness.

This could also be a way to demonstrate WHY the Terrans must have an alt mode -- so they'd have proper exterior protection because the protoform isn't as sturdy as JB's size made him appear to be. Although he has what it takes to do certain tasks, his protoform doesn't allow him to do so. Hence his desperation to find an alt mode.

With everything going on around the world... like those dangerous fires that have spread all over LA - so far 11 people have died - not to mention the thousands who have lost their homes, schools, churches and fucking livelihood - we have this bitch over here talking about wanting to live in her dreams because she's depressed.

What exactly is she depressed about? Because so far she's gotten everything she's ever wanted.

She's allegedly been financially secure and protected for a good 16 plus years, thanks to Jack. No bills, no rent and no real financial worries. Has allegedly lived in Jack's mansion in Nashville for how long? Years. Probably has the best health insurance that Jack provides for her. She has no real urgency to have a real job. Jack allegedly pays for everything. Records her horrible albums when she feels like recording them. No deadlines. Studio time, mastering and producing - all paid by Jack. Plays her God awful music at dive bars whenever she feels like it, which is usually 4-6 times a year. When she also feels like it, she'll open up for some band. Lastly, she went from mistress to wife in 2022.

So - I need this heffa to explain to me why the real world is too horrible for her that she rather live in her dream world? Who takes pics of themselves "sleeping" in bed - just to post it on social media with a stupidly written out of touch caption? Give me a fucking break with this bullshit. To write this absolute garbage while people have lost their homes, livelihoods and in many cases their lives due to these Californian wild fires! This is what she posts?!

Mind you, the fires started on Monday.

I took a look at Jack's IG and he posted a beautifully written compassionate statement. This is a guy who comes across generally as a cold and indifferent asshole. Yet, even Jack said something about these fires. Karen has been posting constantly about it - lots of resources to help the victims of these fires.

Meanwhile, Olivia chose to post about preferring to live in her dreams, while announcing #BipolarDepression the same way she announced #LupusWarrior.

EARTHSPARK SPOILERS ABOVE AND BELOW!

For a kids show, I'm glad that they're able to touch upon serious topics like the effect war has on individuals and, in this case, species. I think TFA is the only notable TF show that wiggled its finger and made clear yo these are fucking aliens. But even there it felt one sided, as in, robots finding organics gross.

In TFE, you get so many perspectives on the Cybertron- human relationship and I love is so much. You have people who embrace it and accept each others differences. You have those who have internalized xenophobia but don't notice. People who don't care and just wanna be themselves and live in peace. And those who outright HATE the other species.

Visuals: the first half had its animation mainly focused on action. and while there is still action here, the conclusion of the season offers a lot of cinematic shots which tbh kinda took out of the immersion but are awesome screenshot material. it gets really dark as well, and there is a shot with Bee that stood out to me, where he's hanging from a ceiling, and his expression is full of fear. It was grand.

Audio: You still have the same synth wave music (which I like) but you also get some amazing sound designs for animal based alt modes, like Grimlock and Tarantulas. Nightshade unfortunately has this repetitive sound playing whenever they fly, (hawk screech) since they don't have a motor IG??

Characters: The viewer will be introduced to Hashtag, Jawbreaker and Nightshade. They have distinct abilities and personalities. (By now, I can already tell that my favorite Terrans are Nightshade, Jawbreaker and Twitch lol). They're interesting characters and their dedicated episodes were quite entertaining.

The most notable new characters who actually have their dedicated episodes and voice lines are Shockwave and Tara. Shockwave, as you can see from my memes, is a raging classist and racist. He's pure evil. But I really enjoy him because he's so smug. Imagine TFA Shock's smugness but in higher dosage. I fucking love it. HIS VOICE HAS SO MUCH RANGE. reminds me of an evil DJ subatomic supernova. His eye also reminds me of shin godzilla's... an unrelenting blank stare, unnaturally wide. Tarantulas on the other hand takes a much different spin than his BW counterpart. I think he joined the cons and stuck with them is because he wanted equality for all (during a short convo between Megs and Shock it's implied that it was their original goal). He's sick of the war and just wants to survive. He wants to be himself. He does these typical cinema spider noises like hisses, or gargles in his alt mode BUT OH BOY in his robot mode he's one fine fella. And his voice. chef kiss. i think it's British, but can't pinpoint what region.

Plot: Earthspark is gonna build upon the concept which TFP poorly introduced: A villan human faction. TFE is building upon and further fleshing out what they tried to do with M.E.C.H. The execution so far looks very promising.

They have taken their time to introduce G.H.O.S.T for a whole season, and put a bit of effort into showing that the organization is made out of individuals who have different motivations.

Their official motivation is understandable. The "good guys" wanna protect civilians from threats, like bots who break shit. But ofc there are some nasty people in the ranks who are lowkey masochists lol

Also, since Cybertronians are known to the public, it deepens the complexity of the conflict. Xenophobia against Cybertronians ranges from this cooperation to just regular people, who are mad that their planet was turned into a battle ground.

Posts with LGBTQ+ hashtags including #lesbian, #bisexual, #gay, #trans, #queer, #nonbinary, #pansexial, #transwomen, #Tgirl, #Tboy, #Tgirlsarebeautiful, #bisexualpride, #lesbianpride, and dozens of others were hidden for any users who had their sensitive content filter turned on. Teenagers have the sensitive content filter turned on by default. When teen users attempted to search LGBTQ terms they were shown a blank page and a prompt from Meta to review the platform's "sensitive content" restrictions, which discuss why the app hides "sexually explicit" content. Meta reversed the restrictions on LGBTQ search terms after User Mag reached out for comment, saying that it was in error. “These search terms and hashtags were mistakenly restricted,” a Meta spokesperson said. “It’s important to us that all communities feel safe and welcome on Meta apps, and we do not consider LGBTQ+ terms to be sensitive under our policies.”

Under mounting pressure from lawmakers and amidst a moral panic about young people’s social media use, last year, Meta introduced a new set of “sensitive content” restrictions across Instagram, Facebook, and Threads, aimed at teenagers. "We will start to hide more types of content for teens on Instagram and Facebook," the company said at the time. In September, Meta doubled down, forcing users under the age of 18 to use "Instagram Teen Accounts," a setting which could only be reversed by a parent or guardian. The goal of this change, in Meta's words, was to "limit … the content [teenagers] see, and help ensure their time is well spent.”

These changes quickly resulted in LGBTQ+ content getting restricted across Meta apps. Meanwhile, heterosexual content, tradwife content, and content featuring straight cisgender couples (even those engaged in romantic activities) has flourished. "Meta categorizing LGBTQ hashtags as ‘sensitive content’ is an alarming example of censorship that should concern everyone,” said Leanna Garfield, social media safety program manager at GLAAD.

Some LGBTQ teenagers and content creators attempted to sound the alarm about the issue, but their posts failed to get traction. For years, LGBTQ creators on Instagram have suffered shadow bans and had their content labeled as “non-recommendable.” The restrictions on searches, however, are more recent, coming into effect in the past few months. Trump has pledged to roll back protections for LGBTQ students, and right wing groups like the Heritage Foundation are working together with Democrats to dismantle civil liberties and restrict young people from accessing social media under dangerous proposed legislation such as the very poorly named Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). KOSA co-sponsor Rep. Marsha Blackburn claimed that it’s essential to restrict teens access to social media to “protect minor children from the transgender [sic] in this culture and that influence.” One of the most prominent voices pushing legislation like KOSA and boosting policies like Meta's sensitive content restrictions is NYU Stern School of Business professor Jonathan Haidt, whose dubious book, The Anxious Generation falsely ties social media use to teen mental health issues in order to push a moral panic about kids and technology use. This moral panic is then used to justify harmful laws that restrict speech and civil liberties online, and do immense harm to marginalized LGBTQ youth. In an interview he did with PBS, Haidt boosted a false fringe conspiracy about trans youth known as social contagion or “rapid onset gender dysphoria” theory. Basically: Instagram is turning your kids gay and trans. In December, Barack Obama recommended the book at the top of his annual reading list.

Mark Zuckerberg recently dined at Trump's Mar-a-Lago club in Florida and is seeking an “active role” in Trump tech policy as the two are "now warming to each other," according to The Guardian. The increased censorship of LGBTQ content online is already having devastating effects on young people. For queer teens who rely on social media to connect with their peers and find support, these policies are cutting off vital access to community and representation.

Taylor Lorenz reports on how Meta-owned Instagram blocked teens from searching LGBTQ+-related content due to the app’s sensitive content policy settings. Such policies are designed to suppress LGBTQ+ content under the false guise of “protecting children.”

Some of my notes from watching Zeta Gundam very, very slowly (up until ep. 34)

(Needless to say that it contains spoilers and that I get very annoying about the female characters because that's my thing)

-I'm 6 episodes into Zeta Gundam and I still don't know what to make of Kamille. On the other hand, it took me a look at some screenshots of SD Gundam Kamille to know that I'd die for him.

-I was very surprised to see Kamille openly declaring that he's autistic. Why don't we have more of that?

-20 episodes in, now (watching v. slowly). So... Z isn't exactly that great about women... right? 0079 left me gladly surprised on that front, but my expectations were super low. Maybe I should turn off that part of my brain while watching this.

- I hate to say this about a female character but so far Beltorchika is so annoying. Wake up, sis! You can't fix the dude, you barely know him! He's not opening up to you, and please leave the 15 year old out of your problems with Amuro!

-"I learned karate and how to make Mobile Suits to become a man!". Kamille isn't beating the transmasc allegations /J

-It makes sense that Kamille resents her mother for apparently caring more about her job than her family, but this does speak more of that general anxiety about women in the workplace than of anything else. Might be a common cliché at the time, still don't like it.

-She's allowed to be a terrible mom, but maybe for other more nuanced reasons? Also the fact that Kamille mentions that Fa made things that his mother should've done for him... it's gonna be really awkward if Kamille/Fa is the endgame ship.

-So, if both Kamille's parents were responsible for the development of the MK-II, then when he fights in it, one can say that his parents are still protecting him. On the other hand, we could also consider the MK-II as Kamille's little br- *gets shot*

-Ep 21: The titular Zeta Gundam appears. -Male Feminist guy is creepy. -Bright has the vibes of an exhausted High School teacher. - Fa rescues Kamille in space. This two are soo endgame

-Bright: Emma, you should do something about Kamille and Fa. Emma: Nah. I'm not Kamille's mom, besides, teens like to make drama as a form of recreation.

Emma is so cool. (Also, she and Reccoa should kiss)

-If there's a fanfic out there about Bright Noah being a clueless high school teacher/principal, please let me know. That's like the perfect AU for him.

-Girls can also fuck up in the battlefield and get slapped as a form of military disciplinary tactic! Hashtag equality. (But seriously though, I wasn't expecting Fa to become a pilot. Interesting).

-In the comment section of the dubious site where I'm watching this show, people are saying that Zeta is ahead of its time. And yeah, in many aspects it is. On the other hand it took Gundam 40+ years to have a girl protag. Suletta Mercury should've been invented like 30 or 20 years ago.

-Meanwhile, Scirocco is high-key trying to get Jerid killed and failing. They're both huge losers.

-Also, Kamille is slowly and steadily growing on me.

-Kamille becomes more mature and thoughtful. - The story brings Katz to be the new impulsive boy who fucks everything up. -Katz matures after a couple of episodes. -Now there's a pair of annoying kids whose only purpose is to awake Fa's maternal instinct (???) It never ends!

-On the other hand, I did enjoy those five seconds where Quattro was babysitting those kids. Would've preferred more of that.

-I love that in-universe everyone refers to teenage drama as "recreation". Even Kamille at some point admits that he and Fa are engaging in such recreation. At least their relationship is evolving in a healthier way than Amuro and Fraw's in 0079.

-Between Reccoa possibly having feelings for Scirocco and Mauar protecting Jerid, it's evident that in this universe everyone suffers from having Bad Taste in Men. Y'all could do better, queens!

-Also everyone punches and slaps each other so much. And it's not a love language. It's just another language that everyone just use. (There's even a punch compilation in tumblr, it's hilarious).

-I really hope to eventually get an explanation of what's up with those kids that Char brought from Earth, because so far their only purpose is to fuel Fa's maternal instincts.

-Episode 33! We're finally meeting those funny guys from Axis. This is also full of high quality Char moments.

-*Char has flashbacks of him playing with toddler!Mineva and also gets angry when he realizes how much they have manipulated her* Aww, daddy Char.

* Char unnecesarily beats the crap out of Kamille, five minutes later* Hey! What the hell, Char?!

-Char: "I have never betrayed anyone in my entire life! Ever!

lol, a classic.

-Help! Char is starting to have a similar effect on me as the one that other horrible and pathetic fictional white men have on tumblrinas.

-Seriously though, if UC Gundam were more popular in the western hemisphere, Char Aznable would totally be a Tumblr Sexyman. *shudders*

-Me: I see, so Reccoa actually has a death wish, she recklessly jumps into the battlefield on a desperate attempt to find her own demise, but she doesn't know it.

Z Gundam: Actually Scirocco is brainwashing her with space magic and she's sexually frustrated with Char.

-Reccoa has so many death flags that I'm always surprised whenever she survives. Her fake "death" and its consequences were really well done. I particularly liked Kamille's reaction.

-Maybe the most effective death flag in Zeta is being close to Jerid. That's more letal than the birthday song or being near Amuro's range.

Finally finished the new Earthspark episodes and I’ll definitely voice my thoughts on it soon. However, there have been a few complaints I’ve seen on here that genuinely confuse me pertaining to how this fandom interprets this show regarding plot, pacing, character arcs, and target audiences. I saw one user already dislike the fact that the Maltos are the weakest point of this show mostly because of the more slice-of-life episodes that lack that TRANSFORMERS vibe such as conflicts with the war and its lore, consequences of these conflicts, and more. This person rightfully acknowledges that ES was not meant for people their age, and that right there is the point. This entire season was in of itself exposition, to put it in literary terms. It laid the foundations for future conflict, purpose, and development. If you think about it in a timeline of our episodes, we only just met Nightshade, Hashtag, and Jawbreaker not that long ago. It was only JUST NOW that Jawbreaker got an alt-mode. This show is partially if not majorly about growth. The audience grows up with these characters in an initially healthy learning and family environment. The Terrans are discovering the world we as an older audience on this app know already. They were also initially heavily protected to keep them away from Ghost. That healthy and secluded environment leads to discovery and family development. It is only later that this bubble starts to burst, and the more they are exposed to the war’s consequences, the further they stray from childhood innocence. Innocence that we as the audience believes deserves to be protected, but won’t be. It’s easy to be frustrated or bored with the more casual episodes. The amount of secondhand embarrassment I got watching the Terrans break boundaries or go about things I wouldn’t is immense. However, quite frankly, that’s the point. They’re children. Those around them attempted to protect them from consequences of a war that did not involve them. Unfortunately, they fail by the end of the season, which goes into my second point.

A lot of people think some character encounters or developments here were too rushed, but this goes back to my statements about the plot pyramid. This was intentional because it is the exposition. If anyone remembers their elementary school English lessons, they would remember exposition introduces characters, conflict, setting, etc. That was the purpose of this season. We have hints and undertones that were not answered this season, but if all of the conflict was resolved in the first few chapters of a book, it wouldn’t be so entertaining now would it? The things that were not resolved or touched upon this season are likely going to be in the future. Starscream’s time to shine was brief, which a lot of people disliked apparently, but there are clear indications his hatred and resistance against Megatron persist. A lot if not all of the Decepticons heavily loathe Megatron and view him as a traitor. They came to help the Maltos at the end of the season to help save their kind, NOT to resolve this conflict with Megatron. Thrash even in this new chunk of episodes is clearly frustrated that they inherited a war that had nothing to do with them, and this is not the first time he’s said it. That wasn’t resolved this season. We finally got Orion Pax lore! That didn’t get developed this season. All of these things are obviously going to reappear in the seasons to come. That’s how plot works. We got the exposition of a brand new show with new concepts and new takes on old ones. To cram deeply fleshed ideas, arcs, and attempts to satisfy everyone while still catering to kids on Nickelodeon is HARD.

You may be asking where I think these loose ends will go. I think we will probably get more inner Cybertronian conflict next season. With the fallout of Mandroid and Ghost as an organization, humans as the antagonists may potentially shift away from focus. The dust had settled and left Autobots and Decepticons, who still heavily disagree, all together. There is clear resentment from the Decepticons to Megatron, but there is also open hatred between them and Optimus who, to their knowledge, orchestrated and justified their imprisonments. Not only that, but the classic Autobot vs. Decepticon hatred by affiliation remains. I believe the war will be discussed more in the next season along with inner Cybertronian conflict. While this season covered a lot of hatred to the Terrans from people outside of their species, it is possible it will also cover the struggle of receiving hatred or judgement from people you would hope to find kinship with. This will probably be where that childhood innocence dissipates and more individual growing up amidst war aftermath takes place. I’m not sure, but what I’m trying to say is a lot of you are impatient and are asking a whole lot from a show’s first season and then getting upset or irritated when things don’t happen right away. It’s called patience. We are in the exposition. Let them cook for Christ’s sake.
