Now I'm curious, what's at the top of your drug hierarchy?

well, this hierarchy is based on a drug's acceptability/appeal to me personally.

so at the top would probably have to be alcohol and caffeine since i partake in these regularly. i guess i'd put tobacco/nicotine here too. i don't find cigarettes very appealing but i could smoke a cigar on occasion. also while i don't /personally/ care for cigarettes i can appreciate their aesthetic appeal. but these are all socially acceptable so i don't think it's what you're really interested in.

below this tier we have an upper-middle tier. this is where you'd find cocaine, ecstasy, speed, etc. these drugs are appealing to me because they seem to fill people with life. they make people bolder, more energetic, more euphoric, exuberant, /alive/, etc. i have no desire to do any drugs but if i ever did these would probably be at the top of my list. if i'm going to do a drug i want it to make me even more alive. to die of a drug-induced heart attack has a romantic appeal. just being filled with /so much/ life that your heart can't even take it. wild stuff.

lower-middle tier is where i'd put hallucinogenic drugs and stuff like meth and pcp and shit like that. i don't trust hallucinogens. honestly i'd probably even put them at the bottommost tier. but i'm putting them here because i think they have /some/ potential for spiritual insight/novel perspectives, but it's minimal. i think 90% of the "spiritual insight" people /think/ they get from hallucinogens is really bullshit fed to them from a kakodemon. i know too many people who had a trip and then became the worst kind of person. it's more common than not. also, i am /somewhat/ curious about them because i already have visions and stuff sober so i wonder how they would affect me. and then meth and pcp are similar to the drugs in the upper-middle tier but they're a tad too much and too ugly too often.

then we have the bottommost tier which, as i mentioned, is where i'd put weed, heroin, fentanyl, ketamine, prescription opioids, etc. these are just really low-energy drugs that give me evil vibes. they reek of death, decay, atrophy, and emptiness.

i dont know where to scream about this but i honestly feel some sort of weird relief that r//nbow high is declining. i knoooow i know it's popular and they've been such high quality dolls and collectors have loved them and some(?) people like the web series (or do they? ive heard mixed things but ive never had any interest in watching it) but oh god. i just. sometimes it takes me awhile to appreciate modern doll lines and their aesthetics but i just could not get past their weird fish faces and in general i do not like monochrome styling themes. i realize their designers did so much with their concepts, i realize a lot of heart and effort went into them, and i completely understand why so many people were floored with the quality of the dolls and the rate at which they were being put out. even though the prices kept rising for them, you could at least see where your money was going, like they were always so well-constructed and doing new things. but like. at the end of the day. on a very basic level they were just never all that aesthetically pleasing to me and it was kind of maddening to see all that potential going towards a line of dolls that had just... like... facial proportions i could not get past lol.

i have very complex thoughts on this but one funny realisation about being a trans woman and a lesbian and wanting games and stories about women like me being loved, is that like struggle to find good gay media makes you realise how like.... straight women want better too? like the vast majority of stuff aimed at girls and women is sorta just insulting? like i modded Harvest moon so i can be gay but trying to play the default "girls" version just sort of felt like it didn't respect the player at all. like "here's some men, be happy with it".

i’ve never seen anyone design anything the way the destiny franchise designs aliens, and i think the reason their alien designs are so unique and interesting is because they’re just completely unafraid of making them ugly.

other media wants their aliens and monsters to have aesthetic appeal above anything else; even if something is meant to horrify you, they want it to be good to look at. anything that makes a design unattractive past a certain point is usually left on the cutting room floor. and this is an understandable practice! humans are a very aesthetically inclined species!

but look at the aliens in destiny!

they’ve got weird stuff going on! cabal faces straight up look like a scrotum! psions are soooo egg-shaped and malnourished looking, and hive have a bad case of muppet mouth on top of looking like human skeletons with bug parts grafted on. eliksni are gangly and awkwardly shaped and in-game they are constantly hunched over.

a lot of the times (except for with the hive), these features are covered with armor and helmets, and i think that's pretty unfortunate because the base designs for these guys are so interesting to look at!!!

the same principals go for unique enemies like rhulk and nezarec. they're ugly!!! and that's the appealing part!!! rhulk's head is long and almost perfectly cylindrical and his feet can't decide if they're hooves or paws; nezarec has a face like a rotary phone and a second, vestigial thumb, as well as weirdly shaped monkey feet.

and it would be one thing if these features were presented to evoke horror -- but the thing is, i would argue, they're not. they're just presented. it's never a matter of "look how scary this thing is." even though we meet most of these aliens as enemies, their looks are allowed to just... be what they are. they don't look like that to scare us. they just look like that.

and i think that's a really fascinating lesson in monster/alien design! i love monster designs that are objectively appealing and nice to look at, but i honestly wish more media did things like this, because it makes the universe so interesting!

When I think of Aphrodite in the 7th I think of “the birth of Venus” painting where she’s emerging out of the claim and everyone around her is in awe, that’s what this placement is like.

Venus in 7th house: usually have such beautiful personalities. Even if they aren’t physically attractive they have such charming personalities that they are still seen as very attractive. These people are also really funny and good at engaging the opposite sex (or the same whatever you’re into) they attract so much attention from others romantically even if they are the least attractive in the room. Pisces moons: they get known for their beauty pretty often. I feel like everyone has a crush on them ESPECIALLY the men with this placement. The men with this placement tend to sweep women away like a fictional character, they’re usually amazing with sweet talk. They also tend to look otherworldly too and others can get really obsessed with them. (Bjorn Anderson was a Pisces moon).

Cancer moons: they are all so pretty and feminine 🥺 they usually have a very doll-like appearance and a very warm aura. They know how to make others feel at home which is really attractive. They usually have soft feminine features and have a natural glow to them like the moon! They have such a motherly energy to them you just want them to mother you. Also very emotionally intelligent. These are amazing people to go to when you just need to vent, they’re the best listeners and comforters. Their softness attracts so many people to them.
