i watched it begin again
pairing: reader x ben chilwell summary: ever since your last relationship ended badly, you've lost all hope in love. until your best friend convinces you to go on a date with her bf's friend ben warnings: none word count: 2.7k
author's note: this is just a short little something inspired by one of my favourite songs, begin again by taylor swift ❤️ and bc the thought of a first date with ben is just so perfect to me 😌
-
As you sit in an Uber on your way to Marylebone, fidgeting nervously with the hem of your dress, you can’t help but wonder how you got here.
It took a lot of convincing - to be precise, three glasses of white wine, some chocolates, and the agreement to watch your favourite movie on Netflix that night - for your best friend to convince you to go on this date last weekend.
Mia, one of your closest friends since you were kids, knows better than anyone how reluctant you’ve been to return to dating life ever since your last relationship ended catastrophically. Your last boyfriend, Jack, who had also been your first serious one, had completely broken your heart eight months ago.
After two years together, just when you were beginning to think about taking the next step and move in with him, you caught him cheating on you with in his flat with a coworker he had sworn was just a friend. You were so completely devastated by this betrayal and the sudden end of your relationship that you haven’t so much as downloaded a dating app or talked to a guy at a bar since.
Your friends have been loving and supportive of your decision to stay single for a while, but ever since Mia started seeing her boyfriend Harvey a couple months ago, she’s been pestering you to meet one of his friends. She’s told you several times that his mate Ben is perfect for you, but based on the little you know, you’re not sure you agree.
She showed you his Instagram a while back and, although there’s no questioning that he’s quite attractive, you don’t know if a fancy, famous footballer is the right choice to ease back into dating. You doubted that you would be his type, either, but when Mia insisted that Ben was interested and free this Thursday, you finally gave in.
You figured the worst that could happen is you realize you’re not ready to date again or that there isn’t a connection between you and you wasted one evening having dinner with a stranger.
But now that you’re sitting in this car, about to go on an actual date for the first time in forever, you feel like you might explode with nerves. You don’t remember how to flirt, how to tell someone about yourself, how to act cool and composed. You could be totally awkward and weird and he might never want to see you again.
Or, even worse, you could fall madly in love, only for him to end up breaking your heart. That’s the far more terrifying possibility.
You have half a mind to ask the driver to turn around and take you back home, but you force yourself not to. Mia would be upset with you, and you figure you owe it to her not to stand up Harvey’s friend for no real reason.
Your hands are shaking slightly as you get out of the car and enter the restaurant. You consider waiting outside for him, as you’re a couple minutes early and he probably isn’t here yet, but it’s freezing out right now, so you decide to head in.
“Hi, do you have a reservation?” the hostess asks you, and you nod a bit shyly.
“Yes, it should be under Chilwell? But I’m early, so I can just wait-"
“Right this way,” she says with a smile, motioning for you to follow her.
It’s a small restaurant, with no more than ten tables, most of them occupied. There are candles burning and soft music is playing, the atmosphere somehow romantic without being cheesy.
You feel slightly more at ease knowing it’s not some insanely posh place like you were half-expecting it to be, and then you lock eyes with your date.
Your stomach erupts with butterflies - something you also weren’t quite expecting - when you see him, immediately realizing that the photos Mia showed you did not do him justice.
He’s gorgeous, with bright blue eyes that light up when he sees you and wavy dark hair that you could spend hours running your fingers through. He quickly stands up as you approach the table, smoothing out any wrinkles in the dark blue trousers he’s wearing, paired with a black knit jumper and Nikes.
You can hear Mia’s words echoing in your ears: “Harv swears he has a heart of gold. He had a bad breakup last year too, so you’re in the same boat. Just give him a chance and see how it goes!”
“Y/N!” Ben smiles, greeting you with a quick hug. “It’s good to finally meet you, Mia’s talked a lot about you.”
Oh, god, you think to yourself, hoping your best friend hasn’t overhyped you too much.
“Good to meet you too,” you say, returning his smile. “And that sounds like Mia, she talks a lot about everything.”
“That’s probably why she and Harv work so well,” he quips.
Ben is still standing quite close to you, and it takes you a moment to realize he’s pulled out your chair for you to sit down. You’re not sure if a guy has ever done that for you before.
You oblige, taking the seat and letting him push you in before sitting across from you. Something your mum told you when you were a kid about how a gentleman behaves comes to mind, but you try not to let your mind wander too much. It’s been about twenty seconds, there’s plenty of time for him to prove right your current theory that all men are trash.
“Thanks for choosing the restaurant,” you say to fill the silence, glancing around you. “It’s really nice.”
“Yeah, I come here a lot,” Ben replies. “It’s low key, which I kinda like. Mostly old people and stuff. I was actually just starting to worry you’d think it was a bit lame for a first date.”
“I don’t,” you say quickly. “I’m good with low key.”
Ben smiles at you, and you’re not sure if it’s him or the candlelight making your face feel warmer all of a sudden.
“You look gorgeous, by the way,” he says a bit shyly. “I should’ve said that sooner.”
“Oh, thanks.” You’re certain now that you’re blushing. “So do you. I mean, you look very - not that you’re not gorgeous, men can totally be-"
You meet Ben’s gaze, your cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but you find no judgement in his eyes - he’s smiling at you even more now, the kind of smile that makes you feel completely at ease.
You just met this man, and yet you feel completely safe with him.
“Sorry, this is my first date in nearly three years, I’m a bit rusty,” you admit.
“No, you’re good,” Ben says gently. “Mia mentioned you recently got out of a long-term relationship.”
“Not that recently anymore, but…yeah,” you say. “It was a bit of a shit show. We were together two years and then one day I walked in on him sleeping with another girl. Not exactly an amicable breakup.”
Ben’s face falls. “Oh, I’m so sorry, Y/N. What a piece of shit.”
“Yeah, he really was,” you say, nodding your head. “Obviously, it was for the best, though. Better I find out he’s a lying cheater now than ten years down the line, right?”
“Definitely,” Ben agrees, “you want something to drink?”
After a couple glasses of wine and the most amazing pasta dish you’ve ever had in your life, you feel like you’ve known the person sitting across from you for years, rather than hours.
You talk about everything - your job, his football career, your families, your friends. You talk about your ex a bit more, and then he opens up about his. There’s a nagging feeling in the back of your mind that you’re sharing too much with him, but a far stronger one telling you that this is right. It’s a feeling you’ve never had before, not with your ex and not on any other first date you had before him.
You don’t even realize how much time has passed until you look around and realize you’re the only ones left in the restaurant.
“They’re probably closing soon,” you comment, though you don’t really want to leave.
“Twenty minutes ago, actually,” Ben says. You raise an eyebrow, and he scratches the back of his head and smiles. “Uh, I may have offered the owner a hundred quid to stay open a bit longer while you were in the loo. I’ve been having a really nice time talking to you.”
Your heart thumps in your chest, your eyes nearly beginning to water at the gesture.
“I’ve been having a really nice time with you, too.”
After you finish your drinks and Ben pays the cheque, not even hearing out your offer to split it, you head back out into the chilly London night together.
“I’m just gonna call an Uber,” you say, pulling out your phone with one hand and rubbing your shoulders for warmth with the other.
“I’m parked right around the corner, I’d be happy to drive you?” Ben offers.
You remember that he declined a second glass of wine earlier, stating that he was driving - a stark contrast from your ex, who would frequently call you to pick him and his car up from the pub after he got too pissed to drive home.
“You really don’t have to, it’s pretty late,” you protest.
“It’s no big deal,” Ben assures you. He then shrugs off his jacket and wraps it around your shoulders without hesitation, putting an end to your clearly obvious shivering. “So you don’t freeze on the way to the car.”
You smile gratefully, unable to articulate with words how much this simple gesture means to you.
As you walk side by side, you can’t help but admire the Christmas lights already strung up on the shops and houses you pass.
“I love this time of year,” you say. “It’s so magical.”
“Same here,” Ben smiles. “Christmas in London is the best. Do you have any plans for the holidays this year?”
Your brain briefly flits back to the ski trip you and your ex went on the past two years right before Christmas. A week ago, you were dreading that time coming, knowing you would end up being nostalgic for those trips and start missing him again, but somehow, that feeling seems to have vanished.
“Just going home to see my parents,” you say. “You?”
“Yeah, we always have games around Christmas, so my family usually comes to mine and we do a big dinner on Christmas Day, then they come see me play on Boxing Day,” Ben tells you. “After the game, we always go get hot chocolate and go ice skating. My little sister suggested it when she was a bit younger, and it sort of stuck.”
The combination of Ben’s coat over your shoulders and the way your heart is melting at his sweet words makes your entire body feel warmer.
“That’s a great tradition,” you say, looking over at him with a smile and gently bumping your arm against his.
You arrive at Ben’s car and he opens the door for you to get in, his hand brushing against yours as you do so, and the brief touch is enough to drive you crazy.
The drive to your flat isn’t too long, and conversation continues to flow easily between the pair of you. You can’t help but steal a glance at Ben from time to time as he drives, admiring the way the streetlights reflect in his beautiful ocean blue eyes.
There’s a bit of a pang in your chest when he pulls up in front of your building and you know this is the end of the most incredible night you’ve had in ages.
“Walk you to your door?” Ben offers, and you nod without hesitation.
He once again comes around to open your door for you - you know you have a low bar right now, but you’re seriously in awe of what a gentleman he’s being.
Once you’ve arrived at the door to your flat, you turn around to face Ben, and he has a bit of an inquisitive expression on his face.
“I had a really nice time tonight,” he says softly.
“So did I,” you say sincerely. “Thanks for dinner, and the lift home, and…just, erm, for being so wonderful.”
His cheeks now flushed with red, Ben takes a small step closer to you, and your gaze automatically falls to his lips. You want him to kiss you, you’re sure of it, but some part of you is still completely terrified of where this might go if you do.
“Can I…” Ben murmurs, tenderly reaching up to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear, and once again, you don’t hesitate.
“Yes.”
He slowly leans in until his lips are pressed to yours, one hand gently cupping your face and the other resting on your waist. You hold his hand that rests on your cheek as you kiss him back, your lips slowly moving together in perfect harmony.
It’s fun and new and exciting to kiss him, but mostly, just like everything has this evening, it feels right.
When you pull away, it takes a moment for your eyes to remember how to open. When you do, you’re met with an awestruck grin on Ben’s face that you’re pretty sure you’re mirroring yourself.
“Wow,” you breathe. “Been a long time since I’ve done that.”
You’re not sure if you mean kissing or falling for someone - perhaps both.
“Me too,” Ben whispers, kissing you once more. “I think we’re pretty good at it.”
You nod, grasping at his shirt as you find yourself swaying slightly, intoxicated by his kisses and his gaze.
“Maybe we should do it again to be sure,” you joke.
He wastes no time leaning down to kiss you again, and again, and again until you’ve lost all track of time.
Eventually, he pulls away and takes a small step back, and you miss his lips already.
“I should probably get going,” he says, though you can tell he doesn’t really want to. You have half a mind to invite him inside, but you know it’s better to take things slow, especially when there’s a chance this could really be something. “Can I - erm, would you want to-“
“Yes, please,” you cut him off with a grin. “Text me when you get home?”
You’re already eagerly anticipating a second date - the sooner the better, honestly, despite your wishes to take it slow.
“Definitely,” Ben says, nodding eagerly. “Have a good night, Y/N.”
He begins to turn to walk away, and you watch him get halfway to his car before fumbling for your keys and entering your flat with a giddy smile on your face.
You realize you haven’t checked your messages all night, so you quickly return Mia’s texts.
You flip down on your couch, still smiling like a fool, and it’s only then that you realize you’re still wearing Ben’s jacket. After panicking for a second, you quickly reach for your phone again.
You nearly throw your phone with excitement, counting down the seconds until you get to see him again and thanking your lucky stars that you agreed to go out tonight.
You thought that love died that terrible day eight months ago, that your chance at happiness was over, but now you can’t help but wonder if there’s a reason things ended the way they did.
Maybe to make way for something better to begin.

Thoughts on Fashion & Style from Harvey's Instagram Live with Samantha Rei Crossland
Last night, Harvey Guillén joined fashion designer Samantha Rei Crossland for a chat on Instagram Live to talk about life, style, the entertainment industry, and to answer some fan questions! The full video may be available via Harvey or Samantha's IG eventually, as they saved it at the end, but in the meantime I've compiled some of the questions and answers related to Harvey's relationship with fashion and style here!
This text is taken from the video and has been lightly edited for clarity.
Samantha: Dollie says, "as a fan you can really tell Harvey worked deliberately through fashion and photoshoots to establish his style in person, in front of the camera, and on the red carpet. I'd love to hear more about that journey and additionally if you have any tips for achieving confidence in style and fashion."
Harvey: Wow, good question! I feel like that was an avenue that never was presented to me as an option for the first part of my career. You know everyone's like "oh who dressed you?" I dressed myself! I mean I still do, but I didn't really get any kind of help with anything stylish-wise until recently, when I got the opportunity to work with different designers and stylists who introduced me to those designers. That's really what it is: a stylist will get you into an atelier or someone's house, like Christian Siriano or someone like that. But for the most part, for a long time I just kind of dressed myself, and on a budget.
Knowing Harvey was putting these kinds looks together by himself on a budget in 2017 and 2018, I will never again cut any of the Chrises with their MCU money a single centimeter of slack for showing up year after year, to event after event, in bland black or navy suits.
Harvey (continued): Because stylists are worth every penny, but they're expensive! They are expensive because they do a great job, but you also have to be constantly doing that. I think Zendaya was just talking about this in an interview. There's moments where you want a stylist because you want to look your best and you want the best opportunity and possibility, and there's moments where you're like "I'll dress myself, it's just a small event, I'll make it work. I'll make it work with what I have."
But yeah, I really wanted to put myself in a position where...why can't I like fashion? Why can't I do a photoshoot, and why can't I do a cover? I had a publicist, one of my first publicists...I said "I want to be the first to do something, like be on a cover of something like this!" And they straight out loud said "that's not going to happen." And I was like..."oh well, I mean maybe not overnight, but that should be the goal, we should work toward--"
And they were like "yeah, but we want to be realistic...and that's not gonna happen."
Cannot imagine being the person to tell THIS man he's never going to be on the cover of a magazine.
Harvey (continued): I realized, if people on your team are naysayers or they're not seeing the vision, those people aren't on your team. So unfortunately, I had to let them go, because if there's someone on your team who's already being toxic towards your vision, that's not the vision, that's not the vibe, that's not it. And so I'm glad to report that shortly after that we did get a cover! And then I was able to kind of show that off and be like, "it can be done!" You just have to find the right team and the right people who see your vision.
I think for so long it's just been easy to say no to people who don't fit the mold of Hollywood, and I'm not here to fit a mold. I'm here to break it.
Samantha: You're killin' it! You have no idea how many of these questions were just "when is he starting a fashion line?"
Harvey: I want to! I think right now I'm so focused on my main passion, which is acting, and I'm so grateful and blessed to have opportunities that are coming my way and that I am excited for. And now wrapping something that I'm gonna hold so dear to my heart like Shadows for so long, I'm so grateful. And you know, most actors would kill for just the opportunity to be on a show like Shadows and call it a day, and I would be happy if that's the work that I'm known for, because it's such a great show.
But I'm fortunate that I have all of these other things that are coming up. I'm so excited for the opportunities, and I'm excited for the different characters and different roles and different hats I get to put on.
But eventually that would definitely be an avenue that...I mean, it would definitely be on brand! You know? It would be so on brand to open a plus size line, especially because growing up I didn't see as many options for plus size people, period. But if there were, obviously the lean is for female clothing, and it was never for men at all. Like the options for a plus sized guy was like...screen t-shirts and jeans. And that's it!
Or it was always Big and Tall, where if you weren't tall you got stuck with a really short and stout kind of shirt. The measurements were always catered to "if you're big, you gotta be tall," and well, I don't know if that's true, but there was no in between. So that's a market that I would definitely want to look at. But for the time being I'm focusing on the acting part of it.
Samantha: Kelly wants to ask, "do you like any specific colors or patterns? Where are your tastes when you dress high fashion?"
Harvey: I used to be afraid of color a lot because I was always told if you're plus sized or bigger you'll amplify yourself. But I think you shouldn't be afraid of color. Last year, a year ago next month, at the Meta Gala I wore pink! That was all Christian Siriano from head to toe, and there was a wink there and a story behind it--if you know you know--why he and I chose the color pink for the Met Gala and who they were honoring and all of that. So I'm not afraid of color. I try to be very specific about the dimensions and where my leg cuts off or where it elongates my leg.
Harvey's now-iconic outfit from the 2023 Met Gala--whose theme was honoring Karl Lagerfeld--blended foundational style elements of Lagerfeld's most famous designs for Chanel with all the things Lagerfeld loudly hated throughout his life. Lagerfeld was infamous for making shitty comments about plus sized people, people of color, short men, and a host of other things. He also disliked the color pink. So Harvey showing up as himself and looking stunning wearing that glorious pink number was possibly the classiest shade ever thrown.
Harvey (continued): I've just been like the Christian Siriano poster boy this year! Which is a funny story because when I first approached him over a year ago for the Oscars, he was really busy and he said "I really don't make menswear."
And I was like "well I'm not saying I want you to make completely a tuxedo, I want you to do something in the middle." And he was like "well, I kind of did that with Billy Porter" where he put Billy in this really amazing gown. And I was like "well I don't want to do a gown, I want something between that, you know? Like where it doesn't have to be a traditional, boring, just plain old tuxedo, and it doesn't have to be this amazing, beautiful ball gown that Billy had worn."
Because he doesn't really design for men, he designs for women. And he said "this would be the first I would do this." And I said "then that's great! It'll be the first!" And he definitely had never designed for a plus sized man, so we were checking all these boxes off.
So my idea was if someone in 1920 went to an award show but was trying to wear a vintage Victorian or Edwardian outfit to honor a vintage look. So the hair was 1920s. The hair was done by Connie, who was my hair person in What We Do In the Shadows, who helped me originate the original look for Guillermo.
And Romie--who's my best friend since third grade--is my makeup artist, and she did my makeup for the Oscars and makeup for a lot of the events I go to.
And it was just amazing, you know. That outfit...oh my god. Vogue ran it, they got so many likes, it was on every social [media] outlet, and it did so well that last fall, for the first time, [Christian] had a men's line. And I can't help but wonder if it was a coincidence, if it had anything to do with my "how about we try this experiment!"
This beautiful vintage-inspired look for the Oscars was Harvey's first red carpet collaboration with Christian Siriano and landed him on nearly every best dressed list for the event. The metallic brocade tuxedo gown and bell hem trouser were included in Siriano's Fall 2023 line, and are available to order on his website (for a hefty price) as separate pieces in sizes up to a size 30 (58 bust, 60 waist).
Harvey (continued): Christian's been great, and of course he would make amazing pieces for menswear, of course he would!
We collaborated on a lot of things. For the Critic's Choice award we did a really cool cut, which was like a midriff cut with a peek-a-boo of belly. Because you know, I like my body, and I can show it off! And he did it in a way where I was like "woah!" It elongated my leg and it had a peek-a-boo of a little bit of tummy, and it had a neckline that plunges. So it shows your chest, and it's mesh, and then this giant bow on the side that you can take off or put on.
This red carpet look Harvey wore for the Critic's Choice Awards is one of my personal favorites. It feels like plus size people are always being urged to both cover up as much as possible and make ourselves as small as possible. But this outfit stares those demands in the face and says "Why though? Fuck that! Show yourself off and take up space!"
Harvey (continued): It got so many compliments on the carpet! And it's to a T a Christian look, but also very much me, because we collaborated in what that would look like and how I want that on my body, how it looks on my body, because what looks good on me may not look good on someone else. But it's knowing what your best assets are and what you're showing off, and what you want to show off. Because that's what's going to make you feel the most comfortable, when you're showing off something that you love about yourself.
Samantha: That's literally what I tell my clients! You feel the best you've ever looked in your life when everything just fits you perfectly and shows off the best parts of your body that you like the most. It's not about hiding, it's about amplifying.
Harvey: Yeah, exactly.

Thank you so much to both Samantha and Harvey for this wonderful conversation on IG Live! It was truly a joy to witness it and get more insight into Harvey's thoughts on fashion and style.

Summer Baby Pt 4 / Dominik Szoboszlai
It’s July, 2024. A few of the Liverpool boys are looking for a getaway before and between the summer series and stumble upon your mom’s vacation home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. There, they spend their time enjoying the sun and one in particular, enjoying the company. You find yourself falling for a charming Hungarian- Domi.
PART 4
waking up early, you again ventured into the boys side of the house and began your morning routine of making coffee and tea. Pouring yourself a cup, you heard steps coming from one of the bedrooms and crossed your fingers it would be the hungarian man you were not-so-secretly obsessed with. Your wishes came true when Dominik emerged from his room and enveloped you in a hug from behind.
“Good morning,” you cooed.
“Good morning édesem,” he whispered into your ear, placing a kiss on your temple and swaying with you in his arms.
You closed your eyes and let yourself rest in his arms for a while.
He again kissed you, but this time on your cheek, then the side of your forehead before turning you in his arms to kiss you on the lips slowly and passionately.
“Coffee?” you asked him from his in between his arms.
“oh, yes please.” He told you.
You smiled at his unshaven face and messy bed head that he somehow made look intentional and perfect.
“what?” He asked you in his raspy morning voice .
“Nothing, it’s just- you’re really cute in the morning.” You told him.
He smirked at you.
Of course he knew how hot he was, he was Dominik Szoboszlai. To hear it from you though, drove him absolutely insane.
You turned on your heel, going to the cupboard for a mug.
“I think you’ll like this one,” You told him pointing to the red liverpool mug with an 8 on it.
He laughed and you filled the mug with coffee, handing it to him.
“thank you baba,” he told you with a kiss to the temple.
He slurped his coffee and smiled.
He watched you make breakfast, offering to help every few minutes, but you assured him you would be fine making the crêpes on your own.
Slowly, the rest of the boys came out of their bedrooms, rubbing their eyes.
“morn’n” Curtis said, followed by good-mornings from the rest of the crew.
You quickly served them breakfast and coffee.
They asked you to eat with them, but you wanted to get an early swim in at the beach and you assured them you’d eat after.
Heading towards the beach in your pink flowered bikini, you ran, eager to hop into the warm water.
Floating in the water face up, you breathed in the hot summer air. Water made you calm, it always had. The beach was your best friend when you had nobody to talk to. You found solace in it when you were lonely. But now, in a whirlwind of a romance blossoming with a football player, the beach felt like a never ending paradise.
After about thirty minutes, you swam closer to the shore, ready to get out. You noticed one of the boys resting on the shore, shoulders slumped. He was tanning, in his swim shorts, but he looked like he’d like to be just about anywhere but there.
It was Harvey. His noodle-like permed hair was crazy, his face hanging low and his shoulders even lower.
You walked up to him and placed your towel next to him, sitting as you did.
“Harvey, is something bothering you?” you asked him.
“no, well. I don’t know, it’s stupid. and no offense but you wouldn’t understand.” He told you frowning.
You looked at him through his black sunglasses.
“try me.” you told him, hoping that your voice sounded compassionate.
“I- Last season, I-uh didn’t preform as well as I know I can,” He sighed, “I just looked at instagram. I don’t think the fans think I should stay. They’re saying I should be sold or benched. I know I didn’t do my best but I’m trying Y/n. I’m not Trent Arnold. I’m Harvey Elliott. I play well and I’m on first team from academy, but at the end of the day, I still somehow feel like the fans hate me. I never see anyone wearing my jersey. I just feel forgotten and hated,” He told you, spilling his guts. It seemed so raw, so unlike everything you’d ever seen, read or thought about Harvey.
“I have it,” you said smiling at him.
“What? What do you have?” He asked confused.
“I have your jersey. I bought it last season. I thought you were excellent. That’s because you are excellent.” You told him.
He smiled and shook his head.
“No, I’m serious Harvey. Come on, come with me. I know something you need right now,” you told him.
You walked in the house, practically dragging Harvey with you.
You brought him to the kitchen where you started bringing out your homemade sorbet, raspberry and mango.
Footsteps met the two of you in the kitchen and suddenly it was you, Dominik and Harvey in the kitchen.
You could tell Dominik didn’t realize Harvey was there at first because you heard him say, “Hey baba-“and then stumble over it and say “buddies,”
Harvey snorted.
“Did you just call me baba? Thats weird man.” Harvey asked.
“No, no you know my english is not great,” He said, lying.
Harvey nodded and hummed in agreement.
You turned for a moment to hide your smirk and then turned back composed.
“homemade sorbet anyone?” You asked, grabbing three bowls for the three of you.
“yes please!” Harvey exclaimed, smiling like a little kid. Clearly his sour mood had melted away.
You laughed.
“Me also,” Dominik said, leaning on the counter in a black compression shirt.
For a moment you allowed yourself to gaze at his chest muscles before snapping back to reality.
Lucky for you, Harvey hadn’t noticed you staring at his teammate’s chest.
Dominik however, definitely had and smiled widely.
“The sorbet, Y/n?” Domi asked you licking his bottom lip.
“Yes, the sorbet. I make it in two flavors. Raspberry or mango. Or both, which would you guys like?” You asked focusing.
“I’d try raspberry.” Harvey said.
“How about a bit of both for me?” Dominik asked.
“Sure,” you said, scooping some sorbet for each of you.
Harvey took a big scoop into his mouth and you saw his eyes almost roll back.
“How are you sooo good at cooking??” Harvey asked while Dominik tasted his.
“I don’t know,” you say, “I practice.”
“This, This is good.” Dominik says, not looking up from his bowl of sorbet, shoveling it into his mouth.
You have some of yours before asking them a question.
“Did you guys want me to make dinner or are you all going to out somewhere?” you asked them.
Dominik’s face lit up with an idea but he stayed silent.
“As much as I love your food, it might be nice to go out,” Harvey said.
“Okay cool,” You said, “Just let me know when you guys leave, I wanna clean up in here a bit.”
The boys nod, and you excuse yourself back to your room.
An hour and a half later, you get a text from Harvey.
All of us but Dominik are out, He said he felt like staying home, but it would be fine if you cleaned.
And then a few seconds later, a text from Domi.
Hey, Come over. I want the two of us to go out to dinner 😉
You smiled and texted a thank you to Harvey and got up out of your room and towards Dominiks room.
You knocked at his door.
“Come in baba,” He said, and you could hear the smile in his voice.
He was wearing Khaki loose-ish pants, fixing a watch on his wrist.
He had two shirts out on the bed, but not a single one on.
“Hey,” You said to him.
“Hey, which shirt should I wear?” He asked pointing at the light blue shirt and the pale yellow one.
“hmm,” You said holding up the two shirts to his body, pressing it to his chest.
He smiled, and you made your decision.
“The light blue looks good on you with your dark hair.” You told him.
He nodded, and then went into his closet pulling out a box and giving it to you.
“What’s this?” You asked him, smiling.
“A dress, I wanted us to match on our first date,” He said to you.
You opened the box and saw a beautiful dress, the same shade as his shirt and with ruffles on the side wrapping around to the top with a slit on the left side.
“Domi, this is gorgeous,” you tell him gasping a bit.
“I thought you’d like it.” He told you smirking, “Go get changed, I have a plan.”
“okay,” you told him, but before leaving, you wrapped your arms around his neck and gave him a peck on the lips.
You went to release him, but he pulled you back into an intimate kiss, instantly snaking his tongue into your mouth and kissing you passionately. After a few minutes, The two of you released each other and you rushed to put on some makeup and fix your hair before putting on your new dress.
He took you to a nice restaurant and you two sat in the back room.
He didn’t often get recognized in the US, but he didn’t want to risk an interruption on a night that he was a bit worried over.
If tonight didn’t go well, would you be interested in him at all?
His unwavering confidence told him ‘no, shes into you and this won’t change it,’ But he couldn’t deny that he was overthinking it.
Before you could sit, Dominik pulled out your chair and pushed it in once you were seated. you were blushing like crazy. You only hoped the redness on your cheeks didn’t make you look silly.
Dominik, thought you blushing was extremely cute and made it known with a kiss to each cheek before heading over to his own seat.
The evening rushed by oh too soon.
One second you were ordering and speaking of his 23/24 season debut, the next you were eating and discussing your family.
The date ended with Dominik insisting on paying the bill and holding your hand in his back to the car.
He opened your door and rested his hand on your back as you went in. Before closing the door, he placed a gentle and slow kiss on your lips. He pulled away, smiling and heading over to the drivers side.
“Thanks for tonight. I feel like we’ve known each other for years,” Dominik said to you smiling.
“Thank you Domi, tonight was really special. I had a really good time.” you told him nodding your head.
He placed his hand on your thigh and began driving, the contact sending butterflies to your stomach.
You hated the fact that the beach house was so close to the restaurant that you two ate at because you could have spent forever just driving around in the car with him.
As you approached the house, Dominik sighed.
“I don’t really want this date to end,” He confessed.
“Me either,” You said.
None of the other cars had returned to the driveway yet, and you figured that they were probably out clubbing and would be so until the ungodly hours of tomorrow morning.
“We could watch something, a movie or a show,” Domi suggested and you nodded, unbuckling your seatbelt.
You tried to get yourself out of the car but he ran over, and opened your door.
He held out his hand for you to take, and you gladly accepted it.
He guided you inside and towards his room, where he turned on the tv, dimmed the lights and set out some blankets.
The two of you were sat up at the head of the bed with his arm around you and your head resting on his chest, along with one of your hands. He turned on a Netflix film you both agreed upon and the two of you cuddled there until long after the movie was over and you no longer had the energy to keep your eyes locked on Domi’s. You fell asleep in his arms, they had locked over you in a protective way that told you he didn’t want you going anywhere. Soon after your eyes shut for the night, his did too. And you both rested there until the morning sun.
-here’s a lil first date aesthetic for you all xx-

Hey I gotta know!!!! What's Jason’s reaction over Grant going feral over him??? I love, love when he gets like that! But Jason seems so normal in this one I'm afraid for Grant.
Assuming this is the Stalker au, Jason is NOT happy. Grant hurt his best friend! Restraining order + he's calling Bruce's lawyer (Harvey is definitely his god father in this au)
Loser au? Jason would think it's cute. What do you mean he has a folder dedicated to pictures from Jason's Instagram and he gets all mopey when Jason kisses someone else? It's weird and mildly creepy but Jason sees Grant kind of like a stray he's trying to assimilate into a healthy household so it goes a little ways towards actually convincing Jason he's serious about the crush thing.
He is more normal here but he's still unfortunately attracted to pathetic wet dog men
#dc#jason todd#grant wilson#Loser Grant au#Stalker Grant au#Now if Grant had gone after someone Jason already didn't like? different story#we would have a very different au of an au going on#jaygrant#ask#mutual mayhem

Marcus is a self-proclaimed "lover not a fighter". He's known to be very friendly and approachable, with a significant portion of the Formula 2 grid mentioning that he was the driver they got on with best in the paddock during his time there. His results in F2 were mixed, moving teams in 3 successive years, as he sometimes had difficulty getting to grips with the F2 car and tyres, however it’s generally agreed that his midfield championship positions during his F2 tenure aren’t an accurate reflection of his genuine ability and talent. Multiple Ganassi team members (including the boss) have commented on how impressed they are by his raw speed, work ethic, and attitude since his arrival in IndyCar. Marcus himself has already talked about how much more enjoyable the Indy car is to drive and how much fun he’s having now after several years of struggling with the notoriously difficult F2 car. He also appears to be getting on well with his CGR teammates and in particular has talked about how much he likes Marcus Ericsson.
He moved to London in early 2022 after spending several years living near Ferrari’s HQ in Maranello, Italy, and is known to enjoy city nightlife, being a big fan of wine. He’s a major foodie who likes taking photos of good food almost as much as he enjoys complaining about bad food. He is known to be determined to the point of stubbornness, causing himself permanent damage to his knee during a half-marathon due to refusing to stop when he was in pain. He had a low attendance record at school due to focusing on his racing career and moving to Europe at the age of 14, and as such, although he’s not unintelligent he’s known to be somewhat lacking in general knowledge (such as thinking Shakespeare’s first name was Michael). However, he has the characteristically Kiwi dry, sarcastic sense of humor and very much enjoys mutual teasing and banter with his close friends, something that’s often on display in the Screaming Meals podcasts.
Fanfic Lore
Usually paired with Callum Ilott, or F2 driver Clement Novalak due to their extremely close and physically affectionate friendship - was Clem’s teammate during their karting days, and has said that they talk every day while he’s in the US Likes to tease Callum and wind him up to his face, but often calls him his best mate and praises him when he’s not around. However Callum rarely (if ever) reciprocates the latter, probably due to his intense Britishness Good friends with multiple drivers from various series, including Juan Manuel Correa, Jüri Vips, Guanyu Zhou, Nick Cassidy, Max Fewtrell and Felipe Drugovich Also has a tendency to “adopt” younger drivers and refer to them as “little bro”, including Jak Crawford and Dino Beganovic Has said on several occasions that he doesn’t wear underwear, and also shaves his legs (and possibly elsewhere, having claimed that he is “hairless from the eyebrows down”) Claims he can’t tell the difference between someone being nice to him and someone flirting with him

Ab Fab ended after five series in 2003 and while fans are still praying for a reboot, they’ll soon be able to enjoy the next best thing: Absolutely Fabulous: Inside Out, a documentary spilling the beans about how the show was made. Featuring Saunders, Lumley, Julia Sawalha (Saffy) and a slew of clips, it’s a glorious reminder of how groundbreaking the show really was.
Eddie, Patsy and Saffy were its stars, but so too were the clothes. Six years before Sex and the City catapulted Fendi Baguette bags and Manolos into the mainstream, Ab Fab made designer labels a talking point in a more irreverent way. Rather than existing to gild their wearers, clothes were often the butt of the joke, with Edina’s “It’s Lacroix, sweetie” sending up her obsession with labels in a way that viewers found relatable.
For the costume designer Rebecca Hale it was a dream job. “Jennifer [as the show’s creator] gave you freedom and creative licence. Nowadays you’re more constrained — there are so many points of view.” Although the job wasn’t without its stressesos famously worked close to the wire, frequently editing lines at the 11th hour. “I would often be on a motorcycle coming back from Selfridges when they changed the script, and I’d be running around Selfridges trying to find more shoes. You’d sometimes get the script on Thursday and be shooting Friday. I’d be sitting outside Harvey Nichols waiting for it to open, laughing and thinking, ‘Wow, I can’t believe she’s written that.’ ”
Not only did the script go close to the wire but also sometimes close to the bone. “But satire is what makes comedy so fantastic,” Hale says. “If you compare Ab Fab to something like Emily in Paris, [Emily] is more like a runway show than an observation on society. It’s very two-dimensional. It doesn’t take the piss out of itself.”
At the time gossip mags were the equivalent of Instagram, and Hale remembers looking through Hello! with Saunders for inspiration. “We’d see Katie Price getting out of a car in a Juicy Couture tracksuit and a G-string. What I loved about Jennifer is that we’d be telling stories and [showing] the complexities and insecurities of being a woman. We’d always make everything tight. Trousers would be extra small so there’d be a camel toe. You’d relate to the vulnerability, and show [the audience] that vulnerability is OK. Everything now is so pure and clean. Nobody wants to offend, but there’s got to be a bit of offence in order to observe.”
By the time Hale joined the show in the early Noughties (the earliest series were wardrobed by Sarah Burns), it was firmly established and most designers were keen to lend. “Gaultier and Dolce & Gabbana were always generous. The rest we’d buy at Harvey Nichols and Alexander McQueen. Betty Jackson made all of Patsy’s things, so we paid for it at cost. She was also generous and had a very big say in the way that Patsy looked. It was such a great contradiction to Eddie — very pure in its line and not so messy visually. Patsy was much more messy physically because Joanna’s such a great comedic actress.”
Decades after the final series of Ab Fab aired, Patsy is still a popular fancy-dress costume. What, for Hale, is her most iconic look? “There’s a white Betty Jackson coat that she wears with a black tight-fitting dress underneath — I think it was vintage Yves Saint Laurent. The tones were important — she’d wear cream, white or black, and occasionally red, whereas Edina would wear anything.” Indeed, the latter would be slavishly latching on to the hottest names and trends of the day. “One of my favourite Edina outfits is the Burberry look she wore in the early 2000s. She’s got the check bucket hat, jacket and three-quarter-length trousers.”
If Edina’s looks were outrageous, so too were those of her secretary, Bubble (Jane Horrocks). One of her more memorable outfits is a padded dress printed with Teletubbies, inspired by the popular children’s TV show of the time. “I was a single parent and had just come out of that period when you’re watching Pingu and Teletubbies. My brain was frazzled but I loved the imagery of it.”
By contrast, Saffy’s wardrobe was deliberately wholesome and drab, as befitted a girl who was chastised by Patsy for “dressing like a Christian”. Hale says: “We’d go to a shop and pick the cosiest jumper or the ugliest item of clothing. Anything that looked like it was a walking contraceptive pill, I’d put on her.”
Such was the show’s popularity that famous faces lined up to have cameos, meaning that Hale also had the fun of dressing its numerous celebrity guest stars. “We had a whole room of supermodels once. Elton John turned up in his own fabulous outfit. I remember dressing Anita Pallenberg and Marianne Faithfull. Anita turned up with these amazing lilac silk flowers, one for her and one for Jennifer. I put Marianne in a tailored white trouser suit by Bella Freud.” Hale also worked on Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie (2016), which featured a cameo by Kate Moss. “Kate was delightful. We were going through some ideas and she pulled out this dress that Johnny Depp had given her — black sequins, made by a very famous costume maker in Hollywood. Because the scene required her to come out of the River Thames, I copied that dress, remaking it in green sequins so that she emerged looking like a mermaid.”
Hale says that if Saunders ever did decide to do a reboot, she would look at influencers for inspiration, and dress them in labels such as SS Daley, Balenciaga and JW Anderson, adding in vintage pieces by Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney. “Fashion is so eclectic now. I’d have to find something that was extreme. Edina would have to wear a Kim Kardashian bodysuit like she did on Saturday Night Live.”
Hale is interested in the power Kardashian wields. “She’s a fashion icon. Although you haven’t got those fantastic people who really used to cultivate their own looks. Nobody takes risks any more. They’re all too concerned about how they’re perceived. In the Nineties you’d have these very famous fashion people — Anna Wintour, André Leon Talley, Suzy Menkes — each with their own image, and they’d stick to it. Now people just go to a designer and get plonked in it rather than curating their own style. Money kills creativity. You get paid to wear a brand and it takes away your identity. I think that’s sad.”
It’s the antithesis of Hale’s approach to fashion. She got involved with Ab Fab after initially working with Saunders on the comedy series The Comic Strip Presents … in the late 1980s and early 1990s, followed by the sketch show French and Saunders in the early 2000s. “We’d banter with each other about what was going on in our personal lives, and I’d often regale them with stories about my mother,” she says. “She was exuberant, to say the least — a great beauty, a great intellect and something of a fashion icon. On holiday in Greece she’d rise in the morning wearing some kaftan and a turban and ceremoniously walk on to the beach, waving at the Greek fishermen before swimming off in the nude.”
If she sounds uncannily like Edina Monsoon, that’s because she is. “Part of Edina is based on my mother. Her name was Crystal Hale and she was an inspiration to many. She’d take me to school dressed in a cape decorated with great big lions’ heads and a huge fur hat. She was extremely loving but very alternative. Her various stories and antics would be relayed back to Jennifer and Dawn, and they would give each other a sideways glance. So, yes, she was part of the inspiration for Edina.”
Ever since Ab Fab aired, fans have been guessing who Edina was based on, with the most popular theory being Lynne Franks, a well-known fashion PR who shared some of her traits. The name Crystal Hale has never been mentioned. She was the daughter of the novelist and MP AP Herbert, and indeed, some of her parenting sounds like it would put Edina’s to shame. “On one particular day, when I was terrified of [doing] my GCSE, she gave me a type of amphetamine called a purple heart to calm me down. It did the opposite.”
Never mind Edina being based on her mother: was Saffy based on Hale? “She might have been in the way I relayed my stories, but I was equally outrageous in my twenties,” she says, laughing. “My mother encouraged me to be expressive. At school I was into punk fashion and she’d allow me to wear a Vivienne Westwood cobweb-knit angora mohair sweater with no bra underneath, a miniskirt and rubber stockings.”
Hale has just finished working on Kaos, the Netflix black comedy starring Jeff Goldblum and Billie Piper. “I’ve rarely felt as happy reading a script as I did reading [the writer] Charlie Covell’s — it’s the closest to Absolutely Fabulous in terms of being laugh out loud.”
And she’s not surprised by the lasting impact Ab Fab has had. “The relationship between a mother and daughter is a theme that’s never going to die. It’s light-hearted, hilarious and there’s nothing else like it. I think it needs to be reintroduced.” We’d drink (the Bolly) to that.

Saul Silva x reader - my stupid heart
You looked at your phone screen, a smile on your face as you looked at your niece as she spoke to one of her friends and you looked back at the scenery.
“Sorry that was Aisha, what’re you doing (Y/N)?” Bloom asked.
“Hold on.”
You slipped your camera to show her the forest down below, the sunset beaming over everything and she gasped softly.
“Guys look at this!” Bloomed called.
You watched as her little corner of the screen was filled with multiple faces and they as gasped, commenting on how beautiful it was.
“Did you hike up there?” A girl asked.
“Yup! Took me all day.”
“How’re you getting down before dark?” Another asked you.
You turned the camera around and grinned, gesturing to the mountain peak you were stood on and the bag behind you and a few people with you.
“We’re gonna paraglide it down.”
Setting them on the floor, you could hear them saying it was a bad idea as you got everything ready.
“You men sorted?” You asked.
“You know it. Are you?”
You grinned and picked up your phone, you put it in the little part on your shirt, and made sure it was slightly secured and you flipped the camera.
“Don’t be so stupid!” Bloom yelled.
Saul was walking with Farah and Professor Harvey when they heard the shouting coming from Blooms suite, and confused and slightly worried, they walked over.
They opened the door and found the girls all crowded around a laptop shouting and yelling.
“Alright! What’s going on!” Saul yelled over them.
The five girls turned to the teachers who walked over.
“You’re going to get yourself killed!” Bloom yelled.
“Relax! I’ve done this before bloom, I got this! I’m muting myself!”
You muted your mic and the teachers looked at the screen.
“Who’s that?” Farah asked.
“That’s my stupid aunt.” Bloom sighed.
“What’s she doing?”
Bloom looked at Farah then back to the computer screen to watch you back up.
“It was supposed to be a hike..” she mumbled.
They all turned back to the screen and watched you run and jump.
“Oh god!” Professor Harvey yelled.
They watched as you seemed to tumble through the air and you were balanced out, and the screen became evened out.
You held a thumbs up at them and they all sighed in relief.
“Does she have a death wish?” Saul asked concerned.
“She’s obsessed with the thrill, she’s always doing stuff like this. It’s why her and my mom don’t get along.”
The three teachers were captivated by the scenery, and stayed to watch the whole thing play out, and they noticed you were alone.
There was three others just in front of you all, and you were all headed for a large clearing that had just came into view.
“Well.. she seems to be okay…” Terra mumbled.
“I can’t understand why someone would love doing that.” Stella said.
“Honestly me neither but my aunt absolutely loves it you should see what else she’s done, look.”
She grabbed her phone and pulled up your Instagram showing them all different videos and pictures of you doing similar stuff.
“She’s living her best life.” Musa laughed.
Even if it is reckless that seems fun.” Aisha nodded
“Well, if everything’s okay we’ll get going. Keep it down girls.” Saul said.
He gave one more glanced to the laptop screen and they all left to carry on with what they were doing.
You landed a bit rough, but you sat down and pulled your phone free and flipped the camera with a wild grin.
“I’ll bring you one day bloom.”
“You know mom and dad won’t let me.”
“Yeah but they don’t have to know, bring your friends too if you want. If gotta go, gotta pack up, call you tomorrow!”
You hung up and started to put everything away and you all walked to the car.
“You’re going to scare the poor kid.”
“Yeah but she’ll love it, I know she will.” You beamed.
Your friend laughed and dropped you back at your house, and you walked in, looking at all the pictures on the wall.
You were proud of the things you had done, the adventures that you had been on and completed.
Sure, you could get a normal job, settle down, stop what you were doing, but for you there wasn’t any fun in that.
You loved making your living off doing things like this, and as you pulled the camera from your helmet you set it down next to your computer for tomorrow.
Saul was found himself set at home that night thinking back to what you were doing.
Is that what they did in the first world for fun? When they didn’t have anything to worry about?
He picked up his phone and pulled up Instagram, he tried to remember what your username was, but he couldn’t, so after a few failed attempts, he finally accidentally stumbled across your account.
He scrolled through the photos, looking at them all. Sunsets, sunrises, night skies, mountains, beaches, caves, rolling hills and fields.
It was dedicated to every single adventure you had been on, everything you had done.
There was a few fews, and a link to a YouTube channel, so he went to it, and flicked through all the videos and he found one that caught his attention.
An old, abandoned theme park, and he clicked on it, turning his screen as it loaded and when it did it was a preview of what was coming, a disclaimer saying you were a professional and advising others not to do what you were doing.
Then a face popped up on the screen, (H/C) hair, a wide smile, and (E/C) eyes that held a spark for mischief and happiness.
You began to talk, and Saul wasn’t sure what he was expecting, but it wasn’t a voice as soft as yours was, and he was captivated.
He watched the whole video, and went to the next one.
He watched a few more, curious about the lifestyle you lead until he set his phone down on charge so he could sleep.
He kept checking up on your instagram, your videos, but he was trying not to let you know that he had interacted with them.
It wasn’t appropriate for him to be following the social media of a students family member, he knew that, but he enjoyed watching and looking at your adventures.
While looking at the new set of photos you had posted of a road trip you took, Saul accidentally pressed follow, and he panicked before trying to remove it.
You were scrolling through your phone when you got the notification that someone had followed you, looking at it, you went to dismiss the notification only to click on it instead.
“Damn touchscreens, crap phone..” you grumbled.
You went through this a few times a day where you’d accidentally open a notification instead of getting rid of it.
You looked at the privet profile, and you read his bio.
There wasn’t much in it, he didn’t have any posts or many followers, and he didn’t seem to be following many people.
His photo was of a sword and you moved your eyes to read the bio.
“Specialists headmaster for Alfea… huh…”
Screenshotting the profile, you went to your chats and found your niece, dropping her a quick message.
You: is your schools name Alfea? I know you mentioned it but I can’t remember
She began to type straight away.
Bloom: yeah, but you can’t come it’s really far. Why?
Grinning a little, you shook your head.
You: no reason, just wondering!
Pulling up the screenshot, you quickly pulled up his profile again and typed in his user name to find his profile with ease.
You laughed a little to yourself as you requested to follow him.
Saul thought me managed to unfollow you before you noticed, you had a lot of followers, surely his notification had blurred with the rest.
He tried to focus on reading but when his phone screen lit up and he looked at the new notification and the message request.
He read the message request first.
It was from you.
You: you know I think there’s rules about teachers following students family members..
He set his book down and picked his phone up, debating on what to do, and you sent him another message.
You: I won’t tell, I promise!
He laughed a little, shaking his head as he accepted the chat and he quickly replied.
Saul: im sorry. It was an honest mistake I didn’t mean too.
You hummed, looking at his message.
You: see, I would believe that, but that means that you sir, were actively on my profile!
You watched as he typed.
Saul: I happened to stumble across your account.
You grinned a little.
You: well, you did good at removing yourself pretty fast. But you also liked a photo from two years ago.
Saul felt his heart drop and he watched as you carried on typing.
You: see I would believe but that means that you were stalking my account, and that good sir, is not acceptable behaviour.
Saul: I wasn’t stalking your account.
You laughed, shaking your head.
You: see I would believe you but I have a notification that says otherwise Saul Silva, but don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.
You snickered and set your phone down as you turned of your lamp so you could get some sleep.
Saul looked at the conversation and sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he tried not to laugh.
Of course he screwed up and liked something. Something told him that it wasn’t going to be the end of this, and he knew it was wrong, but the adrenaline told him that maybe it wasn’t a bad thing

To be honest, this would be the perfect time to end this shitshow. Nobody really cares about their relationship; most fans wouldn't "mourn" it or care about their breakup, on the contrary. The trailer for Ghosted would take away the attention, and he could be the heartbroken boy during the press tour. /:
Chris suffers from anxiety. He will not be able to talk about her like a man who is actually in love in a real relationship. I don’t think the interviewers will even be allowed to ask about her. Alba is going to go on the black list of questions for these interviews.
People are saying “well he posted her on ig stories, so he will talk about her since he put it out there”- and I don’t agree with this. Here is why: posting on Instagram whether in a 24 hour ig story that disappears or an actual feed post is not the same as publicly speaking about a relationship. So when Chris, more so his team (because I’m convinced they took over his social media accounts), post on ig stories these cringe pics and videos they can still hide behind social media, don’t don’t have to face anyone when they do it. And although the internet is forever and there are screenshots, there isn’t actual proof of him talking about her. If he were to talk about her in interviews, it defeats the purpose of his ig stories that disappear in 24 hours. Remember if we look at his ig, thee is no trace of her, it looks like he is a single man who enjoys fall trees and loves his job and dog. He won’t be able to talk about Alba in interviews that will be filmed and aired to the public. This will just add fuel to it all and people will start pulling quotes from what he said for their articles. And he and his team don’t want that, because this whole time any article that discusses them, it has quotes from a “source”. Him not talking about her publicly will contribute to the concept of plausible deniability. Also people saying- “oh this isn’t the end, he just posted the vday dump” my response to that is- Yeah, so? There are so many couples in not just Hollywood but in the world that are together one day and then break up a few weeks to even a few days later. And like look at the drama with Megan Fox and MGK for example- not the best example, but you get the point. Or even Emily R. And Pete Davidson, rumors spread that they were dating (total pr) they were seen out, pics taken, and then boom it’s over. Or Saweetie and Quavo who were really together and broke up out of no where. Also look at Michael B Jordan and Lori Harvey- who were a pr relationship as well, and they ended it saying she wasn’t ready for marriage and kids like he was. And no one expected that to end, they sold the relationship very well. That’s just to name a few, that I can think off the top of my head. It’s just as likely for this circus with Chris to be over in a flash and just in time for ghosted. The fandom will “feel bad” and run to his side for support. And the film’s views will increase because of it. Sorry I know that was long, but I just wanted to share this perspective. 💕
I agree with everything!
He can't sell this relationship, so I can't imagine him talking about her at all. However, I can't really recall if he's ever talked about Minka or Jenny in an interview, so if it continues and this topic gets blacklisted, it wouldn't be that surprising, especially after the backlash they've received, but I agree that that would definitely fuel the drama and the PR narrative even more.

Ben should be feeling like he’s on top of the world. He’s staying at a luxury villa in Ibiza with his best mates, coming off a big win and a goal for his country. He’s young, healthy, and successful. He should be enjoying life at the moment.
Instead, he just feels like shit.
He’s felt like shit from the moment you walked away from him at Wembley, declaring the end of your fake relationship. It felt like a knife to the gut when you left him standing there, unaware of what he did wrong, wanting so badly to chase after you but knowing he shouldn’t.
He sat through an entire, agonizingly long dinner full of people celebrating and congratulating him on the goal, and all he wanted was to pull out his phone and call you to make sure you were okay.
The next morning, Mason, Harvey, Tom and Woody practically dragged him to the airport and onto the private plane they’d booked weeks ago. It’s a rare week off for both Ben and Mason, so they wanted to make the most of it. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
In the past, a boys week in Ibiza was his idea of paradise. It meant days spent poolside catching up with the lads and relaxing before returning to his busy schedule. And the nights were usually dedicated to going to some swanky club and leaving with a hot girl.
This time, it’s been three days of their five-day holiday, and Ben hasn’t left the villa once. He’s been sulking in his bedroom half the time, and generally bringing down the mood even when he tries to force himself to have fun with the boys.
He’s sent you a few texts to no response, and he would’ve been genuinely concerned for your safety if it weren’t for the fact that he could still see your Instagram stories - specifically one of you out drinking with some coworkers, including a good-looking guy apparently named Matt, who Ben may or may not have stalked on social media. The bastard - who Ben’s never met - may only have three photos, none of which are particularly offensive, but Ben knows for a fact he doesn’t deserve you.
The morning of the fourth day, he comes out of his room around ten looking for something to eat for breakfast, which he’s slept through every other morning so far, and is instead served with what can only be described as an intervention.
All the guys are sat around the table, drinking coffee and staring him down as he trudges out in just his boxers - perks of a lads trip - still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
“You need to tell us what happened with you and Y/N,” Tom says firmly as soon as Ben sits down at the table and pours himself a cup of coffee.
He just groans and takes a long sip before answering. It’s way too early for this.
“I already told you, I kissed her in front of the cameras, then she got weird and ran off,” Ben repeats the exact same brief recap he gave them on the flight here. “I followed her out and she said she couldn’t pretend to date me anymore and that she needed space.”
“Yeah, we know that part,” Harvey says. “And I get that you’re disappointed she’s bailing on the PR thing-“
“I don’t give a fuck about that,” Ben interrupts, a bit dramatically clanking his mug down on the table. “Look, I’m sorry I’m bringing down the holiday vibe, but my best friend isn’t returning my calls and I’m worried about her.”
Although most of the people at this table could make a case for being Ben’s best friend, and under better circumstances would probably joke offense at his statement, there’s nothing but silence. They all know what you mean to Ben, the place that you occupy in his life and in his heart. It’s…different.
“She’s fine, mate,” Mason says softly after a minute. He’s always the calm, level-headed one in these situations, and although Ben is typically grateful for his presence, he feels white hot rage within himself right now.
“You talked to her?”
“She texted me back yesterday and said she’s alright and she’s just taking a beat,” Mason responds, speaking carefully as if he’s afraid of saying too much. “Look, I know you feel shitty because you and Y/N got into a fight and she’s not talking to you. But have you thought about why she might have ended this thing?”
Ben runs a hand over his face. “I told you, Mase, I have no bloody idea-“
“Just think about it, Ben,” Tom chimes in. “She agreed to be your fake girlfriend, basically giving up any chance of having her own dating life during that time. Then she gets upset and bails right after you kissed her for show, in front of a bunch of people?”
Ben’s chest tightens as he realizes what his friends are implying, but he immediately shakes his head. It’s ridiculous. There’s no way you, his best friend, have feelings for him.
“No,” he says simply. “That’s not…she doesn’t…she would’ve said something.”
“Why would she?” Harvey asks, raising an eyebrow. “It’s not like you’ve told her.”
Everyone goes silent again as all eyes fall on Ben, who just nearly choked on his coffee as he processed Harvey’s words.
“What are you-I’m not-“
“Mate, I say this because I care about you,” Harvey continues. “You need to get your head out of your arse and just admit that you’re in love with her already.”
Of course he loves you. His best friend since the age of six, his rock, his favourite person on the planet. He’s loved you since before he knew what love was.
Except he can’t be in love with you, because that kind of love ends. He’s seen it end, when his parents got divorced and when his friends have had devastating breakups. He’s seen people fall in love and fall out just as quickly. And that can’t be you and him. He can’t lose you.
“Harvey, it’s not like that,” Ben says quietly. “She’s…Y/N. She’s my best friend.”
“Yeah, but she’s always been more than that, hasn’t she?” Mason says. “I mean, the bond between you guys, it’s not like what you have with any of us, right?”
“Well, no, but-“
“When I first met you I thought you were already dating her,” Nathan admits. “I told Mase I’d never seen a guy so whipped and when he told me you weren’t together, I was shocked.”
“And you’ve hated all of her boyfriends,” Tom adds. “Even the nice ones.”
“They’ve all been dickheads,” Ben replies, though he knows that’s not entirely true.
“You two have always been more than friends,” Mason continues. “I love you, bro, but she literally took weeks off work to take care of you after you did your ACL. She moved in with you and drove you to every physio appointment until you were on your feet again. And then last year when you realized you were gonna be out for the World Cup and you felt like shit, she was the only person you would talk to. I think that’s when I knew for sure how you felt about her.”
Ben still remembers that night like it was yesterday - he was in the treatment room at Stamford Bridge, icing his leg, already knowing tomorrow’s scans would confirm what he felt the moment he landed wrong, and he was so upset about missing Qatar that he barely spoke when the coach and some of his teammates came to see him. And then he heard your voice in the hall, grilling the medical team to ensure he was receiving proper care, and he smiled for the first time since he limped off the pitch that night.
You ran in, pushing past Mason to wrap Ben up in a tight hug and tell him everything would be okay, and despite how terrible things were at the moment, he felt so at peace in your arms.
“Mason’s right,” Tom says sincerely. “And it’s probably why none of these girls you hook up with feel right. You’ve already got your heart somewhere else.”
Ben feels his head spinning as he replays every meaningless one night stand he’s had, how something had always been missing.
He thinks about how it feels when he sees you in the stands at the Bridge, especially when you’re wearing his kit, and the way just seeing you gives him the confidence to be a better player.
And, more importantly, how you make him a better person - how he’s constantly in awe of your career and how you help people, how it inspires him to try to do more to make the world a better place. How you’ve turned down expensive Christmas and birthday gifts from him every year and directed him to a charity worth donating to instead.
He thinks about how you’ve stood by his side all these years, even when he was a cocky kid coming up in the Premier League and when he’s been a bit of a dick, you’ve always kept him from straying too far from himself. Through all the injuries, through every win and loss, you’ve been there.
He thinks about how you literally agreed to this ridiculous, elaborate PR scheme just because he asked you to, sacrificing your own free time and privacy to help him out.
Finally, he thinks about how right it’s felt pretending to be your boyfriend. It’s been almost second nature holding your hand and telling people how wonderful you are. It felt as easy as breathing to kiss you, and though he knows he shouldn’t have done it in a room full of people, he can’t bring himself to regret it. Kissing you was pretty much the best moment of his life, which means seeing you walk away from him on the verge of tears minutes later was probably the worst.
But while he’s been beating himself up this entire holiday over the fact that he kissed you and the fact that he dragged you into this fake relationship, he now realizes that wasn’t his mistake.
The issue is that he should have done it a long time ago, and it should’ve been for real.
“Shit,” Ben mutters under his breath. “I’m in love with Y/N.”
“Finally, he admits it!” Harvey grins, patting Ben on the back firmly.
The rest of the boys grin and chime in with their agreement, but Ben is already rising from the table and pulling up flights on his phone.
“Where you going, mate?” Mason asks with a smug grin on his face.
“Home, I don’t want to wait until tomorrow,” Ben says with a nervous smile. “Wish me luck, boys.”
As he begins to jog back to his bedroom so he can quickly pack and get to the airport in time for the next flight, he hears Harvey call out from the kitchen.
“Don’t forget trousers!”

How Will Byers became the heart and soul of Stranger Things.
By Adam White
30 October 2017 • 5:00pm
Warning: this story contains Stranger Things 2 spoilers!
Last year, when the young cast of Stranger Things began to tour the world, making personal appearances and becoming the faces of fashion houses, one cast member seemed to be permanently excluded.
Millie Bobby Brown was a grenade of preternatural charm, and Gaten Matarazzo won hearts with his endearingly candid Instagram account, but there was always the feeling that there was one young star missing.
Maybe not as funny or as quirky-looking as the others, 13-year-old Noah Schnapp was principally recognised as the Stranger Things Kid people seemed to forget about. Part of this was by nature of the show itself, Schnapp’s character Will abducted and taken to an alternate dimension known as the Upside Down during the very first episode. It was his disappearance that kicked off the show’s irresistible mix of sci-fi mystery and whimsical nostalgia.
But Stranger Things 2 has seen Will take on a far bigger role, becoming the drummer behind many of the show’s most emotional beats. And it’s been an impressively manageable task for Schnapp, who may have only just become a teenager but who has given one of the most heartbreaking portrayals of post-traumatic stress disorder in recent memory. He’s quickly cemented himself as the heart and soul of Stranger Things itself.
Oddly, despite Schnapp’s relative lack of screentime in the first season, he was arguably the most experienced of the show’s young cast going in – having already played Tom Hanks’s son in the Steven Spielberg movie Bridge of Spies, and voiced Charlie Brown in 2015’s The Peanuts Movie. He somewhat adorably learned he was hired while attending summer camp, before being whisked away to meet his fellow cast members.
Unlike them, however, his haphazard appearances in the first season meant he didn’t have much time to strike up a bond – but they still made him feel at home.
“I was trapped in the Upside Down,” he told Dazed, “so I wasn’t in the same scenes as the others. I’d be going back to school and stuff, but every time I came back it was like a big reunion. I’d drive into the studio and they’d be there waiting for me, screaming. When we were all there together, though, we’d all have sleepovers and stuff.”
With most of his scenes in the first season consisting of looking terrified in pools of inter-dimensional gloop, it took until its second for Schnapp to properly come into his own. His most moving performance occurs in the season’s fourth episode, wherein he confides in harried mother Joyce (Winona Ryder), telling her the truth behind his recent out of body experiences.
Desperate to push the narrative that he’s no longer affected by his time in the Upside Down, he has kept secret the fact that he has been glimpsing monsters and nightmarish, apocalyptic visions. That is until it all comes crashing down over breakfast, where he hesitantly confesses.
Schnapp captures all of the shame and horror of keeping a secret from your loved ones, and the odd sensations of disgust and relief as it unspools in floods of tears. It’s an incredibly powerful moment between both actors, but Ryder’s magnetism is less of a surprise considering she’s been in movies for over three decades. For Schnapp, it’s a revelation.
As the season continues, and Will’s body is entirely taken over by the feelers of the Upside Down, Schnapp conjures a sinister adolescent intensity similar to that of Harvey Stephens, the young actor behind Damien in The Omen, or even Linda Blair from The Exorcist.
While at least a few members of the young Stranger Things cast seem to be stagnating in the show’s second season (looking at you, Mike and Eleven), Will’s development has been particularly nuanced and interesting this year.
It also helps that Will best personifies many of the show’s strongest takes on teenage trauma. While the majority of the Stranger Things kids are depicted as prototypical outcasts, they also sometimes feel annoyingly photogenic in their social marginalisation, as if they weren’t Hawkins High's biggest geeks, but rather the heroes of a particularly inspiring Coca-Cola commercial.
Rather, they are “Hollywood nerds”, the kinds of outsiders with cool, charity shop wardrobes who find themselves with tight, unbreakable friendships. Aside from a few moments in which conformist, retrograde bullies call them names, never has high school loserdom been so enviable. Those who have actually encountered teasing or isolation as a pre-teen, you’ll know it’s worlds away from the kind so often depicted in the series.
Will, on the other hand, with his bowl haircut and wan complexion, better embodies the sort of child typically left on the sidelines of a PE class or isolated from their peers. The sadness of it all carried by Schnapp’s incredibly expressive face.
Even in a group Will somewhat disappears. He is smaller than the other boys, yes, but he has also experienced trauma, both before and after his time in the Upside Down. Hints of his life before the events of the series indicate a child who has always struggled to interact with his peers, possibly because of a fractured relationship with his father, who halfheartedly attempted to forge a bond before giving up entirely.
His impressively ramshackle fort in the woods, which he dubbed Castle Byers, also signals a child of particular introversion, for whom withdrawal from the world is a luxury.
There’s also the ever-discussed subtext that Will is gay – a theory spun by Joyce’s early aside that his father abandoned him amid a litany of homophobic slurs.
An only-somewhat-fanciful essay in The Advocate last year proposed that both Will and beloved mom jeans pioneer Barb were so quickly pulled into the Upside Down because it acts like something of a metaphorical closet – a terrifying embodiment of the shame and persecution that would so often envelope queer teens growing up in small-town America during the mid-Eighties.
Schnapp has said that he hasn’t thought of any queer subtext when playing the character, but welcomes the different readings fans have had. While we aren’t yet privy to Will’s sexuality, the idea of his slowly coming to terms with it only increases the power of his obvious marginalisation – the feeling that he doesn’t quite belong in ways that are very different to the rest of his friends.
We don’t yet know where the rest of Will’s journey will take him, particularly as the show seems to have finally closed the book on his time in the Upside Down, but what’s guaranteed is that in Schnapp’s hands it’ll be convincing. And that the Duffer brothers, the geniuses behind the show, would be smart to capitalise on his talent.
