The plot is still tightly under wraps, but these two descriptions have been floating around on multiple websites such as Letterboxd and E Online:
“When a young woman is revealed to actually be a hacked companion bot by her boyfriend, she runs away only to be hunted by his friends who are sent to retrieve her.”
“Iris and her friends set off a chain of events after a night at a lakeside estate concludes with the death of a billionaire.”
These are unconfirmed, however, so take them with a grain of salt.

-Sophie Thatcher, in an interview with Elle, described her character in Companion as being “very, very different from Natalie” (her character from Yellowjackets) and that her character is “a completely different person at the beginning [and end] of the movie.”
Thatcher also said that the film “starts off as a rom-com” and explains “that was so much more challenging to me than I thought it would be, because I'm so used to playing in the darkness.”
-Megan Suri, in an interview with Schön!, said that Companion has a “fun and exciting story” and that “the script is brilliant, the cast is incredible, and the producing team is fantastic.”
-Lukas Gage confirms he plays a gay character in Companion in an interview with EDGE Media Network.
In an interview with Collider, Gage described Companion as “really fun” and said the movie’s plot “has to do with AI and how scary it is.”
In a Vanity Fair interview, Gage stated that filming for Companion took place in the Hudson Valley area of New York.
