NIVES ANTWERP

  Nives in Antwerp is the Lille Bakery of Belgium. A place where you can have breakfast and lunch and where you can buy freshly baked sourdough bread.

  Everything evolves around the kitchen

The building in the Harmoniepark immediately catches the eye: radiant white, stately high and with a large terrace. Inside, the interior is composed around the kitchen/bakery where both of the times I came here for lunch, people were busy baking bread and making lunch. The height does all the work, the wooden folding chairs and paper lamps complete the picture.

  Female founders

The two female owners are known from Cafematic and opened this new place in lockdown. On the menu you’ll find sandwiches, salads and other goodies. They serve coffee from Cordon Coffee. And at the end of the day you can also join them for an apero.

Another one from my studies I made of silent places of Antwerp commissioned by @MASAntwerpen. This one is taken in Harmoniepark. One of the more noisy parks in the city, surrounded by busy traffic. But silence can always be found. When I made this picture I was definitely inspired by Andreas Gursky's "Rhein II".
